20 Best Trucks For Skateboards (2022 Updated)

Bennetts come in a close second, however that added rebound from the dual kingpin design in the Sidewinder turns any pavement into your own personal ultimate wave.

Great product. Great price. Wicked cool color. Gull Wing has been an innovator, and continues to be so. If you want to cruise, you cant loose with these trucks.

The double layer design with 2 bushings per truck makes for the smoothest ride imaginable. Sidewinder is the perfect name; gliding side to side, making silky S-shaped curves. These are not for carving, these are for surfing the street.

Gullwing Sidewinder ii trucks are a great product and with great value. I have them on most of my skateboards and longboards: old school, drop through, drop down.

Absolutely amazing trucks. The best ones I’ve ever skated. Just like the standard independent trucks, but way lighter. I feel like they are just as durable as the standard ones as well. I ride independents because they turn so well when I’m skating bowls and just skating transition in general.

I’ve tried skating other trucks, that are probably good for skating street and rolled into the bowl with them and almost died. I’m definitely going to stick to independents. I bought them off of the NHS website.

They were super easy to find on the site and there was a bunch of helpful information about the trucks that I could read. I bought them and they came in the mail super fast after that. NHS makes great stuff.

These trucks are amazing. You can’t go wrong with forged hollow. Lightweight. They look beautiful. These trucks are great for grinding. They take roughly 5 or so skate sessions to break in. The bushings are on the softer side, so if you’re heavier than 200 LBs you may want to purchase some harder bushings to go with these.

As for pricing these were very well priced in comparison to standard trucks they’re less than standard ones I looked at. Would buy these trucks again and will always use NHS Skate Direct going forward.

The stock bushings are extremely soft, but otherwise these trucks seem great after a few days of riding on them (I replaced my bushings with harder ones). I’d say they’re not just good for the price, but are good in general compared to other more expensive trucks.

The kingpin is below the grinding surface, which for me is essential to not get stuck during grinds. They have a little bit lower axle height than the standard tensors, but are higher than the mag lows and older models.

I’d say definitely give these a try if you don’t want to spend $45+ on trucks, and especially if you already have some bushings you can put in them. I haven’t tried grinding cement with them, so not sure about the durability for that, but theyre holding up great to rails so far.

I like the trucks verry much they al lighter than most of the other trucks. I have always had tensor trucks and these tensor trucks ride super smooth.

All around good trucks. The only problem is they feel a bit heavier than the hollow ones but then again they are cheaper. It takes a while to get the bushings worked in also so they have this squeaky sound for a while.

I bought a set of these a while ago and have now tried all of the Big Four of trucks (Independents, Thunders, Aces and Ventures). I bought the non hollow axle ones and while not as light as they could be the V-Lights provide the perfect medium between a hefty truck and a light truck.

These trucks also really extend the wheel base of your board and I found them to be perfect for 14. 25 inch wheel base decks for me. The turn is also really nice and while not as good as an Indie or Ace turn I definitely prefer them to Thunders in that department.

Stock bushings are nice too. The only slight annoyance is that you’ll need a wrench to get some of the nuts on your truck bolts because the hanger will make it next to impossible to have a skate tool fit.

Very light hollow trucks! I love light trucks. The wheelbase on these (axle to axle) is about 4mm farther apart compared to Independent hollows. My only complaint with these is that my skate tool won\’t fit perfectly around the kingpin, a little annoying but shouldn\’t prevent you from buying these! Bones bushings also fit perfectly on the kingpin.

These trucks are working hard for me and feel great. Been getting some nice grinds on them and I been skating venture since I was in highschool. Definitely one of my go to trucks and I love that they are super light.

Will prob buy another pair when I need.

Wow, these Tensor Magnesiums were a MAJOR upgrade for me. Mad lightweight and they seem pretty tough so far too. They’ve taken some pretty hard impacts with ease thus far. If you don’t like loose trucks like myself, I advise getting hard bushings like Bones hardcores, since the Tensor ones were really soft.

These trucks are perfect with a set of harder bushings in them, for me anyways. Excellent price i got these for as well no doubt, hope they serve me well and for many, many skate sessions! May I add, the black and red looks super sharp, almost hurts me to have to use them because they look so good LOL!!.

Was my first time trying tensors and I have to say there is a huge difference between these and my always go to independent trucks. These are super light weight and so far they have held up to the abuse of day to day use.

