20 Best Trader Joe’S Pasta (2022 Updated)

Sorry, but No. Contrary to the other good reviews, we did not like this at all. We’ve tried various veggie-based pastas before, and all were delicious. This pasta had a distinct bitter taste, as well as an off-putting spongy texture that I couldn’t get past.

Normally, you can’t go wrong pairing fettuccine with garlicky alfredo sauce, pine nuts and freshly grated parm-regg cheese. Well, this time, we couldn’t even finish it, and tossed the lot. What a waste of delicious sauce, nuts and cheese.

Doesn’t even deserve one star in my opinion, but can’t leave zero stars.

I used the recipe on the back of the box for Black Bean Spaghetti with Vegetables and tofu in a Savor Sauce. It says you should add the balanced veggies, but doesn’t tell you what to blanch. I didn’t blanch anything, and I did not use the tofu.

The sauce was not very good, it’s pretty bland. I ended up using lots of different veggies, fresh basil, thyme and green onion from the garden and it was salvageable, but I would not make it again. This is not black been pasta, and it’s made in China.

I won’t buy this product again either.

DeCecco pasta is always on chef’s and hobbyist cook’s year end’s “Best of Lists” for grocery store pasta. There are reasons why it stands out far beyond any of it’s price range, not only is it 100% semolina flour, they cut it with bronze dies.

Why that matters is that causes the final product to have a golden color and a rougher, more pours texture vs Teflon which almost all mass producing companies use (cheaper and faster). Each pasta is filled with tiny imperfections that captures small particles of the sauce.

thus, your home cooked pasta will look, smell and taste better than using another pasta. They go on sale all the time. spend a few pennies more and you’ll never go back. Ciao!.

We buy the same product but whole wheat. It’s fantastic! Pasta stays perfectly al dente and it’s delicious. And this kind, mezzi rigatoni, is good to always have at home because it comes handy for basically any pasta recipe.

This pasta format is good as others from De Cecco brand. What we like about this format is it is much more manageable by our 4 years old son: just the right size

Not the best reheated but this pasta is such a fun and delicious gluten free pasta choice. We favor it with a little butter, sweet baby peas, and scrambled eggs or with a classic bolognese. The oats will breakdown second day.

So it’s not the best to save for leftovers.

I really enjoyed this pasta. Great alternative if you’re trying to find a healthier pasta choice. But, if you tend to dislike the taste of healthier pastas, it might not be the best option.

I LOVE THIS PASTA, Banzaa was a no go for me. So i tried Trader Joes version (I would say). I truthfully have not tried anything that matches this. I am very picky with “healthy” foods and because pasta is just amazing, its hard to stray away from whiet grain.

THIS MADE IT EASY, MUST BUY if you are looking for healthy alternative.

My one complaint was that these tended to leave a weird residue when I drained the pasta. Otherwise, they tasted great and I felt like they were a slightly healthier alternative to some other gluten free pastas that are just corn based.

And Trader Joe’s is so affordable you can stock a few of these in the cabinet easily.

This texture is a little weird – not my favorite gluten free pasta but others seem to like it. The price is reasonable so recommend it for others to try and see what they think.

Not only does this pasta have great flavor, but its surface texture is a bit rough and when cooked helps to hold onto whatever your favorite sauce is. I grew up on Muellers, transitioned to Bertolli later as an adult but once I found Rustichella, I have not gone back.

I really like to cook, but I don’t get to do it very often. When I make my special Cajun shrimp in Parmesan cream sauce, I am only going to use the best linguine on the planet. This is it.

The Rao’s penne rigate stays together/maintains it shape well when being used in a baked pasta dish. I have also found that this penne stands up well with a heavy sauce, such as a meat sauce, an Alfredo sauce, or even when paired with meat like sausage, meatballs, or chunks of bracciole.

I have even used it successfully in pasta Primavera dishes. Whenever I serve this specific brand of penne, I get compliments as “the sauce really stays on this penne” or “this penne is perfectly al dente.

” Is it the recipe, the cook, or the specific brand of pasta? Or maybe a touch of all 3? All I know is that for holidays and special occasions, this is the only penne I buy.

Personally I think this pasta is thicker than others which I really enjoyed. It held homemade sauce really well and when cooked al dente, wasn’t too crunchy. It is more expensive than Barilla and others, but I would buy again.

