20 Best Tv For Sound (2022 Updated)

The picture on this TV is superb, I couldn’t fault it. However the sound is a different story. Unfortunately when you watch movies such as blade runner, James bond no time to die, the latest fantastic beasts or any movie that has some deep bass in the soundtrack the whole back of the TV rattles and buzzes.

This obviously ruins the viewing experience. This occurs at standard volume level of 14, this is the same level Samsung uses for its built in audio tests. If you go louder it gets even worse. There are a few built in options, such as Intelligent mode which is the automatic mode which brings the best out of the TV picture and sound.

This mode creates the most amount of rattling. You can take it out of that mode with reduces it slightly but it is still very noticeable when watching movies with deep bass. Be warned, I contacted Samsung about this issue and they refused to acknowledge there is a problem with the back panel cover on this TV.

I supplied audio tests and spoke to their support at length and the only solution they offered was to go into the equaliser and adjust the bass levels. I don’t believe this is a realistic solution, given that the movie maker intended us to hear the sound in a particular way and removing the bass level changes the movie experience.

However even with Turing the bass frequency all the way down, it did not solve the issue. There was a mild improvement but not enough not to hear the buzzing. Unfortunately Samsung washed their hands of my complaint and told me to take it up with the retailer I bought it from.

I’ve had a similar experience with them also and have been left with no choice but to buy a soundbar to go with the TV. The two products together are brilliant, but I think it’s unacceptable that Samsung are selling a defective product due to the design of the TV housing.

If you tap the back of the TV you will notice the back plastic cover springs in and out in places. It is of poor quality for an expensive TV.

My previous pc was a 2016 65″ lg OLED so that is what I’m comparing it against. The menu system on the LG is better, the remote control on the LG is better, the power consumption on the LG is better and the absolute black level is better, and the black bezel and screen thickness are better on the LG.

Now, bearing in mind that I’m sure LG OLED have improved over the past few years, the Samsung is better in every other way. The LG was a constant struggle to get enough brightness during the day. That said, even through the Lg OLED black has no blooming (the Samsung does, a very little that you probably never notice, but it is there) both the LG and Samsung make a trade off in how dark vs how much detail in the darkness without making everything look rubbish when not in a dark scene, so it is pretty much a tie there.

The upscaling can only do so much for low bandwidth streaming so you’ll still see bands of colour rather than smooth gradients sometimes. Anything 4K is just phenomenally lovely. The “auto” setting are so good that I’ve gone back to them after trying to tweak for better results.

Most of the time it does a good job of balancing sharpness with blur (NOTE: I don’t watch sports, but anything from Marvel looks amazing. OMG the little details you can see in infinity Wars!). There is a calibration feature using your phone in the smartthings app but I can’t find it (maybe my galaxy s8 camera isn’t good enough).

The amount of colour in the Samsung is unbelievable, it looks great in showroom but I’ve turned it down to about 30%. The sound, I’m not excited about the speakers on the back that work ok to give a stereo sound but did occasionally buzz a little for bass notes (the whole back panel seems to be a sound board because I put a finger in a spot and the buzz stopped).

Paired with the Q990b soundbar and it is really good for movies but surprisingly not so good at concert music videos. Overall I’ll give it 4. 5 stars not because it isn’t a great TV (it really is) but because for the top of the line model in 2022 you might expect to get something a little nearer to perfect than this is.

That said, it is a great tv.

We got this TV to replace our dying 60″ LG plasma. It was an excellent TV that served us well for many years, we even repaired it once and probably could have again. Our old TV was going black screen making us turn it off and on repeatedly.

When we got the new TV and there was black screens in the middle of scenes, I had mini panic attacks that the screen had turned off! That’s how good the black levels are! I had very little interest in the WebOs operating system and fully expected to ignore it in favour of my own media streamers but I’m actually finding myself using the built in apps fairly often.

