20 Best Trading Card Game (2022 Updated)

Was slightly disappointed with this purchase. As a collector I had ordered this mostly to display the tin and it had a deep cut in the middle of the tin. It looks like someone had accidentally cut it with a box cutter.

Everything else was great though and I got really good pulls from the included packs including 2 V cards, a holo rare, and 2 non holo rares.

My son received this for Christmas and he is a big fan of Pikachu and Charizard so it was perfect. He was excited for the cards but the extras really made this great. He really liked the notepad, stickers, and mini card holder for favorites.

I personally think Pokemon stuff is overpriced in general but we were lucky enough to get this on sale so it felt like decent value.

My daughter bought this for my son and although he loved it, one of the rivets used to hinge the box I’d broken and so he doesn’t use it. Management said because it was all opened they couldn’t help and neither would the manufacturer.

Not many actual Pokemon cards in this pack and the ones there were had doubles. There was even 4 of the same card. Not worth the price in my opinion.

Staff kept hold of the product for me till I could collect. Very helpful.

Only Booster box that was in stock was Ultra Prism so went ahead and ordered it. Delivered very fast and packaged well as usual. Booster box arrived in perfect condition. Packs looked good. Pulls were horrible.

36 packs and only 10 white code cards in the box. The weird thing was, one of the white code card packs had a regular rare in it which I never seen before. Ended up just getting 1 full art trainer, 2 GX, 6 Holo rares and 2 Prism cards.

Probably worst pull rate from any booster I’ve opened. Giving this a 4 star strictly for the speedy service.

Ordered a booster box for my kids! Wasnt sure about it at first but the box came sealed along with the individual packs. Cards were great quality cards with many great varieties of Pokémon. First two packs opened my kids got a rainbow rare charzard gx and rainbow rare raichu gx.

The joy on their faces getting 2 of the cards they have always wanted was priceless! They have sense opened all the others and have started building their Pokémon decks with many more great cards within in the booster packs.

Definitely will be coming back for more!.

It’s not GameNerdz’ fault, but getting one trainer, a handful of repeat/dupes and no new/unique cards for my collection really sucks. DA has been the least rewarding of all the SW/SH sets and this one was no different.

HOWEVER – the packaging was quite good and I appreciate everything GN does to protect your purchases. I simply won’t be buying Darkness Ablaze again.

I hated everything!!!!! This box was hot garbage! The only good thing about it. Was the sleeves. N the box itself. We got nothing! No good cards and many doubles no triples! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Disappointed.

Once again the Pokemon card game does not disappoint! This trainer box is every bit as good as the others. High-quality dice, sleeves, and a great box to store everything in. Also, this set adds quite a bit to the game with the fusion strike cards.

If you like the Pokemon card game, this set will keep that good feeling going.

My daughter is obsessed with Pokemon so she was extremely happy when she opened this on Christmas morning. You get a bunch of sleeves that have Mew on them, dice, a bunch of energy cards, a book and some booster packs.

She got a few good pulls from the packs and loves everything that came in the box. Would definitely recommend for any Pokemon fan!.

The Astral Radiance etb cards within each pack were the issue. The quality of cards are the poorest I’ve experienced in 20+ years of collecting. Each pack had at least four (4) cards with visible damage.

Two (2) packs had eight (8) cards with highly visible damage. Four (4) examples below; i. e. water damage, visible indented marks, and perimeter of entire card (multiple cards) damaged.

Astral radiance is a great set but sadly only had 1 decent pull from the 8 packs. I will defo be ordering more astral radiance but won’t be buying an etb. Defo worth getting a booster box

My grandson loves games, like Pokémon and Minecraft, and collects Pokémon cards. He is very knowledgeable as a collector so enjoyed the protective sleeves for his best cards, His parents say this feature means there aren’t as any cards on the floor now!.

Bought this kit in the hopes of teaching my kiddos to learn and play the game. I expected this to have all the necessary cards to create a decent deck. However, that was not the case. There were not enough trainer and energy cards.

For those who collect for value, this kit is probably just okay as I didn’t really get any valuable cards. This is expected because these kits can be hit or miss.

I bought 5 boxes fromChoiceA on Mercari. Not tampered with at all. I do not like buying 3rd party but ChoiceA came through. Even after I bugged about cancelling. They assured me it was not some resealed garbage.

Well, it most definitely was not resealed. All the boxes were sealed and mint. Got some really good pulls first 2 boxes and then BANG got 2 amazing rates. Great holos to in the 4th box. I will definitely buy from him again.

The Darkness Ablaze Elite Trainer Box was amazing got good hits and my son was over the moon when he received it! The Collector Store really does a great job having items available and delivering everything in pristine condition.

Vmax Climax is a great Japanese Pokemon Card set to get into. The set is made up of previous Japanese sets with a few new cards mixed in. You get 10 packs with a hit (V rarity or higher) in every pack.

There is also a large trainer gallery subset with some beautiful cards. Typically, you will receive 3-4 trainer gallery cards in a box (10 packs) and 1 secret rare card. There is also a small chance of getting a god pack which contains all rare cards.

