20 Best Trucks For Moving (2022 Updated)

It’s a very useful hand truck. It’s made in the USA and I appreciate the chance to not support the CCP. The truck requires some assembly and the instructions could use some work. There are some very unclear sections about pins that keep the axel from rolling.

It would also help if those same pins fit in their holes. I had to drill out the holes to get the pins to fit. Once I had it together, the hand truck functions extremely well. It seamlessly slides between cart and truck modes, caries and balances weight well, and is light enough to be easy to handle.

Yet it’s not so flimsy that one worries about the load.

Great Product with years of quality behind it. I’ve been using these for years for my company but this one I bought for myself for an upcoming move. Wheels allow for easy moving and maneuverability, I use it as a cart more than I use it as a dolly/hand truck.

Durable, these can take a bit of a beating.

The packaging is horrible. There is no internal packaging to keep the components from rubbing and banging together during shipment. Despite arriving new, once assembled it looks like it’s been used for several years.

Assembly itself was an evolution. The included bolts are too short and the associated nuts have the wrong thread count (stripping the part of the bolt that shows). Yes, I used the correct bolts in the right holes with the right screws.

It also takes 5 hands to align the 4 holes across the 3 components on 2 ends. Once assembled the cart works as it should. It just looks used.

I purchased this hand truck approx. 2 years ago. It is a model #55HA22 and is rated for 300#’s. I occasionally use it to take light bins of recycle cans etc. to the curb. Once a month to move 2 cases of soda from the garage to the patio.

I noticed the last couple of trips that one wheel was wobbling and today it broke while moving a 50# bag of cement. This item came with 7″ plastic wheels with a 1/2″ axle. I went to [@] to get a replacement wheel and the only wheels available were in the lawn mower section and were only rated for 50#’s.

I reviewed the same model hand truck as mine, and approx. the same price (not on sale), and it had at least 8″ wheels and a 5/8″ axle of much sturdier construction. I bought the inferior 7″ wheel (50# rating) as I only use my hand truck for light loads and I need the hand truck for a project this weekend.

My question is: Was Harper producing a lesser quality (7″ wheels and 1/2″ axle) for [@] and are now producing the same model and price range with larger and higher rated wheels due to failure of the 7″ wheels? If so, does [@] or [@] intend to remedy purchasers of the inferior quality hand truck?.

Great light weight unit and very compact for general household and garden tasks. Used it to move concrete retaining wall blocks with ease as well. Good value for money.

Not bad for the price. Would have liked it to have had metal wheels but I guess you get what you pay for. But it’s not bad at all.

This was easy to assemble and I am pleased overall with this. We are not planning to use this only to move my son and daughter in and out of dorms. If you plan to use this a lot I would get a metal dolly/cart that adjusts from dolly to cart easier.

This one uses pins to hold it in the dolly/cart position. I would want something beefier if moving a complete household of belongings. Overall, pleased with the product.

The hand truck arrived quickly and the box was in good shape. Overall, the materials from which it was constructed seemed of sufficient quality to do the job promised. And the price makes it look like a great buy.

Sadly, that is the best I can say about this item. I bought it in May to replace an older, air-filled-tire hand truck I’d had for years that was borrowed and never returned. Due to a disability, I need such an item to truck groceries and whatnot from my Car to my distant 3rd floor apartment.

Assembling instructions were not helpful and some of the bolt, screw, nut and washer placements were so tight, it was not possible to tighten them properly without some sort of specialized wrenches or whatnots that I didn’t have.

And tightening them with fingers doesn’t work either. So, the first time I used my “assembled” hand truck (in the down flat position), I left a trail of screws, bolts, washers and nuts all the way down to my car.

I managed to get everything upstairs, and retrieved all the lost bits I could find, but did not find them all, and have not used the truck since. Disgusted, I left it sitting in a corner of the back room, where it will stay exiled until I drag it to the dumpster.

Lesson learned: you get what you pay for. I cannot recommend this hand truck. Better idea: buy one that does not need assembly. And never let your friends borrow the great hand truck you do eventually buy.

First the instructions were in French and they left out a critical function. How to lower handle to horizontal position in order to collapse and store. I finally got answer thru a different vendor on line.

