I am so happy with our new Samsung TV. I’m even more happier about never having to plug in or switch to another Fire Stick or TV Box again. It makes you wonder what will come after Smart TVs with how flawless and exceptional these TVs are.

We love our 65” Samsung TV which we always mount to our wall for optimal viewing. It was a lot heavier then we expected which made us feel it is better made and more durable. It mounted easily on our wall and basically had to just plug it in.

It paired easily with everything and we had it setup in 5 minutes even to our cable remote. As soon as you turn it on the setup option pops up and easily guides through the whole process. When the TV finally come on we were blown away with the clarity.

The TV is amazingly clear. This TV is equipped with Samsung’s Quantum Processor 4K that automatically optimizes the picture to deliver a more immersive experience and the Ambient Mode+ mimics the wall behind it and elevates your space by turning the screen into décor which is pretty cool.

It also includes multi view and splits your TV screen in two, putting the stuff you’re watching on one side while mirroring your mobile screen on the other. It connects to the smart things app which I really enjoy so I can control it through my devices too.

The sleek and slim OneRemote automatically detects and controls all compatible connected devices and content and if you have loud kids like we do Active Voice Amplifier analyzes the ambient noise and enhances the voices in the scene so you can hear the dialogue clearly.

It’s compatible with most voice assistants which there aren’t many out there but you have the option to use Bixby, Alexa or Google Assistant which is convenient. I have to say we haven’t found anything to really dislike yet other then the adjustment of one TV to the next.

We love the picture, sound, clarity and ease of use with this TV.

I’ve had this TV (QE55Q90T) about 3 months now, and I am really disappointed with it. As a bit of background, I upgraded from an 8 year old, cheap-at-the-time, 720p plasma set that was reaching the end of it’s life.

I’m not a TV connoisseur and I didn’t think I was particularly fussy but I did want a higher-end TV so paid a premium for this Q90T as opposed to some £400 set. The good points are the brightness is great the colour is great and the Samsung UI for the most part is decent and my wife gets on with it so that’s a win.

I’ve never seen any tearing of the picture from any of the sources I’ve fed into it that I’ve witnessed on friends less expensive TVs (this was one of my primary reasons for spending more) so technically the TV ticks the boxes of the criteria I initially wanted it to meet.

The old plasma suffered badly with reflections when the room was bright and the Q90T has removed this issue completely, which is a big befit too. I also bought a HW-Q70T soundbar to go with it and the integration is ok.

The e-ARC works well and the sound is fantastic (though the Q-symphony thing is a gimmick to my ears). Most niggles I had with it have been solved by firmware updates, though there is one remaining one where one (of two) of the TV remotes doesn’t reliably mute the sound when the soundbar is in use.

There are two major negatives with this TV. The first is that the blooming is not good when I’m testing it, but in reality there are few situations where I notice it without intentionally looking out for it during real content.

It would not make a good PC monitor because of this though. The worst issue and the one that annoys me every day, is that the ‘dirty-screen-effect’ is appalling given the cost of the TV. Anything with solid colour (particularly cartons/animations) or panning shots (snow,grass,sky etc) really shows it up.

I don’t think my wife has noticed however, unless she’s keeping quiet because she thinks I haven’t noticed and doesn’t want to upset me(!). Regardless, there is often an obvious muddy looking grid behind the picture which cannot be unseen once you notice it.

My daughter watches some cartoons and it’s really noticeable. She’s fortunately not at the stage of being fussed by it, but if that (or potentially games) was the primary content I was watching then I would have returned the set.

The only reason I haven’t exchanged the set is because I have seen forums online with many Q90T’s with worse examples of DSE. As far as I can tell mine is roughly ‘average’. If I had paid £300-£400, I would have gotten over it more easily but for the price Q90T sells for I wouldn’t have expected it.

Given this, I’d really recommend against buying this TV.

I have owned five Samsung flat-screen televisions over the last eight years. This TV is far and away the finest TV I have had. It provides an unparalleled viewing experience and a surprisingly excellent sound quality across the full sound spectrum for casual viewing and listening.

When watching a movie in 4k with high dynamic range attributes, the image is astonishingly good. One easily gets immersed in the movie or sporting event. Scene after scene, including fast action sports or challenging scene lighting and difficult camera angles, the dynamic capabilities of this TV are superb.

As a family of five, we have different viewing positions in our family room, yet the clarity and realism from any position is the same: engaging, lifelike, and visually gratifyingly. The extreme dynamic range between the darkest blacks and whitest whites exceeds our most demanding expectations.

