20 Best Tv For Monitor (2022 Updated)

Previous to the A90J TV purchase I have enjoyed the Sony STR-ZA810ES Audio Visual Receiver hooked up to another brand flatscreen. Even though my older TV said it had eARC offering universal remote it was spotty, hit-and-miss.

ARC — signals passed to the components via the HDMI cables was a desired feature. Because I had the Sony AVR it made sense to buy Sony for my TV. It took a learning curve to get the AVR properly linked with the 55 inch A90J.

I had no sound from the TV with HDMI when it was playing! I could only get sound with TOSLINK cable. I knew an optical cable connection defeats Dolby audio features. I dusted off an old BluRay DVD and played that and wow, the audio was superb! The disc is true Dolby signal.

I learned later that A90J Sony turns off the TOSLINK connection when it senses a Dolby signal and the HDMI works as expected. Even when using a streaming service, such as Netflix, unless you are paying for a premium monthly subscription, you don’t have Dolby.

The universal remote feature does work and runs the TV sound to switch to Amp/external, switching streaming box back to TV antennae signal. The Sony TV is a SMART in that Google-TV is the OS. My preference is Android-TV and that is only because the latter uses Google Play-Store — more apps available including foreign-language news apps, games, etc.

Besides, my streaming box is the Nvidia Shield and it enhances the picture on the Sony TV a small bit because the streaming box upscales if it can. I’ll let the other reviews rave about the picture. I like it too.

I like that I bought a Sony appliance that works great with Sony AVR and other brand products.

We’ve had one of these for a few weeks now & are generally very pleased with it. Easy to to connect & set up. However beware the included feet on the 55inch version do not install far inboard of the screen edges (Eg as shown on the Sony website for the 85 inch) – meaning you need a pretty wide supporting area OR you need to buy an additional aftermarket stand (as we had to).

The remote control is fast & easy to use. Menus are are also fast & logical / easy to understand. Picture is great, upscaling SD fairly well & showing really clear HD & Amazon Prime content I’ve tried some of the 4k content streamed from the Sony Core, but wasn’t impressed, picture quality was very good, but it seemed to be suffering from occassional “buffering” / stuttering – even though our broadband is massively faster than the stated 80MB/s minimum requirement.

Only disappointment so far is that the auto TV brightness, dims the picture considerably & when turned off, the picture brightness is still only “OK” for most live TV programs we watch via Virginmedia Cable & is occasionally darker than ideal for some older programs.

This can’t be overcome as the brightness is already on Max. This is also worrying for the long term if the OLED screen loses any brightness over time. Sound quality is really great, clear voices & punchy when expected (if using the standard setting & avoiding the “enhanced” options – which cause voices to become less clear & bass to distort) & is 1 of the main reasons I chose this version.

There’s surprising good but subtle, controlled bass & music sounds good too. Hope this TV lasts as long as our previous Panasonic (9 years & still good !).

This is mostly an OK TV, but I do have a few problems. The first is the Magic Remote which is activated by the scroll button that replaced the Okay button. Unfortunately, I have tremors in both my hands and the cursor jumps all over the screen if activated.

It is activated very easily by touching the scroll button. I have not found a way to permanently turn off this “feature” and when asked support about purchasing a different remote control I was referred to a company that sold the TVs but no remotes.

I am now in the process of purchasing a universal remote which I hope works with enough of the features to make it possible to watch TV leisurely. The second problem is the voice remote. I do not like voice activated controls, I am old-fashioned and like my hardware to be run by my fingers.

I cannot locate in the manual or anywhere else a way to disconnect the voice activation system, which I am able to disable on other items of mine. Third problem is the manual/LG Control Store and the Home Page.

On the home page are numerous apps that I will never use. The ones I use I have to scroll through many other apps to get to those apps everyday. I was told by support that I can order them or delete apps I do not use by updating them in the LG Control Store.

I cannot locate the LG Control Store anywhere in or outside of the User Manual. Searches bring up nothing or results that are not even closely related to my search. On my laptop or my phone I just have to swipe them off the page to delete them and drag them to rearrange them, why is it so difficult to manage apps on my TV.

New “features” are wonderful for those who like them, but they are a nightmare to those people that do not want them. I guess I shouldn’t complain as this is better than what I had, but I truly believe this was a waste of money and I will not replace any of my existing electronics with LG in the future and I definitely will not buy anything else LG.

This is a great TV, it’s my first smart one so I can’t compare to other brands. It was easy to set up out of the box, you just screw the crescent shape stand to the back & away you go. The TV found it’s channels easily (mines running on the satellite feed), & using your smart phone you can get all the catch up apps synced together with your other devices.

