20 Best Trails For Dogs (2022 Updated)

We have a 90lbs Irish wolfhound/Black lab that is big and needs LOTS of food, especially when we’re on long hikes. We’re slowly getting ready for the summer season by integrating this pack on our walks with him.

At first he just sat down (no weight in it) and didn’t move. After much coaxing we got him to go on a walk with us. We’ve slowly made our way up to 500g on each side. He now associates putting the pack on with receiving treats and doesn’t seem to much mind the weight.

He eats 4-5 cups of kibbles a day and any relief we get in not having to carry his food on long back country excursions is a win in my books! I also love how it’s adjustable just about everywhere. Our pup has a big barrel chest/neck and a little waist so the micro adjustments you’re able to make mean he’s happier on the trail.

Now that I have had a chance to use this “K-9 pack” on the trail I want to mention some things I like and dislike about this useful backpack. My dog is a 70-pound shepherd mix who is rather enthusiastic both when trail-running and backpacking.

Upon receiving the Mountainsmith K-9 Pack, it took some mental work (on my part) to figure out which adjustments helped to fit the pack to my dog. I really like the locks on some of the adjustment buckles which really clamped down the straps once I got the length right.

It is not clear why these useful locks are only on some of the buckles. I really like the roominess of each pack section. I was able to fit a one-quart water bottle and a quart ziploc bag of food in each side thus creating a well-balanced load.

While at first, my dog did not seem to understand that he was supposed to walk with the pack on, once he got the hang of it, he seemed to accept it which I took to mean it was comfortable for him. My dog likes to occasionally stop and roll in the tall grass which lead to an amusing problem when he became stuck with the full pack on so that his feet stuck up in the air and he was unable to figure out how to turn back over.

One time, this lead to funny photos but another time in his effort to free himself, he was able to wiggle out of the backpack. Overall, I was happy with the construction and performance of this pack.

Love the idea of this – it makes perfect sense for camping. Ruffwear products are always well made and this was no exception. Strong, I had 170lbs of dog on this and it held up even when the one tried to run after a squirrel.

Issues – too short! Where we camped there were plenty of trees, but we ended up having to move the car close enough to actual use this thing. The cost – while it’s well made, I still think it’s overpriced for what you get, especially when you need to provide your own leash to actual attach your dog.

Overall – great idea, but only good execution. For the price, I’d pass and just use rope.

Love the Knot a Hitch system for camping with our furry friend. It stores in a compact easy to carry pouch and the set up is easy. It seems to be well made and durable. This gives our dog the independence and safety he needs, especially if when are busy with setting up our campsite and can’t watch him every second.

This is a great product. VPO has an excellent website for online purchases and delivery was quick. very pleased overall.

It’s just what I wanted and needed. I have a begal hound and so having her stay close by is hard when we doing day trips and stopping for lunch. This is fantastic as I can put it up between two trees and she can go backwards and forwards to sniff and not get in the way.

I can sit and relax that she is not going to run off after a scent. She can’t chew it so that’s a big relief. Look forward to overnight trips to really get the full experience.

So, I have a 23 pound mini Aussie with TONS of energy. She went to work with me every day of her life until about 6 months ago, when I started a new job where she couldn’t go with me. Until I began leaving her at home, I had no idea how much damage she could do to basically everything in her newly confirmed state of separation anxiety.

It became clear that something must be done to help her resolve the stress she was feeling, so (this deserves a drumroll people) I bought the one running dog bike tow leash and harness, an ibert baby seat for my one year old daughter (mounts to the handle bar stem) and Burley’s 7 speed trail-a-bike, the piccolo (mounts to the seat stem of my bike, transforming it into a tandem) for my 7 year old son and that’s when my neighbors realized the circus was in town! So, my kiddos and I load up, we clip Scratch onto her leash and we’re off! We began with about a mile, but quickly realized that Scratch was prepared for far more than that and after slowly increasing our distance over about 5 months, our morning ride has extended to an 8 mile sprint that leaves scratch happily exhausted and anxiety free! This leash is seriously the source of so many fun family moments and memories with one of our favorite members of our family.

This purchase happened out of necessity, but it was the beginning of a healthier, more enjoyable lifestyle for our dog and our family! As for set up. it’s easy. Takes 30 seconds to mount or remove. Training Scratch to use the leash took only a few short rides.

I give her voice commands like “squeeze” so she knows to hug the bike a little tighter when we ride between posts and “easy” when she needs to slow her roll and maintain a sustainable pace. The neat thing about the tow leash for me is that Scratch has a habit of barking like a maniac at other dogs when we go for walks and it’s so unpleasant that I had to start looking at muzzling options.

thankfully I didn’t have to do that because when she runs alone with my bike, her focus and speed give her zero room for distraction. Even when we pass other dogs, our speed and momentum is such that she can’t stop for passing distractions.

