20 Best Turntable For Scratching (2022 Updated)

I purchased this to replace a Marantz 6150 DD turntable that i purchased new in the late seventies as even though still in perfect working order i felt it was overdue for replacement. This deck does not come with a cartridge which is fine as i intended to use the cartridge off of the 6150, a Shure M95HE with a genuine Shure nude diamond HE stylus.

Where as i could notice detectable rumble on the Marantz, there is none on the Pioneer and i was constantly adjusting the pitch on the Marantz but the Pioneer just stays spot on. This Pioneer deck is all i could of wished for, it is adjustable in all parameters that you require to get the best from your vinyl, and with the cartridge set up and tracking at 1grm it makes my vinyl sound as a new experience.

My only regret is why it took me so long to replace the Marantz, i am totally pleased with the Pioneer and the robustness and quality of construction are 1st class. I am using a Technics A700mk2 amplifier bi-wired to Tannoy Mercury 7.

4 floorstanding speakers and feel i now have a very competent and fine sounding system. To conclude i am more than pleased with my purchase of this deck.

Sound: My circles in Serato are perfectly round and the vinyl records sound great with my Shures. Features: A 1200 with a stronger motor and the little things that matter. Ease of Use: They are pure turntables, the music and sounds require you to do the work.

Quality: It feels like I will have these for years to come. Value: I think they priced it well. Manufacturer Support: I have yet to have any issues but I would think Pioneer would be on point with support.

The Wow Factor: When my boys asked me are those 1210’s and I said no, they are the new pioneer joints, they said, “WOOOW” those are dope fam. So that’s a pretty good wow factor. Overall: I have been using these wheels for about 2 days now and I can say that I feel like a married man who is cheating on his wife with a younger, prettier woman.

I have been my wife for about 30 years (1200’s). I have done it all from battling, to travelling parties, to getting busy on many stages throughout the years. She has made me happy. In comes the new girl (PLX-1000).

Her name isn’t as catchy but I have nicknamed her the (PG’s). She is prettier to look at. Her motor is stronger, she has a counterweight for heavy handed guys like me. I like the way they sit pretty on my table right next to the mixer with perfect height.

The anti-skate and arm lifts all have a quality feel. The pitch reset are quite precise and the different options of pitch control work well. The pitch control slider feels beautiful in the hands. I must say that I am in love all over again.

The feeling of unboxing the next great turntable was a great experience. Everything came neatly packaged and ready to go. I like the headshell for the cartridge and the fact that it has a detachable weight.

Something small but effective – The on and off switch is recessed so you don’t accidently bump it and turn off the turntable. That was an issue that I had in my teen years of battling and doing tricks but it also gave me a skill set that I am glad to have learned.

I have 3 sets of 1200’s in my lab and I will always love them and I will never divorce her. I just feel that as our lives have progressed, I need a new chick on the side to do some things with. My P-G’s are the new thing in my life and my Serato Rane Mixer loves them.

I have set up my 1200’s and mixer next to my old school crates for my analog setup. I actually threw some vinyl on the P-G’s and low and behold, they are great with the counter weights as well. I am keeping my double set-up as it is, but yes, they move vinyl as well, if not better due to the motor strength and pitch speed adjustments.

I spent a couple of months wondering about buying this and did my homework first; a good secondhand Technics 1210 would have cost the same, and who knows what problems I might encounter. This is a solid take on the 1210 by Pioneer and, better still, comes with Richer Sounds 6 year warranty included in the price, so ultimately it’s a no-brainer.

I’m not a DJ, this is for home audiophile listening (just as the original Technics 1210 was intended to be in 1972). If you’re considering this for home use don’t hesitate, it blows away all similarly priced hifi decks in my opinion, and looks VERY nice in the living room too.

LOVE the fact that it DOESN’T have a built in phone stage or any gimmicky USB nonsense, plus gold plated phono outputs so you can use cables of your choice. I’m expecting this deck to see me out! I’ve been a customer of Richer Sounds since the 1980s and they have always been my first port of call for new audio gear, never been disappointed.

The product worked as described; however, it is recommended that you purchase more parts to upgrade it for it to work better. Be careful with being over consumed with watching YouTube videos and then ordering music equipment if you’re a newbie to making your own music.

Try to find someone you could speak to before buying anything. Like a person that is not selling the equipment, or you could easily waste hundreds of dollars if you don’t return it within 45 days [although, you never really used it, except to see if it works.

