20 Best Tractor For Hills (2022 Updated)

If you are a John Deere fan and a Lego fan, this is the perfect set for you. The scale for the tractor feels right. If you are just a Lego fan looking for another set, then this might be a pass? It only has two functions, the steering and the dump on the trailer.

The turn radius of the steering is limited, and there are several large stickers that can be tricky to put on straight. It does seem to be a pretty robust build holding up to my two year old playing with it (with supervision).

The biggest appeal is that there is finally a John Deere Licensed Lego set.

Finally a John Deere tractor! The entire set took my daughter and I about an hour to put together. Not much mechanism in this, the wheel and trailer lift, so it’s easy for an older child to put together.

Overall, the model is larger than expected and the price ($30) is a great value for a Lego set. Hope they make more Deere models, maybe a combine, gator, or even a larger cotton picker vehicle. Only wished that they would have included a mini-figure with a green John Deere hat!.

Purchased this as a gift for my father who loves tractors. The scale of the tractor is slightly smaller than what I had imagined it to be, but otherwise parts are well organised within to stage the building process.

When he saw that the trailer had a tipping feature – he was even more impressed.

So far, I have used my electric mower 8 times (1 hour and 5 min of continuous mowing each time), mowing grass/weeds with a light sprinkling of leaves. The mower exceeds my expectations. For example, in my experience the new mower was well packaged and arrived unscathed, was easy to assemble, has an easy push start button, has a battery life of operation of approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes with a fully charged battery, has an adjustable blade height, is lightweight, is easy to maneuver, has a quality cutting blade, cuts my grass/weeds well, did a decent job mulching the light sprinkling of leaves on the grass, emits a low noise level during operation, and is very easy to clean/wipe the bottom of the mower deck.

Because it is lightweight, I was able to push the mower up a sloped area when the battery drained during operation; there is no warning beep for low battery during operation, but I am able to estimate duration of mowing after I timed the battery life during a continuous mowing.

After the initial first mowing, I found that establishing a comfortable slower pace and mowing on dry grass works best. During the first mowing of the season, the areas I mowed were approximately 5-12 inches in height.

A few thick weedy spots required one back and forth movement or a second pass. But I have not had to do a second pass over any spots since the initial mow of the season. I found that it is best to straddle/overlap the mowing line slightly as when using my gas mower.

The initial first charge of the new battery took approximately 7-8 hours. As a safety precaution to prevent the battery from overheating, before recharging the drained battery, I allow the battery to cool down completely (several hours) before attempting to recharge the battery.

I have a large yard, and it used to take approximately 4 hours (of continuous mowing and a gasoline refill) with my gas mower. Even though I have to spread out my electric mowing time because I only have one battery, the benefits of my electric mower are worth it to me.

When all is said and done, it takes approximately the same amount of time to mow my large yard with my electric mower as it did with my gas mower. I recommend this electric mower, especially because it continues to exceed my expectations.

I loved this more when I first purchased it. It was easy and light to use and did a great job. It actually made mowing fun. But then the end of the first season as soon as the battery lost a bar the mower would start to shut off.

Then the second season it got worse and now doesn’t even start. We followed every rule of storing and handling the battery with care. We live in NY so we only use it a few months out of the year, It’s a shame we didn’t even get a full season use.

I have tried contacting Greenworks customer service multiple times by email and phone call and have never received a reply or have been on hold for an extended amount of time with no response. What good is a warranty if it’s not backed up.

I want to love this so bad but with the lack of customer service it has been disappointing.

I purchased Select Cut with 7. 5Ah battery as it was advertised to run 60 minutes, and my old self propelled gas mower took about an hour to get through my whole yard (it’s about 9500 sq feet. I have had the mower for a few weeks now, and am overall quite pleased with it.

It cuts well, I only notice a few blades here and there that it misses, and it does actually last about an hour. The first run I did was with the mulching blade installed, and I didn’t use the self propel feature.

I made it through the whole yard no problem. I then changed to the bagging blade as lawn care people fertilized everything, and my grass was quite deep and thick. I didn’t quite make it through the whole yard, but thanks to my purchase of an Ego String Trimmer, I just stole the 2Ah battery from it, and kept on going until I was done.

So nice to have this safety blanket. I still had enough juice in the smaller battery to finish my edging. Even if I didn’t, the battery charges quite quickly. Today, the grass was not as long, and extremely dry.

I decided to see how the self propel worked. It appears that both rear wheels are on a single axle, so turning while under self propulsion is a little difficult. Otherwise the self propel feature works wonderfully.

Easy to pick a comfortable speed with the handlebar knob adjuster. With bagging, self propulsion, and having to make about 5 stops to empty the bag (which holds WAY more than my old gas mower did), the battery was able to finish the yard with a little left to spare.

Actual run time was about 55 minutes. Certainly not the cheapest choice, but the mower is comfortable to use, the battery charges extremely fast, and whoever designed the single handle deck height adjustment lever is a hero.

The only minor issues are ones that I saw reported by other users. The self propel feature takes a second to kick in once you push the button, and takes a second to stop after you let go of the button.

After a little use, making the timing adjustment becomes second nature. The other oddity is when the back wheels lock up if you aren’t using self propulsion. Easy fix if you just pull it backward for a few inches to unlock whatever gets stuck.

I haven’t tried it in the dark yet with the headlights. Definitely need to do this though. simply because I can.

One of the best mowers out there! Good design, light weight, high torque, good battery life. Design is good with height adjustment from 1 inch to 4 inches in increments. This is good for more rough terrain so the blades dont clip any rocks.

