20 Best Tubular Tire Sealant (2022 Updated)

This is a great product for use around the home! One of the features I like is that it cleans up with water because I usually make a mess with anything that is liquid. I used it to seal the pneumatic tires on the dolly at the place where I work.

The tires were always losing air. Now, this is no longer a problem! I also like the visual and the printed instructions. They are very easy to follow and understand making use of the sealant a snap. Related to the ease of understanding the instructions, I like the 4oz.

and 8oz. marks on the 16 oz. plastic container which make measurement easy for the appropriate quantities that need to be added per tire. Note: This sealant is not packaged in an aerosol can so it will not inflate a flat tire at the same time it is injected.

In fact, to inject it into the tire it is necessary to deflate the tire first and then reinflate the tire once the sealant is injected.

We just moved into a new construction home and have construction going around us. So it’s normal for us to see nails and screws on the asphalt. So when my sons bike tire had a hole in it I knew where it came from.

This sealant worked so fast and so quickly my son didn’t even have enough time to cry because he was missing out on riding. I’m honestly blown away. It’s very thick and the bright green color is so easy to see so you can see where it goes.

I just put some in his tire and it instantly plugged the hole. I will replace the tire eventually, but at least he’ll be able to ride his bike. The quality and packaging is great! I love the tube and that it’s clear! I can see exactly how much product is left and I can squeeze it in.

It worked so well that my neighbors have all purchased some for their bikes and golf carts. This really works!.

I used this for a Tubliss system install on a 2020 Husky 701 Enduro with Motoz Tractionator GPS tires (great 50/50 tire) front and rear. Used it to lubricate the Tubliss tubes and the tire beads as well as dumping some in the tire so it can seal any holes.

So far after more than 3,000 miles when I check my air I still get some of this squirting out the valve stem so I know it hasn’t dried up yet. And this is with a lot of miles of my TPMS telling my my tire temps are over 95 deg and near 100deg days.

No idea how well it will actually seal up a hole as I haven’t gotten one yet (hence 4 not 5 stars), but will update if I do. I hope when that time comes and I have to plug the hole that it doesn’t interfere with the rubber cement for my bacon strip patch.

We’ll see.

Stan’s is fantastic! I use the sealant in my MTB inner tubes, not tubeless. I live in an area with “goat heads” I was getting flats on every ride, then I put Stan’s in my 29ers x 2. 35 (40-50 mL). No flats since! I add about 5-10 mL every 3 months.

After 18 months no flats still on the same inner tubes and I rarely add air to my wheels. Great product if you are prone to getting thorn punctures. When you consider the cost of a flat (lost trail time), patches, and inner tubes, Stan’s ends up being pennies per mile and less frustration.

Definitely worth the cost of a 1 L bottle.

Excellent product that really works. Unfortunately had a bad puncture whilst out on a long ride. Rotated the puncture to the bottom of the wheel and it sealed itself in seconds. Added a bit of air and continued my journey for a further 30 miles.

Have not had to do any further work on the tyre, apart from adding a bit more sealant when I got home. No problems since. I’m really impressed with the product matching the hype, now converting my wife’s bike to tubeless and will definitely be using the Stans kit , also a great product and easy to fit.

Bought the Stan’s No Tubes to set up my Boardman Adv 9. 0 tubeless, which came with the tubeless ready tyres, valves and tapped rims. I bought the Stan’s injector to complete the tubeless setup thought the valve rather pour direct into the true when mounting, so I have ready for tubeless setup maintenance top up in a few months time.

Using the product was simple and I added 3oz to each 38c Panaracer GK tyres after seating through the valve, with a little soapy water on the tyre wall the tyres inflated no problem with a track pump with no visable signs of leaks, after ensuring the sealant was distributed on the inside of the tyre, job done in 30mins and it was the first time I have set up tyres tubeless.

Checking the tyre the next day, it showed no issues and the pressure in the tyres was fine, riding the bike I could the wheels seemingly feeling lighter with no tubes and rotating with more ease. Overall I am happy and it was easier than expected to complete a tubeless set with the Stan’s No Tubes sealant.

British Cycling Discount also made the purchase price even sweeter.

I’ve been using Stan’s sealant for 4 years and it works great for small diameter punctures from goatheads and cacti. Mesquite thorns usually still require a piece of rubber or bacon. I haven’t compared Stan’s to any other sealant.

Only flat in 4 years is from sealant drying out and a sidewall gash. Tubeless is far superior to using even thorn-resistant tubes.

