20 Best Trader Joes Cereal (2022 Updated)

Raison Bran could be an excellent five-star product, but it is ruined by coating the raisons with sugar. Not only does it make it unhealthy, it actually ruins the taste. Raisons are naturally sweet so this cereal is unappetizing due to the intense sweetness created by adding sugar to the raisons.

I have picked them out of the cereal also (just as the other reviewer stated) so I could enjoy eating the cereal. I absolutely agree with Daniel who posted the following. “Great if STOPPED coating “nature’s candy” in sugar” This really would be a great “simple inside” cereal, if Kellogg’s joined us in the 21st century, and stopped dusting “nature’s candy” (raisins) in sugar, as the cereal is sweet enough without the added sugar.

This shouldn’t have a bearing on other cereals as the people who buy Raisin Bran are mostly health conscious, like me, and are not going to buy the sugary varieties. How do I know that it has just the right sweetness without the added sugar? I take the time to remove all the raisins, thoroughly rinsing (massaging) them in warm filtered water to remove the sugar, and then spread them out on some kitchen towel (placed in a large baking tray), moving them around to soak up the excess water, and then allow them to dry for around a couple hours.

I then keep the raisins in an airtight container, which has the added advantage that I can add just the right amount for a single serving (I don’t like the taste if there are too many raisins). I also weigh out 1.

4 oz of the bran flakes for the perfect portion size, regardless of how big the flakes are.

No morning will ever start without coffee. That is a fact, or be very wary of this bald guy. From nice to mean, yet if that happens, Raisin Bran is also part of my breakfast routine. There’s a simple reason for this.

It’s relatively healthy, as raisins plus bran clears you out. To put it kindly it keeps your metabolism humming. Also I would proffer, that it’s one of the more delicious healthy cereals. No it’s not Fruit Loops which I cheat with while camping, but with some milk added, it’s a good flavor.

Also I like the semi crunchy texture. The only negative is brush your teeth a lot after eating this. Yes it sticks. Yet looking at the health and flavor advantages, this is a minor inconvenience. Available everywhere, be sure to look for couple and sales.

We have been Kellogg’s raisin bran fans for many years. All of a sudden, as of April and May 2022, something has drastically changed. Those classic flakes we all know have changed. They used to have a darker sort of glazed appearance to them, which tasted great and were easy to eat and swallow.

Now they have a drier and lighter tan appearance and are much harder to swallow. We have even felt like we were going to choke at times. I wish iconic brands like this would leave the formula that is so loved and well known alone.

We all know what happened when Coke tried to change it’s classic formula back in the 80s – disaster.

Ezekiel 4:9 is not a typical breakfast cereal. I choose it because it’s simply sprouted, very hearty whole grains. Because it’s so hearty, I’ve have learned to put less in the bowl and to slow down and fully chew every bite.

I’ve tried three flavors so far. I don’t like the raisin version, since I’d rather add my own fresher, softer raisins. I like the almond best. To it I add additional sliced almonds, also shaved coconut and diced date pieces.

Fresh, juicy peaches complement it well, too.

I eat this cereal because it is good for my health. It tastes awful so I don’t overeat breakfast. The outer box is flimsiest cardboard which is [I guess cheaper] and more sustainable, but usually arrives slightly crushed at the corners.

The box–I haven’t tried it, but I’ll bet that the box tastes better than the cereal. Now to the cereal itself: the grains are very, very tiny; the picture on the box must be a very tiny spoon, because it makes the cereal grains look much larger relative to the spoon, than it really is.

Poorly designed packaging ensures that the tiny grained cereal pours out around, outside the bowl as well as into the bowl. I took a chance and ordered a case of Ezekiel 4:9 containing all 3 “flavors”.

I am [slowly] working my way through the flavors. “Food for Life” touts Ezekiel 4:9 for its “flavor”. False advertising!.

A good natural breakfast cereal that has none of the nasties you usually find in the usual supermarket cereals. Don’t put too much in a bowl as it is very filling. I dont use sugar, as I don’t like it in c e reals or hot drinks and this can be topped up with berries or a banana for natural sweeter.

Crunchy like a cross between granola and grape nuts cereals. It can be used with milk or plant milks (almond milk is really nice with it). It can be hard to get used to if you are not used to really crunchy cereal.

Can be eaten hot or cold so it’s an all year around cereal.

I don’t really know why I really love this cereal but it helps with staving off hunger until lunchtime and with regularity. I know 10 gms of sugar is a lot, but parts of that sugar are molasses and barley malt which are good complex sugars.

