20 Best Uses For Airtags (2022 Updated)

I got a pack of four airtags when they came out, but I was a bit skeptical that I’d actually use them. Let me tell you, these things are a LIFESAVER, especially if you travel or you’re a person with ADHD or memory troubles.

My work keys are irreplaceable due to the access card on it, losing them would get me in majorly hot water and make my job impossible til resolved. So, I put an airtag in a clip on, glow in the dark case on them.

If I can’t find my keys in my bag, I can use my phone to play a chime and find them. Great for peace of mind! I travel several times a year, and put an airtag in my carryon and my checked bag. I could make sure my bag was actually following me city to city and not left behind.

given how many bags are being lost right now due to staff shortages and flight cancellations, knowing that I could find my bag also gives me peace of mind. Lastly I leave one hidden in my car. It isn’t a gps tracker, but it can give me a location in case I forget which lot I parked in or god forbid, my car gets stolen.

The only issue is they’re pretty thick, so forget attaching them to anything flat like an iPad. Even the sticky silicone sleeves didn’t work well and would peel off after a couple months. (The normal “FindMy …” app doesn’t work if the iPad isn’t connected to a network or isn’t turned on, hence the airtag.

) I’m back buying an extra. I love that the batteries are replaceable too, it’s been over a year and one of them just alerted me it needed changing soon. I love this product.

I wanted so way to track my bags as we ventured again into the staggering airline and luggage handling systems. Everyone is short-staffed. Qantas is now recruiting baggage handlers from their corporate executives.

We heard one horror story after another about lost bags, bags that went on lovely vacations all over Europe and Asia while their owners looked for places to buy clean underwear. I bought this 4-pack with no experience in this device–based on reviews and advice from friends.

I have an iPhone and it was easy(ish) to set up. The first AirTag I set up would not pair, but that was my fault. I was not familiar with the app on my phone. Start that first so it’s ready to pair as soon as you pull out the plastic battery activation strip.

I had to figure out how to take out the battery (again, not simple, but I figured it out) to reset the tag. Once activated, the FindMy app on my phone notified me when I walked away from the bags. At first, it seemed like having a child calling out “Daddy! Don’t leave me here.

” But it was handy to see the bag begin its own tour of the baggage system. I could see it was not on the plane as I took my seat, but seconds later it reported to be “nearby. ” No, I did not put the tags on the outside of the bags so I didn’t need the rubber holder and D ring.

I tucked each one inside a zippered pocket–buried under my socks. It worked fine. I didn’t want them to snag on luggage handling equipment or be pulled off by angry baggage handlers. So what did I pay for? Peace of mind.

Now that I’m back I’m wondering if I should slip one into my wife’s purse. Seriously, she’s a senior (as am I) and it would be nice to know where she is when she’s out and away from the house. Incidentally, the tags are magnetic so you might be able to stick them on the refrigerator if you’re afraid of it walking away in the night.

My whole family has ADHD, myself included. We’re pretty much professionals at losing things. If losing things became an Olympic event, we would win the gold. My full time job is outsmarting myself into being a reasonably functional adult.

I have three AirTags so far, and I’m sure I’ll getting a four pack. I’ve used Tile Trackers, but I have found the AirTags to work more consistently. I like that you can track the tag down to an exact area with compatible phones.

(Accidentally left your keys under the covers? Not sure how it happened, but hey. There they are!) Our iPhone 12 Pro and 13 Mini are able to do it easily. My daughter’s 1st gen SE can’t, but the rest of the functions work.

The noise is loud enough that you can find whatever you’re pinging. I like that it sends me a message if/when I accidentally leave something behind. When I have my phone plugged into CarPlay, it pops across the screen.

The ONLY thing I don’t like is that you can’t ping your phone from it, like you can from a Tile. But as long as I know where my Apple Watch is, I can do it from there. We are slowly becoming Thing-Finding machines.

A few more trackers, and we’ll become an unstoppable force.

First of all, be advised that this is just a holder for the AirTag. It doesn’t include the AirTag itself. So it’s basically a very expensive key ring with a pouch to hold the AirTag. That said, it’s well made and actually holds the AirTag in place no matter how much the keys shift around in your pocket.

It’s easy to insert, yet it stays put once it’s in there. Whether it’s worth it is pretty much a personal decision. I liked it better than the plastic ones that knock-off companies make, and I can afford it; so I bought it, even though I think it’s overpriced.

If you’re short on coin, however, this isn’t something I suggest you spend your money on. There are cheap ones that probably work just as well. The purpose of attaching an AirTag to your key chain is so you can find your keys when you misplace them.