Buyer beware when you step on bar to collapse handle IT IS SO SNAPPY I nearly fell into the unit as it was folding. It does tell you where to place the 2 rotating wheels vs the 2 stationery ones. They have different footprint.

I opted for bigger stronger larger metal base for back wheels. I believe this was correct choice. I agree it is a shame that all 4 wheels are not rotational. Package was double cardboard boxed so no damage.

Found better price after receipt and partial assembly so I’m keeping it. It’s small but should make hauling big stuff easier than my MagCart collapsible hand truck. At 16 lbs I should be able to put in bed of my Ranger pick um up truck for several more years.

Easy to assemble the wheels. But the spring for the relase was rolling around in the box. There were no instructions as to where this spring went. Fortunately i was able to figure out and install it on the steel rood that releases the folding handle.

I needed a hand truck to move my daughter into her apartment on the fourth floor when she went to college. This hand truck made slight work of it. I am a 5’ 10” female and the height of this hand truck was perfect.

I looked around online at a lot of hand trucks and did not want one of those little rolling carts/hand trucks where the handles were between 36” to 46” and cost around the same. I moved her in by myself and had to make several trips to the parking garage because she took everything but the kitchen sink.

I didn’t have really heavy objects such as appliances but mainly plastic storage bins which I moved in 4 at a time. They probably weighed about 20-25 lbs. each. I have no doubt that this hand truck can handle heavy objects like furniture/appliances.

The pneumatic rubber wheels allowed me to take a shortcut into the building from the parking garage using the stairs (only about 4 steps) so that I didn’t have to wait behind everyone else to use the ramp.

It was very crowded since it was the designated “move-in day”. I had the best hand truck and everyone (students, moms, and mostly dads) was checking it out. I’m sure wishing they were using it. Like I said, it made slight work of moving her things.

This hand truck is of solid construction and a BEAST! It’s great to have available around the house. I wish I would have had it many years ago for a variety of heavy objects I’ve had to strain to move by hand (sometimes with the help of others).

If you can afford it, definitely get this and not some puny hand truck. This is the real deal. I am sure my brothers will be wanting to borrow it or buy one of there own!.

This usually lives tucked up under the deck but when I need a hand hauling some weight up on down the yard or upstairs (have a LOT of stairs and hill – live on a 18% grade) it’s worth it’s weight in gold! I cut a piece of plywood with notches for the handles just to keep it from sliding around and moved 32 bags of concrete from the driveway to the bottom of my sloped lot last summer.

Swap the plywood for an old milk crate and did the same with 3 ton of rock, a palate of bricks (just a dozen or so at a time) a dozen 6×6 8’ landscape Timbers and dozens of bags of manure and soils. The tires are great for out doors and rough terrain.

Hose it off and head upstairs with cabinets and bookcases. Being in my 70’s and working alone this is sturdy and rugged enough to tackle just about anything you could throw at it. I was even able to use it with a block & tackle and some leverage to lower a 38” boulder down the slope using the handle as a 3rd point of contact.

Only a bunch of paint lost but it held up. GET THIS.

I went in needing a two wheel hand truck. The model I wanted it was gone. I looked at this one being a bit smaller I didn’t think I wanted it. I decided I just needed it and to not wait got home did my moving projects and it handled everything making it quite easy, I will say that while deciding I did look at a few of the same.

first one the handle at the weld had a small piece of welding wire. having sold welding equipment for 30 years I though poor finish and cold weld. I went back got a second on the wheels seemed a bit cambered in.

I decided to roll that one back before check out finding one that I felt was good. I guess I say that not because I expect perfection it is a discount two wheeler but I would recommend a good inspection to avoid future frustrations.

I recommend this it is very well balanced and aside from the above statement it seems of good quality and certainly worth the price.

I am extremely pleased with this hand truck. I often purchase large bags of pet food that need to be transported from the car, down my walkway, and into my storage closet. This is a high quality Dolly with large, sturdy wheels making it effortless to navigate.

I was amazed how easy it was to turn it 360 degrees. This is an excellent feature if you need to make a sharp turn or when you’re maneuvering the Dolly in tight spaces. It has comfortable ergonomic handles and comes with bungee cords to strap items in place.

This trolley was purchased to assist me in moving my tools and other equipment to and from work. This is what I chose because it claims it’s perfect for going up and down stairs. It’s light and easy to carry/push, and it folds up neatly for easy storage.

