20 Best Tuxedo For Overweight (2022 Updated)

The tux itself is fantastic. What I’m not thrilled about was BUYING a tux from Men’s Wearhouse online and receiving the tux to only discover that it was a previously worn tux jacket. Why was this sold for full price? This is not the way to create return customers for your business.

The tux is a great tux and looks good however two important things to note: #1- it doesn’t look like a tux unless you really look for tux features. The lapel is not a shiny material and the tux overall looks like a suit other then the line down the pants and the buttons being black.

Not necessarily a terrible thing but it does not give the appearance of a tux. #2- slim fit is comical. I got this for my wedding and got another suit apart of the sale. Both are slim fit and the same size.

The other suit fits significantly better then this one. I’m swimming in this suit (I’m 6’5 235 and a size 48XL). I took it to a special tailor that makes custom suits and he basically had to build me an entire new suit out of this one (take in the pant legs and take in the arms so I don’t look like the Michelin man which I never have to do).

He didn’t have to do it on the other slim fit. Those are my two grievances. Overall it looks sharp which is why I gave it a four but prepare for it to not give the classic impression of a tux and be prepared to do some serious alterations.

I need tuxedo for my wedding. However, there was not much time for me to prepare. I bought Vera Wang-Black on line with 60% off and asked for expedited shipping. Four days before my wedding, the tuxedo came to my home.

However, the shirt was oversized (my mistake to choose a wrong size shirt) and the sleeve of jacket was a little bit longer than what I expected. I went to store the other day in the morning when they opened the store.

the gentlemen who served me was extraordinarily nice. He changed the shirt right away and trim the pants length after he measured the length of my leg. He also suggested me to adjust the the length of my jacket in another store of Men’s wearhouse because there were no tailors in his store at that time.

Since there was only two days left and it would take a little bit more time, I almost gave up the choice of shortening my jacket sleeve. But when I drove to the place where he told me, the tailor in store said she can finish it in two days with no expedited fee right before my wedding day.

I cannot believe my ear then! Finally, I got everything at the day right before my wedding. Thank Men’s Wearhouse so much! You guys reserved the five-star excellent comment.

I bought this suit for my 15yr old son. He was performing in a Christmas play and needed a suit. He is 5. 9ft and 165lbs. He is a competitive swimmer, so I was worried about fitting him through the chest and he has a slim waist.

The jacket and vest for him perfect, but the pant waist were too big. He was able to wear a belt and the vest covered any bagginess. The play was a success and everyone commented on how handsome he looked.

I have it 4 stars for the fit of the pant.

I got this 3 Piece suit for a party. Was a perfect fit, very perfect design. This is one of the finest suit with the super fine fit and super fine Quality. one of the best suit i have ever brought and among the best of the many suits I have.

Before trying the x-fit style on, I did not imagine it would be right for me. I don’t consider myself extreme slim, instead I would say I’m about 10-15lbs out of athletic. Nonetheless, I preferred the cut of this suit because it gave a truly tailored appearance and it was clear the quality exceeded others in the price range.

Another store I visited measured me and told me I was 43L, I am very happy with the fit of the 44R I purchased instead.

This is the second suit I’ve bought from Happy Gentleman. Great quality suit. Superb fit. Really fast delivery.

Suit looked great ordered size above normal for comfort when it arrived it was too small, I went to my local shop and tried on the size suit I ordered and it fitted perfectly so I think your suit sizes need to be looked at and the suit I bought was £99 for the same.

Nothing special. I thought with the trousers they had a silk stripe down the outside of trousers.

I was very very satisfied with the tuxedo. The event that I’m going to is my 1970 class reunion and I know that that I am gonna be very very elegant. I’m sure that several people are going to know where I purchase the tuxedo and I will gladly let them know that I purchased from gentleman’s guru.

Beautiful tuxedo. Fits true to size. Just not sure why a maroon bow tie was sent. It doesn’t go with the suit. Overall very satisfied with the quality and fit.