I suspect that this stark improvement comes as a result of the significant advancements made by Samsung’s execution of their Direct Full Array 16x LEDs. Attractive Ambient Mode, other advanced features and conveniences, and an attractive minimalist profile make watching a movie or playing a hi-def game an absolute joy.

We cannot detect any game lag whatsoever in even the most demanding of fast-action games. Samsung has all of the bases covered with what has become for us a highly enjoyable way to watch movies, play games, or to simply and casually watch a TV or news program.

I’ve had this set for 2 weeks now and love it. It’s does everything I wanted it to. It’s fantastically bright. I personally find the contrast fine. A lot of reviews focus on stats and benchmarking, but for me I’m more interested in the useability.

I think Samsung could work on their menus more. The remote and the UI aren’t really sympathetic to each other. One is always clicking to the far left side to get to settings and sources, it’s not really optimal.

But if u have a regular old Samsung remote then u can get around this with direct access to most features. Smart Things is useful too, so you can set up one tap shortcuts. HDR looks great, and gaming on this screen is a joy.

I find some games work well with Game Mode, others better off without it. I love Ambient Mode, and there’s a nice Music Visualiser that starts up when you Bluetooth your phones music to the TV – I didn’t read about that in any other review but is quite cool and stylish.

You can switch to ambient mode visuals also if u want. All in all as a TV I love it, I just think the menu needs work and Samsung should move away from putting Ads in the main UI – as I feel this is half the reason the menu screen is jeopardised.

Some customisation would be great there. Outside of that I’m very happy, great picture quality, great physical design, lots of great features.

I purchased this TV to replace my old 42 inch LG that died on me. I spent a lot of time looking at TVs in the store and this new line by Samsung by far had the best picture for the price range in my opinion.

This TV is very large, and awkward to pick up by yourself, so I suggest having one other person to help you unless you are stubborn or too excited to get it set up like me. The picture did not need adjustment other than turning off the Motion Plus settings such as blur and judder reduction, they make regular TV look weird, so if you turn those off you will be happy.

The sound quality is great thanks to the bigger speakers on this model. I really like that this TV has game mode settings. I am using older game consoles that required a converter from composite to HDMI.

The TV lets you configure them in original 4:3 resolution or 16:9 with a fit to screen option which is great. It also compensates for input lag and has next gen gaming features with the HDMI 2. 1 port.

One of my friends who came by was watching my TV for a bit and it already made him consider getting one even though his TV is newer because he thought it looked so good, so that made me happy! I have had this TV for a few months now and I would recommend it.

Bought this tv (QN85A) after research based on the many positive reviews, both user and professional. Had it delivered on 30th Dec , once switched on noticed both a horizontal and vertical line of missing pixels.

Tried different signal sources still the same. Immediately contacted John Lewis tech support whom requested pictures of the screen and agreed the tv was faulty and required replacement. Only now stock at zero with no replenishment date available.

Offered a full refund which I have taken. Arranged re collection date, but on day 2 prior to pick up, the tv started to switch itself off and on continuously, without user intervention. Confused and annoyed I Unplugged the tv and packed it back into its packaging.

Very disappointed that a new quality premium tv from Samsung should be faulty straight out of the box. Many hours wasted and also missed out financially, as the dates for the Samsung cashback scheme had ended.

This is a wonderful tv. I wanted something with a good screen that would be great for console gaming, but that could also have VLC for easy direct streaming from my local network media server. These requirements narrowed my options down to Hisense, TCL or Sony.

The Sonys were way overpriced and it seemed the Hisense beats TCL on screen quality and upscaling. Glad I went with the Hisense. The screen is terrific, black blacks, excellent brightness, very crisp and vivid picture, wonderful colors.

It is dramatically better than budget models like the Vizio V series I had previously. Gaming consoles are great on this tv. Xbox 360 at 1080p looks great on this tv, games play as visually smoothly and crisply as the console is capable of.

Xbox Series X is glorious–once you enable the necessary settings and game mode on the tv, the series x reports tv capabilities with “all boxes checked. ” Tv signal check confirms it–4k, 120hz, HDR etc.

Absolutely great! The android os is a user friendly version of that platform, quite customizable, and many apps available. It works smoothly and with little to no lag. This tv works great with local network media servers.

I installed VLC and steam straight from a dedicated media pc with RAID hdd storage array. This tv has handled various formats I throw at it–MKV h. 265 bluray rips are no problem, it’ll do old avi files, anything h.