I’ve always been told to test out different brands and you might like something better then the other. This was my first pair or tensors and I am impressed with the quality. Thank you.

Hello NHS, My name is Jordan Hamilton and I began purchasing NHS products as a youngster in the late 80’s from my local shop, which was in Cotati, California at the time. Since then I’ve always maintained that Independent trucks were the best, hands down.

The lure of the new technology (inverted kingpin) and the lightweight appeal of the KRUX trucks sparked my interest about 2 years ago. Prior to the K5’s I had the regular KRUX, with the inverted kingpin.

The grind was solid and they turned well. After about a year of harsh curb skating I wore them down to the axels and decided to purchased the K5’s. After one session the trucks appeared visually bent and regardless of the adjustments I made with the kingpin or the bushings, they wouldn’t roll straight or turn with any precision whatsoever.

So I slapped my trusty old INDY’s on and have been skating with a smile ever since. I will never stray from Independent again regardless of the technology upgrades from other truck manufacturers. I know INDY has the inverted kingpin now as well but I’ll just stick to grinding down traditional kingpins and nuts for the time being.

I’m not the type of person to complain or ever return a product, but since you asked for my honest feedback I will provide it. I understand the inherent risk of purchasing a new product that will be getting abused straight out of the box, and how the outcome of the abuse is part of the learning process for the consumer and manufacturer.

I wanted my KRUX K5’s to be amazing, and unfortunately they were not. I feel awful giving a bad review but I guess it’s best if the manufacturer knows the truth. A curb skater will mangle a set of KRUX K5’s in 1 session.

I can send the KRUX back if you want to check them out. I haven’t tossed ’em yet. If you want to send me a set of 139 mid or 139 standard INDY’s (or my favorite ever, the 6 hole, Stage 8’s or (7’s), if they exist in a dusty closet somewhere.

Surprisingly good trucks! Picked em up on clearance never having ridden krux before. 54mm wheels and Stock bushings are working great for me (227 lbs). even running loose trucks im not getting any wheel bite.

Well worth the money.

Wanted to tryout these new trucks, i’ve been a indy rider my whole life and now i have another reason to never stray from that path. These trucks didn’t turn nearly as well, not as responsive. other than not being able to get over the way the trucks felt under my feet they were very shiny and seemed tough, so if you like krux you’ll probably be hyped on the k5s but i wasn’t, i had to go get some indys and pass the k5s to my lil bro!.

We got a set of these to set up some extra decks. Surprisingly good truck for tech skating. They are lower and lighter then krux k5 or indy regs but they aren’t going to grind or turn as good. Stock bushing are junk but that’s normal.

These offer all of the quality you would expect in a good skate truck without the nasty price tag. Whether skating on a budget or you have money to burn these are great looking and great performing trucks.

Great trucks I recommend them for all skaters the compliment the skate bored and my weeks lols great and sturdy as all the Jim’s I have done with them

I can’t decide if I want to put these on my old school cruiser deck or what. The full wing quality is spot on.

The pivot cups are glued into the baseplate and made of a hard plastic, so I couldnt remove to change them out for rubber pivot cups for a smoother turns. I ordered these 8. 38 trucks specifically to match an 8.

38 wide deck. These are light, and also low which is conveniant because most trucks are high trucks. You can ride a different feel on a 2nd skateboard set up with these. They turn a 3 out of 5, kind of the way Krux turn; not as nimble as Ventures or Indys.

These feel thinner to the touch like Thunder Trucks. They are comfortable in the hand to mall grab, the bushings are a hard, lasting durometer durable so thats a plus- you wont need to replace them if you skate tight trucks they dont bust as you tighten them like the earwax colored stock Indy bushings do.

Also these trucks are low, if you go with 50mm or 48mm wheels, these trucks will bring your board closer to the ground making these lower, light trucks good for flatground flip tricks. The star stamp on the baseplate looks pretty sharp.

Definately skate-able.

I recommend the trucks they are quality and a great price. Also not alot of companies have the 8. 38″ axel so it’s great cause that’s my fav size. Idk I like it cause it fits or I like making life difficult for myself but either way they are good trucks.

Bushings are a bit soft but that’s a personal preference not a manufacturer problem. Easily switch them out if you ride tight trucks. Great product horrible skateshop. Tgm skateboards could care less about you or your package or problems.