The handle is adjustable to different angles for mowing comfort. After using a gas powered mower this mower is light, making it more maneuverable and easier to mow your lawn. The brushless motor is powerful, easily making a rough back yard into a manicured area.

The battery is a powerhouse. I used a previously purchased 5Ah battery before using the supplied 7. 5Ah battery. Just using the 5Ah battery I was able to mow our 0. 15 acre back yard without any problems or changing the battery.

Another great idea is the two blade mowing system. Great for really mulching the grass which leads me to the next feature. This mower is set up for either rear discharge, mulching or bagging with the included grass catcher.

I really like the powered rear wheels. This feature makes mowing up a hill much easier. I also like the way you adjust the speed of the powered – an adjustable speed wheel on the mower’s handle. Another a good feature is the LED lights on the deck.

Good for mowing at night. but who really mows their lawn at night unless your’e a commercial outfit. While the design, weight and power is great with this machine, there are a few draw backs. The rear flap between rear wheels is easily cut by the blades when the mower is pulled backwards.

Another concern is the wheels. While they look sturdy, they probably are but with a more rough terrain, they might not hold up. I’m hoping if they do fail there is a more sturdy alternative. The mower is packaged very well.

No bumps, scratches or nicks. However, I did not appreciate the redundant advertising that is really unnecessary that was attached to the mower. I’ve done my research and know what I wanted to purchase and the advertising in the mower section at Lowe’s was sufficient for me to make my choice.

But all the additional advertising that was on the machine was very wasteful and unnecessary. I hope the marketing team will realize this and make a change to more eco-friendly sustainable packaging.

This mower replaced a 5-year-old EGO and was purchased primarily to gain the self-propelled feature and a new battery. The old EGO it replaced (sold) had worked without problems giving me some faith in EGO reliability.

So far (two mowings) it’s my impression that the Select Cut two blade system does a slightly better job cutting the grass than my old EGO, maybe smaller clippings and more vacuum (I almost always bag the clippings).

Battery life has been at least an hour. The self-propelled feature is so far somewhat of a disappointment. It does not seem very user friendly to me. I am always engaging it accidentally due to the button placement (I will probably hopefully eventually adapt to this).

It should also be more easily speed-adjustable on the fly, like my old Personal Pace Toro gas mower. The drive system also sometimes does not want to disengage making manually pushing or pulling it require much more effort.

The worst part of purchasing this mower however, by far, was doing it through Lowes. I ordered it on-line and received it in a box that had been opened and then tapped shut (I found later that these boxes are glued not tapped shut at the factory).

I found that the grass clipping bag and the instruction manuals were missing. EGO service would not just send me the missing items, I had to make another 25-mile round trip to Lowes to get them. (This generated some anger in me, my apologies to the EGO service guy who was just following EGO policy.

) The service guy at Lowes first tried to give me a bag from another brand of mower and print the 175-page manual (forgetting the battery and charger manuals). When I pointed out that that the bag was not an EGO bag, he opened a glued shut box containing the exact same model EGO mower that I had purchased and took out the bag and manuals to give to me.

(Who will now get this box after they tape it shut?) Why I was not just given the unopened box to start with is beyond me, I doubt it just came in less than 24 hours after I had picked up the opened box.

I also doubt I will buy anything through Lowes on-line again.

First of all I would like to thank EGO for the opportunity to provide feedback on my 21″ self-propelled lawn mower. The next thing I want to do is warning the reader that this review may be a bit long.

My sole intention is to provide as much information as possible for you to determine if this mower will satisfy your needs. All comparisons in this review will be between the 21″ EGO and a 20 year old Sears gas powered push mover having a Honda 4HP motor.

I purchased the EGO from ACME tools (no promotions) and the unit arrived on time and in flawless condition. Setup was a breeze with an easy to understand manual. My yard is approximately 5,000 ft2 with fair/average grass conditions.

Additionally I always use the mower in the mulching configuration. Now for the comparison(s). Starting: EGO drop the battery in and press go – grade A Sears fill with with gas and pull start (usually 1 or 2 pulls) – grade B Use: EGO has self drive which is great on long straight runs but is difficult in areas where you have to “manhandle” the mower around objects – grade B Sears self push but was easy to maneuver around stationary objects – grade B Fuel: EGO single battery charge can complete lawn.

This is a combination of self-propelled and push. 70% propelled / 30% push grade – A Sears is single tank of gas would complete lawn grade – N/A Mulching: EGO takes multiple passes over tall grass to completely mulch grade – C Sears single pass would mulch just about anything.

grade – A Noise: EGO very quiet no ear protection required grade – A Sears loud ear protection required grade -D Intangibles: EGO super easy height adjustment, good ergonomics except in tight maneuvers, poor mulching (going slow helps), great vertical storage option, low noise.

All this comes at a cost. Longevity is unknown? Sears in the twenty years of service required routine maintenance (plugs, air filter, oil change) and 2 recoil starters. Required proper winterization.

Summary: I am not sorry I purchased this particular EGO mower and will continue to use it until it fails. However, if I knew what I know now I would not of purchased this particular model. The mulching ability is poor and it takes me longer to cut my grass because I have to move slower.

Maneuverability around objects can be tough because you can not adjust the handle. The quietness and vertical storage are huge pluses. The battery has one bar left after cutting my lawn. And of course longevity on any electric mower is TBD? The Sears/Honda mower provided 20 years of solid performance but required routine maintenance.

The motor remained strong but the mower deck was rusting through.

This EGO mower is great. Cuts better than gas – no fumes, no cranking problems, no oil or spark plugs, and much less noise. Very little maintenance; keep blades sharp, lubricate wheel bearings, pivot pin, & spring once or twice a season.

