Stay away from Apple TV!!!!! After years of everything being fine I called because my Apple TV service was disabled. I was told it was disabled because of a change back on March 20 when I changed my account.

According to their records I made 6 charges on March 20 to Apple iTunes several of which did not go through. I tried to explain to Torie the customer service rep those were not my charges I don’t use itunes that is not my credit card # and that is not my phone number.

So much for Apples lousy authenticator process which never notified me of changes to my account much less asking my permission. I was told by Torie the be all and end all at Apple the only way to reestablish account is to pay the fraudulent bill with an actual credit card.

How crazy is that??? Apple does nothing to ensure your security and any irregularities it’s like well they can’t explain it and the bill needs to paid. Yes for charges you did not make. Congress please investigate Apple!!!.

I upgraded from the 3rd generation Apple TV and it took a few steps to get used to the new remote features and to get all the apps to work properly over time with the right software updates. For a while I could not stream from Netflix or Hulu without a lot of error messages and interruptions.

After a few days, updates were pushed to the device and everything now works flawlessly. It did take a few days of patience but afterwards it paid off. The new remote track pad is a bit annoying as it can be very sensitive even on the lowest setting for it but it makes up for it by being able to use Siri, controlling your TV with IR like a traditional TV remote and the updates user menus that make it way easier to read from afar and look very sharp.

I’ve also paired my AirPods pros and wow, it’s a really cool feature to have. Games and the new apps that this version can handle is really cool along with the built in storage makes having your movies on hand great! Only knocking one star down for the much needed software updates, remote layout and trackpad sensitivity.

Everyone at home uses an Iphone so we went with an Apple TV instead of other systems like the Chromecast etc. Everything integrates so well. The TV OS is super smooth. We almost never had any bugs in the last few years of purchasing it.

We also use AirPods, so we love to be able to watch TV while the kids are asleep at night and we want to keep things quiet. Only complaint I have is the remote design of the older systems. The touch pad is way too sensitive.

This problem is resolved in the newest remote update, which will we get once our AppleTV retires in the next few years.

I have a long history with Apple products, including the Apple TV, all the way back to the first generation, yes, the large Mac mini looking one, all the way up to the previous 1080p version (not current 1080p version).

I have a Roku 4K as my primary display, but was not using an Apple TV on this as I really like the Roku layout, the abundance of apps, and it’s generally flawless. I had a theater room with a projector, 110” screen, 7.

2. 2 Atmos, but it was 1080 (where my 1080p Apple TV lived). Well, I moved and combined my theater to my living room and now just use the 4K and figured I’d also upgrade to the new 4K Apple TV. I had not really wanted the new one, as the 1080p version was literally perfect, and from my viewing distance, the 55” 4K looked phenomenal with 1080 OR 4K, so I initially held off…until I wanted to try Dobly Atmos audio & use my AirPods Max.

Fast Forward to replacing the 1080p Apple TV with the newest 4K model and holy cow, the increase in speed, the new remote (it’s worth it alone to just upgrade the remote), AirPods instant connection/transfer, Apple Music integration, Home Pod integration…it’s awesome.

Again, I had no desire at all to replace my old 1080p version because I didn’t really feel the updates would be worth the $179 price tag, but for real, it’s worth every bit of that and more. I have found myself discovering old music that’s been updated with Atmos via Apple Music and it sounds incredible (something Roku can’t do).

I now have the hub that Roku was for my theater, but with the added benefit of including the Apple stuff I use all the time on my iPhone & iPad Pro (Apple Music, movies purchased or digitally redeemed when I bought 4K or BluRay copies, private listening via AirPods, instant log-in and account connection via iCloud Keychain…the list just goes and goes).

If you are a diehard Apple user, this really does make more sense than a Roku, and I LOVE my Roku. But there is no going back for me. Again, this new model has absolutely been the best home theater upgrade I’ve done is years and I really didn’t *think* I wanted one, even going as far as asking why anyone would…then I bought mine.

