20 Best Truck For Mudding (2022 Updated)

This truck handles awesome but the axles are complete JUNK. HOPEFULLY after ordering 350 bucks of Vitavon axles it will hold up. Don’t buy this truck expecting to NOT spend serious money on it.

This truck is awesome! So well built, super fast, excellent detail, seems very durable. Losi did a spectacular job when they made this.

Bought this for our 3 year old son who’s mad on anything cars or monster trucks, and anything RC. We have a large collection of petrol, nitro and electric RC cars but they are all for the older boys in the family so we decided to get him something fun that is easy to use.

This RC monster truck fits the bill perfectly. Nice and simple to use controller, easy to do tricks such as wheelie and endo which never gets boring. Strong and sturdy design, very durable (thus far) and a decent size.

Chunky wheels and tyres give it plenty of grip. It’s just a fun all round RC especially for the price they are going for now. Only slight negatives I can think of is charging cable is in an awkward location and parts can’t be changed, and additional batteries can’t be brought for the vehicle so when it runs out you have to charge it and wait for it to charge which takes an hour or two , so when it does break you have to replace it, which we will do if this breaks as it’s been excellent.

Our son has smashed this is full speed many many times at funny angles into hard objects and no damage yet so it is very sturdy. Highly recommend.

Worked once for roughly 20 minutes and even then it was hit or miss on the controls functioning properly. The next time we tried to play with it the red power light came to a slow blink and the remote control wouldn’t work for it.

So basically we paid a hefty remote control car amount for a big stationery toy truck. It’s not really cool to make such a cheap product. I recommend boycotting all things Monster Jam. Kids get excited about the toy only to find they only have a giant paperweight.

This is a great product. Absolutely love it and it’s suitable for my 3 and 4 year olds on the count that it’s not super fast (not like the Megaladon). I’ve deducted a star because there’s a practically identical version that I don’t believe stunts but maybe drives a lot faster.

There’s needs to be some more info on the difference between the two variants (the other one doesn’t have a bright green chassis but is the same scale and price). Other than that, an excellent purchase.

I have this set installed on a 2010 Jeep JK which is lifted. I used to run Goodyear MTRs but decided to try Toyo which my friend recommended. Now, I will never buy anything BUT Toyo. The tires are so well balanced even for 35s, the ride is very good on highway along with directional stability.

No wondering with these OC MTs. Offroad – traction is great in sand, mud and snow. I rotate my tires (5 wheel rotation) every 6K miles by hand. I do this every time I change oil and the wear is SO even.

If you don’t rotate and you get uneven wear – that’s a you problem. If you don’t get your wheels balanced – that’s also a you problem. Treating these tires properly will make them last a long time. I just got a JT Gladiator and will be putting Toyos on it as well.

My JK needs a new set as well so more money for tires and in this case – Toyo. These tires have been through the Black Rock Desert, Alabama Hills, Coyote Flats, Panoche Hills – BLM land and performed perfectly.

I was looking for a set of aggressive mud tires. After looking around I decided to go with a set 35×12. 5r17s on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Installed these February of 2012 with 100k on the truck. I have had these through 2-3 foot snow drifts, gone through some pretty nasty mud holes and towed way more weight than my truck is rated for and have never had an issue with the tires.

They do everything a mud tire is supposed to do and some things a mud tires shouldn’t do. It has done everything very well. When I bought these tires I was warned that they will only last 30-40k due to the aggressive tread pattern.

With just over 80k miles on them them now I feel like I have got my money’s worth. They are starting to show signs of age with some weather cracks, the front tires are starting to chop a little but not bad.

Mostly due to a lack of tire rotations. I have recommended and bragged about these tires often. I would strongly recommend these to anyone looking for a mud tire. If you are wondering yes they do make some noise, I feel like they are on the lower average of the mud tire world for noise.

Yes I did notice a decrease in fuel economy but I went to a larger tire from the factory size. Yes I did notice a steering difference but only until I figured out what air pressure to run the tires at.

50psi was the sweet spot on my truck lower pressure cause a wondering feel at high way speed higher pressure made the ride feel rough. I never really noticed a braking feel change tho. I hope this helps someone make a decision on these tires.

I bought these tires (37-13. 50-R17) hoping for the best. I knew when the tire shop balanced them they were going to be great. It took very minimal weight to balance them. The guy said they were as round as a Michelin street tire.