The picture is good & the sound is also quite impressive. I doubt you would need a sound-bar but it might depend on personal preference. My only criticisms are related to the magic remote & lack of a subtitle button.

I’m hearing impaired & need the captions most of the time, but like to switch them off for live broadcasts as the subtitles can easily get confused when people are talking live. But here’s the thing -on this TV I have to scroll through 2 or 3 menus to find the on/off toggle.

This would be ok, if you could set a shortcut but these only work for apps, not menu items. To add fuel to my rage the remote has added buttons for Disney+ & other apps which you can easily set a shortcut for, so the bespoke buttons are kind of pointless! The other issue with the magic remote is that the different apps use it differently.

For example on channel 5 & Youtube you can use the pointer (so you use it like a mouse), which is great. However on BBC Iplayer & ITV, the pointer is not available so you use the collar (a ring around the centre button which works like a curser).

Both these features are great on their own but it becomes confusing when hopping from app to app. I appreciate that the subtitles button is not an issue for everyone, but It’s 2021 & I feel it’s unforgiveable to not have a this button as standard.

Otherwise it’s a very good TV & well worth the money.

Overall fine. I couldn’t get the HDMI-2’s ARC/eARC working (tried multiple receiver/adapters), yet turning on ARC turns off the TV speakers (so there was no option to ARC as a backup/optional sound system; have to commit to one or the other – even if ARC works).

So opting for Bluetooth to sound system: There are a few rounds of struggles getting the “sound sync” (audio delays) coordinated, as the LG menus don’t clearly discern between the INTERNAL speaker audio delay, vs.

the BLUETOOTH transmission’s audio delay. and both of these update when you reset HDMI ports, and there’s no option to scroll delays forward or back (to coordinate with video that’s BEHIND the audio), so.

this all takes a few rounds. And then, when you get things all set: Turning OFF the TV now disconnects the TV from the Bluetooth speakers (of course), and. when turning ON the TV. the television doesn’t automatically RECONNECT to the bluetooth speakers.

So. you have to manually (or quicker: Voice command) reconnect bluetooth speakers, each time you turn on your TV. AND: The TV ships with “Eco” setting on screen (so screen is dim, and you have to navigate menus to find how to turn that off).

AND: The default “home” screen is a cluster of clutter and promos. (Some of which obscure the MENU offering of “Do you want to turn on your Cable Box? Yes, No?” – so you can’t even ANSWER that question).

So, you have to find your way through the menu system to STOP the “Home” screen from defaulting as the initial turn-on flash screen (with a screen full of ads and “Trending” and a bunch of other nonsensical promos).

But, other than (and after) those hassles. the TV is fine; does what it says. The picture quality, built-in speaker quality, build quality, magic remote, and LG ThinQ coordination makes LG TVs optimal, IMO.

I do not like to leave bad reviews, but I must for this one. This item arrived damaged in the box. The item was not needed yet when it arrived, as it was a purchase for someone else. When it came time to open the product, it was damaged inside the box.

When I contacted Best Buy for support, they said it was past the return window and referred me to Samsung. Of course, Samsung said the same thing and referred me back to Best Buy. Now, unfortunately, I am out $1,000 for a TV with no assistance from Best Buy or Samsung.

My advice, do not buy any item as a gift from Best Buy and definitely not a Samsung product. Best Buy was my first choice when purchasing products, but now due to the unhelpful customer service experience, I will be shopping elsewhere.

Overall good quality as I’ve come to expect from Samsung displays but mildly disappointed; this is a Tizen-powered Smart TV. I wanted a plain, ordinary model specifically without Smart features. This model is advertised as “non-smart” capable.

I paid extra for it (over the cost of a typical 50″ smart TV) for that reason. If you don’t connect it to the Internet you’ll see a screen overlay nagging you to connect and accept the Samsung TOS agreements.

I disabled the notification by connecting temporarily to WiFi, accepting the agreements and then disconnecting.

Amazing product. When you get to sizes this big, weight matters. and this product is extremely light, being able to mount this on a regular bracket set. The commercial application is designed to stay on for long periods without burn-in, and that is what we need for our application.

We purchased 3 units and could not be happier.

Good TV. The colors and gaming performance are excellent! There are a few things that make it a 4-star and not a 5-star TV. The main reason is the software. This is my first Vizio tv, and personally, I think that SmartCast lacks important features such as a store and the ability to remove applications.

There are also some apps that I wish it had such as NBC Sports, Xfinity Stream, and Spotify. The apps issue is solved by the built-in Chromecast, but I do wish they had more integrated apps. Second, sometimes my tv does not turn on after I click the power button.