Probably one of the best features is all of my older movies redeemed with Digital Copy are now in 4K, contain the Atmos tracks and I no longer need to use my Xbox One S as a dedicated BluRay / 4K player UNLESS I don’t have a digital copy of that film.

That means I can sell or trade in my physical discs of those movies, putting some money back in my pocket and potentially paying for the Apple TV just by doing that. If you’re on the fence about buying one like I was, just get it.

Picture quality is obviously amazing (and to be fair, this higher end Roku 4K provides identical replay quality – 4K @ 60hz), Atmos support system wide is awesome, AirPods connectivity is awesome, the new remote is awesome, iCloud photos (if you use that) is great, and lastly, all the major player streaming apps are there and the layout & speed is incredible VS some other platforms, especially Amazon Fire devices (BARF).

If you are in the Apple Ecosystem and want to try a different streaming platform, this is hands down the best way to do it.

TraduciMostra in lingua originaleI bought this Apple TV on a friend’s recommendation and because I own an IPhone and find it’s interface easy to use. For at least the last 5 years I have streamed using either my Roku or my TiVo.

I have the TiVo as I primarily watch OTA programs. I recently bought a new tv with google tv as it’s smart tv platform. The TiVo noticeably loads and responds the slowest of these streaming devices. I have had the TiVo for the longest of the devices so probably strongly out of familiarity the interface is the easiest for me.

The Roku I have owned nearly as long as the TiVo. I used it as my primary streaming device until recently purchasing the new tv and appletv. The Roku interface is my preference of all 4 devices and I found it’s remote simple and the the easiest learn.

The google tv is my new tv’s operating system interface. I have only had this tv for about 2 weeks longer than the appletv. The google tv responds very quickly compared to the TiVo and Roku but the appletv seems to respond even much more quickly than the google tv.

I haven’t used the google interface much as I still primarily watch ota using the TiVo. So I have not used the google tv interface and remote enough to have any opinion of use. The appletv seems to process so much faster than the other devices I have mentioned.

When loading any of my streaming services they nearly instantly appear. I still haven’t owned this very long and as I said don’t stream alot. My impression so far of the interface is it is apple and having owned only iPhones very familiar and easy to navigate.

The remote is simple physically a similar simple minimalist buttons as the Roku remote. I am experiencing a slow learning curve mastering the main combination cursor and/or mouse button. It’s used as the primary navigation for the interface and as the forward,reverse,pause,play and etc.

This is the first time I purchased an Apple TV after using two versions of Amazon FireStick and I must say this is just miles better in every single way. Firstly its very fast and smooth without any lag or hiccups when making selections or browsing for content in Netflix or Prime.

The picture and sound quality are superb and even has an option that matches the original frame rate and colour space of the film or TV programme to give you the best possible viewing experience. The device itself is reassuringly heavy and there are only 3 ports at the back for power, HDMI and Ethernet.

At the front there is a tiny white LED when it is powered on. The sides are made from a black shiny plastic which gives is a nice slick look. Internally it supports the latest tech such as HDMI 2. 1, 1G Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.

0, Wi-Fi 6 802. 11ax, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. The remote is solid and made from aluminum and has all the buttons you need including a Siri button for voice commands, which is a joy to use. The only negative is the high price.

But then if you want the best streaming device nothing else comes close. Recommended.

I bought this as an upgrade to another streaming device I bought for £30. I honestly don’t know where to start with this device. Firstly Siri only brings up its own content and stuff from a few other services.

Although the device supports Netflix, Disney+ and Prime apps, Siri does not show content from these apps only it’s own content and a few other lesser known apps. This is very disappointing as other, cheaper mainstream devices offer cross service voice search functionality.

Considering the price of the device this is a a big disappointment. Also streaming video from phone and iPad is glitchy at best ( I have a top of the range Wi-Fi router) and also the remote doesn’t work with my TV even though it supports the hdmi protocol that is needed to make it work.

My TV is brand new – no idea why it doesn’t work but lots of people online talking about having similar issues. If you want a really restricted experience that is designed to push you to apple content then this device is for you.

Otherwise I would strongly urge you to save your money.

