20 Best Uv Pond Filter (2022 Updated)

I purchased a Jebao Pond Filter a year ago, a big mistake, problems with the filter and couldn’t got any help from Customer Support. Purchased a Vivohome Pressurized Pond Filter through Amazon. It was easy and fast to connect to my pond, having different sized connectors was great.

I am so pleased with my new Vivohome Pond Filter.

My pond exposed to the full sun light and it created a lot of algae. After install this filter I don’t see any more algae. The unit doesn’t with a pump and it must purchase separately for another $30 or so.

Anyway, by purchase the pump separately I had option to go with a sinewave pump which is operated with lower voltage 24v instead of 110v.

I bought a Pond Boss and it was awful. It leaked and the water would stop passing through without any blockage. I bought this one and it was half the price and works really great!

As always Dr Foster & Smith got this to my door in a flash! I ordered the 20 watt because it would fit where I needed it and fit the needs of my 1900 gal pond. Out of the box the hookup was pretty much self explanitory.

You can go in or out either way so you can’t get it wrong. Just T-d off my pumps out, put a ball valve in, plumbed out of valve with 1” id flex to uv, then out with the same pipe to the pond. An hour and I was up and running! The unit fit great in the space I had and I am using it externally.

Now what you’ve been waiting to here about, the performance. It seemed like in everyone’s reviews it took 5 days for the elusive clear water to show up, so thats what I have given it before this review.

And just like everyone else, Bam! Clear Water! From pea soup to clear in 5 days! Every day it was on the clarity was twice as good or better! It already was worth the money to be able to see my fish 4 feet down at the bottom of my pond.

To all who are looking, stop here. This thing works!.

Over the past two years I tried different chemicals to get rid of algae in my ~1000 gallon fish pond with a 2000 gph pump. It is a tedious and messy process and nothing worked. I then came across the “Pondmaster Submersible UV Clarifier/Sterilizer” and after reading some of the reviews, I decided to give it a try.

I ordered the UVC-18 and connected it between the pump and water fall. A week later I could finally see the fish and by the end of the second week water was so clear that I could see the bottom – for the first time after 2 years! This is a great product and costs no more than some of the chemicals I have purchased.

Use it and you will be delighted with the results.

I had a little 125 gallon pond installed for my Red-eared Sliders last spring and released them into it on July 4th. The summer heat and sun turned the water green and icky despite covering the area with a pergola and multiple turtle safe treatment options.

I finally emailed one of the product companies asking “what do I do about this algae?” I got a response, and after they looked at pictures and asked some questions, recommended a UV filter like this one.

After doing a little research and reading lots of customer reviews I ordered this from Chewy. One day in saw incredible improvement. In three days the water was crystal clear! It’s amazing how quickly and efficiently this solved a really troublesome problem.

I wish I’d known about this UV filter a lot sooner!.

This clarifier is great. I was a little worried about it arriving broken since it was traveling across the country. Everything came in perfect condition though and I couldn’t be happier. Our pond looks 10 times better.

I can actually see my beautiful fish swimming around again. No more algae!.

We’re completely blown away by how well this device worked. After the winter the algae had bloomed and we tried other things to get rid of it, which didn’t work. Our pond looked like dark pea soup. You could not see anything.

After 3 days with the UV light we saw a noticeable improvement and after 5 days the pond is crystal clear. Don’t waste your money on anything else, get this!.

This has been a life saver for the pond. I’ve tried many diff products over the years. No matter what I tried I could not get the algae to stay away. This is finally the solution. Yea it cost a little bit up front, but it’s worth it.

All the money I’ve spent on products, I should of bought this years ago. Super easy to set up. Give it a good two weeks after you set it up to see your results.

I have a 3700 gal koi pond and the uvc36 did a great job keeping it clear of algae. This is so much better than chemicals, epecially for growing plants and not worrying about my pets drinking the pond water.

However after just one seasonal year the unit stopped powering up. I changed bulbs, power sources, all to no avail. It seems like the transformer pack just went out. this product comes with a 3 year warranty and I would expect for the price for things to last a bit longer than 1 year.

However I understand even mass produced items have their hiccups, so I am currently waiting on a Customer Service supervisor to handle my claim and send a new filter unit. Because their are 2 reasons I bought this filter; The great product, and its warranty.

Hoping to hear back soon before my water turns green. If the customer service responds well, I would give 5 stars for a rating.

I just installed this filter and the difference is amazing! In three days, the water is crystal clear. I have two ponds connected with a small water fall and stream and this is taking care of it all.