Just in case you didn’t know. Also, the AirTag is an Apple device. I don’t think it works with Android at all. So if you don’t have an Apple computer or mobile device, this is not something you need.

Yes it’s stylish and the metal ring is strong and well designed. However only time will tell if the leather casing, which snugly holds the rim of the air tag, eventually loosens and I woefully lose my air tag!! Already the tag has scuff marks from my keys due to the open face design.

The faux pas of design over function springs to mind! I personally would wish my AirTag to be functional and discreet. I would’ve thought for the price, that a free AirTag should have been included which would’ve made it value for money.

Truly have bought 10 of these for Self and Gifts, these are AMAZING! What a genius idea for those of us constantly misplacing something. Keys. Purse, Dog. Kid. Wallet. Husband. This works GREAT! Easy to hookup (must have apple phone or Ipad etc) wont work with anroid? VERY SPOT ON ACCURATE! Tells you where item is and how far away and beeps! Wisring was louder, I have hearing problems.

Definitely went beyond my expectations. I’ve used other types of trackers and not only were they unreliable but prevented me from actually finding my wallet or car keys whether I accidentally misplaced them or stolen.

Either those trackers only used bluetooth with a poor network of people not enabling lost mode features. I’ve had $1k+ stolen from me, including my laptop and other tech items, but more importantly my identity was fully compromised with my wallet.

Even though a tracker was in the wallet and attached to my items, they were unreliable since connection or transmission were too weak. This airtags have been an upgrade to me because they link directly to my icloud and the “Find My” app on my iphone and apple devices.

I especially love being able to find misplaced keys in the house with just a few steps because of the chip that allows for tracking in both the airtags and iphone. One complaint I have though is that the alert on the air tags need to be louder or more distinct instead of having sort of a surround sound pitch which makes it a little challenging to locate your air tag in a pile of laundry or in between the couch cushions.

I’m not one that usually loses or misplaces devices. But with the low life’s of this world these days. Looting and thieving just for the fun of it? Well this will track you item so you can retrieve it precisely as long as you get the AirTag.

Nice product at a great price point. Allows you to secure your Apple Tags to something. Love that it is a 4-pack since I bought Apple Tags in a 4-pack! And four different colors to keep me organized.

Air tag cases. Great cases for my Air tags. I needed something that was versatile so I wouldn’t lose them but I wanted them to be cute too. These fit that bill.

Wasn’t expecting how thick the backside dimension would be. While this is an improvement from other companies such as Belkin, it’s not as slim as expected. If you already have one like a Belkin, it’s not worth the cost of replacing.

But if you are looking for a new case, then I would go with this one over the others.

From the moment I opened the box, I fell in love with this useful and stylish key ring. While the design is simple, that is what appealed to me as the function (holding the Apple AirTag securely) is paramount to any other attribute.

The fact that it fulfills the functional requirement while also having an elegant design is icing on the cake. While I was concerned that the plastic/rubber material on the outside of the keyring might snag/drag on clothing (making it difficult to insert or take out of a pocket) it actually glides into my pocket without a problem.

The fact that it holds the AirTag without adding much additional bulk makes it ideal. I couldn’t be happier with the product.

Ladies and gentlemen, what it boils down to is this is simply a piece of plastic along with a metal key ring. There is absolutely nothing special about this other than that the hard plastic shell will keep your AirTag nice and protected from dings and scratches and allows you to place them on a lanyard or secure them to a keychain.

The main disclaimer is don’t pay the maximum price for these ever because again, it is just a piece of plastic with a metal ring Put them in your cart wait for them to go on sale and snap them up. Don’t ever pay full price for these from Apple.

Prior to this I was using a silicone generic AirTag purchased online. You would slip the AirTag in and out of the hole by stretching it. It worked fine but didn’t seem the most secure. This Belkin case and key ring seems much more secure.

The case is actually two pieces that separate and lock into place over the AirTag. You then secure both sides by slipping the key ring over the hole. This seems like a much more secure solution for my AirTag.

The only thing is it’s made of plastic. Time will tell how durable it is attached to my keys and rattling around in my pocket.

These are amazing! I can track my keys, my dog, my remote, bag, and everything else I want to track, just like my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro now! I LOVE THESE little things. I am definitely going to buy more of them and put them on all the things that I misplace, lose, and my valuables.

The ONLY thing that I would change about these is the fact that only one person can track them at a time. So if I lose my keys and iPhone, my wife cannot help me find the keys until I find my iPhone first.

