Purchased to replace the shocks on a 2008 Silverado 2500 HD with 93k miles, stock ride height, and the OEM shocks still on it. The front shocks were completely shot and the rear were not much better.

After a long soak with PB Blaster, all the bolts came out easily and with no problems at all. Installation was easy as well. I just left the shipping straps on them to keep them compressed and installed them as is.

Once both bolts were through and nuts started, I cut the straps as they were the perfect length for the installation. The overall ride is significantly improved over what I had. I cannot say like new as I did not drive the truck at new, but is is a much smoother ride now.

04 GMC 2500HD. Cognito UCA/ Bilstein front leveling. Rear clapped out Monroe Reflex. I needed new shocks what better way to replace to match the front. The 186742 gave me a smooth rear end and is able to handle any rough terrain with ease.

I installed these shocks and in the first mile they felt pretty good. After putting 20 miles on them they are getting progressively stiffer. So harsh that I’m afraid my dash will break off in my lap.

My truck is getting rattled apart. I think I would have been better off bolting 2×4’s in place of these shocks. Now I find out that since they are installed I can’t return them. Very disappointed in the product and Summit Racing.

I bought all four shocks for my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 but only installed the rears so far. I didn’t think I would notice the difference but I did. The old shocks had 125,000 miles on them and were more wore out than I thought.

I noticed a huge difference when towing my trailer. I had forgotten all about the new shocks when I started down the road with my trailer. It was so different, I thought something was wrong because I didn’t feel my trailer at all.

With the old shocks and my trailer, I had a lot more bounce. If you’re on the fence about replacing your rear shocks and you tow a trailer almost every day like I do, do yourself a favor and get these shocks.

You won’t believe the difference. These are not inexpensive shocks but you get what you pay for.

Truck now rides like a new vehicle with the Bilstein 5100 shocks and Monroe steering damper. Front shocks were somewhat difficult to install. Shocks had to be compressed to get the shock tower bolts reinstalled.

I was able to compress them and install the three tower nuts by using a long socket and extension that fit over the top of the shock and using a crowbar as a lever to push the extension down. The rear shocks were easy.

After purchasing a 1999 Dodge diesel 4×4 and driving it a few thousand miles, I quickly came to the conclusion that something was wrong with my suspension. My trucks suspension was horrible. something like a covered wagon going through a field of rocks.

I ordered 4 Bilstein 5100 series shocks and installed them. best money I have spent on my truck so far. The ride is vastly improved and my truck is actually a pleasure to drive.

I must say these may have saved my life no thanks to ram quality control. went to the suspension shop to have them installed and front end alignment. The took the tire off and found the left upper ball joint had no nut on it, 5 minutes into installation,could’ve been catastrophic.

Not something u check and only had one oil change since I bought this truck new, so now I’m not happy with my ram 2016 4×4 crew cab. Have called a filled a report dealership next week. I made the call to go ahead and install and call ram hotline.

So far awesome ride and comfort. Have them installed if u don’t have a spring compressor or a alignment rack, worth spending the few hundred extra dollars, because it will need a front alignment. I set it at 1.

4 and I now have a 3/4″ rake which is great, it raise the truck 2″ glad I stopped their every truck is different and a good suspension shop will know what to do. 2016 Ram 4x4crew cab.

My ram 1500 was already setting on a 6 inch lift but it looked like the front was lower than the front (which it was only an inch difference) I wanted to level it out more and still have a smooth and comfortable ride, I didn’t want the stiffness of a leveling kit.

The 5100s absolutely did it too, I went the full 2. 8 inches so my truck has a little bit of a lean but I think it looks great, I’m setting at almost 9 inches of lift in the front and couldn’t be any happier, I just need 37s now.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars on the install was because I was going to do it myself but didn’t have a spring compressor so I had to take it down to the local shop, they had my truck all day but realigned it and made sure everything was good.

I can’t complain one bit about it though, i love these bilsteins, I’ll never go back to a regular leveling kit again. 2015 Dodge Ram 1500.

