20 Best Tune For Wrx (2022 Updated)

No beating around the bush here: get your Cobb Accessport from MAPerformance. I have a 2015 WRX Limited with 93k on the clock, never tuned/flashed. Until now. I did try the Cobb OTS Stage 1 91 octane tune and it did smooth out the power delivery, no more rev hang on 1-2 shifts and parking lot driving is much more tolerable (no more launching when pressing accelerator pedal), but it did cause DAM to drop occasionally.

After 1k miles I then flashed to MAPerformance Stage 1 91 octane tune and was immediately blown away by the difference. Power is much more linear and deeper in the MAP than the stock tune/Cobb OTS 91 and pulls hard way past 4500 like the stock tune.

Huge thank you to MAPerformace for tossing in their Stage 1 tune when you purchase from them. It is definitely the tune I’ll be keeping on the car. I must also mention the fast shipping. I ordered on a Thursday and my Accessport arrived on Saturday! Bottom line, don’t be afraid to tune your FA20DIT, just get the tune from MAPerformance.

You’ve read the other reviews. the ones telling you this is the best 1st mod out there, “do it now,” “what are you waiting for,” etc. But you might still be wondering if it’s a good idea for you personally.

? Well, even though we’ve never met, the fact that you’re here looking up mods for your performance awd sedan tells me you’re probably the exact kind of person that would benefit from something like this 😀 It’s easy.

I mean, real easy! I was a nervous Nelly the first time I flashed my ECU; it was 2 minutes of straight terror. Not because it was complicated or hard, but because I’ve just got a little but of worry in my DNA.

But then it was over. 2 minutes of stress + MAP personalized OTS Map = at least 20HP gain to the wheels. I didn’t expect to be smiling nearly as much as I was on my way to work. It was worth every penny for the first pull alone! Getting to feel my car absolutely come alive like it never had before was an absolute treat.

I’ve always loved my 16 WRX, but it’s even more special now. If you’re still reading this, thank you for coming to my TED Talk. I’d kindly recommend you read through the Accessport Installation Instructions next, cause it’s probably already in your cart.

After putting aside the idea of buy this AP, i finally got one from maperformence and got their 91 ots tune as well. The reflash took less than 30 minutes. I baby my car around for a few day made sure everything are running smoothly.

After a few day and some butt dyno, i had noticed my fuel economy went down (no sure if the 90 to 115 degree cause the fuel to dip) i usually get up to 35 mpg on the highway (not freeway) without ac but now it can only get to 32 max.

The power curve is smooth out and goes over 5000. Before the turbo would give me a quick kick right before 4000 then die after 4500. Now the turbo kick in after 3000 and the boost continually running to 5000.

Max boost was 18. 4 psi with 3rd gear, it may get higher once the temp cool down. My car is a stock 2020 wrx premium. Without AC the shifting between gears are so much smoother.

Honestly I’m not sure why I never went this route before. I usually just got my bike ready. By putting the air smog plates in upgraded the filter and changed the oil then handed it to a tuner. What’s cool is that I’m getting everything in steps and each upgrade feels like a whole new bike.

Definitely a product worth getting if you feel like your lacking. In power or performance. Did I mention the options? They have a map for all the major exhausts and the Dynojet team is ALWAYS there for you if you get confused or even just need advice.

Thanks 2Wheel for being so cool to your customers by working with company’s like affirm; allowing us to get premium gear without having to kill ourselves trying to obtain it. Or worse. not even think about it.

It was hard to use in the beginning. Not everyone is used to using this type of hardware on a motorcycle. It took some time to sit down and figure out how to actually use the 5. DynoJet is a big help, as well.

Always wiling to help day or night. Read the directions slowly and ask questions until you get used to using the product. Your bike is always evolving and it’s a lot of fun to mix things up and improve you bike here and there!!.

I bought this for my V-Rod Muscle after installing the Vance and Hines slip-ons. It was easy to install and hide underneath the rear fender/ seat and the process to push maps to the tuner was made easy thanks to the Dynojet website.

Not only did it reduce my decel popping my bike had but the power output after the tune install was great. Definitely a noticeable difference in the performance of my V-Rod. I recommend this to anyone looking for an easy power upgrade to their bike.