They are awesome! I rotate every 3000-3500 miles. I have 25K miles on them and they look great. No doubt I’ll get 60K+ out of them. I use my truck for daily driving, work and off road. They worked flawlessly on the trails at Uwharrie National Forest and others.

You will not be disappointed!.

Got the Gladiator 1st then had to buy the Wrangler. This is the V2 with new remote and esc. Perfect companion for Gladiator. Tips: Set the transmitter endpoints by ear. Listen to the servo when setting the dual rate.

Turn remote full left/right until servo is quite at full range. Any noise at the endpoints means the servo is trying turn the steering past its range. This will burn the servo out. Set the throttle the same way.

Click it towards reverse until you hear motor wine. Then click it forward until the motor wines. Should be about 8 clicks. Click it back 4 times for centering the throttle. I set mine back 6 clicks. 2 clicks back from neutral.

This seems to give me better slow speed control and range on both the Gladiator and the Wrangler. Do not over tighten ANYTHING on your SXC24!!! Especially the wheel nuts, steering knuckles and transmission case.

Wheels must move freely. Move wheels back and forth with finger while you tighten the wheel nut until their movement starts to become restricted. Then back off wheel nut until they move freely again.

Steering knuckles should also move freely. There should be a small gap between the steering knuckle and the axle, upper and lower. It just rides on the screws. Driveshafts need to be in sync. I do this by making sure all 4 grub screws on the drive shafts line up and face the same direction.

Do not fill axle diffs with grease. This will limit the vehicle’s performance. Use TRI Flow lube on all the bearings and use it to clean the axle shafts and worm gears. Use small amount of Lucas white lithium grease on worm gear and in cv dog bones.

Just enough to coat each surface. Remove any excess. TRI Flow on the transmission gears and bearings also improves performance. If the motor gets hot check your drive line and transmission case for over tightened bolts.

There are 6 very small clear silicone o-rings. 1 in each dog bone and 2 in each worm gear. Find them on your schematics and don’t lose them during disassembly. Buy an EMAX ES08MA II 12g Analog Metal Gear Servo.

You will want one. Buy an Injora tight tolerance steering link set. You will want one. Move front bumpers in to their closest position and clip off the excess plastic. This increases approach angle. Tape a quarter or nickel of your choice to the top of the steering servo.

Improves performance.

Upgrade the servo and remove the motor sticker and you have a reliable and high performing little crawler! Live mine. Few upgrades later and its awesome!

Very poor quality wood used for this truck. Wood seems more like plywood than soild wood, is thin and the coating on the paint leaves the truck feeling rough not smooth. Very disappointing toy from Hape.

Not at all like their usual quality. The wheels are very simple wood disks without any rubber thread. With normal play this truck seems like it will break quickly or the wood will split due to the poor materials used.

This is much bigger than it seems online. The dump truck is large enough to fit at least a dozen, if not more, Hot Wheels in the dumper. It is sturdy and well made. I love that it uses minimal plastic pieces and leaves a lot of room for creative play!.

Fantastic quality, beautifully made. Really really pleased. They are bigger than I expected, and great for little hands. They are solid and won’t break very easily.

I have a few of these around the farm. They are great wheel carts except for one fatal flaw, the wheels are total junk. They dont have an actual bearing, the metal axle just goes through the composite wheel.

Over time, the axle wears away at the composite hub, causing more and more wobble, until the hub just starts to crack and disintegrate. This has happened to every single one I have. The OEM wheels cost more than the cart, if you can even get them.

Fortunately there are plenty of aftermarket wheels with actual bearings that you can find online for just the replacement. Sadly I feel this flaw is intentional by the manufacturer. Otherwise, these carts would be amazing.

We love this cart! Makes life with horses easier! We have Belgian horses and LOTS of manure. We were using single wheeled wheelbarrows before we bought the Gorilla cart. Omgosh, the wheelbarrows were so hard to push.

The horses would knock them over all the time, and we struggled to clean the paddocks, it took FOREVER. The Gorilla cart is super easy to roll, super easy to dump, and makes like so much easier. We are done cleaning in half the time.

We will DEFINITELY be buying more of these for the ranch.