264, it actually does better than a dedicated android box I have for a different tv. I have a big collection of DVD rips and this tv does a really nice job upscaling old 480p/480i content. Obviously it’s not going to be mistaken for 4k, but it does much better with SD than a lot of other tvs, especially budget models, bout also within its own class.

1080p HD sources upscale quite nicely as well, with full 4k UHD sources looking better but not THAT much better. I’ll note that the tv does does take some tweaking of settings to get looking right. I use game mode for console gaming of course, but for other video sources from classic big budget films to shoddy YouTube videos, I tend to like standard picture mode with high local dimming, Film motion enhancement, motion clearness on, active contrast off–but you do you! As for cons, there are a couple.

One, there’s no analog audio out–only digital audio; analog video in is done with an included RCA to mini adapter which is disappointing. The remote could also be better. The rounded shape doesn’t fall easily to hand, and causes it to be unstable on couch arms and end tables.

The buttons have a nice feel and click to them, however the backlighting is not very useful since it doesn’t go on until after you’ve pushed a button, and doesn’t stay in but a second. It should have motion sensing and customizable backlight timeout.

Dual band wifi is very nice, but I use hard wire ethernet and am disappointed that the tv doesn’t have gigabit ethernet, it’s only 10/100, sure it’s enough to stream 4k but really that’s just an obsolete adapter and only done by manufacturers to be cheap.

Finally, I don’t use the voice control but appreciate that there is a hard cutoff switch for the mic, that’s a great touch. However, the mic module has a series of too-bright LEDs to indicate mic status.

The lights have a mind of their own, sometimes on, sometimes off. They are not controlled by the setting that allows you to turn off the power LED–but they should be! I put some light blocking stickers on mine.

Overall, though, this is a great tv for gamers, movie lovers, streaming all the latest ultra high def content, and for those who like to “roll their own” streaming also. I’m hard to please but I do recommend this high performance, above average tv!.

Maybe it’s just my unit, but there’s just a lot of issues with the TV and my soundbar. To make sure nothing was wrong with my soundbar, I connected to my LG OLED. No problems for a week. But with this TV, there’s problems getting the TV to consistently recognize the Soundbar via HDMI ARC.

I get picture but no sound. For my setup, I have a Roku Ultra connected to the soundbar, then have the soundbar routed via HDMI Arc. As I stated, picture but sound that does not consistently stay on and drops out intermittently.

The only way to reset it is to power cycle the entire TV. At a certain point, I said “Forget it. ” I connected the Roku directly to the TV and just decided to connect the soundbar via optical. Worked fine for a month or two, but now, when near the lowest volume levels, sometimes the sound just cuts out AGAIN.

The only way to fix it is to, once again, power cycle the entire TV. There’s just too many minor annoyances to give this a full recommendation. I’ve always made sure that the TV firmware is up to date, but still have the annoyances with the sound.

That being said, the picture quality is great. Sound quality is terrible, like all flat screens these days, hence the soundbar. But I’m sure there are other great looking screens out there as well that will have an easier time communicating correctly with external devices.

The Hisense U8G ULED 4K is my first experience with Quantum Dot technology, it is a leap forward in TV viewing. FYI, ULED is Hisense’s naming scheme for the equivalent of QLED found in other brands. To paraphrase Shakespeare ‘A rose by any other name would look the same…” In reviewing the Hisense U8G I set it up next to my LED 4K UHD TV with HDR, first impression was ‘Wow!” Quantum Dot tech is a dramatic leap forward.

The bright hues are well defined, and the shaded areas were realistic shading where many TVs will only show black or dark grey. Spectacular. The spectrum of colors are brilliantly stunning, rich, and dynamic to subtle.

Bottom line the Quantum Dot technology sold me over and I have already replaced my 55” LED 4K UHD with a 55″ Quantum system in my bedroom. One notable of the Hisense U8G over my one and a half year old 4K system is the absolute speed increase in all operations from the Android Home screen to my DirecTV processes.

The smoothness is massive selling point for me. The time lapses I was having in controlling my older TV were not fun. Have to love the newer gen processors and tech. Setup is rather straight forward, except you are sitting up a 53lb 65” set with a depth of 3.

5”. The two piece stand for the Hisense U8G is an excellent design that provides solid support while looking good and requiring only three feet of stand top space. Have had smaller sets that have required far more space.