It makes exercising her so much more enjoyable! All in all, this leash is a game changer. It has been a lifesaver and a source of fun for my whole family! I recommend this product to ANYONE who loves their dog and enjoys bike rides.

While this product is quite expensive for its simplicity, it simply works perfectly after more than 2 years of daily use, often for extended runs with my 95 lb Dobermann. At first he is pulling hard on the tow leash but after extended runs, I am towing him to a mild extent.

Never has there been the slightest problem with him getting too close to my mountain bike even when making fairly sharp left hand turns. I did have considerable initial difficulty with keeping the clamp from moving excessively where attached to be bike.

The clamping bar is seriously inadequate mild steel and would bend unacceptably when tightening the clamping handles down. This made the product essentially worthless as it was. The problem was solved by massively epoxying with highest strength epoxy the entire clamp to the bicycle rear frame.

The use of very low strength mild steel instead of a much higher strength but still inexpensive alloy steel such as 4140 with a very rough surface such that the steel would bite sufficiently deeply into the aluminium frame would have solved the problem without having to resort to such radical modifications.

Since the piece of steel required is so short, the small additional cost for a product selling for such a high price would be negligible. Sadly, maximizing profit at any cost dominated the manufacturing process.

I love that I’m supporting a small business. I didn’t really deal with the customer support so perhaps not entirely accurate. My shipment was delayed but that’s not their fault. I received immediate confirmation when they shipped it but the usps was delayed.

I have a 75# labhound that is a big puller and loves to sniff. I’m an avid runner and while he loves to run he’ll randomly stop and sniff. I’m an active guy that can handle it but sometimes it’s much.

That being said I was skeptical and worried for the first ride. The bike tow leash worked magic. No feeling like I was going to wipe out. 4 stars only in that at slow speed I could definitely feel it when he saw another dog or bird or wanted to go potty.

He could also potentially go into my front wheel at times but I just had to take caution with my left turns (left side set up) Only a few rides in. It’s still a phenomenal tool. I’m an avid competitive cyclist and it’s great my dog can join in.

Perhaps not a five star because I set it up on my casual fixed gear road bike. I could see how a mountain bike or any bike with thicker tires would be much different. That said it worked well with my fixed gear road bike with only a few caveats that I listed.

Always be conscience and safe no matter the bike.

My vet recommended these almost 2 years ago for treating my senior cat’s fatty liver disease, along with a change to hydrolyzed dry food. We’re making slow progress on her blood work, but Denamarin is EASILY the best liver pill I’ve tried getting down my cat’s stubborn little gullet (tiny and coated)! Even the company’s other pill, Denosyl, isn’t as good.

And, to be blunt, finding this blue pill when they do vomit. is a lot easier than the red/brown of Denosyl. Gross, but vital, when you need to know the medicine STAYED down, right? She’s been holding steady and showing slight improvement, and is now 14 years old.

Hoping this pattern continues or improves, but it was rough when Denamarin was out of stock with the pandemic. Denosyl is a decent back-up, but I do feel Denamarin is more effective when I see my cat’s blood test values.

My senior Shih Tzu was diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease in May 2021. Her liver enzymes were very high. Vet put her on Vetoryl and Denamarin. It seems to help. My dog is living almost a normal life. Even though she’s 14lbs, Vet said just 1 pill a day.

It’s hard to give her meds or supplements. You are not supposed to crush or split this pill. I tried everything and finally found one that works, liverwurst! I wrapped the pill with it and she takes it like a treat.

I give it to her first thing in the morning, about the same time, an hour before her breakfast. She was on the Denamarin Advanced version but there’s always availability issue. So whichever one available is what I give her.

Supposedly, the Advanced is more absorbing/effective. Vet said she can take the Advanced or the regular. Vet wants her on this for the rest of her life, with her Vetoryl prescription.

My 10 month old Ragdoll, Michelangelo, has high liver enzymes and nobody knows why. Immediately when I found out, I researched it, and saw that many people recommended this product. Unfortunately, it apparently is not in stock anywhere frequently, so I had to use Denosyl plus I bought some milk thistle.

Then this came back in stock, so I have been using this for the past few weeks. I don’t know if it’s this product, or a couple of prescriptions the vet gave me, but his ALT came down from 1332 to 74! He will be off the prescriptions in another week or so to do another blood test, but he will be taking Denamarin for the rest of his life to protect his liver.

Just make sure you don’t order it in the same order as anything heavy though, because the boxes are flimsy and my boxes came crushed, which opened up the foils covering the pills and crushed some of them.

Chewy was great though and replaced them.

I’ve used a “normal” leash with my year-and-a-half old Australian Shepherd ever since we first got her, and have never had issues with it. The idea of running with her has always been interesting to me, though, so I decided to buy this leash to start training her to run.

