20 Best V Neck Sweaters (2022 Updated)

I bought two of these sweaters for my husband as gifts. He has bought other brands as he likes the warmth of merino wool. The fit, weight and quality is perfect and by far this brand far exceeds other brands in every way.

Easy care is a plus. These can be worn any season. They also can be worn casually or for the office. Try them you will not be disappointed.

Excellent quality for this price. Couldn’t be happier. I am a woman’s S/M and ordered a Man’s Small It was a risk….but I love the fit over shirts and turtle-necks! Perfect!

Sweater is vg quality, sold in local Macy’s right now for $35. 00 on sale. Fit is true, zipper is vg quality,. Super value for a high quality product. All items I’ve purchased are same level of quality, price combination.

Many years ago, I bought a Brooks Brothers V neck sweater in a light blue that I really liked. Then, that color went away. When I saw this sweater, it wasn’t the same, but had the appeal of being a different kind of blue – not navy; not sky, somewhere in between.

I bought one and then another – in case the first one gets soiled; and, what if I gain weight? So, bought another. I’m covered in case anything happens. My luck, the original blue I was after will be in next year.

I live in San Francisco and need a sweater almost every day of the year. This sweater is perfect for the climate. The medium size is a small bit large for my small build. I also bought two of these in navy blue.

Excellent sweater on all counts: fit, feel, color, weight, style. After an entire season of regular wearing, it shows no signs of deterioration. I’m 6’0″ 155lbs, and this medium fit just right.

Not crazy about the green flecks. Makes it look dirty. Size was good and seems well made. It’s a Christmas present so I’ll let my niece decide if she wants to eep it.

I bought this sweater in the baby blue color sort of on a whim. I wanted to stretch my wardrobe color options beyond earthy warm tones and I knew with my dark hair a baby blue would look lovely. The material is beyond soft, it feels like you’re laying on a cloud.

It’s cozy and warm, so cute. I took the advice of the reviews and sized up from my normal XS to a S since it was fitted at the bottom. I’m not a fan of too snug clothing but I honestly probably could have been fine with my normal XS as the arms feel a little big BUT that may change post wash.

Definitely a new fav and something I plan to get a lot of wear of this Fall/Winter.

This is very cute! I love the sleeve length. I usually have trouble with sleeves being too long, but this is the perfect length. I’m usually a small in tops but size up to a medium when it’s fitted, and the m in this fit great.

Took one star off because of the fabric. It’s super soft, but I know from experience that this material will pill like crazy after even the first wear. Shame it’ll only look new for the first couple of times you wear it.

The sweater was soft and felt like nice quality, but overall the fit was not for me. I purchased an XXS and the midsection fit beautifully- super flattering- while the sleeves looked a bit off. The sleeve was closer to being full length and much looser than it appeared in the photo.

I have narrow shoulders and skinny arms, so I think it was just a bad fit for my body type. For reference, I’m usually an XXS. Wish Madewell carried this in petite sizing.

This sweater was just what I was looking for, a cotton maroon sweater in a size XL. The ClubRoom maroon sweater was on sale for only $4. 78. After I washed it in hot water and ironed it, the sweater fits perfectly.

I am very glad that I decided to make this purchase, it is also a very nice looking sweater as well.

This is a decent sweater, however, it looks nothing like the photos. The color is much more of a crimson red instead of a burnt orange/red. In the attached photo, the sweater on the right is another maroon sweater I purchased.

The one on the left is this sweater which is very close in color.

This sweater has a very boxy and weird fit, nothing like the flattering fit shown in the photo. I was very surprised at the weird seams on the edges when I put it on. I couldn’t see them in the photo on the website.

The top just seems a little poor made, especially for the price. I was expecting a more thick fabric, however this felt very sad and I don’t think this would keep me warm. Additionally, the color was a little too striking.

I bought the hot pink version expecting a hot pink, however this was definitely a neon pink. I don’t really recommend a sweater to anyone, I just don’t feel like it would fit anyone’s body type and it’s kind of weird fitting.

Love this sweater! I like to wear it with a pair of jeans and boots. It’s comfortable and warm but still a lighter and less cumbersome sweater. I have a pretty narrow frame so the torso of the sweater is a bit baggy but it doesn’t look sloppy – just fashionable.

