I am pretty sure using this DunRite anchor is the way to do a Turkey. My turkey was almost 15 pounds – I think it might be best to use a 12 pound turkey because the breast was on the baking pan and I needed to flip it half way through.
I was experimenting not just with the anchor but also with using my Frigidaire air fry oven, so I have a number of variables I was working with. The turkey started to get toooo brown half way through so I switched the oven to bake.
The turkey was beautiful all the way around on the outside and nice and juicy inside – even the breast. Another thing I would change would be to use a rimmed baking sheet instead of a disposable baking pan.
I think the rim was too high. So – will let you know how it goes next time, but I will definitely continue to brine my turkey and to use the Dunrite anchor. It was simple to use and suspended the turkey nicely.
Cooking turkey upside down is the best, but, I don’t think Camerons rack is stainless steel. I use it in my smoker and I scrub it pretty good after each use. I washed it after my first use and sections of copper appeared on areas I scrubbed with scotch bright and Dawn dish water.
By the third use, much of the rack appears to have copper showing through. It is hard like steel, so I expect the steel was copper plated and then it was flash chromed with ornamental chrome. Very disappointed in the advertisement that it is stainless steel.
After three uses, it is much harder to clean than stainless steal. I am thinking about trashing it and buying a brand other than Camerons because the design is excellent, but Camerons is poorly made and deteriorates with each use.
It works pretty well overall, however I don’t think you’d be able to use a turkey much over 14 lbs without the breast hitting the bottom of the roasting pan. If you’re a crispy skin person, the back does this just fine, but the breast doesn’t crisp up as well.

Best pattern for Turkey at 40 yards I have ever seen. With the Remington #4 Hevi shott 3 inch magnum it printed a perfect 36inch pattern on the grease board and only about 8 inches below middle of my hold.
Devestating at 30 yards, 24 inch pattern with same shell in my Mossberg 500, 24″ barrel. The 7 shot TSS Federal patterened well but not equal to the Hevi shot.
I bought this choke tube today show the lady when she came outside because of current status with covid 19. i showed her sku # of the item told I had a benelli super nova she came back with wrong choke tube I told I dont think this is the right one my factory choke tubes has threads at top not bottom she said I will go ask the gun tec.
Comes back with same tube ensures me it’s the right. Well we know how it turned out wrong as 2 left shoes. the staff at bass pro should not be allowed to sell nerf guns yet alone real ones.

I’m using this choke in a Stevens 301 20 ga. and it is working great. At 25 yards using #8 target loads the pattern is very tight. I couldn’t be happier.
I have always had really good luck with the HS Undertaker chokes out of my 12ga shotguns so this year I have switched to a 20ga and thought I’d try one in my Stevens 320 pump and to no surprise the Undertaker choke works great as well.

I bought this to hunt deer from a tree stand with this year (+-40 yards or so). It did the job superbly. I the only caution I will pass on to others it not to use Hornady 00 Buck Shot, as it groups horribly.
ordering info is insufficient to make a correct order. the package info spells out which degree of restriction to order depending on how it will be used93″” 00 or 31/2″ 00, etc. only after you receive the itm will you see this.
my full choke which was sent to me only patterns 23/4″ magnum 12 pellet 00 buck in an acceptable pattern. the package info recommends full choke for 3. 5″ 00. and an x-full forjust about everything else.

This choke is awesome. I shoot it a benelli super nova, I never patterned it. I put it in my gun and used shells I already had and went hunting. The longest shot ive made with it was 65-70 yards away it dropped the deer in it’s tracks with #1’s.

I just received this choke after ordering 5 days earlier from Bass Pro, which equals fast, prompt shipping. I purchased this choke for a Mossberg 835 turkey model shotgun. The factory Mossberg choke which came with the gun performed fair with 4, 5, and 6 shot, however, based on personal preference, I have always used 4, or 5 shot.
The factory choke has a. 695 constriction which became sporadic at the 40 yard range. After installing the BlackOut turkey choke, I instantly had 19 shot inside the kill zone at 50 yards!! This choke sure does combine very well with the 835’s overbored barrel.