Really cool product that hard to explain unless you’ve seen it used. Can track location of tag on phone and it gives you which direction and approximately how far it is. Does go “out of range” about 25 feet, but for tracking items like keys/remotes/bags this is perfect.

Ok I didn’t want to spend too much money on a keyring holder for the Airtag. Just wanted to hold the keyring, have a low profile and stand up to some abuse. So far, it’s been 6 months and keyring holder held up like a champ on my daily key set.

Silicone material repels a lot of elements that would probably deteriorate leather/plastic/latex, its thin and not very noticeable.

So when I bought my AirTag, the only holders they had available was the leather straps. They are overpriced, don’t last that long, and to be frankly honest a little bulky. I just happen to walking in my local Micro Center and picked up this gem.

With this, I can now shove my keys in my pocket and not feel uncomfortable.

Looks great and worked great at first. There’s no reinforcement around the loop that the chain goes through, so it began tearing after about four months for me.

BullStrap BullTag are the best. It’s the best AirTag cases on the market. The inner pocket design keeps the entire AirTag protected from scratches and drops. Using high grade leather along with stainless clip the look alone is demanding.

I would recommend this product to all.

The great quality of leather style is nice. AirTag is hidden and protected. The service was fast and got in like 3 business days. I also got a discount coupon from sweet coin witch pay to walk, run, etc.

Spent a ton of money on this $40 & the clip in the first 3 weeks is already chipping paint off. Not sure I would purchase again. Could have gotten something similar for $6 on Amazon if that’s the quality I wanted.

I thought this was a quality product but I guess not.

I just got this today and here are my first impressions:- This is the perfect size for a front pocket wallet. Some wallets have their pockets so small that it barely fits the credit cards, especially those titanium or metal cards ex: AMEX cards and Apple Cards.

– The slot for the AirTags feel sturdy and secure. Since most of the time you have cards in it, making it not flexible, I don’t see it popping out anytime. I also prefer having the white part of the AirTags exposed since I have engraving and it works well.

– In regards to the material, it’s not as good as quality leather like Horween Leather. I don’t see this as aging well over time, hence I gave it a 3 stars for durability. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who uses this hard, as the material might chip off or get damaged.

Overall, it’s still a good value for money especially with the current selection right now for wallets with built-in AirTag holders. There’s some wallets have decent leather used but they cost around 50 up and most of them are very bulky.

I’ve seen a lot made in the reviews about this being good for the first mover. This is more than that, this is a 9/10 wallet. For the price, this is probably one of the best wallets you can buy, and that’s not even considering the reason everyone come here: the AirTag compatibility.

It is a simple but elegant solution, having a sturdy metal clip and a leather ring around the AirTag – much similar to the Apple brand leather keychain AirTag holders. It works well, and the AirTag fits snugly against the leather.

It isn’t ultra-slim, but we all knew that could never happen with the thickness of AirTags. I will update this review with remarks about how the wallet holds up to daily activity, but it has been great for the first few days.

The airtag fits in the pocket perfectly! It will get scratched up over time by keys, but thats apples fault for making the airtag have a polished metal part when they knew it would be around/attached to keys.

I fit 7 cards and IDs in here no problem, although I think you could fit 10+ without much trouble may be tight at first but like all wallets will loosen, which was my main concern. Cant hold more than 15 or so bills because they have to be folded in half, but not a huge problem in the digital age.

Id recommend this to anyone who frequently loses their wallet in a heartbeat!.

With the air tags now available to everyone and with their great integration into FindMy from Apple, this is the way to track your items. But what about your wallet that does not have a coin compartment where you can put the bulky air tag in? Well Nomad has a solution.

The card holder for the airtag. And it is great! There is no other product out there that allows you to convert your airtag into a card and stick it in to your card wallet that just simply does not have a coin compartment.

This is great solution and I am very happy with it! The card arrived, airtag in and in to the wallet it went. Now I can easy find my wallet if I would misplace it.

I had a AirTag(AT) in a wallet pocket without the AT card. It poked out and made the wallet odd shaped. Kinda hurt my rear (pocket) when in the car. At first this AT card seemed too stiff. but it is fine and gives a nice form to the wallet.

I would like a few additional smaller holes in the card for other items – like my hearing aid batteries or something.

Airtags are the new hot thing this season, and the kids made sure they were on all their Christmas lists. And, as everyone who buys one of them knows: you cant just hand someone an Air Tag, much like you can’t just hand someone a scoop of ice cream, it has to have a protective cover.

