To put this review in context, we already own three other Vizio TVs – a 75″ P-Series, a 75″ M-Series, and a 70″ E-Series (as well as multiple 3. 1 and 5. 1 soundbars and Crave Pro smart speakers). First impressions on opening the box are this is more of the same – a sleek modern design with the typically excellent fit and finish we have come to expect of Vizio products.

The bezel is extremely thin with a very attractive brushed finish, so no distractions from glare or reflections from lights. The feet are the same concept throughout all the various series, again a matt black finish to ensure they don’t detract from the viewing experience.

The main difference between the V-Series and the other more expensive models is the materials are plastic rather than metal, but that is to be expected at this price point. Visually however, it’s impossible to tell and is no less pleasing to look at.

The remote control is very similar to the ones we have for the other TVs but it has had an update and redesign with additional buttons and pleasingly, it now has a flat base so rests in a horizontal position, rather than dipping down at the front.

Oh, and before I forget, the bag the TV comes in with the grab handles is an ingenious idea. It makes it easy for one person to remove it from the box, without having to try and stretch your arms around each side.

The power, input and volume controls are all on the rear of the TV – which is how the bezel is able to be so thin – and gives it a very clean look. In 5 years though I don’t think we’ve ever touched the controls on any of the TVs – we use the remote, a phone/tablet (SmartCast Mobile), or Google Assistant to control them all.

Also on the rear are all the inputs and outputs you will ever need: a coaxial input for cable or satellite, composite analog input and audio output (it’s debatable whether anyone uses those these days), an optical output for a receiver or soundbar, an ethernet port (although it has wi-fi built in so likely won’t be used), a USB port for playing media from a thumb drive, and three HDMI ports, one of which is ARC enabled.

First power on goes through the standard set up – choosing the language, country, etc. then connect to the network using the built in wi-fi, and finally a software update check. A couple of updates were required which took around 10 minutes to complete and then the TV was ready to use.

Out of the box, the display is set to “Bright” mode. I always find this a little bit too vivid and artificial and as all of our TV watching is in the evening, it’s just too intense. Fortunately, Vizio TVs have built in pre-set modes and “Calibrated Dark” is the one all of our TVs are set to.

A quick word on the menu operation – it’s one of the easiest I’ve used: simple, straightforward, and intuitive. It just works. The picture quality across all of the various inputs is superb – sharp and clear, good colour rendition, and decent blacks, and as it’s 4K Ultra HD, incredibiy detailed.

Blu-ray is particularly impressive but even the various streaming services produce great depth with no smearing or streaking. The huge number of built in apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ AppleTV, etc.

makes finding and viewing content simple and avoids the need to cast from a device to the TV, although you can still do that if you wish. There’s also a dedicated set of free channels, as well as Crackle, Pluto TV, and others, so you don’t need to subscribe to multiple paid services to find something to watch.

The one thing this TV doesn’t have is a dedicated HDMI input for gaming, but at my age, any kind of input lag is the least of my problems when battling hordes of zombies! Sound is adequate considering the size of the speakers – you’re not going to get any room shaking bass but it is clear and there is an option to enhance the dialogue.

There is also the choice of surround sound mode or equalizer, allowing you to fine tune the overall sound. To really do the picture quality justice though, you need to upgrade to an external soundbar (or receiver and speakers), which is what we’ll be doing.

The USB port which allows you to play audio, videos, and still pictures is handy. perfect for slideshows on those family get togethers which everyone loves 😉 Yes, if you put this TV side by side with a P series then you can see where the extra expense is involved, but if you were to do a blind comparison with a similar sized M series then you would be hard pushed to tell the difference.

Overall, for the price, this TV is incredible value for money and performs way better than I expected. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another one.

This is the absolute worst tv i have ever bought. From the very begining ive had issues with this tv. The picture quality is fine but it is the slowest most laggy tv ever. All of the apps take forever to load and often times when a show is playing it will all of a sudden stop and revert back to the home screen or display an error message.

Ive had to plug it in and out many times just to get it to load the home screen. The buttons from the remote are sooo slow for the tv to respond to. I contacted customer service and they said there would be an update out for this tv that would fix the issues and they were awarw of them.