IšverstiShow in original languageSeems to function as advertised so far. Price seems a little high and I do not like the red lighting it emits while ignition on and operating. I hope it saves me from replacing labor intensive lifter/cam replacement until I get the truck paid of.

After that it’s time to perform total AFM delete. I think Summit offers a kit with all the necessary parts to do so. I gave four stars because I haven’t had it long enough to really find fault.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis was a refurbished product. Easy install and removal ( thank you ) but did not work to good. 2014 4. 3 silverado. Did not last for 50 miles. Ran about 30 miles and turned corner started to accelerate and the engine died was unable to start till removal.

five min. later it started and ran good enough to get me to work I mean it was not bad running but it was not standard running by any mean ( slow sluggish ). After getting to work I disconnected battery for eight hours and hope it would come back to what it was , and it did same old slow to respond and shaking at speed when the fuel management system kicked in.

Hope the full price one are better but I don’t know. Time to trade to a older foreign trk like toyota or nessan.

It responds better underfoot on the highway and I don’t get that buzzy weird feeling going down the road when it’d shift to the 4 cylinder mode.

there’ll be no more of that. It seems to have helped the hunting and picking for a gear at lower speeds. I’m not sure about the gas mileage, but that is not why I bought it. It does what they say it’ll do.

I’m very happy with it. It is amazing that something that takes literally seconds to install can make that much difference.

Installed with no issues up until the point of installing the exhaust tips. All 4 tips wobble because they updated the design of the clamping system and made it integrated onto the tips instead of separate clamps.

One of the bolts/nuts stripped because I couldn’t get it to tighten down without wobbling and then I soon realized all 4 tips were the same way. Tried different bolts and nuts to tighten them down more but eventually ended up shearing the head off the new bolt.

Currently riding around with no tips until hopefully there is a resolution to this issue. The new clamp design honestly wouldn’t even be an issue if the expanded the exhaust pipe tips at the end to make the tips more snug when sliding them on.

There is currently a 1/4” gap of play on the tips. Go with a different brand is all I can recommend. Unless they end up updating the design.

I went with the AWE Touring edition after I installed a catless down pipe and found out my nameless Catback with deletes was way too annoying. The AWE takes the edge off the volume while still sounding amazing.

Drone has been nearly eliminated. I know you need to break it in for about a 1000 miles but I can already tell I made a great choice. Install was pretty straight forward and the black tips look great.

I spent 6 months chasing ghosts. Misfire under load and boost conditions. Checked crank, cam, knock sensors, also injectors and coils. Swapped in new NGK 1 step colder plugs(gapped to. 028), new MAF sensor(due to intermittent code), & O2 sensor.

Pulled apart wiring, check continuity and voltage from injectors, coils, 02, maf, map sensors, etc. Months of testing and swapping components, only to find out the $300 dollar stumble fix actually caused me full on misfires! SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY, just get a good aftermarket regulator and rail setup for your Suby STi.

I’m utterly appalled at the amount of time, effort, and money I wasted, while making an assumption that it couldn’t be Cobbs brand new part. Cobb is quite set on their 30 day warranty, too bad i spent months assuming they had a quality product.

Their support team is fantastic, they’re company warranty is abysmal.

What’s more to say this kit really does work but sheesh are they proud of it! When it comes to messing around with fuel though be sure you are 100% confident in a DIY or other solution before you decide to discount the Cobb kit.

Everything in this kit is high quality and well assembled and they did the research on the boost source cause oscillations in the FPR signal so at least you know they did their homework. I installed the kit (not without my own bonehead fuel-spraying adventures) and used Accesstuner Race to balance out the load compensation tables to get me by until my protune.

Definitely smoothed out the low RPM acceleration significantly even though I have a 2016 STI and you’d think Subaru would have resolved this by now! Can’t go wrong ordering from SMY. reach out to them with any questions or concerns and they get back to you quickly and are 100% committed to your satisfaction.

Bought this product about 1. 5 years ago. The products quality is top notch, but should NOT be considered a fuel stumble fix. It definitely does not do that whatsoever. I love Cobb’s products and their quality, but after being tuned twice, once for basic bolt-ons and another time for an upgraded stock location turbo, and the fuel stumble is still there.

Honestly I expected more from Cobb on this product, but I honestly can’t wait to throw this in the trash and replace it with a quality FPR and be rid of this issue for good.

