20 Best Turquoise Hair Dye (2022 Updated)

Ive been using Punky Colour Purple for years, and it was my absolutely favorite color. I’ve never felt more like myself than when I have freshly dyed hair in this shade. I’ve read a lot of reviews of this dye that complain it doesn’t quite turn out a true purple, which isn’t wrong, but it was my go-to product to get the particular intense vibrant pinkish-purple I was looking for.

I’ve tried a lot of other purple and pink dyes (and combos thereof), but Punky Colour Purple was the only one that delivered the sort of electric fuchsia shade I loved so much. I took a break from this product recently to use up some odds and ends of old dye, and when I finally reordered my beloved Purple, I was excited to get back to my perfect shade.

I noticed that the packaging was different, and the dye looked a little darker than I was used to, but I trusted that the product I’d relied on for so long wouldn’t let me down. I applied this dye over somewhat faded pink hair, as I usually do, and left it on for several hours, as I usually do.

But when I rinsed it out, instead of my favorite shade of bright purple-pink, what I have now is a gross burgundy color that’s so dark it’s almost black at the ends. It’s staining purple on my hands, so I know there’s some purple in there somewhere, but what I’ve got on my head is not at all what I’m used to from this product.

Maybe it’s a reaction with the other dye that I used previously, but I’ve applied Punky Colour on top of a lot of other products and it’s never looked like this. My best guess is that this dye was reformulated, but if so, the new product is much worse than the old one.

Not only am I deeply disappointed with how my hair turned out, I’m really heartbroken that I’ve apparently lost my favorite dye. I don’t like the results I got this time around, but they’ll fade soon enough.

Unfortunately, now I have to go on the hunt for another dye that will look half as nice as Punky Color Purple used.

I have never been so impressed with a dark hair dye in my life. I bought the juniper green and used it to dye a chunk of my hair. The texture of the dye itself is very thick, and therefore less likely to drip and splatter.

It smells fantastic, almost like something you would find in an apothecary. I had previously made the mistake of using splat and completely ruining the bathtub, but this dye took maybe a minute before the water ran clear, and what few stains were left behind came out effortlessly with a magic eraser.

Despite the lack of sticking or transferring of dye to skin, this looks FANTASTIC. The color is vibrant and absolutely gorgeous (photos of the dye itself on the website are very accurate), and while I’ve only just done it I’m eager to see how long this lasts.

Not only that, but I used this on freshly-bleached hair and the dye itself made it feel softer and look less damaged. Stunning, impressive, I can’t even begin to dream of going back. Absolutely stellar product.

I bought 4 dyes from Lunar Tides: Juniper Green, Aurora Green, Pastel Iris, and their toner. the toner worked great, I loved it! however the dyes are absolutely terrible. I read so many reviews before buying from them and the only “bad” thing I could find was that it was runny and messy.

the hair dye I received is almost a gel consistency, not runny at all. my hair was platinum blonde before I dyed it with juniper green. it is very dark in the container, but bright green on the hair; this was my first red flag.

I kept hoping it would be darker when I washed it out but obviously it was lighter. my hair was joker green. I figured this was my fault for toning my hair and thought maybe that could be the issue. however, I also dyed part of my hair with the Pastel Iris.

in the container, it looks like a darker purple (the shade you think of when I say purple) so I assumed it would be darker than I expected; it was not. it went on the hair very light, looked very similar to the toner.

after I rinsed it out (with cold water as you should) the color was BARELY there. it looked like I left toner on for a little too long. again, I figured this was my fault for ordering a pastel dye. HOWEVER, I just washed my hair for the first time since dying it (it has been exactly ONE week) and the color is completely gone.

the part that was dyed purple has absolutely no color in it. this was after ONE WASH. there is absolutely no reason for my hair to be blonde right now. I had to purchase a completely different dye to cover up the horrid snot green and now I have to re-dye the part that is purple EVERY TIME I want to wash my hair??? an absolute waste of money and time.

should not be sold as semi-permanent.

I love Lunar Tides. The salon I go to for my highlights use this product. I also purchase this as a consumer for at home use in between salon visits. The dyes are super vibrant. A big plus is that Lunar Tides are vegan and cruelty free.

I like mixing colors to make different shades. These are semi-permanent so they will wash out. I recommend washing your hair with cold water and use Watercolor Shampoo for whatever color your hair is.

Lunar Tides ships their product relatively fast too and normally include a discount on next purchase.

I have long Blue hair, and have been coloring my hair, consistently, and keeping it up, since the end of summer 2019. I was introduced to oVertone, at that time, and also began watching Brad’s YouTube channel around then, as well.