It’s the perfect size for my van. The stair ascending feature is quite useful. A regular trolley gives you a jolt or requires you to painstakingly lower it down the steps; this one is considerably easier.

Especially when you’re coming upstairs. The three wheels on each side are really useful. It makes transporting items a lot easier!.

The cart was easy to assemble. Light weight to manage. The castors were a little smaller than expected.

Quality of machining and holes alignment is not perfect. Overall still excellent for the price. Worthwhile purchase.

Great tool for moving drywall and plywood in the worksite. Rolls super smooth and is easy to maneuver. If you work with drywall or plywood regularly this cart is a must have.

I purchased this a couple of years ago in advance of moving out of my office. It sat in the office awaiting moving day for a matter of weeks. When I went to use it the first time, the tires had deflated.

I purchased a bicycle pump to keep around for when the tires deflated the next time. Three years hence, the steel & aluminum frame is in great shape. The tires, though, no longer hold air. The replacement tires are expensive and I have no reason to believe that they are likely to be any improvement upon the factory-installed tires.

I bought this cart because I needed a two way cart for a LONG time. I seen this cart on ebay for $129. 00 and was thrilled when I saw it at Sam’s for a lot less. I bought it even though some of the reviews were stating it was cheap and the wheels were breaking easily.

I can tell you I must have got a good one because I push this through stones and up ramps and down everything in booth the two way and upright mode and it works. It pushes real easily with the pneumatic tires which are 10 inch, I had a cart for a long time that was just an upright and it had smaller pneumatic tires and pushed a lot harder even going up steps, so this cart is a dream.

When handling heavy loads the wheels do not come off the hubs, which are steel and not plastic. It is strong and durrable and made in the USA! The caster wheels are connected by a bolt through the hub, They are not pressed in so they will be real easy to replace even if they do break.

I have used this cart a lot already and everytime I am glad I bought it. It is cheaper than having an extra employee to just move equipment in and out of a facility. The only negative I would give it is the tires leave off an odor, kind of like a cross between new tires and gas, I am still waiting for that to go away, but it is, finally.

Other than that I have absolutley no complaints a cart like this will cost a lot more. If you need a two way cart get this one, you won’t be disappointed.

Hand truck is considerably cheaper than competitors. Quality is average. Have had to return two for defective tires/wheels. A run flat tire would be a much better option. I find it hard to believe that this hand truck could handle 900 lb.

Axel has bent under much less of a load, but if you treat it within reasonable limits, it can be quite effective for transporting merchandise.

The best thing about this hand truck is the hard rubber tires. I don’t have to inflate tires anymore! It is a good solid and well made truck. Made in USA. I have a heavy-duty one so this will work best for my lighter loads.

Doesn’t have a strap, so some things will need that. But it’s deep enough and has already done what I got it for-3 times! (I moved plants). As usual, Walmart vomes through with what I need at a reasonable price!.

It’s a solid and very good hand truck. Be aware that the leverage afforded by the back/handle will not be sufficient for carrying heavier loads on the tongue unless the weight is very close to the back.

In my case, I need to transport multiple 50# bags of livestock feed. The drop-down tongue is too narrow for bags, but the cart is unwieldy if the bags are placed long-ways. For lighter loads, the tongue will work fine.

I ended up stacking 2 bags together on end with the tongue down. Problem is that I could carry that #100 on a cheaper truck. And given the load rating that I bought this for, I expected to be able to carry 4 bags and still control the cart.

I’ll end up making a simple cross-ways platform from plywood. Should be able to get 3 and may be able to truck 4 with that mod.

This to me is the perfect Folding Platform Truck, I purchased 3 other ones before. The wheel have double bearings t prevent a side motion and breaking a wheel and dumping my load. Most new Folding Platform trucks have one narrow single bearing with plastic centering it.

The Truck is very light but, the plastic body doesn’t dent like the common thin metal or Aluminum Folding Platform Trucks. The Plastic top is not real slippery. The plastic prevents shipping damage and the wheel hardware is 8mm and quality.

My only complaint is the handle could be higher.

I’ve been using these dollys/hand-trucks for 15+ years @ work. Now I bought my own. These are much lighter than the all-metal ones. Light enuff for a woman to use. Mine came in grey not blue. Shipping costed 33% more than the item/(FedEx) no choice of shipper.