I had tried several smaller filters but knowing what I know now, I should have purchased this in the beginning. I did like a lot of people do. I bought one and it did not do the job so I added another one and then another one until I had 4 smaller filters.

and still not as clear as I wanted it. You will not be sorry about this purchase. Plus, let me add. this product was recommended by the consultants at The Pond Guy. If you follow their recommendations, you will be happy with the results.

I don’t like the connectors on this product. I used a pvc flex hose and it doesn’t make a leak-less connection. I had to use silicone to keep the joint from leaking I like the array of connectors they include but they are all designed for hose types I don’t have.

I made it work and it does it’s job well, but I would provide instructions of multiple ways to connect the pump into multiple hose types.

My koi pool is 2300 gallons and was desperately in need of good filtration. This Aquascape UltraKlean Pressurized Biological Pond Filters w/UVC does the job and is so easy to use. I can now see my fish and enjoy their antics.

Yes, Koi are playful and interesting to watch.

I have tried numerous approaches to getting clear pond water. This one works above and beyond any other thing I have tried. It is easy to use. I have to clean the filter every few days because I have a layer of muck in the pond bottom.

But that is easy to do and I think that eventually I will be cleaning it much less often. I only have one issue. The latches do not work well. the front latch does not hold. The plastic appears stretched.

I would suggest that a better latch system would be a big improvement.

The early warm weather caught me off guard. The algae was so bad, you couldn’t see the fish. Purchased the G2 Filter System 700 with UV and the 2-ball CrystalClear PondAir Aeration Kit. Cleared the algae in 3 days.

Awesome seasonal products.

I bought this to assist my main pump for my fish pond. I liked its built in filtration and the UV light for helping to destroy algae. Unfortunately algae makes its way past the built in filtration and partially plugs the fountains ports.

It is simple to unscrew the fountain head and clean out though. It does move a lot of water per hour so its good for oxygenating the water in the pond.

I would never buy from just pondliners again. They sent me the wrong filter for the skimmer as it was way too large and the wrong kind for it. I bought everything for my new pond here and I trusted them to be the experts to know what fit with what and what would work for my pond as I explained to them I did not know exactly what would be the right stuff for my pond.

I thourouly described to them what my pond size was and that it would have to be for freezing cold as it gets 20-30 below zero here in winter. They assured me they were experts and knew all about ponds and what I needed and could help me.

I trusted them and that there reccomendations would all be what I needed for the best pond in my climate. Boy did I get cheated! The filter was for use in a warm climate and ours is below zero so I can not even use it and cost me over $500.

They charged me for everything all that day but it all shipped separately and some parts took months to get so could not even get pond up and going. When I finally got all parts found out half was WRONG and I could not even use them! I called and they promised to send shipping labels too return the useless items and they never did and that has been several weeks ago.

I call and Eric ( the manager whom promised to send return labels)will never return my calls. I am out a bunch of money from wrong items they sent but are now not letting me return to get back my money and I had to go buy the right pump and filter.

Did not clear any better than a cheaper filter i had. After 3 days with a 3600 gph pump in a 1000 gallon pond the Oase 8000 only cleared less than a foot out of 4 foot depth. I wanted this over the 130202 – AllClear G2 4500 & SolidFlo G2 3600 – Combo – only because it had a 55 watt uv instead of the 9 watt that came with the 130202 – AllClear G2 4500 & SolidFlo G2 3600 – Combo.

The price of this was about the same but no pump “620. 00”. This unit is very well made but for the price I would have bought the 130202 – AllClear G2 4500 & SolidFlo G2 3600 – Combo that comes WITH a pump and probably would have the same results of cleaning.

Only time will tell but I am still waiting for water to clear to see my fish.

Found it difficult to set up and find the right tubing since it did not totally align with previous unit that broke. Watch a lot of how to videos. With determination we got it to operate correctly with pond.

It is currently doing a good job. Like the IV light component. Water clarity excellent. Plan to purchase fake rock to cover it. Pond guy has lots of good quality products that we have purchased over the past few years.

The device installed easily into our system, but when we started it up, the light didn’t work. After some back and forth discussion of the problem with customer service, while our pond got more and more cloudy, Chewy sent another UV bulb.

We installed that and now it is working well!! Our pond water is beautifully clear.

I bought this product because the filter I had with the UV light built in failed on me. The filter still works great its just the light unit no longer works, after only 3 years. I didn’t want to get rid of the filter so I purchased the UVC-18 Clarifier.

I had only just set it up and realized there was no Purple Light indicating that the bulb was working. I waited till evening to check incase it was a dim display or something. Still no light. The next day I unhooked it checked to make sure it was all put together and the bulb was properly installed, it was.

I called the 1-800 help line and got to speak to a Tech. It appears the safety stitch was not turning the light on. The Tech told me how to fix it and it worked. Now it is working great. Hopefully it will only take a few days to get my Pond back to crystal clear status.