We use these wheelbarrows exclusively on our horse farm. The capacity is ideal for fewer trips to the sawdust pile and to the manure pile during stall maintenance. They come in handy during blanket season, at times I have had 25 piled in there (using bungee cords to hold them on).

We have also used them during horse shows as part of the game portion of the show. These wheel barrows are sometimes used by children as young as five and their design makes it easy for the littles to pitch in.

Completely worth the price!.

I had a set of 35×12. 50R20 put on my 15’ GMC Sierra crew cab 4×4 1/2 ton from the dealership. These tires have lasted me 82,000 miles. I know others have claimed unreasonable tread wear, I believe that is mainly due to running max or near max air psi, too narrow of a wheel or improper rotation.

I would normally rotate a tire like these every 3000 miles but with the newer vehicles lasting 10,000miles between oil change, thats when I decided to rotate my tires and it worked great. I would recommend more often on the heavier vehicles.

I also run 30psi all the way around. I have pulled loaded car haulers and my boat with no issues. If your going to be pulling 5000lb plus loads I would recommend 40+ but we’re talking about a sub 8000lb vehicle on 10ply tires, there is absolutely no need to run 50+psi in these tires unless pulling very heavy loads.

Also contributing to a long life span I run a 12” wide wheel allowing the tire to set “flat” instead of having it pinched up on a 9” wheel causing the center tread to wear unevenly. With this combination they wore very evenly with no signs of chopping.

It also allows for a very smooth and quiet ride. At this psi the tires handle very well in rain, mud, snow and even icy conditions given the driver is knowledgeable and cautious of these conditions. Everyone already knows they are great looking tires, and I am blown away by there performance.

The only negative is they are unfortunately heavy and effect fuel economy, but if you are looking for fuel economy you wouldnt be driving a 4wd vehicle with MT. Definitely worth the loss in mpg for the longevity and performance.

Also it would be nice if they had a 44-49” option in a 16”+ wide for the more modified off road trucks. There would be a substantial market in those ranges for the offroad guys and gals. Great job Toyo!.

I purchased the Toyo M/T’s back in 2014 (33×12. 5×20). I am almost at 80K on them and there is still tread and life. They are one of the best looking aggressive tread designed tires (for a 4X4) on the market with the standard & quality to back it up.

Most of my driving is on the street, but with kids that surf & snowboard I have experienced their superb handling in sand & snow. In fact, I have rarely had to rely on the 4 wheel drive because the Toyo MT’s “grab and throw” so well.

I do rotate every 5K-7K; & I’ll definitely purchase again! My only debacle: Will I try the new ATIII’s this go around?? Thank you Toyo!.

My grandson’s 9th birthday was coming up and I wanted him to have his own Traxxas Slash, so we could share time together racing and having fun. I already have a Traxxas Monster Jam truck, so wanted to keep it all Traxxas! He and I were both blown away at how large the Slash actually is! It only took a few moments to unbox the unit, charge the included battery, set it up for “training mode” and figure out the on-board audio.

We were in our dining room and had the OBD set to high volume. He and I loved it, but not so much for my wife and his mother! LOL In either case, he and I BOTH love his new Traxxas Slash! The car is built very well, easily programmed for “racing mode”, “training mode” and “standard mode”, depending upon you immediate needs.

Hopefully, we don’t need spare parts right away, but Traxxas is known for the part supply and customer service. I can highly recommend the Traxxas Slash to anyone who enjoys RC racing OR just getting into the hobby! You won’t be sorry!.

Ordered this Truck on line and received with no issues! This was a Christmas present for my 9 year old son and his first real performance RC car. This car is very user friendly, comes assembled and ready to run.

All you need is a pack of AA batteries for the controller. Do not like the charger which comes with it. Charger does not have a 120VAC plug and instead has to plug into the cigarette lighter on my truck.

Will need to invest in a charger so my son can keep charging the batteries without draining my truck battery. The sound on the car is amazing! Very loud when set to max and is adjustable for sensitive ears.

All around great first truck for a young RC racer! I was so pleased with it, I am considering purchasing one for myself!.

Wow! This is a very nice handling RC. I have several others in 1/12 size that give me some basis to judge. The steering is very positive and stable handles in turns. The speed I find very easy to control having no flips or turn overs so far.

