20 Best Two Piece Toilet (2022 Updated)

The toilet was too tall for us. I feel the return fee of $90 is too high. I read on the website about the “convenient” return, but didn’t look close enough to see the cost of the return. I should not have taken a chance on this purchase.

I purchased two of the Convenient Height 20′ – inch toilets and I am very satisfied with my new thrones. I definitely feel I am the King of my Castle:)

This is a hard -to-find height. This was needed for an individual with limited hip mobility. The 21 inch total height allows for easier access.

I’ve always wanted a Toto but didn’t know which model to pick without breaking the bank. I ended up with the Drake CST776 and have nothing but praise for this beauty. It’s sleek, simple and affordable.

The Tornado flush system is awesome; I can’t believe how efficient it is when removing soil. The Drake was extremely easy to install too (I DIY’ed it). I’ve paired the toilet with the Toto S300e washlet from my previous fixture.

Everything is working great!.

After months of deliberation, I finally decided to go with Toto Drake from plumbing online. The customer service was so amazing & helpful and answered every question of mine in Detail & gave me recommendations as per my requirements.

I love my toilet except it’s a tad bit higher than what I am used to. Everything flushes down smooth, which I was a bit concerned about before the purchase. The purchase and delivery was very swift. I got my toilet in 4 days.

I will buy from plumbingonline again & I recommend them to others. Thank you.

Toilet works well and looks fine, no leaks. Just takes a gentle swipe with a brush occasionally or an extra flush to clear smears. A little noisy on filling, bubbles come out while the tank fills also a bit of a “gulp” as the waste goes down.

I like the standard height better than the universal. Delivery was fairly fast and smooth but did require a phone enquiry to get things moving.

A very good looking product. Have in mind it is lower and smaller than an average toilet. Also, the water flow is definitely more restricted so 2 flushes are necessary sometimes.

We havent fitted this toilet yet because our project hasnt begun but I do like the design of this toilet. It looks modern and sleek and appears to be a good match to the bidet we purchased too.

The product itself is excellent. I had a cheap toilet before which was constantly getting clogged. This one has a powerful flush and is the perfect height. I bought the toilet from Kohler directly because I thought it would be cheaper than buying it from a home improvement store.

When the toilet arrived, it was broken. Surprisingly, the Kohler customer support team made it very easy to re-order. They were efficient, fast, and very polite. However, when the replacement toilet arrived, a part of it was broken.

Since it was a clip to hold the toilet seat in place and was one of two of the same parts, I didn’t send the product back. I thought I’d just go to the hardware store and pick up a replacement. I haven’t done so, so I’m not totally satisfied.

Bottom line: Kohler makes excellent products and their customer support is wonderful, but shipping ceramic is dangerous no matter how great the company is.

I received the Kingston™ two-piece round-front 1. 28 gpf toilet with left-hand trip lever free in exchange for my honest review. This unit was shipped to me in two separate boxes, one for the bowl and the tank in the other.

It’s a beautiful soft white, not real bright as my old one was This included the water lines, hardware for the bowl installation on the floor along with the tank parts for the handle installation and tank gasket and bolts.

Before removing my old toilet and installing the bowl of the new one, we measured the distance from the bolts to the wall, making sure they matched. It was a standard 12″ which the new unit was also.

After removing and cleaning the area this toilet was to be placed original, we installed a new flange gasket on the floor along with a new wax ring which are not included in this unit. (Note – use a rag to plug the hole in the floor to avoid toxic vapors and loss of parts during installation.

) The new bolts to hold the toilet in place were placed in the flange and the bowl was set down on top of them. A bit of maneuvering to need to line up the holes of the tank. Some muscle was needed to press the Kingston bowl down on the wax ring to avoid any leakage after installation.

The bolts lined up easily with the bowl and after tightening them down, we trimmed them so that the plastic caps which hide them and that came with the toilet, would stay in place. This unit comes with a gasket for easy access to cleaning which must be put in place on the rear of the bowl before the tank is set down.

The instructions were very easy to follow and the tank was installed and bolted into place. Being there were 3 bolts, it was a bit tricky to tighten the tank to the bowl due to limited space between the wall and the bolts.

Make sure you have the right size adjustable wrench to do the job. Next we replaced the new water lines that were included. Please make sure that the length of the water lines reach from the water inlet to the back of the toilet tank.

After installing the water line, the linkage for the handle was put on. The water was turned on and the tank, which only requires a bit more than a gallon, filled quickly and quietly. The water cleaned the bowl all around with great pressure in a single flush.

