Well to be honest with you I’m giving it a three-star rating because of the price Giant is selling it for $7 for a 6 oz can. That’s incredible but like everything else is going up. And they’re sardines are like 3.
59 or $4 a can. I mean again I know things are expensive but that’s a lot more than the better tunas and sardines. Right now I’m paying $2. 89 for the good it’s another brand but it’s top of the line tuna fish.
Henry & Lisa’s Natural Seafood Solid White Albacore Tuna (very low sodium) is a true gourmet treat. It is delicious. Because it is a bit pricey for my budget ( the quality warrants the price) I save this as a treat.
I do not eat land animals and only very little dairy, so I rely on a mostly plant sourced diet and some fish, usually small fish like sardines. But I splurge on occasion for fresh pacific salmon, some canned alaskan salmon & some canned tuna.
When I do I am willing to pay for quality. I am on a salt-restricted diet and that this is offered as a very low sodium product makes it perfect. This tuna is so good I serve it just as is with a side vegetable and a salad; it is a wonderful meal.
This is a great product. I like to have one or two servings of salmon per week for Omega 3’s. I mostly make a salmon salad (like tuna salad) but sometimes put it in a stir fry. This is high quality, from what I can tell.

I haven’t had one of these pouches before so I have nothing to compare it to pouch wise. I usually do canned tuna with some Mayo but I opted for this to try something new. I was going to do it with a salad (but forgot to buy the salad stuff).
It’s not too spicy which is nice. It does have a light kick to it. It did not really taste sweet to me at all. It seemed a little dry but also not. It was odd. There was some moisture to it but it still felt like it needed more.
The flavor was okay. I’m not sure id get this again just because there wasn’t a bug flavor to it other than the light kick of spice. I think for the nutritional value and convenience it’s worth it’s price.
It was super easy to eat with a fork and I could see these being simple to take a long as a quick bite. I’m just not super impressed with it. The price, nutritional value, and convenience is why I gave it 4 stars.
I have been eating Starkist tuna since I was a little kid. It was the only kind my family ever purchased. Over the past year or two, I notice it has way more scaly, dark chunks in the package and the taste is different to me as well.
My most recent purchase I couldn’t even eat it. Will not be buying again. I have tried target’s brand and have had much better experience and will only be purchasing that brand moving forward.
This is ok. I’m not a huge tuna fan but I keep pouches in my desk for “emergencies” like today. It’s a very light lunch, but it’ll work. The spiciness is good. It’s sweet too. This helps mask the tuna flavor.
If you like sweet and spice worth a shot. ***Note: Influenster is marking this as sugar free. It is NOT sugar free. I’ve added the ingredients/nutrition panel to the media.
Since 1891, Ortiz have dedicated themselves to the preparation of the highest quality canned seafood. Using only artisanal methods, always taking care to preserve the art of fishing, the origin and the freshness of the fish.
Ortiz White tuna are individually line caught with live bait or fly during the coastal fishing season. This age-old technique of selective fishing (which also avoids unwanted fish being discarded) respects the environment and protects marine reserves.
Hand packed in fine fillets these belly fillets are a delicacy prized by the most expert palates.
This is probably some of the best canned tuna your likely to eat. It is expensive so not something you probably would eat as an everyday protein source. But If your a fan of gourmet canned tuna and want to treat yourself then pick up a few cans for those special occasions.
The regular Ortiz white Bonito tuna in the round can/yellow box is also excellent and less than half the price.
This is well worth the price. It is the perfect balance of flavor, texture, color, and aroma. I planned to use it in a casserole but as soon as I opened the container I knew that would hide the flavor.
I served it as a side for a salad of greens with a simple oil and vinegar dressing. The only problem was not having enough!!.
Wild Caught. Hand Picked. Dolphin Safe. Non GMO Project Verified. Gluten Free. The perfect mix between exquisite yellow fin tuna and the purest olive oil you’ve ever tried.
I gave my dog a piece of the tuna while preparing it and 1 hour later he begged to go outside and proceeded to eat grass like crazy then threw up 3 times. The tuna seemed a little dry, very little watee came out of the can when I opened it.
I proceeded to inspect the rest of the cans. They had dirt and water spots on the bottom of the cans like they had been repackaged. The exp date was 2024, but something happened to them while waiting to be bought.
I threw out the sandwich I made for my husband and thank God he didn’t eat it for lunch while at work. My dog has recovered but never again will I buy canned tuna.
Folks you have got to buy the Kirkland brand Tuna Fish!! I was a fan of the Bumblebee product for years however, there tuna is no longer the chunk style tuna as before. I purchased several 8 pack cans and each one had mushy bits of tuna with a lot of water!!! It was something I wouldn’t even feed a Cat!! I don’t know what happened to the Bumblebee product, don’t waste your hard earn dollars on buying it!! The Kirkland brand is the way to go if you like your Tuna chunky and tasty!!!!!!!!!!.
Good stuff right here. Large sized cans can feed for 2. The Albacore is good cuts. No skin or bones in most cans I buy. I like to keep this on hand for emergency back up food as well. Tuna is a great addition to a low calorie diet.
Henry & lisas natural seafood canned albacore tuna, sashimi comes from family fishers in the pacific northwest troll fishery (hook and line). This method of fishing does not pose a risk to other common by-catch of non-targeted species.
The tuna tenderloin is premium sashimi grade and cooked. Includes one 5 oz.
I just bought a few cans of this because the price is higher than other canned salmon, but I was really attracted to the fact that it’s a BPA-free can. The Taste is so delicious, very moist and fresh, not overly salty like many canned foods.
No added chemicals in the canning, no hormones given to the fish. I like that this salmon is MSC certified sustainable, and wild caught by local fishers.
I discovered this salmon a few years ago and am so happy I did. The taste is great right out of the can or way you chose to prepare it. Other canned salmons don’t even come close to Henry & Lisa’s, and I never particularly liked canned salmon until I tasted theirs.
Just bought for my husband, and never found a brand he liked until this one. The company prides itself on bringing healthy, sustainable fish to their customers with no unhealthy additives. That’s just what I want.

