20 Best Tss Turkey Shells (2022 Updated)

All my life I have complained that not one brand has truly ever perfected the turkey vest. Next to your guns and calls the turkey vest is the most important tool a hunter can own. It seems all the vests that have ever been developed have been bulky with poor design and low-quality materials.

I have searched for years trying to find a vest that holds all my gear, but operates like a pack. Turkey hunters have to move and walk a lot (many times run) and we need a product that is technical and fit-for-purpose.

FINALLY! Leave it to Sitka to answer this need with this turkey vest. it checks all the boxes and to me it is a perfect combination of a vest and technical pack. I could not be more happy to have received this vest today and can’t wait to use it.

Well worth the money and absolutely a home-run in design and quality. I switched to Sitka Gear recently for all my hunting clothing and gear and it makes the outings so much more comfortable and enjoyable.

The folks at Sitka are truly aces when it comes to understanding what is needed. the old saying couldn’t be more true, “you get what you pay for”! Thanks Sitka!.

Firstly, I am a gear head. I love gear and gadgets and quality products. I am also relatively new to hunting turkeys, maybe 6 or 7 years. I have had tried three turkey vests in that time and none fit great, carried the load well, or was convenient to use.

I won’t mention the brands, but they were all well known names. I was not fond of this vest due to its size, because I like having “stuff”. For longer hunts, I will still use a Bino harness that has the basic survival gear in it (I hunt in remote areas), but this pack swallowed up my gear and when I needed it it was right there.

The seat was comfortable, the pockets are quiet, and the pack is super comfortable to wear; almost like I am not wearing it. The large rear pocket is a little small for decoys, but I could get one that folds up to fit.

That might be the only improvement I would make; allow that rear pocket to expand more, perhaps with some cinches. Overall best turkey vest I have used and highly recommend it. One of hunting partners just bought one as he found it in stock.

I had to select yes for “Is it compact?”, because this fryer is 30 quart, and the Bayou Classic steamer stockpot, which also fries stuff, is 4 quarts larger than this, and that’s a whole gallon bigger, which, if you are buying peanut oil, is expensive.

Also, the items that come with this turkey fryer (packed inside the pot, i. e. , compact) are useful and downright necessary. So this rig is pretty good sized and definitely heavy gauge, thick, with stout handles and a substantial bottom thickness.

Beware big box pots with thin bottoms that a propane burner will do a number on, but cost less than this one. Not worth what you save for the thin stuff in the long run, which is probably 2 times use, and that’s dangerous.

Looks well constructed and a bit heavier made than the cheap original that came with the burner . I havent used it yet but it should preform well when I do . Im awaiting warmer weather to use it .

everything seems to be of sturdy quality except silver coating is boiling off. not sure if it poisonous so I have just been using it for canning

Loved using it. It held a 22 lb turkey for Thanksgiving. The lid doubloing as a saute pan allowed me to make the gravy without dirtying another pan. Well constructed and heavy – evenly roasted turkey all around was the result.

I have always had wonderful service and been extremely pleased with everything I have ordered from Vermont Country Store. This is an AWESOME roaster! Very nicely made, heavy stainless steel and quite sure this will be the last roaster I will ever buy.

The quality is top notch!.

Happy with roasting pan but have to put foil in bottom sprayed with pam to keep the roasts from sticking- tried it without the foil and sprayed with pam but it did not work as well. Also the sides are a little too big when making gravy I have to use a large handle spoon to keep from burning my arms.

I have been buying Old El Paso Taco Shells for many many years. almost every time I grocery shop as we eat tacos once a week or so. Still my favorite brand of taco shells however I have noticed the last several boxes that the shells not only seem smaller.

getting at least one broken shell. but they are getting over done (brown). I’m following the directions for 325 degrees 6-7 minutes and leave them in no longer than 6 minutes. I believe the box is reflecting directions for a bit larger taco shell than is now in the box.

Shrinkflation? Someone suggested in another review to set temp for 300 degrees but it seems if that is the appropriate temperature. the box should reflect it. I like a crunchy taco shell. so I will keep the 325 degree per the box and take them out at 5 min and see how that works.

Until recently. I would have given them 5 stars on the crunchy taco shells. Today. only 4 because I believe they are smaller. If they haven’t changed the box to reflect the size. this might also explain the broken shells.

I bought these today and was really looking forward to some tacos since I haven’t had any in a while. I figured 18 shells would be enough for at least two meals for my son and me. Upon opening the box I was shocked at the tiny size of the shells.