Unexpectedly, this has become both of our new favorite leash, and we use it all the time now! I love being able to let go completely without needing to worry about losing her, and she likes the greater level of freedom that the stretchiness provides.

Having the leash flex a bit helps her understand when she’s coming up on the furthest she can get from me, since there’s no longer either “no slack” or “all the slack” with nothing in between. Additionally, since she’s often tethered at home as part of training, the hands-free leash means I don’t have to be holding the leash or have it wrapped around my thigh just to know where she is.

I can’t recommend it enough!.

I confess, I am paranoid about my 14-month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi getting away from me somehow and taking off on our walks. (We’re still working on a 100% reliable recall. ) Up until today my previous cautionary method to prevent that has been to outfit her with both a regular leather collar and leash AND a rope slip-lead so that if my leash clip failed, she slipped her collar, etc.

, the slip lead would prevent her from running off. In May I learned that NOTHING is foolproof. I stepped on a rock the wrong way and without any warning, suddenly I was on the ground, blacked out for a moment and unknowingly let go of BOTH leashes.

Luckily, my dog found something interesting to investigate and was only a few feet away before kind neighbors came to our rescue. Turns out I had broken my ankle. Now that I am mobile enough for dog walking again, yesterday I ordered the Tuff Mutt Hands-Free Leash.

It arrived today and this afternoon I used it in tandem with my regular leather leash and collar for the first time. Success! Now I have the peace of mind and security of having her on two leashes but I only have to worry about holding onto one.

You know how people say their dog is “attached to them at the hip”? Well, now mine truly IS!.

Okay, so I don’t usually review things, but I love this leash so much I’m actually going to do it. I have a 6 year old American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix who I adopted about three years ago. He is high energy, high intelligence, and insanely curious.

Any time we would walk or run, he would get a bit distracted and pull to trail a scent. This isn’t really an issue as much anymore with training, but we live in a big city and there is a LOT going on at all times.

So he gets a lot of stimulation on walks. This being said, I have bad shoulders due to military service. When I adopted Bourbon, it was actually painful to train him how to walk properly on the lead.

I got there eventually but there are still hiccups. I WISH I would have found this sooner or had someone recommend it to me. This leash really helps relieve my shoulders from the jerking of a hyper dog when running or walking and actually helps me use my center of balance to keep better control.

The bungee of the leash ensures that jerking is no longer even a thought in my head! It’s adjustable so it fits my 130lbs 5’2 frame just as well as my best friends 210lbs 6’2 frame. I can finally enjoy my high energy burning activities with my pup without pain!.

Sammy is my rescued terrier who wants to chase anything that moves. This new harness is very comfortable for walking, running or in the car and secure without being restricting behind his front legs.

He is always with me and wears it all day. Under any lighting conditions the reflective trim make him very visible in the desert, scrub or woods. His name and phone number are also very visible taking out the worry, should he get away.

I should mention that the easy to reach handle to top makes him easy to control in any circumstance. Most of all it is a great looking harness and he looks great and comfortable in it.

I have had such pulling problems when walking with my Labrador Retriever ever since I got him at 7 weeks old. I have had other. Harnesses but they did not work after my Tucker grew. He loves this harness and comes right to me to put it on to go out.

He is so happy and proud to wear it. I have better control over his pulling and he is getting better at not pulling , unless he sees a rabbit then all bets are off.

We have a 9 year old Newfoundland who has never worn a harness, but we thought we would try it. He loved it from the start and no more collar around his neck on his walks. We purchased an x-large and it fits perfectly.

He weighs 147 lbs. and it could be let out if your dog is larger. There is nice padding against his fur too. Another great product from Orvis!.

We recently transitioned out pup onto this brand / type of food, and she’s had a noticeable change in her poops. Won’t go into detail, but they’re definitely healthier!

Overall, I like the Approach Dog Pack. It fits my dog nicely since there are several adjustment points. I like the flopper stopper for saddlebag stability. There is a major feature “wish” I have for the pack – ability to remove the saddlebags like the Ruffwear Palisades.

(My dog is too small for the Palisades. ) If I notice it’s getting pretty hot on the trail, I’ll switch out his pack and put a harness on, and I’ll carry his pack. This means that I have to carry an extra harness in my own pack.

Not the end of the world, but an inconvenience. It is sturdy pack, so I can’t complain. My dog is 25 pounds and we take long day hikes. I’m still working him up to the maximum suggested carry weight (25% of his body weight).

I increase by half a pound each week on walks and hikes to slowly acclimate him to carrying some supplies.

We got this pack for our dog for our first backpacking trip with her so she could help carry her necessities. It was great! She is a hound mix, so can be a bit tricky to fit, but this pack was adjustable enough to fit her very well.

We made sure to give her a couple walks using it before the trip so she could get used to it, and after a little initial hesitation about putting her head through this contraption, she was completely fine with it.

