20 Best Twin Fin Surfboard (2022 Updated)

This thing is awesome. Bought it for my teenager who religiously watches Raw Beefs, J. O. B, and all Catch Surf videos on YouTube. This board opened up a new fun side to surfing and allows him to not take surfing too seriously.

Now it is the board he would prefer to ride most days. And going finless is his next dragon to slay. Keep the boards coming, keep the videos coming – the stoke is growing! Also, delivery was lightning fast.

I live in Pensacola, FL on the gulf coast. This is my first Catch Surf brand board and I am absolutely stoked after having taken this board out for a few sessions. First off, the shipping was fast and was packaged well with no damage on arrival.

Also, just from looking at it out of the box, you can tell that CS makes QUALITY shred sleds (and the stickers are rad, too). When I took it out the first day, I got the feel by riding some ridiculously fun boog rides.

Then the next session, I was already popping up on shorebreak waves and having a blast going down the line. This board is now always with me when I hit the beach and it is my go-to when conditions are not perfect or when I am just out to have a fun time on the water.

Best board purchase I have made so far since I have started surfing and I will be buying another board from CS in the very near future.

Great board and quality. My friend lended me his and i can boog it, skim it, and surf it. Very true to the title and looks amazing like all JOB boards. Definitely purchase this and I will be purchasing as well.

I’m having fun switching between these and my FCS Reactor neo glass fins at different breaks. I use these with a 6’0 31L performance shortboard in mostly waist to head high points and punchy beach break.

I found these work best in the longer points to help draw out my carves a little more whereas the reactors are working better in the punchy beach break for quicker reaction. Both are great options.

I chose these fins because they usually go together with the Softech fish I bought. They flexy at the top with a firm base and the FCS II system makes it super easy to take them in and out. I hit the beach a few times and took a few good tumbles with them but they stay firmly put and can handle a rough beach break.

They come in medium size, perfect for my 75 kilos, and they give the board a feel inbetween steady and skatey; they provide enough hold but also let you push your turn a bit. I used them in Dutch surf, in rough conditions.

I really like the material, the sturdy flex and the FCS II system; I keep checking to see if I’ve lost a fin but this really doesn’t seem an issue with these fins. Once they’re in, they’re stuck. They provide the hold I need during surfing but I can tell that a stronger, thinner hard-plastic fin would give me slightly more speed down the line.

The skatey feel is nice, unless the wave becomes very big or very choppy, in which case you get the feeling that you’re sliding around a bit once you stand up. All in all fine fins for most conditions, they’re especially good as a combination with groveller boards or foamies as they can take a punch.

If you’re looking for really high performance, these softies aren’t for you however.

Same as with my Pivot Fin; A very well made fin. Unfortunately I could not ride with it by now, but I’m sure it will work as promised. In addition, I never had problems with the FCS II Longboard click fins.

In my standard US fin boxes, they work perfectly and are easily to adjust. Depending on the design and size they ride significanty different, you definitely should have more than one. :).

Awesome board, super versatile. Very floaty and catches waves well. Definitely have recommended to a number of friends!

This thing is some serious fun. I’m not a good enough surfer to get upright on this thing, but that didn’t stop me and my kids from paddling into beach breaks For close a good chunk of the day … fits in the board bag with my long board, so it’s not gonna be missing and trips.

I’ve been surfing for 40 years. Grew up in the power era of Dane Kealoha, Tom Carrol and the master: Tom Curren. I currently ride for a shop, CB surf shop in Carolina Beach, NC (I’m the old guy on the team), a Catch Surf dealer, but I promise you this review will not be biased.

I started being intrigued by shorter and soft boards when I saw Curren standing up on a body board and riding skim boards. That piqued my interest because of what Curren has done for the sport with board design, and due to my fascination with shorter craft.

I was riding a 5’9 hpsb prior to getting my 54 special. I’m 6ft, 155 lbs btw. Following up on my interest, I started watching Blair Conklin killing it on the 54, both in everyday surf, as well as macking Mexican shore break stuff.

Those videos prompted me to pull the trigger and get a 54 Special. My idea being that I would explore this side of surfing and if I didn’t like the board, I would stick in the used rack at the shop and sell it.

Boy was I surprised. First session was in chest to head (east coast) solid, punchy wind swell. Board caught waves easier then my short board. First wave was different due to the short rail line. Once I got used to that, however, a whole new realm of surfing was discovered.

I compare it to the first time I got barreled. Turns were tighter, airs were landed, 360s were spun with ease and roundhouses were placed in soft knee high shoulders that normally wouldn’t grant the space and power to perform one.

The best part is that pulling into seeming closeouts and sometimes making it, was amazing. The fear of being smacked by the board inside a shallow chest to head high shore break style barrel (if you have surfed on the east coast of the USA you understand.

) Is gone, and as a result, the inner limits of pure fun opened up! I am now going places on the wave I had never been to. This is the only board I surf. I’m taking it to Mexico soon and know it’ll be the only board I ride there.