If you are mounting the TV to a wall, you will need a substantial mount and solid mounting points. The Hisense U8G operates on the Android TV system, which I like and if you are familiar with Android, you will feel right at home with the set.

The Android OS has deep hooks with Google, supporting Google Assistant and Alexa. The remote and system setup ran very smoothly, and the system walks you through each step of installation. Just need to grab your passwords for Netflix, Prime, Wi-fi, and other apps you install.

The remote is well laid-out with six of the most popular app buttons. Remote is well laid out and includes voice, smaller than many of the remotes and quite easy to manage. Only knock on the remote are the edges at the bottom of the remote which are not comfortable if keeping the remote in my hand for extended periods.

It truly is a Quantum Leap forward in technology and is wonderful to watch. At the Hisense U8G price point it makes a compelling reason to give it a good look.

I purchased this 55” Samsung Terrace TV and had it installed by the Geek Squad. Wow, am I happy. It is hung from the ceiling and they checked clearances and made sure it was level. The picture is outstanding and I love the fact that I can stream through the TV without the need of an additional device like a fire stick.

Just like an indoor TV, I can download Apps to TV and stream programs. It’s only been about a month and there’s been no extreme weather so I can’t speak to that but I don’t anticipate any problems. The porch is covered and screened so direct sunlight is not an issue for me.

I am just enjoying being able to sit on my porch, with a beer and cigar (can’t smoke in the house) and not miss any of whatever game I am watching. The TV is expensive – but you get what you pay for – and worth it in my opinion.

TERRIBLE Television. I bought a 46 inch Bravia 12 years ago and it has been awesome!! Still works great today. I got this one as a gift in May of 2022. Now, 5 months later, I’ll be watching something and the screen will go black.

Sound will work but no picture. So, I turn it off and back on and then I have no sound or picture. I have done all the reboot sequences recommended (unplug for 60 seconds and turn on, unplug for 60 seconds and hold the power button for 60 seconds, leave unplugged for 8 hours) sometimes it will come back to life, most times the led flashes a red light 5 times.

Since it’s only 5 months old, it should fall under the 1 year warranty. I try to do a claim with Sony warranty and they have confirmed it needs service but will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help because I don’t have a receipt.

I’ve told them repeatedly, it was a gift from my parents and they no longer have the receipt. Bottom line, avoid Sony at ALL costs. They WILL NOT BACK UP THEIR OWN PRODUCTS. Total garbage from a company I trusted.

Went through a period when it would reboot daily, at times in the middle of watching something, at other times after turning on. Now the rebooting is not an issue, but in a period now in which chromecast does not work.

It was working for 6 months. Usually, would have to fiddle with it for 5 or 10 minutes but it worked. Then one day chromecast stopped working. We have a Britbox subscription that we used to watch via chromecast since the TV doesn’t support Britbox, i.

e. , can’t be installed- another negative. A year ago you couldn’t install Sling. It’s now supported. Great picture, but last Sony I buy. Too many headaches with the software.

This is a very good TV. I love everything about it, except for the audio issue. But Sony’s support is among the worst. I bought this TV last year in March within a couple of weeks I noticed that the TV intermittently switches from tv speakers to AVR.

When I contacted the vendor it was one day after their one-month return policy. They refuse to address the problem and referred me to the manufacturer. I called Sony and troubleshooting the TV my daily tedious activity.

I spoke to 6 or 7 tech support individuals. From April to June they had reset the TV 5 times. This is burdensome because of all the apps I have with different passwords that I have to reset after I reinstall them.

By mid-June, one tech decided to replace a part of the TV that may be causing the issue. By the way, this audio issue is a known problem with this TV other owners of this tv reported that Sony had to replace the part of the TV for them.

So, when the local tech called me to replace the part I wasn’t comfortable bringing a stranger inside of my house because Covid-19 was still raging in NYC. I called Sony and voice my concerns. They understood and we agreed that I will call back when things get better.

This week I decided to call back to replace the part because the warranty period is ending. I spend one hour and a half on the phone talking to different people. They wanted to go through the troubleshooting steps again to see if they can fix the issue and asked me to reset the TV again.

I tried to explain that the TV has the latest software and that did nothing. All they wanted is for me to reset the TV when all reviews from other owners explain that the procedure does not fix the audio issue.

They know after a reset they are going to ask me to observe the TV for a couple of days and call back. All they do is giving the customer the runaround so a different tech will deal with the issue the next time they call.

If you buy a Sony product pray you never have to deal with their customer service.