I definitely recommend this pack, and equally recommend making sure you give your dog time to get used to it if they haven’t used something similar in the past as I’m sure it seems a bit strange at first to them! Our dog is used to a harness, but this is a whole lot more than that.

I was concerned it might not have enough room for everything we wanted to have her carry, but we were able to fit three meals of kibble, treats, poop bags, a toy, and a small bottle of water with some room to spare!.

We bought this bag for a 55km multi-day hike in Algonquin Park. It seemed comfortable for my dog, and she was able to carry her food for 4 days. Once it was adjusted I never had to readjust for the duration of the trip- that was a big issue with every other saddle bag we’d tried (3 other ones).

The straps all have multiple tightening spots which kept everything snug. others, like the outward hound bags, only have one and would continually loosen while hiking. We’d have to stop every few minutes to adjust.

With this bag we were able to hike 20km in a day, up and down steep hills, over bridges, through swamps, and it stayed put the whole time. Definitely worth the extra money!.

I ordered two of these backpacks, in both sizes, for my two pups, 40 and 60 lbs, respectively. The smaller pack doesn’t hold much, some supplies and treats. The Big Baxter I’m able to pack with a day’s worth of water for both of them.

I love these packs and both dogs are happy to wear them. Kurgo advertises eight adjustment points. USE THEM ALL! Backpacks should fit snug. Loose backpacks sway, which causes chafing. The bags themselves I moved up as close as I could to the dog’s spine to avoid unnecessary swinging.

I conditioned my dogs over the course of several weeks, increasing weight and adjusting straps as necessary to make sure both stayed well and comfortable, checking for indentions from a too tight pack and raw places from chafing.

We found our sweet spot relatively quickly and we’ve had zero issues with several day hikes. Once it’s adjusted, it stays there! They can run and also rest while wearing these packs. One of my dogs has a strong prey drive and this pack keeps her focused and on trail.

And while it’s important to balance the two sides, a couple of pounds difference isnt a big deal in this pack as long as it’s properly fitted. I’ve used other packs where that wasn’t the case, and also packs that needed constant adjusting.

I use zip ties to secure the loose length of strap. One of my dogs is a pitbull so has very little hair, and she’s had no issues with rubbing or hair loss. I keep medical tape in her pack along with a towel so I can dry her off if she gets wet to help protect her skin, but so far so good! It seems durable, I’ve seen no fraying or seams tearing.

I’m happy to recommend this pack!!.

My mom just took me on a 125 mile backpack trip. I carried my own bowl, my food for the day, and a couple of other things. I am 60 pounds and tall and leggy (and very cute if I say so myself) and I was not sore at all!! She got me this pack because it had some back support.

The straps didn’t rub me at all since they are back out of my armpits. And once when a huge elk ran right in front of us, so grabbed the handle and kept me from running like I thought I might like to.

We did try a harness under it the first day so she could keep me on the leash, and it worked Ok, but that rubbed my arm pits so she just had to use a collar for the rest of the trip. She didn’t want me to carry more than a couple of pounds, but I bet I could have, especially if we walked less than 25 miles a day! Just be gentle with the zippers, that’s the weak link on this pack.

I have used this product for several years and only had an issue maybe twice. Once it caused Rowdy intense itching but that resolved the next year and only once did I have an issue with him still getting fleas but I honestly think that not treating my yard that year contributed to the problem.

In the year that we had the itching issue every product I tried that year caused the same reaction and I spoke with several people who all had the itching problem regardless of the product they used so I do feel it was an isolated event and we haven’t had that problem since.

So as long as I treat my yard as well as my dog we have no problem with fleas. I highly recommend you do both and I highly recommend this product. Keep in mind that this particular product also keeps the mosquitoes off of him and living in Arkansas one knows that mosquito season is almost all year thanks to our weather and other products do not keep the mosquitoes at bay which means you have to either keep your animal in or put another product on them and I would rather have that protection from one product not multiple.

Around my home it doesn’t matter what time of day you go out, mosquitoes are active all day and evening. I hope this review helps someone to make up their mind. We love it, Marilyn, Rowdy and Semi.

I used this product because it was recommended by Pet Smart. My dog has never had fleas but I used Frontline on him when he was a puppy and he was fine. Now he’s 7, we moved and I noticed a few fleas on him.

So I went and bought this product. I applied it exactly as directed and my dog has a terrible skin burn on his back that seems to be getting bigger. It now has puss and I’ve washed it twice a day with water as best I can without hurting him.

My dog has never yelped or showed signs of pain, other than a slight limp a couple of times, in his life. When I touch this area he yelps, jerks and tries to bite me. Getting bitten by a Dogo Argentino isn’t recommended.

Luckily I’m quick and he’d protect me with his life. But he is in a lot of pain. This is the third day, it showed up the second day after I applied it, and I’m going to the vet tomorrow as it seems to be getting bigger.

