Replaced a 20 year old, +50 pound dinosaur in our Winnebago Chieftain. Reduced power consumption from +6 amps to 2. 3 amps, which is great for battery durability away from shore power, as my spouse likes the background sound for sleeping.

The step up in picture size and quality is phenomenal when compared to the unit it replaced, but can’t really say how it compares to other units of this size available today. The 62 page manual, available online, could use more details on the menu options, but covers all the topics at least at a high level.

Set up to a Mounting Dream MD2210 Pivoting/Lockable mount was easy, and the TV included its own hardware, unlike another brand used in another location. Vertically, the center of the TV sits below the center of the mount plate, so this needs to be accounted for when installing the mount, if important for placement relative to its surrounds (in my case, the former TV cabinet).

The power cord includes an inline fuse, so I only had to locate and hook up to available power. The TV has survived two short trips, and hopefully many more and longer trips.

We have preferred 12vDC televisions since we had our first one. I like watching TV without managing vAC power. Jensen makes a good unit, but it is not perfect. Good – o Runs on battery power. o Picture quality is reasonable.

o Operation is mostly simple. o Input options abound. o LIghtweight. Weak – Tuning over-the-air and cable channels: o Scan-Channels required each time you move RV. You may know the locally-available channel you want, but you have to scan to add it to your available channel list.

o If you rotate the over-the-air antenna seeking more channels, you probably have to scan again. Weak – Other: o Mounting holes for wall mounting are very close together so TV may wobble. o I custom label stations I like and hide stations I do not.

It takes awhile, but end result is worth it. I buy this TV in various sizes. I recommend it.

We love the clean, clear picture. The sound system on the TV itself is fine, but we learned how to cast it to the entire camper and it’s obviously better. We attached my iPad with downloaded Netflix and Prime movies using an authentic Apple Lightning to HDMI cable and we’ve been extremely happy with it.

We actually chose the LG brand of OLED 4K (UHD) TV at Best Buy based upon our selection of the highest picture quality of all TVs in the store, and knowledge that OLED (Organic LED) in general was the only way to go since each pixel had its own light source.

A Best Buy staffer – knowing that we were not going to buy that day – covered all the differences between the LG OLED 65 TV models (A, C and G), and assured us of compatibility with our present receiver, actually making a single line hookup drawing with connection cables specs, indicating which ports to be used.

We quickly determined that the better processor in both the C and G models was worth the relatively small price jump from the A to the C model, but given that the C had sufficient screen brightness for daytime viewing and we almost exclusively view the screen in a darkened room, we could not rationalize the relatively large jump in price to the G model for the brighter screen.

Although the difference between the C and G model screen brightness was only somewhat discernable in a brightly lighted showroom, if you view your TV in a room as bright as at BestBuy, I’d say go for the G model if the cost is not a barrier.

Otherwise, save the bucks and get the C model, which otherwise has the same features as the G, except maybe maybe for a future technology ACST 3. 0 Nexgen tuner, which I believe the G already has (more on that later).

In our later research online, we were hard put to find any real complaints about any of the LG lineup, except for an occasional report of damage during transport or owner-induced during unpacking, etc.

(read the LG unpacking instructions first, and no matter how strong you are, don’t try to mount it without another pair of hands). We wanted to use our 5+1 speaker system so that’s how we set it up, but at one point, we accidentally configured use of the LG TV speakers, and were startled at the unexpected high quality and realistic sound image when mounted on a wall.

On the other hand, we don’t like technology that gathers information for marketing purposes, or keeps records of viewing patterns (e. g. our thermostat has 3GB of memory!), However, the LG TV allows you to deselect ( or not select) those features.

One criticism is that, if like us, you don’t want your preferences collected for marketing purposes, you’ll be hard put to figure out how to avoid seeing the occasional but persistent and annoying request to register for that.

We don’t have cable available, and don’t want to avail ourselves of the ASTC 1. 0 or future ASTC 3. 0 technology (that the G modern already has) which purportedly allows the industry to collect marketing information, so that capability is just along for the ride on our TV.

That having been said, we get a fantastic HD OTA Digital TV signal from a tower 56 miles away with a small, amplified yagi antenna that is barely line of sight to the tower. Rather than connect our LG TV to the internet, we’ve connected our 4K BluRay player online with an air modem (Verizon “hotspot”) for data plan-limited Netflix or Hulu.

Here’s a tip: Replace all your HD DVDs with either BluRay 1080p HD discs which a 4K TV can enhance to nearly UHD (“4K”) quality, or if available with a BluRay UHD (“4K”) disc.