I actually decided to go ahead and purchase the brand because of Brad’s review of it that I saw on his YouTube channel. I got oVertone’s complete system, consisting of their Coloring Conditioner and Daily Conditioner, because I was interested in coloring my hair one color, keeping it that color, and keeping the color vibrant and bright.

I bleach my own roots and color them, every six to eight weeks. I’ve used oVertone’s Coloring Conditioner, Iroiro’s Premium Hair Color, Arctic Fox Hair Color, and now XMONDO COLOR, to color my roots after bleaching.

My roots, the first time they’re bleached and colored, don’t take color very well, so oVertone didn’t work for me, as because the rest of my hair was consistently getting the color deposited, with the daily color depositing conditioner, when I used the same color to color my roots, they came out as hot roots, which wasn’t the vibe I was going for.

So I tried Arctic Fox, but their colors didn’t match very well with oVertone’s teal, and I wasn’t a fan of the scent. So then I tried Iroiro’s, which was a huge improvement to Arctic Fox and oVertone’s, but didn’t really wow me.

It would do, but that was it. When XMONDO COLOR came out, I instantly knew I wanted to try it, but I waited to see if a teal color would come out, first. Now, while a Turquoise did come out, I was concerned it would be lighter than my teal blue, so I decided to just get SUPER BLUE instead, as I was using Deep Blue from Iroiro to combat the hot root problem I was getting.

I love the packaging, I love the scent, I love the color, I love how it applies. The one thing I am disappointed about, and this is no fault of the products, but the weirdness of my hair, is that it comes out the perfect color upon first application, but fades to a lighter color at my roots, over time, despite using the color depositing daily conditioner from oVertone each time I wash my hair.

I hope that XMONDO COLOR expands in the future, to possible include daily conditioners, like oVertone’s system, because I would definitely get XMONDO COLOR over oVertone, any day.

This is by far my favorite kind of hair color so far. I tried all kinds of brands for colors like this, but this XMondo one definitely is my favorite. My hair feels and looks incredibly healthy and silky smooth after.

The color is super vibrant and after a few washes still looks amazing. It’s very, very potent though, so I would highly suggest using gloves when applying the color, and being very careful to not get it on things.

I’d also recommend wearing a shirt to sleep and having a pillow case that you might not care about that much because the first night before my first “actual” hair wash with shampoo my hair did stain quite a bit, which isn’t a bad thing, just something to be aware of.

With the vibrant and potent color pay off on the hair, this is almost to be expected. I did wash out my hair color in the kitchen sink, just to be sure I am not staining my bathroom. Hairwashes afterwards did not stain anything on my end.

Overall, really awesome product. It’s a lot thicker and creamier than other color brands on the market – and the smell is amazing. Can highly recommend, and I will continue buying this hair color!.

I wanted to love this hair dye so much, but sadly it just didn’t work for me. Based on the reviews of others, I’m guessing it has something to do with my hair. ?? Anyway, here are the problems I had: 1.

Despite Brad’s claims, one pot was not enough for my whole head. I don’t have crazy hair. It’s curly, barely below my shoulders, normal thickness normal density. I got 3/4 of my head dyed before it ran out.

2. Something about the product made my hair feel almost gummy. even when dry. weeks later. It threw off my curl pattern and my hair was not greasy but something was off. I could tell it was the product because the top 1/4 didn’t get dyed so I had a good comparison haha.

My hair has gone back to normal now but I had a month of bad hair days which sucked. 3. Since I ran out of product, I ordered a second pot the day I dyed my hair. By the time the second pot arrived a few days later, (never shampooed, only rinsed with water) the majority of my pink had rinsed out.

4. While parts washed out so fast, I’m left a month later with the weirdest splotches of pink throughout my hair. Like two spots above my ears. so odd. If you’ve used color like this before and you know it works, I bet this product is great! I wouldn’t recommend it if you are new to dying your own hair or if you have natural curls.

I am a natural brunette, growing out bleach since the pandemic. I like the ‘ashy brown with highlights’ look. I was a big Wella T18 (grey toner) fan. but the 20 volume developer required to make it stick, was turning my roots & ends ORANGE! Ugggh.

So, I tried Alien Grey semi at first, but it was subtle & only affected my lighter ends. this Amplified Dark Star worked much better to tone down the brassy warmth. My natural greys were not affected much, but they and the last of my light bits were a nice lavender grey.

And they blend in with the brown hair which is much cooler in tone now. The roots look much better and orange has been tamed! I will add some more later next week and see if I can’t get my brown back to its original neutral tone in a maintenance routine.

But this really helps, if you have ‘orange problems’ or your goal is ashy-purple-brown. Some things, you should leave to a pro, but it was a great quick fix. If I had really saturated it more, it would probably be more dark and cool toned.