I will try to post pictures. Edit*** It doesn’t look like I can post pictures but I’m more than happy to send them to anyone who is thinking of buying this product. This happened the next day after it was applied so there’s nothing else it could be.

After my vet confirms this, I’m going to do my best to see how bad I can affect their business on social media and thru the pet community. Is Bayer K9 Advantix going to pay my vet bill? Doubtful.

I have tried several flea products. So far, only the prescription from the vet works. The Seresto collar is also helpful. I have been using this product for a solid 6 months. 1st month: worked for 3 days and they were back.

We re-applied as recommended and got another 3 days of relief. 2nd month: lasted a week. I thought maybe it builds up in their system and gets better over time. Re-applied as suggested. 3rd month: Actually, my lab mix is doing much better.

My terrier mix passed on so can’t tell, my Pitt/bulldog mix is absolutely covered after a week. Cats got maybe one day of relief. It actually seems to have made them worse this time. I kept trying but it just hasn’t done the job satisfactorily except for my lab.

Maybe it is the fur as he has a nice thicker growth of hair around his neck but it really should not matter. If it does matter, it should be listed as a potential issue. I’m on a fixed income and this is really expensive for me to have something that doesn’t work as described.

It has a good reputation with most people which is what brought me to the product but I’m sorry I’ve spent so much and my pets are miserable.

I purchased this stroller about 4 years ago for my dog who was growing lame with a degenerative spine illness. The stroller enabled him to live and enjoy the outdoors with me for about 2 years longer than he might have.

We would go on long walks (I’d let him out to pee/poop) but he stood ready to be let back on board again. We’d tour the neighborhood and investigate lots of smells. At a “higher” level than his little legs would go, he would be prime for lots of pets from neighbors.

He LOVED this stroller. (And I loved that it had cup holders so I could take my coffee to the park!) It was easy to maintain, held up to lots of use, and was easily folded up to put in the car for travel.

It was certainly worth the money I spent. My dog died and I got another dog (a year later) and the new one is VERY shy and scared of people (and dogs). So I use the stroller (lid closed) when I go into very populated areas or have to stop and talk with folks.

She feels safe and secure in the stroller, and I can feel secure knowing that I won’t encounter any “dog drama” on our walks. I’m so glad that the stroller has done “double duty” for both of my dogs.

I actually bought another stroller (same one) as a “loaner” to neighbors in my community who need assistance with older, shyer, or post-surgical dogs (or cats). I’m the Chair of our neighborhood “Dog Interest Group” (DIG) and we have about 50 dogs in the group, so we have lots of use for the stroller.

Our lending program started out with the stroller, and we have grown to offer many other durable products, so I want to thank Chewy for offering durable, sensible, helpful things to our four-legged family members.

I researched several pet strollers before deciding to purchase this one. I have 5 indoor cats who love outside, and I enjoy walking for exercise, so a sturdy pet stroller is a good alternative for us.

This one holds pets up to 35 pounds. My guys are from 7 – 20 pounds, so the smaller ones can ride in pairs or alone, and the big one fits comfortably by himself. The wheels on this stroller are designed and made very well.

I live in a neighborhood that has no sidewalks, so good wheels were a factor in my purchase. It steers and rolls smoothly and quietly. The steel clip that fastens the hood to keep it closed is strong and there’s no way cats can stick paws or noses between the upper and lower frames and get out.

All of my cats seemed to really enjoy the elevated vantage point and looking through the mesh sides and front of the stroller. The handle height is perfect for me, I’m 5′ tall. Might be a little low for taller people unless they have long arms.

The wheels were easy to put on, the front wheels snap onto the leg frame easily, and the rear wheels are already on an axle, just snap that into place also. The cup holder is removable, holds 2 cups.

I want to use the stroller to enhance my walking workouts, so I can put my small handweights into the bottom carrier. The stroller does fold down, but not completely flat. The price is very reasonable for this well-made pet stroller.

Overall, I am fairly satisfied with the product, especially for the price. I do feel there are some design problems. First, in order to fold this up you have to practically disconnect everything. the cage, velcro flaps, locking brackets, etc.

It says to release the bottom seat area and if one is to do that often enough, it will likely tear the seam (there is no loop or flap or anything to grab onto to prevent tearing with disconnection over and over).

Essentially you are assembling the stroller each time you open it. The other thing I don’t like is the locking clasp design that was highlighted as a zipper replacement feature. The canopy that folds down does not have the same size metal frame as the opening of the clasp, so the canopy is held loosely instead of tight.

With a few sidewalk bumps, I feel the clasp can come loose and enable the pet to escape. It should fit much more snugly and this could have been easily fixed by making the top frame the same size as the bottom.