The light indicator will blink multiple times and then turn off. Almost as if it is rebooting. Although this only happens once in a while, this really should not be happening on a new TV. I believe that this is a Vizio issue because I’ve seen reports of other models (even new ones) having this issue.

Overall, good gaming TV if you are on a budget. If mid-software and some minor bugs are a dealbreaker for you, I do advise spending a bit more on another brand TV.

Vizio always offers a good value. Bought this for my master bedroom, so didn’t need the best of their offerings. I have a P-Series quantum for the living room. and this M-series is noticeably of lesser quality, but still a beautiful picture.

Good bright colors with nice dark blacks. One odd finding is when you have calibrated the picture, these settings do not persist when in the menu or home screen. I find the brightness very strong on these screens for early morning or late night watching.

I also find the colors to be extremely and artificially saturated and vivid on the homescreen, which also cannot be adjusted in their picture settings. Biggest quality difference I see compared to the P-series is in the solid color uniformity.

Very noticeable, and rather significant vertical banding. This banding persists all the time, but mostly undetected in normal tv show viewing. Speakers are surprisingly decent for a flat panel, where most tvs these days are terrible.

Overall, good tv for the price.

Bought one to use as a second computer monitor and occasional TV in my home office. As a TV its fine, especially if you turn on the “Super Resolution” and noise reductions stuff to make low res OTA shows look tons better.

The webOS system is probably one of the best smartTV operating systems I’ve seen, though I don’t know how much I’ll actually use it since this is connected to a computer and I can just stream with that.

Especially because the TV speakers are tinny. Very LOUD but tinny, even with EQ adjustments. I’d rather use the 5. 1 surround system connected to the computer. My Mac seems to think this display supports HDR but do not tick that checkbox.

Getting it adjusted for use as a computer monitor for my Mac was tedious (maybe it’s better for a Windows computer, I don’t know). First of all you have to put it in “Game Optimization” picture mode, which is low latency, then tweak the brightness, contrast, sharpness/clarity, gamma, white point, and black level until it’s acceptable.

Some people also suggest giving the HDMI port a custom name can help improve display clarity. I’ve connected computers to other TVs where it adjusted automatically or you just had to select “Graphics Mode” but this one makes you work for it.

And no matter what I did I can NEVER get crisp text on this screen. While I gather it is the exact IPS panel they use in their FHD computer monitors, I think the heavy matte finish on the screen blurs sub-pixels a lot.

All the text looks slightly bolded to me. LG sells a couple of 27 inch “dumb TV” models, 27LP600B-PU and the 27LP615B-PU, that are specifically labeled “TV Monitor” so I assume those are better computer monitors than this device which is only labeled as a “Smart TV.

” The only reason I bought this over those was I needed two HDMI inputs and those other two models have only ONE(!) input. Those are also both edge lit and this is direct lit. I can live with this as a secondary monitor/TV, but I would not recommend it as a primary computer monitor.

I bought this TV to replace an Insignia that did not hold up even 3 years. It is for the kitchen thus the size is perfect. The TV has good features, clear picture. The built-in the WebOS though works fine has limitations.

I subscribe to Fubo-TV which was preinstalled but the menus were limited to non existent on while using the app on WebOS. Side by side, when I access Fubo-TV through my Roku stick, I get menus and option that I don’t get through WebOS.

I contacted Fubo TV and was apprised that WebOS does not offer the full range of functionality that Roku does. So I hooked the Roku back in to the TV. Effectively not using the WebOS. This apart I am happy with the performance of the TV but I am using this TV for only 3 weeks only.

Can’t say what will happen going forward.

LG’s IPS display panels provide exceptionally wide view angles and beautiful picture quality similar to plasma TVs. We bought this TV for a basement exercise area. The built-in wireless and smart feature work flawlessly with our second floor wireless router.

The only minor nit-pick is the volume control requires a huge change in setting for a relatively small change in volume, just like our other LG TV. LG seems to use a linear taper volume control rather than the industry standard log taper.

I preferably use my monitor for watching movies, PPV’s, work, and school. Work and school more importantly. The overall is experience is great but the monitor does lag and glitch in certain areas where I would like it to improve on.

I’ll mention it from the area I’ve been troubled with the most to the area where I beleive connections seem to be the problem. (1)Microsoft (MS) Word does a lot of glitching when I type. I am not sure if this is the case with other MS applications but I’ve been working around it with my other devices.

Due note that I use a Bluetooth (BT) keyboard but the issue does to be the same on other devices) (2)There is a bad & noticeable lag at the start up when opening and operating the menus in moving through applications or settings etc.