Cuts great even at highest self propelled speed. You get (2) 4 Ah batteries, however this model only holds 1 battery at a time. I think it can accept up to a 7. 5 Ah battery, which is twice as heavy.

However it works great with (1) 4 Ah at a time. Plus the rapid charger will have your second battery charged, before your 1st one runs down. Kit also includes bag, a mulching plug, and side discharge piece.

I mowed 1/2 acre and used 1 battery, and about 25% of second battery. The biggest advantage is the 4 Ah battery size works with all EGO tools, and it is light enough to carry around with my leaf blower, trimmer, and multitool edger and cultivator.

I actually chose this model to get (2) 4 Ah batteries, because even though my 5 year old EGO batteries (and tools) still work, I knew it was time to get replacements. Plus the rapid charger is so much faster than my 5 year old standard charger.

I also like the small right side activator for the self-propel function. Just release activator with your thumb, push the handle down to easily turn on the inactivated rear wheels, and easily reapply self-propelled activator to take off again.

Some models have 2 pressure activators across the handle, which seem to be more cumbersome to operate in the turns. This is a new kit for 2022, it was not listed online yet, but my local Ace Hardware was able to get one shipped to store within a few days.

Besides a flawed self-propel feature and a general feeling of “not quite the power of gas”, I’m happy with my Ego lawnmower. I am thrilled by the quite operation and the fact that it easily mows my yard on one charge; these would make it a clear winner over my old gas mower, but with the flaws it’s more of an even replacement.

Let me talk about the self-propel feature. You cannot self-propel forward, release the self-propel lever, and pull back. If you try to, the drive wheels lock-up. Instead you must let go of the self-propel lever, coast forward for about a foot, and then you can pull back.

This is super annoying when mowing under bushes or other times that I want to move back and forth regularly. The problem is compounded by the rear whiles being the drive wheels, as I can’t just “tilt up” the mower to coast backwards.

I wonder if I would have been better-off buying the cheaper non-self-propelled option. I’m a mechanical engineer. I suspect the problem is that the self-propel motor is behind a high-ratio gear train which is not back-drivable.

So even though the motor is no longer generating torque, the gear train is wound-up. This could be resolved by using a different gear train (perhaps one more rigidly mounted),adding an activated clutch closer to the drive wheels to disengage the motor, by commanding a short reverse motion on the motor to unload the gear train when the handle is released, or adding an overrunning clutch somewhere.

Most of these solutions would add cost, but this is such an annoying feature on an otherwise well-designed tool.

Super hard AZ driveway with crown and ruts leveled. Takes repetitive passes. but since your riding who cares? Works with no block weights. faster with 1 block, cuts even quicker with 2 blocks. and you probably need a tractor to use 3 blocks if up hill and deeper gravel is involved.

My 750lb Four Wheeler in AWD needed to go up slope in a steeper area when using 2 blocks. My Yard Tractor will tow with zero and in some area’s 1 block, but not up slope after gravel is loosened and you “carry” more of it while dragging.

Would absolutely buy again. and recommend unless you have very level or a heavy tractor you not buy the big variant of this design.

This worked as advertised. I had a hard packed gravel drive that had not been graded in 16 years. It was getting pretty wonkey so I bought this drag in hopes it would smooth things out and I was not disappointed.

I ran it around with two blocks on for about 20 minutes and then switched to one block because the gravel was so lose my lawn tractor was getting stuck. I ran the one brick around for another hour because I had some stubborn spots.

The very ends of the drag did get clogged with wet dirt from going through grass at the edges of the drive so had to clean those out once. Now the drive is beautiful and smooth. You should have seen the neighbors looks of envy he-he.

Also the tow bar folds right up and the whole thing fits against the wall of my garage without taking up a bunch of space. Oh upon assembly lining up the holes for the last bolt is hard so leave all nuts loose until the whole thing is together.

Couldn’t be happier !! All the way from help from the store and ordering it, to the quick delivery from the company and the product itself. The product was very easy to put together and the quality is excellent.

I graded my State of Maine driveway which was beat up from plowing snow and I couldn’t be happier. I started off with putting one block on but needed a little more bite so added another and that was perfect, and you also can add 1 more block if desired.

I also graded the loam I put down for my lawn. Highly recommended grader !.

Purchased 40v MAX and loving it’s performance on my 60′ x 60′ yard. Using mulcher presently and haven’t used bag collector as of yet. Cuts short and yard grass clumps in spots so needed help in ability to keep from wearing me out by using my weedeater only.

With yard cutting charges going up I decided to do what one of my neighbors does. maintain my own yard. Being 70 yrs old and my sister says a stubborn streak. I also like health benefits. My blood pressure has gone down and Dr lowered one of the three BP meds I have taken for yrs.

Trim perimeter with my WORK 20v weedeater and the 20-25 minutes to do so allows me to take a break and continue or finish the job tomorrow. I started building my stamina by one weedeater trimming of 20-25 minutes.

Next day the same routine of weedeating. My neighbor commented on what a great job my WORX 40v mower does on my yard. I can fold handle down and clean then slide under my tiny dining table that has two pop out leafs.

Sooo thrilled with both purchases and this is my second weedeater from WORX yrs ago. You can definitely benefit in many ways from WORX products. I’m widowed so needed something I could carry into my home athat I purchased little over a year ago.

I’m so thankful to God for a job well done and WORX track record. Looking at possible hydro product next. Thx WORX!.