The new toilet seat (not included) was put on and it fit perfect. Make sure you purchase the correct size seat. This toilet required a round seat, not the elongated one that others use. Over the next few days, we checked for any leaks from all the connections – water lines, tank connections and the bowl on the floor.

Everything was perfect. This is a beautiful unit. Well made and the curve of the tank looks beautiful, not square like the traditional models. Thank you Kohler for this beautiful addition to my bathroom.

I am glad I replaced my toilet with this Kingston elongated toilet. The toilet is very sleek and modern looking. This toilet replaced my guest bathroom toilet as that one was very small. The toilet was a round one and not roomy at all.

This toilet on the other hand is! It’s very roomy and my husband loves that about it! It’s elongated so you have more space to sit, which let’s be honest, toilets seem to be getting smaller and smaller so this kohler kingston toilet changes the game! I know there are other elongated ones out there but they look someone bulky.

I felt like the kohler Kingston toilet was not as big yet offers you the space. The white finish is nice, it’s very clean. I appreciated how little water you use when you flush. It’s only 1. 2 gallons of water approximately when you flush.

Water conservation is very important to me as I am a person who cares for the environment and this toilet gives me a nice sense of relief as it used less water than the previous toilet I owned. The lever to flush is on the left side, I personally like that because I feel like all toilets should have the lever on the left side.

The only con I have about this toilet is that it didn’t come with the seat. Not sure if that’s how all toilets come now a days but it was a little inconvenience having to go to lowes to pick up a seat.

That’s the only con I have about the toilet. Other than that it does its job! It flushes great and is very roomy! It’s a great toilet!.

I received this via fedex ground in 2 boxes with a total weight of about 125 pounds. Both were extremely well packaged and damage free. Replaced the toilet in my upstairs bath. Word of advice is get help to move as it is very heavy and bulky.

I went through directions and checked contents. I was surprised to see that there was no wax ring included. Make sure you are aware. of this before beginning installation. The existing installation is in an alcove which made this toilet a tougher install than i was expecting.

After placing wax ring and adding painters tap on floor and toilet to aid in lining up on flange bolts i placed the bowl. It took a while to figure out how to get nuts and washers installed. The holes in side of tank didnt allow my hands to reach the bolts and i finally ended up laying on the floor and reaching thru the back of the toilet to get them installed.

Tank and supply install was okay,no real problems. Unit is beautifully made and instructions are very good. Seat is a slow self closing unit and has a unique install method ,at least to me, using expanding rubber plugs.

Now for most important part of review,wife loves it !!! Its very modern in appearance and porcelain is beautiful. Just remember it is heavier than you thought and check instructions before starting.

Very discrete, strong toilet. The back doesn’t allow for any kind of wiggle room with your plumbing, just make sure that you do what I did not do- really dig into the specs on the toilet to make sure that your CW valve is in the right spot.

I had to get mine moved. I also had to get a power supply put in for my bidet attachment. Worth it all though. It is amazing. I may end up getting this same toilet for another bathroom with no bidet attachment.

I’ll need to see if the plumbing will accommodate it though.

We bought this toilet to accommodate a Toto Washlet seat. The specifications given are accurate and from this I thought it would fit in our bathroom, which is plumbed with a drain that is 11. 5 inches on center instead of 12 inches on center which is a common standard.

The toilet fits perfectly, and even accommodates a water line that was plumbed a little too close to the toilet fixture (I measured all that out carefully too). Flushing action is not particularly vigorous but it certainly does the job, especially if you hold the handle down longer, which brings more water at more force.

Our plumber was able to move and install by himself even though it is a one piece toilet. One thing I really like about Toto toilets is this kind of slick porcelain that is truly easy to clean. Combined with the Washlet which is self cleaning, maintaining the toilet is just a breeze.

My wife loves this toilet. I am not quite as enamored. It is a very good toilet that is set up to work with and hide the connections to the Washlet top. It works well as a toilet, flushing things down the way they should.

The Washlet portion sprays ones bottom either in back or front, blow dries afterward and it does what it’s supposed to. As a typical American guy, I’m still not used to that functionality. My wife loves it.

The toilet also pre-sprays the toilet to keep it clean which is a feature that’s been reported as annoying in reviews of the Washlet when it is sold separately. And I agree. Every time you walk by the toilet, it sprays the bowl and a few minutes later does a cleaning function.

If you don’t have a wife, this can be turned off. Otherwise, there’s a little spraying and mechanical noises if you come near it. It’s not quite as annoying as the next model up which automatically raises the lid every time you walk by.