Quality is great, turntable is lightweight (1. 2kg), drive is strong like direct drive in normal turntables. I think it’s the best option to start portablism in 2019. The turntable has only one disadvantage – micro USB.

In my opinion, the turntable from 2019 should have USB Type C built-in. Generally I recommend. Fast, free and well packed delivery. Thanks DJ City Australia for great service! 👊.

The only monitor speakers I can compare these Pioneers to are the Tanoy 402 Reveal. The Pioneers deliver a really nice and warm sound with lots of definition in the mid to high range, even the lower frequencies can be hear nicely down to about 50 Hertz.

Anything below about 30 Hertz starts to rumble and just becomes inaudible. Great quality speakers for the price. I’m a music producer and I used to own the Tannoys mentioned above, they were ok but the bass response was nowhere near as good as the Pioneers.

The Tannoys also lacked some clarity in the high end frequencies. The only thing I don’t like about the Pioneers is the fact that they’re not great if you use an interface with them, monitors should go straight into the back of most interfaces and keep the headphone output separate.

I managed to get around this by plugging the 3. 5mm jack from the speakers into the headphone input on the interface. Other than that these speakers are great, quality design, really nice sound and very easy to setup.

I highly recommend this if you’re looking for something within a 200 budget. If you want to spend more then I’d go for the Yamaha HS8’s, they’re hands down one of the best moniter speakers on the market.

I’m super stoked with this turntable. It’s the nicest one I’ve owned so my opinion probably doesn’t mean too much. Its perfect for entertaining or just playing my collection. Took almost zero setup. Put the table on.

Plugged it in and turned it up. The speakers they suggested with it thump just right for me. I could see wanted more in that department if I was still a young dude. Thanks for an awesome product.

I would save a little more money and get the plx 1000, I don’t know why the build quality is so poor, but nevertheless it is. The power switch is finicky and doesn’t stay on every time you turn it on.

You have to fiddle with it. The sound quality is fine, as long as you don’t touch the turntable, or the table it’s sitting on. It doesn’t seem to perform any better than my old Crosley turntable. It just costs a lot more.

This is replacing my 1978 stereo “system” that I have added to over the years with a tape player and CD player. I may figure out how to attach my old speakers to this new unit to enhance the sound, but currently the sound is satisfactory.

I’m delighted to be able to play my LPs again. I’m delighted that I can have all the media without plugs and wires strung all over. I’m delighted it is so compact and weighs less than #7. I’m so delighted that I bought a second one for my “grandson” who just turned 14 so he can know what cassette tapes, CDs and LPs are.

We’re now sharing our love for Beatles with CDs and LPs.

The sound is very nice and deep. i had got a crowley turntable and it just wasnt pleasing, andneeding a cd player i grabbed this. beyond thrilled as i figured the quality would be sub par being walmart (the turntable was also walmart and records rubbed the lid as it played).

this one performs well and i even can record from record. now if your a record nut, you may find the record player here isnt on par with a dedicated player, but i knew that going in. i cant tell the difference like someone with a more trained ear could.

I don’t know what’s going on with record players and Walmart, but this was the THIRD one that I’ve bought with them and the first two quit working after one time of using. According to the manual, this meant the belt fell off.

I returned the first one to Walmart and was told they didn’t have any that cost what I paid, (even with a receipt) and would have to pay another $30 to replace it. I didn’t. A couple of months later, I decided to try again and paid a bigger price, hoping to get better quality.

I didn’t. Again, it played one record and the belt fell off. I returned it to Walmart and was told I couldn’t exchange it, but could get a gift card, Walmart’s of course, for a fraction of what I paid.

Again, my receipt meant nothing. I decided to take it back home and try to fix it myself. How hard could it be to put on a belt? Well, short of slamming it with a hammer (and I was tempted) there was no getting inside this and still be able to use it again.

Many months later, I thought maybe enough people had complained that maybe they had straightened this problem out. I ordered not only a more expensive one, but a whole different company. A Victrola. A name we grew up with and trusted.

I had a sick feeling when it was delivered with a hole in the side of the box that looked like a poke from a forklift. I also bought a 2 year Protection Plan, so if this one behaved like the others, I had backup with more coverage than the first two.

This one was even worse. It rattled when we took it out of the box and never even played one song. I tried to return it and again, was told it could not be returned, (this time even a gift card wasn’t offered).

Funny, all three times I tried to return these, management was never there. I’ve worked retail all my life and NEVER, NOT ONCE, was there no management available. I’ve tried calling and calling and there’s also no one who ever answers the phone, no matter how long you let it ring.

