20 Best V Band Clamps (2022 Updated)

These v-band clamps are great! Note: this does not include the two required collars that you weld to the tubing. The quick release feature is extremely useful when you’re welding up a new exhaust on a car because you can quickly test fit the exhaust without any tools.

These V-Band clamps come with a deformation lock nut as well as a normal nut, so you don’t have to worry about melting a nylock (as typical on v band clamps) and your clamp coming loose. I would recommend you leave the deformation nut off until you’re set for final assembly.

(deformation nuts have a limited cycle life) I wish these V-Band clamps were thrown in a tumbler at the factory. The sharp edges were a little unnerving. Some simple deburring would make handling these without gloves much more comfortable! Overall, great product.

These are great Clamps. My application which was a 3 inch unitronics down pipe to turbo connection I needed a 3. 5 inch clamp. The dealer stated that the stock clamp would work. I wasted time and money trying to get the stock clamp to seal properly.

Save time and $$ buy this clamp!!!!.

We replaced old mechanical clamp on 50’s exhaust system and this clamps the joint much better than the old factory unit.

I bought these for 2. 5″ O. D. stainless steel pipe. These V-band clamps are very well made and high quality. The only issue I had with them is they didn’t quite fit over my 2. 5″ O. D. pipe (to allow the pipe to slide inside of these V-band ends).

Not a big deal since you’ll be welding them on anyway, but you might want to keep this fact in mind if you plan on adding them to an existing system since it will require you to remove some pipe material in order to install these clamps (you won’t simply be able to cut the pipe, slip the ends on and weld them).

I haven’t installed them yet, but I’m very pleased with the appearance, fit and finish. The rings are machined with a male and female surface, and they assemble together quite well. No sharp edges or unfinished welds.

Nice, heavy-feeling pieces and very well packaged in individual bubble-wrap envelopes. As always, Summit has just been blowing it out of the water with their shipping.

I bought these and had a local shop weld these bands on my 1991 mustang gt convertible exhaust. The exhaust is now sealed properly and I cannot hear it leaking anymore, the car used to sound horrible.

these clamps are good quality got them to clamp on my glass pack muffler can’t fault the product but the flanges on my muffler were very thick so I cranked them down in several positions around the flange but still had exhaust leak they did hold up to me giving the bolts the business several times I believe that if my flange was thinner they would have worked great.

Although the name on the box that these came in is not Walker or Dynomax, (I can’t remember the name, I discarded the box after installation) the clamp is of very good quality, and the construction is heavier than a typical muffler clamp.

The two clamping nuts are of especially heavy construction. Whatever these are called, or who made them, they are great clamps.

Missing a bolt when I opened the box it didn’t seem like it fell out

The flanges are perfect, not impressed with the clamp. Cheap, thin, small t-bolt size. I was afraid as I was tightening the clamp it was going break. The one and thing that’s nice is the quick connect.

I bought the kit because I was expecting to get the best possible quality (from Vibrant) for this job and save a few dollars with all three in a kit, and again, don’t like the clamp. Buy the individual flanges and then a separate clamp.

I bought the PPE brand which were marked ClampCo and they are 10 times better, thicker band, more welds, heavier, larger t-bolt.

Great product, very expensive. Works well. I have used cheaper ones and the only problem with the cheaper ones is that the stud will sometimes strip, when you tighten down the nut. I have never had this problem with these.

These also have a T stud that makes putting the clamp on very easy.

I installed the Vibrant performance V-Band Flange assembly on my custom exhaust installation. I am extremely pleased with the quality on the band and the over all look and performance of this product.

I would recommend if your looking for a clean and good looking idea for your next exhaust system.

I used these on my turbo kit and they work great. They are a high quality v band and they even have a self locating notch on them. They don’t leak, they can be taken apart time and time again and they don’t bind or anything.

I think they are worth the extra money.

We are installing custom made long tube headers on a 2015 Z28 Camaro. The 3″ V-band flange clamps worked perfect and make for a great way to join the collector to the 3″ exhaust pipes. High quality parts; easy to weld.

The flange on my muffler rusted off, was fixed by welding a pipe between the muffler and the main pipe, and then that rusted off. I bought this to try and just clamp the two bare pipe ends together as I waited for new parts to come in.