I like to wear it under a poncho or a sweater blazer for a polished but casual look. It is a bit thicker (despite being light) but still layers well. My favorite thing besides the warmth is how soft it is! I would buy three more sweaters like this!.

I love the oversized boxy fit of these sweaters and I always pick one or two up each year in new colors. This runs VERY large (I’m usually a size M or L and size Small is still big on me) but after sizing down it’s a perfect sweater paired with skinny jeans.

It’s not too long on me at 5ft 3in. The fabric isn’t itchy and I’ve machine washed/air dried these sweaters without a problem. I will say that the quality of the fabric on these sweaters isn’t the same as it used to be, but I like the fit and seam detailing so much that it outweighs this.

This sweater is so comfortable, it’s my new favorite. I decided to order a size up (I’m normally a medium in tops and got a large). Sizing up gives it a slightly oversized look without making it look sloppy, or too boxy.

The material is probably the softest I’ve ever felt in a sweater- I think there’s even a little bit of stretch to the knit, so I would be careful when washing/handling so that it doesn’t stretch out.

Usually I’m a little iffy on Abercrombie sweaters but this one I highly recommend!.

I get the LuxeLoft sweaters every year – SO soft, great colors, excellent length. Easily dressed up or down and warm enough for Midwest winters. Lighter colors are thick and not see through at all. 38DD and I order large for a body hugging (but not tight!) fit.

I like this sweater a low, super soft! I will say, I stuck with my true size XS and the sleeves are still long and without a band they just keep falling over my hands, maybe I could’ve sized down? Other than the long arm length, this sweater is perfect and I want to order more colors.

I bought this in both solid colors for my husband, and my sons liked them so much I bought both colors for them too. They feel like a light sweater, but have the comfort of a tee (no need to wear a layer underneath).

However, the striped versions are horrible (who thought this was a good idea?), and wish they had offered a few more solid colors (BLACK!!) instead.

It’s a really nice sweater. Style, quality, and a nice discounted price. But the big problem, the color in the image onscreen bears no relationship to the actual color of the product. The actual color is more muted, almost a heather quality to it.

Nice but not what I thought I was getting. I bought the sweater on a “no return” basis and I feel dumb because I would have returned it because of the color.

Nice, form fitting sweater. It’s thin enough that I just wear it w/o an undershirt. Very comfortable. I wear a large and in terms of fit, I’m muscular/athletic (larger shoulders and arms) and it fits great.

My husband loves these sweaters so much he had me buy duplicates. That way when the originals wear out and we inevitably can’t find replacements he’ll have new ones to pull out and continue to wear. He wears these every week to work over a dress shirt.

They are very lightweight but warm. I’ve washed them in cold and hung them to dry at least 3 times and they still look new. So far we’ve purchased this sweater in all the colors they make plus duplicates.

I wish they came in even more colors!.

First, all-merino T-necks, sweaters, etc are highly valued since merino wool is the best there is for everything. So these are great off the bat. They are also relatively inexpensive, particularly on sale, so are very good value.

the only qualm I have is that the turtleneck itself is knit as if it were a ribbed cuff, which means it is less substantial than the body of the sweater is. The result is that it doesn’t stay up so well.

Too thick and it would be too hot, I know, but in this case the body is medium weight and so I don’t think that would be a problem. So I would prefer the knit for the neck to be like the body. But it didn’t stop me from buying several colors.

Disappointing. They have made the sweaters machine washable now but the fit and feel is nothing like it was. Instead of a high quality heavy duty merino wool it feels like a cheap and light fabric. I wish they would bring back the dry clean only merino wool sweaters, they were the best sweaters I have ever bought.

I tried this sweater on in my local store. It is absolutely beautiful. Perfect cut, flattering neckline, gorgeous color (I tried the bright pink). Unfortunately, Loft chose to add 4% wool to the fabric.

I am very sensitive to wool and after only a few minutes, started to itch. I really wanted this sweater, but knew I wouldn’t wear it. Loft, please bring back the acrylic nylon blend v necks of precious years with a straight hem.

This sweater hits all the right marks. I bought in the capri blue color and it is beautiful. I love the fabric too because it has cotton in it along with the acrylic and i am hoping it will wash well.