If you have light hair it will def show as a lovely silvery lavender grey. I left one bottle on for maybe an hour with plastic cap, no heat, and rinsed with tepid water, no shampoo. Air dry, and give yourself a little conditioning on the ends, not too oily.

I would warn that generally MP colors do rough hair up a little bit – it may be ‘vegan’ product but it is not necessarily a conditioning product. I used a Hask purple conditioner & will use their purple shampoo later.

This hair color is and does exactly what it says- even for purple! I applied it to my 6 year old’s hair because she SOOOO wanted to be like mommy! Mind you, she was in the first grade and they weren’t allowed to do any of that stuff! However, I applied to her light brown, wavy hair in chunked sections and turned out perfect! You could see a beautiful prismatic purple in the sunlight but just her lovely brown indoors.

I showed her and she flipped out and fell in love! Best of all, it was gone within around 8 washes! We were fans for life!.

My hair is going gray, but I did not want to go back to my natural color, I wanted something more me. This teal comes out beautiful. It’s vibrant, my white hairs look like sapphires and it lasts for much longer than the non natural splat version of the same colors.

The smell is similar to melted crayons, and doesn’t sting my nose. The best part is that even as it fades it’s still a lovely green teal color, and other than touching up the roots, needs very little dye to bring it back to a stronger blue teal.

I had wanted to dye my hair a bright color for years, and never had until now. But I could not be happier with the results! Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink is so vibrant and absolutely gorgeous! Now, I honestly don’t know why it took me so many years to attempt coloring my hair, and I have a feeling that using Manic Panic is going to be a new addiction! I definitely recommend this dye to anyone who wants would love their hair to be a vibrant, bright, and powerful hot pink hue.

I did have best results on the top of my head where I achieved a lighter shade of yellow with bleach before adding the color. The rest of my hair revealed a slightly redder pink tint, where my yellow bleached hair came out slightly darker.

However, it was still a beautiful color all around!.

I love manic panic in general. Have been using it since I was a freshman in High School and living in Brooklyn. The colors are always vibrant, don’t wash out TOO easily, unless you really want them gone, and easy to apply and saturate well.

I’m 28 now and decided that I really wanted a neon green money piece this summer. My money piece turned a little into a thick money stack, but I love it nonetheless. The color is super vibrant against my platinum blonde hair.

I have gotten numerous compliments on my green hair from young AND old, EVERY single day that I left my house. It was very easy to use this electric lizard semi permanent dye and it saturated my hair evenly.

I was a little worried with how small the jar is but so far I’ve dyed my hair 2 times and I still have 3/5 of them jar left. If I were to do my entire head I would probably need to use the entire jar, however, with the longevity of this color, I think it’s worth the price tag.

If I really wanted to strip my hair of this color, it wouldn’t be too hard to do either. Another cool thing my husband and I just realized last night after I installed new light changing bulbs in our bedroom is that if you have a blue bulb, your hair will glow! Super neat! All in all, I highly recommend Manic Panic, in essentially any color, if you’re looking to spice up your hair for a temp time!.

I tried the coloring conditioner first. My hair is naturally medium-to-dark brown with some gray and some highlights that I’m growing out. The highlights have been getting brassier with time, and I hoped the “Extreme Silver” would tone that yellow down and help blend them in.

(I had tried a few different purple and blue shampoos that are supposed to tone down brassiness. Some of them did nothing and irritated my scalp, and some helped a little, but not enough to fix it. ) The Extreme Silver did all that and more.

My natural brown went a shade darker and cooler, the highlights practically disappeared, and the silver streaks are more subtle, a little cooler and darker, like metallic pewter-gray instead of white.

A little bluish in tone, but not blue. I really like the color and the conditioner made my hair soft and shiny. The color faded a bit after the first shampoo, so the next time I washed my hair I used the daily conditioner, and that brought some of the color back.

I guess if I want to make the color last, I should use that every time. It’s good to know, though, that when I want to stop, the Overtone color should just fade out instead of having to grow out.

I am in love with this product! My hair was dry from bleaching and now it’s soft, silky and shiny. I have natural black brown hair but have bleached my hair with highlights and was a very light brown with a lot of blond.

Because I’m getting more white hairs I decided to go dark but didn’t want to dye it bc I don’t want to dye my roots every couple weeks. I got the duo and have used both the color conditioner and daily conditioner.

I’ve used the color conditioner twice and still have enough product left for one more treatment. I have a lot of daily conditioner left and have only used it twice. The color is deep and rich, great pigment.

My hair is almost to my waist, it’s long. I put it on dry hair and comb through, left it on for 45 minutes on my roots and 25 for the rest. It covers my white hairs pretty good, they aren’t as black as the rest of my hair and still have a slight purple tinge to them but they blend nicely and it’s better than dying my roots all the time.