This RC truck has been great fun and worth the cost. There are many upgrade on the internet to customize your truck. This truck is fun to work on. I highly recommend this RC for all interested even careful beginners.

Out of the box it is fast and can be made faster. For me it is fast enough for the space I have to use.

would give more stars but was missing parts like the SHRADER VALVE X2 AND ALL GREASE FITTINGS I had to buy. I called the manufacture which went to voicemail so I left a message. and havent heard back.

so I went to the local hardware store and got them my self got it working. overall Allows me to work under the center of vehicles even if my floors are broken up and uneven. easy to store. I would recommend having one.

just check the boxes before you leave.

The unit is heavy but it is a given thinking the amount it lifts. I like how you can lift the car and leave it in the air indefinitely once it is locked. When I bought it Walmart price was around $250 lower compared to everywhere!.

This makes working on cars at home alot easier! Was able to remove and install engine on my 95 C1500 we no help. Worth the money if you ask me. Only extra thing you need is 2. 5 quarts of transmission fluid.

I wanted something pretty aggressive for offroading as well as the look for on road. What I really didnt expect was just how well these tires actually do on the streets. Not too loud, dont pull real bad, and have had great traction in snow and rain in NH.

Offroad these tires really shine. Excellent grip in rocks, mud and trails. Easily cleaning their tread by spinning up. I will be buying another set when i wear these out.

I had the NITTO trail grapplers in a 35×12. 5r20. they looked great lots of compliments. These yokohamas though, what an upgrade so far. I got 62k miles out of my nittos and rotated them once. I got these Yokohama tires at a price of about $600-$1000 less.

the real savings is in who you have install them. That’s another $500. Buying these tires and doing the route i decided, i saved around $1400 from my original qoute of full install. I saved over a thousand dollars, my gas milage has gone up, my tires are quiter, adn my gas mileage has raised 3 miles.

Awsome tires! I have been running BFG T/A for 20 years and have been missing out. Excelent ride quality and the wet traction is incredible. Road noise is no greater than worn T/A s. Would highly recommend these tires for daily driver and off road.

I went back and forth for months between brands. Living on disability big name brands were just not an option. These had good reviews every place I looked so I figured why not. For 285s I was quoted $1450 locally for a set of 4 name brand tires.

These ran me $825 including tax. It was a 90 minute drive home traveling on asphalt and the last 5 miles on dirt. At 55 and 65 mph you hear the tires sing but not all that bad. The radio at normal volume covered it.

At 35 and 45 mph barely noticeable. They were great on the dirt too which was mud and rutted from all the weather lately. At this point I’d buy again without thinking twice. The deciding factor will be the long haul.

Can I get 45k out of them like expensive tires. I hope so.

First off the tires showed up next day so hats off to Priority Tires for lightning fast shipping. Now onto the tires. I’ve only got a few miles on them so far, but at this point I am impressed. They balanced up well and have no wobbles at any speed.

And while there is a slight hum at lower speeds, overall they are actually very quiet for how aggressive the tread pattern is. They also look great and there doesn’t seem to be anymore roll at least in comparison to the Faulkens of the same size I was running before.

Can’t comment on wear as I haven’t been running them long but at this point but I am overall very impressed!.

I ordered these because of price and reviews. I ordered 4 new tires , 3 showed up in 24hrs and the 4th took 5 days to arrive. The date code on tires for manufacturing date was 19 months old. If tires are not stored properly they begin to break down and the consumer gets less longevity from the tires.

It is never good to buy new tires that are 18+ months old. Not happy about date code , (4920) is the 49th week of 2020. I bought these 7/18/22. shipping and date code is why I give it 2 stars. When you spend $700 you expect a new product.

The BFG A/T is the best tire I’ve ever owned in my life. In the 80’s and 90’s they were great in all conditions but had very poor tread life. The KO2’s last 5x longer than the old BFG AT’s did. Of coarse, there are exceptions to any tire you run.

The majority of heavy duty and light truck owners are on paved roads 75% of the time. I live at 10,000 ft elevation in the Rocky Mountains. I drive on paved roads maybe 30% of the time day to day. To and from my house are dirt roads, recycled asphalt, and what most would consider 4 wheel roads.

The KO2’s out perform any tire in extreme conditions I’ve ever owned. Of coarse there is always compromise. The paved roads where I live are very curvy so if you drive like your in a race car every day they will wear down faster.