Had an older Worx battery operated mower that was given to me already very used. I loved it. After 2 years, the battery was pretty much dead and I found out they didn’t make that battery anymore. So I had to upgrade to a new mower with the new battery system.

I was frustrated but was pleased that they gave a discount on a new mower and I started to get excited thinking about a new mower with (hopefully) more power and longer mow time due to upgraded batteries! But alas, I was disappointed.

I love the lightness and maneuverability of this little mower for my small urban yard but the mow time is very limited. Doesn’t seem to be much better than my old battery! Disappointed in that aspect.

Would still recommend, as I like the concept and the weight of the machine.

I bought this in October 2020 to replace an older 14″ WORX cordless lawnmower that had lasted over 7 years. I have a townhome, so a small, 14″ cutting deck is perfect for the small lawn and for storage.

This new mower keeps a similar storability, with easier tightening and loosening screws for the handles, shareable batteries, a much better height adjusting control, and has a nice edge to edge cutting design.

It is noisier, but that’s really about all I had to complain about it. However, forward to June 2021 where I’ve used the mower maybe 10 times now. Somehow, the front axle got displaced making the front left wheel unable to roll and the height adjuster stuck.

I tried to chat with support but gave up after 20 minutes, and decided to just void the warranty and open it myself to try and fix the issue since I’d likely not be eligible for it anyways. The good news is the design is quite simple inside and as a bonus I was able to find out why sand was constantly coming out of the machine (there’s a small sandbag inside to weigh down the front and it was ripped).

The front axle had popped out of its track, so a little maneuvering set it back into place and it works fine. Still disappointed in the quality given how relatively new it is. At least it’s easy to fix.

PROS: lightweight, improved height adjuster, cordless, PowerShare batteries, portable, storable CONS: Axle pops out out track, mystery sand (solved!), clogs easily on thick grass even on highest height, misses a few blades of grass here and there.

I’ve had this mower for about a month and it’s been through a lot between my and my neighbour’s acreages this unusually wet spring. I have a lot of lawn. It takes at least 4 full batteries and in spring it’s oftten 6 to mow the entire lawn here but I don’t mow it all at once most of the time.

With the rapid charger a second 5 AH battery from the CS1804 chainsaw, I can go back and forth mowing with one battery in the charger which will have its battery charged almost as fast as I can discharge the one that’s in the mower.

This mower replaces another cordless model in its 10th year. That one is still working but lacks power vs the newer ones, and I needed something to rescue the neighbour’s overgrown lawn after her lawn care person vanished.

Many reviews are from people who switched from gas but I did that long ago. When I bought my first cordless mower I was willing to sacrifice some power and convenience for a quieter, no-fumes mowing experience.

With this mower, there is no sacrifice at all. This unit outperforms cheap gas mowers and rivals commercial ones. There is little to complain about here. The mower is amazingly quiet and has decent power.

In fact the mower is amazingly powerful when it wants to be. It defaults to a low power setting and increases power output on demand. The problem is that sometimes it gets caught off guard when transitioning suddenly into thick grass which can stall it if you don’t ease the mower into a situation like that to give the mower time to adjust.

Over the time I’ve had it, I have learned how to handle situations like this, but I would have preferred a manual override on the handle, for the option of entering thick grass quickly without pause under full power.

The other flaw I have encountered is the handle height adjustment lever which sticks out from the left side of the left handle rail. This can catch on metal wire fence, which is annoying. I would have placed the lever on top or underneath that rail so that it doesn’t protrude off the side.

Other than that, this comes off as a very well made and well thought out machine. The plastic deck feels rigid and strong, certainly much stiffer than the steel deck on my previous cordless mower. And it won’t rust.

Finally, I find this mower exceedingly easy to push causing me to wonder why anybody would opt for the self propelled version. This is the easiest pushing mower I have ever used and I have some rough and hilly terrain here.

I think the deck design has something to do with this which minimizes the deck dragging against the grass. I realize this mower is an older model which makes it even more impressive. Well done EGO but I wish you would stop putting those older BA2800 batteries without the fuel gauges in with the kit.

For people with large lawns like me, it’s nice to have the status indicator on the battery. This mower is perfectly capable of dealing with huge lawns but not having the status indicator on board is a significant inconvenience.

Fortunately with the help of Rona staff I found a mower with the 3rd gen battery so I’m as happy as a clam now. I’d give 4. 5 stars if possible so rounded it up to 5 with performance and value being what it is.

Looks like a good sturdy cart but you can’t assemble it unless you order proper parts and have a machine shop to correct the manufacturing deficiencies. The axle is 1″ but the bushings in the wheels are 3/4″.

I called customer service who were very friendly and nice. They told me they would ship new bushings. It took 10 days to receive the bushings. I noticed afterwards that there was also a dust cap missing from one of the wheels.

No big deal, but this is supposed to be a new product. I guess they have low standards. When the bushings finally arrived, I tapped out the old ones with a punch and hammer easy enough. I don’t have a machine shop or arbor press.

I didn’t realize this was going to be part of the assembly when I ordered the cart. To install the new ones I started them by tapping them in with a block of wood and hammer, then I inserted a bolt with washers and pulled them together as I tightened the nut.

Seemed to go ok, but one of them didn’t seat right against the hub and had a small gap on each side. I thought it might have been impeded by the grease nipple protruding on the inside and didn’t want to force anything, so I installed the wheels that now fit on the axle.

However, now it was not possible to secure both wheels because the hole spacing on the retainer pins was too close together. So now the decision is whether to cut down the spacers, or try and close the gaps on the bushings that were not fully seated on the one wheel.