We had a golf cart with a couple of tires leaking air over time and getting worse. We put this into the tires and wow. It’s been over a year and it’s holding great!! We use and abuse this cart. It’s not a standard golf cart it’s an off-road cart!! Thanks for this product!!!.

Bought for my riding mower which I need to constantly add air to the tires due to slow leaks in all four tires. Followed instructions used the included valve stem tool and removed all the valves. Added 8 pumps of slime to each tire, put the valve stem back, aired them back up, drove around.

All four still holding 38 lbs air pressure after 3 weeks now. Worked for me!.

I purchased a gallon for my ATV to stop some slow leaks and it worked great. I had enough leftover for my atv trailer which was leaking badly on 15 year old weather degraded cheap tires. They are in really bad shape and to my surprise it stoped those leaks too.

It’s been 3 months and the trailer tire may have lost a little pressure but not much.

I’ve been using TireJect for several years and that’s why I put it in my new John Deere riding lawnmower. It is simple to use. I suggest using some nitrile gloves should you get some on you like I did.

So simple, remove the core from the valve stem with the core remover. Install the amount of TireJect you want per tire. Reinstall the valve core back in the stem. Air up the tires and then I take the mower for a spin to get a coat on the inside of the tires.

I’ll drive in tight circles to slosh the mixture all around in the tires. I do the two front tires and then the two rear tires. Doesn’t take long at at. Great stuff. I originally started using TireJect because I had two tires leaking at the beads.

Fixed it completely in about 10 minutes.

This is my second gallon of tireject. I put most of my first gallon in a large tire with a slow bead leak and I think it fixed that one. I put some in small mower deck tires and it’s helped a lot. But haven’t had good luck with 4 wheeler tires.

The first one I was disappointed with was a plug in the sidewall of a tire that leaked. It would keep leaking, and I did add extra tireject because I wasn’t sure how much it had lost. I didn’t see much come out, just a little.

The second one that didn’t work was on a 4 wheeler tire with a small hole that it didn’t seal. It leaked slowly so took air out and put tireject in and ran it that way. Today I noticed the tire extremely low on air and put air in it.

This hole was in the tread area and when I put it down tireject does come out. I will put a plug in.

Very nice people to talk to and I’m optimistic the product will prove itself over time to be good value but right now I give it a score of “average”. Should have tested it first before taking their word that it cleans up with water.

It does. but on porous concrete it will take a heavy nylon or steel brush and some serious elbow grease. I’ll do the next 32 tires in the grass. Bought 3 gallons to do every tire I’ve got – so far have only used it on 28 of 60 tires but the results are a little underwhelming.

Bought for a miscellany of tires around the farm – farm truck, golf cart, multiple trailers, hand truck, pull carts, mower, tractor and therefore based upon the age, condition (dry rot, prior patches and plugs) I foresaw a variety of results.

So far nothing has held close to 100% of the pressure when aired up the first time and I’m now a couple of days in and I’m topping up tires for the 2nd time. Hopefully they all hold now. It can be a messy job pouring from the gallon jugs and the measuring markings could be a little easier to see and/or marked on both sides of the syringe.

Some tips that are either not clearly specified in the instructions or not at all: (1) The best way to do a lot of vehicles is with a floor jack since you want the valves at the bottom when injecting the tires and with the valve @ 6:00 it is easier to pinch off the clear tubing by holding the syringe so the tubing squeezes shut in a “V” when you push the tubing down and the syringe towards the tire.

Otherwise, without a jack you will have to move the vehicle to get each valve positioned correctly. Once you’ve removed the core, install the black adapter tightly to the valve stem but at this point don’t attach it to the clear tubing/syringe.

Now attach the tubing to the black adapter and turn the syringe’s measuring index (by spinning the tubing where it attaches to the adapter) to face you before you begin pouring. Be sure you have pinched off the line before you start.

There may be some residual pressure in the tire created by you squeezing the syringe and it may prevent the last little bit from getting out of the syringe and this is where it can get messy. (2) Another reason for using a jack or at least supporting the wheel (if you are not removing them completely) is to prevent the bead from breaking or doing damage to an older tire before you can fill it and air it back up.

(3) After doing a few tires you may want to stop and wash the syringe and adapter. They will quickly get a build up that makes them much harder to clean later. I don’t have hot water in my shop and hot water may help in the clean up.

(4) Shaking the product to get the particles in suspension creates air bubbles and if you don’t wait until the bubbles settle out in the syringe you may end up under filling your tires. (5) I was worried that after doing a lot of tires the pressure from the constant syringe use might affect the clear tubing and cause it to leak under pressure and sure enough, after more than 20 tires on a hot Florida day, the syringe pressure did cause the sealant to leak out a little from the attachment point at the adapter.

