20 Best Toys For Puppy (2022 Updated)

Both of my dogs LOVED these!! The quality, size, color, and price are outstanding!! Both of my dogs cuddle up with their ducks which just warms my heart every time I see it! My aggressive chewer (pit x boxer, 2 years, 100lb) took a while before she ripped her duck open! (it took a lot of chewing & pulling to do so).

The ducks are made from a plush but super durable material, they don’t stretch much at all which makes them last longer. Due to the quality of the material it makes it possible to restitch them closed! I’d recommend these for ANY dog, but for destructive dogs (ones who like tearing things apart like my pit x boxer) I’d recommend supervised play, or correction!.

These use to be something I would recommend, but the last two I purchased. What a disappointment. While stuffies are not normally known for their sturdiness these ducks have been little survivors. Unfortunately, these last two are not the same quality of all the others.

The material has gotten cheaper and weaker, and the stitching. Well let’s just say it is poorly done. A bill and foot have become separated without the slightest provocation. And now I have found holes all through the material.

I have bought many of these, but quality is so bad in the last two it really is sad. Now what are we to do with no ducks???.

This toy is my heeler’s favorite. She loves to grab it by the neck or the butt and shake it had back and forth, beating the other end of it into the floor on each pass lol. We say “get your ducky!” And she gets so excited to go get it and play.

She loves to try and strip the fur off of it, but so far it’s very sturdy and not much has come off at all. She may destroy it someday, because she tends to just one day pick one of her plush toys and be like “today is your day to die.

” But when that happens I am gonna get her another one, because honestly she loves it and it’s holding up surprisingly well for not even being a real “tough” dog toy.

My 8. 5 pound chihuahua terrier mix looks so excited when I set this puzzle down for her. This level two puzzle is a fun challenge. I think she’d be able to solve it faster if she removed the white bone shaped treat covers completely.

However, she often just nudges them out of the way just enough to eat her kibble. As a result, she has trouble sliding the red squares into the center which means she can get frustrated when she can’t easily reach the treat compartment underneath.

Sometimes she’ll chew on the lid of the red square because she can smell the treats in the compartment below. I’ve been intervening at this point to show her how moving the white bone shaped treat covers over to the floor will allow her to slide the red squares inward so that she can then reach the treat compartment below.

I think she’s starting to catch on— we’ve only had this puzzle for a week. I was pleased that she was able to flip open the lids of the red squares and slide them inward with her nose without too much difficultly.

I was worried that this might be too hard for her but it has provided the right amount of challenge. If your dog is already doing level one puzzle toys, treat balls, and slow feeders with ease I would encourage you to try this puzzle out.

I love that I can look at my pup and see her wheels turning while she’s working this puzzle. My only gripe is that one of the lids has popped off with what I consider gentle use. I was able to re-attach easily but I’d recommend keeping a close eye on your doggo while they use this since it isn’t intended to be a super durable, free access chew toy.

These are HANDS DOWN the toughest chew toys we’ve ever had. We have 3 Great Danes and one of them is a power-chewer and destroys EVERYTHING. She’s eaten window sills, baseboards, door frames, railings, plus the usual stuff like beds, shoes, furniture, etc.

she LOVES the goughnuts! The infinity shape is her favorite- she can play with it as a fun toy, we can play tug together with it, or she can just go to town chewing it. It is expensive, BUT it has a lifetime guarantee! I don’t think we’ll ever have to replace it, but if we do it won’t cost us anything except shipping.

HIGHLY recommend this company and this toy in particular.

I am the BIGGEST fan of this brand! I have three extreme power chewers. Two enormous Cane Corsos and one pit bull. Believe me when I say no toy had ever even REMOTELY stood a chance against them. until GoughNuts.

This toy is a real favorite in my house. They also love taking it in the pool. Best money I’ve ever spent!!!.

This toy is ACTUALLY for power chewers. I can’t tell you how many toys we’ve gone through that are supposedly for “tough chewers” that didn’t last a full day. We’ve had this goughnut tug toy and the goughnut stick for well over a year now! My only complaint is that I wish they made even more toys to buy, because no one else’s work!.

