20 Best Usb Charging Hub (2022 Updated)

Very pleased with the Anker 10 Port 60W Data Hub with 7 USB 3. 0 Ports and 3 PowerIQ Charging Ports for MacBook, Mac Pro/Mini, iMac, XPS, Surface Pro, iPhone 7, 6s Plus, iPad Air 2, Galaxy Series, Mobile HDD Purchased this as an upgrade from a reliable USB 2.

0 Hub from Plugable I’d used for a few years. The Anker USB 3. 0 Hub works as expected – backwards compatibility with legacy USB 2. 0 devices works reliably. I’m running a number of MIDI Controllers from Native Instruments – sometimes more than one at a time – which are USB 2.

0 along with an iLok USB 3. 0 dongle and the occasional USB 3. 0 HDD or SSD (typically older OWC On-The-Go models) off this hub. The hub itself run off a port on a CalDigit TS3Plus Dock although I did also test the Anker running directly off my late-2016 MacBook Pro prior to deciding to keep it.

I’m not a big fan of this trend towards horizontal hubs – they tend to tip over as soon as a cable is attached and are so light weighted it’s near impossible to to keep them in place when tilted over.

That said, I’ve a cable management tray now affixed to the back of my computer desk and the Anker, along with the included switching power supply, tuck away nicely freeing up my desktop real estate. I do wish there was an on/off power button on the Anker as on my old Plugable hub.

In these days of WFH I don’t necessarily need the hub and downstream peripherals powered on while working from my employer supplied laptop and not my personal laptop. I don’t necessarily need individual on/off switches per port either – as on other models, but I appreciate other users feel differently.

That said, having it powered on 24×7 does have its uses as I can power my aging iPad while simultaneously charging BlueTooth earbuds from the Anker. Do note this powered hub does address ‘Disk Not Ejected Properly’ on macOS when waking from sleep.

Never had the issue with the Plugable Hub – never understood why it worked on that particular mode as it is not uncommon – but opted not to keep a second Anker that was intended for use the MBP of my spouse to address that.

Only effective solution I’ve found is a proper Dock – like the CalDigit. Prior to purchasing the Anker I’d tried a comparable model form HooToo (Powered USB HUB, 9 Ports 60W Data Hubs with 7 USB 3. 0 Ports and 2 PowerIQ Chargiong Ports for MacBook,iPad,Surface Pro,iPhone,Flash Drive,Portable HDD and Laptop) which had all kinds of issues with backwards compatibility and was promptly returned.

Should have gone with the Anker to begin with. Now I know better.

Love this charger. So versatile and multi-functional. Love that it has it’s own cables and adapter connected – with all my other pocket chargers, I need to carry around a separate mini-cable. Also love the Direct plug-in – so useful to be able to re-charge by plugging directly into any outlet.

No need to carry around a separate adapter or charging cable. Also love that the cables and plug both collapse to fit inset into the charger body itself – keeping it compact and sleek, not bulky or difficult to carry in a pocket.

Also love the indicator lights – easily able to identify what the charging status is, and if it’s running low or not. Such an excellent device, have gotten many complements from others seeing it, and gotten additional ones to give them as gifts.

This model or the 6700 model will NOT charge an iPhone 11, or an iPhone 13. I purchased the 6700 model at Best Buy last Saturday after the salesperson said it would work, and then checked when I got home – The charger was about 75% full, but when I plugged it into my iPhone 11, it did not charge my phone at all.

I then tried it on my girlfriend’s iPhone 13, and got the same results. I took it back to Best Buy yesterday for a refund, and they said it must have been a faulty charger. They provided me with a refund, and I told them I wanted a replacement since it should have worked.

All they had in stock was the 10050mAh, so I bought it & they assured me it would charge both iPhones. I wanted to check it right then and there, but they would not allow me to open the package in the store without making the purchase.

I bought it, and checked when I got home…… and it did the exact same thing, it didn’t work on either phone. I’m being told by the Best Buy staff that it will work with any iPhone, but this is the 2nd model I’ve tried, and it will not charge either of my two iPhones.

I have owned multiple versions of this product over the years. The life of the product is horrendous for the mount paid. After years of head scratching over the short battery life I tried to exercise the warranty on a unit that is stamped 2/9/21.

I have owned it slightly longer than 1 year. Of course the 1 year warranty was rejected. $100. 00 plus dollars for a battery that barely lasts a year, find another product. In addition I submitted the claim, I received a response and then my email was ignored until I reached out again.

I bought this hub to pair with my Philips Brilliance 272p monitor which includes ethernet and 2 USB ports that are impossible to reach. Connecting a powered hub allows me to have useful, accessible ports on my desktop while maintaining a true single-cable USB-C connection to my laptop.