If you choose to cook these instead, they are perfect for the grill.
My order arrived within a couple of days. It was still completely frozen with ample dry ice remaining in the pack, so the shipping process was excellent in my opinion. I kept the portions in my freezer for about 7 days prior to thawing.
I thawed the portions in the refrigerator for about 24 hours prior to consumption. They were completely thawed by that time. The salmon was excellent in every respect. Both taste and texture exceeded my expectations.
The tuna had a slight fishy smell which I was not expecting, but was good otherwise. I would try the variety pack again for the salmon alone. I would be willing to give the tuna a second chance.
Come on Guys (Gals) This is my third order from Oceanside Seafood, and as always, it arrived perfectly. This was my first attempt at sushi and sashimi. Even though I consider myself an amateur chef wannabe.
The results were exceptional and the fish was freshest, way beyond my expectation. Love your products and your business. Of course we’ll continue to order from Oceanside. Raving Fans here.

Since I live in the top North of NY and we are two hours + away from any of the national delivery service offices, I had low expectations the food would arrive frozen, but we were going through Sushi-withdrawal.
I was pleasantly surprised when the Tuna arrived frozen solid, and well packed. We has a family Sushi night in a few days and the Tuna was exceptional. The taste and texture were perfect. Will definitely be buying again.
During this pandemic I honestly don’t feel comfortable ordering sushi from a restaurant so this is an amazing alternative ! The tuna and the salmon are amazing and I will definitely order again !

Wow Wow Wow. the tuna is fantastic! Just had a tuna steak for dinner last evening, salt / pepper / dash of garlic salt and it hits the grill. Have to watch the cooking time as you do not what to overcook.
The cuts are perfect in size and either accompanied by some green beans or a baked potato or both and you have an outstanding meal for yourself, family of friends.
This tuna was delicious. Sometimes frozen fish is mushy, dry or favor-less. This yellow fin was not. We sautéed it slightly in butter & herbs but it would be great prepared anyway. On my list to re-order.