Works well and what we needed for our basement unit.

Toto was a name that had always signified quality in the past. I ordered this same toilet last year and was very happy with it, so for our latest bathroom remodel I ordered another. This time, I discovered there was no glazing on the back of the tank or the tank lid.

I contacted the mfg who said, no, they no longer glaze the back since it doesn’t show, however, he couldn’t tell me when they changed that. I told him I purchased the same model last year and that was not the case.

I also explained that the lower height models that I was replacing were all glazed. This might seem minor, but as I am paying for a better quality toilet, I feel this just cheapened it.

I didn’t think it was possible to love a toilet, but I love this unit. The design and the execution are great. It cleans so easily when I need to with just regular dish soap, no harsh chemicals required.

It gets rid of the stains on its own with its turbo flush, which is a pretty cool design. It is at a comfortable height and even has a 10′ rough in model, which we needed for one of our bathrooms. It is great, I have no complains!.

Overall love this toilet. Only downfall is the water-saving shape of the bowl leaves a lot of exposed porcelain. As my 12-year old said, “you need to learn how to aim”, but even so the solid waste will frequently leave “skid marks”, which are easily wiped away with a brush and water, thanks to the special glaze.

The “light flush” is usually enough even for heavy jobs. A lesser downfall is that all the exposed area also leads to excessive splashing as the stream hits the bowl. Again, aim for the water and it’s not so bad.

It’s like a quick and pleasant waterfall that just swishes it away with 0. 8 gallons every time. There is an area where urine splashes will accumulate but took 4 months to notice and finally clean the thing with water (toilet bowl cleaner harms the finish, just soap and water).

I never thought I’d be writing a review for a toilet, but this is truly one exceptional product! After much research, we bought this in early 2015 to replace an older Kohler toilet in a master bath remodel and have been extremely pleased with this purchase! What an drastic difference this toilet was from the Kohler which easily clogged and the tank never filled right making the water run constantly.

Although the Toto uses very little water per flush, the ‘tornado flush technology’ lives up to its name! We’ve had it almost 2 years now and it has NOT clogged yet, even though it’s been put to the test many times ;).

I also love that it’s a very small, compact toilet, yet still extremely powerful to get the job done. The slightly higher ‘comfort height’ along w/the compatible slow-close lid make it very comfortable to use.

It was also very easy for my husband to install. We just remodeled another bathroom a couple months ago and we didn’t hesitate to buy the same Toto toilet again for that project. It might cost a little more than the ones found at the warehouse stores, but you definitely get what you pay for here.

If you’re looking for a water-efficient, compact, powerful toilet, put this Toto toilet on the top of your list!.

I’m a 5’11 male – bought this Toto Drake 2 a few few ago for my family master bathroom. Well after a deep research on different brands and different systems I choose Toto Drake 2 1. 28 GPF. my two three priorities were : 1) comfortable seating, enough space while seated.

2) Clean Flush on first attempt without wasting a lot of water. 3) Clean, simple look. Well it met all my requirements!!, and it has a clean look after each use. I replaced my old broken round toilet myself with a very little help from another person.

Why only 4 Starts ? 1) with too many Toto models and systems I wish Toto has a chart for customers to see a detailed comparison of all the models. There are very less stores near by which stores Toto.

I wasted a lot of hours to compare cyclone, double cyclone, tornado drake, SanaGloss, GPF — a lot of unfamiliar terms. 2) This item does not come with the Toilet Seat (spent $40** + more for that) 3) Does not come with Wax Ring, and I had to make two trips to Home Depot to get the correct type of Wax Ring.

4) Instructions are not very helpful. Thanks for many helpful other Youtube videos :).

What a toilet. First off if you’re reading this you’re probably a convert already to a “quality over quantity” lifestyle. If thats the case you already know why you’re even considering a Toto over some Kohler or American Standard product.

This toilet is very well made, the fit and finish is fantastic. The feel of sitting on a comfort height is also fantastic. Now of course if you’re into “quality over quantity” you may already know about the squatting movement when it comes to #2.

There are many “health nuts” out there that say our natural instinct is to squat when in the woods. Well that may or may not be true, but I can tell you its very nice to “sit” on the bog for a little while and not have my feet go numb from lack of circulation.

The Sanagloss finish is also fantastic, we gave away all of our toilet cleaner and just bought some new, cheap brushes. Our toilet cleaning regimen is as follows: 1) Use the handsoap bottle to drop ONE drop of soap into toilet.

2) Swish around with generic cheap toilet brush washing inside and all around the “pee drip zone” with brush. 3) Wipe toilet with a paper towel or two. 4) Flush the soap down and perfectly clean toilet.