(First off, this toy was a replacement for a different chew that ended up not working out. It’s rare when a product doesn’t work well and knowing Chewy will do everything to make it right is why I trust this company.

They did not ask me to write a review nor did they remove the negative review from the original chew toy, which is a big deal to me. ) That being said, this particular toy has not caused any negative effects at all.

The chew is solid, sturdy, and apparently tastes great with fun textures and an easy-to-hold handle. I have a 65lbs pittie mix named Cassiopeia and a 6lbs Yorkie named Millie. They both love this chew.

Both dogs can pick it up, and even Millie can jump on the couch with it. It’s held up very well within the few weeks I’ve had it. CAUTION: I will not let either dog use it when not supervised since this toy sometimes breaks into tiny pieces that may be eaten.

Howeve, the longer this chew has been used, the less this happens. If not for this, I would have done all five stars. But for the price and how much the dogs love it, it is completely worth purchasing.

A minor inconvenience for two happy pups is well worth it. Besides, you should be supervising your pups anyway.

I’ve spent countless hours trying to find things that my 8 month old Aussiedoodle can chew on safely. We’ve had 2 prior dogs in our family, and neither was a chewer, so this is new territory for me. This puppy has rainbow poops because he literally eats everything he chews on.

Not cool. So, in combination with bitter spray for the stuff that isn’t his, I’ve been searching for things that are at least digestible and more safe. This product was advertised as edible & safe, but the day we gave it to him, I soon found him chewing & swallowing as if he was eating it – not just chewing on it.

So I checked for splintering and such, and it turned out that his chew marks were sharp to the touch. I didn’t want him to bite off pieces and swallow them if it was going to be that sharp, so I took it away from him.

I showed my family in case I was overreacting but they all agreed that it was way too sharp, everywhere that he had bite marks. It’s such a bummer, partly because the shape is clever and helpful – so they can hold it down while chewing – and it seemed like it would be a good texture, but like I said, it just ended up feeling like thick plastic with sharp bite marks.

My 10# shihtzu loves this!! He had a previous one, but different brand/kind. It was not flavored but he liked it just as well, but it was getting sharp and jagged and time to be replaced. I will say he pounced on this one with even more enthusiasm, I was glad b/c he sometimes can behave unexpectedly and really dislike things that I think are a “slam dunk”.

So I was glad he went for this. It’s a nice “boredom option” for him. He usually hunkers down to it when he has exhausted us with fetch and we tell him no more. He usually throws himself to the ground and goes to town on this just to show us that he’s got other options besides us for his amusement! Very happy with it.

Like the material and feel it is a great safe option for him!.

My dog is obsessed with the dumplings! She will “bounce” them around like little basketballs (drop them and then pounce on them, repeat). Which is super great since she is a border collie and it’s a nice reprieve from the constant play fetching.

They quickly lost their white color, despite constantly being washed though. Which is ok – doesn’t matter to her!.

Was still is a favorite of ours! I have detached the dumplings and we now play fetch with those and I hide treats in the “container” for him to sniff out. Very durable. Most stuffed animal toys last less than a week for us.

This one we’ve had for months and he still loves all of it! Would definitely recommend.

This is my dogs favorite toy have purchased it multiple times! He loves sticking his head inside the take out container. I was worried about the small dumplings being a chocking hazard for him but we’ve had no issues.

He runs around squeezing them and tossing them in the air.

My GSD loves chewing snacks like bully sticks and bones and antlers. However most of the time even things that are supposed to be able to handle strong chewing he absolutely destroys within minutes, and things that he can’t, like bones filled with marrow or such treats, after he eats the filling down he’ll get frustrated and give up.

So far, this has been a hit with him! It’s chewy enough on its own that it gives him that give reminiscent of his balls, it’s durable enough that he hasn’t ripped it to shreds yet. And it’s easy enough that he can figure out how to get all the snacks out.

And most importantly, it gives me a break from having to play fetch with him every 15 minutes! The only issue is, it might be a little too easy. If I put just kibble or simple treats in there, he’d have them finished in seconds.

