20 Best Tung Oil Brand (2022 Updated)

I’ve had this amazing and attractive little tracker for less than 24hrs and I’ve already purchased another for my girlfriend! All complete and delivered on time in perfect working order. All you have to do is change the battery and you’re off and running (walking in my case).

The app is different than others in that it is focused more on overall health and not just weight loss. That resonates with me. Now this may be the older model but at over 75% off the newer versions I am more than satisfied.

I bought this for one of my daughters who wanted a fitbit. I knew this would be better because of its more female centered. She had no idea what it was, but after a few days, loves it! She loves that it can be worn in multiple ways instead of just on her wrist.

And I love that I didn’t have to spend a fortune for my teenager, who tends to misplace her stuff daily. Works great, great condition.

I bought this to replace one I accidentally dropped in the toilet and I love this one. Its lightweight. It syncs well. Item came as described.

I have a beautiful teak outdoor table that has been starting to look worn and I applied two coats of Miniwax Tung oil finish to it and and couldn’t be happier!! The oil penetrated quickly into the wood and it looks and feels like it now has a waterproof finish to it.

It was nice that the wood didnt darken when I applied the oil to the table. The table actually has a few stains on it and the Tung oil basically made them disappear! The table looks brand new even though it probably about 10 years old! The Miniwax Tung oil was very easy to apply, the smell was not offensive and cleanup was a breeze.

Definitely would recommend this easy to use product!!.

Minwax Tung Oil Finish is the best you can buy for your projects. I recently used it on a 180 year old rocking chair after stripping multiple coats of paint from and cleaning. By applying over 15 coats and lightly sanding between each, the chair looks as if it was just created.

With proper preparation and following the directions, the product will provide the best quality end result possible. Clean up is easy with mineral spirits. There is minimal odor, though all tung oil has an odor, but wood workers and restoration people like me enjoy it.

I highly recommend Minwax Tung Oil for a lasting protective finish on your wood projects.

I have very old cabinets and I was thinking about gutting them or painting them. When I came along with Minwax Tung Oil Finish I was skeptical about how it would work, however, I had used one of their products many years ago and it worked wonderfully.

Minwax won me over again. I’m so happy with the results! My cabinets look brand new. Minwax was so easy to work with. It went on so so silky smooth. There was no streaking or bubbles in any of it. My cabinets look beautiful again.

Just like the day we put them in. I would recommend this to anyone looking to spruce up their cabinets.

So far the protection still looks good but time will tell. Previous oils that I have used have not prevented the sculptures going black. I hope this will not happen with this new oil that you recommended to me.

I believe this oil cannot be surpassed. I have just finished oiling an oak balustrade on an outside balcony facing the sea and it is perfect for weatherproofing. This is the second year of oiling with Liberon Pure Tung Oil so I have experienced its properties.

I’ve been using this for years as a wood coating on furniture, worktops and turned bowls. It’s brilliant stuff. Natural, it polymerises in the wood to form a natural protective barrier. The more costs you add, the deeper the shine that can be achieved, from matt at one coat through to silk sheen on to gloss with multiple coats.

If the wood starts to show signs of wear, just wipe it on again! No stripping like varnish. Non toxic and very pleasant to use.

The only drawback is that treating the freshly sanded worksurface takes several steady coats with a long period in between but it is worth it to get a good finish. It is certainly better than other products I have used in the past.

Commercial Wood oils are a strange thing, often there is no universal definition of the components of a particular oil, each brand having their own version. With Tung Oil you need to look for words like “pure” “100%” which this product is.

No solvent. Just oil. Very nice product good finish. You can add it to other wood finishes that have solvents in them, but not too much.

Using it to protect air dried 110 year old white oak that was milled on a bandsaw. I am constructing a “Korean” floor for my outdoor work shop. Although the area is covered with a roof and doesn’t get exposure from that direction, I wanted to provide extra assurance that the drying and protection would continue slowly and “repel” any moisture.

I have applied 5-6 coats in the application areas. I have been using this product for a couple years with good success.

I’m building raised garden beds out of pressure-treated lumber and I read about this product being a food-safe treatment to extend the life of wood. I spent a few days painting on two coats of the oil (the instructions recommend SIX coats, but that’s a lot of product and work) on the wood.

You definitely want to apply this in a WELL-VENTILATED area – it’s not toxic, but it is STRONG, think of the smell of Pine Sol on steroids. : ) So far, water appears to bead-up on the wood, meaning it’s NOT going into the wood – problem solved!.

I was very happy with this product. I have been using Teal Milk Paint products for about 4 years and I have been very satisfied with the results. This is the first time I’ve used the Outdoor Defense Oil and I think it’s the best product for my decks and deck furniture.

I have previously used a worktop oil made by Sadolins which unfortunately now seems to be unobtainable. This product was absorbed far more easily into the wood and left the table-top with an attractive semi-sheen.