I waited and no update came. So i called again and they agreed to send me a new tv and i semd the old one back. I told them i dont think its a specfic problem with this tv i think that this model of vizio tv is just poorly made and has alot of glitches.

So sure enough the new tv has all of the same problems. They told me to get a wifi extender but i have tvs farther away from the router than this one that work fine. My connection strength is excellent it says and all of the problems are never connectivity related.

I even asked if i could just exchange it for a different modek i dont even care which but they said no. Theres a reason this tv is only a year old and they dont make it anymore. Its just a very glitchy, slow, problematic tv.

I am going to try and sell it secondhand to try and cut some of my losses and go buy the cheaper roku tv. I will never buy a vizio tv again they have lost a customer.

There is so much I don’t like about this, where do I start? If you will be using this as a “Roku” TV (connect to the internet), do yourself a favor and buy a real Roku player and attach the internet to that first.

This TV has a crap “D to A” converter (the electronics that convert IP packets into picture and sound). I had to use the “Pluto TV” (they must use a proprietory protocol that buffers more, I guess) app to watch my news programs because if you try to watch using the “free TV” function, you will experience skipping, buffering, pauses and unsyncronized picture and sound.

It’s not a satisfying experience. Another really annoying aspect of this TV is it does not save passwords for WiFi authentication. EVERY time you want to switch WiFi source to need to reenter the password.

And another little annoying aspect is there is no provision for eyeballing what you enter. It’s like the designers were afraid the mice living in the couch would be changing and entering in some topsecret passwords when you are not at home.

The picture is OK when the IP packets are decoded from a pristine internet stream but the sound is always too low. You need to turn to 90% or more to be able to hear at all. I ended up connecting to my stereo system and use that all the time instead of using the speakers in the TV.

If you will use this primarily with a DVD player, it will be adequate provided you have a separate sound system.

I had a lot of hope for this product, but have been extremely disappointed with it. The picture and sound quality are what I’d expect from a small 720P TV. However, that’s about all the good I can say for this product.

This TV will not stay connected to the WiFi and drops the connection constantly (in multiple apps — not just one or two). Sometimes it drops after a minute or two, and sometimes it drops after a couple of hours or anywhere in-between (my other TV connected to the same router does not do this so it’s not an internet issue).

Further, when it drops the connection it doesn’t try to reconnect, you have to manually go into the WiFi connections and connect to a different source then connect again to your chosen source before it will restore the WiFi connection.

The OTA service is pathetic. I have an antenna that I used on a different TV in exactly the same location where I received over 70 channels. This TV finds zero channels with the same antenna and location setup.

The only source that is really usable on this unit is the cable (for which I have a set-top box). The built-in Alexa is a nice feature, but it doesn’t control much inside the apps. My Echo can do everything the built-in Alexa does making the built-in feature of little use for me.

I can’t return this one, but I replaced this TV with a different kind of smart TV. Until Amazon can improve the OS and the interoperability problems, I would not buy another and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I have great experiences with LG TVs and just purchased this. Right out of the box the TV had issues and shut down on its own. I got on tech help and it turned out it was a defective unit. I was able to return and exchange for an identical model.

The second TV has worked great for me. I need smaller size TVs but find that LG has always had great quality and picture for my small living spaces. thank you!.

So far I like the TV, the image quality and the features it offers. Going straight to Netflix for example and the LG channels are great. However we can’t seem to find a sound setting which prevents the sounds but going all over the place while watching shows, from really loud music to too quiet dialogue.

Also the icons on the remote are barely visible if there isn’t a lot of light in the room.

For the last 10 years, I have purchased nothing but Insignia brand “non-smart” televisions. I do not subscribe to cable TV or pay for streaming services so I have used Insignia TV’s for over-the-air viewing paired with an HDTV wall mounted antenna and, in addition, I will link my computer via HDMI cable to the Insignia TV’s HDMI ARC1 port.

Aside from searching the web, I will view music and other types of videos on YouTube and Bing. I had been using a 24″ Insignia 720p television in my office area where I sit a couple of feet from the screen and I was wondering if 1080p which this Insignia Full HD Smart possesses would make a difference in the viewing experience.