They run smooth and have frequent updates. Two of my favourite features are the “Enjoy TV Sound Together” and “Multi-view” The Enjoy TV Sound Together is an accessibility feature for Deaf and Hard Of Hearing users to connect with Bluetooth headphones or hearing aids and set their own volume.

GAME CHANGER! I have kludged solutions together for years in order to connect my hearing aids while still allowing my hearing family to listen at a reasonable volume. Those solutions always had lag but this one doesn’t.

I’m sold on this TV from this feature alone. The other feature I covet is the Multi-View which is picture in picture or side by side of two things. Sadly you’re not able to do two HDMI inputs at the same time but you are able to do HDMI/live TV and screen share, airplay, YouTube, Spotify, or camera.

My favourite is to have my show from my Chromecast on one while having my kids watching TV on the other. You can only select one sound input but my receiver captures it before the TV so the kids get those speakers and I get Bluetooth You can also browse a webpage and then spilt screen by selecting “TV view”.

This doesn’t allow video to play on a webpage at the same time but it’s still a neat feature. My SO has been enjoying streaming his videogames from his PC with the GeForce Now app or plugging in his steam deck.

The TV also has Miracast capabilities but unfortunately Pixel phones don’t have the capability to mirror screens with it but most computers do as well as some tablets. My son thought it was neat to mirror his Samsung tablet.

As far as the picture quality goes, we have no complaints, with minor tweaking we were able to get a super clear picture as well as have a daylight and a night mode. 4k nature shows have never looked so vivid and real.

The sound quality seems okay for built in speakers, we used the optical to connect our surround system.

What’s in the box? Fitting for opening a TV review to quote a movie line, It was surprising how big the box was when it first arrived. The LG company is a one I have seen regularly and used products from time to time but when looking for a new TV which coincidentally I was when I saw the campaign open up.

I had already been searching for different models and brands but LG was always coming up on top with reviews and recommendations. I have extended family whose last purchase was an LG of similar size so I was expecting good things but I could tell by opening the box that this TV had something special about it.

So I’m going from my first day impressions, setting up and trying a few apps so let’s get to it. My partner and I took great care in removing all of the packaging showing just how well it was kept during transport, first putting together the stand and mounting the TV together following the instructions which was very easy, I can’t deny we were a little uneasy when we first stood the TV up, it was seemed a bit on the “wobbly” side like the stand couldn’t hold the weight of the TV itself at first but once we had found the best position, it held strong and seemed to settle into place it’s definitely the main feature in our living room now, We want to try and mount the TV on the wall when we find the best mount for our needs but I will update you all on that quest when we take it.

Style and substance is what I found when the TV was up. The small bevel around the TV is barely noticeable especially when the screen is on, the quality of the picture just envelopes you into whatever you are watching.

We had a few teething problems when setting up. We had the application setting freeze for a second or two, trying to go in and out of applications too fast was to blame. My partner was not keen on the magic remote control function but I felt a little like Harry Potter trying out his new wand, on the other hand she was extremely happy with the option to enable the “AI Picture Pro & AI sound” setting that we were given when first setting up the TV she noticed straight away how crisp it made the quality of the image and how cinematic it made the sound quality.

I guess the best way to review the software and applications will be to play around for a while so stay tuned for part 2 of my review.

TV has a great picture, but being at the lower end of the QLED range, it lacks some features. I knew this when buying, so not complaining. One issue I am having is the sound. The inbuilt speakers are understandably tinny, so thought mating it to my LG soundbar would cure that.

However, the voices just keep going quiet then loud, but everything else stays a set volume. I think it has something to do with the OTS lite trying to adjust the voices to the position of the person on the tv.

Contacted Samsung and tried a few things but no joy. For anyone thinking it’s the soundbar at fault, I had a Samsung TV connected to it for years with no issues. Guessing that mating it to a Samsung soundbar would cure it, but shouldn’t have to do this.