Not necessarily my Tuesday night buttered noodles go to, but for more formal times.

Penne is a popular dish in my home, and Rao’s is our go-to brand. I like that the portion is generous, and the pasta does not get mushy when cooked. The pasta sauce mixes well with the penne and I like the size as it is not too big.

Highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good penne to add to their pantry.

Pasta is really good. Love the flavor and taste when you cook it. We have been buying this brand and type of paste for years so definitely a repeat buying and definitely would recommend to others. I would probably change the look of the brand.

It’s been this way for as long as I can remember and I’m in my 20s.

Just like every other pasta. I won’t complain either talk a lot of a regular pasta but it is okay. I pick whatever meets my eye based on the amount of packaged pasta. I don’t really care about the brands cause they all taste the same lol.

What it matters is how you cook it.

Absolutely my favorite spaghetti from the grocery store. Unlike other grocery store brands, it’s bronze-dried and extruded, so the pasta has a rough texture perfect for clinging to sauces. It’s a bit pricier than other brands, but worth it for the excellent results.

I’ve been buying different brands of whole wheat pasta to find out the one that we prefer. This pasta is good, but still has a bit too much wheat taste to it. Texture is OK, but nothing special. I would buy this again only if the pasta that I prefer (einkorn wheat) were not available.

I love whole wheat pasta and my husband hates it. I usually make mine with whole wheat and his with regular. I do find that this brand in while wheat is harder to get al dente than others. It seems like the margin for error is greater and that perfect texture window is pretty small.

I had issues with the pasta being overlooked and almost falling apart or being chewy (not al dente). Not my favorite from a texture standpoint, but the flavor is good.

I love pasta and this is one of my go it’s that I buy. It’s so good, cooks easily, quickly and evenly. It’s also 100% organic which is amazing! It’s super affordable and great quality for the price. Overall I’m very satisfied.

First let me say that Fiber Gourmet makes the best low carb pasta out there, bar none. You cannot tell the difference between their pasta than regular high carb pasta. The reason for that is that they don’t attempt to bring the carbs down so ridiculously low like The Great Low Carb Bread Company’s pasta or Thin Slim Impastable Low Carb pasta which tastes, to me, like chalk and takes forever to cook.

If you’re a lover of pasta, a real true lover of pasta that must have some occasionally even on low carb diet, this is the best choice, hands down. And if you really love pasta, there’s no way you can eat those keto pastas.

They just don’t taste like pasta. However, Fiber Gourmet, once again has changed their formula, and has moved their production over to Italy (the company is still in the US, so don’t worry) and because they’re using this new machine to make their pasta, the ones that Netrition carries will be run out eventually and be replaced by this new formula, which has increased their calories by 10 per serving and increased their carbs by 1.

It’s not terrible, but I am disappointed. What’s most disappointing is that they will no longer be making their linguine and are replacing it with spaghetti, which Netrition carries, now. I can’t wait to try it in hopes it was better than their last attempt at spaghetti which was a failure in my estimation as it cooked up quite mushy.

So get these older ones while you can that Netrition has before they run out and Netrition has to stock up on the new ones. The company started out at 130 calories per serving with 23 grams of fiber, then they lowered their calories to 100 with 17 grams of carbs.

Now their new pasta is 110 calories a serving with 18 grams of carbs. While that is high if you’re strict keto, which I’m not, it’s very doable on a low carb diet!.

I have always wanted to try “Skinny” pasta. The Skinny Konjac Fettucine Pasta I purchased seemed like a quality product. The taste was not bad, especially after being in the soup broth for a while. It is the texture I didn’t care for.

They were rubbery. It didn’t seem to matter how long I cooked them, they stayed rubbery. I will not buy Skinny pasta again, but they are probably fine for most people.

I usually make my own pasta, but I was creating a special recipe and needed a particular shape. When I saw this torchiette, I knew it would be good. but WOW! Absolutely took my recipe to the next level.

Probably one of the best meals I’ve ever made (and I’m an experienced home chef with decades of cooking behind me). Highly recommend this pasta. Thank you for making it available.

I absolutely love this pasta! It has a solid texture and a great taste. Any pasta sauce I use adheres to this pasta very well due to its structure and texture. I highly recommend it!

