Let me start out by saying I’ve been doing my own gel manicures for about two years now. I’m a perfectionist and will only use products that are high quality and have staying power. This weekend I attempted my first manicure using full coverage tips.

I used the AIMEILI Base and Builder gel and I loved the results! The builder base was used as a “glue” to seal the tip to my nail under a UV lamp. Great quality and love that I don’t have to wipe the top coat.

The top and base coat bottles look identical to their gel polish color bottles except for the fact that the text on the bottle indicates which formula is which. Each bottle has a sticker on top of the cap that says “Base” and “No Wipe Top” so you can easily find them if you store your polishes inside a box.

I used a 1 minute cure time with a UV/LED lamp for each layer of base, color, and top coat that was applied. Thin coats are key in getting the polish to last, as is doing the proper prep work to your nails (buffing and cleaning the surface) prior to any application of the formula.

The base coat is slightly tacky after curing it, which helps to get the color coat to stick and not shrink. The top coat is a no wipe formula which leaves a smooth surface and a plump and glossy shine.

As for the durability, a manicure done with this base and top coat along with an Aimeili color gel lasts for 14 days with minimal wear to the tips and hardly a chip in sight. Individually, the base and top coat sell for $6.

99 each, but as a set, you will only pay $9. 99. This is insanely cheap as you get 10 mL of polish in each bottle. Other gel top and base coats easily cost more than double that price for even less polish inside, and the ones from Aimeili are of an equal quality to them, if not better.

This set is a no brainer if you deal with gels!.

The first impression is very good, very good, good presentation, this kind of watches is known to be very bulky but it is the first time elegance is greater, it is but that the duration is the same as the first impression.

Painted my nails last night using Gellen gel nail polish. I purchased these on amazon because they offer 16 different colors and the top coat and base coat. The colors are very pretty, but they’re not identified by color.

You have to look up each number to find out the color. I used stickers to cure a bit of the gel and then stuck them on to each bottle so I can tell which one is which. Loved the results! I bought this product off of Amazon and it didn’t stay on my nails longer than a few days. I tested it with both a UV nail lamp and a LED lamp. The LED lamp provided better results but I wasn’t too impressed with this polish.

The pastel colours also needed a lot of applications to appear opaque on my nails. Would I buy it again? Not likely.

Gellen gel nail polish leaves my nails looking just as good as when a pro does them. They last until I peel them off (2 weeks) and they’d last even longer if I didn’t peel it off! It’s a great quality polish and I’d recommend it to anyone that does their own nails 💅.

This was by far one of the best purchases I’ve made regarding nail products! I started doing my own nails almost 4 years ago and this set of polishes was literally the second one I purchased, it was no more than $16 and today, almost 4 years later, I have at least half of every container and they still work amazingly.

I have continued to purchase this brand of gel polishes and will do so you very time I run out.

I have a uv nail light lamp so that I can do shellac on my nails. I have tried LOTS of gel nail polishes and I can honestly say that one works really well for me! It stayed on for about 2 weeks. And the colours are very natural and subtle which I like.

I have also tried other colours from this brand and they worked just as well!.

I don’t think I can go back to normal nail polish after doing my own gel nails at home! I’ve tried other brands, but this one is definitely my favorite. Lasts for 2+ weeks! Could be longer but my nails grow so quickly.

Doesn’t chip if you prepare your nails correctly.

Anyone considering setting up an at home gel kit with Gelish. JUST DO IT!! I had never been that into nail polish since I always dented it as it was drying, it could get everywhere, and even if the application looked perfect, I knew that would last 48hours max before chipping.

So I tried gel. I purchased a starter kit with Gelish and a small LED lamp back around 20019 and I’ve never looked back. My collection continues to grow and grow and I finally upgraded to the best LED lamp in the market – the official big Harmony lamp which is amazing.

Also, my nails always were weak and peeled. Now I have long, strong nails that people enviously comment on. I could talk about this forever but here’s what you need to know. Don’t buy UV – it’s suspected to be dangerous for skin and takes a long time.

Just go LED – Shellac is really the only brand that’s stuck in the UV land. Almost everything else is LED compatible. You only need to buy the Gelish base, a colour, and the top coat. You don’t need PH Bond or cleanser or remover or anything else (you may find your nails are particularly oily and require the PH Bond later, but experiment first rather than wasting money).