Many people I spoke to and GOOGLE search results indicated that the human eye would “not” be able to detect any difference; however, was I ever surprised after completing the set up of this great TV what a “noticeable” difference there is in visual imagery–particularly when watching videos–whether they be classic or more recent productions! I spent a lot of time reading “many” reviews of this TV where users of this smart TV were annoyed with how after powering on this TV that it takes time for the TV to engage in start up to get the user where they want to go; however, with the guidance of Insignia tech support, I was able to program this TV so that each time I powered on the TV it would take me “directly” to HDMI ARC1 input and if you want to go “directly” to another source after powering on this TV you can achieve that also.

I have found that many brands of TV’s these days don’t have headphone jack; however, all of the Insignia TV’s I have owned (such as this one!) do. There are not many companies out there who provide product support long after the purchase date like Insignia brand does.

For me, purchasing this “smart TV” was the right decision!.

Purchased the TV for use as a monitor and TV. While the TV itself is constructed well, I have some gripes about it. #1 It takes a REALLY LONG TIME to turn on. First, you have to wait to see the obligatory FireTV logo; then you have to wait until it decides to finally turn on.

maybe like a minute or so until it turns on completely. Most times, I really just need to change the output to HDMI 2 but have to wait for the requite 1 or 2 minutes until it decides to turn on. #2 While for a TV the image looks fine, as a monitor the thing is very bad.

I have a dedicated Nvidia video card on a not-too old computer – maybe from 2015, and have used larger TVs as monitors with no issue, but the image quality on this TV is subpar! When viewing ANY website, all the pictures are very grainy, and definitely NOT 1080.

The words are not super clear on sites either. Maybe it’s not desinged to be a monitor, I get that, but in this situation, I was looking for a dual purpose TV, so this is the best compromise, I suppose.

Overall, for the price and the fact that it is both a TV and can also be a mediocre monitor, it will have to work. While I did look at monitors in the 24″ realm, and then having to purchase an Fire Stick/remote, this two-in one came out to be a better price.

I’ve had this TV over 3 months and I’m very happy with the purchase. It’s perfect size for my office. It has a great picture, I highly recommend that you use the picture controls to set it to your liking – the default settings, while acceptable, do NOT allow this TV to shine! You’ll definitely want to play with the Brightness and Contrast settings to find your perfect view.

The speakers are actually not too bad for a TV this size and at this price point. I was watching a movie last night that was using Dolby Digital and the soundscape was really quite nice. I think you’ll be surprised – of course, this all depends on the environment you are placing the TV in.

YMMV Lots of inputs on the back of this thing. My only disappointment with the TV is that it makes a substandard computer monitor. Hard to get a resolution that looks good on my Mac. As a TV, great device! Out of the box, the FireTV interface is a tad slow but wait a minute and it will update to the latest FireTV OS which is MUCH faster and responsive (to answer previous reviews complaining about this).

What I liked about this TV set initially it’s size at 40″ inches diagonally. What I would like to warn possible buyers of is the Android OS. This is not a fast loading or responsive operating system.

My beard grew another inch just waiting for it to update to current software version during initial setup. I am hard wired via CAT6 Ethernet cable. The TV will also work wirelessly. I bought it as a replacement for my elderly mother for whom I am a caretaker.

She has problems with seeing the remote control buttons so I can cast programming when I am on my own Wi-Fi network from one of my Samsung cell phones. Using GOGLE TV app your phone can become a remote control.

I also like that she can just tell the TV, Hey GOOGLE find Deal or No Deal, or Price Is Right, etc. It has built in Chromecast/GOOGLE Assitant and a TCL GOOGLE-CENTRIC remote control with fairly simple and intuitive functions.

The remote allows you to push a button and tell/ask GOOGLE what you want. What I tend to dislike is that the remote control app function for Android Phones is not able to work remotely as in away from home from my cell phone.

I also need to reiterate that the tv is slow to respond to input from both the O. E. M remote that it comes with as well as with my phone. Picture quality is good and the tv will upscale 720P broadcast to higher quality.