I decided to try and push the bushings in more by tightening the bolt a little more. I chose wrong. the wheel cracked and it still doesn’t fit. you shouldn’t have to go through this to assemble any product.

I’d advise you to consider something already assembled.

Great versatile dump cart. Includes do-it-yourself plans to cut separators for the cart so it can be divided into three parts; also includes simple plans to build stake sides and front for but items such as leaves (not to exceed load limit of the cart) or add a garden tool rack to the stakes.

Poly cart will not rust and the frame is built of heavy duty steel. I do not plan to leave it in the weather when not in use but if you must, it will stand up to years of use. Best capabilities for the price of any lawn cart I have researched.

No regrets.

The cart itself is nice. I like the foot operated dump, swivel cart, and spring loaded hitch. My only negative is that Tractor Supply did a horrible job assembling this. I had to replace one bolt that had the threads stripped when it was installed and was also missing a nut.

More than half the nuts holding the cart to the frame were loose or only hand tightened. The cart also has some cosmetic damage to the sides I’m guessing from shipping but its not that big of a deal to me I’ll probably add to those scratches.

The truck itself is bigger than I expected. I think the John Deere trucks are well made. Bought for grandsons 3rd birthday Grandson is happy with it even though it’s a bit big for him. but it will last him a few years.

Would have given five stars had it not been for the instructions. They are not clear enough, I had to keep referring to the picture on the box. Plus there was a nut missing that connected the one side of the front loader.

And when delivered the box was a bit battered with one of the metal rods sticking out of it. With the exception of the missing nut all other parts were there and we found a nut to fit in our tool box.

So grandson was not disappointed.

I bought this for my grandson’s 2nd birthday and he was very impressed. My husband had no problem putting it together. I thought it would have been nice to include a working horn with it or some lights etc.

As it is quite heavy it will be a while before he can actually pedal it to move it, however he will grow into it and enjoys playing on it in the garden. Although fairly expensive , it seems built to last especially for toys left out in the garden.

I brought this for my son’s 3rd birthday. He is absolutely obsessed with tractors, he has constantly played with it. I was unsure about spending the money on it (cheapest website I found it on) but I’ve got to say it was worth every penny.

My little boys face when he unwrapped it but also the quality of the tractor is fantastic. My little boy seems to break things easy but there isn’t anything on the tractor that he could break, as the quality is brilliant.

You do need two people on certain bits when building the tractor. Otherwise it was straightforward to set up.

Fantastic Tractor providing great fun with lots of opportunities for imaginary play, role play and help with chores!!

Grandchildren were thrilled with it, it will hopefully stand the test of time

I purchased the Honda HRX217VKA last month and have now mowed my lawn three times with it. For context, I’m 67 years old, in reasonably good shape for my age, and weigh about 165 lbs with a medium build.

My former mower is the Husqvarna HU800H (a 2013 model), so that is my point of comparison. The build quality of this model (materials and design) is up to Honda’s usual excellent standards. The engine requires a couple of pulls to start when cold and one, easy pull when warmed up.

The deck is a rugged plastic material that makes the mower quite easy to turn and pull back. I’m hoping it can “take a shot” since it’s not unheard of for me to catch the occasional small rock or piece of tree branch.

Unlike the HU800H, the edge of the deck is well situated to avoid scalping the ground, even at the fairly low height setting of “2”. This is a frequent issue because my yard is lumpy. When you clean the deck you have to go at it with some heightened attention because it has some odd, not so easy to access nooks and crannies.

It’s a bit inconvenient to set the wheel height because each wheel has its own positioner and they’re not particularly easy to move. The twin blade setup cuts the grass more uniformly than any other mower I’ve ever owned.

Overall the experience of using the mower is positive, but unfortunately, the drive mechanism has been a disappointment. It works very well on flat ground, but has no “muscle to drive the machine up any kind of incline.

I would characterize the drive as a “push assist”, but not a “self-propelled”.

I’ve used the mower once with acceptabler results. I hope it lasts as long as my previous Honda which lasted 23 yrs. My previous mower was working fine until the body motor mounts cracked. Engine was still running strong.

It even had the original wheels and bag. I do have some issues that I think Honda needs to addres with the new mower: 1. Handle height. I’m 6′ 3″ and the height is too low at the highest setting. This is a common complaint from other reviews.

When compared to my previous Honda which had a maximum 44″ height vs the new mower which has a maximum 38″ height at the highest setting. I don’t understand why Honda, given the space on the handle support did not drill a fouth hole from the factory to as I did to raise the height for 6’+ consumers.

I was able to drill an additional hole in the handle support at the same pitch and size as the exiting holes and it raised the height to 44″ the same as my previous mower height. 2. Blade / Motor. New mower does not allow motor to run without blade engaged.

If blade handle is let go mower engine stops. Old mower allowed motor to start and run without blade spinning and used the blade engagement handle to engage / disengage the blade with the motor running with either option.

I don’t kjnow if this is a new safety feature or not but I don’t see how it could be as the only way to engage the blade is to hold the handle as with the older model. 3. Self propelled max speed is too slow.

As I mentioned I’m 6′ 3 so I could use a faster setting. Again, my old Honda mower self propelled top speed was faster than the new one and had wider speed range. 4. Mulching door does not fully seal bag chute opening.

The mulching door should completely seal the bag chute opening when to set to maximum mulch setting. This is consistently reported problems in othe reviews.

This is a great hitch. I purchased it online to attach to my new Cub Cadet tractor to move a wood splitter around my property. It took approx. 30 minutes to attach to tractor. It bolts onto the existing trailer hitch hole on the tractor.