These are half the size of a taco at my local Mexican restaurants (both fast food and regular restaurants). They’re half the size Old El Paso shells used to be. It was absolutely ridiculous. The flavor was good – as remembered – and they got nice and crunchy (took longer than suggested for the microwave), but they aren’t worth the effort.

They’re extremely hard to fill because they’re so small and about4 bites finishes one taco. My teenaged son took almost half of them for one meal. I’m so disappointed. Bring back full sized shells and/or warn consumers that the taco shells are tiny.

Seriously, a 2 year old could easily eat 4 or 5 of these.

Old El Paso stand-up taco shells are pretty good. Not perfect, but what is? I have to say that preparing tacos with these shells is SO much simpler than the thinner, regular shells which fall over as you try to stuff them.

These stay upright and let you prepare the tacos easier and better. However, I honestly have RARELY purchased a box of shells where 1 or more of the shells aren’t broken. I have to rattle the package off the shelf but I usually attribute broken shells to lazy, clumsy shelf-stocking staff.

So, I usually purchase 2 boxes. One for tacos and 1 for all the broken shells to use as tortilla chips. I would recommend these shells, even with the small, annoying issues.

I received this bag as a Christmas gift and was skeptical. I was wrong. I am able to hold a full box and fill the loops with shells. It also holds my beanie, gloves, facemasks, and compact binoculars.

Added bonus, the front pouch is perfect for holding the Little Debbie essentials.

Has all kinds of zippers and small areas for license/stamps. Extra securing buckles if you’re feeling untrusting if the zipper. Loops on the outside for the quickie shells but more than enough room in the main compartment for boxes of em too.

Excellent bag for carrying deer hunting like skinning knives, folding saw, gloves, rope, bags, tags, and many other items. Easier to access when still hunting than a backpack. Very satisfied with the two I purchased.

Tried and true. My daughter took her fourth turkey with a Remington 870 20ga 2 3/4” 4 shot at 32 yards very impressive the pattern this choke holds at that distance. Other chokes I could only pattern to 25 yards for good clean killing patterns Jelly Head patterned well to 35 and could have been farther.

With my daughters closer is always better. Take the time to call them in close even if it takes another day. No better way to spend time than in the woods.

I had heard so many good things about the Siete brand so I took a chance and purchased these for family taco night. The shells are crispy and flaky and no one commented that it tasted different (as they are grain free).

They are a bit thinner and break more easily than regular taco shells however. After one or two bites, we had to use our forks and finish off our tacos as more of a taco salad. They are also more expensive.

We thought they were tasty and would purchase them again.

I think the people who said these needed improvement must’ve have forgotten to crisp them first. It says right in the box to crisp them in the oven for 2-3 minutes! These taste homemade! They are, hands down, the best tortilla shells I’ve EVER had.

A little on the pricey side, but I’m willing to pay a little more for these quality ingredients. I was so happy to see they were made with avocado oil and not some cheap junk!.

I was so excited when I saw these in my Target app. I have a wheat/corn allergy. Some of the reviews said the shells were really fragile. I didn’t have that problem. All of the shells in my box were whole.

I bought the Siete Taco seasoning too. I thoroughly enjoyed my tacos. The taste and crunch were extremely gratifying. Muchas Gracias Siete!.

I have great hopes that this will help my 1 chicken who is laying shell-less eggs! So far the chickens all seem to accept and eat some of it their feed. They often target white dots. so far so good. Haven’t fed long enough to notice change in eggs.

My chicken really like the feed. After one week she did started to lay eggs. She’s happier and started to eat more often. I can see how happy she is around the yard finding bugs. I did mix with corn and sunflower seeds.

No substitute for Oyster shell as best quality for Chickens or Human Vitamins . The trouble is lack of quanity as no longer legal to dredge ancient oyster reefs and live shell is limited

It does fit a 2x-3x body frame. There is room for additional adjustments on the shoulder straps to fit a taller or shorter torso. It does not have a spine pad. For some odd reason, newer turkey vest do not have the pads mounted on the back anymore.

I recommend lightly washing or running the vest under a tap to wash the factory smell out and soften the fabric to make less noise. Do not get the seat pad wet.

Vest its light but durable. Isnt bulky, and has ample pockets and pouches to hold what you need to turkey hunt.