I cut off 1″ of tubing and re-attached it. If you are only doing 1 or 2 tires you may not run into any of these issues.

I heard good things about it and i used it when i had a slow leak in my 24 x 4″ fat tire bike tube. It stopped the slow leak instantly. However, i later rode over some glass and my tire was bald and i got about four regular flats as the wheel rolled over the glass, and my tire deflated in about thirty seconds.

As i was riding, i was(waiting to see if the Slime would work). It didn’t work. I had to push my heavy e-bike home. When i got home and removed the tube, all the inside of the tire and around the tube was full of Slime.

Very greasy and messy The holes were not that big, but still, the Slime squirted all over the inside of the tire. Before i could patch the holes with a glue and patch kit, i had to degrease the inner tube.

Now, if i was on the road,. far from anywhere, and this happened, and i relied solely on the Slime, i would be in trouble. In addition, if this happened and i had a patch kit on hand, i would have to bring along some cleaning agent to clean away all the slime because as i applied the patches, Slime was oozing out as i pressed on the patches to hold them in place after gluing.

So, i had to try to squeeze the tube and move as much Slime as possible away from the hole so that when i applied the patch, no Slime would ooze out and interfere with the glue under the patch. What a headache.

The Slime is still not doing the job and when i get a flat now, i have all this extra cleaning job to do just to apply a patch. I won’t buy or use this Slime anymore. I wish i could get it out of my tube.

Since then, one of the patches sprung a leak and again the tire went flat, and again Slime was everywhere. Same cleaning job, again. I think i have to buy a new inner tube. I’ve been “SLIMED”! (think of Ghostbusters).

Sealed up all the holes we got in our ATV tire from thorns! I bought this slime as well as a patch kit. On an ice fishing trip we got a flat tire on our ATV. I patched 2 noticeable holes with the patch kit and didn’t hear any more air leaking out of the tire.

The next morning it was still flat again though so I used the slime. It worked great! Sealed it right up for the rest of the weekend. Id recommend buying this and just having it on your in case of emergencys.

Apparently everything is correct. Ultra fast sealing liquid. New version of what used to be the extreme stink.

Excellent sealant. Was able to repair 3 times the punctured Conti GatorSkin tubular.

This TUFO sealant has been effective on my TUFO tyre up to 190 psi!

I think this is a real emporer and his new clothes type thing. !. it doesn’t work anywhere near as good as latex. B. it dries out, It’s like growing plants you have to keepit hydrated all the time. C?!? It does not work.

I am not a huge Stans Man, but Stans does work most of the time where this sealant has more name checks than a holiday village DJ. IT DOES NOT WORK!.

This is by far the worst buy I’ve made in the past year, no decade, no eu. The product is total mess! I am so happy that it is possible to give 0 stars, because a star is definitely not worth it. The smallest holes are not sealed.

The liquid is just that, liquid. It does not harden and remains liquid. This is only good for your most hated opponent. “Friends don’t let friends buy Finish line” I really can’t think of anything good about the product.

Except that it washes away easily. That nothing gets stuck or dried out is only an advantage if you get home and you decide to take the mess away. With a little washing, your tires and rims will be clean again, you will have washed away 10-15 euros in the sink and you have experienced another frustration that you will never EVER forget.

Neewat, this is the first product I ever reviewed a 0 and even that I find on the high side.

In my opinion this is the worst sealant I’ve tried so far. It can’t handle a tiny hole without losing pressure almost completely. Maybe because it happened in rainy conditions and they’re claiming that this sealant can be washed out easily just with water, but if the tyre sealant can’t seal a tiny hole (less than 1mm) and pressure is dropping from 5.

5 bar to 1bar than sorry. It is a fail for me. I’ve used different sealants like Stan’s no tubes, orange seal, schwalbe doc blue, giant and mavic sealants. All of them were better, and my number 1 is orange seal.

That staff seals everything without losing pressure at all. Finish line sealant is cleaner to work with, it won’t dry out and is easy to clean, but cannot do the most important thing. Sealing punctures without losing pressure.

Outstanding safety measure everyone should get for any tire that holds air, be it a tubed or tubeless tire, I bought a bunch of bottles of the product called “slime” just to find out that this product is so much better! I am just pleased that I found this product before I used the Slime stuff.

