20 Best Trailer Bearing Grease (2022 Updated)

Since starting to use this problems with failing wheel bearings have much reduced. It is not cheap, but failed wheel bearings are way more expensive.

Even though this had low ratings I purchased Star Brite grease, knowing that their other products have been very good. I have not been disappointed. I greased up my trailer bearings and did an 800 mile trip at highway speeds in hot weather, with hardly a stop.

Well it’s grease, nothing to get too excited about, but I got what I wanted

One of the more affordable (under $5 for 14 oz tube) heavy-duty multi-purpose lithium greases. Commercial/Industrial quality for high-temp and heavy loads. Exceeds NLGI No. 2 specs. 530 F drop point (Temperature point where it turns into a liquid and runs out of the joint/bearing).

That’s pretty high if you don’t know. No problem with over-heated disk brakes. I use it for everything. Ball joints, U-joints, wheel bearings, and especially the inner axle-stub bearing in my 03 F350 4×4.

Won’t wash out when playing in the mud or water. A big plus!.

It’s blue, it’s grease, I used it to pack the wheel bearings on a 30′ camping trailer. So far it seems to be doing the job.

Good, good, good. Get this if you want good lubricating clean grease. Im also an advocate for Gojo natural pumice soap for the after effects to your hands for easy clean-up. Also a big shout out to CRC Electronic Cleaner to clean up anything aside from your hands that gets messy or started out messy prior to beginning the project.

Works like magic with just A LITTLE spritz to make greasy or sticky things seem to disintegrate everything gunky you had building up for so long. Great for any hobby motorized stuff, for clean-up, or pre-clean of the parts you will be greasing with this product.

CAUTION!! I would go light on the first application or things CAN completely lock up instantly with the complete lack of lubrication (always use CRC sparingly). Was designed to spray solder flux paste off electronic circuit boards, but cleans gears really aggressively.

If youve never tried any of these products, you will thank me for the results (using sparingly). You can always hit it with a 2nd application, but you will have trouble if gears lock up. You are very welcome for this little piece of wisdom that I never stumbled upon myself.

I use this grease primarily in sewing machines, both lube points, and gear mesh surfaces. It works great, sticks well, and is clear. It keeps its texture, so it won’t solidify and make “mud” in your machinery! Another selling point.

it has no odor. This is just a great overall grease, and it lives in my sewing machine tool kit, as well as my bicycle tool kit. Right next to my multiple bottles of TriFlow lubricating oil.

The clear, waterproof formula with Teflon (PTFE) added is perfect for bicycle applications. I use this product to pack bearings and grease threaded fasteners on the bikes I work on. Has excellent durability and lubricity.

TriFlow aerosol spray lube is another excellent product for bicycle applications. I use it for my chains, derailleur pivots and cabling. Effective and long lasting. TriFlow is the pinnacle for bicycle lubrication.

This grease is second to none. Perfect for rc car truck gears etc. I prefer this over the white lithium. Lucas also make team associated diff and shock fluids, extremely consistent. Excellent product

I use this to lubricate the pins, lugs, locking block, trigger assembly and chokes on my high end trap guns. It doesn’t run under high temperatures and lubricates very well over extended periods of use staying clean throughout hundreds of rounds events so no worries with possible galling on contact surfaces.

This is great grease. More expensive than other brands but I think is well worth it if you want to give your vehicle the best care. I use it on my tractors, trucks and trailers. Great for wheel bearings.

I grease the wheel bearings in my fifth wheel trailer every year because we average about 8 – 10,000 miles a year. When pulling the bearings out the grease still looks good. Not so with other greases.

Run my old Datsun 240Z on some fun tracks with a long straightaway. At the end of those straights a lot of demand is placed on braking. Car has old solid disc’s, aggressive brake pads and fluid with a very high boiling point.

This transfers a lot of heat to the wheel bearings through the rotors and hubs. Happy to say the grease handles it all in stride with no melting or thinning. The mid range ratings do not reflect the product but how stupid the rating system is.

“Ease of installation” it is grease how stupid is that rating!.

I use this grease for the front wheel bearings on my first gen RX-7 track car. My RX-7 with 13 inch wheels has small front rotors and thus brake temps are very high while on track. This grease has never failed me even when I have cooked the pads.

This is the only grease I use for old-school hand-packed front wheel bearings.

I believe I’ve discovered the difference between store-bought grease and the good stuff. This is all I use in my high-performance bearings now. It’s always hard to directly correlate the difference, but I’ve not seen a wheel bearing issue since using.

It works very well for bearing, needle bearing and ball bearing. The grease is good because it has good wheel bearing and metal lubrication on the heat and it can last for a long time because it is a lithium molly ingredient.

Grease is a staple of preventative service. Nice to have the store so close to to where I live. Better service than some of the competition.

I have used a wide variety of Lucas products over the years and have never had any performance problems. I feel that all of the Lucas products are simply the best.

This is really good grease for wheel bearings on a boat trailer. I also use to grease the bearings on my riding mower. I like the ease of ordering from Sportsmans Warehouse. I was pleased with the service.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have used this on my RV trailer bearing for years. I have never lost a bearing while pulling. It has made two trips from Houston, TX to Fairbanks, AK and back. Plus it had many trips in those states that were several hundred miles each trip.

I do pull the hubs and clean and inspect the bearings at leat once a year or before a long trip after it has sat for an extended time. Covid-19 lock downs.