It comes with two sets of brace arms to fit different tractors. I didn’t have to drill any holes as the braces lined up with holes in back of the Cub Cadet tractor. The trickiest part is attaching the braces to the back of tractor.

If you hold the brace bolt with needle nose pliers, reach up under the back of the tractor and feed bolt outwards and connect brace with bolt on outside it is very doable. Note it requires a 3/4” ball shaft.

The only drawback is that it has to be taken off when you want to use your bagger on the Cub Cadet as the bagger has to attach into the hitch hole where the hitch is bolted. However this is not a big drawback as it is generally different seasons when moving woodsplitter or using grass/ leaf baggers.

Would be nice if the height had some type of adjustment, trailer sits at quite an angle. Installed on my JD S240 and had to customize the brackets a bit to make them fit. Just use it to transport my utility trailer from storage location to driveway.

If you want perfect fit this could be built at home if you have the equipment.

Works Better Than I Thought, I was concerned about it,s strength being made of aluminum. I rebuild boats and I am moving them all the time from the back where I park them to the front where work on them.

I am able to pull 1,000 lb Bass boat ( this is the heaviest one I am working on right now) on uneven surface with no issue using it. First I bought a MoJack Multi Use Hitch but realized the center of gravity was too low and would cause the front end of my John Deere L120 garden tractor to lift and cause a problem with steering.

I bought The Great Day Lawn-Pro Lawn Mower Hi-Hitch and installed it with a extremely small modification ( Drilled two holes to attach the support brackets. ). Even with the modification on my tractor It took less than 1/2 hour to install.

I can not recommend this product enough.

Very nice little tractor, fits my four year-old daughter perfectly. Assembly is light with all major parts already in place, you’ll need a Philips head screwdriver and a couple of beers. Note: As shipped to me this came with a multi-voltage AC adapter but the plug options provided with the set were for European outlets so you may have to adapt with a travel-type socket converter.

Many AC adapter options are available for these to suit any voltage and socket configuration. She loves it, very happy gal and dad.

I ordered this toy for my son for Christmas (in plenty of time may I add). I would receive a message to say it was on its way. I would wait home for delivery – it would never arrive. The status would then change to say that the toy was damaged in transit? Getting through to them was a nightmare.

My son never received the toy. I personally think they don’t actually stock many of these toys – they take your money for weeks on end. I did eventually get my money back. However, I think this is a Mickey Mouse company who take your money but don’t actually have any stock.

This mower is a nice mower for the money. First of all I like the B&S motor. That is the motor I have always used and I have never had any trouble with them. The last one I had lasted 15 to 20 years and I only changed the spark plug once that I can recall.

I changed the air filter a number of times though as I’ve mowed many yards where there were spots with hardly enough grass and a lot of dirt. Two features of this mower I like are: 1)The front and rear wheels are adjustable from one side of the mower.

adjust the front wheel and both front wheels are adjusted at the same time. The same with the rear wheels. 2) The mower has a side discharge or can be utilized as a recycle mower where the grass is cut real fine and dropped back into the yard to feed the yard with the clippings.

That is how I have been mowing my yard for the last, oh I don’t know, thirty years? Anyway, I like these motors and although I haven’t used this mower much yet, I think I’m going to like it too.

Just bought and haven’t used yet. Only started it. The lever to adjust wheel height on front is so close to wheel that I couldn’t adjust it without major work. The plastic cover broke and I had to use a screwdriver to get it far enough away from wheel to move it and even that was near impossible to do.

Also I grabbed under mower by discharge area and it cut my finger due to an extremely sharp spot on the metal. At first I thought I touched the blade but realized after it was on side the blade was nowhere near that spot.

Also the handle is a little high for a short person and it couldn’t be adjusted lower. For these reason I’m only giving it a 2 stars. Positives: I do love how easy it started and the long neck for oil to be added.

Disappointed and frustrated.

This mower is light and quiet. I wanted it to be light because I don’t have a huge yard and it’s easier on the grass. I also wanted a mulch because it’s the best for the grass. So this was my ideal model.

I wouldn’t call it loud either. It started on the first try. All the parts seem high quality. The wheels are not cheap plastic, but some type of rubber. The mulch chute is heavy duty plastic, which is a breaking point with a lot of mowers.

All the controls and important parts are easy to access and intuitive. I’d highly recommend this, there’s nothing I don’t like about it. The only unknown is the longevity of this mower under proper care, but I’m not worried.

It seemed like the highest quality option I could find.

My grandson absolutely loved it. He spent the whole afternoon going ,”mower mower like it Nana”. I was very glad I got it. Now my daughter rings me and saying that my grandson just wants to mow the lawn,haha.

Great entertainment! My child is a confident but relatively new walker, he loves this toy, easy to push, makes a good amount of noise, (not enough to be irritating for me which is a bonus) and he is fascinated by the balls!.

For a very modest patch of lawn, I’ve been using a reel-type pushmower for several years. It does a credible job, not as good as the reel mowers from my childhood, but power mowers have become ubiquitous, much to the detraction of pushmower technology.

This little Sun Joe mower is a dream to use. Sure, you need a long extension cord, but its meager 12-amp appetite does not tax the cord or the outdoor outlet. The cutting swath is only 14 inches, but operation is so effortless that a couple of extra passes over the width of the lawn is no big deal.

Furthermore, you don’t have to overlap by 50%, like you do with a reel mower, to get full mowing coverage. What I particularly like about this mower is that the blades incorporate vanes that create a vacuum beneath the mower, causing the grass blades to stick straight-up to get their little heads chopped off.