Where to buy these things? If you’re in Australia go to Harehouse Warehouse to look at the colours. They sell Minis for $20 which is wayyyy too expensive. Then find a seller in your State on eBay (to minimise postage costs) and buy full size bottles from them for $20 once you’ve picked a colour in real life at the shop.

The branded cleanser and remover are just expensive ways of buying rubbing alcohol and 100% acetone respectively. Just go to Bunnings and stock up. There’s so much you can do once you’ve mastered the basic gel mani.

Look into stamping (you can start with Konad as a brand – there are others, but this is a good quality popular one to start with), embellishments like rhinestones, pigments that can be combined, striping tape, dotting tools, etc.

I’m always discovering new ways to build my repertoire – there’s no limit to what you can do. Start following nail people on Instagram and build up a library of ideas to browse when you sit down to do a mani.

This is such an easy and relaxing process – it’s definitely how I treat myself every 1. 5-2 weeks. I sit down, remove my last mani, prep my nail and create something new and amazing all over again while watching some telly and eating chocolate.

It’s great. And I’m ALWAYS getting compliments on my different manis – from friends, shop assistants, anyone.

I’ve used Gelish gel nail polish for years ever since I’ve started doing my nails at home to save money. It was the gel used in the salon I used to go to so I was surprised to find it so readily available first at Amazon and later at Sally Beauty.

I like that the colors come in smaller sizes so they don’t dry up by the time you use them. I also like that the top coat and base coat come in larger bottles. For around $10 a bottle, the gel polish lasts a long time before drying out or becoming clumpy.

This stays on well and keeps its true color. I could probably go 3-4 weeks, but my nails grow quickly and I’d prefer to do them every two weeks so they are always looking fresh and pretty. You do have to cure the polish with either a UV (older polishes) or an LED light (newer polishes), but these lights are available on Amazon as well.

Gelish comes in 192 colors, according to gelish. com, which is insane, so you have plenty of colors to choose from. If you want to see all the colors, definitely check out Gelish. com. I recommend this gel polish and will continue to purchase it although recently I’ve been buying a brand called Beetles which comes in kits and sets, is super reasonably priced and works just as well (also available on Amazon- just search Beetles gel polish).

These are just a few of the many, many shades of Gelish polish that I own (and these happen to be my favorites!) Each shade is so vibrant and lasts for weeks when applied according to the directions.

Pacific Sunset is the perfect summer shade and really pops against a fresh tan. Rendezvous is the first shade I ever purchased and the perfect berry shade for fall winter. Good Gossip is my go-to shade for Christmas each year and the only shade I even consider for the holidays anymore – it is a bright, yet deep shade of red glitter.

I get tons of compliments on each of these shades, as well as the other Gelish shades that I own, each time I wear them!.

Mood Polish is a line of thermal polishes, which change colour depending on the temperature. Deep Sea is an dark olive, shimmer polish in its cold form, which turns to bronze shimmer when warm. The formula was easy to work with.

I used 3 coats which gave me perfect coverage (2 coats would have probably been enough, but I remembered that when I used another Mood polish the 2 coats looked opaque in its cold form, but streaky when warm, so I decided to apply 3 coats just in case).

In my previous Mood polish (Skies the Limit), the change between the colours wasn’t too striking, but with Deep Sea you can clearly see the change. My nails are quite long right now, so most of the time my tips looked different to the rest of the nail (as you can see in my picture).

However, I didn’t like this colour combo in the slightest. The nail being bronze/orange most of the time and the tip olive/black it looked like my nails had dirt under them. The only time I can see this look being appropriate would be during Halloween.

I like Mood polishes as they are a talking point with my customers and colleagues alike, but Deep Sea would be the bottom of my list for this polish line.

Perfect Match has become my very favorite gel polish. I get my nails done about every 4 weeks. that’s right. FOUR WEEKS. because my nails last that long with this polish. I always get 3 coats of color on my nails, I find that it helps it last longer.