I feel a better design would have a silicone flap over the fill hole, allowing it to be filled easily, but still take a little bit of thought to figure out how to dump it.

This is hands down my dogs favorite toy and the one he spends the most time playing with. I fill it up with some treats or kibble cover it with peanut butter. He spends a few minutes licking off the peanut butter, a few minutes getting the treats out and throwing the toy around and a few minutes chewing it afterwards.

He gets anywhere from 5-20 minutes playing time with it. And it’s fun to watch him think while trying to get them out.

I think it’s great – our dog is not impressed. I ordered this knotted cotton rope toy because she LOVES to grab our cotton leadropes and drag them around. Although the rope bone appears to be made of the same type and thickness of cotton rope, she won’t play with it at all.

When I bring it out she takes it, trots around with it for about 10 seconds, drops it and ignores it completely. Unfortunately, I can’t address the durability question, although it appears sturdy enough.

Wylan loves ropes- and, unfortunately- ripping them apart. This rope was one stop on my journey to find a durable rope and it wasn’t the last. That being said. it’s 6 bucks. He’s likes to take them apart.

It was exactly as expected, and that’s totally cool. This rope is definitely for a certain kind of player, and it’s just not Wylan.

Whiskey is not someone who is very interested in things which don’t squeak. So it’s difficult to make him play with these kind of toys. However our effort to make him play fetch at least peaked his interest in this rope toy.

He did get possessive and played with it for quite a while without destroying it. So I am very hopeful that one day he will get ready to play fetch with it too. The toy itself is of very high quality and it should survive his chews for a while.

Good packaging as well. I would recommend other toys interested in rope toys to check this out. It’s approved by Whiskey for sure.

I had really high hopes for this toy. It feels super sturdy and still had the perfect amount of resistance for the dog that loves a little bounce in her chew. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a chew toy with that perfect combination.

Even though they don’t come apart, Kongs are just a smidge too hard (uninteresting) and everything with a little “bounce” comes apart immediately. Yep, it’s been about 10 minutes and most of the rounded ends are gone 🙁 I’m sure she’ll have fun with it for a few days.

Love these! Other than bones from the butcher, these are the only bones that keep my dog chewing. Extremely durable for what they do. Holds up well to a strong, determined dog. I saw several reviews of the dog not being interested.

I don’t blame the bone – it’s a personal choice. I’ve bought many toys that are still in the toy box because mine could care less. I have two rescues and if one has their bone, the other will dig thru the toys to find theirs! After awhile, it does start to shred and I need to replace it.

But considering the amount of time Norman (my lab mix) plays with it, I feel it’s a good investment.

This is a pretty strong chew, though my dogs are not the roughest strongest types of chewers. I needed a chew to use to redirect my youngest dog away from wood furniture and landscaping. I keep one chew for outside play & two for inside.

These chews must smell good because pup is attracted to them naturally & likes to carry them around at times. Has been much easier to discourage inappropriate chewing behavior since I purchased these.

She chews/gnaws on them but has not tried to eat chunks of them. Great for what I needed.

Nylabone Durachew/Powerchew/EXTREME, is the ONLY chew toys that work for my Golden Retriever. Moose is a gentle giant. She wouldn’t hurt a fly. But she has always had the need to chew! Nylabone Durachew/Powerchew/EXTREME, is PERFECT FOR our Golden girl! She loves them! All of them! They give her something to chew to help with anxiety & that need to chew.

She NEVER chew anything, except her mommy approved Nylabone toys! I refuse to buy another brand! If you have a heavy chewer, you must try Nylabone! You choose the size, and chew level for your dog, and you will never go back to another brand again! My sweet little Golden chews like a Pit Bill! lol And as long as I get the DURACHEW/POWERCHEW/EXTREME, it’ll last at least 8 WEEKS! Definitely worth the price!.

My dog loves wood-tasting chew bones. These contain wood and are enticing and keeps the dog entertained. They don’t wear down quickly. They’re not as hard/tough on dog’s teeth as antler bones. They don’t splinter like some bones and don’t come apart like rawhide.