It is messy to use, stains my tub/shower, and you really have to rinse it well which is hard to do and time consuming. But I feel it’s worth the clean up and extra rinsing to have healthy shiny hair instead of damaging my hair with dye.

And it’s nice to be able to use it as needed instead of having roots for weeks at a time. I only wash my hair twice a week since using this product, my hair gets less greasy bc it’s so moisturizing. So I’m washing my hair less and it stays cleaner longer bc it’s not stripped of moisture.

Love it!.

The conditioner itself made my hair feel the softest it has ever been, and it lasted after the first few washes, so I could tell it had truly soaked in and nourished my hair. I also loved how rich the color was and how it kept the highlights I had previously done, but within the new color scheme.

My hair was very shiny and saturated. Unlike dyes, even though it did get on my forehead, it didn’t stain. I actually had several people tell me I looked like it would be my natural hair color, specially because it didn’t “dye” my scalp.

However, I did not have the hair color I was expecting. I purchased the chocolate brown kit to put over my medium/light brown highlighted hair. The conditioner was a deep, neutral brown color in the tub, but after the 15-20 min processing time, I had burgundy/red hair.

As it washed out and faded, it became more and more ginger until my highlights looked as orange as the fruit (about 6 washes or a month). I did not use the daily conditioner because I wanted it to wash out, but I did not realize it would wash out like that lol! I eventually used a color stripping product t remove the unwanted red/orange.

Like I said, I will most likely use this product line again, but with a different color. I am guessing that my hair just pulled all the red tones of the brown out, and didn’t neutralize. And the color did look very natural initially, so I’m not mad at it.

Just a little bummed.

I bought this to dye my hair for the first time. Easy delivery and payment, and once I had gloves (not supplied) I went ahead! I chose 4 different colours and had fun putting them onto strands of naturally white hair.

First wash your hair, then colour, then rinse, couldn’t be simpler! I left it on longer than stated, about 40 minutes as I hadn’t bleached my hair at all. My hair is nice and glossy now and I’m pleased with the outcome.

Excellent colour depth from this vegetarian semi-permanent dye. I used over bleached hair, because my natural colour is dark brown and the result is really vibrant. Having used it over several years, I know it lasts well too.

I used Midnight blue at the front.

Really nice colour, easy to use. Only difficulty was we couldn’t find the instructions in English so got a friend to translate from Spanish! Very happy with the product.

3 stars because: it’s the only vivid color shampoo you can get here in Sweden. If you have brightly colored hair, the ONLY way you can maintain color is with a color-depositing shampoo and conditioner.

The conditioner is a bit easy, because you can make your own hack by adding direct deposit dyes to conditioner. But the shampoo is just as essential. Enter here Viral shampoo. It does the job. BUT; I can’t stand the smell, the lather is inconsistent (Your hair needs to be really wet, and you need a rather large amount of product) and the overall feeling after continued use is drying.

Probably not what you want, if you are bleaching your hair often like me. You will need to do bonding masks often to maintain hair integrity. With the pastels, the shampoo will likely not dye your hands, but for the vivid s, beware.

Your nails and skin will be colored for days if you’re not wearing gloves while washing.

Adds color while you shampoo. Ounce per ounce, it is a bit pricey and it doesn’t seem to lather up as much. So compared to ordinary shampoos, you may end up using more of this product to feel like you’ve gotten you hair clean enough, to where you’d expect it to be, having just washed it.

It works best on color treated hair but if you’re using this product for the first time, you shouldn’t expect to see the vivid color results like the hair swatches on the website or the ads. If you’re using this shampoo to maintain your already ultra-bright hair color, it should work beautifully— provided you follow the directions carefully.

If you’re starting with hair that’s just been bleached light blonde or platinum, you should see great results too— provided you allow it enough time (several minutes) to soak in. If you’re building on hair that’s been dyed, but it’s a “normal “ hair color, then you’ll likely get wonderful jewel tones.

Pretty, but nowhere near the bright colors you saw, that probably got your attention. Use nylon or plastic gloves. At first, I felt it went without saying because it IS hair coloring, but after reading several other comments, I want to reiterate: even though gloves are not included, they are recommended.

And just like with traditional hair color, you should also apply a thin layer of protection around your hairline before using this product too. You can use either a proprietary product or your own, just create some kind of a barrier with an oil-based product (like Vaseline or AD ointment) something that won’t be absorbed but rather prevent the color from soaking into your skin while you’re waiting for the color to set.

Wipe away any blobs of excess color that might get onto your ears or face too.

