20 Best Transmission Slip Fix (2022 Updated)

This is not a bad product and would have worked had my transmission not had a major mechanical failure. If you just started noticing transmission trouble then this product will help get you by for a short period of time.

Be sure not to overfill your transmission as this can cause more damage!.

Transmission was occasionally slipping. Fluid level was correct. Changed fluid and filter. And added this product. No more slipping.

Saw this product at AutoZone when I went there to get catalytic cleaner. Decided to give a try since I got a cvt transmission that will jerk especially at lower speed,say 20 miles per hour. But was so happy this product help me stop the jerk after car was driven for about two weeks.

Transmission is so smooth.

I typically don’t believe in these types of “snake oil” products, but I must say this one worked for me. My Rav4 torque converter was growling at certain low RPMs in overdrive. After checking the transmission fluid, which looked like a strawberry smoothy, it was apparent that anti-freeze was likely being introduced into the transmission fluid via a pinhole in the radiator.

After replacing the radiator, I drained and replaced the transmission fluid 2 times. The growl remained. I drained the transmission fluid two more times and each of those times I replaced 10 oz. of regular transmission fluid with this LubeGard anti-slip.

The shifting growl is 99. 9% gone now and very hard to reproduce. Could it be circumstantial? I suppose. Maybe simply draining and refilling the transmission fluid 4 times would have done the trick. But I didn’t see any substantial improvement until I added this product to the mix.

this product along with a transmission fluid and filter change had remarkable results on intermittent lurching into 1st from stop or slow speeds. since i’m not a scientist i can’t say what exactly happened.

but the product was recommended by my very experienced mechanic, plus numerous other reviews have stated how well the product worked. so they may maked up for the extra star. but my guess is that this played a significant role in clearing up the shifting lurch.

my 2002 impala apparently has issues with the trans solenoid at times kicking in late, so the rest of the issue may be beyond the scope of this product. but i’d certainly buy again if needed.

added this to my 2006 odyssey transmission as a last resort. They wanted $3000 for a transmission rebuild. Afraid to drive the van out of town as the shifting problems were getting worse over the years.

Did a drain and fill on the tranny and added the lubegard without much hope. Drove the car 100 miles and repeated the process. Drove 500 miles and repeated the process once again. Repeated 1 more time for a total of 3 drain and fills.

Now my transmission is working great. No more shifting issues. The clunking has gone away. I would drive it anywhere across the country now without concern. Be careful adding too much at once. I added 1 oz per quart I added back into transmission on every drain and fill.

That was only 3 oz per time.

I use this in both of my truck transmissions. Both ended up failing. First was a complete remanufactured 4L60E. 7k miles when started slipping/shuddering. Fluid is foamy which indicates overheating. Second was a 46RE.

Says this will replace ATF+4. This was a rebuilt transmission with 18,000 miles on it. Never a problem with this transmission till I put this fluid in it. Had the same result as with the GM transmission.

The fluid foamed which causes it to overheat. I also added to Lucas oil additive to both. I use a separate transmission cooler for both transmissions so there should be no reason why they overheat like this.

Talk to a Dodge mechanic and he says he’s running into this same problem with people using the Lucas oil transmission products.

Lucas makes reliably good products to maintain vehicles. Used the Lucas Oil Transmission Fix on my truck – went from hard shifting to perfect in 10 minutes time! Using this conditioner as a preventative measure to keep transmission in top shape in our Honda Civic.

I bought a 16 year old suv (toyota highlander) that strained (hesitated) on the 1st to 2nd upshift. vehicle had 125k. I dropped the pan @ changed the filter. Was obvious that it had never been serviced before.

The bottom of the pan was a grey film and the 3 magnets were covered with metal shavings. After reassembly, 4 1/2 quarts new atf and a 20 ounce bottle of lucas atf conditioner were added to top off. The results of this were an overall improvement.

But the delay on the upshift , even though somewhat mitigated, was still present. Encouraged by the improvement, I decided to add another bottle (after removing some atf). This was done about 300 miles after the initial treatment.

And. BINGO! That did the trick. The hesitation vanished and the Shifting is smoother,& more positive,both up & down. Yes, I’m aware of the fact that at least half of the original fluid still remains in the system- but this product did exactly what I wanted.

For about 25 dollars. Impressive. My other vehicles will get some of this dope too.

I’m using this with my 1988 Ford Econoline, added it to my usual trans fluid when I did my fluid change. My transmission was slipping when cold this does seem to have helped, but I don’t know how long for.

Hoping it will give my transmission a few more miles. If you look up Lucas Transmission Fix, there are lots of people who rate it as cheap fix, and its been around for a long time so probably worth a try.

I bought a BMW X5 4. 6is with only 40,000 on the clock, the vehicle was in central London when I went to view and test drive and it drove very well. However as I drove out of London on to the M25 I accelerated hard and when the kickdown engaged it felt like I had been rear ended.

Being a private sale, I turned straight around but the seller was not willing take it back. Over the next few hundred miles I noticed it also had an issue when going uphill at a certain speed of hesitating/hunting between second and third gear, it was only just noticeable but still an issue.