Inside and out.

Excellent advanced and modern design and engineering. This bowl always flushes with jet-like power, completely clearing the bowl for liquid or solid flushing. This feature keeps it cleaner, longer, while using as little water as possible.

No clogs experienced yet! We may need to retire the plunger!! It is easy to install with the companion H2Option dual-flush tank.

In brief: get these toilets, you won’t regret it. I bought two of these H2Option dual flush toilets to replace two older Kohler San Miguel 3. 5gpf toilets, and it’s like a night and day difference. I’ve also had experience with Water Ridge (Costco, Item # 533515) and Toto Aquia dual flushes, and the H2Option beats all of them handily.

First and foremost, the H2Option has solid flushing performance in both 0. 92gpf and 1. 28gpf modes – in fact, the 0. 92gpf mode often works as well as the 1. 28gpf for clearing solids and is the mode I almost exclusively use.

Not so with the Water Ridge or Aquia models – the 1. 6gpf mode is mandatory for solids. As for the Kohler model – it’s almost guaranteed that a 2nd flush will be required for solids. Secondly, the H2Option has yet to experience a clog while flushing solids.

The Aquia matches the H2Option in that respect, but the Water Ridge clogged about 1/20 times, and the Kohler at least 1/10. Thirdly, the water spot is decently sized on the H2Option and solids flush clean.

The Water Ridge matches the H2Option in this respect, but the Aquia’s water spot is small and the sides of the bowl can be prone to staining – water spots on water-efficient toilets can sometimes be smaller in an effort to save on water.

The inefficient Kohler has a huge water spot but is surprisingly also prone to staining despite all the water – the washdown just isn’t powerful enough. Fourth: the H2Option is fairly easy to clean, on par with the Water Ridge and maybe a little easier than the Aquia.

The Kohler is a mess, with under-rim crevices that are hard to scrub and clean. Fifth: in terms of looks, the H2Option has a classic look on par with the Water Ridge. The Toto Aquia is probably more modern.

The Kohler, being an 80’s model, is dated. Lastly of course, the H2Option is the most water efficient toilet compared to all other models I’m comparing with here. In summary: solid looks, easy cleaning, and a well-proportioned water spot coupled with best in class flushing performance and water efficiency make for an outstanding toilet – one that’s been improved since its first 1.

1gpf/1. 6gpf iteration. Note that these observations are based on my family (wife, toddler, and myself) use of the toilets for over 2 months now – we’ve had experience with Water Ridge, Toto and Kohler toilets in various other homes for 2, 5, and 1 years respectively.

The initial install was straightforward. The biggest problem was trying to setup the flushing options. The manual was very confusing. Referring to areas to adjust not coinciding to the pictures in the manual.

Other problem is the access to the adjusting part is almost impossible to move because of the limited access. This model offered to many unnecessary options to adjust. EX: Flush valve settings: #1. Heavy flush float #2.

Heavy flush door #3. Light flush float #4. Refill float cup #5. Refill door. #5. Major water adjustment. #6. Minor water adjustment.

I requested the contractor rebuild the house using the American Standard Champion two piece toilets because I was impressed with the advertising about flushing golf balls, which seemed good for handling other substances as well.

It does have great flushing and bowl cleaning action, however, I’ve come to find that the flush valves in both will leak out the water in the tank slowly, and sometimes find it unable to flush because the fill valve doesn’t activate when the water drops so slowly.

If it’s used frequently, it won’t be noticed, but if it’s left unused for a longer period, that’s when it will leak out and be emptied. That’s the reason I looked to find out why it was happening, and by keeping the fill valve off, saw the water in the tank will drain out on its own over a period of days.

It’s not a significant leak, and water use isn’t that much of a concern because of the way the utility in Long Island charges almost a flat rate whether or not you conserve. It’s just annoying when the fill valve hangs up and leaves the tank empty, and I end up having to leave the lid open to manually push the fill float down to fill it back up before flushing.

I suspect it has to do with the larger surface area of the flush valve being unable to seal as well as the standard types of fill valves. Unfortunately it may not be able to be converted to a better sealing valve, so I’m just working around it be leaving the lid off so I can check the water level before trying to flush.

I needed a toilet with good flushing capability using 1. 6 gallons of water, a surface that was easy to keep clean, and that fit in a small space. These things were clearly described in this toilets specs.

Since installation, I now know that this toilet does not have any force our swirling effect when flushed. Barely any water goes down with no force -You have to flush it 2 or 3 times to remove solid material- which wastes water.