IšverstiShow in original languageJust like all other lucas oil products red n tacky grease is out standing. It sticks in bearings and won’t just disappear in minutes like others. It’s is easy to pump and has superior protection for ware and crosion.

If your a construction company or a hobbies farmer this grease is for all , resumable price and exlent quality. You can’t go wrong try it against the grease you using now and you will see the difference.

IšverstiShow in original languageI use this grease on everything that I own from semi-truck to yard equipment. It does very well in all weather conditions and sticks well. I’ve ran it in snow to 115 degrees and never seen it degrade.

It’s good on bearings, frames, fifth wheels, you name it. It’s well worth the investment to me.

this is typical of the more light weight greases now used with disc brake bearings. They are more tolerant of the higher temps generated by disc rotors, when maniac idiots slam on the brakes, only to floor the gas pedal, 3 seconds later.

I always use this grease for lubricating my gun when going to the range, it works awsome making my gun look like the first time i used it.

Great for automotive use, used this stuff for where grease was needed while rebuilding my engine

Purchased this tube of grease to refill several of my bearing buddies. I pumped this grease into the zerk fitting until all the old grease stopped leaking from the hub and only fresh grease was coming out.

One tube filled two bearing buddies completely. No issues with packaging. Take the cap off one end and peel the opposite end when you’re ready to use.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve had some bad luck with this grease. I was surprised given that I was sort of expecting it to be the gold standard, but it started separating and turning to oil after a while.

I packed a small trailer set of bearings with it and it started leaking green after a year or so. I thought I had made some mistake or maybe over-tightened the spindle nut, but then I found the whole grease gun was leaking green from unused grease.

Maybe that was just a one off, but I’ll take mediocre grease any day over that experience.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have used the Lucas red grease for years, and the store happened to be out of it at the time. I figured I would use this “heavy duty” as a similar alternative grease as I have always been satisfied with Lucas products.

This grease was a mistake, and I knew it right when I put the tube in the grease gun and opened the air bleeder- this grease came rushing out like a geyser! It is so thin you don’t even recognize it as being grease, it’s more like a very heavy oil that almost flows at room temperature.

I tried it in a few fittings, and it seemed to work normally going in at room temperature. But as the bearings warmed up, this grease came running out like black watery oil and I have never seen that before.

I stopped using it right away, threw the tube away, and went back to my usual red grease.

IšverstiShow in original languageOrdered twenty tubes of grease and only recieved 10. 8 of the 10 tubes were busted and unusable. Emailed jb tools back and forth and they only refunded me a little over half of total purchase.

They never tried to replace the busted tubes of grease or even try to send me my full order, which was 20 tubes. Long story short, I payed thirty dollars for only two tubes of grease. Terrible company don’t order from them.

Sta-Lube since 1933! Says it all! This is the ONLY marine grease that I use to pack my wheel bearings on my boat trailer. Superior rust & corrosion protect, high melting pt. , resists washout under the most severe water conditions & meets ASTM No.

D1743. I repack my boat trailer w/tandem axles every 2 years & always use the zerk fittings before launching. As you know or will learn the ocean hates boats & trailers and does its best to destroy &/or damage them to the best of her abilities.

Nothing worse that being broke down beside the road because of a bearing failure caused by lack of lubrication.

I used this for my saltwater boat axels. Good value and price point, cannot comment on effectiveness because I just used it. Saltwater will destroy anything non stainless/aluminum so really it should be a yearly maintenance ritual.

My opinion. I’ve seen a handful of boats on the side of the road in Florida from axels burning up! Not this products fault but owners lack of experience.

I bought this product to keep my AR-15 bolt and bolt carrier as well as other internal parts lubricated when using it with a bump fire stock. The internals heat up fast when dumping 30 rounds in a few seconds and conventional oils just cannot hang or adhere well to the bolt carrier metal, this product does and it also minimizes the heat due to reduced friction.

For my particular application, it’s excellent.

Great price. Used it on my boat trailer, goes into saltwater. You need a good wheel bearing grease.

Used this to fit bearings in my mtb headset. Good stuff. Be sure to give all your existing components a proper clean, otherwise the grease will pick up any dirt/rust and discolour and turn brown looking.

So far I have only used it to grease up a freewheel for an ebike rear hub motor on a new build I have been working on. As it is lithium based grease it’s just perfect for these small jobs and the tube size for bike maintenance will last a while.

Although I have not used this brand of grease before I do use the same brand in chain lube and I can say this brand seems to be good quality for a great price.

I have used several tubes of this grease when building or servicing my bikes. Very good product, highly recommended.

A boot came loose on the CV joint of my utv. I used this Grease to fill the boot before tightening it back up. Worked great!

Needed bearing grease for shaft for front wheel on 150cc scooter shipped from China. 600 miles so far no squeaks.

Not sure what more I can say, this stuff just works! I’ve used competitors’ products and Amsoil is just the best. I wish they sold it in a small tub as well since the tubes are difficult to use for my purposes, but we make it work.

My favorite is the multi-purpose grease because I don’t really care for the thicker consistency of this grease but I have absolute faith in its quality and performance. At the time, this was the best substitute for me while the multi-purpose grease was out of stock.

I started using Amsoil in my boat. I use the Grease for trailer bearings and all fittings on the outboard and out drive. It is impervious to the water and harsh conditions. Thanks for all the great products.