I drive a Toyota Matrix (same exhaust as Corolla) and the smallest clamp (2”) was too big diameter. It also is very short, about 3” long, so it’s only really useful if the pipes are butted up against each other.

It won’t bridge gaps more than 1” very well. The clamp material is stainless steel but the I-beam piece is aluminum, so it won’t last more than a year or two anywhere they salt the roads. I also recommend buying some exhaust liquid gasket and applying it to both pipe ends before putting the clamp on.

Cheap but not a perfect fix. Worked really well at quieting down my exhaust. Used some JB weld on the clamp before installing to make sure it sealed. Can’t say it will last forever but my hope is it lasts a couple months.

Car is now quiet, turned the check engine light for the o2 sensor off and fuel use is back to normal. Overall very happy with it.

Straight forward and sinple to install by youraelf. I did have a bit od tepuble getting the bolt and nut attached on the first bolt while holding the steel sheet around my exauhst. It might rwquire a second person to help make it easier.

I did find it was sliding a bit from the vibration and if i had a complete straight pipe it could slide off and if there was a break it could cause the exaughst to drop. I applied some muffler cement to the inside of my plate before i re-wrapped it around the pipe when i repositioned it.

Made it a bit mesay but fixed my issue.

I was happy to see that Jegs started carrying Vibrant Performance products. I purchased this v-band clamp based on the recommendation of a friend. The feature that sold me on this is the quick release latch to make it easier to get on and off.

I was pleasantly surprised with the construction of the band clamp. Easy to install and doesn’t require two wrenches because of the tapped joint. It came with this type of sealing material that seems to melt into place once the vehicle is running, eliminating any gaps and potential leaks.

Excellent Product. Had to cut my mufflers off to replace gas tank in my C2 Vette because they were welded on. Ordered the 2. 5 inch butt clamps and they actually went over 2. 6 inch pipe that was left there.

Wonderful because I did not have to buy new mufflers or a new exhaust system. Thank you so much!.

I used this clamp on a pipe I had to cut to change the angle a little bit and they held great with no leaks and the pipe needed to be held in place with a jack till it was clamped so it was under pressure and help up great, I later took the truck to a muffle shop to modify the pipes so there was no more pressure on the system.

Great product I will use them again.

Bought these clamps for tips recently purchased. Great price & really heavy duty. Described as natural but are actually a little shiny. Super clean look. Forget those U-bolt clamps. Designed to use on slip over pipes & once you use these clamps you won’t go back.

These work great on my Pypes exhaust system. Great fit and finish, worth the $. I bought these as replacements for my originals when I installed my cutouts. Just make sure you have them where you want them when you tighten them down, they don’t come apart very well if you need to remove them.

This is why I needed new ones.

Got these for me 1973 Firebird Pypes Tips I recently purchased. They fit good, were pretty easy to install, and seem to be holding up pretty good. Paid about $17 per clamp, which is about the price I would be paying if I decided to have the tips welded on.

However, these clamps allow me to remove the exhaust tips immediately, if the need would arise.

I was a little disappointed in these band clamps. On one of the two clamps I ordered, the spot welds were not at all robust and clean. Walker usually does better than that in manufacturing and Quality Control.

I’ve used this type Walker clamp in the past and been very satisfied. Also, my recollection from past usage with step-type band clamps is that their nominal size (in this case 2-inch) is for the larger diameter, so I ordered accordingly.

Possibly I am mistaken on that, as this clamp is made to fit a 2″ OD pipe with a step up to 2-1/8″ or so for the larger end. Regardless, this did not fit my application, but as always, Summit has fantastic customer service, and I was able to return the clamps.

Can’t find this at local auto parts stores, well worth a short wait for delivery. Fits perfectly with Walker muffler and pipe. Provides equal clamping force around the full radius of the connection. Zero leaks.

Just torque the bolts down and drive. Highly recommended!.

I bought these clamps for a muffler install on my toyota. It made the install super easy. I just cut were I wanted, added the muffler, slid the clamps over and tightened down. The clamps seamed fairly heavy and used a size staged design that fit perfectly.

Love the clamps and will definately recommend.

This clamp is 3. 0 ” I. D. , by approx. 3. 75” long. It easily slipped over my 3. 0” O. D. dia. tail pipe. It has an inner liner wrap, and an outer wrap. It says “stainless steel”, but my magnet stuck to it.