If you hold the handle down for at least 10 seconds it provides a little more water- but who wants to do that every time they flush. So much for the 1. 6 gallon flush. It is more like 1/4 of a gallon.

As for “everclean” surface – it is not. Material sticks to the bowl and it takes really hard scrubbing with a toilet brush to get it off. I am so disappointed that I spent $300 and got a new toilet that is this horrible.

I am now convinced all of the reviews of this toilet are fake. If I could return this toilet, I would. But I have already spent an additional $375 for professional installation. DON’T BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ ABOUT THIS TOILET – it isn’t true.

Bought and had a plumber install 2 of these toilets to replace some 1980s beasts. The first thing I noticed was the Flush was a bit weak if you didn’t flush it just right. That wasn’t the biggest deal once you get used to it.

The second thing I noticed is that the Porcelain feels weak compared to our 1980s Toilets. I feel like it is going to crack over time (which I have seen in other reviews is happening). this is making me very paranoid, that while we are way we could have a water issue due to a crack failure.

The third thing that has recently come about is the gasket already needs to be replaced and we are only a year in. In researching this I see there are some lawsuits against American Standard for just this issue.

It may be a minor thing to replace once or twice a year, but I bought this toilet to use less water. and that defeats the purpose. We still have a 1980s American Standard in one of our Bathrooms and even though it is a 3 gallon or so flush, I am keeping it.

That thing is solid and the flapper doesn’t leak. American Standard needs to do some redesigning and get some better quality controls in place.

I bought this toilet and installed it myself almost a year ago when my old waterhog toilet cracked and had to be replaced. I was very nervous about getting a 1. 28 gpf toilet (so many just do not work well), but it flushes great, and has never clogged.

The flush washes down all sides of the bowl and is very efficient. The ADA high 19″ bowl is just what we needed. I am 6’2″ tall with long legs and live with a family member who just had both hips replaced.

This added height makes a world of difference and is very comfortable. I bought this toilet directly from the Kohler distributer in my town who had one on display in their showroom. The tank was a little tricky to install and level up but after watching the videos online posted by Kohler, I figured it out.

I used a wax free floor gasket which works just fine. The gloss finish on the toilet is flawless. The only thing I am not too fond of is the smaller waterspot in the bowl, but I guess that is unavoidable with having such a tall toilet bowl.

I am now thinking of upgrading the other toilet in the house (which is a Comfort Height toilet, but not tall enough) to a Kohler Highline Tall. If you are looking for a tall ADA/Handicapped toilet that you would normally in a commercial establishment, this is it!.

This turned out to be a two-day job as I could not install the tank onto the bowl because the diameter and length of the plastic threaded tank extension was too long and too big to nest into the recess of the bowl – the conical seal would not go into the bowl recess.

I ended up having to cut the extension down to the surface of the plastic nut while it was still attached – quite a challenge. No problems with the bowl attachment to the floor, however I don’t understand why the new power flush doesn’t work the way the old style flapper valves worked.

You have to hold the flush handle down to get the full flow of the water in the tank. If this is intended to be a two-way flush technique there should have been some instructions – release handle for No 1 flush and hold handle for a No 2 flush.

Normally I am a big fan of the Kohler toilets, but this 19″ tall model needs some love and attention.

We recently moved and have purchased these toilets again for our new home. This tall toilet is among “the best” items I have ever purchased! A “must have” for tall people, older people or those that have weakened or painful lower bodies.

This truly decreases the struggle and discomfort some of us have getting on and off the toilet. Whether it be aging, a bad back, weaker legs, joint pain, or just being tall …. this toilet will certainly make life easier and a bit more comfortable.

It’s funny to hear my guests exclaim how much they “love my toilet” after leaving my bathroom! * note you do not have to be tall to use this. My elderly mothers is 5’3” and loves it too!.

The old man is actually happy. We got this toilet to replace an old classic toilet from the late 60s. Instead of another rebuild of the antique. We took the risk and went new tech. This is an upgrade in every aspect.

No more double flushing. Even though it uses much less water. It’s more comfortable to use with the elongated bowl. Easier to clean and stays cleaner. No more seasonal nick nacks falling off the huge rounded tank.

No more noise from the leaking fill valve. The plunger found it’s way to the closet instead of needing to be next to the toilet. It has become one of the little things that makes life just a little better.

It really is worth the money to replace old toilets.

The toilet came in two boxes, well packed and actually pretty hard to get it out. Love the bright white color, modern look, and smaller tank (than previous toilet) makes the bathroom look newly remodelled and more spacious, when in fact I only changed the toilet.