It Is easy to assemble you only need to put on the wheels. It folds easy once you figure out that you just have to push down on the back bar. It wheeled nicely and made it so much easier to move things from point A to point B.

I only wish the instructions told you to make sure to put the swivel wheels on the front and the non swivel wheels on the back and I wish it also explained how you have to push down on the back bar to be able to fold it.

Best hand truck I’ve ever used! No worries about flat tires, and taller than most making it more comfortable to use. Wide base makes it easier to accommodate a wider variety of items you might be moving around.

Product might be ok except that parts were missing from the box. The parts to attach the wheels were missing from the box so we had to buy the parts ourselves to finish. Other than that, the wheels look durable and overall it does look strong.

But it is nylon (not metal) and the missing parts make me mad. Pros: Strong wheelsCons: Missing parts.

Very solid and can handle a lot of weight. I bought these to haul concrete blocks and was impressed when hauling 300-350 lb blocks without issue I bought several other hand trucks rated at 600lbs from other stores, but they fell apart and/or bent hauling 150lb blocks.

These 1000 lb rated hand trucks stand up to heavy loads.

We bought this cart less than 24hr ago. Put it together, and due to all the positive reviews preceded to cover it in stickers because racecar. (the stickers are probably worth more than the cart tbh) All seems well.

Fast forward to this morning when we used it to load some bins into a convention. Total weight would’ve been between 180-200lbs. Almost instantly trouble starts when we reach the first transition from concrete outside to the tiled floor of the lobby.

The wheels couldn’t make it over the trim peice and the entire frame/deck of the cart buckled and bent. Also the folding mechanism isnt able to work any more. the plastic insert fell out and is now blocking the bar.

The sheet metal ‘brace’ with the words on it that is between the 2 vertical bits of the handle. bends if you breathe on it. You can literally bend the deck of the cart if you put any significant force on the handle.

I would say. at most 100lbs tops I wouldn’t go any higher.

Rolls great!! We used it to roll 2 five gallon thermoses full of liquid about four outdoor blocks, from the parking lot to the place we were setting up in an outdoor mall. We used bungee cords to secure them and the cart was just right except for the handle being so low.

The instructions had us install the turning wheels in a way where it is easier to push, but we are too tall (5’4) for it. Next time we do this event will switch the wheels to make it a pull cart. Since we had many volunteers using it, it was not used gently and there are some miner dents on it that wont affect future use for a while but are noticeable.

It is also quite loud on most of the surfaces we used it on, but it was smooth. It folds so easily, was sturdy for heavy things and is easy to assemble and store. I loved that once we got to our tent, I could fold it and hide it under a table.

I only disliked the assembly because they didn’t tell me that I would be doing it and what I needed to do it. It needed to say on the description about the cart that assembly was required and that you would need a 12 mm flat wrench to put on the wheels.

I would have ordered a 12 mm flat wrench at the same time if I had known. It wasn’t at all difficult if you had the wrench, but all the flat wrenches we had were in inches. If it weren’t for my neighbor having the 12 mm wrench that I needed, I would not have been able to use it today after I had everything out and ready to go.

The bolts go on very easily and it is great for what I use it for. I am 75 and work in the garden but must sit down to do it. It has been hard to have to move a very low stool each time I can’t reach the next area.

Using the utility cart, I was even able to roll it slightly uphill over grass while sitting on it pulling with my feet to the next area which was a great help. It appears to be just what I have wanted for years and should provide me an excellent way to pull weeds and cut off the dead leaves from the previous winter.

The swivel wheels on the front of the cart are great for moving it around. In trying to bump it up forward over a slight raise in the sidewalk, it did appear that I was going to lose my load of a garbage bag full of weeds.

However, by turning it around, I was able to slightly lift the rear wheels up over the bump and proceed from there. I did have about a two quart plastic bucket full of tools that made the bucket top heavy and it would fall over when I would try to get over the sidewalk.

I had to carry that separately. But I am delighted with the cart today and if only having the top heavy bucket not want to ride on the cushions that were on the cart without falling over, I won’t complain.