Perhaps the inner piece is S. S. , and the outer not. Well designed, heavy duty,.

While modifying my 2. 5″ welded SS exhaust system I ordered these sleeve clamps just to give them a try. The fit was great, with easy alignment and they have great gripping force with the grade 8 hardware.

The only negative is that the product description lists them as polished. That is not the case, they arrived in a dull flat finish. They need to be polished or change the description one or the other.

This clamp was perfect for what I needed it for. I had to cut a prtion of my exhaust piping in order for it to fit. The vibrant clamp provided the perfect seal with no leaks where I had to join the two pipes together.

Definitely worth yhe money.

This is the same accuseal product every company seems to sell. Cheap pot metal spacer insert that jams if you don’t use channel locks to pre tighten. Holds well after that. Will see how it holds up compared to 304 stainless tubing.

The clamps were dimensionally too large, to tightly clamp the pipes together. I ended up using standard exhaust clamps. The Cat-back system I used was made of polished stainless steel, so the interface “FIT” was very smooth, which added to the lack of clamping, retention force.

Works great for exhaust applications, my exhaust went through 2 rubber hangers & I had the idea of using this metal hanger instead because of the hanging desing which worked really well.

Overall this is a great product. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. It was the size I needed to put my exhaust back together.

I did not know what was causing this puff puff noise so I stopped at Auto Zone. They had helped me previously on an item that other auto places didn’t know what I was talking about. Today they did the same.

Found the flanges I needed to make the noise go away.

Not gonna get too excited here–after all, it’s an exhaust clamp, essentially a U-bolt with a reciprocally-facing arc of steel which, once the two nuts are seated snugly to the back/outside of the aforementioned arc of steel, closes the “U” and forms an “O” around.

I clamped exhaust pipes together. It worked as advertised.

There are index rings to keep alignment, there is a counterbore for the tubing to sit in on, I was expecting the bite to be 3. 5 all the way thru, but I will machine further thru for my build plan. Welding will happen next week.

This clamp is designed well with register fit. It was just what I needed for my exhaust.

Bought these for my TTi headers – to replace the typical 3 bolt gasket flange on the end of them. They are super nice, and work perfect for tight area’s!

I did buy one of these for a axle back. Although, the part is well constructed and seems sturdy; its design does not include a male/female fitment between the flanges. The lack of this produces a exhaust leak.

The flanges were aligned perfectly on installation and tightened firmly and it leaked. A second try was attempted by another exhaust shop, and the leak diminished but is still there. I will be asking for my money back when I remove this.

Make you waste time and money.

While these work well and look great, they do not have an aligning groove in the mating surfaces like vibrant clamps do. Not really an issue as the clamp aligns the pipes just fine without it for exhaust.

That’s the one thing I noticed that they don’t have when compared to more expensive name brand clamps. Might be something critical on a turbo up pipes or if you have to place the clamp in a bend or something.

These clamps are great! Easy to weld and make a tight and solid seal. The clamps make it possible to take my entire exhaust on and off if need be. I thought they were fairly expensive but when you receive and use them, they are worth it.

I preferred to utilize glass blasted/VHT covered mild steel (un-aluminized) tubing for this exhaust system. I also favored the use of Flowmaster 50 series mufflers based on prior reviews and delay reviewing due to incomplete development.

In addition, I selected (4) Stainless V-Band clamps to reduce associated rust possibilities, as well as, ease of installation and future maintenance. I researched the use of 309L filler rod with the two dissimilar metals and to confirm this principle, I contacted Terry at Summit Tech Support for recommendations.

Terry approved the use of Stainless V-Band clamp with mild steel tubing and the use of 309L rod for this application. At this point in my progress, V-Band clamps appear to be functioning properly and dissimilar metal welds, applicable.

This product arrives in the perfect package to keep exhaust clamp protected. All stainless construction, beautifully machined and a perfect fit. Requires full welding to the exhaust pipe. Easy to assembly making a muffler removal or a perfect exhaust disconnect.

Working on my exhaust system. Got a new clamp for the resonator. Better quality than the ones I had in stock. Great quality, fit snugly, tightened evenly and tight. Checked again after two weeks on car.