Having tried various streaming services across different devices and platforms, the Apple TV 4K is easily the most stable and reliable of them all. It may be the most expensive but if you’ve spent a lot of money already on decent audio visual kit, the Apple TV 4K also offers the best image and sound quality of any I’ve tried.

The ability to match frame rates and dynamic range of the source material means you get to see movies in the form they were intended to be seen at the cinema, at the correct speed and with the best colour reproduction.

Dolby Vision content in particular looks spectacular on a decent OLED or high-spec LCD TV. Compared to Sky Cinema’s UHD HDR movie content, the Apple TV 4K is in a different league when showing 4K HDR movies bought or rented via iTunes.

Hooked up via a home cinema amplifier, Dolby Atmos encoded movies & TV shows are absolutely sensational with full, rounded, multi-dimensional sound. All the main UK catch-up services are available – BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 etc.

and integrate well with the Apple TV operating system. The BBC iPlayer can’t unfortunately show UHD content like it can on many iPlayer apps built into TVs but this will hopefully be updated by Apple in the future.

HD content upscaled by the Apple TV 4K all looks fantastic, really can’t fault it. Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ also show movies and TV shows in pin-sharp 4K with HDR. The Siri remote works extremely well.

You can simply say something like ‘play the next episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ and it will automatically open iPlayer and start playing the next episode. Very simple and extremely quick too. If you own other Apple devices like an iPhone or iPad then it’s easy to view any photos or videos you have on there on your TV screen.

It works well with a snappy interface and plenty of available apps. Probably the best of breed streaming box, but. If you don’t game, save money & get the 32GB version. Extra memory offers no advantage for streaming or performance.

The remote control is really good, especially the pseudo-jog wheel function and Siri voice integration. It’s also not infrared from what I can tell so you don’t need to point it accurately. It doesn’t have any separate digital audio out which makes it less flexible with older HT amps like mine.

It’s all via a single HDMI out. Setup is ridiculously easy if you already have an iPhone; just hold it near the ATV and it sets up networking and account details magically! ATV+ is a bandwidth hog but it results in excellent quality streaming video though there’s not a huge library yet.

It’s unfortunately expensive and you’re a captive to it if you want Airplay2 casting from the Apple ecosystem (for now anyway). Really only worth it for Apple die-hards.

Right now I don’t have an Apple TV at home, but I’m very familiar with it. I owned a couple over the years and always loved it. When I got my newest Sony TV I decided to give Android TV a try. I’m surprised by how much I’ve enjoyed this new OS, but I’m an Apple fanboy and will always prefer it.

The Apple TV will have always the best versions of any app. Also, every new app will always find it’s way to Apple TV first because it’s so mainstream. The UI is very well made, based on the iOS from iPhones but being it’s own thing.

I love that Apple is always working on updates so you’ll never be left behind. The Siri remote it’s my least favorite part of the AppleTV experience. It always feels so weird and inconvenient. In general, the AppleTV is the best streaming device your money can buy.

There’s Roku, Google TV and other, but none will give you a solid experience like Apple does. Right now, the AppleTV hardware is 4 years old. I’m sure that a new iteration is due soon and I’m waiting for it to jump ship.

I’ve been tempted to buy the current 4th gen equipment but I’ll just wait.

You could spend $40 and buy a Fire Stick or a Roku and that’s fine but you get what you pay for. I got my first Apple TV 3 for my birthday years ago and loved it! Then I bought the 4th generation for my Home Theater and nothing is as smooth or reliable.

Now I have one connected to every TV in the house. Get it, get familiar with it and enjoy. Everything about it is better! Watch some YouTube review videos. You won’t be disappointed. By the way, you don’t need 64GB.

Out of the 5 Apple TV’s I only have one 64GB in my theater room for just in case.

I purchased this TV to replace a 55″ Vizio bought in 2019. I like Vizio, but I am disappointed that they don’t seem to last long – so this time I went with an LG set. My viewing room is rather dark, and I have a Vizio 5.