This lag slowly fades away as the moniter adjust. (3)My BT mouse appears on the list of BT connection for the monitor but does not pair. My 3 keyboards don’t seem to have this problem (nor do my other devices when connected vai BT) as they connect with no issue.

There is also a small lag with the BT mouse through DEX. I am not very concern about it as the finger pad DEX uses through devices has no latency. (4)Websites are very small & hard to work with when connected on DEX.

My tab doesn’t have this issue. In general I really enjoyed the monitor as it provides me with the entertainment I need & more. All the functions I need for productivity are there & can be even greater if these technicalities weren’t yielding.

I had used 34 monitor with 3440×1440 resolution for 7 years. But for the first couple of days I was still a little overwhelmed by this 42. 5 viewable size. I had used this monitor for about two weeks.

and think it’s a great monitor overall. I put it on desk with viewing distance being 3 to 5 feet. The stand is neither too high or too low and its thin foot did not take much space. I abandoned the thought to buy an after-market adjustable stand.

The image quality is very nice and 42. 5 viewable area with 3840×2160 resolution can display multiple windows for easy viewing. The thin bezel on all sides also made the monitor neat and not too big on its physical size.

I am using a digital KVM switch for mouse and keyboard switch and shared external hard drive and USB flash. I do not know if blue tooth keyboard and mouse connected to the monitor can control all PC or macs or drives connected to the monitor.

The inputs are little lacking, I do wish it has at least one Display Port. The most annoying thing is the remote control. Some may like it with fewer buttons but to me some times its annoying, maybe I haven’t found the right way to use it.

e. g. to switch among the 2 HDMI and USB-C and other streaming sources except dedicated Netflix and prime video , you need to press the buttons on the menu many times. If you want to change settings, after you are done and you also need to press it multiple times to exit on screen menu.

With additional 1- 3 buttons in a row on the remote it may make some task much easier and quick with fewer presses. The Blue tooth connected audio degrades the audio quality, it could be the fault of my DAC / Amplifier which has older version of Blue tooth.

I haven’t tried the digital audio via the ARC and can’t comment on its quality. The free stream services are nice to have. Though I pointed a couple of minor issues, I still love this monitor and recommend it to anyone liking big monitor.

So i bought this because I wanted a monitor to connect my xbox to it and this was perfect because when I’m done gaming I can just just watch some shows on it just like my tv. I love the 32 inch size, the fact the its 4k and that it’s smart.

Iconnected it to my alexa devices and now I can control it with my voice. Its great for gaming too and as a regular computer monitor. I have a mini pc that I hooked up to it which is amazing. So i basically have a tv, computer and gaming monitor all in one which i so awesome! Would definitely recommend getting this especially if you’re limited on space and can’t fit a tv.

Bonus fact is that its more portable than a tv so if you have to pack up and go somewhere you can being it with you and watch your shows, do some work or have fun and game a little. This really is the best, plus its samsung so you know its top tier quality.

Most of the stuff I own are samsung. A samsung phone, tv, computer monitor, sound bar, chromebook, earphones, watch, laptop, now they just need to make a samsung smart glasses and I will be all set! Seriously buy this thing because you don’t want to be missing out on something that is this great and the price is really good too which is a bonus.

Basically if you’re looking for a really good quality monitor, look no further than the m series smart monitors from samsung. Im even thinking about getting a second monitor for my gaming set up which would be really awesome so I can use one to game and one to stream my shows!!.

Ive owned this for a month or so. Had to add a soundbar. Had issues installing it, as the limited information in the box was not accessible to someone with weak eyesight. no contrast between the text (a pale tan colored ink) and the paper it was printed on, limited accessibility on that, plus.

NO MANUAL in the box. So the install was confusing, weak sound (expected as many flat screens have no bass), just about took it back to the store. Instead incurred another expense for decent soundbar, and an extra ink cartridge so I could print out the owner manual, so purchase almost doubled the price of the set for me.

LG may want to rethink the limited paperwork to make it readable (no contrast between print and paper, plus not enough information about that jam packed remote control with no key to what the buttons were for just goofy symbols which added to frustration).

Not for someone with a vision challenge unless they have good tech skills. Same for trying to find the complete 41 page owners manual in hope to get things in black and white (contrast for vision) and it had lots of technical in it not needed and the LG website was confusing took almost an hour to find the right manual.

LG could have put in a postcard sized notice with a direct URL to the owners manual, that couldn’t be that much of an expense. This is bottom of the line set, the picture is ok, but LG giving vague but perhaps adequate for someone who already knows about the LED tvs information in the box did not seem very friendly to someone forced to move up to this type of TV.