I will be using a spring clamp in order to keep it tight. Lastly, your pet should be pretty small. Once you put a pad in there (and it needs one for comfort), any dog or cat over 12-15 pounds would have very little wiggle room.

My Husky Mix started reacting to storms after lightening hit a neighbours tree. She would pant very heavily and shake 30 mins before a storm and for the remainder of the storms duration. I bought “Happy Trails” as I’ve had success with oils for my health.

I started diffusing this when the weather starts to turn and it’s helped immensely!!!! The difference in my Husky’s behaviour has been dramatic. We’ve been through 2 T-Storms now so I know it’s not a fluke.

If she starts to pant, I diffuse this and she calms right down. I haven’t tried her in the car yet with the scent where she also gets nervous but I will definitely have it going in the future. I will be replenishing my supply again.

I got this for my puppy because he gets car sick. I tried a few times diffusing at home and it didn’t bother him but didn’t seem to help make much of a difference with anxiety when we left the room or with other crate related stress.

That was ok because I mainly bought this to help with motion sickness. Today was the first test. I tried passive diffusion in the car and within minutes of leaving the house he threw up. He threw up again about ten minutes later and twice on the way home.

This did not make any difference at all. I suppose it might work topically but he’s still young (16 weeks) and small and I’m not sure I’m ready to start using EOs on him topically. The smell of this blend is nice.

That’s the only good thing I can say unfortunately. :(. I will probably return. Also the bandana is paper thin. I know it was free with the oil but still a let down.

I bought this for my sister’s dog, a 2 and 1/2 year old Golden Retriever who can get overly exuberant especially when she has visitors or when she takes her somewhere. I put a lot of drops on her nylon collar and after about 10 minutes, it actually did work to calm her down.

My sister had used it previously on a bandana but the dog was playing with the scarf and she didn’t use much so she didn’t think it worked. The scent is OK but my sister complained that I used too much.

It must have smelled pretty strong to the dog. So yes, it works but be prepared to use a lot.

We bought this to carry around our puppy until her vaccines had been completed. She is an English Springer Spaniel and, when we saw how large the head hole is, we did worry that she would keep wriggling out.

We therefore decided that it could only be worn front-facing. We need not have worried. Pup jumps in and waits patiently to be clipped in. The integral strap works really well when clipped to a harness, but I would not choose to clip it to a collar for fear of puppy being strangled.

She is not at all freaked as the bag is raised from the floor to be strapped onto the human. She does try to put her paws through the hole, but it is easy to keep her safe with a supporting hand or two.

The ‘chest strap’ fits nicely across the shoulders, giving extra stability, and the bag has been surprisingly comfortable to carry. Furthermore, now that the puppy is fully vaccinated, the bag is going to be a very useful general purpose rucksack.

So, why not five stars? Well, there seems to be a bit of an issue with one of the supporting struts inside the bag. It is fiendishly difficult to secure the struts in the first place, and one of them somehow keeps coming back out while pup is in the bag.

Other than that, we would heartily recommend this product.

This pack is sturdy and has tons of storage space- that being said there are significant flaws. The “stabilizing rods” (there are 4. even though it says 2) are hard to get in/out. And you sacrifice comfort.

Your pet will be laying on the rods if you choose to have them. (Which i would. otherwise the bag is less ventilated). There isn’t enough ventilation- the mesh sides are where the bottle holders are.

So if you carry a bottle, your dog’s air spots are covered. Bottom line- I wouldn’t keep a pet in here without the head flap open. Unfortunately. the head hole is large enough for an 18lb dog to easily jump out.

So my dog will need a lot of training to ride inside. (Since i can’t just keep the flap closed). Now for human comfort. This bag is very adjustable!! The straps have several places to loosen and tighten.

I am 5’1″ and 120lbs. It is so hard to find bags like this that tighten enough- and this does! Another note- for airlines. I wouldn’t recommend for air travel. On its side as they suggest- it wouldn’t be comfortable for any dog to stand up and turn around.

Period. A dog can lay down and that is it.

I have tried many packs. This is one of the best(and most expensive). It’s comfortable to wear, I have a chronic dislocated shoulder and wearing it doesn’t cause any discomfort. Well made and sturdy.

The things I would change. I’d have a mesh front for improved and more air flow. The side vents get blocked with water bottles etc. The personal storage area behind where the doggo sits is too thin/narrow.

Anything thicker than a slim laptop or anything bulky like a jacket ANYTHING thicker than 3 inches expands into where the doggo is. I’d make that area thicker and or expand away fro doggo area. I’d make any storage area expand AWAY from the dog area.

For since I also where a separate waist pack for water , phone , snacks. This bag will strictly be for the pup.

Previously we used the traditional metal dog tie outs to tie out our dogs in the yard or when we are camping. I was excited to give this one a try. I absolutely love everything about it. Very durable and stretchable.