Apart from my issue, the TV is great for anyone wanting a decent picture and happy to use the inbuilt speakers (or a Samsung soundbar).

1st one I purchased had to be returned, froze every time I tried to set it up. Spent 3 hrs doing a soft reset. Finally gave up & tried to perform a complete reset, gues what? It froze again. In the end it had to go even just for my sanity.

Samsung where great, picked it up within 2 days (it was a Saturday) then took 8 days to be received by the warehouse, then another 5 days to get a replacement sorted. Delivered again within 4 days. Put the 2nd tv on the wall ready to set up, guess what? It froze again, seemed to be when setting up netflix( don’t know why) had to perform a factory reset.

Deleted samsung tv, didn’t set up netflix. Seemed to work. Finally to the plunge, set up netflix. All good so far. Have 5 other Samsung tvs, never had a problem. Why this one? Is it a 2021 issue,.

This is the best TV I have ever owned. 1. The most amazing feature is what Samsung calls “Object Tracking Sound” -you can actually sense the sound coming out of mouths of people{or objects) as they move around screen.

2. The other notable feature (especially after 20+ years with other brands) is how well Samsung TV adjusts to light conditions. TV is in a room facing north with windows on 3 sides (so gets sun from dawn to sunset); but no longer have to close blinds or change where we sit (or move TV) depending on where sun is, because TV automatically adjusts and is more than a match for Australian sun.

3. Little things do matter. It was nice to receive Samsung TV app which provides more channels. Unexpected, but fun to explore and anyway, its free. Also, TV is supported on a central pillar, therefore it is far easier for one person to move than a TV with legs on each side.

A great TV. 10 out of 10 for picture quality. I would highly recommend. Value for money.

I have long wanted a Sony OLED after reading reviews and seeing the screens in comparison with other UHD screens. The clarity of the screen is excellent. It was also very easy to go through the set up functions.

This TV comes with the sound emanating from the actual screen and not via built in speakers. The sound quality is excellent. Needless to say, since you don’t have a remote subwoofer you won’t have the resounding bass and big theater booming bass affects.

But overall the sound and picture from this TV are impressive. The added buying aspect was I happened to go into Best Buy following a lunch with my buddies and this TV was discounted $700 which made it the same price and the LG 65 inch OLED.

This was NOT an open box price but a sales price on a brand new Sony. Even my friends were shocked at the discounted price. I did check the Best Buy price with the price of the same TV on Amazon. This Best Buy deal was even hundreds of dollars less that what this same unit was selling for on Amazon.

I am the type of person who feels more comfortable going into a store to view, hear, or touch high priced items. I regularly go into Best Buy to look at what is available and to examine items I am interested in.

This is one of those times my walking into Best was more than advantageous.

I remember the days when a 32″ TV was considered large! Now they are hard to find. Wanted something for my desk and this fit the bill. Very satisfied with this TV. The color is great but I find the sound quality to be lacking.

It is difficult to hear without turning up the volume a great deal but that maybe just me. I notice other reviewers did not comment on this point. It keeps the internet connection perfectly, The TV easily fit the stand I purchased for it.

The price is a little high but seems worth it. Other TVs such as the Vizio also offer the 32″ but it is not 4K. Overall, I think it is worthy the money.

My “normal” TV was destroyed by a power outage, so got this one–complicated set up–I was able to do most of it, but the power outage damaged the cable box so Comcast finished the set up, and made it user friendly for me.

I dislike the useless remote–too many buttons to push to get where you want to go. Descriptions, during set up, were vague–I endured volume at 20% for hours before finally figuring out to push the button up, vs push like a traditional button.

The whole set up made me set up a Samsung account, which I didn’t want. I just want to watch TV–it is taking a bit to get used to the picture as I feel like I am sitting on a chair watching a live presentation–color was adjusted properly from the start.

Not sure I would ever buy again–just too many bells and whistles for my needs.