Fast shipping and a good price! These shocks exceeded my expectations. The truck looks much better level and the shocks noticeably improved the ride and handling. Since these are struts, this is a job best left to experienced mechanics with the right tools plus you will need a wheel alignment if you use any lift.

I ordered these before Christmas and needed them installed in a certain time frame. I was worried that because of the overwhelming amount of packages and covid that it would take a long time to receive them.

I bought theses shocks to replace the ones on my 2016 RAM 1500 that went bad after only ~35k miles. The old ones slowly got soft and made the ride very squirrelly over bumps and turns, these brought back a lot of the controllability and firmness back (still need to replace the front struts – that should help even more).

I think they are probably just as “firm” as new OEM shocks would be, but they definitely feel better. It’s hard to explain, they just seem to be more composed over big bumps and uneven payement. For the price, I think they are great all around shocks.

They’re a bit of a pain to install, but that’s more of a problem with the truck’s design (you basically need to chop a wrench down to about 3” to hold the back driver-side top bolt to loosen the front).

I tow a travel trailer and needed to stiffen the ride a little. These shocks helped with bouncing and squat. I measured before and after how much my truck squatted when hooked up to the trailer and it was noticeably better than my prior shocks.

I know that is not the purpose of the shocks but still an unexpected benefit.

The quality ride is huge difference. Installed these on my 04 Sierra 1500 2WD with a rough country 4. 5 spindle lift. Shock length is perfect and still have plenty of extension left!. would recommend to anyone as an upgrade.

My Silverado rides alot smoother since installing the Bilstein shocks on it.

Easy installation; did take a little more height to get installed through the control arm and spring due to the longer length, but the ride is a lot smoother in the truck.

I believe that the shocks are a great addition to my 2020 2500HD after adding a leveling kit. I rated them 3 stars because I was disappointed in the overall length. Not knowing the length of my factory shocks, I just assumed that these Bilsteins would be longer, to accommodate the leveling kit.

They were not, so really nothing gained, just a new shock to replace the factory shocks.

These are about the best shocks I’ve ever used. On my 2017 Silverado 2500 HD the heavy front end of the Duramax, I had to pick it up with a leveling kit. That way the front end didn’t hang so low. After the lift, the oem shocks were not up for the task, that when Summit recommended these Bilstien 5100’s.

2012 GMC Sierra 2500hd.

I purchased my monroe shocks 5 yrs. ago. It came time for new shocks and O’REILLYS was was my choice , without a receipt your staff was able to look my info up on line. They treated me very well. Keep up the great work.

Went to do brakes on wife’s van and was surprised to see 1 rear shock covered in oil after only 18 months. Vehicle driven gently. No compression or damping once off vehicle. I admit I went with the cheapest available and in this case I got what I paid for.

Save your money and time and get something else.

I bought these Monroe gas shocks because they were rated original equipment or greater. They were simple to install and preform as expected

Started by pulling off the stock back junk shocks on my 2020GMC Sierra crew 4×4 slt and putting on a set of 5100. The 5100 for my truck are currently not available yet so these shocks are a more all purpose replacement that fit great and still outperformed the stock shock by far!!.

The correct shock for the truck almost ready to hit the market according to Bilstein so it should be a even better experience!. To make a long story short scrap those stock shocks by Rancho and AC Delco!.

These are high quality shocks from a reputable company. I replaced the OE shocks on my 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6. 0L pickup (73K miles) with these and have noticed a dramatic improvement! I received the front shocks first (not sure why they ship separately) and replaced them right away.

I received the rear shocks 2 days later and installed them the next day. I will say I noticed a much bigger difference with replacing the front shocks than I did with the rears. Overall, worth the money.

Replaced the rear shocks on a Chevy Z71 truck because the manufacturer shock were too bouncy. These are great and will prevent porpoising when towing my RV.

I had one issue installing these in a 2007 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner. The rubber built-in washers on the bottom did not quite fit between the lower bracket on the truck rear axle. I tried bending out the bracket with pliers and worked harder than I should have trying to kick the shocks to squeeze them into the bracket and line them up.