Great protein content for the price. Thank you for keeping your tuna affordable. This price level is what keeps me buying the product. I enjoy the taste of some of the selections you guys have sent as free samples.
Like the crackers and canned spicy tuna. That was a good combo.
Excellent quality and flavour. On the ‘tuna spectrum,’ it’s closer to high-end restaurant tuna steak than deli tuna salad. It seems more expensive than other brands, but actually, this is how much tuna should cost: Tuna isn’t the ‘chicken of the sea’ or a limitless resource, and over-fishing tuna has been disastrous for our ocean ecosystems.
We should pay for and treat tuna like what it really is: an occasional treat to splurge on, not a ubiquitous staple.

I received Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna to try for an honest review and it was great! It’s almost like a fish steak in a can the pieces of tuna are so big. Not minced little pieces like others I have tried.
Wild Planet sources 100% pole and line caught tuna. The hand-selected tuna is cooked just once to retain its natural juices and pristine flavor, without any additives or fillers. Because of this you don’t need to drain the can, you just mix and enjoy! It is on the pricier side, but like with most things in life, with higher quality, comes a higher price.
They really are a great company. Worth checking out.
Let me start out by saying that I don’t normally eat meat of any kind out a can so this was new for me. I was also very glad I did. It was wonderful. It’s not at all fishy tasting and it’s just so flaky.
Not like other Tuna I have seen all squished In a can of oil. This is just pure hand packed tuna with no water , oil, or filler added. You sure can tell it’s of a higher standard than most. 🐟 Made from sustainably pole and line caught 100% pure tuna and sea salt.
No fillers added. All omega 3’s are retained. AVC 374mg EPA and DHA Omega 3’s per serving. 🐟 Very high in protein-nonadded sugar or alcohol-no artificial ingredients-and completely shelf stable. 🐟 All around great product at a terrific value.
I would recommend it to anyone. 🐟 You can find more news and information at wildplanetfoods. com @wildplanetfoods #wildplanettuna #wildplanetfoods #handpacked #tuna #nofillers #sustainability #100%pure #poleandlinecaught #highinprotein #noaddedsugar #shelfstable #noartificialingredients #omega3’s #healthyfood #yummyfood #flaky #freshtasting.

When I received this tuna I thought it was going to taste just like all the other tunas I’ve ever had. But when I opened the package I could tell right away that it would taste differently. This tuna tasted so fresh and didn’t have that overly fishy taste.
It was so good that even my kids 8 and 5 ate it straight out of the package. It was extremely delicious my oldest even asked me to buy more so she could eat it out of the package.