Wow, this Samsung 32” 4K UHD TV is fantastic! We were told and read reviews that said 32” TVs were being discontinued because people ‘don’t want small TVs and manufacturers were not interested in building 32” TVs with new technology’.

This is not true and Samsung proves it with this 4K UHD TV. The picture is extremely sharp, even 3 dimensional. We have Dish Hopper HD signal, fiber optic WiFi and optical connector to a Bose sound bar.

This TV was designed for this type of connection and It’s performance is outstanding. The remote control is brilliantly small with individual buttons for Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Netflix. The connection to these subscriptions works instantly.

The built in 20 watt speakers are twice as large as other 10 watt 32” tv speakers, but the additional sound bar really enhances this TV. We’ve had this TV 2 weeks and we’re still amazed. We returned our brand new 2018 model, $200 32” Samsung TV because of an electrical issue and replaced it with this QN32Q50R model.

It’s definitely worth the extra $300. Set up is brilliantly easy. You’ll be amazed! We have no regrets and anxiously await watching this tv. Thank you, Samsung! I had to call Samsung tech support and they responded immediately by phone with an instant technical correction.

I had been waiting to replace an aging Plasma TV in my media room, because I want the maximum contrast for a movie theater like experience. That’s an experience you just can’t get out of a non-OLED TV.

First impression of opening the box, wow this TV is thin. Typical of OLEDs, but when you put it next to another TV, it really becomes obvious. Setup was simple, the stand was easy enough to attach, the wizard simple to go through and configure for my preferences.

I was very impressed it was able to detect and control my 10 year old surround sound blue-ray system from another brand. This has become my go to TV for other things, beyond movies, such as TV shows that leverage a lot of contrast, like the new Star Wars series.

My biggest gripe is that this screen is pretty glossy and reflections are visible if I don’t have the lights off. This is not an issue for me, but I could never see putting this set in my family room which is surrounded on 3 sides by windows.

Picking the right TV technology for the job you’re expecting out of it is critical. OLED for motion & contrast, LED for brightness.

Got this just over a month ago and more or less I’ve been happy with the display of it, but it has some issues I’ve noticed. The GUI gets rather laggy after using it for a little bit. Example, streaming a show -> changes volume and it goes up or down by more than the pressed amount.

It will also make shows buffer from said action when it’s laggy. It also lags when you disconnect a wifi connection then try to put in the password to connect again. It tries to search for a connection with the spinning animation which is the cause of the lag.

When it displays the no connection message on a still screen, it’s fine. So if this can be changed to display just the no connection/still image, it would solve this part entirely. I also wish it had a dedicated “restart the wifi connection” switch or function in the network menu so I didn’t have to put in the password every time I want to restart it.

It sometimes connect to the wrong AP on our system and takes me a few tries sometimes to get the right one. You can’t remove or disable nor clear cache of any apps while it’s on. The closest thing is turning off the television set, holding the power button for 10 or so seconds and plugging back in.

It needs a dedicated clear cache for certain apps, like hulu for example. I’m not sure if it’s just mine that has a problem but my television set seems to struggle with the 5Ghz wifi band and it’s only this television that has any issues.

Other devices in the house does not buffer as badly as this does on 5Ghz. The 2. 4Ghz seems to be better, I haven’t noticed a tremendous amount of buffering like it does on the 5Ghz. Network is functioning as intended, so I can almost say it’s the wifi module on mine or it just doesn’t like the router it attaches to.

The voice function of the remote is pretty bad honestly. It doesn’t clearly pick up what I ask to search for and it mistook a search for a word that wasn’t even close to what was asked. I’m very unlikely to use the voice function going forward after the experience with this.

The chrome cast portion works when I want to use it, but I really wish I could disable it until I want to use it. Having it always on is rather annoying and would probably free up some performance for other features if it were off.