These record players are trash and Walmart is not far from them in my book. Let’s see if they use THIS review!! DO NOT waste your money on these.

I received this record player as a gift for Christmas. I literally played the recorder 3 times and after that, the player sounded as if the speakers were blown. I connected the bluetooth and music coming through that way sounded fine.

After calling “customer service” numerous times, I finally spoke with someone that gave me a couple of different things to try (including BUYING a new needle), which didn’t change the poor sound. As i’d already put a claim in, received an email suggesting similar things that the cust service person I spoke with recommended but it still doesn’t play.

I’ve since tried to call at least 10 times and have sent 2 additional claims, all with no response. I even replied to the person that emailed me the suggestions, that they didn’t work and that I tried some additional things.

Still no response. I just want the record player that was paid for to work. nothing more, nothing less. Replacing it would have been good, but I’ve heard nothing.

My VPI needs some shop time, so I tried one of these with the intention of gifting it once I get my main rig back. At this price point, there is absolutely nothing to complain about with this Denon. Setup is easy.

With built-in preamp, it can be used with anything. Turn the preamp on and use with powered speakers, sound bar, or home theater receiver. Turn off preamp to use with components that have their own phono preamp built-in.

Put a record on, push start, and go. Unit automatically returns arm to rest, and shuts off at the end of a record. Or just hit “stop” if you’re done listening at any point. Can’t be any easier than that.

I had no complaints about the sound. It is not a Linn Sondeck, and I didn’t expect it to sound like one. But I was pleasantly surprised at how good it DID sound. Nice full, clean sound. I would advise this unit for anyone not in the market for an expensive turntable, or wants to avoid the cheap record players.

I bought a used Denon dp 29f it was good but I wanted better. I read reviews and watched a lot of videos on YouTube and picked the Denon dp 300f. I got a super great price brand new for $198 no tax free shipping.

It was so simple to get the arm balanced took about a minute. I hooked it up to a Denon AVR-1611 receiver running through some JBL speakers and let me tell you the sound blew me away. I have on order a Ortofon 2M red stylus can’t wait to hear how great it will sound.

I highly recommend the Deno dp 300f you won’t be disappointed.

I use this with some nice powered computer speakers, I don’t have space for a full on stereo consol. The RIAA preamp brings up the signal to line level with proper EQ curve to plug into anything and sound great ( regular phono output cannot do this ).

It’s fun going through all the crates of old records, great sound, ultra compact setup.

This lazy susan looks nice, but this product is poorly designed and cheaply built. 1) Very unstable and easy to tip. The base is about 8-inches in diameter under the 18-inch diameter top resulting in a poorly balanced top with 5-inches of unsupported overhang all around.

2) No turntable mechanism. Instead, there are 6 small, individual ball-bearing cups mounted in the wooden base and bearing against the underside of the wooden top. The top and base are held together by a single wood screw in the center.

With use, I expect the individual bearing cups to become loose in their mounting holes, the bearings to become clogged with sawdust from wearing against the wooden top, and the center wood screw to loosen.

Fortunately, my intended use (swivel base for a 15-lbs TV monitor) requires limited use. If you require a greater weight capacity and more frequent use I suggest you purchase a lazy susan that is better balanced and has a conventional turntable mechanism (steel ball bearings captured between stamped steel raceway plates).

Took a chance although reviews indicated issues with the swivel. No luck, product arrived damaged as for others, with ball imprinted in the base of the plate, probably from overload during shipment, making it hard to turn, It looks nice and one could purchase and mount a sturdy swivel available on Amazon to turn it into a nice item.

However, it looks like it would also need a few layers of varnish to make it kitchen resistant. So will return. But for the price, could make a nice starting piece for somebody to make it a project and able to put some time into it to turn it into a pleasant workable item.

Spins very nice (had to loosen it up a little just by spinning it when I walked by), you don’t want your stuff to fly off, just turn. The wood is absolutely beautiful. I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it.

BTW. it states in the heading it is 16″, and it is. Not 18″ as in the description. The price is cheaper than the 18″ one, think about it (made by the same company), probably used the same description and forgot to change the size.

No biggie, I knew it was the 16″ that I ordered.

Exactly what I need! I had a collection of 78s that hadn’t been played for years due to the lack of a player. I wasn’t going to troll for a 60/70 year old record changer that might need lots of fixing.