Someone who has owned a set for more than 10 years could be in the dark, especially if older and with slightly handicapped vision. Bigger text with contrast on the box inserts and maybe a map of the remote????? I purchased an extended warranty which I hope I wont need.

Also, it made a horrid growling noise every now and then and the screen got lines for a few seconds, as I “forced” it to accept my ROKU as that is what I am used to even though I lose one of the input connections.

and that settled down hasn’t done it for a week or so. I regret not purchasing something with ROKU pre-installed in it. But as stated, the picture is OK but I could have used an owner’s manual in the box, not online to be printed out.

LG, please look at accessibility issues (switch to black ink at least). I and maybe many others need more documentation out of the box to be read easily.

Purchased this tv last month and hung it on my wall easily! The picture, sound, and free LG channels are amazing!! The tv setup is quick, understandable, and very easy to do. The remote is a perfect size and weight; the buttons are easy to figure out, quickly responsive too, and the shortcut buttons for Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, and LG Free are great to have so I can watch quickly and easily.

The setup was quick, simple, and pretty fun! It is smaller than my last 32″ flat screen tv but I really love that since I have it hung on my wall over two computer monitors. The thin siding makes the screen really prominent and a perfect 32″ screen, so this is a great size for small to medium-sized bedrooms.

I do recommend keeping the manual handy, there were a few setup steps that I needed added assistance with (which could have been because of my disability – Sensory Processing Disorder) and so I did not understand without having the manual.

Thankfully the manual is detailed and easy to understand. I purchased this television at a great price too so I honestly have no complaints!.

Overall, I like the TV for my kitchen. Picture is sharp and sound is adequate for a kitchen. Owning a larger LG TV, I was looking for consistency with the remote and OS features. I was disappointed even though the TV has WebOS, the “LG Channels” feature which finds and adds free internet channels to the “channel lineup” when scanning for channels (for those who have WIFI in their homes) was not included on this model.

So in effect, even though it has WebOS like my larger LG TV, there was not the product uniformity I was expecting; (my bad?). Because I use a digital antenna, the number of “channels” on this set is a fraction of my other LG TV.

I suppose I can search for and find “internet channels” using the smart tv features, but the missing “LG Channels” feature was an easy way to flip through both broadcast and internet channels without having to switch modes on the remote.

If this TV was for anywhere other then my kitchen, I probably would have returned it.

I might have waited and missed this excellent TV at its Sale price. The TV checks all the feature boxes in the 50 inch size that it has on the 65″ size and that is *not* true of many other manufacturers’ models.

(So maybe they do but don’t believe a reviewer that says “we tested one size but the other sizes should work the same. ” Maybe they should but more often they don’t!) It has 60Hz panel with good picture quality.

To me, the screen is more than bright enough for the bedroom and I need to investigate more to get it dim enough to watch comfortably in the dark. There are a lot of image quality controls. You need to pay attention because some effect the entire TV, done only effect the input that they were set on.

The remote feels cheap and is not intuitive. You might have to read the manual! I choose a Google TV because I was already use to running a Fire TV dongle and I hoped to get additional functionality with the Google environment as another option.

I think that YouTube offers more on Google TV and I can view my Google movies directly without having to cast them from another device like you do with Fire TV. Other than that, I’ve spent most of the time on the Fire TV dongle as I think it has a better user experience.

Important to me: when I ask Fire TV assistant a question it directly returns to the movie or whatever I was doing when it’s done. The Google assistant stops the action, exits the app and leaves you there when it’s done.

You have to manually re-launch the app you were using and restart your movie selection. That seems very primitive to me. I have the Fire TV dongle, the cable box and my laptop connected. My old laptop only supports 4k at 30Hz and that is crystal clear and laser sharp while working with text or surfing.

My gaming rig is in another room. I’ve installed the Steam app on the Google TV side and it works as expected though I’ve only tried 1080p play so far. Growing pains. Voice activation of the Google assistant hasn’t worked since the last update though still works if you push the button.

The Fire TV dongle used to turn the set on and off (when using Alexa commands) but that doesn’t work right now either. I expect these back in another update and don’t deduct for that because they seem to be coming often enough.

The clunky task switching when using Google TV though is a real bother and that does take one star off. Hope that helps!.

After a month of research it came down between the TCL 5-series and the Sony X80K both in 65″. The store demo of the Sony was absolutely gorgeous and I must say for a direct lit panel I was very impressed.