After years of using a TCL 55″ LCD smart TV and exclusively gaming on Nintendo hardware (which are solid and reliable, mind you) I wanted to give myself a bit of an upgrade. I saved and saved and purchased this 65″ OLED with an Xbox Series X, and the difference in quality feels like I’ve spent the last years of my life drowning and I’ve finally been pulled up to shore.

This TV is incredible. There are more than enough settings to tinker with to get it where you want it but even the stock ones out of the box are fantastic if you want to keep things simple. The smart remote is weirdly fun to use since it has a Wii Remote-style IR sensor and some helpful hidden functionality.

The TV itself is stable and sturdy with a massive stand – it would take a pretty significant earthquake to even so much as sway this thing around. But the picture quality, especially with video games, my god.

I won’t dwell on the Series X itself because this isn’t an Xbox review, but playing Psychonauts 2 in 120 FPS (thanks to this TV supporting that) was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. It’s not night-and-day compared to 60FPS but that minor extra bit of control and fluidity is definitely noticeable and made me feel like I had so much more control.

On the other end of the spectrum, Forza Horizon 5 in graphics mode actually blew me away quite a bit – it is difficult for my eyes to process that what I’m looking at isn’t computer-generated, and thanks to the LG’s OLED display and great settings for gaming, the experience was elevated even further.

I imagine results would be similar if using a PS5 but this TV even makes my Switch games look great (though they’re obviously not as crisp), and playing retro games on my Wii U with those deep-black borders, or games like Metroid Dread that are darker in general, was immaculate.

An amazing gaming experience, honestly. I did a lot of research when deciding to buy an OLED. I looked at other brands, competing devices like Samsung QLED, and even cheaper LG OLED’s, but I decided to just save up for the one that everybody said was the best, so I would hopefully not have to upgrade again for a very long time, perhaps even decades if I’m lucky.

Well I’m extremely happy to say that it was absolutely worth it. I feel set for a long, long time with this TV. From the build quality to the settings to the gaming-friendly performance capabilities, all the way down to the cool remote, I think this TV will do me well for many years to come.

Obviously an OLED is currently a bit of a luxury item, but if you are financially able to do so, don’t settle for less. If you’re looking for a great new TV to show off your new XSX or PS5, or have a ton of ultra 4K movies you want to watch, or if you want to see what OLED is all about, just go with this TV.

It absolutely exceeds the hype for me and is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

This is my second LG OLED. One purchased in 2019 (65C9PUA) and this one in 2021 (65C1PUB) Both operating perfectly and still have arguably the best picture available. As far as display performance, the is no discernable difference between the two with game, TV or any other signal that is thrown at it.

Both also have excellent upscaling capability even if using 480/1080p content. I will never go back to backlit LED and is certainly worth the “investment” if you appreciate an image that continues to have a wow factor.

I appreciate the need to continually improve models, increase options and to attempt to differentiate from the competition. There’s not much that can be done to improve on perfection when it comes to LG OLED’s display performance, however, where the 65C1PUB has regressed is in its operating system (WebOS).

Gone is the simple, configurable access selection banner in WebOS v5 that is still available on the 2019 C9PUA, and in its place is a much more clunky and less intuitive and configurable home screen.

This is more than just the annoying fact that our family now has two disparate OS systems to deal with. The new WebOS in attempt to cash in on targeted/adaptive advertising (through its Artificial Intelligence content monitoring) makes it far more “smart” than it needs to be if you need the TV to just be a TV.

While these features can be minimized after some digging into the various settings menus, you are still left with a home screen that you can’t do much with. Apart from rearranging the “Apps” line the remaining home screen remains fixed, annoying and largely irrelevant.

Given the differences in WebOS functionality, the newer OLED C1PUB could do with the option to choose the WebOS or, if a home screen in lieu of a banner is deemed paramount, make it far more configurable.

In sum, the C1PUB is still an exceptional TV and if you hadn’t experienced WebOS v5. 0 functionally you would be none the wiser and not be disappointed in what is largely seen as a step backwards.

Two things are outstanding about this TV : First, it accepts every conceivable input, digital or analog, and notably RF analog through a coax connection. Secondly, the 13. 3″ screen size is perfect for a small space, such as a kitchen table.

The picture is great. Its only weakness is its sound quality, which is small and tinny. Of course you can add plug in computer speakers to fix that, but then the rig would take up more space. Its on the pricey side, but worth it, at least in our case.

Incidentally, the brand name on it is Axess.

Great RV TV combo!! The complaint about the remote is true. You do have to keep switching back and forth to control tv and DVD player. No big deal. Sound is alright. What flatscreen tv does have good sound anyhow.