These TCL TV’s are available in 4K if you want it for a bit more money. As a tv for a kids room, a guest or spare room this was quite a bargain at $229. 00. Compared to the ROKU OS I would choose ROKU.

Found out way too late that this TV OS does not support SPECTRUM TV app. I was trying to get rid of the cable box but no luck. So the question is would I recommend this TV to others? I probably would not if you are not patient.

The Android OS is not as versatile as I thought it should be.

I have three TCL TV’s that replaced other televisions (55″ Sony, 55″ Panasonic and a 32″ Visio) in various rooms in the house. They are all internet connected and are used for streaming. The Visio’s (have had two 32″) are real weak in the internet connectivity department and I had many issues with web streaming dropping off when not next to the router, even with extenders.

My TCL TV’s completely cleared that issue up and I have no problems connecting and staying connected. My TCL’s are all ROKU platform streaming, which I prefer. My bedroom and RV are 32″ TCL’s and my Livingroom television is a 55″.

Be aware, some ROKU platform TCL TV’s have had issues and develope a life of their own. I had to return my Family room 55″ TCL ROKU as a result and wound up with a Samsung 55″. My Livingroom 55″ TCL was less expensive than my Family Room Samsung 55″ by several hundred dollars but is every bit as good in the function, picture and sound department as the more expensive Samsung.

Both are great TV’s but the TCL was a much better value for the creature features that you got. Sound quality is about what you would expect for a TV of this size. I use sound bars with sub woofers on all but my bedroom televisions I had a 40″ TCL in an RV I purchased in 2017.

I thought it would be a cheapo because RV manufacturers typically put the cheapest electronics they can find in their products for cost savings. I was pleasantly surprised with the television selection.

I upgraded my RV in 2021 (same manufacturer) and it also had a TCL of the 32″ variety. It’s been trouble free and connects well with my DISH tailgater and campground cable tv. IMPO, the TCL brand would be a welcome, reasonably priced, well appointed addition to any room in anyones home home or RV.

Whatever you do skip buying TCL brand TV’s. Like this TV @ a great price I couldn’t pass up the deal nor could I really afford the screen size of anything over 43 inches. I knew if anything I bought I was going to have to settle for less through poorer picture, sound and etc.

I had already accepted that as my price being so great terms so to speak. 3 months and 5 days after in after my purchase my TV lost sound first, 15 minutes further into that same hour I lost visual and after the tv lost power and I have never been able to get power back on.

I didn’t purchase the protection coverage because I couldn’t afford the add on. I am a single mother of 3 children on a budget. I called the company I bought it from and then the company who makes the tvs and found no one with whom could offer me any recommendations on what I could do from here.

In the days of the internet customers are the lowest on the toedum poll. I am the loyalist of customers a repeat lifetime customer if treated with human decency and to be talked as if you have any amount of vague interest in what I am calling in about.

Corporations moving forward may need to rethink how they do business from ground up and consider the factor of operating a business with even just the smallest sprinkle of decency and respect. I miss the days when customers were a valued equation not just a considered foregone conclusion.

(I still have the tv in my master bedroom closet in original box with all original paperwork , manuals, remote. I’m actually just mentioning this in the sincere hopes.

Using Personal artwork requires using a USB to upload pictures to the TV or uploading to your Samsung account and logging into the account on the TV. Using a USB, all of the photos that I tried to upload were larger than 4k and the TV could not resize the images and use them.

That is a suprise as other TVs I have used have not had a problem resizing photos. One thing that seems to be missing is the capability to schedule artwork. For example if you want nature photos between 6am and 9am, and family photos between 9am and 3pm, and sunset photos between 3pm and 9pm, and Web Space Telescope pictures between 9pm and 6am, then you will not find that feature on this device.

That is why the 3 star review; the Frame is just a regular digital photo device with the most basic of shuffling and scheduling features. These to lack of features are the reason for the review title “Dumb Digital Photo Frame”.

The flush wall mount is not really flush like shown in the marketing pictures. The 43″ has a much better wall mount, and is nearly flush. The 55″ does have a gap and it is about the same space a painting or flat back picture would be.

My sits about 1/2″ away from the wall at the top and is nearly flush at the bottom. I did not use the included foam spacers on the bottom of the TV, otherwise it would have the 1/2″ space at the bottom also.