I truly believe this is the future of surfing. Go ahead and laugh, then report back in 5 years. I am thankful this product was created and look fwd to a long time riding my 54. Thank you Tom Morey for creating this type of watercraft so long ago.

And thank you Catch Surf of expanding it into something exponentially greater.

Mostly a longborder who has transitioned to short boarding past few years. Wanted to get into the under 6ft board world. This board was perfect transition, so sick and so fun. Volume makes it easy to paddle and get into waves early and then keeps up speed down the line.

Reference: I’m 6’ 180lbs. Ordering on website was easy and got to me (FL) in 5 days! Only 20” wide so maybe not best for absolute adult beginners (skipper is probably better shape for that) but I’m sure would be good for kid level.

I have been surfing for decades, and have always loved a good foamie. Me being 6’2, I wanted a small, speedy board I could rip on, but also fit my body size. I think this is the perfect board for little groms just learning to surf.

It has great float to it, paddles nice, and rips! I surf all wave sizes, and this is always in my quiver no matter where I go. I recommend purchasing the stump, or another size catch surf foam board.

You won’t regret it, and they are fun no matter the age or skill level.

I was originally just looking for the cheapest fins I could stick in my used boards when I went to sell them. But these fins work great! They are very springy, light and flexible. A lot of fin manufacturers talk flex, but I’ve never felt it.

In this case, they add a level of flow that I haven’t experienced before. And, for the price, they can’t be beat. I wish I could get other templates in this same material.

I haven’t gotten them wet yet, but when I opened the package, I was very impressed by what I got. They were well worth it for the price. A beautiful, blue color. The picture doesn’t do them justice. Will be recommending to all my Lake Erie surfers!.

My surfing is mostly based around rocky points breaks. These fins handle the knocks better than most and the biggest ‘plus’ is the price. The only fins that match these have expensive carbon fibre components.

Highly recommended.

They work well, plenty of drive , pivot easily giving a positive feel under foot . A more performance feel than a traditional keel.

Works great as twin set up on my Firewire seaside – liked better using this set up on really small surf compared to quad set. Excellent keel set!!!

Futures always had the best! Never disappointed when I rock their sets. Couldn’t be happier with my choice and with Evo, for always making sure when I shop there they have only the best shred equipment.

Didn’t work well at all on my Jim Banks twinny. It used to have the K1 keel fins in until I lost one. Someone recommended these as a more shredable fin. Unfortunately for my board these fins made a nasty humming noise and I could actually feel the drag and resistance through a bottom turn and I just spun out unexpectedly with any real rail commitment.

They also just simply don’t look right on a retro twinny.

After slicing myself pretty badly on a set of Captain Fin twins, I got these for those bigger days. The shape and profile is very similar. They are not heavy.

I’m 6’1″ and fluctuate between 204 and 212 and not a lot of body fat, meaning I don’t float easily. This thing floats me for a bodyboard. I have been able to actually get up on my knees also. I’m nowhere good enough to surf it, but it’s fun to try.

I’d be hesitant to skim it also, but it allows me to ride surf break in a way my other bodyboards can’t because of the volume, and I have big guy boards. I can even use it in small waves. It actually even turns well.

For the price and something to have in the truck that is vesatile, it is worth it. This allows me to also keep up in froth better with my girfriend who is 5’7″ and 125 lbs. No more having to get off the board as soon because of worrying about bottoming out in the sand.

Can’t speak to durability yet. Graphics seem to get “sandblasted” , but no worse than other boards. I could have used more conservative graphics than Kalani Robb, but for the price.

Bought this board for my 11yr old son for his first board. Took it out for Memorial Day Weekend and could not get him off of it! Such a rad little board. I would definitely recommend anyone to buy this product!! super durable!!! Anthony, Orlando Fl.

Small and foamy, excited to get this in the water. Fins go in easy, great looking board.

I bought this board to pair it with my Heritage Noserider as a summertime quiver in San Diego. My first session was in steep head/overhead clean conditions and I was shocked by how much fun I had! It held well when you *needed * to beat sections yet it was loose and “skatey” when *waned*.

The amount of control and easy of paddle and wave catching gave me the confidence I was looking for on the road to progression. I do want to mention that the Heritage Collection favors experienced intermediate+ surfers.

I wouldn’t recommend this board to a beginner – nor should any beginner be riding anything less than 7 ft. Unique characteristics for the Heritage Collection include: (1) Honeycomb fins are included and fit extremely tight in the fin boxes (2) Fin boxes are different and more sturdy (3) The “textured decking” holds wax and feels very good.

It also seems to be very durable as I don’t have any pressure indentation after heavy riding. Overall, I highly recommend this board to anyone experienced looking for a performance soft top. The classic fish shape paired with the honeycomb keels sets the bar for a quality high performance soft top! -Aloha.

Who would’ve thought a foam fish would be so much fun! Because I don’t worry about dinging or lawn darting this thing into the sand I’ve taken steeper and more “unmakeable” sections with this than I ever would with my regular fish and having a blast! With the extra float it also seems to glide into waves a little bit better than my regular fish too! Super fast shipping to SoCal!.