No more metal which is awesome! Allows your dog to travel a good amount of distance. Folds up easily into a bag if you wanted to store it away which is a awesome feature. My dogs even seem like they enjoy this tie out better.

They don’t try to chew this one. The material is durable and easy to set up. No more ugly red cables for this family.

I bought this for camping and backpacking, it’s an easy set up and if done correctly, shouldn’t damage the trees. (Also if you can’t figure out the buckle, look up how to use a cam buckle) I really don’t see the use of the “gear hangs” though.

This tie out weighs 14. 08oz. It is a bit heavy, but it’s only 2oz heavier than RuffWear’s tie out, and theirs is about $20 more expensive. My dog can only carry 7. 5 pounds, and this tie out is about 11-12% of that, but it’s worth it for the peace of mind it provides.

I received a Kurgo Dog Ridgeline Tie Out to try and review. Thoroughly read the instructions for the product – the design is smart. Once your understand what the product can do and is intended for, very easy to use.

Trial run out back in our yard. Nice running range and tangle free. We were able to place our dog in a safe distance away from grilling and interact/paly with him without tripping on a leash !.

I purchased this trailer/stroller combo, for my 14 yr old Jack Russell Terror! He loves it! As long as I don’t stop and talk to anyone!! If I do, I catch all kinds of heck for it! First voyage it was 88*, plus, Gibson hadn’t had his supper yet! Whined the whole time! Next morning, cooler temps, had his breakfast, took off biking! He loved it!! We’ve gone every day, but one, since we received Lucky Dog Trailer/Stroller.

Haven’t used it as a stroller yet! One thing I wish this trailer/stroller had?! Pockets,,,to carry my TAL water can, and a bowl, for Gibson. For long trips. I need to figure out, how to make a pocket, and attach it somehow?! If I would’ve known, it didn’t have pockets, I probably wouldn’t have purchased it? It pulls great, easy assembling, and my dog loves it.

Love the pet stroller. My pup is getting used to it. At first he wasn’t so sure but now he goes into the office where I keep it just to give it a sniff. I think he enjoys going for a long walk. He’s a French bulldog so without it, walks are pretty short.

They don’t tolerate temperature extreme well so we go for walks when it’s nice and mild outside. Never thought I would be a dog mom with a stroller. The cabin of the stroller has great ventilation and is easy for Dexter to get in and out.

It was fairly easy to assemble.

This collar is big enough for my big dogs. The wide size fits nice on my malamutes’ upper neck without slipping down and rubbing it raw like the skinny collars.

Love this collar! Very thick and seems like it will hold up for quite a while.

Finally found one of these online and got it for my 80lb lab pit hound mix. I love it more than she does, great product!

I purchased the 5. 5′-7′ Roamer Bungee Dog Leash for my Aussie/Great Pyrenees mix, Ruby (approx. 45 lbs). She loves to run and hike, but doesn’t like bulky leashes. We have run together in neighborhoods and hiked on nature trails and this leash is awesome! Super comfortable for me (love to be hands-free), and Ruby doesn’t seem like she even notices it clipped to her harness (clip is really durable and easy to use).

I like the bungee that gives a little when she wants to roam a little more. The only “negative” about this leash is that while the leash stretches to 7′, it operates at the 5. 5′ length normally, which is a little shorter than I was expecting.

I didn’t factor this in, but a normal 6′ leash is coming from the end of your arm so when this leash is sitting on your waist you are losing about 1. 5′-2′ of additional room you normally have. If would have realized this, I would have purchased the the 7.

3′-11′ length which would have given me closer to the 6′-7′ hand-held leash length I am accustomed to. Purchasing the wrong leash length was my fault, but otherwise love this leash and will probably get the longer one soon.

We have 4 dogs, and we are very active with them. These dogs are running, hiking, and/or biking almost every day. Ruffwear leashes are used almost exclusively in our house! The Crag and the Flat-Out are the only ones I use for running- they’re lightweight, comfortable around my waist, and the Crag allows for you to adjust to your leash length of choice.

This leash is so customizable and versatile, and these leashes last forever provided that you don’t allow your dogs to gnaw through them. I will tell you the only reason I had to purchase this one is because my husband slammed the plastic buckle in our heavy garage door, caught the leash in his bike chain, and much more.

The LEASH works perfectly, but there are some sharp edges from one of the plastic pieces that I don’t like around my waist when I run. Haha. I’m kind of ashamed to admit that it feels like I’ve tried every leash, harness, collar, etc.

This gear always beats the competition. We’re a Ruffwear family for life.

This leash is so well designed! The ability for the human to wear it around their waist is very nice for jogging and being hands free. I am 5’4″, so the shorter version is okay for me, but my 6’4″ spouse would be more comfortable with the longer version, and we may get another one in the longer length for this reason.