Hooked it up to a Bose portable speaker, sound is great now!! Picture is wonderful!! Love this tv for our RV. Would purchase again. Will be purchasing the 13 inch for our bedroom in the RV soon.

I purchased two other TVs before I got this one and both of those were defective so I went with Jensen and I am impressed with this TV. It has awesome sound, awesome quality picture, came packed with a lot of extras for it.

Shouldve bought this one first great TV and well worth the money.

The choices are very slim for a 12V powered TV with an integral DVD. However this one was rated higher than any other. It works as advertised. However the TV is quite lacking in two areas. First the sound quality is absolutly horrible.

I have since added a sound bar which required some inginuity in my truck camper to correct this problem. Secondly and the biggest issue I have with this unit is the viewing angle is very very narrow.

I have it mounted in the cab over area in my truck camper. Even at that close range if you are not looking at the screen from the center of the bed the picture loses quality quickly. If you are centered in front of the screen the picture quality is very good.

5 month longevity then quits! Purchased on February 10th 2922 and received it on February 16th 2022. I used it everyday then today August 7th 2022, just short of 5 months I thought the remote quit working so I purchased a third one as the first one didn’t work out of box any through it away as I was not going soon enough too a Walmart too return, so anyway I got the third TV out and tried that remote too see if it works and it didn’t make a difference so I pushed the buttons on the TV it self and it still didn’t work.

Something inside the TV itself apparently burned out and as I was testing the buttons on the 2 different remotes it got to where more buttons wouldn’t respond. Progressively got worse. I bought the spare TV for a backup and reviews but not impressed right now so I’ll see how long this third TV lasts but at this point I won’t put any more money out on this brand.

Anyway I have 1 more TV I bought from Walmart as another backup that is a different brand so if this one fails I’ll plug that in and see how it works, bought these all about the same time as I new prices on everything was probably going up.

Also good luck in getting a new remote if yours goes bad.

I have only had this 14 inch tv for a couple days, but so far I couldn’t be more pleased. The setup was simple and I adjusted the bass and treble and turned on the surround sound to make the most of it’s small speakers.

I scanned for channels with the small included antenna and was surprised to get 9 local channels. I will be attaching it to a decent amplified antenna in the future. This should work out great while boondocking with my camper and not having to run the generator to watch an hour or two of golf or football! The only thing that I was unable to do so far is adjust the tint in the picture settings.

Hopefully Trexonic will be able to help me with that. I did also purchase the 4 year extended warranty for $16 to add to the $109 tv which should give me 5 full years. This is a great deal as long as it continues to work and the battery continues to hold a charge!.

With the new antenna they now provide I was amazed that it picked up 67 clear over-the-air channels here in NW chicago. The features were better than I expected including FM radio, Rechargable battery, a well organized easy to use remote control, decent sound quality, multiple connectivity inputs including HDMI, Mini VGA, AV in, AC & 12v.

car power. It even has AV output. I mainly bought it to use in my bathroom but beware it can be affected by high humidity. My alternate use will be for traveling & outdoor use.

Nice inexpensive TV. I am going to toss it in my truck. It can be charged via USB, so that eliminates another cord top have to lug around. It picked up all of my local channels when programmed, and the picture quality is good.

Had black dots on screen and terrible reception. Returned it, and bought a supersonic 14″. Absolutely satisfied with the supersonic

Great little tv. Picture is sharp, colors are are rich and full without the grainy pixel look of so many. Friends can’t believe it’s 12v with such a smooth bright screen. My brother stayed in my motor home for a bit and was so impressed he wants one for his house.

I love my 32″ so well I went and bought the 40″ for the living room and moved the 32″ to the bedroom. I could live in my motor home and be just fine. ps: I also added the Jensen JWM452 stereo. What a great system.

The product is decent. It functions pretty much the same a regular tv with a fire stick plugged into it, but without the excess parts / cords. My main issue with it is that I had purchased it, in part, for its Hulu live tv compatibility, which my other 2 fire sticks lack.

It actually played a major role in my decision, because I was looking for the old school antenna / cable tv experience that I grew up with, without being restricted to the channels I receive over the air in Phoenix or investing in cable.

However, when I attempt to sync my Hulu +Live TV account with this Fire TV, the screen just glitches and displays the error message: “EPG is not available for the user,” but does not sync. Yes, I can still access it via the Hulu app, but I could’ve also done that using literally any other streaming device.