First shortboard, progressed down from an 8′ to a 7′ down to a 6 ft 4, then finally on this board. Been surfing for about 4 years, wanted to get this board for the last 3 years. So glad I finally did.

Catching waves with this board feels like I’m progressing as a surfer every time I take it out. only ridden it in 2′ jersey summer slop and the boards rips, stoked for the falls swells to come.

This is such an amazing board, I’m not sure where to start. I went with the 5’8, 38L and I am 175lbs, 6’2. I went with FCS Carver quad fin setup and the speed is insane. The board has a ton of surface area everywhere, especially in the nose.

It’s like a longboard nose, on a groveler. Barely any rocker, you can catch knee high waves and better easily, but then you can pump and generate speed effortlessly on it and make sections that a lot of other boards couldn’t.

I’ve ridden this up to chest high and it was awesome, at which point anything bigger really calls for a different board. But, I think 80% of the time, the waves here in NH aren’t that great, so this board becomes the go-to option for anything ankle high-waist high! Turns really nicely and loose w/ the quad fins.

Also I love the crazy psychedelic artwork, very unique board. Will always have this in my quiver.

Overall I think this was a great purchase. This is my second Lib Tech board and I can say that I am happy with little exception. My one concern was that this board came with several cosmetic blemishes which according to the lib tech website would make it a b grade however I paid full price.

Also, the center fin box was extremely tight and I had to file it down slightly to get my fins to properly fit in to the box. Overall I have been happy with my previous Lib Tech purchase so I believe that this one will also stand the test of time.

Not only do these boards perform well but they are extremely durable. I have a puddlefish by libtech that has gone into the rocks several times at Leo Carrillo with little to no damage. Lib Tech makes a great product and the fact that they are making them here in the USA I like the fact that I’m helping support local people.

Board goes great in small summer conditions. It catches every little bit of swell and makes it easier to enjoy sloppy OB conditions. Would absolutely recommend to anyone that needs something to supplement their thruster set-up.

Only note, would run as a quad, much faster and more responsive.

It’s a great looking board, love the art work on the bottom. I used to have one of these back when I was a grom, wanted to relive my glory days I guess. I am 6’1 200 lbs, pretty muscular so this board is just to small for me unfortunately.

Channeled my inner JOB and got some fun transfer off a longboard though. In summary, it’s really fun to ride finless and with the twin fin set up if you have the right wave and you are the right height and weight.

If you are on the bigger size, I would avoid it and get a different Catch Surf with a few more liters.

My 5 year old son loves this board! He’s the talk of the Jersey Shore when he rides it! It’s so cool that I even steal it from him to ride too! Lol! Great product, awesome company! Hang loose dudes!

Board looks great and rides great. Delivered in perfect condition. Easy to assemble the fins. My son has been able to even start using it to learn to surf.

I’ve surfed the heck out of my plank and I love it. I’ve surfed it 3x a week for the last 2 years and have to say it’s pretty decent as a foamy goes. That being said it is not indestructible. The clear plastic liner in the bottom side delamed, and the boog shell has separated over time.

There is not really a good way to fix the delamination. The separation is fixed with gorilla glue but it’s pretty ugly. Also the fin box could be sealed better as after 2 years it has some play and water penetrates it around the edges.

Fun: 5 stars. Durability: 1 star. Average stars 3.

Picked up the job 7 foot log yesterday from the laguna store. Came with fins and some wax. Took it out today in bolsa 2 footers with mild texture faces quick close outs and had a blast. I have been riding an 8’ wavestorm for about a year and just wanted to try something different.

I really don’t like the idea of dinging a 1200 glass board. Just wanted something I could beat up, throw my my beach cruiser. Toss into the sand and not really worry about. So. a foot shorter and a little less volume than the wavestorm.

– I was very surprised how much more maneuverable this board is vs the wavestorm. Was small enough I was able to pump a couple waves to extend my rides yet big enough to make catching waves a breeze.

Super happy with the purchase.

I am fairly new to surfing. I have a 10 ft. hardboard that I love, but that was only “working” for me on certain days. I wanted something with a bit more volume and something I could use on different days(and not afraid of dinging it up).

In Los Angeles, I surf between 1-3 ft waves. I took the plank out to El Porto and I had a blast! Even the belly rides are fun! I love the single fin(so glad that I can change that up and try different fin lengths), I love how well it floats me (5ft 10, 195lb) and I love that the board stands out in the water–Electric Lemon! This is a well-made fun board and I look forward to using it a lot in different conditions.

I am so glad that I went with this board! This is my 2nd Catch Surf Board. The first one I bought was for my teenager and she loves hers as well(8ft log).

Board has been great so far, transport was the hardest part. But made it work. For someone like me that only gets the surf the summer when going on vacation along with the smaller softer waves in Dubai.

It was a great pick up and easy to transport. It even helps on the overly crowded waves here since I worry less about bumping into someone which always happens.

Got this as my first board. I’m 5’7 athletic build female. Just started to learn and this thing moves! I surf out of New Smyrna beach, this is great for small waves. Picks up everything and very stable! I would totally recommend this for beginners, I’m glad I invested in this.