If you own an electric bike and do not have this stuff installed then I, Highly, suggest you buy and carry a few tubes or patch kits as well as the tools needed do repairs, or you can just buy a bottle of this Flatout and place half the bottle in each tire, and watch how your life gets so much better.

This Product will save you a lot! I also am using it for my ,fast, Scooter (electric) as well as my lawn tractor. Get it you will not regret it.

Okay I’m going to keep this real. I believe it’s a really good product BUT, I am not able to use it the way I thought I could. Multiple times my smaller front zero turn wheel ketp going flat about every 3 months.

Anyway the tire guys were saying, the problem is with the tire bead losing air around the rim and this stuff would be useless to fix that. They put a glue on it and I hope it fixes it.

Been taking long ebike rides since buying my bike. Had a slow leak in the rear tire recently and limped the bike home. Found a smal staple had penetrated the tire. Found this product on YouTube and like the results people were having.

My Continental UST Trail King tyres became porous over time, and were loosing air, mostly through the sidewall. They would be flat in 2 days. I followed the advice on Continental’s Youtube channel for use of the sealant, and its been weeks and I haven’t had to re-inflate either tyre yet.

A bit labour intensive to prepare the tyres and distribute the sealant the way Continental suggests, but worth the effort. The tyres I use are quite puncture resistant, but no doubt in my mind the sealant would work great for sealing holes from thorns/nails/glass etc.

Worth every last cent!.

This is all they had at the airport bike shop and I needed to convert to tubeless so in it went with gorilla tape as rim tabe on non-tubeless touring rims and low rolling resistance Schwalbes. Bike, rider and gear 300+ lbs loaded on and off pavement touring, some single track and hit a lot of nasty potholes loaded at high speed over lots of glass and debris at times.

over 4000kms and not a problem. Could have been lucky but I’m definitely buying this again for my next bike. :).

Part of the describtion states – “provides reliable sealing for punctures and small cuts” But no where on the box does it say this. Instead it says to pour into the valve on tubeless tryes. Confusing to say the least!.

I’ve tried quite a few different sealants over the last several years, and after a couple thousand miles, I’ve concluded Orange Seal Regular is the best overall seal on the market. How well? Since putting it in my tires eight months ago, riding hundreds of miles over varying terrain, in a few different regions of the country, I haven’t had a single flat.

Granted, some of that is due to quality tire casing, and I’m not a super endurance rider going hard 100 miles a week, or endlessly bombing rock gardens. But as I look closely at the tire, I’ve had dozens and dozens of tiny punctures, and a few small punctures, that the sealant simply, quickly, efficiently and completely sealed.

Orange says this Regular is capable of sealing punctures up to 1/4-inch as well as slices up to 3/4-inch. I think my biggest puncture is maybe half of that, and the sealant worked so well I may have lost as little as 1psi.

This may be due to my riding style (old school XC guy), but I have ridden over my share of rocks in New England, Arizona. Here’s another key. Orange says the Regular has an average sealant life of 30-45 days.

Then, you need to at least top it off, if not pull the tire, get rid of the old seal, and put new sealant in. The very experienced mechanic that sold me on this said that was too conservative, and it lasted longer.

As a test I thought I’d try to just ride until I got a true, complete flat. Well, about 200 days later, I still haven’t crossed that threshold. A good 5+ times longer than Orange says it will hold up.

I wouldn’t recommend this for everyone, but my point is it holds up very well, and you can likely last a few hundred miles over a couple months before it truly needs to be topped off of changed. Impressive stuff!.

I’ve been riding on Orange Seal Endurance for about a year now. My favorite thing about this sealant so far is this: when I replaced my old tubeless tires last month for a new set of tubeless tires, instead of dumping out the old Orange Seal Endurance and throwing it away, I just scooped the old sealant out of the old tires, poured it into the new tires, added a little more to get it to the right depth, pumped them up, and they were good to go.

I’ve been riding them since without any problems. Endurance Orange is re-bicycle-able.

I used Stan’s for many years back when I rode every chance I could. As long as you were going thru tires and fiddling with your bike it was okay for tubeless and puncture flats. It always dries out and leaves a mess inside the tire and is annoying to wonder if you should add more.

I decided to build up an Ebike and didn’t want to use Stan’s again so I researched to see if there was anything better on the market. This stuff is perfect in every way. I still had a half bottle of Stan’s left, but didn’t want to use it on a new build.

I never have to wonder if it’s dried out and no longer able to prevent a flat. You won’t regret buying this tire sealant over your current brand.