I have gotten so many colors from this brand that I could not even name them all, but my favorite will always be black! I like this polish because it’s not super thick like other gels that I have had on before.

m. I’ve been getting gel manicures with LeChat perfect match polish since july. every 2 weeks religiously and I can’t believe how great my nails look! Maroonscape is my favorite color. I love that the perfect match comes with the coordinating EXACT color in regular polish for my pedicure! Its so hard to match gel colors with regular colors! I would suggest soaking in the acetone for as long as possible when its time for a color change.

I noticed that when my tech soaked for less that 10 min I would have more damage done to my real nail.

i’ve been using the gelish “dark shadow” for a year now, but it was always too streaky and transparent for my liking. i read somewhere that this gel polish was great so i gave it a go. PROS: the actual color is really awesome.

it could be opaque in one coat, but i keep my coats on the thinner side so i always do 2 thin coats and cure for 60 seconds between for perfect, even, blackness. it looks great, the bottle is huge, and you get a matching bottle of regular black polish that is equally awesome.

easy to soak off in about 20 minutes with acetone. CONS: even used with a base and top coat, it doesn’t last for very long. it could be because im constantly getting my hands wet at work, but usually i can get about 3-4 days out of this before the corners start to peel and chip.

I absolutely love this top coat! I need to purchase a new one because it’s almost done. The only thing I would recommend is have a top coat seperate for glitter polishes or powders glitters because mines is full of glitter because it get stuck on the brush.

This top coat after curing doesn’t feel sticky and gives super high shine!.

My all time favorite gel polish. I love not having to use a base or top coat because it saves time! My mani lasts for about 7-10 days with a Onedor top coat. I originally bought this because the Jamberry colourcure was recalled due to formula issues.

This product is definitely better and it doesn’t have any formula issues.

Absolutely loved the colour and at such a bargain price! The salon I went to prior to doing it myself used Jessica geleration and its quite hard to get hold of unless you pay a fortune! This was my favourite colour.

I used it with mylee top and base coats it worked perfect! The colour has lasted well over a week no chips (photo is after a whole week of wear) I had to use 3 coats of colour to get thick enough colour but its a beautiful end result!.

Love this shade of red. Pillar Box Red. Easy to apply, a deep, rich red which is easily achieved after 2 coats. The Palladium is a matt gold, without being blingy. Use 1 coat over a darker base layer to give a little bit of interest, or use 3 – 4 coats to get a solid cover.

Amazing this is as gel does weaken the nail but adding this before your polish hardens and strenghtens the nail to stop the weakening and helps the bail grow while you hsve the grl on.

My friends and I tried the polish together, first time gel polish users and of the brand, and cannot believe after one day it all popped off. The polish immediately chips like we’ve never seen before.

The seller was adamant that it was good, so we contacted IBD and were shocked to discover ALL of the polish bought from this seller was long overdue, hence the poor quality. DO NOT BUY from this seller!.

This hard gel topcoat is great for encapsulating stickers/small decals. It’s way better than normal gel topcoat this product hardens to the nail and makes sure your design isn’t going anywhere.

I love this color for gel nails! Its so perfect for winter like a sparkly purple. I’ve actually done it twice when I got my nails done by my friend who does gel nails and has all the colors and kinds of nail polish.

Only thing is that for some reason on my nails this brand lasts less than when I use OPI, usually lasts me three weeks and with this by two weeks it totally chipped and than i have to take it off.

I have a lot of different gel nail polishes, I do my own nails and only ever use gel. This polish is actually very good. Sometimes the color will be slightly different then the picture shown online but in my eyes that’s okay because they are all still beautiful! And computers and phones can make colors look different at times.

But the actual polish holds up very well! After I paint my fake nails they will stay for a week sometimes more depending on how much I’m using my hands and they hardly ever chip!.

In general, all the polishes at Elite99 are very good quality, long lasting and have a spectacular shine, but this set in particular is my favorite. the colors are the basic ones that go with everything, classic and chic.

I wasn’t expecting these products to be good since the price was extreeemely cheap, but I had to change my mind. I was surprised by how good the colours turn out after a manicure. I’m giving 4 stars out of 5 just because the application at times is kinda challenging and I’ve tried other products very very easy to apply on the nails, but with a little practice it’s nothing impossible.