I’ve ridden Indy’s most of my life(I’m 43). I want to try something different and they are awesome. They’re low like Venture’s, stable like Thunders, and turn like Indy’s. I really like having a low truck on a 8.

The pro\’s First: These trucks grind so well, superior to any other on the market. Yes, you can grind unwaxed curbs. Second: The weight is unparalleled and makes for easy popping. 261g! Third: The turn is smooth and responsive.

A little less surfy (not so drawn out) as some brands but hella responsive with a sharp and quick turn which I love. Forth: They have four dimples (Rodney Mullen came up with this idea) under the trucks base plate.

This helps hold the truck in place if bolts begin to slacken. This is another unique idea from Tensor. The bushings: I have skated with Bones medium bushings since day one but did try the original bushings and was impressed.

Due to the bushings making flush contact with each other the truck re-centre vert effectively – A unique and nice design tweak. I am simply so used to Bones that I chose to switch them out. Cons: Nothing is perfect and there is always compromise.

The Mag Light ATG grind down faster than average which ends up costing more money. But for me they\’re worth every penny and I\’d rather replace my trucks more frequently and have a good grind than have a poor grind and save a few Euros.

I love these trucks and the fact that they are so light. I mostly transition skate so im not punishing them a lot. I switched the bushings out not because theres anything wrong with them but simply because i wanted green bushings.

I wanted to replace the hollow kingping for a titanium kingpin but the kingpin is unfortunately stuck to the base plate. The axles are hollow as well. The only thing that could be better in my opinion is titanium axles/kingpins because it will save weight and it\’s a lot more durable.

Maglight 2. 0 maybe?.

Brilliant trucks. I have been using a beginner set up; stage 1 birdhouse 8” which came with birdhouse trucks. Once I upgraded to the Tensor maglights the board just felt so much better. Not only was it lighter, but the feel of the board was so much better making me balance better.

I go into ollies much more confidently and land them way more. Manuals have improved too. They’re expensive trucks but if you are serious about getter better at skating and enjoying it more, I recommend them!.

Good trucks very solid, have been skating them for over a year now, and they are spotless! However the looseness can\’t be adjusted with a regular skateboard tool which is kinda annoying.

Very nice high trucks, durable with grinding ability. They will last you a long time. They are less turny than indy\’s but most skaters won\’t even notice.

Can’t go wrong with Krux. The galaxy design is out of this world. Have bought multiple pairs.

Independent standard hollows are the perfect weight and height. I can skate 54mm wheels with medium tight trucks and rarely get wheel bite. Let’s face it, nothing has the same deep turn and grind ability as Independents.

I have these 149 Winkowski trucks mounted on a 8. 625 shaped deck with pretty steep kicks, and this combination is insanely good. NHS had the best price and quickest shipping. They were nice enough to throw in a nice sticker pack as well! Thank you.

These feel good. They were in the sale section of the website so I threw down a couple of bucks to see what the hollow thing was all about. Standard indy turning radius, grindage and general overall quality.

Just noticeably lighter than other 159’s that I’ve ridden. I don’t generally worry about weight when it comes to trucks though, so hey.

They are light, tough, and definitely built to grind. Indys are the best truck. They turn so smooth and on point. They handle the gnarliest terrain, ledges, rails, copping, etc… oh and they look awesome! The black base with the black bolts look sick!!! I love these trucksss!.

I’ve ridden a mess of different brands over the years and I have to say that Ace offers the most responsive and satisfying grind of any truck that I have tried so far. And they don’t get speed-wobbles when you’re ripping around the bowl at mach 2! These trucks are a must-try if you skate transition, (or just like to slappy curbs.

) Old-school enthusiasts will note that the framework for Ace trucks are modeled after Indy stage 3s- a much tighter and more responsive geometry than contemporary stage 11 Indys (with softer stock bushings to boot.

) Newtimers will appreciate that the AF-1 line offers a lower truck with hollow kingpins, forged baseplates and hollow kingpins. For the best bang for the buck- fly Ace.

Slick look, bushings didn’t need adjusting out of the box. They’re a little on the “heavy” side. My gf rides tensors and they feel like feathers compared to these. Still. Quality product, as I think these will hold up better after a longer period of time.

Wide, low, snappy pop, not too heavy… I am old, I need all the help i can get, these were invented for me! Goes well with 14” wb decks…