The frame around the edge of the TV is about 3/16″ further away from the wall than the actual back of the TV, so the edge of the units (both 43″ and 55″) can never really be flush with the wall, as you would expect with a metal frame picture with a hallow back.

Adding the Samsung custom frame pieces do not close this gap. The cable is poorly sized at only 5M long (<16'). It should either be 1. 5M or 15M long. The 5M length make a mess of wires if the control box is below the TV, and the 5M length is not long enough to make it up the wall to the attic and back down to an adjacent room to put the control box out of sight.

The control box has the USB connection, so don’t plan on putting that in the attic, however using a USB extension cable I did not try. The 15M cable is available from Samsung and is another $300. The “invisible” cables are not compatible between all Samsung TVs.

It would have been preferred if the TVs were $100 less and you had to buy a separate cable for $100, that way you could get the cable you required. We also have the 43″ 2022 model hung in portrait mode; when in portrait mode Amazon Prime does not work, nor do any of the other apps that do not allow for resizing of the display.

That was a suprise.

I returned it to be honest. I didn’t know there was a difference between BESPOKE vs. non-BESPOKE products by Samsung and Bezel meant for TV’s until after I purchased this item. Basically, my friend and I saw The Frame and even on display at Best Buy it was absolutely gorgeous.

After running to 3 different Best Buys, we , it was obvious based upon on conversation amongst each other in front of the sales guy we wanted The Frame for the flush feature and painting-like display.

When we both got home, after a 2 days, we were so disappointed it wasn’t the item we actually wanted or saw on display. There is a difference between The Frame with or without Bezel feature and I recommend verifying any product by Samsung prior to purchase.

There is a significant difference aesthetically and financially. My friend ended up keeping his but I had to return mine b/c I noticed the colors weren’t consistent across the display panel. There was a section of the TV in which the colors displayed were different than the rest of the image.

It is really hard to see but I can pick up on visual hues every well. Also, the black points were well achieved but in contrast, the brighter colors seemed more off and the balance between dark and light was not visually pleasing.

In fact, my brother had the same problem with a different Samsung TV model. These Samsung TV’s, however, were manufactured in 2021. Apparently, there is a significant improvement in the 2022 models and beyond b/c many had this inconsistency.

A huge deal breaker for me was the speaker sound. Recently, Sony Bravia changed up their technology and the speakers on the TV are insane b/c it comes from every point behind the TV display vs Samsung which in the speakers are set on the bottom in one location.

The sound level of a Sony Bravia at say 30 is the equivalent to a Samsung TV at 80. And it’s very annoying considering its rigid emitting sound from one focal point and the sound quality isn’t as rich as Sony Bravia.

My friend, however, he is okay with it and kept his TV. He was disappointed but he got over it. The price he purchased his for was a great deal for the size. He is a very picky person yet he kept it out of inconvenience to deal with the return process I guess and he had already mounted it on his wall.

It just depends. I do highly highly recommend making sure the TV is 2022+. It seems as though there is not much of a price difference yet significant difference in quality and change in technology. Hope this helps!.

Use case: this TV is going into a multi-purpose bedroom that is also an exercise room. This tv will only be used to display art content and look like a picture frame for most of the time. However, this will also be used to display workouts on an Apple TV via Fitness+.

I do not have much opinion on the built in apps and other Samsung software offerings because I disagree with their ad targeting, data collection and reselling practices. However, the cost of the tv is only as low as it is because of those data collection and brokering practices.

Would I opt out of most data collection practices if that could be easily done while not suffering a lesser software experience for my tv purchase. ? Yes, yes I would. Is that currently possible? No, no it is not.

The Pros: Good picture quality for the particular screen tech The complimentary digital art is attractive The one connect system is attractive in theory The Cons: The one connect connector cable is too dainty and not UL rated for hiding behind walls.

A UL rated option is available for an extra 300. 00 which is rather ridiculous considering that the VC point of This product is to not look like a tv. The included wall mounting solution is rather finicky and not at all particularly easy to level and mount (they’ve given the bare minimum effort in the wall mounting solution for the 43 inch model).