I was looking for a collapsible dolly like the Franklin 150 lb. hand truck that folds down flat and compact. I only need to transport a 50 lb. telescope mirror box. The sales clerk told me this hand truck was marked down in price because the previous owner ended up needing something with more carrying weight.

I took a chance and bought this dolly knowing the cashier said it only has a ‘5 day return day. ‘ I bought it on Monday, August 8th, but didn’t use it until Friday, August 12th. While wheeling the telescope mirror box to my car, the left wheel folded in, almost dumping my 12″ mirror on the pavement.

The same thing happened Saturday night in the mountains when I was transporting the mirror box to the spot I wanted to set up my telescope. After stargazing at 1:00 a. m. , I tried loading it on the hand truck, but the left wheel collapsed again, twice.

I ended up picking it up, going up hill, and loading it back into my car. I did the same thing when I got home, lifted it out of the car and storing it inside my apartment. In further examination last Sunday afternoon, I noticed the plastic stop was broken, so the left wheel will not lock, rendering this dolly useless.

By Monday, August 15th, that was the 8th day from the 5 day return date. (Too bad Harbor Freight isn’t like Costco, where you can bring it back, no questions asked. ) I’m now the owner of a hand truck that is worthless.

Another flaw with this truck is that there is no bowed inward structure to hold a round object in place. A bungee cord or some type of holding strap should be purchased along with this hand truck. I wish I could return it, and buy a new one off the floor, as I’m willing to try again, knowing its weak points.

There are no small hand trucks like this at other stores, unless I go online. I don’t know if anyone will read this since it is negative, I did NOT want to give you one star, but was forced to in order to submit this feedback.

I always love going to Harbor Freight and so do my friends, it’s sort of like a ‘Disneyland’ for male shoppers. Be careful in the future selling this hand truck to your customers, try to find another vender in China who manufactures a better one.

Just bought this today at an absolutely fabulous price ($23. 99) locally. I was looking for a light, portable, hand-truck dolly that could handle my ~50 lbs apartment-size washer so I could bring it on vacation.

I need to get it down (and back up again) from my 3rd floor walkup and I’m a middle aged woman who isn’t really very fit. I started shopping for these online today, was resigned to maybe spending $50, actually bought one for $40, then found this and canceled my online order from a competitor.

There’s no doubt that this will do a great job. Plus, I can use it in my office for moving the 5 gallon water jugs, so it’s become a legitimate business expense. I didn’t check “quality” or “durability” because it does seem a bit light-duty and I haven’t used it yet.

I don’t plan on using it for anything over about 75 lbs at the most. I concur with the reviewer who is skeptical of the 150 lbs claim, but perhaps. Anyway, seems like a great value and I’m thrilled. If it’s durable I’m sure I’ll use it for many years.

Bought this to move a 50lb, 2200w portable generator into place when needed during blackouts. Generator fits perfectly. Because of the design of the plate, you only need to tip the generator forward a little to slide the plate all the way under.

The feet then lock the generator in place. The unit opens and closes easily. Feels very solid. The wheels and plate fold together, not one or the other. With the generator, the load pulls forward because the folding wheels have to set behind the plate to fold.

Therefore the weight does not balance until the handle is lowered way down. Just a give and take to have the folding feature with decent size tires. A taller load will probably work fine in this respect.

DONT BUY THIS P. O. S. !!!!!! I wasted $240 on this 2 months ago. It is supposed to be heavy duty, but it most certainly is NOT! I deliver auto parts daily, and I put about 200-250 lbs on it at a time.

it says 1000 lbs which is B. S. After just 2 months the thing is twisted out of shape, the welds are breaking, the handle grips slip off and the latch doesn’t hold and keeps falling off. Now the latch is stripped out so I can’t use it at all.

A total waste of money that I don’t have to waste!!!!.

I recently had 2 moving jobs. The versatility of this hand truck made the job much easier. I utilize d all 4 positions of the dolly helping to move items safely and efficiently. Changing to the various positions was simple.

The 4 detailed options work excellently, tested weights and it exceeded what is printed at the 1,000lb cap. I highly recommend this product, superior brand for warehouse operations. I will purchase more in the near future as business picks up.

Pros: lightweight. Basically sturdy. Decent height. CHEAP. Cons: terrible tires, rigid and they offgas a stink. Too large diameter making the cart lean forward, harder to tip back and easily dumping your load.