I also don’t like that you don’t need a password or any sort of security feature other than being on the same network to cast to it. I would want a passcode or word protected feature added so that I don’t have people who may be on the network decide to by accident or purposely mess with me by casting stuff to it WITHOUT my permission.

I should have full restrictive access to it as I please, not just allowing anyone on the network to show whatever they please at any time they want. I do like that this has bluetooth capability and allows you to connect said devices so you can listen in peace or private as you please.

All televisions should have this feature at a minimum, so I’m glad this is included with this. At the end I would still recommend this tv, it’s still pretty good for a decently priced smart tv of this size.

It’s also very possible that some of these issues aren’t present in other sets others own.

Bought this TV to replace an older Vizio that was dying. This TV has a good picture. But I found it still needed some adjusting to get it the way I liked. I found there are enough picture adjustments to where you should be able to get it the way you like.

Now it’s one bad feature is it has poor audio. The speakers are not very good. Even if you adjust the bass and treble it doesn’t help much, especially the bass as once you get to like 9 (out of 12) it only helps a little and at this level it starts to distort on some channels.

What is aggravating about the TV is that the cabinet is deep enough for better speakers to be used but they went cheap. What’s frustrating is that you can buy a pair of Creative Pebble (original model) computer speakers for only like $20 a pair that have real good sound or the Amazon Basic speakers (that I bought) for the same price with good sound but not as good as the Creative’s, to help get better sound.

So why can’t Vizio buy just the same speaker used in these for this TV as the cost increase would be hardly noticeable but the sound would be so much better! What makes this even more annoying is the fact that even if you buy external speakers or a computer soundbar the bass and treble controls DO NOT come through the 3.

5mm stereo or the Toslink audio output jacks! Stupid! The only thing they did smart is to give you the ability to turn the power off to the USB port, that can power the external speakers, when you turn the TV off.

Another thing I don’t care for is that there is no Ethernet jack. I would rather have and use Ethernet for the internet connection as my router is fairly close than the Wi-Fi connection which is a 802.

11n as my router is 11ac. Now it does have a bunch of apps installed so streaming something from you favorite app should be easy. I haven’t used them yet so I can’t comment on using them. Should you buy this TV, yes as it has a nice picture and it not very expensive.

Just make sure you buy some external speakers for it.

We bought this TV in a pinch because our old set would not turn on. We needed a set that would fit our smallish TV stand in the living room. This set is actually 8” bigger screen size than our last TV and still fit the stand.

I also wanted a Smart TV that would be compatible with Apple HomeKit. We purchased the TV, brought the set home and unboxed it. When we tried to secure the legs with the screws that were provided, they would not screw in all the way.

Three of us tried to screw the legs in but it became clear after about 20 minutes of trying, that the screws were not going to work. They were either too long or the holes were not drilled deep enough.

Fortunately, I had the idea to remove the legs off of the old TV and try those, and they fit like a glove. The other oddity is that the Vizio screws fit into the old TV. Weird… Set up was relatively simple (other than screwing in the legs) but it took several attempts to get the TV to recognize my home WiFi network.

After scrolling though the various settings I wanted to add the TV as an accessory to my Apple HomeKit HomePod Mini hub. It seemed to connect OK, but I couldn’t get Siri to function. Airplay was working fine and so was Screen Mirroring.

I didn’t want to fool around with it anymore, so I was going to try to troubleshoot at a later date. The next morning, I tried one more time and Siri worked for turning the TV off and on, however, the AI would not control the volume.

After a week of functioning, the TV quit responding to HomeKit completely and I will need to troubleshoot it now for that. The pros include, very nice picture, easy to navigate settings, surprisingly good sound with built in speakers, the Vizio App Store app works very well on my iPhone and iPad, and a very affordable price.

The cons include, having the wrong screws included for the legs and the flakiness with HomeKit. I am fully aware that the HomeKit issues could be any number of things and not necessarily a problem with the TV set or the software.

All in all, I am quite pleased to this point.