This cereal would have to sit in the bowl for a very long time before it got soggy. It has never happened to me and sometimes I get it ready and then feed cats or kids or parent. I get back to it and it’s still got crunch.

It also have really nice flavor w/o a lot of sweet. There is some sugar of some form in it, but just a touch. If you didn’t tell me, I might be tempted to ask if there was any. But I guess that bit of sugar keeps it from being bitter.

There is just a nice oatmeal kind of flavor only with that crunch. I also find it kinda nice to eat dry, out of the box as a healthy snack alternative. BTW, Barbara’s uses non-GMO ingredients. I wish it came in a bigger box ! We go through it fast.

This oat cereal is very tasty! It has a bit of sweetness when you chew but not a sweet as other Oat Cereal (like Quaker’s version). Each piece is quite big so a few pieces are actually quite filling, especially for the morning!.

I tried different chocolate cereals, looking to satisfy my sweet tooth at night on occasion. This one is, by far, the best. I was looking for an organic cereal. Tried both of the choco chimps (and the choco with peanut butter), and it was not good.

Threw half the box away. This one with a little oat milk, and yes!! It’s a treat.

I love this cereal! I am sensitive to most chocolate, and this was the best I’ve ever had in that category. However, my tummy didn’t feel so well after a while, and I realised it was probably the corn.

I seem to have a hard time digesting that particular ingredient. It’s sad, because I REALLY love this! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this brand and especially this cereal to anyone. I probably could tolerate this in VERY small amounts, but that defeats the meaning of “breakfast” cereal!.

These are my all-time favorite cereal! They remind me of Cocoa Puffs for when I was little, but Cocoa Puffs ingredients are terrible. These are so delicious, and the ingredients are so much better! The best part is it doesn’t have a ton of iron like all the other cereals have, which is bad for you.

I kid you not, Joe’s O’s actually saved my marriage. Roberta Dinero, my wife, threatened to take my lovely 47 year-old son. I was going to kill myself maybe. Before I was going to asphyxiate myself with a Glad trash bag, I thought “I’d really like some Joe’s O’s.

” So that’s what I did. When my wife came over to gloat about me not having custody over Gilberta Gotfried, son “trans”. She saw that I was eating Joe’s O’s and had a change of heart. She took me back and we made hot shmeaty love on a bed of Joe’s O’s.

It was pretty swell. We did it in front of Gilberta. She had a heart attack but I didn’t care too much. When we finished three minutes later we just put some good ‘ol Joe’s O’s in her- I mean his mouth.

That stopped the heart attack thank zues. All in all I am grateful to Joe’s O’s for saving my marriage. Actually now that I think about it, it may have been Cheerios.

This is just like Cheerios with absolutely no taste difference. The only difference is the price. My daughter could live off of Cheerios so I buy this because it’s such a large box for only a fraction of the price, and is also cheaper than other grocery store generics.

Affordable! Low in calories and sugar. Good for a light meal to kick start my day. I wish the box served more. It only last a few bowls. Add sliced strawberries on top. By far my favorite cereal to buy from TJ’s.

I love that these have literally no sugar in it. You feel good eating it it is addicting to me because you can add your own type of flavors like you can add your own nuts or your own cinnamon anything you like you can add onto this and it will taste amazing.

It’s obviously the best price ever, it is two dollars for a good amount that you can pay six dollars at the store.

Everyone in my house likes this cereal, we probably get this cereal more than any others. Crunchy bite size flat squares, with plenty of cinnamon and sugar on each piece. Once milk is added the milk takes on a wonderful buttery cinnamon sugar taste, which is AMAZING all on it’s own.

The cereal tastes great, until it’s gets soggy, at that pt there is no saving it 😂 you can also make CTC Bars with this cereal. However this size is great!! My kids can take it with them if they aren’t done eating their breakfast.

I love individual bowls too because if everyone wants a different cereal they can get these instead of big boxes where most times it gets stale before they eat it all.

I’m a cinnamon freak so I love it. Eat quickly or it loses the “Crunch”. Keep stirring in the bottom circumferential slot to keep some of the cinnamon from becoming unrecoverable when you’ve finished the milk and tasty cereal.

These GENERAL MILLS CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH breakfast cereal, is cinnamon toast in a bowl, the cinnamon isn’t too overpowering, and they are perfectly balanced with sweetness. Made on whole wheat and rice.

GENERAL MILLS is the same company that make LUCKY CHARMS, one of America’s favourite breakfast cereal. Yes! These cereals are expensive here in Australia, however that is because you’re also paying to have these imported here, I see it as we are lucky to get them at all.