My dog chews only tiny pieces at a time; she basically gnaws on it rather than chews. She can take a rawhide apart in a few minutes, but these wood bones last a long time since she only gnaws on them.

I like that they come in several sizes. The XS or S may be too small for small breeds, but my 9-lb. minpin chews the S or M size ones on her own. I hold the XS for her to chew once the size gets too small and safety might become an issue.

3-year-old golden retriever (Belle) and 1-year-old male shihtzeranian (Boyd), and both will choose this stick over almost anything, and they like they at least as well as the peanut butter sticks and animal material sticks.

Both of the latter have sharper edges and chew down too small and turn into choking hazards for an impatient dog like Boyd. Plus I’ve seen those kinds of sticks draw blood. They get rolled up in a way that creates too much of an edge on the ends.

These have form, but no sharp spots, and they take FOREVER to chew down, so they don’t ingest any great amount of anything in a sitting. Anyway, if you have a chewer, try these sticks. There are a lot of different kinds – like I said, both my dogs prefer these over the multiple that we’ve tried.

Pic is of Boyd with the remnants of a large size stick. He prefers it to the petite, and it seems safer anyway, since he’s as voracious a chewer as he is. Also, he likes it if you hold it sometimes. If you have a tiny hobby-chewer, the petite would probably be great.

First of all, they are super affordable. Second, we have two weimaraners. Our youngest one is a chewer/destroyer. I used to get him meat flavored hard chew toys from HomeGoods and he’d eventually start pulling off and eating plastic bits which really scared me.

He and my girl, who isn’t even a big chewer, LOVE these and I feel better about his ingestion of little bits. He’s always supervised while he chews, but we haven’t had any issues. Highly recommend!.

Puppy likes it Chews independently. Plays tug too. Some shredding of the ends when playing tug, not every time.

I bought a few chew toys from this brand, and took a chance as there were no reviews. My dog loved them all, including this one. They held up pretty well, and my dog is a very aggressive chewer. Will buy again.

Great chew toy. My Boston Terrier is a hard chewer but this toy holds up very well. The design enables him to easily holds on to it. Great purchase!!

When I first presented this to Ike, he showed no interest. Later I put a small treat in one of the holes and that was all it took to capture his attention. He continues to enjoy chewing on it, and sometimes I have to sweeten the deal again with a hidden treat.

I ordered these after seeing them out of the corner of my eye while getting dog food. Tossed them in my cart and forgot about them until the package arrived. And OMG they are the cutest tiny little things! My dogs normally gut all the toys i get them, with stuffing everywhere.

I bought these little latex guys on sale, and they were such fun for my dogs that I bought a second bunch. They are soft latex with loud squeakers that attract even my cats. They are great for tossing as they really bounce and even the chihuahuas like to play.

The toys are great for little dogs as they are light and can be carried around in small mouths. My dogs are ferocious chewers so I am hoping these fun toys last.

My 45-pound pup loved these on first sight! They are the perfect size for her to carry one in her mouth and she brings them to bed with her. The are durable. Washable, the squeek has lasted and not been broken by her for over a month now.

Purchase this for work. I live in a wet and windy environment on the coast. Looking for something casual, could wear daily and for protection from the elements as I need to periodically brave the elements.

I prefer wearing loose clothes for layering and comfort so i ordered a size larger. Fits great, long in the sleeves but I did order a size up. Looks & feels nicer than I expected.

This is the favourite toy of my to boys, they use it for tug of war and chase each other all the time over this toy. I just recently got another to replace the exhausted first on (which is still working) and when I opened the box I have never seen them jumping so high in excitement.

Very good quality strong toy that keeps them entertained.

Just finished travelling with this for a week, wearing it most days. It looks great. I’m headed home to clean it and look forward to my next adventure with it. I love the zip pockets and versatility.

I am so pleased with my Magis puppy. In fairness, I did not measure the size and I ordered the X Large one so when it arrived it was bigger than I anticipated. but this is NOT a negative. Our children are now grown up so I got it for myself as an accessory for the decking.