Too small nose plate, and no bevel so it won’t scoop under anything. Curved back and skinny frame don’t give your load much support. Between that and the small nose plate you better angle your tip just right or your load dumps.

I was born with a deformity where both of my hands were functioning mini diesel trucks. Using them to move heavy items was always a pain, but now I have this incredible hand truck to help and its like the brother I’ve never had.

I purchased this to move large items around the house and to mount my boat motor to while it was not on the boat. It is heavy duty, weighs a little over 30 lbs and the tires are already inflated as well as installed.

The unit is complete and I will be using it to move a freezer in a couple weeks. It was delivered to my door by a pleasant masked man. Great service, great tool for now and the future, no more borrowing or renting.

This is a great little dolly! Sturdy frame and rolls well even on carpeted surfaces. I wish it had a solid platform to move smaller items/boxes and maybe an attachable rope to pull it but I knew what I was getting so I can’t lower my rating for the design I wish it had.

I wanted to place a heavy lateral file cabinet on this product to protect from possible water damage. I spray painted the dolly and padding black. It looks great, is moveable and protects the floor and furniture.

I purchased a total of 6 of these to use under my stairs closet. My seasonal ac unit, bags of snow melt, Christmas decorations and seasonal clothing all makes it easier for me to access by rolling each item in and out.

Joy – Rapture. so much easier on my back and very little bending and pushing. Also keeping all mentioned items off the ground to prevent moisture if any. Oh and GREAT PRICE @ 14. 97.

Got this cart on a sale + a 15% coupon – Its light, rolls evenly and supports plenty of weight. I bought this for a company move from one suite to another. My job is to move the data servers and workstations.

I assembled the cart, which is only to attach the included wheels and it was ready to go. I feels great – the folding arm snaps firmly into place and stays tight. The step-bar release has plenty of spring pressure to hold it all firm.

The wheels are just fine. Mine are made of rubber, which was a great bonus. I weigh a little over 210lb and I can stand on it and it doesn’t flex one bit. I even lightly bounced on it and I felt no flex at all.

The blue bumper guard around the edge is a bonus (feels kinda like a c-channel rubber band). It’s easily removed so just watch that part of you plan on hitting the walls with it! If you really were worried about the wheels, they could easily be upgraded.

They’re held in with 4 supplied bolts (16 total). Overall – GREAT CART!.

All the bolts that hold on the wheels were significantly rusted right out of the package along with the staples on the cardboard box it came in so watch out for that tell tale sign of what is inside when purchasing.

I chose to clean up the bolts with a wire brush wheel on my drill press before assembly so that took a bunch of time. I highly doubt you will maneuver a 330 pound load around with the handle. I loaded my 100 lb generator on the cart and I felt uneasy pushing it around on concrete by the cart’s collapsible handle.

I was worried the handle would bend or break. The cart should be good for lighter duty work though. All around for the price I paid it was an alright buy and meets my expectation but no more. A cheap furniture dollie with a plywood top would do the same job.

If you already have one of those you can just buy a $10 handle for it from HF.

I bought this mainly to offload pallets of 5 gallon buckets of glue. Considering the dimensions of 24×36, I figured I could carry 12 buckets of glue 2 across, 3 along the length, stacked two high. Using a regular dolly, I can only move 3 at a time.

Thirty-six buckets on a pallet, that’s 12 trips. I didn’t take into account the handle and mounting hardware. This takes up abut 4 ½ to 5 inches of space, leaving the two buckets up front to hang over the edge.

This is fine when in motion, but when you stop, inertia kicks in and they fall. This is reduces my load to 8 buckets, and total trips to 5, four fully loaded and one, half loaded. One last note, I wish they had installed some sort of nut where the casters are mounted.

The threads are cut into the sheet metal and not paying attention, i stripped the threads to one hole.

There is no question that this is a great hand truck and value. It is very versatile. But there is room for improvement. I would like for it to have modular add on features of an Appliance Dolly since it is almost there.

Missing are securing straps which one can easily add and stair climbing/sliding facilities. Any kind of bolt on securing ratchet straps are easy to add. Note that it is best to have the ratchet behind the frame so that it will not scratch the appliance being moved.