In the end, I shaved off some of the rubber with a serrated knife. After that they were still tight in the bracket but it was possible to line them up with the hole and get the bolt in. The ride quality on these is fantastic.

My truck had about 200,000 miles with the original shocks to obviously anything new would be an improvement. These shocks are much “softer” than stock. My truck also had the recall to add another leaf to the back, so the rear springs are quite stiff.

These shocks make for a good combo. I think these are likely the best non-lifted shocks you can get for a Tacoma.

I got these to replace the OEM’s on my 2018 JK Willy’s Wheeler 2 door. Quality of shocks is excellent. Installation was no problem- I’ve never replaced rear shocks on anything, and from getting out the tools to putting them away, total job was about 45 minutes.

No special tools needed; just a socket set and some blue thread lock- that’s IT. Ride is a bit stiffer than the OEM’s were, but that is fine with me. Overall, I recommend these rear shocks.

No Complaints about fit, price or quality. The only issue that I had with this order was with one of the front shocks, when it had arrived the washers, bushings and nut was not in the package. I went ahead and ordered the parts kit from Summit Racing for about $14.

I have a 1997 F350 Dually and previously purchased good gas shocks from you but they didnt control the suspension like they should. Even though they were new shocks, I was tired of being in a bucking bronco all the time.

The Bilstein 4600s are the best of the best. Steering wheel no longer vibrates up and down and the rear settles back down after going over railroad tracks!.

I bought these for my 95 F150 XL 8 ft bed. I had have decent KYB Gas A Just mono-tube shocks in the front. These are a far and away better product than KYB. If you are looking to buy mono-tube shocks for your truck buy these.

If you don’t have the money, just save up and buy them later. You won’t regret it. They are firmer shocks, but in a good way. They soak up bumps and pot holes very well. The Minute Masters.

I’ve been riding on these for a few thousand miles now and I have been enjoying them. If you’re looking to soften up the ride a little bit and you’re not an extreme off roader like me, I would take a look at these.

There are 9 settings. The 9th setting is the stiffest and will feel very close to stock ride firmness. (slightly softer) I wouldn’t really recommend going too low on the settings because it starts to feel very washy.

I like to set mine at 5-9. Im currently at a 7 and it provides a nice ride. I would say if you are a big off roader, you will probably want to spring for a pricier high quality set up, but for my needs these work great.

I’m on the road 95%-99% of the time.

This quick lift is perfect for those that aren’t looking for anything super aggressive but want to install a larger wheel and tire combination and improve the off road ride and capabilities. The on road performance is very good as well, particularly if you like a bit firmer ride and less body roll while cornering.

The install takes about 3 to 4 hours and the alignment has to be corrected after of course. The only issue that I had and it seems from other reviews this is very common, the packaging on the front strut assemblies is inadequate and tears open easily, so somewhere along the way during shipping the mounting hardware for one side was lost.

So make sure you check for the hardware before you start the install or you may find yourself heading to the hardware store right in the middle of the install. Overall I am very happy with the the Rancho Quick lift struts and shock setup.

The Good: I do love the way the shocks respond to the bumpy roads as it is much smoother ride in my tundra, a lot better than the ones installed by manufacturer. The Bad: I bought these exact same shocks for my tundra about 3 years ago.

I noticed that the back right one was missing the metal around the shock absorber. I have no idea what happened or when it happened. Poorly made or cheap metal. I recently purchased another same exact pair and hopefully this will not happen again.

Will update with review if it does. This is why it only gets 3 stars.

The best way to describe the shock’s performance is that they significantly enhance handling and body control. No more trying to throw me out of the vehicle when crossing speed bumps diagonally. Highway potholes and bridge crossings are smoothed out admirably.

I would have given 5 Stars, but the shock bushings do not fit the shock tower openings anywhere close to the stock ones. You can’t use stock bushings because they don’t fit the upper shock’s stud diameter.

Regardless, properly torqued, I haven’t heard any knocking using the supplied bushings. Would still highly recommend, as the shock’s finish looks durable and the ride quality is worthy of the investment.