And this came along. Never mind the lack of anti skate. My 78s have no need for it. The 5 gm playing weight is just fine, remembering that lacquer pressings started life having to hold up a speaker weighing in terms of pounds by the tip of a steel needle.

As there was no choice of cartridge, the factory can pre set the azimuth and VTF to suit the cartridge that is provided. The sound is great. Needs very little e. q. to update half century plus recordings.

The tiny speakers on the plinth are great too; just don’t crank them all the way up! The dedicated 78 stylus is half the price of the entire turntable. But the combination is arguably cheaper than a 70 year old record changer that needs work.

So, yes. This is perfect for me. Let’s hope it lasts long enough to transfer my entire collection of 78s.

You are probably looking at this because you are just getting in to vinyl and this is a cool looking unit with a lot of features and it doesn’t break the bank. The radio and bluetooth all work well enough and it is an attractive design, but the record player is junk.

It sounds awful. After doing research on why it sounded so bad, the turntable has ridiculous amounts of wobble causing a distorted sound. I upgraded to a dedicated turntable and wow. it really highlighted how garbage the record player is.

I’m giving 3 stars because the speaker quality is good and the design is nice, but the turntable is terrible.

This product will not last one year. We went through 2 of these in one year. We thought the first one was maybe just something wrong with that one so we got another one. NOPE. Second one has died. It will not power on, same issue as the first one.

This record player looks good, but now I have a big paper weight box. I will not buy another Victoria product because I tried to contact them about this, and they will not do anything about it.

I was so excited to finally use this record player, but once I got my records and played one, I turned the volume all the way up and could still barely hear it. I’m going to have to purchase speakers to attach to it just to hear what’s playing.

I could have just played the music from my phone in that case. It’s cool looking and sounds clear. if you listen really closely, really really closely.

It looks great. Even if it is refurbished you couldn’t tell that it is. Sounds great too. The only thing that could make it better is if it had its own lowering and raising mechanism. My daughter loves it.

Easy set up for both cabled and blue tooth. Blue tooth is a great feature. Sound quality is excellent. I like that the needles are easy to replace. Product quality overall is very good. A very good value.

I am just getting back into collecting and playing vinyl after many years, so I wanted to start out simple and ease back into it. This turntable was/is perfect for that. Great value, great quality, and very easy to set up and use.

Both from a turntable and bluetooth connectivity stand points. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was due to the fact that it is a belt drive system, so if you have the speaker turned down low you can hear it.

This is definitely not a deal breaker and I would purchase this unit 100 times out of 100.

I bought this hoping to get lucky and find a product that would easily connect to my sound bar. but i didn’t expect it to be this easy. I literally just pushed a button and it connected to my yamaha sound bar.

Sounds great. Bass hits in my subwoofer. Great value for 150 bucks.

This turntable needs no introduction or amateur review. It needs my approval as much as Eric Clapton needs me to walk up to him in the street and tell him that I think he really is pretty good on the guitar and to keep it up.

This renowned turntable was the deck used by professional DJs through my teen years and so became a real object of desire to me and my friends. Whilst not purist for audiophiles It was widely regarded as one of the most durable and reliable turntables ever produced.

Over years I have bought a number of ‘high end ‘turntables but the lockdown had me revisiting the boxes vinyl and through all the reminiscing got me thinking that perhaps it was time to but a Technics turntable.

I opted for the 1210GR Black. From the moment of unboxing, you come to understand that this is a special product and a thing of utter beauty. I found myself photographing it as I was setting it up. The platinum service from the Plymouth store included their installation of an Ortofon bronze cartridge in for me.

The experience of setting it up and playing records on it has been a special, magical and nostalgic one. It is built like a tank weighs about the same. It feels right and it sounds sublime. Other more expensive turntables may ultimately sound better but I am pretty confident that nothing will match the overall joy of living with this icon.

It comes as no surprise to hear that At the London Science Museum, a Technics SL-1210 is on display as one of the pieces of technology that have “shaped the world we live in”.

I purchased this turntable as an upgrade 2 weeks ago. A word of caution. Take time to set it up according to the manual. You will be rewarded by the fantastic sound. I paired the deck with the Ortofon cartridge.

However I was hearing sounds on some of my LP’s that I’d never heard before but (to my ears) not in a good way, so concerned, I took the turntable back to Richer Sounds in Leeds for a 2nd opinion and reassurance that I’d set it up right.