This felt “digestible”, and didn’t sit for hours in the stomach weighing us down. We also did not feel sleepy after eating it, like most pasta does to us! So however it’s made, I assume it digests quicker than most pasta.

It also tasted pretty good, like any pasta would. We would buy it again.

I use the Orzo WW pasta mostly to make homemade dog food for my two pups. The recipe calls for whole wheat pasta. This is nice & small easy for my older dog to chew. They both love it & I do too!!

I read that it would take some adjustment to get used to whole wheat pasta after a lifetime of regular pasta. But because the whole wheat is much better for my health (heart), I decided to go ahead and put myself through that adjustment.

But, first bite. this stuff is great. I like the taste and texture of it better than regular spaghetti. Now I eat it regularly, with spaghetti sauce or whatever I want to do with it. This brand, DeLallo is very, very good.

My local grocery stores don’t carry orzo pasta anymore so I’m so glad that Vitacost does. Even better is that they carry it in the wholegrain variety. It is healthier and has a good flavor.

Box says net weight 16 oz. At 2 oz. dry per serving, that is supposed to be 8 servings. Weighed 4 oz. on a very accurate scale – once, twice, three times. Upon weighing the third 4 oz. portion, the remainder in the box appeared to be less than what was on my scale.

Poured out the scale portion and poured in the rest, it was 2 oz. – so the box was short 2 oz. So what’s going on here – New box net weight but using old box? Machine pouring error? Unless there are scales available to weigh these boxes before I put into my cart, I’m now going to be wary of buying boxed pasta.

But hey, the pasta was good.

Very happy with everything. Especially as I was given a pasta machine for Christmas. Great products, and with pizza and pasta to bash out, I should be back for more ere long !

i have been using Stoates organic flour, white and wholemeal, mixed with Marino 00 flour for some time now. I make 3 loaves a week and since using these ingredients and this mixture, all of the loaves have turned out amazingly well.

The taste and the texture is enjoyed by all of my family, so I will continue to use these products and buy them from Bakery Bits, because they offer a good service and first rate ingredients at a good price.

Oh, what a joy, oh what pasta! The best linguini I ever cooked…the grainy feel to touch tells it all and is a sign of good things to come. This is the pasta of beauty.

My recipe for pasta salad called for orzo. Selected this one and cooked according to package directions. It was delicious with just the right amount of tooth. Would buy again!

I find this brand of orzo very starchy. Hard to cook (quickly becomes mushy). I’ll stick to the other brands since they appear to be better, and cost less money.

Wow! You ever buy something and think “why wasn’t this invented sooner?” because it seems so simple and yet, so perfect? These noodles fit the bill! You do not need to break them to ensure your noodles cook evenly and no particles are sticking out! They just slide into the water and fully submerge… like a good noodle should.

And then when you are eating them covered in sauce you can twirl once and enjoy! No need to cut the noodles to ensure you only get an amount that actually fits your mouth. Also, when you are trying to shove said noodles into your mouth the one stray noodle that maybe hangs out isn’t so long that it whips back and forth getting sauce all over your face when you suck the noodle in to eat.

Like, seriously, why weren’t spaghetti noodles made this way originally? It just makes sense.

I wanted to make pasta primavera quickly at a friend’s home. Accordingly, I prepped all the veggies ahead so they’d be ready for a quick stir-fry. I Googled and found instructions for pre-cooking pasta up to 48 hours ahead.

I followed those instructions and stored the pasta overnight in a plastic bag. The pasta worked beautifully with the veggies–the texture was perfect.

Terrible quality. I never thought you could mess up something as simple as spaghetti. When I first opened the package I thought I had gotten a defective batch because it was so brittle and had this weird stripey appearance—then I looked at the reviews and realized it’s just bad pasta.

It breaks easily leaving you with a bowl of skimpy 2 inch pieces. Spend the extra 20 cents on barilla.

Pasta is reasonable quality, especially for the price. Only problem is that recently my boxes have been underweight. I always portion pasta by weight, and recently it hasn’t been adding up quite right.

I bought a new box and it measured it new to get 15 oz instead of the promised 16 oz. Still a great price but a little dishonest.

Good&Gather Farfalle pasta taste good any way you want to make it. I made a garlic pasta with these and it went so fast I forgot I had made it and was about to make another. It also taste great in shrimp pasta.

The quality is amazingly good for such a low price. This brand is starting to become a favorite.