Installed four Bilstein 5100’s on a 2014 F350. They ride great on the road, much improved rebound. However the ride quality when towing is horrible. I pull a 6’X12′ dump trailer (4000lb empty). On the OEM shocks the trailer would be level and the truck rode like a Cadillac.

With the Bilstein’s the tongue is about 1″ lower than the back of the trailer and you feel every bump in the road. I’m surprised because the leaf springs are what carry the weight, but the ride went from good to bad and the only change is the shocks.

In summary if you have a Superduty and don’t tow these are a good choice. If you tow consider something else.

Although I was not sure whether I needed the shocks before purchase, the existing shocks appeared to be quite worn. I also purchased these shocks because I recently purchased the Bilstein steering damper of the same model.

After removing the old shocks, I found one was bad in the rear and one was bad in the front. The installation is pretty straight forward. Remove the existing nuts/bolts and replace and/or use the hardware if supplied.

On the rears, connect the top first because it’s a fixed point on the chassis and then I used a Phillips screwdriver to align the bottom hole and inserted the bolt. On the fronts, the tops were finger tightened and then I used a jack to compress the shock to get it into place.

You’ll have to pull the shock cover into position. On the drive, the ride was quite smooth; firm but not harsh. On the dirt road, the ride was composed. All the shocks work in concert to make for a smooth and controlled ride.

They also make taking curves, at speed, controlled and uneventful. The same can be said for trailering. A good step up from the Ranchos that I replaced. 2009 Ford F250 Super Duty Cabelas.

These adjustable shocks are exactly as advertised. I installed these on a 2018 RAM 1500 Laramie. The installation was breeze. I reused the stock strut coil. The truck is now perfectly level and the ride improvement is quite noticeable.

Much of the stock body roll is gone. The firmness really improved steering ease. I never expected to be this pleased with a shock upgrade but would very highly recommend this one. Now onto the rear.

This is a well built, high quality shock that will give your truck a great ride on and off road. These shock replaced the stock shocks, at 100K miles, so any new shock would have been an improvement.

But the Eibach Pro Truck Sport shocks took the handling to a whole new level. On the street you feel connected to the road, without being overly harsh. Off road (fire roads mostly) the bumps are soaked up and bounce is minimal.

They are leveling kit compatible up to 2″ lift (my next project) and come with an awesome warranty too.

These do not fit a 1960-1962 Chevy C-10 with rear coil spring suspension. They are about 8 inches too short. I spoke with Eibach and they have in their computer that the shocks will work on a 1960-1970.

60-62 uses a longer shock. 1963 and up switched to a leaf spring rear and shorter shock.

Bought a set of these after hearing about them on a forum for the rear of my 1996 f350 4×4 crew cab longbed with a front reverse shackle kit to help the rough bucking feel after a bump. I was running bilstein 5125 on the back but were a softer compression/rebound.

With these stiffer shocks on the rear it eliminated the bucking feeling while driving and towing my boat. Only modification i had to do since these come with heavy duty heim joints is I had to press the upper joint out and install the factory rubber one my truck had.

Other than that everything bolted right up. I have added 2″ in the rear from stock so total I have a 6″ of lift in the rear off of the bottom of my stock leaf springs.

I was looking for a remote shock that wouldn’t break the bank. Bilstein 7100 has great quality with a wide range of valving options. This shock is fully rebuildable and re-valveable at a great price.

I Ordered This To Replace My Wife’s Rancho Shock In Her Rancho Lifted Hummer H3T. I Must Say I Love The Fact That The 7100 Series Have The Option Of Choosing Valving, I Am Already Running A Set Of 7100’s Series With A softer Valving On My H3, So I Decide To Go With A Stiffer One For The Truck.

Both Shocks Make The Ideal Pair, It Makes Ride So Much Better.

I would have never imagined the difference these struts makes compared to stock. I always felt the suspensions are the weak point (along with the headlights) of the F150. After upgrading the rear with the Bilstein 5100, which was a breeze and a dramatic change in the car’s handling, I decided to upgrade the front to get rid of vibrations and stiff bump handlings.