Since my brunette hair can’t hold purple color very long, I was going through desperate lengths to keep it looking fresh and vibrant. I was limiting hair washing down to 3 times a week, using the coldest water I could stand and top of the line shampoos/conditioner that either specialize in fade prevention or advertise color protection; I even installed a soft water filter in my shower head! My stylist recommended me get it colored every 6 weeks, due to it just washing down the drain in a matter of weeks and that is just something I can’t afford to do that often; She educated me of this line and I cant live without it!! My hair looks as it did the day I left the salon.

This stuff has saved me so much money because it is no longer necessary for me to get my hair colored every 6 weeks, but more like 3 or 4 times a year! Sometimes it dries my hair out, but nothing a leave in conditioner or deep conditioning treatment can’t fix.

If I could change one thing it would be them offering a much larger size, because I go through this every 2 – 3 months or so. Yes it will get everywhere and could stain your tub/shower but I use a tile cleaner with bleach and it eliminates all of it as if nothing happened.

I also don’t use this alone, I layer my favorite color protection shampoo over the colorwash and fade prevention(moisture adding) conditioner over the colorditioner, both assist with shine, keep it maintained and preventing my hair from getting brittle.

A must have for hair color fanatics!.

Ive always used LaRiche ever since I discovered them over 10 years ago so I can wholeheartedly recommend the brand. But each colour has its own pigment problems. Unfortunately yellow dyes dont stick well and Sunflower is no exception.

Luckily I have very short hair so the tub lasts me for months (you dont have to use it all in one go you can save it for up to 3 months after you open it). But I will have to keep topping up the colour every week or so.

But the colour is glorious! And the quality is the usual LaRiche standard so buy with confidence.

*I used Alpine Green* I used to dye my hair bright fun colours, I’ve tried many different brands but this one was gifted to me by a friend and it was by far the best. The colour didn’t fade after a wash like many others and was the richest one by far! I used to mix mine with loads of conditioner so it wasn’t so vibrant and it worked amazing.

It was applied on top of white-bleached hair and always gave a clean outcome. If I were to dye my hair bright again, I would definitely reach for la Riche! ☺️.

I bought the colour Ebony and never has any other hair dye, black or another colour. stainer so much as this did. The floor of my shower is completely blue, and so is my back. So be aware of that. My hair is black, so it did work.

The undertone is not the best and some spots look a bit greenish. I had light pink hair before applying Ebony. However, I have used pinks and oranges from Directions before, and those were good for the price and fade nicely.

But again, there are better options.

Originally when I picked the color off the lime crime website it looked more like a tan neutral almost with subtle hints of peach close to nude color, and then when it arrived and the I swatched it – it was so far from what it looked like on the website? Hence why I usually don’t like purchasing make up mostly “lipsticks” online.

However, I was extremely surprised how beautiful it was with little to no make up on and just very light mascara and lashes and how beautiful it went with my pale skin it wasn’t too dark and it wasn’t too late it’s the perfect shade for any occasion.

I wouldn’t say it’s a nude color, I guess it could be placed in the nude category but I’ve found it had more hues of browns grays purples almost like a very dry it out purple with subtle and when I say subtle I mean very subtle hints of pinks and peaches and just all sorts of colors that I can’t quite point my finger on may be a little bit of a gray but mix those all together and you get this beautiful cashmere color that goes on smooth! I love that it’s a liquid lipstick aka VELVETINE matte (so I know it won’t be coming off on my teeth, clothes, drinks or even when I’m eating greasy foods – THIS HAS STAYED PUT!) I’ll even go as far as saying it lasted one very long passionate date night with my husband 🙊🙈😂 (insert blushing emoji here)  This was actually my second time purchasing this shade, and I would definitely purchase it again and again! Limecrime has great sales from time to time so make sure to look out for that! I think they’ve rebranded their website at showing the exact color on different skin tones and even have multiple lips pictured so you have a better idea how it will look, from when it was just the same pair of lips that was always pictured in every shade! I recommend any of limecrime’s liquid velvetines as they are soft on the lips and go on very smoothly.

I first tried mystic on my dark/medium blonde hair, unbleached. It definitely came out like a teal, which I would normally be fine with, but it was a very green leaning teal. Most, if not all, blondes do not want green hair.

I hated it, but I somewhat expected it since blue+yellow=green. The next day I got blue smoke and put it over the weird teal-ish mystic and it was amazing. It ended up being a gorgeous royal smoky blue, exactly what I wanted.

It started fading, as expected, and I wanted just a really quick refresh so I used the mystic again for maybe 20 minutes, figuring there was no way it would turn green again since I was putting blue on top of blue.

It turned green again. Somehow, even more green than before. I have a lot of art experience and for the life of me, I can’t figure out how blue+blue=green. I genuinely thought the green tones wouldn’t show up on top of such a deep blue.

Now I’m mixing pony with blue smoke because I’m so scared of any sort of green tones showing up in my hair. It honestly has caused me so much anxiety and stress, which I have enough of without having green hair.