However, I wanted full array LED dimming which the TCL 5-series has. Unfortunately the TCL 5-series was not on display for demo purposes. For $250 less the TCL offered more in terms of picture quality.

on paper that is. I knew based on all the reviews I’ve read and all of the YouTube videos I’ve watched that it was a gamble whether or not one would get a great looking panel or one that was bust hence the term the “panel lottery” After pacing around the store for 20 minutes, I ended up purchasing the TCL knowing that BB had a 15 day return policy if I was not happy with this it.

When I got home I nervously set it up hoping I had made the right choice. Overall setup, from unboxing, installing feet, updating software, and tweaking the picture took about 30 minutes. I then went to NETFLIX and started watching one of the latest nature shows narrated by the British fellow and boy I knew right away I had won the “panel lottery”! The picture was beautiful! The colors were so vibrant and the blacks were inky and dark.

It blew away that Sony X80K that was on display at BB!!! My previous TV was a Samsung 50″ plasma from 2013. This 65″ TCL is huge for my medium sized living room. But after a week of watching it I got used to the size.

The QLED technology is getting so good it’s giving OLED a run for their money. TCL in my opinion is the best value for your money. I paid $499. 99 for this TV as opposed to an OLED that’s 3 times as much.

I am very happy with this purchase and I highly suggest this TV to anyone who wants an awesome picture quality on a budget! The sound on the TV is not very good. I am running an optical cable out from the TV into my Denon receiver.

And lastly I will say if you don’t want the “soap opera” effect you’ll have to go into the settings and turn it off in the “motion” portion of it. I hope this review helps you in making a decision in getting this TV! Happy shopping!.

Not sure if there’s a different in the very end of the model number, I know a few are pretty close. But a lot of people claim this TV doesn’t support 120Hz and I can only assume it’s because they don’t know the meaning of the settings they need to enable to enable it, or maybe think their content is 4k but it’s not… or perhaps they don’t realize they need a better HDMI cable because yes; although all standard size HDMI cables work for all standard size slots, there are versions of the standard connect with different capabilities in terms data transfer, limiting things such as higher refresh rates, HDR and more.

And even if you buy a top quality, brand or overpriced cable. it doesn’t mean it’s going to be the best for the standard. I assume they think people willing to pay for expensive cables are also not aware enough to know they need a HDMIv2.

1 or better to play 120Hz at 4k and 60Hz at 8k. HDMI2. 0 can still make it to 120Hz, but only at 1080p. If you want 4k, you give you half of that for 60Hz. Specifically, I have a QN75Q80TAFXZA and game consoles can hit 120Hz even while in gaming mode.

It’s a great TV, replaced my 2012 55″ Samsung with it and other than lacking active 3D and the terrible new remote design, I’d say everything’s been an improvement hands down.

Fantastic picture and sound is a vast improvement over thin TV’s of a few years ago. Connectivity is excellent too BUT Basic functions like swapping from terrestrial to satellite antennas is obscure.

Whereas Panasonic had a dedicated button, Samsung hide this essential feature in their channel guide. The normal remote is condensed in size so hitting a wrong button is all too easy. Samsung, please go back to a full size remote.

I’m sure you could incorporate the talking remote into one package with regular buttons. Menus are deep and confusing. There is mention of Diseqc control and there are two satellite feeds but where’s the information? Using an on screen instruction manual whilst trying to set up the TV is a no go and please don’t say it’s saving the planet by not having a paper one.

The very fact that we are replacing otherwise functional, slightly older meodels that can’t be software upgraded negates any environmental benefit of removing a handbook. UPDATE! NO FREEVIEW PLAY! A HUGE disapppointment! My partner’s 5 year old Panasonic has it but from what I’ve learned Samsung does NOT support Freeview Play.

I’ve DOWNGRADED my stars from 4 to 1 for this reason. Also, after two weeks use and being a telecommunications tech and a qualified IT tech this beast has the least logical user interface I’ve ever experienced.

I would NOT buy it again had I known this. If only Panasonic would reintroduce the full Freesat interface on a circa 50″ set I’d flog this one off and never touch Samsung again! ANOTHER UPDATE: MAY 2021, 6 months of use and I HATE this thing.

What an annoyance it it! If I switch on another device, connected by HDMI, perhaps just in readiness to watch a DVD shortly, this self-righteous TV goes straight into configuring inputs mode. the remote control is disabled for the 2-3 minutes it’s in this annoying mode and the only way to get back to the end of the programme I was watching is to switch OFF the TV and on again! I’ve disabled Samsung’s horrible Anynet facility but the set still goes into this mode.

Additionally, If I switch OFF an HDMI device, the set goes into panic mode as if it’s had an arm chopped off. It again leaps into external device configuration mode and again locks out the remote control.