Installation was easy and the flush is amazing. Initially it sounded louder but it’s because the previous toilet was older and flush was weaker. Despite the smaller tank, it flushes everything quickly and completely; hold the lever down a bit longer to make it really clean the bowl, which my teenage son likes, but I like the water saving feature instead, so I guess, it’s a win-win situation.

Bought this toilet 2 years ago and the flapper has been leaking for over a month. a lot. Tried 3 different replacement flappers and none fit. Searched the part number for the flapper in the tank and it doesn’t exist on the American Standard website.

Have been trying to get ahold of someone since before New Years, spent hours on hold over multiple calls and it has been a week since I submitted an online request for help with no response. Toilet is fine but the service is awful.

I got this toilet to replace a cheaper dual-flush toilet. Unfortunately more money does not mean better. I’ll begin with the major issues. This toilet grows mold faster than a Petri dish. Within just one day of cleaning there is a large build-up of mold under the rim.

When I clean it the toilet brush is covered in black mold. Another thing that is a problem is the toilet will rarely flush completely a second time after one flush. No, this is not due to any blockage.

It happens with only liquid waste and even when cleaning. I give the bowl a swipe with a brush, flush the toilet, and when I try to flush again (and yes, I wait for the tank to fill completely) it will not empty the bowl completely.

A minor issue related to that: I have to push down the button to flush and hold it until the toilet has completely flushed (when it does). It sounds very minor, but one should be able to push the button and release it right away and the toilet should flush.

I have adjusted the pistons on the buttons to make sure they extend fully, but it does not help. None of these issues should be present in a toilet that costs this much. The toilet it replaced had none of these issues and was half the price.

This toilet and the previous one were both installed professionally.

Bought this to replace a 35 year old toilet. Float and flapper appear more reliable than old style. This model has the largest diameter trap, so should be less prone to clogs like the golf ball ad indicates.

Two negatives are that it sometimes splashes outside the bowl when flushing. Also with just a quick flick of the handle, the flapper closes before emptying the tank. This could save some water for number one, but for number two we’ll need to remember to hold the handle down so the entire tank empties prior to the flap closing.

I could not feel the wax ring make contact and compress when I installed the bowl, so now wondering if it is sealed, though I won’t know right away since I unfortunately caulked around the base of the bowl right after install.

I should have waited on the caulking, but had just finished caulking the adjacent floor and wanted to caulk the bowl before any risk of the caulk setting up inside the tube.

We replaced three twenty-year-old toilets with three Toto Aquia IV Dual Flush Two-Piece toilets about 3-1/3 years ago. We’ve been delighted with all three. They’re not perfect, but in all the important ways, they’ve been excellent: They’re almost impossible to stop up, and we always get a complete flush, unlike the toilets these replaced.

The dual flush function is also flawless. We did have a problem with one of the three samples where the equivalent of the flapper valve would occasionally fail to seat, allowing the toilet to continue to run until we realized the water was still running.

Nevertheless, we fixed the issue by making a simple adjustment, thanks to Toto’s excellent tech support. We do have two minor complaints: 1) While the toilet seat is very comfortable and looks great, the underside of the seat is a challenge to keep clean because, rather than a typical one-piece design, the bottom is hollowed out and has four protruding supports used to stabilize the seat.

The way the seat is attached has also been a problem. Rather than using a standard bolt to connect the seat to the toilet, the seat relies on a rubber expansion fitting; this is necessary due to the toilet’s streamlined design.

However, we have found that this allows the seat to become misaligned over time, despite having retightened the screws that engage the rubber expansion fittings. 2) The finish of the bowl’s surface is somewhat prone to not releasing matter, despite the toilet’s vigorous flush.

A quick swish of a toilet brush solves the problem, but I would have preferred a finer surface treatment. Overall, the Aquia IV Dual Flush Two-Piece toilet is a beautiful and well-performing toilet that we would purchase again.

We highly recommend it.

This Toto toilet is expensive at almost $800 but the toilet seat that came with it. is squeaky, poor quality, and “cheap”. When I sit on the toilet seat. it squeaks and creaks! I weigh 120 lbs, so the issues isn’t my weight.

The seat feels unstable and hollow. If the toilet were of sub quality, I’d expect the same of the seat. But this Toto is high end. PLEASE replace this sub quality seat with one that’s solid and stable, of comparable quality to the toilet.

I read someone else’s review with the very same complaint but obviously customer service/manufacturing didn’t take note as nothing has been done about upgrading the toilet seat that comes with this Toto toilet.