Crown Prince Natural Solid White Albacore Tuna is considered the highest quality tuna available in a can. The meat is light in color and firm in texture without a lot of sediment. One serving of Albacore Tuna provides about one-third of the daily needed protein with very little fat.
Our larger sized cans are perfect for feeding the whole family a low-fat nutritious meal and are available with or without added salt. Marine Stewardship Council certified. Try this dolphin safe tuna in your next casserole salad or sandwich.
I make a delicious fish sandwich using: 1 can Crown Prince tuna in water, 1 can sardines, about 5 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1/4 cup mild onion diced, 1 small dill pickle diced.
Everything is mixed together. Then I spread a little Mayo on one slice of all grain bread and I slather the fish mixture on the second slice of bread. I top it with crisp lettuce or thinly sliced cabbage, whichever I have on hand.
Yum! Yum! If you decide to try this recipe, it’s an easy recipe to adjust. For instance, replace the dill pickle with a sweeter pickle. Or leave out the onion. Add celery or olives. Season with garlic salt, pepper, or a salt free seasoning like the Braggs seasoning blend available here on Vitacost.
I was happy that it was not full of water. After draining out the water, there was 4. 7 oz of tuna. With the cheaper brands, I yield 2. 7-3. 5 oz of tuna after draining the water. The tuna had a good flavor as if canned while the tuna was fresh.
The tuna didn’t have an over powering smell. There was enough tuna to make two sandwiches. I would buy this again.
Sam’s Choice Frozen Ahi Tuna Steaks are wild caught and sustainably sourced. Ahi Tuna has a mild taste and a firm texture which adapts to numerous cooking methods. You can pan sear it, broil it, or grill it and serve it seared rare for a culinary masterpiece.
Serve it with steamed veggies, on top of a salad, or brown rice for a delicious well-rounded meal. The tuna is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, potassium, vitamin C, and selenium.
I am kind of shocked at seeing any bad reviews about this item. I love, love, love these tuna steaks! I used to buy my tuna fresh from an asian seafood market but when I found these, they were just as good! I am by no means an aficionado of seafood, but I love sushi and love fresh tuna and I eat it often.
I love to lightly sear these with a little seasoning on the outside and they can’t be beat. I know some people think sushi and fresh/frozen fish isn’t good unless you pay a lot of money for it. I believe if you serve these the right way, they stand up to any moderatly priced tuna steaks you can find.
I am glad that not everyone likes them because sometimes they are hard to find. They recently re-appeared after not being able to find them for a few months. Hopefully they are back to stay for awhile.
Surprised with the bad reviews. This is the best frozen tuna steaks I have used. Thaws well and tastes great cooked rare. Much better than their pink salmon which I would not recommend to anyone.
I’ve had ahi tuna in various restaurants, and let me say that this particular brand is extremely fishy even when cooked. It smells fishy and is not fresh. I’m afraid to eat the rest of it. Ahi tuna is a milder tuna.
and no fresh fish (even if flash frozen) should smell like a fisherman’s boat. I wish I had never bought this. I’ll be making sure my tuna is sushi grade from now on. This was just horrendous.
Although we live in “deep” SW Florida, we enjoy the fresh fish you provide us. Sometimes, we wish that we knew how to better prepare the wonderful fish you send us. Such was the case with the yellowfin tuna.
The taste was spectacular no doubt; but somehow, it was “chewy” even though it was not overcooked.
On the freshness scale this rates an OMG! It was so tasty and the texture was great. I seared it rare in toasted sesame oil with lemon zest and pepper. Love love loved it. I thought the price was a little high until eating it.
For all you tuna lovers this should appear to you though I personally have just a couple issues. I don’t have these often just something for me to have if I need food and can’t or don’t want to cook.
So as for the taste they a good and the amount you get for the amount of crackers you get is perfect. I actually have a little tuna left after fixing up the crackers. Price well depends on your thoughts of what you pay for stuff.
For me they are a little pricey especially when I could just get a can of tuna and crackers. I already would have mayo and relish in the fridge. This way I would have many many snack kits this way. But yeah I don’t do this.
No on to the couple issue I have. First is the little container you are provided to mix up your tuna, mayo and relish. It is just big enough to fit everything in with very little room to mix. So you have to be careful not to mix to fast and spill.
Then second is the little stir stick it made out of wood and it give you an awful feeling if you put it in your mouth. It would be nice if they would make it out of plastic. But all in all I do like these.
This brand/version of Chunk Light Tuna has been in my pantry, and my mom’s pantry since I can remember. This brand has never failed me, and honestly doesn’t have a strong “fish” smell when the cans opened.
I love mixing my Tuna with Tapatio Salsa Picante Hot Sauce, 10 oz – (6-(Pack)) and some for a good punch with a nice creamy base. Add some on a and you’ll be one happy, sandwich loving camper!.
StarKist canned tuna has been one of my pantry staples for years. It’s affordable, versatile, and delicious. The tuna is delicate and flaky, without the overly strong “fishy” flavor other canned fish can have.
I love to keep i StarKist on hand for easy meals such as pasta salads, tuna croquettes, and good ol’ tuna melts. I highly recommend this as a go-to for those times when you just don’t want to cook, want something quick and easy or need inspiration!.
When it comes to sushi, tuna is one of the most popular fish used. Its pinkish red flesh is firm, yet fatty and rich in flavor. When preparing tuna for sushi, it is important to use sushi-grade fish, which has been frozen to -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit) to kill parasites.
The flesh should also be cut into very thin slices, so that it can be rolled up into sushi rolls or formed into nigiri sushi.
Tuna is a versatile fish that can be used in many different types of sushi. It is commonly used in nigiri sushi, where slices of fish are placed on top of sushi rice, as well as in sushi rolls. When making sushi rolls, the tuna is usually combined with other ingredients, such as cucumber, avocado, or salmon.
Tuna is a healthy choice for sushi, as it is a lean protein that is low in calories. It is also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health. If you are looking for a delicious and healthy sushi option, tuna is a great choice.