This hub has the advantage of ports on both sides, allowing the user to have front-accessible ports available to the user for quick connect and disconnect, and rear-facing ports that just stay out of the way for always-connected peripherals.

The external power supply ensures that your peripherals won’t draw too much power from the main USB-C connection, and the charging ports are sufficient to juice up an iPhone about as quickly as its own charger does.

Speed is good. even though my connection is hub-to-USB on the monitor which goes thru a single USB-C to the laptop (which is also running gigabit ethernet and a 4k monitor on the same cable), it takes about 4-5 seconds to write a 135-MB video to an IronKey secure drive, and a fraction of a second to copy the same file back to the desktop.

I’ve tested the hub on both Windows 10 (MS Surface Pro and Dell XPS13) and Linux Mint 19. 3 (XPS13). Plug-and-play in all cases. As long as this hub lasts, I have nothing negative to say. And I expect it to last.

it’s not the first Sabrent hub I’ve used, I have two of their smaller four-port hubs running 24/7 on a Raspberry Pi RAID-10 NAS.

I purchased the Sabrent 7-port USB hub about a year ago because I needed a USB hub and I liked the idea of charging my phone or tablet quickly while I’m using the computer – this feature is why I purchased this hub out of the many on Home Essentials Direct.

While the USB hub works as expected, the two “”fast charging”” ports do not come close to meeting my expectations – compared to the regular/data 3. 0 USB ports on the same hub, it only charges a whopping FOUR MINUTES faster.

I’ve determined this doesn’t charge quickly by timing how long it will take to charge my Samsung S7 from 0% to full. This Sabrent hub’s fast charging ports needed 2 hours 49 minutes to charge the S7 from 0%, compared to 2 hours 53 minutes from the data ports on the same hub.

Compare this to the Samsung 5v/2A charger that came with the phone, which will complete the task in 1 hour 45 minutes, or 2 hours 40 minutes on the 5v/1A charger that came with my Kindle Fire. I’ve tried this both with and without my usual USB devices plugged into the hub ports with no noticeable impact.

While it’s possible I received a faulty device, I’d expect to see more issues arise from whatever’s disabled or damaged the advertised quick charging feature. That, and I see a few other reviews complaining that this does not, in fact, charge devices any faster than regular USB 3.

This is not the first time I purchased a Sabrent Port. I purchased one, a 2. 0 USB unit, a little over five years ago and it performed flawlessly, so, when I upgrade/replaced my system, I purchased two of the new 3.

0 USB units to replace the Sabrent and another unit I purchased from another firm. Needless to say, the new units performed perfectly as soon as I plugged them in, I connected all of the equipment into the new units, one by one, and the new computer recognized each device as an old friend.

I had the entire system connected, up and running within three hours from the first stage to actual work. Sabrent has the best value in appearance, utility and reliability of any port I have owned. Some of the other brands had an operational life that could be measured in only a few hours.

A year later, I became disappointed in this product. I installed the 2 hubs into my new system being built and was plagued by peripheral devices dropping out. The mystery deepened until I went to the hub of one of the 2 I installed and found the C-type USB connector that connected the hub to the system was loose, causing the peripheral device dropout.

Did the circuit card inside break or is it a bad soldering joint? As there is no way to repair the hub, I had to purchase another and install it as a stop gap measure. While the hub worked great some of the time, it did cause a lot of heartburn due to the bad input jack.

Misleading title. This is actually a 10 port USB 3. 0 Hub as this is what the box and instruction leaflet says. Regardless, I needed this Hub to replace an overheating USB 2. 0 hub that I used for many years.

This unit feels rugged and the build quality is on point. I still have 4 more extra USB ports that I can use for future needs. I am also a fan of the hardware mounting system. I got this hub bolted to my desk and out of sight making it a clean installation.

Power and data cables in my setup was long enough to accommodate clean cable management. It is cool how there is also a power switch when you can turn the whole unit on or off without unplugging anything.

Overall, this is a very solid USB hub that will last me a long time. The USB hub recognized all my USB devices without issue. Highly recommend.

So if you’re looking for a USB hub I’m sure you’ve seen a bunch of them, some are pretty cheap even if they offer USB 3. 0 and quicksync for your new high power devices. If you read those reviews you probably saw some complaints and even pictures of melted devices, yikes! A cheap USB hub will always show its colors so if you like throwing away money and possibly damaging your expensive devices feel free to buy those, this isn’t even close to the most expensive on Home Essentials Direct but seems to be in a good range for quality.

I was going to buy the 7 port version but reviews had complaints but one reviewer went from the 7 to this 10 port version and found it to be the better of the two. So far I agree this seems to be the better product.

So far everything I’ve connected has worked no issue. I hope they might update this with at least one quicksync port on a future revamp and maybe some USB C plugs since future devices will prefer that type.

