20 Best Trailers For Jigs (2022 Updated)

Overall the cart is great. Been using it to haul full loads of fire wood cut on woodlot property behind my house. Trailer has great hauling capacity and trailers very well. Worth the price when comparing to similar trailers that look exactly like this one.

One negative is the assembly of the connection bar to the trailer. This bar is a two piece assembly rather than it being one bar. It bolts together with two bolts through a square coupling tube. Even though it is a two bolt connection, the two bars can still work out of alignment.

I am afraid that after continued use the two bolt holes are going to wear larger and cause issues. Would be better if this tow bar was one piece but it’s probably designed in two pieces for shipment box sizing.

This trailer could not have been more perfect for our needs. We tow it with a Huaqvarna zero turn mower. The tires are the same size so everything is level while using it. The bed is large enough 5 feet long to hold shovels weed eaters, gas containers and more.

The dump feature lets us remove the cuttings and dump them were wanted. It is sturdy and rolls like a dream. The only thing I could find fault with was the assemble. It took a bit of time to figure out the assembly instruction.

In the end all parts were there and it assembled correctly. The one thing I should bring to every ones attention is that the wheels need greasing before use and I did have to purchase a metal bracket tow hitch for my mower to tow it.

We all love it and I smile every time I see it in use. It was a good buy. I would buy a second one if I had use for it.

Its about 3/4 the way to being a great trailer. I took two 5′ pieces of 1-1/2 inch angle iron and ran it down the length 1/4 the way from each side and welded it to the bottom. It just fits under the axle perfectly.

Then I welded the tongue into one piece (it comes segmented so it fits in the box). I bolted and welded a ball hitch mount to my tongue (one bolt through the top of the ball hitch mount through to the standard pit hitch top).

I’m still debating the tilt release which is a weak point, whether I use U bolts to hold it down or weld it solid. There is a short 1-1/2″ long segment of the 1″ square tube that the whole tilt mechanism rides against that is lightly welded.

At a minimum, this needs to be rewelded.

I’ve only had my cart 1 day but it seems sturdy and should be perfect for how I plan to use it. It will be used to move wood and other items around my property. It was easy to put together other than having to deal with two bent slots for the upper rails.

Very nice off-road utility trailer for the money. It was easy to put together and seems really solid. The only thing missing is tie-down hooks, but those can be added later.

Great action when used as a jig trailer. Try it on your bladed jigs too when throwing around wood. Not many anglers try this and it gets bit, especially in high pressured areas.

These chunks can be purchased anywhere. I bought them from dicks because they had them buy 2 get one free. I would rate 5 star but they limit you to 6 packs. Still was the best price I could find.

My son and I have used this trailer for several years and it works just great it has produced time after time including my son catching a 7lb and then couple years later 7lb 14oz all in tournaments. Can’t say enough about this zoom product and I and my son use several other zoom products.

Most bass fisherman overlook NetBaits because of the lesser known brand & cheap price, but that’s a mistake. The Paca Chunk is a great jig trailer for bass. It’s body is small so it doesn’t take up much of the gap of the jig hook (if rigged correctly).

It’s extremely durable, so it lasts. But best of all is the action it has. It slows the fall of the bait and the claws wiggle erratically even on the fall. Great trailer for a ‘swim jig’, but also for flip’n and pitch’n a jig.

Also try the Paca Craw – it has a hollow body, but the same great claw action. These are worth a try, especially for the cost.

Everything fits! Aft nuts for tail lights were impossible for one person to install. Would prefer galvanized steel and better lock washers. Does the inside grease seal goes over or up to the axle’s inside shoulder? Why does the manual call for cleaning the new grease out of the new bearings and then putting in new grease? Should have an optional longer tongue.

This will be used on freeways but the recommended maximum speed is 45 mph which is an unsafe speed on any freeway. Maximum tire speed rating is not shown on the tire and the information is important.

The grease cap on the outside of the bearings will not stay on well. I like having one size bolt for most connections. Recommend a “V” brace from the front of the rectangular frame to the trailer’s tongue for additional bracing.

4′ x 4′ would be more practical (and useful). Optional support for the tongue would be useful. Too stiff for some applications so the two small leaf springs should be removable. My construction is not complete yet.

My main reason was to find an inexpensive trailer to carry my kayak to lake. it easy very easy to put together, parts do not have numbers on them so you will have to look at the pictures and match parts, not a big deal, since you will be assembling it upside down, I suggest postponing the installation of fenders until you turn it right side up, makes it a lot easier.

you will need two ground points for wiring installation – there is no mention of ground wires in installation guide – for main harness I used one of the attachment bolts and for the taillights I had to scrub the paint off of the installation bracket to provide grounding point, something to consider for harbor freight to correct in future.