It is super easy to adjust the length to switch between wearing it around your waist and being used hand held. The bungee is excellent for Socks to be able to wander a little but also be reminded that she’s still attached to the leash, and is great when jogging and she stops suddenly to investigate an interesting smell.

The loop near the clasp is also excellent when we need to keep Socks a little closer when passing people on the trail. I am especially excited to use it more on trail runs as it gets cooler. All in all, it is worth the $40+ price tag (the first non-recycled from climbing rope leash we’ve ever had) and I’m so glad I purchased it.

I’ve used this brand of heartworm medication for all of my dogs during their lives. I was an avid customer but since an incident with the company I now question if the product is still effective. Our 10 year old jack Russell was given heartgard monthly for her whole life when at 10 years old she tested positive for heart worms.

Our vet is a participant of the heartgard satisfaction guarantee and rebate program so they immediately contacted the company with our previous negative tests and receipts to try to get them to pay for the expensive treatment.

Instead of trying to immediately treat our dog they tried to poke every hole they could in our case. It took long time but eventually they did re-compensate us some amount of the treatment. Of course, as good pet owners, we immediately paid for the treatment that ultimately saved her life.

It’s just sad that we could have lost our pet if we would’ve waited on the company to pay for treatment. The fact that she had been on heartgard monthly for her whole life & still contracted heart worms is what makes me question if this product is still effective.

Another thing that really irks me about this company is that they have never sent me the promised rebates (prepaid Visa cards) they say should come in the mail 6-8 weeks after purchase of x amount of their products.

Literally just in the lives of the dogs I have now equal $180 worth of not received rebates. It’s sad but now I will be looking for another brand & urge others to do the same. I totally understand if you stick with this brand because in the past it did work but beware of the bogus claims they make!.

I was very hesitant to buy these for my pup because she would not eat the heart worm chewables that I previously bought no matter what I did. I broke them up and put it in all kinds of different foods and eventually I had to throw out two of them after putting them in her wet food, not to mention she didn’t get her dose for the month.

She literally got mad at me and ran from me and now won’t eat wet food because she thinks it has the medicine in it! When my vet recommended these I looked for the pill form which would at least be easier to shove down her throat (nicely of course) I found that it is next to impossible to find any in pill form.

I finally decided I had to buy these. I decided the best way to “trick” her was to break it up and give it to her while at the park as a treat and it worked like a charm! I think she may have even eaten it without tricking her honestly, I may try that next month.

I am so relieved that she took the medication, she was already a month behind.

I’ve used this product for a few years now and hope they never stop making it. It is very effective. My dogs are indoor pets, but we live out of town, and to their owner’s dismay, they love getting in the wild bush, grasses, and stagnant water.

Last summer we had a large population of mosquitos, and while on Heartgard Plus Chewables, my dogs have never gotten heartworms. I never have any worries. And, giving it to them is soooo easy. They wag their tails (and their whole back end) while they wait for it.

They think it’s a treat!.

HS 12/14. Ordered 12 in the red bold floral. The fit is absolutely fine, having no expectation other than to wear over lightweight clothes when caught in the summer rain. The sleeves certainly aren’t too tight for me, so maybe the latest version has been adapted following peeps having issues last year, which I read on earlier reviews.

Just a wee point on reviews, please could reviewers tell us the size they are and the size they ordered, otherwise it renders the review unhelpful to those of us trying to get an idea of what to go for ourselves.

As the title says, the actual waterproof Jacket is very pretty, I chose the butterfly, then wished I had chosen the safe blue spot. But now it has arrived the small butterfly design is pretty and nicely understated, and I am glad I chose it.

But. and its a big but, I am not sure about keeping it, the sleeves are too narrow to comfortably fit a coat under, the body would be fine but not the sleeves, round top of the arm, perhaps a lighter weight jacket with softer sleeves would be okay, Cardigan weight would be great.

Perfect for the type weather we have been having now, when its not that cold, but the skies have this sudden urge to let forth a deluge of unrelenting rain, like monsoon weather! When an actual coat would be too hot to wear anyway.

so while writing this I have actually now decided to keep, & add it to my wardrobe. it would have had 5 stars, because it IS well made and a nice length, but for those sleeves round the top of the arms.

and I do not have not large arms. needed to be a tad wider. Will be good for mums waiting outside in the rain for their little ones, I remember getting soaked on those days even with a brolly. I will keep mine all nicely tucked up in its fabulous pocket in my bag so its always with me when I’m out.

I bought the berry floral which is a lovely colour, one of my favourite autumn/winter colours. Its is lovely and colourful. I have another in silvery grey which I bought from QVC a couple of years ago which I love too.

I only wear a thin top underneath these as I dont like the bulk of a sweater/jumper and Im always too warm for them. Im on waitlist for the butterfly design, so fingers crosssed I get that one too. Great price aswell.