This powered USB 3. 0 hub ticks all the boxes. The beefy external power supply sources enough current that all ten ports can supply full power at all times. The other hubs listed here don’t do that. As advertised, it has BC 1.

2 on all ports, which means it can charge my iPad while I use it as a second screen for my PC; my previous hub could not do that. The upstream USB port is a solid USB 3 type B, not a micro-B, which is great because micro-B connectors tend to fall out.

The box is a sturdy piece of aluminum with rubber feet and the ports face up, so plugging and unplugging devices does not make the box slide around. My only gripe is about the blue indicator lights at each port; they face straight up and you have to look at them from above to see whether they’re lighted.

Otherwise, highly recommended.

Doesn’t even have enough juice to power an external USB drive, or tiny desktop speakers. It will read a phone. Short cable. Almost useless to me. But cheap!

Packaged well, arrived sooner than expected and performs perfectly. Looks to be well made and sturdy. Would buy again with confidence.

This is the only one I have found to handle high demand of both data and power. It has very good tight connections that won’t slip causing errors.

This was my first power bank so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it charges my phone faster than when I hook it up to my wall charger outlets. The product itself is really nice and the indicator lights are a nice hue of blue.

There’s 4 to show how much power there is left on the bank. 25/50/75/100% type stuff. It takes only a couple of hours to recharge the bank. Maybe 2-3 hours max? I travel around a bit so the weight of it doesn’t bother me much.

It’s like the weight of holding 2 iphones and a wallet, possibly. It scratches up pretty easy, but I was pretty rough with it. It personally doesn’t bother me, but keep that in mind if you like perfect objects.

That’s not the products fault, it’s more about how YOU take care of it. Again, since this was my first power bank, I shopped around to see which was the best for my uses. I was thinking of getting the Innogie Alien 10000, but this Anker PowerCore had more mAh for the same price so I went with this one instead.

The weight difference wasn’t that much either. From this one purchase, I instantly just fell in love with Anker so I definitely will shop from them again. And I did. I bought their 10ft PowerLine yesterday.

This is a very compact unit for the power it packs! It’s only slightly larger (wider) than a deck of playing cards, and is quite light considering it’s 13000mAh. The dual charging ports are great for multiple devices on the go.

Looks and feels like a well-made, quality product. Starts charging automatically when device is plugged in. Button on the side lights up the LEDs on the top to show remaining charge. Pros: * Well made * Relatively light * Excellent power capacity for size and weight * Two charging ports Cons: *None so far.

This charger is great. Purchased three of them for my girls for Christmas 2015. My husband was jealous and always sneaking there’s so had to buy him one too. Has not let us down yet. Charges a smart phone several times before needing recharge.

I have been a long time fan of Native Union products and this product is no exception. The adapter is the ideal travelling companion, it is slim line and really compact. In addition to its size it has a rubberised high quality feel about it which makes it look and feel great, it is easy to grip when removing it from a socket.

quite a bit smaller than expected — this is good! i use it to charge my ipad on the go. it can charge pretty fast even while i’m using it, and i haven’t run into problems with heat.

We have 2 IPhones and 2 Apple watches to charge every evening on our small end table. Cords were everywhere and many times fell off the table onto the floor when stretching to a nearby wall outlet. I plugged this charger linto our wall outlet and it sits hidden under our end table.

It really helps keep the cords hidden totally behind the end table. It does have a very bright blue light on all the time but with the charger completely hidden under the end table , all I see is a glow.

This works well and has the multiport design I needed that sits on a table or bed and not in the wall itself which is what I needed. It does have fast charge ports but not the super rapid charge ports.

It was all i cd find semi comparable to the one i have that is a rapid charge. It works well and has a bright blue light that indicates its working. Pleased with the purchase and the price and fast shipping.

Perfect 4 port fast charger for home or travel. We are always needing more than two ports when traveling for electronics that we take without having to carry so many cords and plug in units. Plus, it seems to quick charge!.

I usually charge my Apple Watch, phone, and kindle all on my bedside table and I’m constantly switching plugs in the nearby outlet. I got command strips to attach this to the back of my night stand so I can charge everything at once in one convenient place.

The charger works well and I no longer have a mess! I was a little worried it would be too heavy for the command strips but it’s not budging. Perfect for what I needed! Also, as another reviewer stated, this is not a power bank (and doesn’t claim to be).

It needs to be plugged in to work.

It’s a great multiport USB charger. Just don’t use it to power any audio amplifiers or Bluetooth equipment as you’ll get a clicking sound that is not acceptable. Otherwise, this unit does provide 1 AMP and 2 AMP ports for charging phones, tablets, and other compatible electronics.

The charger works fine however a little over a month of using it one of the ports is missing the white piece in it and it no longer works. Not sure where the white piece went or how it came out. The other 3 ports are currently working fine.