Also, 4 Kohler toilets were installed in guest bathrooms and this one Toto in our master bathroom. The installer said the Kohler installations were a breeze. The base was solid, flat and immovable. He said that the TOTO had a very archaic design to it, requiring him to drill holes into our newly tiled floor to install it.

and it still required a shim to keep it from rocking with instability. We bought the Toto for our master as an upgrade to the Tornado Flush, skirted and one piece design instead of the two piece, skirted Kohler we used for guest bathrooms.

The Toto flush is good but the seat and installation are sorely in need of improvement/upgrading. and brings the quality of toilet down overall. My husband said because of this experience, he would buy a Kohler hands down over a Toto.

and would never buy a Toto again. Toto, please rectify this poor quality issue with your seat and awkward archaic installation design. Does Toto have an alternate option for a quality solid toilet seat for this model that doesn’t creak and squeak?.

The toilet itself seems great so far. We have had it installed for about one week, and its operation has been very smooth and quiet. I notice that less debris is stuck on the toilet bowl walls after flushing, probably because of the cyclone flushing action.

A plumber installed it for us, to replace an older one-piece Toto toilet. He didn’t complain about difficulty and it seemed straightforward for him. The one disappointment is that the included seat is incredibly creaky and loud.

It even creaks when my 50 lb. daughter uses it. Us parents in the house are average sized people, and it is even worse for us. It definitely feels like a downgrade from our previous model Toto soft-closing seat.

The plastic feels decidedly cheaper than the old one that was in use about 20 years. We wouldn’t try to return an already installed toilet, and the seat is the only problem for us so far. So it just feels disappointing that quality didn’t match the price on this one plastic part.

I plan to try spraying some lubricant on the hinges of the seat, to see if it will make a difference. I will update the review if it helps.

Our home is 25 years old. Our toilets are original builder grade. One finally broke so we decided to replace them all. TX mandates 1. 28gpf now, which didn’t give us much hope because we had issues with clogging with our original 2+gpf toilet that is furthest from the septic tank.

Have not had any clog with the Memoirs even though we are using 1/2 the water than the previous toilet. The bowl is so well designed. It is broad and fills full with water. It slopes down to center, so all waste drops down right into the center outspout.

The flush is fast and quiet. It pushes out the waste without it swirling around in the bowl. The bowl stays clean forever. We were concerned about the comfort height, but again it is a vast improvement over what we had previous.

Not only is the Memoirs a quality functioning toilet, but it is also a really pretty toilet. It looks high quality. We get compliments on them. The plumber who installed them does a lot of work at the local 50+ neighborhood where he has installed many of the popular Cimarron model.

He had never installed the Memoirs before. He said it was as simple to install as the Cimarron. It took him 45 minutes to remove the old toilet, unbox the new one, install it, make minor adjustments, and clean it so it was ready for our first use.

One of the 3 toilet bowls was cracked when he opened the box, so he had to go get a new one. He came back the following week to install that last toilet and told me that he likes the Memoirs so much he replaced all the toilets in his house with it.

The toilets are so pretty, a major upgrade, which inspired us to update the rest of our bathrooms. We had the plumber back to replace the shower and sink faucets. We replaced the towel bars, toilet paper holder, towels and rugs and viola! It’s like new!.

Form or function? I love the look of this toilet, however the tank filling is very noisy. It makes a dribbling drippy sound in addition to the regular filling type of sound. It even drips once the filling is done for a couple of seconds.

Our other Kohler toilet with the same flushing technology, the aqua piston, does not make this sound. The reputable professional plumber that installed it as part of our bath remodel ordered and installed another tank for it.

Unfortunately it makes the same type of noise only a little bit worse! The first tank lid also had a defective bump on the porcelain right above the flush handle where you see it a lot. I give this two stars only because the toilet itself looks very nice and I do like everything else about it, but I just cannot stand the sound.

No toilet should sound like this.

Great looking toilet – has a grown-up/sophisticated look. I like the hidden trap too. Only negative (since I have had the same model in another bathroom for two years) is flushing. I don’t thikn it has ever clogged, but if paper dropped at the front of the seat/top of the bowl – it won’t get flushed on the first try.

There’s just enough water to carry it into the main water pool but only after the main pool has been flushed. Not a big deal unless you’re super-sensitive about having an empty bowl after each flush.

We built a new house and this bidet seat is one of my favorite things. Highly recommend. The Legato toilet is flawless but having a bidet seat is really great. Wish I would have bought one years ago.