The stair climbing/sliding is very enticing. The ideal stair climber is the 6 wheel climbers but I do not see any way that this can be done with it interfering with the front tongue load support. However I evaluated and bought the Magliner 86006 C5 Stair Climber Kit for Standard Hand Truck on Amazon for $31.

It actually fit perfectly. The holes on the wheel side of the supports were exactly right. The upper part of the support fit perfectly on the frame but needed 2 holes to be drilled in the right locations for the Harbor Freight hand truck.

No problem. Just remove the cotter pins and bolt on the support at the axle and then drill 2 holes at the correct location in the frame. The frame support also fits perfectly. The issue that then arose is that the stair climbers/sliders interfere with the black back part of the hand truck where it locks into the main front lift to get out of the way in storage mode.

I have not finished my plan but once the stair slider is installed it can be easily removed leaving the 4 screws and nuts in place while using the hand truck normally. When in appliance mode the supports can easily be re-installed but at that point in seconds.

I will find a way to always have the supports bolted to the rest of the hand truck. I will have to research how to easily remove the black back part of the Franklin Hand Truck for appliance usage which for me is rare but good to have.

I had the previous version of this cart but I didn’t like the single handles as you needed 2 hands to pull it. I ended of giving it to my daughter so I could justify buying a new one. This version has the round handle which lets you operate with one hand.

I converted to the rubber wheels as a previous user suggested and I quote: “Nice 4-in-1 Convertible Hand Truck, BUT. This hand truck has a lot of benefits, except one. the rock hard plastic wheels (which are absolute junk).

BUT. for $15, I bought two of HF’s air filled, ball bearing (#40729), 10″ flat tread tires (NOT their round profile tires) that are the same 10″ diameter, with bearings that fit the exact same 5/8″ axle diameter.

All that was needed was 4 more washers on each side to match the original positioning of the craptastic plastic wheels. Now the hand truck is near perfect, with all the convertible features AND a smooth ride over rough spots or door thresholds.

Those plastic wheels would be fine on a factory cement floor or other hard surface environments. I found them a little rough pulling items on a grass surface, and especially harsh pulling items up cement or wood stairs but they work fine for these chores.

The rubber tires mentioned above are rated for 300 lbs a piece giving you a 600 lb capacity maybe a little more depending on the position horizontal or vertical compared to the 800- 1000 lb capacity mentioned for the original plastic wheels.

Swapping between sets of wheels is a breeze because of the carter pin setup in the event of a heavy load need as it would take 10 min. or so to swap. I use the cart for moving my winter/ summer tires across the lawn and bringing items up from the basement mostly.

Overall this is an awesome hand cart and with that drop down front hoop its makes this cart invaluable.

I was in desperate need to move some very heavy items (bricks, cinderblocks, even a fridge) by myself and I’m a disabled veteran. So I went looking for a new hand truck. I was able to move everything with great ease.

Even the fridge was easy to manage. I dropped the hand truck into the 45 degree angle and shimmied the fridge onto it and the fridge fell right into place. Then when I pulled them along uneven ground, it just rolled over like it was just a little bumpy.

The holes didn’t even stop it. It might be pricey, but it’s well worth it. I have 3 other hand trucks but this being able to drop into the 45 degree angle has made moving things a one-person job. I’m beyond ecstatic with this.

I must wonder what else I can do with this miracle hand truck.

i got this for moving heavier things (sacks of corn for birds/dogfood) around the garage. i ususally buy 5-6 hundred lbs of corn or 3-5 40lb bags of dogfood at once (that way i don’t have to buy for an extended time).

this handtruck makes unloading and moving it where i want it SO much easier. i love the fact the wheels are solid – no worries about flat tires! i also used this to move my old refrigerator into my basement.

for 74 dollars, it’s a very useful item to have around the house.

I needed this for moving some heavier than expected items. Was able to locate this at local store. Only issue i had was that none were out on the floor. Particular store had 3 in plain site in the store-room and another 2 that were at front of store but belonged to the store.

Asked a shift supervisor at first and she indicated that they were out of these. Saw the two in front and asked a cashier who pulled the item numbers and was able to locate the item in back. Grateful for them being helpful.

wheels are solid so there isn’t an issue of flat tire. the frame is beefed up noticeably where wheel axle connects. That is what failed on other dolly for me. It truly can withstand a lot of weight. Also it is shorter so it’s easier to transport.