Ordering online can be tough, but this jacket was perfect. Fabric, cut, color, fit was exactly what I was looking for. I’m 6’4″ but have narrow shoulders. Couldn’t have fit better if I’d tried it off the rack.

Styling was good but should use better quality material.

This is a GREAT looking suit that is well tailored with the Sharkskin fabric; unfortunately, there is nothing slim on me any more, even going up a size did not help me with this suit. I exchanged this suit for a regular fit suit with a banded collar which works better for me.

Very nice suit, great fit and excellent speedy delivery. The initial size I ordered was a size too small but that was easily rectified with a phone call and I got the re-order as efficiently as the the first order.

The suit outlet is top notch – once you can verify your sizes their products fit very well – any alterations I have done at my local cleaners. I’m more athletic therefore I often have to have the waist taken up.

After losing some serious weight, I am finally able to buy a suit off the rack. Canali is top of the line and this all purpose suit required only slight tailoring. Three buttons at the top of the zipper, two hidden, gets the fit just right.

No indents at the shoulders, lets the jaket drape for a perfect fit.

This this the third Canali product I bought. The sports coat was a 46R7 and with a bit of good tailoring it fit like a glove. I thought that a suit would be the same. The 46R7 was too big and the 44R7 was better.

The problem was that in both there was a gathering of a c-shaped cloth between the arm and the chest. In the back, there was an accordion of ridges. It was very poor craftsmanship. Obviously I still bought it because the tailor, who did a great job, thought she could fix it.

The c-shape remains, although, to a lesser extent, but I had to settle with the ridges of the shoulder pad protruding in the back and a front flap that does not close flat. This is the top of the line off-the-rack suit that Bloomingdales carries.

Canali lacks quality control.

I had a problem with some inferior (very rare) stitching on a Canali suit. I took it back to the Charlotte store and spoke with Hade Robinson, the department manager, and the sales associate Beverly.

They couldn’t have been more helpful. The Nordstrom guarantee is wonderful. The associates at this store were courteous, professional and extremely accommodating to my needs. Their styling advice and fit suggestions were spot on.

Elegant, comfortable and fashionable jacket. The AI assistant is reliable. It hasn’t made a mistake so far. Only the colour is different from that in the picture. It is more grey in reality.

I was looking for an affordable suit as I have a dress code at work that is very smart-looking. This one does the job (no pun intended). I received lots of compliments from it. Would recommend it! And the trousers that comes with it is perfect.

Bought for my husband along with some other items in the sale to give him more smart options after a job change. Jacket goes with most colour or material trousers and looks tailored. Absolute bargain at the sale price.

Looking for a tux because I was traveling internationally so a rental will cost more than purchasing a tux. I shopped around and this was a great value because the tie and shirt were bundled into the purchase.

My only complaint (and hence the 4 stars) is that I didn’t realize how the bundling worked. There should have been a ‘you forgot’ in the shopping basket or a ‘recommended for you’ with links to the included shirt and tie.

I had to contact customer service and then realized that I had to manually select the shirt and tie at the time of purchase. Otherwise a great deal, great quality.

Had to go to the store for little fitting but overall, decent tax for amazing price ! Available in mid May when all others had no options whatsoever. plus buying online and getting right fit was huge bonus !even at the store people were surprised how we got the right fit when I told them we ordered online.

It’s not the highest quality item but you aren’t paying thousands either.

I ordered this tux in a particular size and when it came in it was just too tight. The customer service were very nice and shipped me the next size up at no cost. I did have to have the Tux and pants altered, but they look great now! James Bond watch out!! 5 stars.

No more. I bought this tuxedo to wear while riding my bike down a California boardwalk because, well, it just feel right. I have never received more complements on an outfit. Its a tux! Men, we need to make this a daily practice again! And this is the tuxedo to buy.