Lots of nuts and raisins. You need to like raw oats though. Muesli gets mushy in milk but the oats make it chewy. I’ve been mixing it with the maple granola which adds some crunch and sweetness.

Good mix of ingredients. I had it this morning with almond milk and blueberries! Best of all, it’s organic.

This cereal is a nice change from an oat base. It’s really crunchy. I add a small handful into Greek yogurt with a little fruit. It doesn’t have a lot of flavor, so you make it taste like what you want! If I eat it on it’s own, I throw a little vanilla or chocolate protein powder into my hemp milk for some added flavor.

I bought this cereal after much debate at the 589 price tag. I bought it because I am a diabetic and it was low and sugar and had protein. I don’t eat much and thought this is a great way to get some extra protein in the morning.

I don’t like the flavor very much. I should have tried the chocolate or the fruity one. I have to drown this one out with bananas or fruit to be able to eat it.

Love these. Cheaper than the other healthy chocolate O’s NM sells, and also has much softer/more authentic cereal texture. You don’t have to let these sit in the milk for a while to become less rock hard, in fact if you do they become super soft like normal cereal.

I have a cereal obsession! It’s definitely my number one choice when I want a sweet snack. I buy multiple brands and like to mix them together. Right now I love to mix Raisin Bran with Special K Red Berries and/or Vanilla Almond, and I will grab the box of Raisin Bran and snack on it dry as well.

I have always loved bran cereals and they are not lying when they advertise the 2 scoops of raisins – there’s always a raisin or two in every bite. I like that it’s high in fiber and low in calories, although it’s high in carbs but I will remain loyal to it.

I buy it every time I go grocery shopping. (Also love the Raisin Bran Crunch – YUM)!.

I really enjoy this cereal. The raisins are juicy and plump. I love the sugar coating on top. The bran flakes aren’t too thick and taste great. There are a lot of raisins in the cereal, but there never ever seems to be enough.

Though it could be because my kids like picking them out for a separate snack.

I used to hate Raisin Bran when I was a kid, even growing up I could never stand the taste. However, when they introduced Raisin Bran Crunch to the mix I decided to give it another try. This was a great addition.

I was finally able to eat it. The sweet raisins mixed with the little crunch clusters are absolutely delicious. I like to mix a little half and half into my milk and make it a little creamier. This has become one of my favorite cereals now.

Hey shoppers! I’ll be the 1st to admit this cereal is not my go to for a snack, straight out of the box. But, getting past that and moving to the good part. I take a big plastic bowl, add one sleeve of the Fiber One (there’s 2), approximately the same amount of a bite size shredded wheat cereal and twice as much of a bran flake cereal.

Carefully fold/stir until lightly mixed, you don’t want crumbles. I use a 1/2 gallon ( -) tall round plastic food container with a screw lid. I use a 2 cup plastic measuring cup to fill the container (it helps to keep from breaking up the bran flakes) but you can use what ever you have.

It should fill it just about perfect ( 1 bowl sometimes!). Whether you add fruit, honey and whichever your milk of choice, it’s a delicious, very healthy choice. Fiber One keeps the crunch, brings a nutty flavor for your taste buds and then of course there’s the fiber which we all need and that’s what this cereal is all about.

Don’t forget to top it off with yogurt of your choice and you’ve just about got dessert! My family has been eating Fiber One for over 15 years and I am certain that it is one of the main reasons for our maintained good health.

I also use Fiber One when making meatloaf, stuffing mix for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just about anywhere you used to use saltines, try Fiber One instead. I also put it in the food processor to grind it up and add it to my smoothies!.

I just love FIber One! I love that they have left this cereal alone the last 10 years or so and haven’t tried to change something. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it! Fiber One is the best cereal to keep you regular and that’s free of sugar, unlike those other bran cereals that have over a teaspoon of sugar per serving.

Yes, it has Sucralose (Splenda) but that is the most tested (and proven safe) alternative artificial sweetener on the market, so I don’t care. I eat 1/2 cup of this cereal per day with 1 Activia Light (no added sugar, fat free) yogurt – blueberry, peach, or strawberry banana flavor and pair it with frozen sliced strawberries and a little low-fat kefir or almond milk to thin it out.

I just love Fiber One and it has done a number of good things for my digestion, regularity, and overall gut health. The vitamins and minerals also seem to boost my energy and support my overall health.

This is my favorite cereal General Mills makes and aside from plain Cheerios, the only one that’s low enough in sugar for me to consider eating. 60 calories in just 1/2 cup? Yes please! I bought several boxes from Sam’s and the delivery was perfect.