I recently just purchased this intake for my 2002 WRX and have fell in love with it! It looks awesome and the quality is solid! I was skeptical at first just from all the bad reviews I read about aftermarket intakes.

However, after reading reviews and quality about COBB I was sold. My air flow map on my accessport reads exactly what it was with my stock intake and tune I have. First thing I noticed was of course the sound, with a very noticable spooling sound from the turbo! The torque and response in the low end is defiantly a positive too.

It took me about 15 mins to put together, get on the car and drive off! I would recommend to anyone wantkng to buy this product!.

2005 STI w/ catback exhaust and upgraded radiator. The install was a bit of a headache only because there was a lot more junk stuffed in the fender than I had originally thought. No wonder why the stock intake is so restrictive.

I’m impressed that such a small part could make such an improvement and replace so many parts. This thing is super loud and sounds great. You can definitely hear the stock BPV now so you don’t even need a blow off valve.

Great product and highly recommended. Another plus was that I didn’t need a tune and no CELs!!.

Bought this intake about a month ago and it is amazing. I mean you don’t hear much until about 2300-2500 RPM and if you are on the gas be ready. It sounds like you have a monster taking in deep breaths under your hood.

I hardly ever have my music playing now because i love hearing that sound. just straight sucking!! And on the plus side it’s a very easy install. Only took about 20-30 minutes. Great product. Great quality.

My next purchase will be the accessport for my wonderful subie.

I’ve had my accessport for a few months now. Overall, I’d say it’s worth the price tag, but the quality isn’t very good and some things that are included are flat out junk. For those of you who don’t like reading, it’s great for its intended purpose which is tuning your car with off the shelf maps, but feels cheaper than a Nintendo DS.

For those who want to know what they’re buying, I’ve gone into greater detail below: The good: Tunes amazingly. You can completely reflash the ECU in about 30 seconds or you can real-time reflash it (which is kinda like a temporary flash, great for testing new stuff out) which takes about 5 seconds.

The amount of features packed into the tiny thing is pretty amazing. Cobb has a huge assortment of tunes on their website for you to use, and you can even make your own once you take their class. You can adjust idle RPMs which has been great for me because I have an aftermarket flywheel.

It’s got launch control if you’re into that sort of thing and the data logging feature allows you to monitor whatever you want. (You’re gonna want a third party software to open the data log file though, but there are plenty of free ones out there) Want to check your 0-60 time? Your quarter mile? It’s got a feature for that.

I always knew that it would read and translate check engine lights for you which instantly (in my eyes) makes it worth about $300 alone, but I recently found out that for a lot of codes by clicking the option button, Cobb has wrote a little paragraph explaining why this code might have been caused, whether or not it’s a big deal, and what you can do to fix it.

Thank you whoever added that, because dang, what a great feature. I’ve even heard that they’re working on a virtual dyno mode update for this accessport in the future. It comes with all the connectors and cords you need (including a more than long enough OBDII cord) and simple enough instructions that makes it pretty easy to install.

(Took me about 10 minutes. I find wiring it through the steering column and out the lever part on the left side works for me best) I’ve heard plenty of stories of these things getting stolen, which is why I’m glad they made the back magnetic.

It sticks to the provided stand allowing you to grab it easily and hide it wherever. I’d take it off every time if I wasn’t worried about damaging the cord because of repeated every day use. The bad: It doesn’t hold up to Cobb usual quality standards, especially for $675.

For example, one of my buttons is stiffer than the others. It feels pretty lightweight and cheap. (Probably because there’s no battery in it) The provided stand doesn’t angle enough to be useful and looks like it costs $0.

50 to make. I actually had to replace the adhesive that sticks to the dashboard because the one it came with was absolute junk and wasn’t strong enough to hold the accessport. You can buy a stand that goes over your defroster vent, but I think it’s about $50.

The faceplate is interesting. Still haven’t been able to get mine off to see it with the other provided faceplate and ended up scratching the heck out of the accessport trying to get it off. You have to take an online class to make your own tunes which is bearable, but is a must know for new buyers.

The interface looks pretty dated but works fine. It would be really cool to see some customized gauges in the future so I can set my boost control to look like an analog gauge. Considering there’s nothing like it on the market, I’d recommend, but I hope Perrin comes out with something like it so Cobb steps up the quality a bit.