I absolutely DETEST this TV. It thinks it knows best and won’t allow me to just do what I want. DON’T BUY ONE unless you are unable to make decisions for yourself and need something that thinks it knows better than you.

Another moan: I’ve disabled all voice commands and taken the batteries out of the voice remote yet STILL the TV willsporadically turn off the programme I’m watching to configure voice commands. Give me back a Panasonic with Freesat anyday.

We decided to upgrade our TV and are we ever glad with our decision. Our experience with purchasing the new Samsung TV started with Zach W and Hassan – a review on that positive interaction was previously done.

Although our TV was only 6 years old, upgrading in size and newer technology is amazing. We went from a 60″ TV to 75″ TV. We were installing the 75″ TV in the livingroom and moving the 60″ TV to our bedroom to replace the 40″ TV.

We had the Geek Squad deliver our new TV, do the install/removing/moving the other TVs as well as a minor adjustment to move one of our Bose wall mounted speakers and remove/install a sound bar on the 60″ TV.

We can’t say enough about Christine and Kris from the Geek Squad. They were professional, courteous, and helpful in answering any questions we had. Admittedly, they had a problem with getting the TV mount off the wall in the living room and were concerned about our reaction.

A little bit of the dry wall was damaged but the damage was hidden by the new wall mount. People (us included) don’t realize a TV generates a certain amount of heat that will cause the wall mounting bracket to adhere to the wall.

No big deal. I’m sure some people would have gone ballistic but seriously it wasn’t an issue for us. You can’t see the small amount of damage at all. Kris had to move one of our wall mounted Bose speakers 1/2″ and did an amazing job with no noticeable marks left behind except for 2 screw holes for the mounting bracket that I fixed in no time with Polyfilla.

Kris even set up our new TV for us! We purchased the Geek Squad Protection Plan and it saved us a lot of money on all the work Christine and Kris had to do. Keep in mind each individual job has to be detailed on the Squad’s work order or it won’t get done and each individual job costs you money.

With everything we needed done, it would have cost us more than the cost of the Protection Plan. The Protection Plan covers a lot of other things. Well worth getting. We would not hesitate to recommend Best Buy and the Geek Squad.

First up I will say that I’m legitimately shocked and surprised by how much of a massive leap forward Vizio panel quality has taken. Last time I was in the market for a TV, Vizio products (like those from all other mid-range manufacturers) really couldn’t match the bigger names’ offerings.

But, boy, has that changed, at least in the budget-to-midrange sector. The picture quality of the V-series is simply superb for a standard LED panel, leagues beyond that of the big boys’ comparable displays, and absolutely stunning for this price point.

The V-series display is bright, colorful, has great contrasts, excellent viewing angles, and a lovely glossy finish. It performs spectacularly in both viewing and gaming. It’s incredible that such excellent image quality can be now be obtained at so low a price.

The software is equally remarkable. The long and short of it is that I absolutely loathe the industry leader’s software, and Vizio’s is the polar opposite of it. The user interface on the big S’s TU line is simply dreadful: it’s slow, sluggish, unresponsive, and constantly shoves their idiotic, paid content-packed and ad-laden home menu in your face at every possible opportunity.

Even something so simple as selecting source input is an arduous and time-consuming affair there. Vizio’s UI, on the other hand, is wonderfully snappy, fast, simple, streamlined, and functional: everything simply works, and it works instantaneously.

The same goes for Vizio’s Smartcast vs the leader’s streaming setup: snappy and smooth. Vizio’s on-screen keyboard is miles better than the big S’s, too, and, thankfully, totally lacks the unspeakably stupid “checkmark finish” feature that assumes you’re done inputting characters for your Wi-Fi password after five inputs and that forces you to restart entry once you inevitably mistakenly click it after pressing the left arrow key in trying to navigate to the next character.

Now, for the only sore spot with the Vizio: the sound. The speakers on this set are rather tinny, very much lacking in bass and lower midrange. They work, they get the job done, they sound OK under certain circumstances, but the market leaders still take the cake when it comes to sound quality in this market range.

The speakers on the TU line are unquestionably superior. The tradeoff in picture quality might be worth it, though. The Vizio offers Bluetooth functionality, as well, so you, the viewer, are able to pair your favorite headset with it and bypass the subpar speaker quality.

Many people invest in sound bars, as well, so if you’re going to go that route then the picture quality on offer here makes the V-series totally worthwhile. So, while the audio quality leaves a lot to be desired, it’s not enough to be a deal breaker.

I bought this for my parents so that they can stream and access additional programming to supplement OTA channels, which are pretty limited in their area. Overall, the Vizio V-series was easy to unpack and set up.