I originally bought this because it has 0g sugar and 18g of fiber, not expecting a taste other than cardboard. My first bowl I poured unsweetened vanilla almond milk over top and sliced up half a banana in it- I really enjoyed it!! I’ve even had it without adding a banana and still thought it was great! I’ve been eating a serving of this cereal every day for breakfast for the last 2 weeks and have recommended it to others.

It is unfortunately expensive at $5. 49 a box from Kroger’s, but if you follow the 40g serving size, there’s actually quite a few bowls in there! It’s my new favorite cereal that I feel good about eating(and actually look forward to).

I’m following a Type 2 diabetes prevention program on an app (I have much higher than normal risk for “T2D” and really don’t want it, plus I don’t like my current weight), and it kept yelling at me to eat more whole grains and fiber.

I added this cereal to my diet to appease the app. Most cereals do not fill me up at all and I’m hungry again minutes later, but this does a good job of keeping me full. It tastes okay with milk and berries, but I usually eat cereal dry because it’s easier to take with me dry.

This cereal, when dry, rates 4 out of a possible 5 on the cardboard scale. It still tastes decent, which is why it’s not a full 5 out of 5. Cardboard texture is all there, with a bit of cardboard taste, but the sucralose must be doing its job to keep it edible.

At this point in my life I care more about sticking with my diet than I do about how this one part of my meal tastes, so I’ll eat this stuff daily, because it checks all of the really important boxes, and I find it tolerable.

These are great! I love the cute square shape, and the flavor is awesome! Chewy, semi-sweet, with a just enough chunks of chocolate on top. And the chia seeds inside give it a nice crunch. Plus, they’re gluten free, so I share them with my dad who has Celiac disease.

He loves them too.

Thes granola bars are fantastic. I was on the lookout for a healthy options with high-quality ingredients when I came across them. I only wish there were more in the box

Do not buy this product. I was mid chew when I found not one but TWO wood chips in my bar. They are lucky I did not choke. They will be lucky if they do not hear from my attorney. Also taste is mediocre.

The one star is for Walmart, not the cereal. My Mother will only eat this cereal. And, there is not a Walmart anywhere close to me that I can reasonably drive to to buy it. So, I have been ordering this cereal for quite some time and it was shipped directly to us.

Well, it seems that Walmrt is slowly removing the shipping option from all that it sells. First, it was soda’s (one type and then another), and then its store brand olives, and then certain chocolate, and now its the birdseed that we buy for her parakeets.

One by one each item was available for shipping and now even this box of bran cereal has to be picked up from the store. If Walmart will pay for my gas to get there, I will happily make an order ahead of time to pick up.

Why in the world is this happening? The cereal has always been in stock so that is not the issue with this item. And, still many other products have gone from available to ship to pickup only. This is clearly not a stocking issue.

I am really disappointed in Walmart. If I have to drive to get it, then I will give my business to a local vendor in lieu of driving as far as I would have to drive to buy it and a boat load of other things too.

One by one, Walmart has taken away so many of the items I buy that would ship to me and this service is very helpful since I am disabled. So, I will have to look elsewhere I suppose, more local for the items I buy so I do not have to drive halfway to neverland to get to the closest Walmart.

I am so very disappointed in Walmart. Can’t your company do better than this???.

Found this on Sam’s website and giggled with joy. Have not seem Raisin Nut Bran since mid 1980’s when I would purchase it as a treat for my oldest son. Brought back joyful memories of finding the box of cereal in his closet or under his bed so no one else could have any.

So my recent purchase was my first time ever enjoying this cereal and it was everything he raved about. He is now 48 yo and lives several hours away but I have a box set aside to take to him. It surely will be appreciated after we all get a good laugh.

Can it really still be called raisin nut bran? I havent had this since the early nineties had an average size bowl this morning it contained 2 raisins and 4 almond slivers. Seems to me it should now be called flakes with the possibility of getting a nut or raisin.

I love Mini Spooners and I love being able to get them delivered to home. Any other day I would give five starts. But my recent order arrived without any packaging material, just the bag of cereal in a large shipping box.

The box must have been thrown around quite a bit as 75% of the bag of cereal is crumbs.

I was going to call Malt o Meal but haven’t gotten around to it. Seems to me that one of the three bags I bought taste different. Yes, I wondered if it was me, my taste buds acting weird, so I opened the second bag and it tasted normal.