I installed this just today and wanted to make sure I gave a review right away since everything is fresh. Car runs very, very well. After about 10 minutes of warming up the car, you can really feel the difference in boost response.

Spool comes on much quicker and stays strong throughout the powerband. Also, it requires a bit more gas input to get things spooling (a good thing), vs the factory tune which seemed to dump gas right away and not spool up even 50% the amount Cobb Stage 1 Tune does.

The stock tune always made the engine feel very stressed at higher rpms and I would always feel uncomfortable doing higher rpm pulls. With the Cobb tune I feel confident the engine can handle it. Highway cruising speed is also much better, even with the short gearing of the 5 speed.

With the stock tune I would feel like I needed 1 more gear to be comfortable at 80mph, but now it cruises at 80 at a much lower rpm Very interested to see what stage 2+ feels like in the future ________________________________ As for install, it was very easy short of having to connect and later disconnect the initializer connectors.

I always have trouble with connectors because I am a large framed man with large hands and can’t get enough torque on the connectors to disconnect. I would suggest having someone do this part for you if you know this is a problem.

Lets be honest, its a little pricey but yes i promise its worth it! I went stage 2 with catless downpipe and uppipe, and a cat back exhaust. I also have a cobb intake. Untuned the car felt sluggish. But with the cobb stage 2 93 ots, she feels so much better! A bugeye wagon! Feeling fast! Seems sort of a dream.

I cant wait for a protune. If you want the perfect setup for the 6 gauges, i highly recommend Boost, Air fuel ratio, Exhaust gas temps, Dyn adv multi, Feedback Knock, Fine knock learn. I like to switch egt with intake sometimes, and when i run economy i like to switch it to gas % and mpg.

Whats great too is launch control (NOT RECOMMENDED ON SUBARU 5SPDS THEY ARE KNOWN TO BLOW FROM LAUNCHING) And being able to adjust your timing in the blink of an eye!! Sometimes you just get bad gas and need to change the timing just a little to keep you safe.

This pretty device also has the ability to accurately calculate your 0-60, and your quarter mile! Ofcourse, only use these on a closed track (in the neighborbood).

Was a night and day difference between this and the stock controller. Boost in lower gears, 1-3 actually hit target and feels completely different and repeatable. The throttle response makes it feel like a completely different car, almost like na response but still pulls harder and harder the farther up in rpm you are.

4th and 5th dont spike like they would before and then open the gate and completely loose boost and just go back and forth, almost like i was flooring it and then letting off. Now it may creep a little for a second right when you floor it but will quickly bring boost back to commanded levels and keep a solid repeatable boost level.

The single biggest change in the car for about the cheapest price. Before I got the controller, when i would be in the mountains on roads where your in 2nd or 3rd going back and forth and your hitting increasing radius and decreasing radius turns, throttle response was sketchy and i never felt comfortable really getting on it, because power was never repeatable and i just never knew how the car would pull through a turn.

Now, its almost identical to an na car and you can feather the throttle and dial in the throttle to help with rotation and just all around being smoother. If you dont have one, get it. It turned the car from being pretty quick but sketchy and never repeatable, to quick and you know exactly what its going to do every time.

I can’t imagine a better way to spend $100. The install in my 02 WRX was less than graceful since some of the rubber lines had actually hardened and fused to the connection points. But I was patient and they eventually wiggled free.

Once the old stuff was out it was simple with the instructions on the COBB tuning website. Overall it took about 20 min and was still the easiest install of anything I have done to date. After I was done I hooked my COBB AP to my laptop and downloaded the new map.

The change was instantly obvious. A stronger and more consistent pull from launch to top speed. Hands down the best $100 I have spent on my car to date.

Would have given 5 stars; however, the bracket didn’t fit my car and wasn’t able to use it. Had to modify existing bracket. It said direct fit and was not. Despite that small set back, I am loving the product.

I replaced an Invidia N1 with this cobb cat-back. The Cobb is exhaust costs more but is far better. It is quieter than the N1, but the N1 is just to loud and makes the car sound broken. I’m running catless and the car was terribly loud.

This Cobb cat-back with it’s mufflers really calmed it down. The car also sounds like a proper Subaru now. If you get a second hand Subaru and it sounds ruined, install this exhaust.