The Liberon product is a disappointment but I will continue to use it as I am hopeful; that the Sadolins product might eventually become available again.

Real pure Tung oil, not mixed with other varnishes as many other products are. Pleasant to apply but does need many applications to achieve a good finish with a long wait between coats – as is normal for this oil.

This was my first time to use the Half & Half product. I purchased it to stain an area on the floor that required repairing. I had to pull up the damaged floor and lay down unfinished red oak wood. This is the 3/4 inch tongue & groove wood.

After testing out the Half & Half product, and wanting a little darker finish on my test sample to match up with the current stained flooring, I purchased the Dark Half & Half product. I came up with a mixture of the two products to match up with the flooring.

I was successful and am very pleased with the results. I was able to apply it very easily and loved seeing the transformation of the unfinished wood. I applied several mixed coatings in order to get a very close match to the original flooring.

I was looking for a stain to refinish my wood floors so I ordered 3 different colors. I used several coats and couldn’t get the color that I wanted. By biggest reason for not purchasing the product was availability.

There is no retailer or store anywhere near where I live and I live in a metro area of around 500,000 people. When I looked into shipping it to my home the shipping costs were astronomical and let’s face it this day and age everyone is used to getting free shipping – I don’t mind paying a little bit but it was way too much.

I opted to go with a product called Watco and was pleased with the results. Biggest reason was it was available at a lot of store – unfortunately it was only available in quart cans so I had to purchase 8 of them to finish roughly 800 square feet (I used Dark Walnut and went over the floors 3 times) I like your product and would use it for smaller applications my suggestion would be to work on increasing your dealer network to make it more easily available.

I have used Tung Oil purchased from Real Milk Paint Co. since fall 2008. I use it on Greenland kayak paddles made from Western Red Cedar, Eastern White Cedar, Spruce, and Pine. From the raw wood, it takes 5 coats to get a glossy, hard, waterproof coating.

The technique is to wipe with a paper towel after coating, then leave in the bright sun. for at least 15 minutes each side. Reciting is needed after three or more months of paddling (approximately 300 miles of [paddling, at the least).

Paddling is in both fresh and salt water. I note a change in the product over the years. Initially, one 2008, I could leave a thicker coat on the paddle when putting it in the sun to cure. It would still harden and not be sticky.

But over the years, it got to where I had to wipe off the excess oil or it would stay tacky. Also, back in 2008, I could go to 7 or more coats, just to make it look nicer. doing that now causes tackiness.

This is with light sanding between coats with 320 paper. I expect this has to do with the environmental factors where the trees grow, as the produce is pure. This is not a problem, just a curiosity. Some Greenland kayakers recommend other types of oil.

I have not tried anything else, since all of the other types a mixtures containing some toxic products, are more complicated to apply, and are not as easily removed when it is time to refinish.

Has anyone seen my coffee? I left it around here somewhere. Hold on a minute. Okay, i’m back, found it. May have to make some more. Anyways, if you are looking for a non-toxic finish that can compete with the million petrofinishes out there, Tung Oil is the way to go.

The drying time can be an issue. rather than reach for the ‘Japan Drier’ (merely a bunch of dissolved metals) consider the natural driers. Believe it or not, the makum-itchy ingredient in Poison Ivy is the best additive for this purpose (didn’t you always suspect there was something it was good for?) But since you probably won’t be exploring that option, try mixing 1:3 with boiled Linseed Oil.

Best of both worlds. And ignore all those Wikipedia Youtube experts who say to water it down with solvents. The 50/50 recommended ‘first coat’ will do nothing but waste time and money. Tung Oil is perfectly capable of soaking into the densest wood all by itself.

And if you do thin it, DO NOT use mineral spirits or any other non-tree solvent. I only use pure turpentine and trust me, i’ve tried everything else including coffee (okay, that was an accident). I ruined several projects before i discovered that Tung Oil and Petrochemicals mix like fiscal responsibility and politicians.

We are waiting to add three more coats and a 30 day cure time, so the tone in the photos will darken and get more consistent, if I can judge by a window-seat we did earlier. I am thrilled to have found the citrus solvent and tung oil finish for our 125 year old white oak (with lots of curly wood grain boards) at Milk Paint.

The product they offer here (tung oil) was used thousands of years ago but is a real breakthrough now for those of us who have had to live with toxic products and meh results for years. Our old floors are pretty now and will be gorgeous when finished.

Application could not be easier. We used brushes for doors and then two Dollar Store sponge mops and two buckets and brushes (and then skating around on the floor with old socks on -haha).

We bought birch butcher block to use as counters in our renovated home. I was torn between mineral oil and some other ‘food safe’ alternatives for my counters. After several reviews and my contractor’s suggestions, I looked into Tung Oil.