I’ve also found that some of the sound settings seem to be moot / don’t notice any difference; you have to go way out of your way to access the bluetooth options from the homepage if you want to change the sound output, but you can access the aforementioned useless sound settings & turn off the tv speakers right from the quick-access menu, as well as the channel guide for Amazon’s heavily ad-laden partner, IMDB TV’s live tv channels, but not the ones from Hulu that I already pay for.

Overall, I feel much better now that I’ve ranted about all its flaws, but I would still probably would not recommend buying this tv, unless you plan to use it for the basic functions only. Given that the driving quality of a smart tv is its convenience of use and functional variety, trying to implement the bells and whistles on this one may prove to be more frustrating than it’s worth.

I bought this as a cheap FHD monitor for my computer. First, here are the ideal settings I found. Picture settings: Backlight: 0-70 depending on your preference Contrast: 97 Brightness: -1 Color: -6 Tint: -11 Sharpness: -6 Advanced: White Balance Color Temperature: Warm Red, Green, Blue Intensity: 0 Mid Luminance Gamma: 5 Dynamic Backlight: Off Dynamic Contrast: Off MPEG Noise Reduction: Off Dynamic Noise Reduction: Off Edge Enhancer: Off GOOD – Color and contrast seem very good.

Videos and pictures look excellent. The backlight is very, very bright. I have mine turned all the way to 0; I like my computer monitors much darker than most people. Colors and brightness appear uniform over the whole display and the refresh rate seems good for office/video usage (not sure about gaming.

) BAD – You HAVE to use the suggested settings above (or close to them) to make it usable as a PC monitor. The default settings look absolutely awful. The down side is that sharpness has to be reduced somewhat (to -6) to avoid white or color glow around text and other edges.

Granted, using any 32-inch 1080p screen as a monitor is going to present a challenge balancing sharpness overly blocky looking pixels. But this lower-end panel in particular I think suffers from glow around letters if you try a sharper, blockier picture.

I prefer the slight dulling; it reminds me of reading text on an old Sony Trinitron CRT. There is still some very slightly noticeable color halo around bright red or green text. Since the TV struggles with color edges in general I could simply not picture using this for any kind of web, print, or video design.

I doubt a designer would even consider a device at this price point. I am using it for office documents, web, and coding. Another downside is that there is some odd parallax effect on the pixels to the extreme left and right edge of the display.

You kind of lose visibility of 2-3 rows of pixels at each edge due to this. But it is not really noticeable when working. The biggest downside is that the TV makes you switch to HDMI every time you turn it on.

And, if you simply let your PC “sleep” (but leave the TV itself “on”) the TV will eventually shut off anyway. OVERALL – If you want a big, cheap, 1080p for your computer on a very tight budget, this is a good option.

Don’t expect crispness but do expect to be able to get work done on a very big screen with nice, big icons and text.

This has to be, by FAR, the worst television I’ve ever owned or used. It doesn’t retain settings, randomly changes settings, and goes to a black screen without warning every couple of hours or so. The newest issue is it likes to turn on randomly, and it turns itself on and goes to the HBO app when it somehow turns on with my PS4.

I have that option disabled. About half the time when I turn it on to use my PS4, it won’t load any inputs unless I unplug the TV for about 10 minutes. I have 200mb internet service, and this thing runs like it’s on dial up.

I timed it once, and it took a full 8 minutes from power on to usability. Thinking disabling internet access would help was wrong. It only sped things up about 25 or 30 seconds. To be 100% honest, it doesn’t always do this, but it does happen more than it doesn’t.

As a photographer, I know how to, and like to set up the color on my screens to accurately show what I’m seeing. I have another cheap ($140) 40″ TV that has no “smart” capabilities, and it has more settings for the display alone than this TV has for every feature it has.

Comparing it to the aforementioned cheap TV, it has a noisy/grainy texture when I run my PS4 Pro that no other TV we have does. Sound quality isn’t terrible, but it’s not far off. I consistently have to have the volume at 85+ to hear clearly, and at that level you get that static/hiss sound.

But to be fair, it’s decent when it works properly. To sum it up, this TV cheated on whatever test it passed to earn the “smart” label. If I could have returned it, I would have. Since it sat in its box for almost a month and then took about 2 more weeks to show any issues, I was well past the return period.

On a side note, it took as long as it took to write this review for it to go to black. Again. That’s enough for this review. Since time = money, I’ve already spent more time in it than this TV is worth.

WORST TV EVER.

As long as the remote doesn’t die on you, this TV is all you hope it would be — great picture quality for the price, easy to navigate menus and really easy to set up out of the box. But without a working remote, you can turn the TV on with a button at the bottom center of the TV and use that button to change the signal source.

and that’s it! There is no way to navigate the TV menus or the Fire TV options on the home screen, without a remote. My remote that came with the TV started to overheat (in the front tip and the battery compartment) after about a month of use.