Cutting is neat and complete, the lawn looking a lot more tailored than with the reel pushmower, which pushed a good deal of the grass down rather than cut it. The collection bag works well too, although it’s on the small side, but it unhooks easily with one hand so emptying it a few times is no big deal, and the grass makes good mulch in the flower beds.

I’ve got the company’s string trimmer too, for around edges and stuff; both products work well and are quite cost-effective.

Great little mower. I was using a manual reel mower but with working a lot and getting older I needed something “cheap” that would make it easier and faster cutting the grass. My back yard is pretty big so I have to use 3 extension cords.

If you don’t mind the extension cord I would recommend this. Next time I would probably get a bigger deck. I don’t use the bagger because with the size of my yard I spend to much time dumping grass. It is very easy to push.

Make sure you wear long pants the clippings blow out of the back instead of the side, like I’m used to, an occasional rock or stick might hit you in the leg. Nice mower for under $100! I expect it to last a few more years.

This is my second year with it and it works great. My blade had some chips in it and I could not find a replacement one anywhere so I called Sun Joe to see if they knew when they would be back in stock.

The awesome CS rep was able to get me one under their 2 yr warranty! All around great purchase!.

Brief personal background: I am a retired electrical engineer with 4 years in electrical generation power industry and 42 years in semiconductor design/manufacturing. I have been mowing yards for over 50years and in my youth worked on farms running mostly tractors with different attachments.

I mainly have experience with gas power push mowers and on the farm with large 20 ft bush hogs. This is my first for both electric and Zero Turn Mower (ZTM). Brief history of ownership: I have used this mower 2 times mowing a little over an acre that is mainly Bermuda grass but does have some crab and blue grass.

First time yard was little wet and about 4. 5 inches high, second was dryer and the grass was about 3. 5 inches. I use the 2. 67” blade height setting. My yard has about 25 obstacles to mow around and is mostly level (only a small ditch).

I mowed during the day, so lights were not needed. Brief Summary of mower: I bought this from Lowes and had it delivered. Lowes had already assembled it before delivery but from instruction seem to be very straight forward.

This ZTM has very good ergonomics (I am 5’7”, 190lbs), very easy to operate (setting are mostly intuitive), with very good displays showing different setting, status of battery level, and alarms if they occur, very quiet compared to gas mowers, cut quality at the 2 highest blade speed setting was very good and even, steering controls good (since first time with ZTM it hard for me to compare this to gas version or other electric but I do think the control of speed and turning could be a little more linear), battery life good (It took about 50min to mow and had 20% left on battery using 2nd highest setting on blade speed and 2nd setting on drive speed, this is from a 100% charge).

The charger was very easy to mount and will run on a 15amp service. From ~ 20% battery level to 100% took 1. 75 hrs. Cleaning after use was very easy with hose quick disconnect and just blowing off the upper deck.

The main reason I bought this mower was I had good experience with their trimmer and edger. Also, I like the battery pack design that displays battery level and appears to provide good cooling of the battery and charger.

I like the ability to remove and replace batteries if needed. The S/W application was easy to down load and run, check the firmware for any updates (mine did not need any), and status of the mower. EGO web site for registering was easy to use (It would be nice if EGO had a way for the mower to read serial number of the mower, batteries, and charger, so when you log in with the app this would automatically load for registration) Pros: Ergonomic, chair comfort, controls/displays, battery design, cutting quality and power, manual is very clear and coverage of operation/safety, S/W app and firmware update capabilities, overall design.

Cons: Price, speed and turn controls (needs to be little more linear) Recommendations: 1) Include the full six 10amps/hr batteries and mulching attachment 2) Blade height setting needs a better way to display the setting, I would recommend showing this on the main control display it could easily be done.

3) Have mower read serial number for easy warranty setup. 4) On the discharge chute add a simple way to lower and raise, to improve storage and maneuverability.

I used to do professional lawn care using commercial grade Scag zero turn mowers. I feel very qualified to provide a review of any zero turn. Although I am no longer mowing professionally, I wanted to keep a zero turn mower for my own yard.

A couple of things are very important to me when it comes to mowing: efficiency, which means mowing fast while also doing a good and thorough job without damaging the lawn with spinning tires or running into obstacles, clean lines, and the blades not skipping over areas leaving uncut grass.

I also wanted to get an electric mower to reduce maintenance requirements. I no longer wanted to mess with belts, oil, spark plugs, or lead batteries. I tested an electric Cub Cadet zero turn but got the Ego because the steering on the Ego is smoother and free of jerks.

Coming from commercial grade, the 42″ Ego satisfies my needs and probably would for almost any homeowner. I like how the entire deck can be easily removed which makes accessing the blades for removal/sharpening easy.

The seat is very comfortable and the front lights are very bright. The only negatives are that the Ego is lighter weight than a commercial grade heavy duty mower with relatively small drive wheels so it can struggle to travel lengthwise along slopes without slipping down the slope (most of my 1 acre is on a slope).

I can take my time and mow all of my property which totals about 3/4 acre worth of grass and have 25% battery remaining. For tall grass it skipped in a few places which requires a second pass. Since I am spoiled by the weight and thorough cutting of commercial mowers, I know what mowers are capable of.

This mower is not a commercial mower and keeping that in mind with the pricetag on this Ego, I can easily give it a 5 star review. A commercial grade mower can easily cost 5000 to 15000 more than the Ego, so in my opinion you get a really good value in the peace ofbmind that this mower will work eveytime you go out to the garage or shed and it will do a satisfactory job of cutting your grass.

Add to that the compatibility of batteries with other Ego products and this makes it a good mower.