I have taken it on trips twice and was able to leave charging blocks for devices at home. Ports are well marked for phone and tablet ports. May buy move to leave at kids homes.

Love the design. This product charges my cell phones super quick! In about an hour they are fully charged. FYI The first 2 charging connections are the fastest charging ports. The others are regular charging.

Bought and returned! Had to send back my iaf pro 2020, 1st time it froze while in charger, hard reset worked, next night black screen and nothing worked to fix it, my iPhone also crashed, but fixed after hard reset, but now every charger is having problems since I used to his item.

Nvr had problems prior to using this. I don’t recommend anybody risk getting this.

I’ve had this for a couple years now and i love this thing. Even charges my Macbook Air fast as heck with the USB-C Port. Then leaves 4 other slots for phone, ipad, watch, whatever!

I find this hub to be quite useful because I can space out three Bluetooth dongles on the front without having them right next to each other and then I still have 4 USB ports available for flash drives or other devices.

In addition, I can charge my devices such as my Logitech headset, AirPods Pro and iPhone 8 on the side without having my iPhone sync to my PC every time I plug it in to charge it. Plus, it looks really nice on my desk, but it does collect dust like any other black shiny object.

Very small footprint. Highly flexible as it can be buss only powered (sans charging port function) and AC powered. That truly makes this a rare find. Use buss only when you’re on the road with laptop.

Add AC when at your home base. Note that the 7 USB3 ports are in addition to the charging ports. The charging ports are not data transfer ports but that means you’re not tying up any of the 7 ports while simply charging.

The standard ports will charge an iPhone. I use the charging port to supply the power needed to charge my iPad. The advantage of charging ports, in addition to supply enough power for an iPad charge, is that with AC powered they continue to charge even if the computer goes to sleep or is turned off.

Interesting is that this hub has a power button. On occasion, usually after the computer has been in sleep mode, I’ve noticed the devices aren’t found. It’s easy to spot as each port has an indicator light.

Taping the power button fixes that. That’s the only odd issue but it really doesn’t present any inconvenience to me.

I purchased this on a different site and I’m shocked at the good reviews. Pro: yes it will charge multiple devices. Con: it will fall over. It will be weighted with usb in it and it will fall over and off your desk or nightstand.

I don’t know why the manufacturer didn’t weight the base. I used a 3M sticky to adhere it to my nightstand. A dumb design.

I bought 4 of these charging stations to put in various places in my house to keep my iPhone and my Apple Watch chargers plugged into so I could quickly charge them and to have one to travel with. I am now down to 2 chargers because the have been randomly dieing.

I am now in search of more reliable charging stations because these are going in the trash!.

Better quality than I imagined, I love it. Its a reminder for me to put all my electronics on the charger before bed for the next day. So happy with this purchase.

After using one for years at the office, I bought another at home. I must love USB peripherals. I have so many. This is great because you have the two charging ports, plus the eight standard ports. I find I don’t need to add any other USB hubs.

I don’t get the “low power” warnings with this hub that I got with previous vendor products.

USB ports are metal framed. Could be a good thing you’d think but it makes sliding USB drives or cords into them very hard. Even harder to remove. Same deal with the SD card slot. Card goes it very rough.

I guess they did it for longer lasting ? Not sure if that make sense because other components will fail way before metal frame of the USB jack so i dont understand the reason for metal to be there other then making my life hard.

Having read reviews first, I already knew that the speed of the first USB device seen by the iMac’s port would determine the hub’s max speed for the session as USB 2. 0 or 3. 0. No issue with that. But it became intermittent to be recognized at all, then even to maintain its iMac recognition, then finally gave up the ghost entirely.

However, StarTech gave me fast outstanding real-human Customer Service phone support, which is worth a lot to me. Got several interactive, effective, troubleshooting ideas. (Any company can issue a defective product now and then.

) On the other hand, it did seem to run a little hotter than I expected, so there may be a vulnerability with its internal power conditioning design. just a guess. The upshot: I have high confidence in the brand, but not so sure about this particular model number.

I have had a few Hubs over the years and this seems that it will fit the bill. I did a stress test by connecting external hard drives (I have 5) along with USB 3. 0 flash drives (to occupy all 7 ports) and copying/files back-and-forth, etc.

My computer did not experience any slow downs or delayed inputs from my mouse or keyboards (something I experienced when using 2 or more external hard drives plugged directly into the USB ports on the back of my computer).

Time will tell how well this hub holds up respective to operation. I had a non-powered 4-port Anker USB hub that did not function so well after a few years of use (I only had a keyboard and mouse plugged in.

The sheath covering the connection cord begun to split). I do wish it had rubber feet on the bottom housing to protect the bottom of it and the surface it is placed on. I would recommend purchasing this hub if you need an external powered USB 3.