All in all , if you have correct tools and use a little bit of common sense, it is a very easy process. I added two 8 ft long 2x4s and had a perfect kayak trailer. I also measured and cut some wood to attach in future if I need to use the trailer to carry mulch or gardening supplies.

On the road this little thing is pretty stable, it is rated for 60 mph road speed, and it performs real well at that speed.

Use these for my flipping jigs and they work well enough. It’s solid enough to last a good number of bites. Also, the product color matches the thumbnail exactly so that’s a plus.

Is a great little trailers used on the back of a jig. You can look at several different ways you can trim the edges to change the swim and fall rate.

Here is another Zoom product that ranks high among its peers. I like the 4″ size in black-blue with Booyah’s A-Jig to present a mouthful no 5 lb. Bass is going to pass by. For a more finesse approach, the 3″ makes a good partner to Booyah’s Baby-Boo.

Both sizes give good balance to your jig, come in all the favorite colors, are pretty durable, and offer realistic action. If you fish mostly heavy cover and don’t like repositioning the trailer every cast, instead of threading the hook along the length of the “tab”, just hang the chunk on the end of the hook.

If you want even more claw action, try Netbait’s paca chunks. They look like miniature “bats” with “wings” that flap on the drop.

As long as the color is correct, these soft plastics can be used in almost any pond. However, like any lure, they work best when the conditions are right. I have used them almost always weightless, and used a jerk/drag and pause retrieve.

Best Texas rigged with worm hook, making them totally weedless. If you use with a weight, use a worm weight. Keep in mind, this makes it less weedless, and when casting into heavy cover and weeds/lily pads, weightless (Texas rigged, without worm weight) is the way to go.

I’ve heard of people using them in the middle water column and even as a top water reeling it in fast, and I have caught fish that way as well. The two “claws” move when the lure is jerked or reeled, giving it great realistic action like a real crawfish.

Just make sure the color you use is best for the water conditions, with darker being more effective in darker water. Also, if you Texas rig then, make sure to set the hook with reasonable power. They are pretty durable you should at least get a few fish on one before ripping.

Chartreuse Pepper & Delta Red are the primary colors I use to catch huge Large Mouths in our farm pond. When you throw these your ringing the dinner bell. I also use these in the river with the same results.

I always keep a good supply of these in my tackle box and they never let me down ! There well made and will catch numerous fish per bait so a good value !.

I was looking for a craw that had more action in the claws. A friend recommended the Strike King Rage Craw. The first time out my cousin and I caught 59 bass in 7 hours!! As far as durable — I caught 9 bass on 1 single craw!!!! That’s one tough craw!! I will definitely have the Rage Craw in my tackle line up this year!!.

There are so many things to love about this particular lure that it’s hard to know where to start. So I’ll say what I like best about it. My favorite features are it’s extremely lively action (the claws wiggle and wave at the slightest movement), as well as the fact that it stands up at rest.

The claws are up in the naturally defensive position of a live crawdad. But the features and attractions of the Paca craw does not stop there. It’s super soft and pliable, comes in a nice variety of colors and the body is suitable for any style of bass hook.

Including shaky heads. I personally use Tru Turn Hooks and Daiichi Straight Shank hooks on these with no issues. NetBait has become my go to bait for soft plastics.

The big bass LOVE this bait, but I have lost several due to the lure wadding up in the bottom of the hook and impeding a good hook set. I’m still working on cutting some material away to facilitate a better hook set.

I’m also going to try 5/0 hook.

I use Baby and Tiny Paca Craws for a number of applications. It’s a great bait to put on a jig as a trailer. The pincers and claws move and flap with the slightest of movements, so it’s most often used for more active bass or for warmer waters.

It’s also a great trailer for swim jigs worked slow or fast. It’s flapping action is a little more subtle than Strike King Rage Craw/Chunks, but more action than Zoom Super Chunks. good when you want something in between.

As a standalone plastic, it can be rigged Texas with bullet sinker or Carolina rig. I use the various sizes of Yum’s Pumkin’ Ed stand-up jigheads to either flip into cover, or downsize to the Tiny Paca Craw on a lighter jighead for finesse presentations.

The one feature I like most is that on a stand-up jighead the claws float up in a defensive position even though the bait is scented with salt and anise. ingredients that usually make plastic baits sink.