I love this vest! I don’t know why I haven’t owned one before now. This vest has room for all kinds of gear. It would be good for fisherman and even hikers to carry gear in.

Very nice vest especially for the price. Purchased this spring and worked great for gun and bow hunting. Lots of storage. Love the feature inside the back. Between Nebraska and Minnesota I already have three of the turkeys dated!.

Nice vest ! Very adjustable to fit, nice pockets for all my calls. Only reason for giving 4stars it doesn’t have any padding for the back when you have to sit for a long period of time.

I ordered a vest prior to the start of the season and when I got it, it was not the camo I ordered. I called in let them know and the gentleman said yes they knew and there was a mix up. Odd why no one called me to explain.

I asked about getting the right one sent to me and I was told to mail back the other one and once they got it they would send me the right one, or I could just buy another one and to make sure I had it in time for the season.

That left a bad taste and I do not believe I will ever purchase anything else from rogers.

This is an excellent board for a turkey fan mount. Has an excellent spring Tom strutting on the front. It is very sturdy and easy to mount.

I have purchased MANY of these in recent years and could not be happier. They are very well made of great looking oak and they are made in the USA too! My goal is to bag a longbeard in all 50 states (none in Alaska I know) and as each state is checked off, I use this mount kit to proudly display the journey.

I glue a wooden (black walnut) shape of the particular state in the center of the empty wood area and it just looks awesome!.

these turkey biots are not what I thought they would be ,like goose biots but longer not so longer yes but thinner and softer and broke easily this may vary feather to feather , and with age of bird ? perhaps , this is what I found did not suit what I wanted to do.

Bought this as the supplier I usually get it from locally was out. Half the price and the same quality. Will be buying again

I am very pleased with the Biots. They are good quality and substantial, unlike other brands.

Installed on my Mossberg 20ga youth combo gun for my son. Took a gun that could only shoot barely 25 yards and made it to a gun that can reach 50 to 60 yards now. Extremely tight pattern. Use 3 inch, high brass #5 shots with it.

This was recommended from a friend.

I have had the Kick’s gobbling Thunder ever since it came out. I paired it with my Mossburg Ultimag that I have had since 1994. Last spring I used the combo on a nice Oscela Tom in south-west Florida.

The Tom came in real close, I was using Winchester XR’s, and at 20 yard, I missed the bird. He started to run and I dropped him at 77 yards, I couldn’t believe that I killed him at that distance. This choke has never let me down.

If your a close in hunter, go with a different load (like Win double X magnums, for distance and hung up birds, go with the Win Longbeard XR’s). Just bought a Tristar Rapor 12 gage and am going to Basspro tomorrow to purchase a Kick’s Gobbling Thunder for it.

Had just got a Mossberg Maverick 88 I was wanting a turkey tube so this is what I ended up buying. Hands down a great buy! I’m not normally one to write reviews but it was worth one. Smoked a turkey at 50 yards this morning! 10/10 would buy again.

Ordered the Kicks Gobblin Thunder. 670 constriction. Put it on a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag turkey shotgun. Found out item was on backorder after I purchased it. However, came back in stock after a week or so and shipped quick.

Shoots great patterns all the way out to 40 yards (I hopefully don’t plan on having to shoot further than that). Would probably feel comfortable shooting up to 50 yards with this choke.

I love this snack the meat and cheese is so fresh healthy and tasty please if you want a good high quantity snack buy this because it is AMAZING totally deserves all the 5-star ratings it has gotten!!

Great snack on the go! Adults and my 6-year old all like this. We pack these for road trips and outings to the zoo or amusement park. Like to load up on these when they’re on sale!

These are ok, but I think it’s cheaper to create your own. Because of the portion size, I think it’s a healthy option. Flavor is good.

Finding high quality product is hard – period. Finding wild game is even more difficult especially if you don’t have access to hunting land and the cost associated with hunting. I live in the great state of California and drive 7 hours round trip to hunt with lead free ammo on public land In search of Wild turkey that is so different from traditional turkey.

Add up the cost to hunt and probability of ever harvesting a wild turkey and this option wins in every category. I buy as many of these turkies as I can buy and in my opinion they taste better than other turkey.

For thanksgiving. You can’t get more traditional than a wild and amazingly tasty bird. They do an amazing job and an experience to remember.

I purchased this for the family’s lunch and opened it to start making our lunches and the smell almost knocked me out. It was spoiled and I had to toss it. Be sure to check your package out before leaving the club.