The picture and sound are great. There is a noticeable difference in the sound when streaming, though, as compared with OTA volume. Programs and movies seem really low and the maximum sound must be used for my parents to hear.

Now, they are older but there should not be a need to watch movies at a volume of 80, when the OTA volume is 30. I will review audio settings and possibly purchase the V-series sound bar to see if that helps.

One challenge is that the TV seems to drop the WiFi connection easily and requires a sign-in or connection test often. Thus has happened twice, once after a thunderstorm and once after high winds. Weather can be volatile in SW Pennsylvania.

It could be my parent’s WiFi or just Smart TVs, in general. I am new to Smart TVs, myself, but not to tech gadgets and WiFi does not always offer an infallible connection. The only other challenge (for my parents) is the remote.

Not a very useful one for the over-80 crowd, but thank goodness for voice control! It is not an intuitive remote and needs lots of practice and a gentle touch, especially if your father has big hands, heavy press, and no patience.

If i had seen the remote on display, i might i have opted for a different model from Vizio that has a more adaptive remote. The V-series was incredible value, and I would recommend the purchase of Vizio, as long as it continues to operate.

Since it really is only 3 weeks old, it might better served to reach out at the 30-, 60-, or 90-day mark to ensure continued satisfaction. Otherwise, so far so good.

The Vizio V-series 50″” TV is a purchase you will not regret spending your money on. For the price every penny is well spent. (No regrets here) To set the TV up was easy to do and understand. There are plenty of features to customize the TV to your watching preference.

The picture settings are truly amazing. The backlighting adjustment is a best friend when setting your viewing preference. I was truly impressed how I could control every aspect of the color to my visual liking, brightness, contrast, color, tint, sharpness even color temperature and if that’s not good enough push advance picture.

That’s a whole new level to greatness. Don’t be afraid to use it each function explains how to use it (Best used in dark rooms etc) which is great for somebody like me which is unfamiliar with picture terminology.

There is even a color tuner to tune in individual colors. I wasn’t aware TVs could do that. I won’t go much into detail about the audio except for it’s exceptional and adjustable. The Bluetooth paired instantly and labeled my device.

Love wearing my Bluetooth earbuds not to Disturbed other house members or to block out my surroundings. Functions on this TV are plentiful, timers and so forth. Ther Vizio has all the up to date apps which you can organize in the order of your choice and HBO Max and Prime Video like apps just connect a HDTV antenna to the available ports and watch live TV.

This Vizio is worth its weight in gold. Three weeks later I’m still learning new things that the TV can do. I’m a very satisfied customer.

If you’re planning to hang this on the wall, fine. But if you need it on a piece of furniture, consider this a one-star review and keep shopping. The design is TERRIBLE. It’s got these cheap plastic legs that are not adjustable, and sized so that the TV can neither straddle a cable box, nor rest atop it.

And of course the unit is not flat on the bottom, so you can’t rest it on anything without the legs. I went out and spent MORE MONEY to buy a TV riser for it, and it doesn’t fit on that, either. Now I have to decide if I want to take the darn thing apart and return it, or find a way to jerry-rig the legs.

I’m irked at the thoughtlessness of this design.

Purchased this tv and could not get it to work properly. No instructions in the owner’s manual on how to set up this tv. All information to set up the tv has to be access on the tv. The problem is that I only get a blank screen, so no way to set up the tv.

Will be returning it to the retail location and getting my money back. Will no longer purchase LG tv’s. Too much trouble to set up. Also the owner’s manual is useless and only have info on how to put the feet on, mounting to a wall, and external connections to it.

Nothing about how to set up to get tv channels.

Unhappy with the monthly fee for TV boxes from my cable company, I opted for this Smart TV because it has apps for Xfinity, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+, BritBox. The LG “dashboard” screen is somewhat annoying, but you can organize the apps with favorites first.

Poor reviews of the Xfinity Stream (beta) app for use with other LG products are overblown; it works just like it does on my smart phone, and I’m sure they will improve navigation in the app over time — maybe this 2022 TV has a faster processor.

With the new Xfinity 600 modem, this LG works great — so well that I’m buying another today,.

We purchased a tv from here a few years back and a only a handful of applications work. we took subscription of Zee5, mxplayer and such and they do not work. The app version in the app details and the content store are different.

We tried reinstalling. Tried costumer care, and they just told us nothing can happen. 3/10 would not recommend. Amazon firestick works better. Tv is (LG) webOS TV UH605T.

Guys please do not but LG led, in lg almost models wifi issues after one year, wifi will be not connected, better buy lg please buy other brand, I am totally disappointed, even same problem issues lot more peoples.