All of that being said, this formula is phenomenal. It smells good and is so creamy and easy to use. I used to have issues with my most bottom layer against my neck getting so knotted and I had to brush my hair multiple times a day to keep it from matting.

After using this, I haven’t had to brush it more than once in the morning and once before sleeping. My hair came out so shiny and healthy. I’ll definitely be stick with this brand, even if only a few of the colors.

I bought the shade Valentine, hoping that it would nicely cover my faded green hair. I had really high hopes for this brand, and I was super excited to try out red! However, I left the product in for two hours (as instructed), and even after the first wash, my hair turned pink, a lavender shade, gray, and even blue! I do understand that since I didn’t have bleached hair under the product that it could’ve had an effect, but after reading other reviews, especially about the shades of reds and pinks, I think this is a common occurrence, even for those with bleached hair.

If you have any desire to go red or pink, I would personally go to another brand. I still would really love to give this brand another chance with green though! I’ve read mostly positive things about it.

I did give it two stars, only because I didn’t experience any product bleeding while my hair was dry, and the product had a very nice smell to it. That being said, I would definitely recommend showering carefully to avoid staining your bathtub, because when your hair is wet, it goes everywhere.

I had put my hair light-medium blonde hair through three days of hell trying to remove a permanent toner that turned my hair a dull gray. Soap cap, baking soda, dandruff shampoo, dishwashing liquid, color remover—you name it.

By the time I was done, my hair was orange. I tried to correct it by putting a dark blonde color over it, but it was still brassy with plenty of red/orange tones. In despair, I drove to the local Walgreen’s and purchased a box of Garnier Extra Light-Ash Blonde 111 (White Chocolate,) hoping that the ash color would take care of the brass.

I applied it, left it on for 30 minutes and prayed. After rinsing and applying the after-color mask, I was ecstatic to see that my hair was a light beige blonde with slightly darker and lighter tones.

I will most likely have to use a purple shampoo to keep the cooler tone of my hair, but I am totally ok with that. I know that there are a lot of negative reviews on here comparing the older formulation to the new, but this was perfect for me.

I can’t believe how soft and shiny my hair is, because it literally looked and felt like straw before using this hair color. A total winner and a total lifesaver. Best box hair color I’ve ever used.

I tried out the Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Crème in a light brown shade. I have naturally dark brown hair with auburn tint in my hair, so I wanted to go a little lighter brown for the summertime.

The kit has everything you need and is super easy to use/apply, which I appreciate as other dyes can be quite difficult to use. It also wasn’t messy at all, which is a huge plus for dying hair in an apartment.

I loved how healthy it made my hair feel after dying, like so smooth and silky. It’s now been three weeks since and my hair is still feeling really healthy. However, the dye color didn’t work on me at all.

You can not even tell I dyed my hair unless I am in the sun, then you can see some highlights that look kind of light !but barely. If anything, it made my hair a little more red tinted than it naturally is, which is kind of strange.

I probably should have used bleach before using this, but the box had a picture of what my hair color would look like after using the dye and it was close enough to the color I wanted. Either this dye isn’t very pigmented or my hair just didn’t take to it at all.

Either way, I have used this dye in the past and had positive results, so it might just be the color I chose this time around.

For years I’m using L’Oreal Superior Preference 9G Light Golden Blond hair color creme. Always excellent, true golden color-tone that lasts me 8 weeks. It was time to color my hair but I couldn’t find this product, so I decided to try Garnier Nutrisse color cream in the shade 93 Honey Butter which described as Light Golden Blond on the box.

Omg! The color turned out ashy (which I hate bc it reminds me of my grey hair) with some weird pink undertone. Whatever grey hair I had – they came out same grey without getting any coverage. The instructions are identical to my favorite L’Oreal color creme, so I couldn’t do anything wrong while using Garnier product.

Appled and waited for 25 minutes, then rinsed it. Eveen remaining true golden color on my hair from last coloring session disappeared and turned into ashy ugly color. I can’t wait now to get rid of it ASAP! I can’t belive this product works for other people.

Waste of time, waist of money, awful results.

Please read about your color before you do it yourself. If you refuse to/cannot lighten your hair before the process, you will NOT achieve the most vibrant results. More importantly, especially before you lighten or color, the current tone and level of your hair needs to be understood in relation to what color you would like to end up with.

Example: a deeper shade of blue like this is the complementary color to red-orange. When you mix or dye over a complementary color, the result is brown. Possibly tinted, but ultimately brown, as those opposing colors neutralize each other.

So you’ve basically gone from a warm brown to a cool one in terms of apparent hair color. In terms of level, a typical light-to-medium brown is around a 5-7. If you want to dump the bottle on your head and turn out with mermaid hair, you *have* to lift as high as your hair can tolerate, with 10 being the lightest/highest.