I needn’t have worried. Mike set everything up in their listening room and all was fine. Nothing was too much trouble and I came away happy and with some new speaker stands. I throughly recommend the Technics 1210 turntable and Richer Sounds.

You will not be disappointed with either.

Since I was about 11 (46 now) I wanted to be a hip-hop DJ. For some reason I never got into it, until last month. This isn’t a Technics, but it’s not cheap either. Having only owned it for a week, I’m still learning how it works, but I feel I can without question already claim how great it is.

My only 2 con: It’s not available in white or gray. Not that it looks bad, it looks very slick, but I like white – oh well. It doesn’t come with a Serato DVS license, which could be annoying if you don’t have one.

I bought a Numark Scratch and it came with both Serato DJ Pro + a DVS liscense. PROS: it’sa got ultra pitch, also has platter play where you can use the performance pads to change the speed of the record playing and play it almost like a keyboard.

The pads feel great, and are RGB which is nice when you use Serato. Sounds beautiful, I use it in both DVS mode and with regular vinyl. I’m using an Ortofon Scratch cartridge which wasn’t designed around SQ, and it still sounds full and rich.

it’s built like a tank, everything feels like it was built to last. This is the 2nd best purchase I made in 2020 (propane pizza oven was 1st) I’ve loved music since I was a child. While I steam a lot, I haven’t bought an album in a good while.

Since getting this I’ve bought 5 records and have a long list more I want to order when I can afford it. There’s something about playing vinyl that digital doesn’t do for me. I use to play records 35 years ago, and once I got this set up.

I realized how much I missed the feel of touching vinyl and how it sounds.

This thing is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Hands down the best turntables I have ever owned. Being able to control multiple functions in Serato while not having to swich on the mixer is great. My favorite feature is the Platter play.

Its so much more than the tone play because depending on the sample youre using you can play actual notes in key!! The torque is fantastic as well. If youre looking for a great alternative from 1200s the pick up a pair of these, you wont be disappointed.

I was debating whether to buy these or some Technics, and eventually I landed on these for two main reasons: cost and advanced tech. These Reloops have the ability to set hotcues and have amazing features like break speed adjust and torque adjust which is brilliantly useful.

They are also Serato DJ Pro enabled which meant linking them to my DDJ SX3 and using them as DVS turntables was the easiest thing in the world. I’ve loved using these and they’re fully worth every penny.

Before I give my opinion on these il make it clear right now that I was filled with trepidation buying mk7s. As a technics mk2 fan since I got a pair in 1997, coupled with the poor reviews for these turntables I was expecting to be sending these back to the outlet I bought them from.

The reason I took the leap was that I’d had after market pitch put in my mk2s (not my original 97 ones ) after and expensive service and I wasn’t happy with them. I couldn’t mix on them. So I decided to go for mk7s after reading they were good to mix on.

which for me is all that matters. I also read about technics ironing out some of the early issues with the pitch on the first run of decks. dead spots at +/- 8. This was another game changer for me. I can confirm, if there was an issue.

its been sorted. So after unboxing technics for the first time since 1997 I switched them on and hooked everything up. filled with trepidation. After 30 minutes I knew they were going nowhere. Let’s be clear.

these are not built like mk2s. I don’t like the target light which they could have done better with. And we don’t know the longevity of them compared to our old trusted analogue technics. But, these decks are beautiful to mix on.

They sound amazing. They are the 2 most important factors for me. The digital pitch. which I was dreading is smooth as butter. just fantastic and they hold a mix just fine. I’m a mixing dj, not a scratch dj so holding a mix is obviously vital for me.

There are some nice touches like torque adjustment, led colour change etc. I’ve left mine at the default setting and they’re perfect. Obviously the detachable cables are great compared to older models.

The led on the target is bright white. really nice. So in conclusion. if you’re on the fence and looking at these for mixing in the bedroom or deck room etc. you won’t regret it. I’m really pleased with them.

All doubt was washed way within 30 minutes. I’m planning on adding another for a 3 turntable setup. Go for it and enjoy.

They are a very nice turntable. There not built to same quality as the original. The sound makes up for it though. I find leaving the pitch faders on X2 (16%) mode best as it confuses you a little switching between modes.

Had them under a month though this could change as I learn. They come with very nice slipmats which I wasn’t expecting. Like the way technics have done away with the connecting pins at the back for the cover.

It makes removing the cover much simpler. Only downfall is the rubber plugs they have constructed that seem to fall out of place from where the pins used to be. Think over time they might grip better though as they wear.