The most gorgeous red, great for all year round but especially Christmas as it has a fine glitter which makes it sparkle beautifully! Also lasts for as long as you want it to and leaves your nails in one piece underneath, which doesn’t happen with many other brands.

My mother and I absolutely love this nail polish in the shade Mi Amour- the prettiest nude with pink undertones! It definitely works for all ages and id so classy looking and elegant. Lovely smooth finish that can last up to a month after application!.

I had been going back and forth between gel top coats from Gelish (which you have to wipe off with alcohol after the final coat), dip powder top coats (not gel-like finish) and the polygel top coat from Makartt (the end result was very inconsistent, sometimes it dried off and you wouldn’t need to wipe off, other times it never dried but I did try using this one as a top coat for dip powder manicures so it could be it dries well with polygel only).

Then I saw this set on Amazon. The reviews were not encouraging as there were many customers that had purchased other products from the same brand (PH Bond and Primer) that claimed the product had burned through their nail and had caused fungus and the skin under their nails to burn.

Personally, this is my first time using this product from this brand and I am in love with the results! This is exactly what I was looking for, a base and top coat I could use for any of the different manicures I choose for the day.

Cures with UV light and does not need to wipe off, this came off far more gorgeous than I thought it would look, no secondary effects and the bottles do come with a good amount. They were also relatively cheap (run for around $10-$12 for the set on Amazon).

Save yourself the trouble and the money on going for the expensive ones when this brand will do the same for much less. I am looking forward to trying their color dip collection!.

ENTER modelones! I purchased an LED lamp on amazon and this kit and some diff gel colors. And OMG! Perfection. Love love love it. Seriously, give it a try. You just apply the base, cure it under the light.

Apply a few coats drying under the light after each one, and then apply the top coat. Boom! All done and lasts 3-4 weeks until grown out and time to do it over. Getting it off is a task, however I have found that an electric mail file does the trick efficiently.

Seriously, not only does this save money so you can spend it elsewhere 🤣 but also you can do it in the comfort of your own environment. Good yeah nail salons, forever.

This is one of the best nail brands I have found. I do have their base coat, top coat and matte top coat. And I love it! It definitely doesn’t chip off and it’s not super runny. I usually cure each nail for 5-10 secs.

Every time and then will put them all under my light for the full 60 secs when I get the coats done. It’s so easy to have salon quality nails. ( I know my designs are not salon quality) we are stilll working on that🤣 my hands are hella shakey.

Absolutely the best gel nail polish! It dries very quickly and lasts at least a week if I apply two coats and a top coat. Easy to remove polish with acetone instead of destroying my nail beds to get off a salon set that has chipped.

has been one of my go-to nail art polishes for many years now. It’s affordable and works well. You don’t have to pile it on or go over more than once as it works really well as soon as you apply it. I have used other high end nail art products, but I am happy with this one.

The brush is nice and thin giving you more control over whatever design you’re trying to create which I can appreciate because I’m not quite the artist! So if you prefer to do your own nail art and designs this is a good product to try.

I like other LA Colors polishes and wanted to try this one because I thought it’d make my nails look thicker and shinier…. not only does it not do that, it also never fully dries. Put it on over another polish about 2 hours before bed, woke up and every nail was messed up.

Going on 18hrs with it on now and my polish is still moving around as if it’s not all the way dry. This was my second time trying it, first time went just as bad. Maybe I need to spend a little more money for a better top coat.

Ho Ho holy moly! This is an AMAZING polish! Most glitter polishes (which is the version I’m reviewing) smear when you put them on or don’t show up at all. This Deep Sea Diamonds polish shows up and then some! It not only has small glitter but bigger pieces as well which makes it super sparkly! I’m wearing it over a darker color but you can definitely wear this on its own.

Two coats is all you need but you can get away with one. The formulation is on the thicker side which helps keep the glitter in tact. Add a quick dry top coat and you’re done! Highly recommend! I purchased this in shade One Shell of a Party. Online the color was very pretty, but I followed the directions and after two coats I could still see my nail underneath the polish. I had to apply three more coats in order to have full coverage.