I’m very glad that there are these patterned Air Tag cases to choose from instead of just boring basic solid colors. Just because I’m carrying around a piece of equipment, doesn’t mean it can’t look cute, right?.

The pattern on this air tag cover is adorable, and it works great! I love that it is easy to clean, and keeps my air tag secure so I know I won’t lose it. It has a ring that is easy to use so I can put it wherever I like with ease.

I have gotten lots of compliments on this. So far it has exceeded any expectations I had. Love it!.

4. 5/5 rounded to 5. Good stuff. Feels premium. Keeping an Airtag in my backpack has been scratching it up. This cover solves that for me. Of course, it protects everything but the front. However, my backpack has a loop at the top, underneath the zipper, so the ring here can clip on it, so less to no scratches.

It is a clip ring btw, not a split ring. This is the only problem I can see. From past experiences with lalanyards, clip rings usually don’t last very long as the head tend to end up misaligned. Hopefully, it staying in my backpack with less stress and interference would prevent this issue.

So do keep this in mind when making your purchase!.

I have several air tags all with some type of key chain and cover. This is the best. It fits easily over the tag, and completely covers one side. This protects from scratches and also reduces noise if it is placed next to metal or plastics.

In my case I am using as a key or car locator and there is no clicking against car components, or other keys. It seems durable too and the color and material look great. It is also tight and fairly thin so it doesn’t take up added space.

Fantastic key fob to hold an Apple Air Tag! My husband is constantly losing his keys. We used the WITHit cover to put an Air Tag on his keys and no more lost keys! Love that the Air Tag is secure in the holder, the holder stays with the key at all times, and no risk of the Air Tag falling off with an adhesive holder.

Would absolutely recommend for anyone who uses Air Tags. Worth every penny!.

I like that there is a carabiner clip and that the airtag is easy to put into the unit. However, I don’t know how much I trust the clip not to break (compared to a key ring or elastic band) I also prefer other designs that are two piece holders where you can not remove the airtag without taking apart the unit.

On this you slide the airtag into the opening as the silicon stretches. I don’t feel it as secure and trust it as much as I would a different one. If a cheap solution to keep an airtag in place is what you’re looking for this may work, if you want to trust it on the outside of a bag or attached to something where it will get moved around a lot you may want to get an alternative.

I tried other versions of this that were very subpar, having no ability to properly hold and secure my AirTags. However, these are very nicely made. First, the AirTags are very easy to insert, but once they are inserted, they feel snugly secure.

While these keyring holders are not bulky, they are thicker than the AirTags, which properly helps protect them if dropped and from day to day accidents. The keyring, itself, is well-made, sturdy, and very easy (yet not too easy) to snap on and off of keyring, backpacks, etc.

Overall, I am very happy with these. They are very affordable and very well-made.

I purchased an AirTag for my car keys. With a bit of research, I came across the Best Buy Insignia Brand. For almost half the price of Apple and other third party manufacturers, the Insignia key ring provides a secure and easy to attach case for the AirTag.

I have not had any concerns or noticed any loosening of the ring which holds the airtag. The keyring itself is easy to affix to any existing keyring as well. I have not tried removing the keyring and attaching the case to my existing keyring.

These are pretty cool. I put one on our car keys and both of our dogs. They work well to locate lost items and you can even correct the dogs barking with a little beeping. Not a recommended bark deterrent device though.

The holder itself is decent. Thought it’d look better but it’s nothing special. The ring itself broke within a week, so you’ll need to have a replacement ring ready

The Air Tag fits well in this case, and the color is great, though it is not the same blue as the blue used in the Apple 13 or in the Apple 13 silicone case. This case is easy to use.

This is my first Airtag. I keep sets of charging cables and they keep disappearing in my house, so I decided to try it on one, and consider purchasing more based on satisfaction. The tag works great and is very audible so when I hide that set from myself I can find it easily.

Only thing is, from the picture I thought the strap was a rubberized one you could bend or wrap into place: instead it looks like a round shoelace. It does the job just fine – it’s just not what I was expecting.

Not a big deal but I thought I would mention it.

Purchase these in the Apple store and they have arrived. Open the box and my first impression was pretty disappointed by the quality. The air tag holder is cheap and not at all what I expected. I can see them easily breaking in a high wear situation.

These likely be dangling off of something due to the design and banging on stuff constantly. They are going to break. A silicone holder would’ve been way better. I bought four and regret it. I’m sure there are better solutions on Amazon that can do the same thing much better and for a much more reasonable price.

If you’re reading this and considering buying them my recommendation is to pass. Or, buy one check it out before you commit to anymore.