They are quiet for the first 70% of their life and get louder toward the end of there life. Running a 2500 duramax, 350’s and 550’s for 30 years in the mountains of Colorado, I was used to 20k-30k max on any tire.

I was shocked to get 40-50k out of the KO2’s. Any one who writes a bad review on these tires, doesn’t use them for what they were made for. Cityiots, mainly that have all the lifts, suspension, racks, jacks and gas cans to go to the grocery store in Denver.

This tire cannot be beat for grip or ware in all extreme conditions if you live in the mountains and don’t want to swap out a winter studded tire to a seasonal tire. To any of the haters out there that drive your hummers in the city everyday, I would opt for the cheapest tire you can buy.

For those of you that depend on your tires for day to day life for any condition, this is the tire to buy.

I had purchased a set of Mickey Thompson Tires that were supposed to not only be similar but better and can’t argue with the name when it’s Mickey Thompson and so I purchased a set of them and the warranty was even actually better.

Well name isn’t everything and I shouldn’t imply that BF Goodrich is not a big name as they are for sure. I barely got 10k out of the Mickey Thompsons and a couple are still useable we’ll say for spares but they had a treadwear warranty of 96,000 KMS and I didn’t even get 15,000 out of them and here is the real kicker when I tried to contact Mickey Thompson to get warranty on the tires I sent E-Mails, left messages and so on and not once heard back from any method of contact so a warranty is no good even if it’s for eternity if a company won’t honor it.

Now down to performance, the BF is night and day tops I live where winter is bad and these stop on ice like it’s a dime and eat through snow, hydroplaning is a pipe dream as it never happens anymore, gas mileage is up and road noise is down.

IF and I mean IF there was a negative is that in my size it they didn’t come with white lettering but that has no bearing on the actual tire and it’s functionality at all. Overall 100/100 couldn’t ask for better and will never buy anything but for my trucks and SUV’s.

They can be expensive but I’m a firm believer of you get what you pay and this couldn’t be more true in this situation. You will NOT be disappointed.

I’m sure the tires will be fine and everything was done on time. Three items on the installation. First, there are multiple scratch marks on all four rims after the installation, all around the edge of the outer each wheel, they were minty before this.

Secondly, I had a brand new license plates (football team) and the front one had been bent back on itself. I bent it back but now has crease across it now. Lastly, I’m not sure what pressure they installed in the truck tires because it blew my gauge apart.

Maximum pressure written on the tire is 80 psi but most shops would likely put only 65 psi. I’m going to run them at 40 and 45 psi as per recommendations from other truck owners for ride quality. I’m not really complaining about this cause this is owners preference but other tire shops I’ve dealt with have asked what I am doing with the truck and fill accordingly.

I’ll be interested if I hear back from CT.

Got this truck for my son’s birthday, he is over the moon. Quite the upgrade offer the toy quality one he had previously. Very impressed with the speed, quality, and overall build. Love how the suspension actually works properly and soaks up bumps and landings without bouncing! We’re both having a blast with it!.

Bought it for my husband that likes to tinker. We have been having a great time with this car. It is fun and sturdier than I expected. Our dogs have taken a liking to chasing it around the yard, so we went to the dog park and I haven’t seen them run like that in a while.

It is so much faster than I thought it would be. DOWNSIDE: My husband has already started purchasing upgrades so now it will become a potentially expensive, but super fun hobby.

Axle broke on its first ride out of the box! Flimsy plastic piece that holds an axel screw snapped like a toothpick. So very disappointed! Thought I was paying more for quality- next time I’ll stick to the dollar store version which actually last longer.

Rip off.

I bought me son this for his 10th birthday and he absolutely loved it.

Such a nice RC! I have not ran it yet but very much looking forward to it

I paid extra for the battery and charger, and the charger is COMPLETE junk. You CANNOT use it to charge the battery in your house. It’s a car charger. So, on Easter Day during Coronavirus my husband had to go to our local hobby store which thankfully was accepting phone orders to buy a $50 plug-in charger.

To top that off, my kid broke a pin and bearing in the first 2 minutes he was playing with the truck by running into a curb on the street. Not as heavy-duty as we were led to believe. His $20 RC cars have never broken from simply running into something.

Very disappointing first day of ownership.