It is slim. It is sexy. It is a statement. You can spend more money on something seemingly more quality, but this tux is just that, QUALITY! Quality fabric and quality craftsmanship. It is a really well made article of clothing.

Like modern day suit of armor. The fit is perfect. I am 6’1″ 160lbs. Size 40R jacket and 32W 34L pant that leaves a perfect 1 welt break at the shoe. No hemming. No taking in. I am just in awe of what great things Banana Republic has been up to.

I bought this jacket with matching trousers. Both are wrong in size, Arrived with broken hangers to start with even though it was packaged correctly in a big box so it must have been broken before. The foil was already broken and resealed with sellotape so I’m assuming someone already returned it for the same reasons.

Poor quality cutting, smaller than the real size should be and mismatched sized lapels. (one side was bigger than the other. ) Also very noticeable. Overall useless. Don’t buy it.

This is a very nice jacket. It has shape, it looks fashionable, it appears to be well made. The color is a deep blue, I liked it- a lot. I was buying something for a black tie wedding and went with the BR slim Italian wool tux.

It has wing, black satin lapels. The shawl lapels on this jacket are of the same wool as the jacket. 48R wasn’t boxy looking.

Like the Tux, its’ style, slim fit, pockets, etc. The blend of wool and other material is much better than other Tuxes that are out on the market. The only reason I didn’t give it a “5” is that I expected it to be a darker royal blue since the picture shows it as darker to what it really is.

If there is a darker royal blue I would like to exchange.

I am very happy with this purchase, which exceeded my expectations. To be sure, I was reluctant about buying a dress jacket online, especially from a company located overseas. After I placed my order, someone from the company contacted me to confirm the size since you cannot return the jacket.

That certainly helped place my mind at ease along with the payment method which required double authentication to prevent fraud. I did not ask to adjust the measurements, but in retrospect I would have gone a slight bit larger in the chest area.

The jacket is a little tight there, which is due probably mostly to me getting a little bigger in that area, but the length measurement appears spot on. The quality of the material and the workmanship is superior.

This jacket has good weight to it. I anticipate it will last a long time. I wish they offered traditional three-piece suits, as I would certainly be a repeat customer.

I became a repeat customer immediately after my test buy, buying 4 additional suits and a blazer, which I thoroughly love! I will highly recommend them to my friends!.

This jacket was excellent for the price. The color really comes out in the light and the fabric feels very soft. I work at a suit store in America and we would probably charge at least $500 for this in store.

Great jacket overall. One thing I would caution though is that if you prefer a longer lapel line, this jacket has a higher buttoning point and thus a shorter lapel line. Still, I would recommend this service to friends and family.

We went into John Lewis but they did not have a lot of suits. We were advised there was a large selection on line. Once on line we were able to order the suit There was a huge selection so I was sure I could find what we needed, but because we were not able to try it on in the store we had to order two of the trousers, jackets and waiscoats.

They ariived a few days later and were exactly what we ordered. The ones that were not needed were returned to the store without any problems. All in all it was easy to order on line but I deducted a point because delivery was rubbish.

I received an email from EVRI to say the items would be delivered between 7 and 9 pm. We had intended to go out but my husband wanted to try the suit on asap because the jacket might have needed an alteration.

The parcel did not arrive. I checked delivery the next day and the next, nothing. It didn’t arrive on the Saturday but when I came home my neighbour 5 doors down knocked saying this parcel was left in his porch that afternoon.

I was relieved that he had brought the parcel to me but was annoyed with EVRI. I know John Lewis didn’t deliver the parcel themselves but they are responsible for who they engage to deliver and everyone knows that EVRI has a really poor reputation for their delivery service.

This is a really nice and simple “every day” suit. The slim fit cut fits really well and is far better than other slim fit cuts from other retailers. It’s a very smart and well-fitting suit for a very decent price.

Not a great fit in the shoulders, don’t really like the cut. Styles in store where very limited, fashion with the fabrics is not great. Every suit look like some 1980s USA cop programme. There is no accounting for style.