When you lighten even one or two levels it gives the pigment something to cling to. A similar thing happens when you shampoo but don’t condition (like you usually should before dye) and failing to do so can cause your natural oils to not only prevent color saturation, but cause streaky uneven results.

Another important note: even with pre-lightened hair, color needs to be left in for much longer than directions imply. In fact what is printed on most bottles is simply a bare minimum for even slight change.

Most users let set and saturate for 6+ hours (basically however long you can tolerate/at least 2/until it starts to dry under your cap) and is another reason it’s important to know what you’re doing before you buy.

On blue specifically: most will fade to some sort of green. On that note it can bolster your color to either start there in the first place as a base, mix some in with your blue to give it some depth, or be ready to layer on that same blue color for awhile to get desired results.

I have being dying my hair bright, vibrant red for just over five years now, and Arctic Fox has been part of my color maintenance routine since day one. Vibrant red hair is not easy to maintain and keep from fading quickly, which can very quickly do serious damage to your hair if your only using ammonia-based chemical dyes every time you need to refresh your color.

Arctic Fox doesn’t damage hair at all. In fact, it helps undue the damage caused by permanent dyes because it doesn’t have any harsh chemicals that strip hair. Arctic Fox is actually GOOD for your hair and works just like a conditioner, not like a hair dye.

I add Arctic Fox to my regular conditioner (sulfate free of course) so that every time I wash my hair I’m also keeping my red looking vibrant and even healthier every time. I always wash my hair using the coolest water I can tolerate and after I shampoo I apply my premixed bottle of 3/4 sulfate free conditioner, 1/4 Arctic Fox Wrath + a dollop of Violet Dream and let it sit on my hair secured on top of my with a claw clip while I finish the rest of my shower routine, just like I would do with a nourishing hair mask.

Once my routine is done, I rinse out my hair thuroughly in cool water and towel dry it only so I get the most out of conditioning my hair, and viola! My looks, feels softer and healthier than before I washed it, plus my red still looks like it did the day I first day I dyed it.

It’s a win win. Not only does Artic Fox keep my red looking great, but it leaves my hair healthier every time also. Plus the custom colors you can create by mixing different different Arctic Fox colors together are endless! I was amazed at the color i got by mixing Purple AF + a touch of Aquamarine! It sounds crazy to mix aquamarine and deep purple together, but the color came out a multidimensional dark blue/purple-ish color that changes color depending on how the light hits it.

It’s my new favorite color! It does come out very dark, so I apply it (no conditioner added) to the bottom 1/3 of my hair and lightly pull the color upwards into my red to get a perfect blended fade from bright red to deep blue/purple.

I get compliments on my hair every day and people always ask me how I keep my color looking so bright all the time. Arctic Fox, that’s how! =).

Absolute garbage hype beast brand. Just a disclaimer, I don’t think I purchased both of my bottles at Ulta, but I did the Violet Dream for sure, and I’ve used them twice in combo now, and I can say with absolute certainty that I will never be buying Arctic Fox again and will try to steer anyone clear that I can.

Save your money, other brands are far better. Even Manic Panic with it’s eternal staining and bleeding will at least actually stick to hair and Ulta carries them. And to be clear: I followed all the instructions.

I was careful that my hair was freshly washed, no conditioner or product whatsoever, dry obviously. I used more dye than necessary just to be safe, wrapped the dyed sections in foil and then bag heat processed the whole shebang.

The end result: I’ve got sections of purple from the Girls Night Out and Violet Dream combo I just applied, I’ve got the old faded green sections from a much better brand in random spots, and one side took completely differently despite being treated the same way so I’ve got one mostly purple streak with green here and there, and one slightly purple, slightly green with some awesome sections with no dye.

Oh yes that’s right. I had sections where the old dye had faded so completely that it was back to platinum blonde. Guess which parts it didn’t stick to? Yeah. Those bits. Bleached but healed platinum blonde.

Covered some sections of green just fine, but apparently a blank slate is a bridge too far for this brand. And yes, they were definitely covered in dye; I went overboard because my first attempt using this brand was laughable results-wise.

Turns out, that’s just how this brand do. I have no idea where all these people that worship this brand are coming from. Are they wearing wigs, is it dyed with another brand? Because there’s no way they’re using this stuff.

It barely sticks to hair, so how are these people getting full, evenly dyed bright hair huh? Super sus.

I am absolutely in love with this semi- permanent hair dye. I did have dark hair and had to lighten it first bc I wanted bright color and not just a tint of color, and I did use the Arctic Fox bleach kit which I will review next.