1 soundbar. The Picture – I wasn’t too impressed at first, but I looked at several YouTube videos on how to set up the TV for the best picture. The concensus is to select the picture setting of “FILMMAKER” if it is available.

It is on this set, and I like it. FILMMAKER yields the most accurate colors according to the video experts and it works fine in my room. It is a better picture than the previous Vizio. If you spend more money for a premium set, like an OPLD, you will get a even better picture.

For the money this TV gives an excellent picture. The Sound – Here is a strength of this TV, perhaps all LG’s but I’m not sure of that. With the soundbar on the previous Vizio my wife and I both had issues understanding all the dialog, especially in quiet scenes such when the characters are talking softly.

I hooked up my soundbar using an HDMI cable from the HDMI (ARC) jack on the LG to the HDMI jack on the soundbar. Without making any adjustments, other than turning off the internal speakers on the TV, the soundbar connected immediately to the TV.

Best news is the sound from the soundbar is excellent. Cleaner and chrisper than the sound produced by the same soundbar from the Vizio TV. The most noticiable difference is the dialog is very clear and distinct and much easier to understand at normal listening levels.

Before we were essentially blasting the TV volume just be sure to hear the soft dialog, and we don’t need to do that now. If you buy this TV I’d recommend getting a soundbar too. I can’t comment on the sound from the TV’s internal speakers, but I’m sure a soundbar will produce better sound especially more bass.

I’ve had success with refurbished electronics so that’s what I got here. The price for a new set on sale was even less than refurbished, so either way a good deal. I also got the 4 year protection plan which seemed reasonably priced.

Usually if a TV last 3 to 4 years it will be good for many more years. My set came with the regular remote, some LG sets come with a “Magic Remote”. I find the regular remote needs to aimed carefully to get a response from the TV, an annoyance but I can live with it.

As I was more used to Vizio set up screens it took me awhile to figure out how to fine tune this LG. Overall, I think most people select a TV for the picture. I don’t do games so no comment on gaming.

We have a cable connection, and do stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount , and Peacock. It took a bit but I’ve figured out how to get all the content we enjoyed on the previous TV. The picture is fine for me, but the sound with the soundbar really has me excited about this TV.

I bought this TV sight-unseen based on online reviews and the specs of this model. The color is good and I appreciate the settings which allow the pictures to be viewed as the filmmakers meant them to be.

One of these settings “Filmmaker Mode” was apparently designed and promoted by the movie industry. There is another option though and it is the one I prefer. It is called ISF which is presumably settings chosen by professional monitor calibration technicians to make your TV picture as close as possible to the picture presented on professional monitors used in movie studios.

I recommend using the defaults on these two modes (ISF dark room and ISF bright room) because if the concept is true then you will only adjust your TV further away from the theoretical “ideal” picture.

There are other modes meant for you to try your own adjustments so use those so you can come back to a “known good” if you don’t like the adjustments you have made. My only complaint so far is that the signal meter for tuning on-air DTV is buried in the menu.

A great change to make in the next software update is to move the signal meter into the box where the channel number is displayed so if a channel is weak and you need to turn the antenna, the information is right there for you.

We recently bought this TV, since our previous TV (also an LG) had the picture go out after many years of use. Since we had been pleased with our previous one, we decided we wanted to get another one from LG.

This model has a number of projection options, but we don’t see all that much of a difference between several of them, though others might. I do use the game setting for games and that looks great. It has great sound.

I was considering getting a soundbar for the previous TV, but I’m more sure I’ll get one now, since the sound quality is so good on this model. One thing that should be changed, is that the directions for setting up the TV for use (attaching the supports) are only drawings.

Some text making things a bit more clear would have been helpful. Our son and I were both setting it up and it took us a couple of attempts to get things worked out correctly. You do want to make sure you have something big enough to put the TV on, if you don’t attach it to a wall.

The stand we had for the last TV was too small, but we did have something we could put it on without buying something else, but make sure you do before hand.

