13 Best V Belt Brand (2022 Updated)

I inherited a 1940’s Delta-Milwaukee drill press. A friend said the belt needed to be replaced and took the old one off for me. After looking everywhere for the correct sized replacement with no success, I asked the same friend for recommendations.

He said buy a link-belt from Rockler. I did. It looks like the picture. It would have been easier to install if I had taken the old belt off myself, but I did get it on. The drill works, so the belt must be doing what it is supposed to.

I’m glad Rockler supplies this effective replacement for old v-belts.

Easy install. Also changing worn pulleys, one of which is aluminum, on a Powermatic combo sander. Belt texture feels aggressive- we’ll see if it wears the pulleys out unnecessarily fast. Otherwise, this is a pretty cool design.

I used this belt on an eighty year old planner that had a similar design with the links riveted together. One would assume the belt had been on the machine for a long time and was loose causing the planner to stop feeding the material.

This adjustable belt allowed a much tighter fit, the planner works great.

Perfect fit. I bought a different brand from a different auto store which was a tad smaller in diameter and I was stretching until i was blue in the face. This dropped in perfectly to the tensioning pulley.

It also has a much higher quality feel you can tell right away when you see and hold it versus the normal belts.

Bought this for my 05’ Ford Mustang. Simple replacement. Car started to whine, more noticeable in the cold. Bought this, used my 3/8th breaker bar and done deal. Thought it might be the tensioner at first given it’s still oem, but wasn’t the case.

Would recommend for anyone with same make/model and symptoms.

Installed this belt on my 2010 Ford escape XLS 2. 5L in March, changed out the belt tensioner and checked all other pulleys for play and noises which everything seems fine. Didn’t really have any problems for a couple months then one time when I started car it made a very loud squealing noise so I pulled this belt off and put on the old belt which is the OEM belt by ford then the squealing noise went away.

I’m sure this is a good quality belt but it just didn’t work very well for my car.

Kept hearing a squealing noise after replacing the cracked radiator. The belt was new at the time, but I replaced it again thinking it was damaged. Spend the extra money for good quality. Problem is solved.

I decided to spend a few more dollars and get this one which had better reviews and the brand was a little more reputable. My old serpentine belt broke when the tensioner/idler pulley seized up and melted, so I replaced that too.

The belt is a little hard to get on at the bottom but once you have the bottom part on you can thread it through (checking the diagram on the front of the engine bay, to the left of where the hood latches).

Leave the smooth pulley in the top-middle for last, grab a socket or wrench and move the tensioner/idler pulley to the right to give yourself some slack and then push the last bit of the belt under that smooth pulley.

That did the trick!.

I’ve heard great things about Continental, but, while AutoZone said this was the right belt, it was never installed, because the belt on mine was still in GREAT condition — no cracks or visible signs of major, moderate or minor wear warranting a change.

Sooo.

So far so good just had it installed a couple of weeks ago, wow my car runs great, better than ever and combination of this new belt and alternator. Thank you guys for great quality equipment. I did get the 3 year warranty serpentine than the 1 year warranty.

The serpentine belt was an exact match for the belt removed from our 2014 Honda Civic EXL Coupe. Be aware taking the belt off from the top of the engine is very easy. However installing the belt from the top of the engine is extremely difficult if not impossible with only two hands.

This is not the fault of the belt but the limited working space to thread the belt around several pulleys. Removing the passenger front wheel and the plastic access plate to gain access to the harmonic balancer significantly reduces the effort to get the belt on in the correct placement.

Also beware that the belt tensioner is hydraulically loaded, not a mechanical spring, and must be moved slowly to reduce the tension on the belt when removing and replacing the belt on the alternator pulley.

Dayco uses a felt feeling bristle between the ribs of their belts. because of this the belts dont seat on the cars pulleys fully during installation. wasted two hours trying to get it to fit. Bought another brand and it installed in 5 minutes.

Took off OEM Mopar belt. Compared length to this belt. Thought the Dayco was longer than old belt with 100K miles on it. Thought maybe it was just the way I stretch it to compare. Installed the belt.

Noticed the position of the tensioner compared to the stops/notches in the tensioner mount. With the old belt, I still had about 50% of the tensioner movement remaining. With this new belt, only have about 25% of movement remaining.

Wonder what happens after break in period??? Probably be loose enough to take out some bearings in the pumps. Which then means parts and another new belt. (good for people selling parts) Maybe why some reviewers say this belt only lasts 6 months!!! Once it wears in, the tensioner is done.

Anyway, Found a notice from AC Delco that says they came out with a new belt specifically for the Dodge 3. 3L and 3. 8L engines which is 822 lenght rather than 825 length. AC Delco comments that 822 is the exact fit for the OEM part.

Bottom line, I am rejecting this part as soon as I can find the proper size.

Obviously a higher quality belt, the video’s are very persuasive! The only product type that would enhance this product would be a hard case with belt & tools included.

So far the belt has worked great! Put roughly 200miles on it so far and have had zero issues. Hoping it lasts a good while.

Like Bando auto serpentine belts so thought I would try one of their mower belts. Belt is one mower so only time will tell if last longer than the other brands.

Good fit and runs quietly. Will have to see how long it lasts.

Although this belt looked the part and appeared to be high quality it shredded within 15 minutes of fitting to the mower. It must have been a faulty belt as the one on the other side cylinder is fine.

Asked for a matched set for my lathe, belts turned on time and perfectly matched, quiet in operation, but with confidence

Be nice as you’re using the Dunlop brand name to actually send some Dunlop’s every once in a while.

Previous owner of a 25 year old car put the wrong belt on the car. I had changed the belt in the past and use the previous belt as a guide to buy. It never was right and I could not get it to stop squeaking.

Rep helped me find the right belt. It took a couple of tries as the listed belt was too long. Rep explained the codeing on the belt and together we got one that works perfectly. Above and beyond!.

This V-belt is a perfect replacement for the worn out stock one. It runs smooth and quiet and doesn’t stretch over time. Great part…

Made in China. Come on. Get some good stuff in your stores. Like Gates or other American parts. Had to tighten it 3 times in a week. Total stretch out of cheep fiber mesh

I have purchased many belts from other sites that claim to be the right one for my lawnmower, but Auto Zone is the only place that carries one that actually fits. I appreciate them carrying the belt I need.

The belt appeared that it would do the job but the 40 inch belt is too short for my application (1959 Ford tractor with an alternator conversion). I went back to my local Auto Zone and returned the belt.

Unfortunately they didn’t have the correct size in stock.

I always go to my local Autozone first whether its for one of our vehicles or lawn equipment. They had the perfect replacement belt for my commercial grade lawn tractor. It was a much better belt with improved fit than from the shop the mower was purchased from.

Love Autozone! They can’t be beat!.