Also, when I checked the sell by date on the bottom of the bag, I noticed it said “genetic engineering”. Hmmm. What does that mean exactly? Anyhow, it’s not bad, or old, just taste different from the others.

I’ve had this problem before when buying bags from here. I usually buy this cereal elsewhere (from a home improvement store of all places) where it’s a lot cheaper, but when I can’t get there I order online.

Maybe the genetic engineering is causing it. 🙂 Who knows.

My husband already eats Nature’s Path wheat flakes so I purchased these to try. They are very good. I like them for the oat taste and definitely the CRUNCH! They tasted fresh and 2 lbs. is a lot. So, now hubby mixes them together and enjoys a healthy, organic breakfast cereal mix.

I’ve been buying this cereal for awhile now. Initially, I liked it because it was low in sugar, but I was shocked when I had read the nutrition facts on my recently purchased bag and saw that you have increased the amount of added sugar.

Before, there were 2 grams of added sugar per 30 grams. Now, there are 7 grams of added sugar. I did see that you increased the serving size to 60 grams. However, this would only double the amount of added sugar to 4 grams if it were the same recipe.

I’m disappointed and will no longer be purchasing this cereal.

Since the pandemic left me to use a grocery delivery service and that made my favorite cereal unavailable. So I tried Nature’s Path Organic Multigrain Oat-bran Flakes Cereal and am glad I did. I will not go back to my old favorite.

This cereal tastes great and we will likely buy it again. Yes, it’s got wheat and it’s got sugar, but for occasional consumption, it’s a nice option to have in the pantry.

I love all of the moms best cereals. My kids say they taste weird compared to the more popular counterparts and I explain that it’s because these are made with better ingredients. Haha. These go on sale a lot too but they’re still not as cheap as the bigger brands.

I’ve been buying Mom’s sweetened wheatfuls for sometime now. They’re great for me as a diabetic and they taste good. It’s a great value because of the 1 lb box and a discount on the price.

Not sure how this can be called Mom’s Best Cereal and have 18g of sugar per cup/serving. This is more than typical sugary cereals I avoid and near the maximum recommended amount of grams of sugar a child should consume in a day.

Add milk and you’ve gone over the sugar gram max in breakfast alone. I noticed the sugar content while we were eating breakfast and couldn’t believe how much sugar this had! We may as well be eating candy bars for breakfast.

I bought this online on a whim because I’ve seen it near the other organic, less sugary cereals and needed a quick cereal option for drive-up. My mistake. I regret not looking at the nutrition info like I regularly do.

I would not have purchased it if I would have seen the number of grams of sugar. Just want other families be informed.

Yum. I’m an adult but I like to have a bowl of this now and then to satisfy a sweet craving. And I don’t feel like the worst parent giving it to my kiddo occasionally. I appreciate the lack of artificial ingredients that many other cereals have.

Especially good topped with fresh strawberries or bananas ;-).

Literally THE BEST cereal ever. Our entire family enjoys this cereal and I appreciate knowing that the ingredients are NOT 100% junk. They have such a great flavor and turn the milk chocolate, which is a fun treat at the end 🙂 I feel like the price point is fantastic for a product that prioritizes healthier ingredients than your run-of-the-mill sugary cereal.

This cereal is a no-nonsense, healthful oat cereal with simple ingredients It’s pleasantly crisp, with a MILDLY sweet and appealing flavor. Initially, the plain flavor seems understated, but it absolutely grows on you with each bite — even out of the box with nothing added.

And it doesn’t have the excessive levels of added “reduced iron” as with most breakfast cereals. Nor is it sprayed with carcinogenic glyphosate which is presently used as a preharvest dessicant for oats, wheat, corn and many other crops.

And because this cereal is plain, you can “dress it up” according to your tastes. For myself, as an indescribably delicious, healthful treat, I add 2X nonfat milk powder, a teaspoon of cocoa, a tablespoon of melted, organic coconut oil, a generous sprinkle of cinnamon, a packet of stevia, mixed with hot purified water, a cup of frozen, wild blueberries, and the result is a chilled,chocolaty thick milk shake in a bowl with chocolaty O’s.

In contrast, the flavor of any other cereal clashes with these tasty, healthful ingredients.

I have this cereal every morning and I add 1 tablespoon of raisins and Elmhurst almond milk and have no issues with my stomach. I have GIRD and can suffer greatly if I eat certain foods like sugar free chocolate which I can no longer tolerate.

This is very difficult for me as I am a sweetaholic/chocoholic.

These had absolutely no taste and they were dry and stale tasting. I had to throw them out. In light of that I would certainly not recommend this to be purchased by others.