Has the look of a thick wool but without the itch. Super Soft. V neck hits perfect spot to wear alone or layered. Wish it were a little longer as it hits at almist high hip, but I am tall and used to that.

Just need to decide what other color to buy now.

These sweaters are warm, soft, and comfortable – they are simple but very flattering and easy to dress up or down. Colors are fabulous -so much so that I got two; burgundy and bright pink. I did not find these to be itchy but generally layer sweaters over thin cami tanks for extra warmth.

One thing to note is that there is a slight variation in sizing between colors – the burgundy is more true to size, but pink ran larger and I ended up sizing down in it – I like my sweaters more on the fitted side, but for those that prefer them roomy this should not be an issue.

I was quite surprised by the value of this garment. I am saving up for the winter. Not with money but with garments I can layer with. For me, it is a superb find. I needed them to be bigger so that I can house another underneath.

I bought both the blue and sand clours.

loved the feel of jumper, very soft and the fact its made of recycled material just amazes me.

Tried this sweater on in the store the other day, and I LOVE how it fits. haven’t bought just yet because I can’t decide which color I want! The purple is definitely more cool-toned (one of the online images is a bit warmer in color than this sweater actually is).

I’m usually a size S, sometimes a M in Athleta tops (and a XS D-DD in the sports bras), and the S was a perfect semi-fitted fit. Skims the body without clinging, and arms are nicely fitted. If you want it to fit more like the model photos, I might recommend going up 1 size for the looser fit.

This sweater is well made, it’s a beautiful color and I think it would be warm. I bought it on a whim brought it home and tried it with my jeans and leggings. I decided that I am going to return it. I didn’t flatter my body the way I’d like it to, but it might be a great find on someone else.

It’s all about personal preference in how you like your sweaters to hang and fit on your body. I personally prefer a less boxy fit.

The dusk violet color of this sweater attracted me but the softness is what really hooked me. It is very oversized – I’m usually an XS/S but sized down to the XXS and it was still roomy. Great for tucking in the front of jeans or wearing with leggings.

It seems warm enough for an Oregon winter. For reference, I’m 5’2″, 34E, 125 lbs. The quality seems great so hoping it won’t pill.

I have three of these sweaters that I’ve purchased over the years. Until now, the quality, sizing, and design had been consistent and good. This year’s model is noticeably inferior to its predecessors.

Firstly, the fabric is thin, to the point of feeling cheap. The old ones were thin, yet sturdy; this one is almost see-through. You can feel it in the weight, too, just picking up each garment in your hand.

Secondly, the dimensions are much bigger this year. For the same nominal size (Large Tall), the old ones are trim and flattering, and the new one fits like a dress. Objectively, measurements between the shoulder seams, across the chest, and across the waist confirm that the body is 0.

75 – 1. 5 cm bigger, laid flat on a table. Oddly, the arms are still narrow, to the point that it’s hard to stuff a slim-fit dress shirt through them. Lastly, the neck design is different and, IMO, not for the better.

The opening is larger; the difference may look subtle in the photo (old left, new right) but it is positively gaping while wearing it. The wide, ribbed detail has also been replaced by a thin, smooth one that visually reinforces the larger neck hole size.

On the positive side, the sleeves and body are very long, which I appreciate. Also, the color is beautiful; this year’s brown color is as much gray as it is brown, and goes with a lot of my wardrobe.

I’m trying to decide whether to exchange this for a Medium Tall, or just return it and try another brand.

I originally ordered and received the crew neck style in dark blue size small–which was great! I wanted it to wear as a layering piece (bottom piece) for skiing. It was tight,comfortable and everything a wool sweater should be.

I liked it so much, I came home and ordered the v-neck in grey to wear on cooler days. Highly recommend this.

I’ve eyed this for a few seasons, but never pulled the trigger due to the price. I finally came upon it in store and was able to try it on and it was an immediate yes. The fabric feels very high quality, and I think you could dress it up with a skirt or dress it down with jeans and it would be perfect either way.

I love that I can throw it on and look presentable for work calls working from home. I am a small or medium in Jcrew, and I went with a medium for this as I definitely wanted that slouchier look. A small would have worked fine too.

This is a beautiful piece! I chose the gray, and it looks so slick and polished, yet laid back and relaxed at the same time. I bought a small despite typically wearing an XS at JC because I’ve been enjoying the slightly oversized look.