It’s also has a hollow body, which is good for inserting scent pods or rattles.

These are super versatile: rig them on their own or use as jig trailer. I’ve also had luck turning them 45 degrees and using them as a small spinnerbait or chatterbait trailer. This method gives them a side-to-side flapping motion.

I was in a tournament recently and my partner and I were catching all of our fish in this one little pocket on spinnerbaits. However, my partner was catching more and bigger fish even though we were throwing almost identical spinnerbaits and retrieving them the same way.

After several cast I realized that he had a trailer on his. So I dug through my box and found this trailer in the all white color. I slid that up under the skirt and instantly started catching more fish.

I love this trailer to increase the profile size and make it look more like a shad or baitfish. Definitly worth the money because it will catch more fish.

Bought to compliment new Honda Talon UTV. It will haul so much more than the UTV is capable of. Excellent Product. Indispensable for hunting purposes; hauling deer feeders, tree stands, 100’s of pounds of deer corn, not to mention hauling out harvested animals.

In searching for a trailer for my ATV, I researched extensively. First, to see what was out there and second, to see what people thought of them. After having had my trailer for several months now, I figured I would write this to help the rest of you out there save some time in making an informed decision.

For reference, I generally use the trailer on weekends only and not for continuous professional use. That being said, I have repeatedly loaded the trailer to capacity and hauled it over rugged terrain and on steep pitches and traverses.

I compared about ten different trailers, ranging in price from about $300 to $1800. Obviously there was a range in size along with the range in price, so I thought hard about exactly what I intended to do with the trailer.

I generally use the trailer to haul around wood and stone on a tract of land that is hilly and densely wooded. So, for me, strength was primary and being the “right size” was a close second. The right size for me was in the middle of the range – big enough to make my trips worthwhile but maneuverable enough to get around through the trees.

Capacity for me would be determined by weight and not volume. (Had volume been my primary goal – i. e. hauling hay or supplies – I likely would have gone for the Polar 1500 which is quite a bit wider and has a box that extends over the tires.

) The best manufacturers tend to mention the weight of steel used in construction of their products when they have something to be proud of. This is the case with Polar and I was not disappointed when I unpacked the box.

This trailer, as told by the manufacturer, is very well-built. Heavy gauge steel is used throughout the frame with full-seam welds and large bolts at assembly points. The box is a durable plastic, which admitted seems thin (as I had read in other reviews).

But I have yet to cause it any harm after heaving in many tons of wood and stone. As for the tandem vs. single option – I can only speak for the tandem (of course) but can easily tell that it does an excellent job of taking loads over rough terrain and the extra pair of tires helps to keep the trailer from sinking in the soft stuff.

The downside of any tandem trailer is that tight cornering is tough – as two wheels must skid – which can be hard on whatever ground you are on. I just try not to make tight turns when I am on the lawn.

Last but not least, the price. This trailer fell in the lower middle of the range for prices but, as far as I have been able to research, is in the high end of the range for quality, so I feel that it is an exceptional deal.

I could have spent more but doubt I could have been any more satisfied. I should also note that I installed a 1-7/8″ ball coupler instead of using the tab and pin connection as I felt it would perform better.

I highly recommend this trailer.

The trailer but sent in a timely manner customer service as well as the store was very cooperative. The downside to it was the extension rails were pictured but not included. It should be advertised as an option.

Overall, order was very well handled, project, with the exception, was as expected and easily assembled.

This bait outperforms every other bait I have put it against. I used to use a combination of other soft plastic baits and never really had any that stood out to me …. then I went fishing with some friends which were using pumpkin colored rage craws … we started having a friendly competition and they kept pulling in fish after fish and I was struggling to get a bite.

After a while they each had 9 fish and I had 3. Thankfully they took mercy on me and gave me a few rage craws to try out and I started to reel in the fish as well. So needless to say I am a diehard rage tail fan now.

The action is incredible you can reel it in slow on the bottom ,or you can add a little speed and swim it in slowly or you can bring it in a little faster on the top if you wish. All you need to do is find where the fish are at in the water column and put the rage tail in front of them.

The rage tail will do the rest.

I fish for Northern Pike almost every week and I now only use Chompers jig trailers on my spinner baits and jigs. These jig trailers have the smell that makes them bite, you will know what I mean when you open the bag.

I can personally tell you they out fish the other brands. Bass often bite them too, in fact my biggest bass of the year came on the black/blue flake 5 inch jig trailer on a black spinner bait. I use the double tail style because my trailer hook fits right between the tails and does not affect the action as much.