All my bikes are tubeless now, so couple of these to put in my mobile tool kits. Expensive of course compared to bulk, but like a bottle of water at the gas station, paying a premium for convenience of a single serving.

Totally worth it. Get a bulk bottle for your workshop though, right?.

I live in a remote town with no bike shop and an alarming amount of what people in the South Western US call “goat-heads”. These hard, tiny seeds have sharp spines that will flat your tire as soon as you step out the door.

I tried every trick in the book before I found Stans and nothing worked. Now I use Stans both on tubeless setups and with tubes and flats are a thing of the past. I ride over goat-heads for fun and laugh while the Stans sealant does it’s work to patch every puncture.

It’s a beautiful thing and I’m grateful that this product is in my arsenal.

I purchased the 2 oz for the bottles. I have a 32 oz that I use to refill these for on the road in case I need them. I was going to buy more but over priced for 2 oz stan’s. should be about 1 dollar an ounce but we don’t have the bottle to configure in on the price so Really a good buy if you need to get free shipping included.

Bought this product as I have arthritis in hands and have trouble changing or repairing punctured tyres on the road, Have not had to use product as yet, but have attached to bike frame and ready to go when puncture occurs.

Have it in my bike all the time. Just Incase I get a puncture. I dont get any for ages then end up getting 2/3 within a few weeks

It I didn’t work for me cause the hole was too big. Doesn’t work on pinch flats

Had a leak on the front tire of my tractor. After the second application it sealed the leak. Only problem is the chart doesn’t give instructions on anything larger than a lawn mower/tractor tire which calls for 8 ounces.

My Ford tractor tire is 16 inch and I was having to air it up once a week. So I tried 21 pumps (21 ounces) and the leak was slowed but not sealed. So a few days later I went another 21 pumps and now its sealed and holding good.

Product does work but on larger tires it is a guess on how many ounces is needed.

this stuff works! Picked up a thorn in my gravel bike’s tire, heard it blow and it coated my downtube with green slime, then nothing. Probably only lost about 5 psi before it sealed the tube, and I made it 20 miles home with no further pressure loss.

I’m putting in my wife and kids bikes and my sidecar motorcycle’s tube tires. The price on a gallon is only a couple bucks more than most places charge for 32oz.

never got to use it, it sat on my living room rug and before i noticed it , it had leaked all over my living room rug. i’ve learned not to order things that wont withstand walmart delivery, but i thought i would try just this once.

its my own fault. i knew better. that was an expensive lesson.

This is a difficult product to review as only time can tell if it does what it claims, However I have used slime before and can say that after a year or so of having slime in my inner tubes I removed the tube to find that it had got me through multiple punctures which I had not been aware of.

The tell tale signs are that there were small green stains on the tube showing that the punctures had been sealed by the product. therefore I purchased the product with the knowledge that it works. It does not however protect the tube from punctures resulting from rough edges on the rim or any tares from the spokes but then nobody would expect that so be sure to check the wheel before inserting.

Anyone trying to decide between slime and protective tape should be aware that the tape will actually cause punctures if the tire pressure drops resulting in the tape pinching the tube. On the whole I would say that Slime is a winner which I strongly recommend to those who hate kneeling in the gutter with greasy hands.

amazing is the word. had several punctures riding country lanes where your tyres can pick up hedgerow thorns one after the other so decided to try slime. after 18 months, no punctures and also lost no tyre pressures.

it really is good stuff. i purchased another two bottles of slime for my two sons who are into biking they both say the same. brilliant piece of kit, but it deserves a better name. sorry.

There is a little tool built into the plastic cap which is used to remove the valve from the inner tube. You’re supposed to then pour some fluid into the inner tube. Problem is the plastic tool isn’t tough enough to remove a tightly fitted valve and just doesn’t work, making the product useless.

I’m looking for a metal tool to buy separately. In the past green slime for puncture prevention has worked well for me but the inner tubes have been prefilled. Hopefully can get it working soon.

Used these with my new WTB tires, never could get the tire to seal and hold air. Don’t use this unless you want a part time job as and air compressor. Replace Stans with Orange sealant and problem resolved.

Just the unused bottle in my truck to return it and even the container leaked with the cap screwed tight.

Works great. Did a test with an old tire: pinching a hole with a needle was closed within 30 seconds. Pinching a hole with a nail 3 mm closed within 2 minutes, leaving 3 bar left. Had a flat tire once that did not close.

Reason was a big piece of glass that was still present in the tire. After removing it, riding along and pumping 6 times, it closed in the end with the little bit of sealant that was left in the tire.