Having owned 34 inch Arians zero turn gas mower with a 14 hp Briggs & Stratton engine (engine died after 5 years) ,and I have also owned a Ryobi 480me 38” electric riding mower both for 5 years ( battery was losing capacity) , I am neither new zero turn mowers or electric mowers.

Compared to the gas it’s refreshing to have quiet, reduced maintenance and not having to breathing the fumes especially when parking in the shed. I am able to cut my grass sideways in the ditch whereas my gas version I could only do up and down as it would just turn to the bottom.

It’s a crutch of all zero turn mowers but the Ego handles it much better. Compared to the prior will be electric with lead acid batteries, it has both way more power and better control of speed, blade speed and different control mode.

The lead acid batteries just did my acreage when they were new, the Ego I did my acreage and the ditch and I had 50% of the battery left. Being a zero turn it also does the job a lot faster as I have lots of obstacles and irregular shape of my lawn.

The Ego powertrain is quieter than the Ryobi electric. I haven’t cut any deep grass with it yet as I am currently in a drought and it’s the fall, so the real test will come in the spring. The only thing I don’t like about it is the deck makes a lot of noise when it’s going fast over bumps, a lot more than the other two mowers.

I think the frame is good because a lot of times and uneven surfaces when we will be in the air which suggests a strong frame but maybe you need some bushings just to get rid of the noise from the vibration in the deck, Ryobi had way less.

I also wish it came with 12 amp hour batteries. This is my first mower where you can attach a hose to clean the deck which to me is important. I also wish the batteries were under the seat to reduce overall length of the mower for easier storage but that’s just nitpicking.

Electric Cub Cadet Ride On Mower XT1LT42E Review We bought our Electric Cub Cadet Tractor last spring (2021). We have enjoyed it’s quiet, exhaust free, nimble performance both summer and winter. Pros • Fast • Nimble, as if it has power steering • Quiet, ear protection no longer necessary • Great endurance or range.

Cutting one acre grass, which takes about 45 minutes, uses approximately only 40% of its battery power. • Comfortable seat • Shifting the mower deck off or on is quick and very easy compared to my former gas-powered mower.

All it takes is a push of a button. • No exhaust fumes to smell and pollute the atmosphere • No messing around with smelly gasoline • No oil changes or spark plugs to replace • No belts to maintain • Removing the mower deck is quite easy to do just remove a couple quick pins and four quick disconnect power cables Cons • The mower deck height adjustment lever clangs and bangs when going over rougher ground.

I put a bungee on it to reduce this. • The tractor clunks loudly when stopping but I learnt how to reduce this by reducing the throttle more gradually. • Only one plastic key came with the tractor. Considering the cost of this tractor I find that this is being rather cheap on the part of the manufacturer.

• The blue on button on the dashboard. I find it is hard to distinguish between, when the tractor is on, and when the clutch is pushed in first and then tractor will actually move. • The digital display numbers showing percent of charge remaining do not show the top of the digits.

For example, a 7 looks like a 1 and a 9 looks like a 4. • The most annoying and frustrating part of this great tractor is the charger plug and port. Making a good connection is very finicky and causes a lot of error code numbers.

It usually takes three or four tries to get it to connect successfully.

Bought as a replacement for my ancient John Deere 300 Hydrostatic which has served me well for many years. Can’t really give an in depth review until I’ve used it for several seasons. First impression is that it has a nice tight turning radius and the deck cuts much better than my old John Deere.

It appears to be well made, perhaps not as sturdy as the old John Deere, but I don’t think any of the newer lawn tractors are built as tough as that old workhorse. Added the mulching attachment and a front bumper after an unfortunate encounter with a fire hydrant which resulted because the forward speed control pedal is in exactly the same position as the old John Deere brake pedal.

No major harm done but did require straightening some sheet metal. The ergonomics of this unit are quite nice. The seat has a good adjustment range and all the controls are well placed and easy to use.

I have high hopes for the Kohler engine which starts easily and runs smoothly. I would have probably been happier with the XT 2 model with its better tires as these do not grip as well as I would like on wet grass and mild hills.

The coil springs on the seat do make for a much more comfortable ride. I appreciate the ease with which the oil can be changed. All in all I am very happy with this unit so far.

Got it from Home Depot (local dealer didn’t have any :-); Price is $300 higher than Cub Cadet and many other sources. I did get the price match. Tractor was not very clean, HD employee hands me the key, I ask “are there 2 keys”, he says “I don’t know, maybe there’s one in that bag taped to the back of the seat”.

The bag only had documentation and what appears to be a connection to wash the inside of the mower deck and a short section of plastic hose (????). No explanation, no “Getting Started” guide, no basic operational/controls guide.

Wasn’t sure if there was oil in it, checked and there wasn’t. It’s like having a new lawn tractor left on your property and you have no intro to it. The Owners manual is for many models; it’s small, made of newspaper like material, tiny print (magnifying glass helps), reminds me of an Owners Manual for a piece of electronic equipment like a home sound system amplifier.

I don’t see the words Cub Cadet anywhere on/in the manual. There’s no Table of Contents, no index. Can’t tell if what you are reading applies or doesn’t apply to my specific tractor. I have no idea if I’m supposed to have two keys or what if anything else should have come with the tractor that I am missing.

I found a little plastic square cap sort of piece that says 12a (12 amps???) in the cup holder. Does this belong on my tractor? This is no way to begin with a very expensive piece of equipment. Found what oil I need in the owners manual and capcity in the Kohler owners manual.

The only manual on your site for this model is an assembly manual. I could go on but enough is enough.