Installation took about 3 hours for each side (would take me 2 hours now that I know how to do it). Difference is night and day. The ride feels very smooth, dampened, controlled. I feel like I’m driving a high end sedan.

They also keep the car very straight on curves. I should have done it a long time ago. One note: they don’t come with bump stops, and when I removed the factory struts, to my surprise one bump stop was missing and the other was much smaller than what stock bump stops look like (2018 certified pre-owned F150 3.

5 Ecoboost with factory struts still on). If you can, make sure you have them installed by removing your front wheels and checking inside the little plastic protection at the top of the strut inside the spring.

Highly recommend them, to me this purchase is a no brainer along with the rear ones.

My new F150 is a great truck, the only disappointment was the rebound over a small bump (speed bump). It would bounce 3 times which was too mushy. I read some reviews on the Bilstein 5100 shocks and ordered them from American Trucks.

Once I installed them I took the truck for a spin. It was as good as I had hoped;!very controlled but not harsh over bumps. Do this modification!.

After installing the Bilstein 5100s in the rear of my truck I went ahead and bought these to level my truck. My truck had a 3″ rake from the factory and I used these on the second from the top option to give my truck 1″ of rake.

Like the rears, the ride is much more planted and stiff; bumps don’t sway my truck and I love the almost perfect level look. Don’t have a single complaint.

I bought a front & rear set for my JK that still had the factory shocks at 100k miles. Difference was night & day. My brother liked them so much, he bought front & rears for his JKU. I really like that the bushings & sleeves came pre-installed.

That saved some time during the install.

Shipping was faster than expected by 2 days! These Skyjacker Black Max look very slick on my 1990 Ford Bronco. The work very well too and were easy to install with a little pre-planning! After I figured out how to put the rubber grommet and the roll pin in using a rubber mallet and bench vise, they all went in very smoothly.

On my Bronco, I didn’t need the roll pin for the upper bolt because the bolt/stud on the frame was made to fit snugly in the grommet of the shock without a roll pin. There were no instructions in the box but it was easy to figure out.

I mounted my shocks with the boot up to help keep any water, mud, or dirt off the piston. The best thing about these shocks is they don’t automatically push out like gas filled shocks and can be pulled in or out easily to get the right length for installation.

I have Hydro7000s on the front and the back, stock height. I like them. Feel good and the JK was ready for new shocks after 10 years as the factory shocks were rotted to death. When you get these shocks, there are no instructions.

The bushings are urethane and thats an advantage over rubber in my opinion and its absolutely critical when you try and install the top bar mount. There is one way to do this and not waste hours. Install the top bushing.

Rub a little lubricant inside. Grab a 2×8 scrap and a long phillips screwdriver. Take the u-end of the top T bar and position it inside the top bushing. It wont tear because its urethane. Slip the screw driver shaft through the closed end.

Prop the shock on the 2×8 and push the shaft through the bushing. If you cant get leverage move the shock to the floor and push. Push hard and it will pop in. Dont waste your time trying to slide the bar and bushing in at the same time.

Of course it would be much easier if Skyjacker installed the top bushing and bar. What a minute and a 1/2 at the factory.

Really impressed. Made to match vehicle. Removed KYB Gas shocks from my 2500 Silverado. (Felt like riding on a bouncy ball. ) Installed SkyJacker MAX on all 4. wow. I hit a dip in the road and it absorbed the shock, didn’t cushion it.

Truck doesn’t wander about the lane like before, and when the wind is blowing if feels like your behind a wall not an umbrella. Truck handles terrain like a Baja truck and doesn’t bounce. (Ever drop a quality RC car/truck from a foot high with oil filled shocks onto the table?), same thing squats and rebounds without wheel hop! Went to SkyJacker website to find vehicle spec.

model. Then ordered here (Best Price!) The valving inside the shocks are per vehicle and not all pressurized per length. Pay the extra five to ten bucks per wheel and drive what you wish you’d have gotten!.