I was quoted upwards of 2k for a rebuild, first I had them do an oil change which help slightly but still both issues there. Then I tried the Lucas and it has made a massive difference, although it is not completely cured, it is way, way better than it was and now only for the fact I know it is the hunting is no longer noticeable and the kickdown issue is also gone.

Make sure you have a good pump/syringe to add it as it is thick and I had pre heated the oil as much as I could to thin it down but the cheap plastic oil pump popped it’s seals so I had to nip and get a metal one.

My older jeep was showing check engine light codes suggesting transmission issue. After ruling out electical sensor issues, and before having transmission serviced, I thought to try TransX Auto Trans Tuneup.

Transmission now operates as it should, and check engine light subsequently went out. It took about 3 days of regular driving for the TranX to work it’s magic.

Did the trick! Just as described on the label. Great stuff! Applied as instructed. Immediate results were promised but I had my doubts. The improvement was obvious and immediate.

I’ve never been a believer in these “fix in a bottle additives” but this one actually works. Had a transmission shop look at my 2012 enclave. It would shudder going at a steady cruise. They claimed it needed a rebuild for $5000.

I knew that was a lie. It shifted perfectly fine and no slipping. This was supposed to be a reputable shop, too. My car would shudder most on long inclines. The engine rpm would fluctuate a couple 100 rpm even at steady throttle.

So I did a drain/fill with fresh oil. Drove for 2 weeks just to check if oil change made a difference and shudder was still there. Added 1 tube of shudder fix and made a noticeable difference. Waited 2 more weeks and added 1 more tube of shudder fix.

Took a test drive up a long incline where I knew it always shudder. It is so much better now. Pretty much no shudder and the engine rpm is nice and steady.

Okay first off it worked perfectly for my truck. When truck would get into overdrive I hade a slight shudder intermittently so I put this in and immediately it was gone. Pay attention to your vehicle.

Pay attention to what speed you’re at when you feel the shudder or vibration. Sometimes vibrations are caused by unbalanced tires. Anyway now let’s get on about this awesome product. This product is meant for torque converter issues.

If you use this product and notice and immediate fix, it likely means you have a fluid problem in your vehicle and should probably get a transmission flush to clear out existing dirty transmission fluid to get rid of particles that have accumulated.

If this product doesn’t work for you at all then it’s more than likely and mechanical problem and not a transmission fluid problem. More than likely your torque converter is going bad and should be replaced.

Also note that in more severe cases of transmission fluid being dirty, shudder fix will take a little longer to work. If it doesn’t work instantly than drive about 20 miles continuous and it should work by then.

If it still hasn’t stopped the shudder than as I stated above it is more than likely a mechanical problem with your torque converter. Hope my review helps.

Been experiencing poor shifiting and shudder in my 4. 0 07 Pacifica. This happens at 20-25, 35ish, and 45-55 intermittently. Purchased it at 35k, I have just over 200k on it, and second owner. Transmission fluid and filter change was at 125k.

First of all, BMW’s are never easy to work on and I needed to put the car on jack stands, and remove to filler plug to add this which made a heck of a mess dumping trans fluid all over the driveway (hint: put an oil catch box or pan to avoid this).

I squeezed as much as possible into the trans and refilled it till it was just weeping from the fill hole, then put the plug back in. Took it out for a test drive around the block and the shudder was GONE! It’s been over a week now and got stuck in some stop and go traffic and still no shudder, AMAZING! This thing saved me a few thousand dollars!.

Seems to work. 2015 Rav4 with 194,000 miles had a shudder when at part throttle low rpm lockups. Changed the trans fluid and filter, used Toyota WS atf and added 1 tube of this and shudder was gone. After about 300 miles it seems to be coming back if I try to make it happen.

I will do a drain and fill without using Shudder Stop and see if it is better or worse. Then I will do another drain and fill a few hundred miles later and old fluid should be pretty well gone. I will try it again without Shudder Stop to see if it really works.

If it does or doesn’t shudder I think I will add another tube regardless. I think it is like adding limited slip additive to a Posi rear end. The sudden is caused by the lockup plate in the torque converter slipping and chattering on lockup like and alone manual clutch.

Hi there, as most of the Volvo V70/II Owners i got trouble with the auto gearbox from Aisin. Hard downshifting and upslipping between 2nd and 3rd gear- Made a flush at 160000, oil was black and it was getting much better with the new oil, red and clear.

Then i heard from TransTune in several Forums and i gave it a try. I filled half a can (~8Oz. ) directly through the dipstick and after a few turns it shift as smooth as i expect from a Autobox. Will do an other Flash and fill the rest directly to the fluid, shure it save my box.

I dont’t understand that Volvo say it’s a lifetime fill for the gearbox, though everywhere you use a mashine with oilfill, aou have to Change the oil every now and then, even in the mower.

I bought Sea Foam trans tune for my power steering system in my car. The rack and pinion was sticking and the steering was sticky when trying to turn at low speeds. I followed the directions on the can and the power steering works just like a new car.

I have used Sea Foam products in my boat as well and have always been satisfied. I would highly recommend this product to family and friends.

I am not a believer in quick fixes or miracle additives but this stuff really works, it cleans the tarnish off all the inner transmission parts and removes carbon from burnt fluids. You will feel a difference in your shift patterns almost immediately.