I recently replaced my Invidia q300 with this and so glad I did. The unique deep boxer rumble tone has never sounded better, and I have this paired with the Cobb catted DP. It’s definitely much louder than the q300 in my opinion.

Lets just say that I have been going back and forth between the cobb and the Q300 for about a year now. And final made my decision and couldnt be happier. The videos on line of the Q300 just sounded to “Tinny/Raspy” for my taste.

The cobb is more of a throaty sound, which is great. If you want that nice deep tone/rumble, then get this exhaust! I have this paired with a invidia catted downpipe, just sounds awsome! Not loud and overbearing, great for a daily driven car.

Build quality was excellent and no fitment problems at all, which makes this ideal for a one person install. Thanks Cobb.

Perfect fitment and very simple install. I had a Cold Air Intake for a 2000 RS from Cobb and they’ve come a long way in terms of design and quality. Instructions are very easy to follow and install took abut 15 minutes.

Getting old air box out is what took me the longest. YOU MUST TUNE once installed. I purchased the AP at the same time so installed both simultaneously. Hard to determine what power gains are from AP and what is from intake but wow what a difference from stock.

I also have Cobb Cat Back exhaust and car pulls much harder and more evenly. The only possible negative I see with the product is the sound. Me personally, I like it. But its very audible on WOT. That said, you can manage it and keep it under wraps with calm even acceleration.

But hit the throttle and it sounds like a hurricane unleashing. The whoosh and air suck is really loud. I purchased with the cleaning kit so will see how it performs after I clean in a few months. No real need for the air box unless you like the look.

Heat soak shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve been using the intake temp gauge on the AP and in July while in traffic, temps are reasonable. Overall, very good value for the money.

Quality, fit and finish of the product was very good. Easy to install. I was surprised by the increase in sound coming from the air intake system. Spooling of the turbo and blowoff are quite audible in the cabin.

Biggest surprise was the spooling/sucking sounds. As for increased performance, I’m not sure. It feels like I have more power but I’m not sure if it’s just wishful thinking. Overall I’m quite pleased with the new SF intake.

Will move to Stage 2 in the very near future.

I’ve had the AEM, modified stock box and now the Cobb sf. The Cobb is by far my favorite. My A/F learning has stayed below 3% since install. I am always surprised by the quality of the packaging when making a purchase from cobb.

I’m currently on the OTS cobb stage 2 sf intake map. Catless turbo back. The turbo spool is insane. I personally love hearing all the noise my engine makes. This is not a quiet intake by any means. I will be using the airbox during the summer to avoid ambient engine heat but am currently running it without one.

Never above 98°f intake temp at 6600ft. My stock box would get upwards of 134°f!.

Improved performance of all my bolt on power upgrades. Jail break your PCM like I did. And easy install. My 8 speed Hemi is a unlocked Monster.

Worked great. Taking the pcm off can be a little tricky but after you get it it’s good. Tuner looks good also.

I have had my COBB Accessport for my Ascent for about 6 months. I run a 93 octane tune and the car performs much better than the stock version. It feels like this is how this car was meant to perform, before it was de-tuned by Subaru’s engineers to reduce warranty claims on the terrible CVT they put in this car.

This aside, the 93 octane tune completely eliminates the low RPM lag that so many Ascent drivers complain about. You can really see it on the torque curve, but it’s maddening when experienced; installed the Accessport and the lag was gone, literally gone.

Love COBB products. highly recommend.

I got mine installed yesterday (2019 Ascent Touring). The process was about as straightforward as possible. No issues. I had nearly a full tank of 89 octane so I mapped the 87+ tune. Noticeable difference across the 2500-5000RPM spectrum.

I can’t wait to see what the 93 map will do once I need a refill. Now if only we didn’t have a gas shortage up here in Maryland right now!! Looking forward to the 2022 WRX STI and to see what these folks at Cobb are going to do with that gem of a rocket.

I primarily bought this due to my previous experience with Accessports on my STI and Outback XT. It did not disappoint. I tow a camper near the limit of the capacity of my Ascent and the Accessport gave me just enough more performance to make some of the hills that I encounter are a little easier.

It is also quite nice to switch octane maps as we travel through areas that don’t have 93 available. The extra performance is also nice when not encumbered by the trailer.