It’s perfect. The quality is fine, it’s soft, and the collar lays perfectly. It’s just low cut enough to be sexy but not immodest. Love it! Wish I’d bought it in oatmeal, too. Nab this while you can.

Also looks amazing with the gray drawstring wool trousers and a pair of gray shearling Boston clogs! Very cozy chic.

I ordered this in gray a couple years ago and it was perfect. The cashmere was soft and the collar was as well, it fell open beautifully. I ordered this time in the blue and gray and they feel a lot rougher, the cashmere is not as fine and the collar is a lot stiffer and doesn’t fall open the way I would expect.

The blue is a lovely color though, more twilight than navy. I wish they were more like the old version, I will be returning.

There’s a lot of nice things I can say about this V neck sweater. It has quickly become my favorite go to thin sweater to wear to my office because the caviar fabric is so soft and the bright red color makes me look more vibrant and I often get compliments.

It’s been so hot outside but the AC in my office is unforgiving so I love that Chico’s makes the sweaters thin enough to not feel sweaty outside but thick enough to keep me warm in the air conditioned office space.

I really can’t say enough how soft and cozy the fabric is…. It really does feel like caviar!.

This shirt feels incredibly luxurious and soft! It’s flattering in all the right places and hangs just a bit loose on me. I received a size 2 and I usually wear a size 6 (medium) in t-shirts. I can confidently say that size 2 was big on me.

However, I love the oversized fit! It would look adorable with dark-colored jeans and matching boots during the holiday season.

I got the red v neck. It’s more of a burgundy red, it is so soft and very comfortable. It’s not clingy so no worry about any of those problems. I ordered a 3 and I usually wear a 12-14 ish in tops. I am a 36ddd and it fits perfectly.

The length is long enough you could wear with leggings if you are not tall. I am 5’5 and it comes just below my bottom. This is my absolute favorite so far for fall.

Sometimes reviews can trip you up. I saw a review and decided not to order the sweater as I am an hour away from a Lily store. Well guess what. I was shopping and a lady in a store not Lily had it on! It WAS AMAZING! I went straight to the store and they no longer had it but ordered it for me.

I wanted both colors but was only able to get the prickly pear. This color rocks! The style is adorable! I would love it if Lily made this in more colors as I love the v-neck style and it is so incredibly comfortable! Please make more of this style and more bright neon colors! I usually buy a large but wasn’t sure how it would fit.

I like things a little loose so I chose to size up. I am glad I did. It is comfortable and flowy.

I love this sweater – especially the color. The sizing is a bit tricky though. I bought my usual extra small, and it’s a bit tight in the shoulders with a swing style or flare out. Hopefully this will stretch with wear.

Other than that I love it and can’t wait to wear it once the summer heat settles down.

I loved the spicy coral color of this sweater. It is not a true red. It is a bright pink red, almost neon red. It fits true to size and the neckline is not too low cut! Can’t wait fo wear when the weather gets cooler.

The quality of this shirt for the price is an absolute steal! The cashmere feels incredibly soft, not itchy at all, yet keeps you comfortably warm. The large for me is just big enough to wear an undershirt underneath it so that I can keep it clean longer, but not so large to wear it’s baggy if I decide to just wear without an undershirt.

As a taller guy, he length of the shirt is perfect as well, as the sleeves go right down to my wrists. If you’re on the fence about trying out Quince, just go ahead and try it out! You have nothing to lose with their 365 day return policy as well.

I ordered the v-neck cashmere sweater for my husband. He is usually a size L. But he is also short. The sweater fit okay, but the arms were quite long. We have ordered a smaller size. Hopefully, the sleeves will be be shorter and the body fit will still be acceptable.

The cashmere is reasonably decent quality and is definitely worth the price. However, we do have some vintage cashmere sweaters and the quality doesn’t match that at all. The purchase experience was good.

My boyfriend absolutely loved his sweater and it looks great on him! The olive color was beautiful and different from his usually blue or black, but still in his comfort zone. The fit and quality was were perfect; so soft.

I was a little hesitant since he is very particular about his style and what he wears. He put it on immediately, has been wearing often and has told me multiple times how much he likes it.