Overall, this a really fun set to open. You could open multiple boxes of it and not get the same card twice.

This is the best set in years, hands down. There are three types of god pack, I pulled the CHR/CSR god pack. Instead of the usual three CHRs and one CSR per booster box, I got 8 CHRs and 5 CSRs! The art is amazing, the pulls are fantastic even if you don’t get a god pack, I will be buying more of this set, especially because the character rares are my favorite card type Pokemon’s ever had and not all of them from this set will be in the English Brilliant Stars.

My six year old is crazy about pokemon cards. This set comes with three playable pre-built decks (60 cards / deck, 180 total including 3 holos), a playing board, a coin, and instructions. Note, if you’re already an avid pokemon card collector and are looking for rare / non duplicative cards, this may not be for you.

Very beginner friendly, we (including myself – a female in her 30s), learned how to actually play pokemon and we had enough cards to do it properly. Before aquiring this set, we would just buy booster packs for our son and he would just make up his own rules.

I ordered this as a gift for my 10-year-old son who has just started getting into Pokémon. It has been helpful to learn the basics of playing. The set up directions for the basic game are a little confusing and we had read a few times before it started to make sense.

My son also got really excited when he first opened it and wanted to lay out all the cards out so he could look at them which was fine but the numbers on the card are teeny tiny so it took a long time to reorganize them to play.

Overall, I would recommend this game for Pokémon beginners.

This was a Christmas present for our family and it was the hit of our Christmas holiday!! Finally, we learned to play Pokémon after a year of collecting the cards. My 3 and 5 year old learned to play with our assistance in reading the cards and directions.

Still a game that will require our help until at least one of them can read. We had so much fun with it and was able to build several other decks to use. Totally worth the price and I recommend spending the time to learn if you have kids into Pokémon.

Great product for starting out in standard Pokemon and can be easily be updated to be more competitive. I would recommend buying two and using the better cards to upgrade. With a few singles brought on eBay you can have an awesome deck in no time.

Mostly trainer and water energy cards. Repeat of the 2 hologram cards. My kid was disappointed with this deck. I should have read the details. Will not buy cards online again.

The product arrived with all my other ones in a giant box that had been well taken care of, so not a single one of them had a single scratch. Since it was online shopping and I’ve sadly seen frauds about pokemon cards, I was a bit sceptical, but everything was fine.

Though there are the specific starter decks and sets, I think these are the best way to get into Pokémon. Jump into a recent expansion, read the enclosed rules (including deck-building help) and the expansion rules and you’re away.

You might not get enough cards to make a really coherent deck, but you get a big bundle of energy cards to make sure you can get pretty close to one. That, and having boosters instead of a defined set of cards feels like a more fun way to get involved.

They also have room for far more cards than they come with and come with card dividers, so you’ll be able to keep it tidy. Overall, a great choice.

My experience was great!! I finally decided to order because you were doing the gold card promotion, and though I didn’t get the gold card I wanted (which is in no way a problem still love it!) But not only did it arrive before it said it would, I was able to pull 2 go cards and a rainbow Brawly card!! Will definitely be ordering again in the future!!!!.

Nice variety of booster packs (3 Brilliant Stars, 2 Fusion Strike, 1 Evolving Skies, 1 Chilling Reign) in a Professor Juniper deck box w Velcro closure. The deck sleeves are also a Professor Juniper design w matte front which may be less appealing to some.

The carton itself is VERY easy to open, to the point I’d be concerned about re-sealing, but I know Over the Brick is a highly reputable shop with excellent customer service and have no worries from this venue.

This box of mostly trainers looks beautiful and is a great addition to any collection. You get a few holo trainers to add to the binder as well as the battle decks and a nice set of green sleeves for a grass type deck ( I like to color sleeves to types).

Came in great condition. Lots of stuff to be gotten and I got 4 legendary/ holo and shiny cards in only 2 of the packs! The other packs were still great and I had few repeats surprisingly. Would buy again.

Plus I love using the box tin for storing my cards and other items like the coins. I would recommend for young collectors. You now have a small lunch box, a note pad and pencils to write with. Along with a small binder to hold your new cards in.

Bought two, one for each grandson. Both had special cards. One box at least contained a VSTAR and two art cards. Both TGH rare. The other box contained a rare VSTAR, a holo trainer rare, one trainer gallery super rare, a rare V, and a Radiant rare.

Wish I had gotten two like the second box. Buy the box! And have fun!.

Overpriced by up to 25% market value for all boxes 8 boxes and not a single full art card, Target ETB’s are cursed. Would recommend 8 booster packs over this as I’ve had more success with those. Would not buy again.

First thing the box the Great Ball it should have been a secret gold. The playing mat is beautiful and if you read the book you fin out from the artist that they took the pack art from this play mat.

Very cool. Did I mention two rainbow rare cards that retail at $15 each. Oh ten boosters everyone. Enough to snag something nice. Three extra large storage boxes with dividers. Last but certainly not least an online code card.