Put one of these on a jig head about 1 week after receiving the package and caught a nice 2lb walleye pike, about the 2nd cast. Had a few more hits but they were on a pressure bite. The bass season is coming to the head very shortly and these babies are going to catch me a lot of Small & Large mouth bass.

I ‘Highly Recommend’ these spider tails to everyone, but leave me some so I can order them shortly.

Caught a 6. 28 lb large mouth on my first trip out with these grubs. They are very durable and catch bass in both the 4″ + 5″ size. Fish hit them on the drop , while swimming or crawling on the bottom depending on their mood.

You can also snip off the tails and fish it whacky style. I have tried other hula type grubs and this one is the best.

Overall I am quite happy with the trailer just be aware of a couple of minor things. 1) As others have noted the wiring harness was too short to reach my truck. Very annoying that this is something they skimp on.

2) Make sure you check the clearance of your tailgate and the tongue jack. If you drop your tailgate without checking first you may be in for a nasty surprise on some vehicles. 3) Be aware that the ramp may not be long enough for some lawn tractors with the mower deck mounted to clear the transition from ramp to trailer.

Without the deck on I had no problem tho it was pretty steep. I invested in some longer ramps. ATVs should have no problem. Overall I still do recommend the trailer. It’s well built, pulls well and does the job.

Fleet Farm – Rochester,MN automotive guy that helped me at 0840 this morning was very helpful and professional. Checked my tire pressure and lug nut torque. My only words of advise are that you check them out thoroughly before you buy.

Mine was great so far as I could tell but the other two left were not. One looked beat up and rusty and the other had a flat tire.

I never go to the lake without a Chompers stand up jig head coupled with a Chompers twin tail grub. I have caught hundreds of fish on these over the last 6 years and I literally have 10-15 bags of these in the boat with me in every color.

They are awesome and they always catch fish. If I’m not catching anything, I simply tinker with the color I’m throwing until I figure out what the fish are hitting. Don’t leave them in your car though.

they will put a stink in there that you can’t get out with anything. Bottom line. BIG bass love these and so do a lot of other fish. I’ve accidentally hooked into big trash fish like drum and flathead catfish on these too.

Even though I call them trash fish, you would have to be crazy to say it isn’t fun accidentally hooking up with a 35lb flathead while bass fishing. I’ve caught walleye on them too.

Works very well for Wipers over 1.5 pounds in Utah. Also some success with Walleyes.

This is an excellent trailer for the price. Wholesale Marine must have some kind of teleportation device because I received the trailer in less than 24 hours, and I’m several states away. It was pretty easy to put together from parts that arrived neatly packaged in three boxes, but leave yourself some time to do it.

CE Smith has a number of accessories you’ll want to consider purchasing in addition, including tail light protectors, a spare tire, a spare tire carrier with bracket (and separate padlock), boat guides, a trailer coupler lift handle, and a coupler lock.

I also had to buy an LED license plate light and bracket from Amazon because the bracket that comes with the trailer attaches to the left turn signal, which puts a full size plate about two inches off the ground.

Luckily the trailer has an extra set of hot and ground wires, but they are pretty far up on the trailer frame, so I had to purchase some extra trailer wire and CE Smith trailer frame clips to feed the wiring down to the bracket.

I drilled two holes and mounted the bracket on the back left side of the trailer. You’ll also need some bullet connectors and shrink tube. Just an FYI, Malone makes a kayak carrier crossbar kit that works great with this trailer.

It allows you to securely carry multiple kayaks and even a paddle board underneath. This setup is easily removed and replaced with the bunk boards that come with the trailer for carrying our Jon boat.

It’s very cool. Just make sure you figure out your rigging BEFORE you install a license plate bracket. You need to work around the u bolts that attach the bars for the bunk boards and/or kayak carrier.

The trailer was fairly easy to assemble, but there were some issues along the way. The electrical wiring was slightly different then that shown in the manual. I did figure that out and the lights worked properly.

The bow stop was not not drilled out properly, so the bolts did not fit properly. The bow stop is a weaker metal, which caused some stress when towing my boat. Also, the bow stop frame was even weaker and it bent while the boat was being towed.

Again, I was able to make it work. Overall, the trailer is a good investment.

Trying to find a trailer for an inflatable boat was almost impossible. This worked perfectly. It was made better by dealing with Wholesale Marine. A winning combination of the manufacturer and distributor.