I bought another AppleTV4k for my older set – Im accustomed to the oft-damned black remote so I didnt see any reason not to get the earlier model and save $50. Shipping was fast ( I paid a bit extra) and they included an extra power cable in the shipping box since the one in the apple carton had an international plug that wouldnt have worked in the US.

That was unexpected, but no other incompatibilities have materialized, so its not a big deal. Set up was easy especially since I already had an Apple TV so it basically mirrored what had already been downloaded.

All I had to do was log in to the various accounts. Im not sure what I will do with the extra storage space (64 gig vs 32) but the price was right and OWC, as always, was very reliable. The only question I have is whether its eligible for free appleTV+ I already had a subscription, but it would be nice to get an additional 3 months for the new device I didn’t see any indication that was offered.

May need to give Apple a call to determine eligibility but all things considered, it was a great purchase.

Had it about a month now, and, in general, well satisfied. Pros: For this price range, terrific size and very good picture. The feature set is LG standard, with a good selection of aps and services ready to go.

Cons: Ours is a wall mount setting and this TV is not designed to be wall-mount friendly. First, the power cord is about 1. 5 meters long; the shortest power cord I’ve seen on a major piece of electronics ever.

But secondly–and more importantly–the HDMI, USB and antenna connections on the rear are extremely difficult to reach and impossible to see once the TV is on the wall. And if you’re wanting to keep the wires hidden, then you’ve almost got to have it on the wall before hooking up the power, HDMI etc, cables.

Very difficult. Recommend a tilting wall mount bracket. Another mild Con would be the sound, which I’d rate at acceptable. For comparison, we have a 65″ LG OLED65BXPUA in the den which has a far superior built-in sound system.

Of course, it cost almost triple what this set cost. The remote that came with the OLED is OK, not fabulous. By comparison to the one that came with this TV, it’s state of the art. Poorest remote I think I’ve ever owned.

Only way they could have made it worse is by not labeling all of the identical buttons. Bottom Line: Hard to beat at this price point. Be sure you have one or two helpers if doing a wall mount. Remote control is pitiful.

Might want to consider a good sound bar and another remote. Very good picture and features.

I bought a defective TV. I bought a house in June, moved in in September. My house wasn’t a move in ready house so we were doing work on the house. I bought the TV in November because it was on sale.

I brought it home opened it plugged it it in. It came on. No cracks, no visible physical problems with the TV. So I unplugged and placed back in the box until our room was ready to set up. I must note I only had the TV plugged in for about 5-10mins.

Come February when our room Is ready and we went to set up the TV it was playing well for about 15mins until the sound was scratchy and the picture started fading. Eventually, the TV turned off on it own and wouldn’t come back on.

I did all resets that was told to me and the TV would finally get power turn on but continued to do the same thing. Now this is my dilemma, because now my 90days return window is passed. Working on the manufacturer warranty I have a yr.

The Tech has been to my house 4times to try and fix the TV and still nothing. He saying it needs a main/mother board which is “Backorder” and still no answers. at this point I just feel refund me or send me A WORKING TV.

I am trying to be patient but its getting ridiculous and no communication from the TECH I had to call to find out the part was “Backorder” but every communication since has been initiated by me. BUT STILL NO ANSWERS.

The reason why I would recommend this product is because I have experience with this product I just got a bad product and because of my luck I’m still fighting to get my money’s worth.

Amazing TV, excellent picture and sound quality, especially for this price point. But let me tell you the real reason I am writing this review! Everywhere you look – specs, descriptions, questions answered by LG representatives – these will all say that this exact model is NOT Magic Remote compatible, and that this TV does not have Bluetooth capability.

THEY ARE ALL WRONG! Maybe due to a late firmware update, my TV absolutely has Bluetooth so I bought a few different LG Magic Remote models. THE ONE THAT WORKS IS THE LG MR21GC MAGIC REMOTE. It works perfectly and fully, complete with voice/Alexa/Google capabilities! I want to combat the misinformation by LG’s customer service folks who when you ask will say it absolutely does not have any Magic Remote compatibility.

I love LG and have for years, but I absolutely hate misinformation, so I hope this helps someone!!! :).