So, the TV gets a 2 star rating for less then smart design and poor user interface consideration for things like a faulty remote. And for those that may be thinking of using a soft remote installed on your smart phone, you still need a working remote to navigate the menus to set the tv to accept a signal from another source (like your smart phone) which I did not do before my remote crumped out (because this has never happened to me before!).

SO my tv has been stuck at the same blaringly high volume setting for about a week and half, waiting for the new remote to get here. But for Customer Service at Insignia, I would give them a 4 star rating for how they handled my warranty claim.

They were quick to respond and get a new remote sent to me (sent out a few days ago and I am still waiting, so it remains to be seen if I will have issues using the new remote). this is a product review of the TV itself, because I was a little shocked that you can’t do anything with the TV without the remote.

I had to connect an actual fire stick to the tv and change the source to the HDMI connection in order to watch programs. but again, I can’t adjust the volume. Remotes are periphery and as such are capable of failure like this, it happens, but should not happen often! Would I recommend this item? yes, as long as the remote is operational.

We were happy with our purchase of this TV, but being kind of a budget TV, it does have some drawbacks. First, we have it in our bedroom as we like to have the TV on as we fall asleep. This TV is BRIGHT and the brightness adjustment does not dim it very far down.

A brightly lit scene definitely lights up the room! I reallllllly wish we could dim it down more. Second, the viewing angle is pretty narrow – the picture looks GREAT straight on, but degrades quickly when viewing from an angle (all LCD TV’s do this, but this one’s viewing angle is definitely more narrow than our LG’s.

). That being said, it is not a problem at all for where we have it, but it might not be suitable for a big room where lots of people will be sitting all around it – just a heads up. Regarding the smart TV features — we have always been a Roku household, and one of the reasons I bought this model is to try out the FireTV integration for myself.

I was pleasantly surprised – it is very well integrated in my opinion. I found it to be intuitive, easy to use, and easy for a long time Roku user like me to adapt to. The bottom line is that it is a great value for a 4K smart TV and I would definitely recommend it as long as you are OK with the brightness and narrow viewing angle limitations.

(It would be better – perfect even – for a home office, in my opinion. ).

I have been a big brand my whole life but needed two tv’s and just didn’t want to spend thousands. I saw the Insignia brand and read it is a Best Buy product. I assume they wouldn’t get behind a product unless it was pretty good.

I’ll tell you what, I’ll never buy a big name tv again. These Insignias have everything you could possibly want. Actually more than what I want. I don’t want Fire so, I just didn’t set that up. I wanted Smart TV capability plus the ability to watch my cable TV.

Set up was extremely easy. One 55″ TV I hung on the wall with a $20 mount. The 50″ I attached the legs with 2 screws in each. You hook it up, turn it on and the prompts take you though setup. You have to have an Amazon account for more functionality – not Prime, just an amazon account.

Do it, it’s work creating an account. You need to if you want more than just 5 app stations, like Hulu, You tube, etc. First TV setup, I thought something might be going wrong because it kept saying it was updating, then seemed to finish then updated again.

Happens two or three times. Let it. Eventually everything comes up beautifully. I think made it so my cable remote controls the set so never need to touch the insignia remote. Search google how to set up your cable company remote.

Comcast was simple. I absolutely love the sets. I think the 50″ was $239 and the 55″ a little more than that and I couldn’t tell the difference between this picture and the Sony in my basement that I overpaid for several years ago over $2k.

We initially bought the smaller version for the kitchen which was faulty. John Lewis’s service was excellent in arranging a replacement, when we opted for a bigger screen. The product is neat and appears well built but the picture quality is not great despite a number of attempts to adjust it.

The sound was very tinny so we had to buy a small soundbar. The unit can be operated from a 12/24v supply but we are unlikely to use that facility. Overall it’s a nice size and design for our kitchen but an expensive option given the quality of the picture and sound.

Needed to replace our ancient Veltech TV, after many, many years of great pictures etc. Boy, have they moved on! Loving the ease of setup of the Avtex, we get the full 24” screen, and it has many features I’m yet to discover.

Great I can watch one channel &record another with the free USB stick too.

Love this TV as it is a great size, quality picture & has all the functions we require. Can get live pause, record & use DVD as well within the one device (as long as you have a USB stick). This is great for traveling in the caravan as only need the one device & keeps weight to a minimum.

Only recommendation is to get a sound bar as the sound is like most modern TV’s, very tinny.