I also purchased the top coat and applied that as well. After three days, the color started chipping off. I corrected the nails that were chipped and left the polish on for about 10 days before removing it with nail polish remover.

After removing the polish my nails started peeling and breaking easily. I am not sure if that is a coincidence but have never had that with any other nail polish or remover before. I had to cut all my nails and hope they grow back normal.

I feel like I wasted my money on this nail polish and top coat and have opted to try a more expensive brand in hopes I get better results.

I have used the Miracle Gel 2 step system for years. I have been pretty happy with it in the past. I find it does best on toes that don’t chip nearly as easily as fingernails. I have never had any issue with the step 2 top coat in the black bottle.

Recently, I needed a new bottle of top coat. I purchased one (now in a silver bottle) and the formula is HORRIBLE! Within one second of applying it over any color, it lifts my color off ruining what I’ve just painted on my toes.

I have used the old bottles thousands of times and I’ve never had this happen before. I don’t know if they changed the formula with the new bottle, but I hate it and it honestly makes me want to stop using the product I’ve been happy with for years.

I would give this A MUCH higher rating if this issue can be fixed or if someone can explain why this is happening all of a sudden. I have not changed how I’m applying the product, so it’s not user error.

I love this color; its like a strawberry or watermelon candy. I did one mani with this as an ombre with clear and it was so delicate and magical, like my nails were blushing! It also looked really nice layered under the mermaid chrome powder- it gave me major 90’s kid vibes.

What I liked best about don’t be jelly is that first, this is my favorite color, and last but not least I love the way it brings out when wearing nails or doing them.

Don’t get me wrong- I love this brand and the product is okay. I’m just really not happy with the jelly line’s pigmentation when cured. Tried with a white and black base. still wasnt what I hoped for.

This isn’t the actual color I’m reviewing I couldn’t find the tag for it. But they look similar. The one I have is Gaia. It’s more red/orange/with brown tones. I’ve noticed the color is very popular in style at the moment, especially in the lipstick category.

It’s truly really pretty, the picture doesn’t exactly do it justice. Overall this brand the color exceeded my expectations— I didn’t think I was going to even like it. But the exact opposite happened!! I’m in love.

It glides on nicely, so easy to use, you also can just use one coat, it covers, or it can be built up with more coats. I did 4 coats because I wanted to see if it would dry or how long it would take.

Yes it did dry and amazingly enough only took 1minute under the nail lamp/dryer. I am going to go check out more colors. I hope the price tag won’t break my bank. 😅 I received this one in my Ipsy subscription box.

I am really tough on my nails. I don’t get professional manicures so I am looking for the longest lasting polish. I used Gaia shade by Cuccio. I painted each nail by a different company. The Cuccio came in second place.

One small chip after 3 days. I was able to cover that spot and keep the polish on another 3 days. Pretty sturdy! This is without base coat or top coat.

SUCH a pretty shade! I haven’t had time to do my nails with it yet. but my toddler did manage to open the bottle and “paint” a pretty big area of our bathroom counter. I almost cried, BUT it was an easy clean up with polish remover and a cotton ball.

The color did look true, but it seemed to go on thinner than polishes I’m used to, which actually might keep it from chipping quickly. REALLY great find for the $4 price, although I received the GAIA shade in my August 2019 Ipsy bag.

Really lovely colour for a natural nail. A pinky light nude which can build. Not as white as essie ballet slippers or opi bubble bath. Buildable if you want a more opaque effect. I don’t find it lasts as long as if I went to salon (do have to be careful to prep nails well and avoid cuticle to avoid peeling or lifting) but I don’t mind so much given cost saving and the fact my nails aren’t as damaged from it.

I have been using mylee products for a while now, having switched from another gel brand. They are incredible!! They live up to the 2 weeks chip free mani for sure! I have quite an extensive range now and I have never been disappointed!! The colour options are incredible, you can mix and match too and suit for any occasion.

Was searching for ages for a neon ish bright pink. Turns out I needed to wait til summer for one to be released! This is perfect, it’s super bright and neon, but not neon like a highlighter or cheap looking.

It’s just really bright and I love that. Also mylee gel colours never chip on me (I only use them on my toes though), when I’d use them on my fingers they’d peel off within a day or two (even with correct prep).