I finally found your product. Pure Tung Oil, food safe and several varieties including pre-mixed Half and Half. My husband and I ordered the half and half mix, as well as Pure Tung Oil and couldn’t be happier! The oil itself hasn’t truly cured the 30 days and already it has protected them incredibly.

Water beads on top and I am able to feel safe if myself or my kids put food directly on the counter. Which we haven’t yet as I am truly trying to wait as long as possible before ‘using’ the counters.

For the better part of 2 years, I have been out of my living room due to an inability on the part of flooring “professionals” to properly refinish or recoat my living room hardwoods. I stripped and refinished the floor myself using soygel, emerge degreaser and sanded by hand with 220 grit.

I coated the floor with pure tung oil cut with citrus solvent. The results are breathtaking. 1961 red oak looks amazing. Once again my living room floor is as smooth as a cabinet. If you want something done right you probably should do it yourself.

I will never use polyurethane on a floor again. I’m whole again. V for victory!✌️ Many thanks to Real Milkpaint in Tennessee for their quality products and guidance.

The reason I ordered the Half & Half is because the State of California has made it impossible to buy mineral spirits, which I was using to dilute the Tung Oil I bought. So I ordered two 1 gallon jugs of Half & Half to use to protect the wood framing of the outdoor chicken run we are building.

I found the Half & Half very easy to apply with a natural bristle brush. I used two costs, although I think three or maybe even four coats would offer better protection for the bare Douglas Fir 2×4’s.

I also used the Half & Half over some dark green Milk Paint to protect the milk paint from the elements. I had painted the fiber cement siding on the outside walls of our chicken coop with a mix of Lily Pad and French Toast.

Whereas the plain milk paint has a flat surface (basically no sheen), with the oil it becomes glossy. I used two coats of Half & Half as one coat left a blotchy finish. Two coats looks very lovely, and I expect the paint to last quite well this way.

Another really good aspect of the Half & Half is that the citrus solvent does not make me feel sick the way mineral spirits do. All in all I am very happy with both the Half and Half and the Milk Paint.

This product transformed our oak bedroom furniture. They were looking tired and ‘grey’. The product was easy to apply and was readily absorbed by the unpolished wood. The product left an even finish and the furniture now looks great with a warm, natural colour.

There was no sticky residue left after applying the product. I will definitely use it again. I never thought that polishing would give such satisfaction!.

My late grandfather’s old Gustav Becker wall clock looks so much better. It probably hadn’t had any wood treatment since 1890. I also bought a resin eagle to fit on the top as the original had been replaced by a wooden finial.

The German imperial eagles were often taken off these clocks at the out break of WW1. Looks good now.

This is a miracle worker. It has brought up like new several pieces of furniture – mahogany, pine and oak. It brings out the natural pattern of the wood and gives back it’s rich depth of colour. Amazed and thrilled with it.

I have been meaning to buy this product for some time to help preserve my wood planters. Weather not so good at mo so haven’t gone out to use it on the planters that have been built for me as yet although the wood has been pre treated so i am not in any hurry.

However I read all reviews and researched what to use that would be okay with plants. As soon as the weather get a bit better I will be out using it. Also using it on the little wooden planters I bought recently which I will get on with over next few days.

I have no doubt it will be just what I wanted and will be easy to use judging by the reviews I have read.

I have 8 new un-finished internal oak doors. I didn’t want to varnish or paint them that’s not the look I wanted. I wanted something to seal the wood, prevent it drying out and protect it from knocks.

First, I tried Liberon liquid wax polish first but it wasn’t the finish I was looking for. Next I tried Liberon Superior Danish Wax. This gives a great finish. It’s really easy to apply I used a new paint brush to apply it.

You do need to put dust sheets down because it does drip a bit. After applying the second coat the effect was great. I had enough left to apply a third coat and the effect was great. It has bought out all the grain in the wood and left a sort of satin sheen.

I thoroughly recommend it to treat doors.

Needed to protect the new Man Cave bar unit with moisture guarding. Having read all the reviews of this product I purchased 1Ltr and duly applied 3 coats leaving 24hrs between each. Finish is superb, slightly darkening the timber which is new.

It did absorb a lot during the first coat, but it is fresh timber. VOC levels are not that high, and was done in a well ventilated area. Pleased with the final outcome.

Used this product for the first time over the past three days. Works GREAT. Brushed it on (simple) wait for about twenty minutes and brushed on some more. Waited a couple of hours and brushed on more.

This was being done by a freshly mocked and glued up 48″ x 96″ butcher block island countertop (freshly planned and sanded of course). Day Two : Brushed on another coat then waited five hours and put on the last of my coats of Oil.

Day three: Came out this morning and wiped it clean. Easy as can be to receive an absolutely awesome finish.