To get this gorgeous candy apple red color I mixed the colors Poison and Wrath. First off the first thing that I noticed that was different from regular box dye that I used to use all the time is that the Arctic Fox hair dye does not have harsh chemical fumes.

I used to hate when my eyes would burn from the strong fumes from the box dye. The Arctic Fox hair dye doesn’t smell like chemicals at all, instead has a grape candy smell to it which smells so good and leaves your hair smelling good for days after.

This dye was very easy to apply and is very very pigmented. It will stain so be careful with getting it on your skin or clothes. I put some conditioner around my hairline and it didn’t stain my skin whatsoever.

Also it rinsed out very easily and left my hair feeling so so soft even though I had bleached it the night before. With box dye my hair used to feel so dry and look so dull after rinsing the color out.

But with Arctic Fox my hair looked so shiny and felt so smooth and soft, and the color is absolutely stunning. This is def going to be my go to hair dye for a long time bc it was such an enjoyable experience and the results are better than I imagined.

Plus it didn’t stain my tub, it did leave it a little slippery bc of all the conditioning agents but otherwise so so good.

I have been coloring my hair using Goldwell Elumen haircolor for more than 3 years. I have very long, thick, wavy dark blonde hair. I do an all over color using 2 different colors – Pink layered over Blue.

I have never bleached my hair, but the colors are bright enough to make my dirty blonde hair pop, just not so florescent-like. I usually buy the colors and Lock on Amazon. Otherwise you’ll need a beautician license to buy it at a store like Cosmo Prof.

My hair always feels soft and looks nice and shiny after using Elumen hair color. I do not feel like my hair has suffered any damage even though I’ve had it fully colored for 3 years. The color lasts for a long time.

For me I notice the pink will just start fading out after about 4-6 weeks. I’ve never let it go more than 2 months so I can’t say what the fade would be like over a long period of time. I find the product very simple and straightforward to use.

The dye (before applying the Lock) will stain your skin and scalp and anything else it gets on. I’ve successfully bleached it off of everything (floors, sinks, walls) except a leather couch and a bamboo stool.

Once the color is set in with the Lock, it should easily wash out of anything without needing bleach. I use white towels that end up looking tie-dyed and they wash just fine. I apply a layer of Vaseline around my hairline to prevent the color from staining my face/ears/neck.

However, it will stain your scalp. The pink literally turns your scalp a nice bright neon pink. Coconut oil does a fairly good job, but bleach on a cotton ball also works to get it off. It usually takes 3-4 shampoos before the color will wash off the scalp/skin.

I recommend this hair color (especially for the fun, bright colors) to people all the time due to its brilliance, lasting color, and ease of use.

This is by far my absolute favourite hair colour! 💜🦄💟Elumen never fails to provide long-lasting vibrant colours! The purple colour has a beautiful shine and makes my hair feel so soft! I often pair it with a pink or blue also from Elumen! If your looking for a colour that’s guaranteed to last, ask your stylist if they work with Elumen products! 😍💜💕💙👩‍🎤.

Decided to splurge and have the elumen put into my hair. The colour was vibrant and supposed to be healthy. It did fade a bit after a few days, you can see the colour washing out. They said it would last about 4 months which is why I paid so much for it.

We’ll see.

I love manic panic so much honestly, so i’ve never dyed my hair before and I was able to choose between manic panic or arctic fox and I’m so glad I chose manic panic. First off it was really easy to apply, we had a little bit of trouble at first because the brush didn’t really fit in the jar and we didn’t really want to use the dye bowl so we just kinda used the glove that was included in the bleach kit and slapped it on and it was really creamy and nice.

After I fully saturated the parts I was dying I still had more than half the container left which is amazing but keep in mind I only did the underside of my hair and my bangs. I slept overnight with it which, yes, it is safe to do that but I had to read up on it so I did that and I put the cap on from the bleach kit and a plastic bag and slept.

When I woke up my hair felt so nice honestly and the dye was still wet, probably because my head sweat or something (gross) but I showered and I noticed that it was a little bit hard to get all the dye out and i wasn’t sure whether i should have shampooed or not but I know when I got I still had color in.

My hair is wavy and I wasn’t sure what it would do so I didn’t put in any products and I just left my hair to dry. My hair didn’t even get frizzy while air drying, It kind of just felt very soft and conditioned and it had lots of volume and I was pleasantly surprised.

Its been around 1 and a half months and It is just starting to fade which is crazy to me and its almost turning into a peachy pink almost. So here are some things i’d like to include, I thought it would be a more purpley-pink color but It turned out to be hot pink which I am not even mad about and I kind of love it more, I wash my hair every other day which I was skeptical about and I thought it would make the color fade fast but it really hasn’t faded fast and if you go longer without shampooing it will probably last you even longer.

Overall I will not be using any other dyes other than manic panic.