I enjoy the sturdy construction of this unit. It feels like it will last and no cheap plastic at all. Only time will tell. I have a few other products from Tetra and all are working great. I have a Tetra pump it is still going strong even after 5 years!.

bought this last year and the insert broke off and emptied my pond and killed my 15 year old fish. I wrote tetra and said I needed my receipt which I didn’t have so I spent all that darn money for nothing and lost my fish on top of it.

That thick plastic thing that goes into unit that attached to hose to filter broke in half. I had bought at least 3 of these and refuse to buy another one just to have it broken and never able to get it fixed.

I delay writing reviews until I know the thing actually works. I have had a 4,000 gallon pond with heavy fish loads for 18 years and have never been able to get the crystal clear water on a consistent basis, until now.

I have tried many other filters and this one finally has worked, not just once, but over 2 seasons. The amazing part was when restarting my pond in the spring with pea soup water after long freezes and the water was clear within 4 days each season.

I installed the UV clarifier inline from a canister filter for my 55 gallon aquarium. The aquarium was cloudy from a bacterial bloom that was harmless to the fish but I wanted it cleared. It took the unit 3 – 4 days to clear the water.

That’s not bad but there are better units out there that would’ve done it in only hours. This UV lamp is obviously not strong enough to kill parasites, but can be used to keep the water clear.

I purchased this because my Laguna filter needed a little more help to keep the water clear in the summer. This filter is very similar in size and appearance to the Laguna Pressure Flo filter, but was half the price, so I thought that I would give it a try.

Even though it is similar to the Laguna, it appears to remove less from the water than the Laguna, based on how often I need to back-flush it (about half as often). The real trouble spot is the backflush valve.

The first one broke after about a month. The supplier was great about sending a complete replacement filter, which I used for the rest of the season (about a month), back-flushing about once a week. This spring, I re-installed the filter, and after 4 or 5 back-flushes, the valve on the replacement filter broke, too.

It’s too much trouble to pull the filter apart to manually clean it out, so I’ll be throwing it in the trash. In contrast, my Laguna filter is at least 5 years old, is back-flushed several times per week, and has been trouble-free.

I guess that you get what you pay for. I’ll be getting another Laguna.

I was so surprised to receive this large and simple to install pond filter. I expected it to be half the size it is because of the low price. The lid clamps without having to adjust O rings and multiple clasps, one simple lever seals it tightly with no leaks.

I had it up and running in 15 minutes after attaching the hoses and pump. The murky green pond water cleared after a few hours and a half water change. Happy fish, happy customer!.

Decided to order the filter unit based on research and specifications for our pond. We have been KOI owners for the past 40 plus years and have used primarily Tetra Products which are very costly based on name brand.

However, the quality, price and functionality of this filter is excellent. In just 48 hours the water is crystal clear and the Koi are very active (Happy Fish Dance) in the pond.

I brought this unit out of desperation as my pond is more often than not a green soup. Having looked at videos which appear to indicate clarity in the water after a few days but to my disappointment this was not the case.

I had already purchased a Oase biotec screenmatic 90000 and had an existing 55 watt Oase UV clarifier. It took about three weeks and now I have clear water. Thrilled for me and the fish.

Came next day, super quality product and keeps my pond sparkling clear after just a few days. Well impressed.

Easy installation into an existing system. cleaning is a breeze with a quick clamp action. The price is considerably cheaper than hoze***** solution and better in my optinion. Plus you can buy spares easily so futureproofing the product.

Quick delivery was also a benefit. This is the second item I have bought from Allpond and would highly recommend their prodcuts.

The PondMax 2400 Pressurized Filter is so easy to use. The backwash feature is so much handier and better for cleaning then my sump pump. Can’t wait till the filter has time to build the biological system.

Ben and Kelly were very helpful in getting the system i needed, to include the correct size pump, hose and clamps. Ben’s expertise and knowledge he provided for solutions for my sick fish, pond maintenance, numerous products and what they each do, via phone conversations and emails, surpasses any customer service you’ll find or any website info you attempt to decipher by yourself.

Super easy to set up and get going in my little water feature. The only disappointing thing was that the 2400 was out of stock so I went a little smaller than I wanted to but the customer service of playitkoi was on point.

I emailed them asking questions about the best one for my water feature got a response quickly with information and suggestions. I would purchase from this company again.

I was told I didn’t need a filter in my pond…well, I wasn’t told about the sludge build up— just told to keep pouring Algae Fix in there…we’ll, I have my Pond Max now and it’s made all the difference in keeping my water clean! It’s only been working for me about three days but what a difference!.