OMG, this is one of our best purchases ever! It’s great to feel fresh and clean after each use. An electrician added an outlet near the plumbing, and a professional plumber installed our system to be sure everything was hooked up properly.

It’s nice to have memory settings for 2 users, but anyone can use the features by making individual selections. It’s a bit pricy, but something all women should own for personal hygiene.

We are getting ready to install our 2nd Gleam. Not two, but replacing the first one that was installed. The wax ring that comes with the Gleam is grossly inefficient, so I had to pull the toilet and use a jumbo ring due to sewer gas smells.

While the 2nd wax ring helped, it did not eliminate the sewer gas smells completely. I contacted Kohler and told them repeatedly that there were no sewer gas smells with the previous toilet and that I had to change the wax ring because it was grossly insufficient.

Their “Support” and I use that term loosely was constantly asking questions indicating that they had not even read what I submitted. I eventually got someone U. S. based and they agreed to send a new toilet.

The fact that they sent a new toilet tells me that Kohler realizes that the design of this toilet is absolute junk. So, I will have the replacement toilet installed just to see if it eliminates the sewer gas smell or not.

If not, this one will be going to the dump and I will never purchase a Kohler item again. The other problem that other reviews on other sites have mentioned is the toilet seat. The bolts gave out within a few months at the most and had to be replaced.

They were completely rusted even though we do a good job of running our exhaust fan and do not live in a particularly humid environment. Overall, even though I will be having the replacement installed, I cannot recommend this Kohler toilet.

Nor, would I recommend any other Kohler product at this time.

I bought this today from THD to replace my 20yr old toilet. It took about 2. 5 hours to remove the old toilet, and install this one, by myself (clean up and caulking still pending). I could not lift it into the SUV myself (since I was installing this myself, I wanted to make sure I could move it so I did not ask for help), but when I broke down the parts, I could manage to get them upstairs (55 yr old woman).

The way it secures to the floor is cool. Install was pretty straight forward, and the skirt will make for easier cleaning that that old indented p-trap that I never could get clean. It was hard to tell what I needed to buy, but here is the list: a new hose (just cause I wanted to), new floor bolts, a wax ring.

That’s it (I did not replace the closet flange, but would have needed one if I did ). Everything else is included. I was having a hard time tightening the tank to the base (this too is a neat system as it doesn’t have holes in the tank like my old one did.

I used my old fly nuts, and would recommend those over the included nuts. There is a great video to watch on installation. Look for that.

I bought three of these toilets. The were relatively easy to install in the same house. They worked well for the first year or so. It was advertised on the box no clog toilet. With three children in the house I went with this product line.

I have replaced the valves in these toilets once each toilet. Now I am about to do it a second time. The flapper valve is also aged and is leaking water at night and the toilet automatically refills waking me up.

I live in a area where the water is hard. The black plastic/rubber cushings in the tank are disintegrating. My daughter jokingly pushed me while sitting on the toilet seat cover replacing the valve assembly and the toilet seat crack.

A new one cost me $75CA, plus the valve, flapper, and new inlet hose. I’m going to return all of it and order a new toilet. The only reason I’m sticking with this brand is the sales representatives Keisha for Kohler responded to customer critiques.

Only because of this will I purchase my fourth Kohler toilet.

I have installed 4 off these over the last 3 years at my home. Very easy to install, includes everything needed. On one I had to have a longer water supply line because off the shut off location. I did have a problem with water leaking after flushing due to a bad Flush Valve Seal.

The toilet just kept running. It was an easy fix ,took less than 10 min. It’s a rubber washer that seals the fill valve that was bad. I found a new one at a local hardware that fit perfect. It’s 3″ Diameter with a 2″ hole.

The one that failed was about 6 months old. None of the others have had any problems. The first one I installed over 3 years ago. I think they are a great value.

Bought two for two bathroom remodels. The contractors couldn’t believe how little i paid for such a great quality toilet. They said it was a really good deal for something that nice and that a similar equivalent at home depot or lowes was at least double that price.

Dual flush works great, the silent/ soft close lid is a great bonus, good size, and pretty nice looking for a toilet. All in all, I’d say it’s a really good purchase.

I rarely leave reviews, but after replacing and fixing approximately 20 toilets in my lifetime this thing deserves 10 Stars. Everything is in the box, it’s nearly 100% ready to go and any do it yourselfer is likely to succeed at the install of it.

It’s amazing quality especially for this price. I’ve put in 600$ toilets that were lower quality than this thing. Sam’s is the best and this is just one example of why we stick with Sam’s Club.