During the run up to Christmas, my trusty Samsung J6300 developed a lilac patch on the screen, which led me to look for an upgrade. I didn’t need to do a lot of research, as I tend to devour AV publications.

I was looking at a mid range Samsung TU8500 (extremely popular and unavailable) or a Samsung Q80T (has all the latest gaming ‘must haves’ and also unavailable). I therefore decided to ‘push the boat out’ and go for the flagship Q90.

The first TV delivered developed a fault and was returned (crack in the screen), but was a good example with a pretty clean screen. It definitely put a smile on my face. The replacement – not quite as much.

There is a little bit of DSE going on, but from what I have seen online, I still have a good example. It is only really noticeable when viewing a large area of screen where a single colour is showing and where the camera is panning – such as a football match or a stretch of sky.

A good source ( 1080 + ) more or less eliminates the problem on my screen. How do I rate this TV overall, well, I love it. No 4K TV on the market really handles standard definition well, so its just as well that I don’t watch much in the way of standard definition.

Feed this TV a HD source though and the picture is quite simply fantastic. UHD is often stunning! This TV does not support Dolby Vision, which is a bit of a downer. However, the TV does go very bright, so you might not miss it.

The sound is pretty good for a flat screen, but obviously a sound bar/system will vastly improve your experience here. A final thought – my wife was so mesmerised by the quality of the picture on this TV, she digested a whole series of ‘ The Crown ‘ in a couple of sittings.

What a great television. I’ll actually give it a 4. 8 rating, which I’ll explain later. This television has one of the best pictures that I’ve viewed. OLED might be just a little better, but you have to worry about burn in.

We have yet to tweak the picture settings, as right out of the box with the ECO sensor mode on, the picture looks great in both a bright and dark room. Colors are vivid and look exactly as they should and the HD upscaling really works well.

Controls are easy to use and the there are plenty of apps available. You’ll need a soundbar to match the great picture and you’ll want a Samsung model to take advantage of the Q Symphony function, which combines the tv speakers with the soundbar.

Ask your salesperson which models are available. We went with a Samsung HW-Q950T. Wow! It makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the action. Oh, and the reason for the. 2 deduction: While the reflections are handled pretty well, I think they could be taken care of just a little better.

My suggestion would be to hang the television and make sure that the mounting bracket has a good tilt function and will expand from the wall 6 to 8 inches, which will also help when you need to get behind this 75″ monster.

After a bit of tweaking we were able to get the correct angle and distance from the wall to take care of those reflections. Overall though, a great Samsung offering.

This is our family room tv. The pictures, sounds and apps are great, no need for a roku stick. The voice control is also great. It supports ARC (Audio Return Channel), which means you can connect an hdmi cable from the tv to you ARC supported receiver so that you get all the streaming apps sound through you receiver, although the tv speakers are actually very good.

So, why only 4 stars? First, it reboots itself at least once a day. This may be the power lead or the power supply. I will contact Sony to get it checked. Second, not so serious, the WIFI dropped, I went to settings and it would not let me turn it on.

With a bit of research, the Android TV operating system needed resetting. To do this hold down the power button on the remote and click Restart. Third, although it has Google Play Store, don’t expect to be able to use everything you would normally be able to e.

g. FRNDLY TV (for your Hallmark movies and weather channel), there is a workaround. Download the web browser and then set the online version as a favorite. If you expect to be making video calls on this beast, remember, there is NO CAMERA.

Now for the reason that this is an amazing tv, it has true 120Hhz refresh rate and the incredible colors. If you watch action films, or football you need this TV.

Sony clams this is the best TV for PS5 but that’s a lie. The description states the TV supports 120hz, VRR, and ALLM. All features for HDMI 2. 1. however that is a lie. The TV recently received and update to support 120hz but the 120hz mode is unusable for gaming.

It introduces a very noticable blur. Sony clams it’s fixed on another update but it’s not. Based on top reviewers in the industry it looks like the 120hz blur is a panel issue with this Sony model and not something that can be resolved by a firmware update.

Additionally, VRR and ALLM are not supported and Sony refuses to tell customers when it will be added. I have reached out many times. Don’t fall for false marketing and empty promises. If a manufacturer states a feature will be added later, buy another brand that supports it or wait.

If you want a gaming TV buy a LG CX, Samsung Q series, or a Vizio OLED. All of which support the features they state on the box. If Sony would make things right by truly fixing the 120hz blur and providing a release date for the VRR and ALLM features, I’ll gladly update my review accordingly.
