20 Best Vacuum For Seniors (2022 Updated)

Although I read from everyone’s reviews first that it had less power, I didn’t realize how much less it would be. I had a shark stick vacuum several years ago which I loved so decided to get this over the Bissell cordless after a couple months of reviewing different options.

I wanted a separate vacuum to use in 2 of the rooms bc the cats aren’t allowed in there and I didn’t want to contaminate with the other vacuum (dyson canister) Going in, I was expecting less power but it feels like it’s a lot less – almost 1/3 power.

Sort of like the old cheap $50 stick vacuums that are corded. That is on the bare floor setting vs the carpet setting. The carpet setting is more powerful but still not as much as I would like so I feel you’re getting about 50% power of a corded vacuum.

That said, it is collecting more dust than expected in the canister so I am pleased with that. However, I have to run it over the carpet quite slowly to ensure more dust and dirt is being picked up. After using, I did start to sneeze a lot.

So the air filtration is not great. I ended up having to turn on my honeywell air filter for a few hours. And all this was to only vacuum one big room by the way. And it took 3x vacuuming to most of the dust out.

I do like that it is cordless so will probably keep it but the price to performance ratio is not great. I probably would have been happier and rated this 4 stars if this had been under $200 instead of being $250 and then close to $300 with tax.

It is a bit heavy and the stick can’t be shortened so it is a bit tall for me. So 3 stars because I like the cordless feature and it does work so it meets expectations if you’re looking for a cordless vacuum bc it is cordless and it does vacuum.

I’ve used it for 3 weeks. I wouldn’t say I’m completely ecstatic over it the way I was when I bought the corded shark stick vacuum the first time. But I will keep it bc it isn’t bad, I wanted a separate cordless and I have the other better vacuum as back up if needed.

However if you are only going to have 1 vacuum, buy a corded one vs this one.

I got this Samsung Cordless Vacuum at Discounted Price in exchange for my honest opinion* I can’t believe why I haven’t looked for cordless vacuum before and I have found the perfect one. Just a little background: I have big home with big family with kids.

My home gets messy so many times. I hated carrying wired vacuum to every room and managing the wire while using but this Samsung Vacuum is blessing in disguise. It is light weight with perfect suction and without wires, it is very easy and comfortable to use.

I am gonna list out all the features: Cordless: Obviously. This should be a must feature in every vacuum. This makes my life very easy and saves time. Power: There are three settings. Low, Medium and High.

Low works fine for most of my home floors. I use medium when I am doing carpet and I rarely use High as low and medium gets the job done but High is very accurate. It does require more force to use it but it cleans the floor in one go.

Attachments: This Vacuum comes with so many attachments to use for and they are perfect for hard surface or low/high carpets or bedding as well. Battery: It says it lasts 1 hour on low settings which is almost accurate.

– on low settings, it lasts about 50 minutes – on medium settings, it goes for around 30-40 minutes – on full power, it can go for 20-25 minutes These timings are more than enough and most of the time you will be using low power which gets the job done perfectly It takes around 3-4 hours to charge fully.

You can easily buy another battery if you need to use it longer Suction: Suction is amazing on this. Usually, other vacuums require atleast two uses on same surface to suction everything but this vacuum does in one go which saves your time and energy Noise: Noise level is low compared to other vacuums.

Cons: – weight of this vacuum is slight heavy but I got used to after using it few times and I don’t notice it anymore – I don’t have complaints on battery but I hope Samsung will improve battery on this in future to have more usage time – Cleaning does take little time and work but that is pretty much similar to every other vacuum out there Overall, I am very satisfied with this Vacuum and would recommend it to everyone.

This is a very compact and handy wireless vacuum. When I say handy it means easy to lift and take wherever you want. You can easily put this in your car as well. I was looking for a wireless option for a vacuum since I wanted something to clean my stairs that have carpet and my car.

Samsung Jet™ 60 Fit Cordless Stick Vacuum is a perfect vacuum for cleaning tight places such as toilets, bathrooms, stairs, and cars. It’s very basic and does not offer many features such as wifi, and display.

There is an On/Off button and ( /-) buttons to increase or decrease the suction power. What’s included: battery pack, 2 attachments for carpet and floor cleaning, and the narrow one to clean between couch or car seats.

Difficult to vacuum the carpet when using the highest suction setting. No Smart features I would definitely recommend this vacuum if you are looking for an additional vacuum for cleaning tight spots or for a studio apartment.

I recently received my Samsung Jet 60 Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum and I haven’t stopped vacuuming. Upon opening the box, the first thing I noticed was the lightweight feel. I was able to hold my toddler and take it out of the box at the same time.

The Samsung Jet 60 Pet is replacing my Bissell Cleanview and within 10 minutes it has already picked up more than my Bissell would have. The lightweight design makes vacuuming enjoyable and it’s easier to get all the hard-to-reach spots.

My favorite two features about the vacuum are the washable filter and the removable battery. I never realized how much a difference having a rechargeable battery can make when it comes to vacuuming. I no longer have to worry about tripping over the cord or accidentally unplugging the vacuum.

The Samsung Jet 60 Pet also comes with 3 interchangeable tools that can fit your needs. The Long-Reach Crevice tool has been my favorite. It’s perfect for getting dust along the baseboards or our vaulted ceilings.

Some other great features the Samsung Jet 60 has are the 5-Layer Filtration system and the 3 levels of suction power. I highly recommend this vacuum for anyone who is looking to upgrade and improve their cleaning efficiency.

Over our 46 years of marriage having living in DC, Texas, Hawaii and now I’m Central California, we have purchased over 25 vacuum cleaners of all the various shapes, sizes and types. Most have not led up to the hype given them by their ad departments- until now.

We just finished a remodel of our ocean front condo having installed beautiful Black Forest white oak hardwood floors. We tried a few of highly touted vacuum contraptions on the market and were disappointed in the results- left over dirt, minor scratches on the flooring, cumbersome machines that were difficult to use.

Flash forward to our new LG Cordless. Our hardwood floors love the vacuum as it not only does the job of picking up dirt, dust, dog hair (think Long haired Tibetan Terrier) and yes, some of my hair that is hastily departing from my head as I continue to age.

Being a bit of a nit picker, I’ve always had a problem with things being out of place, windows that needed cleaning and floors that required immediate attention. Our (MY) LG Cordless is the absolute best in thoroughly cleaning AND polishing our floors thanks to the ingenious hardwood floor attachment that comes with the LG.

FYI, be sure to not use the well designed carpet attachment on your hardwoods. Suffice it to say, i found my Nirvana and no longer have the need to conduct hours of research to find my perfect vacuum.

Prior to purchasing this vacuum, I had (and still have) a Shark Rotator Professional Upright Vacuum and I love it! However when I moved into a new house that primarily has LVT or “hard” flooring, I was going to be limited to using my Rotator Professional to only the bedrooms and closets since it’s not really for use on “hard” floors that can be scratched (And at the time, a Hard Floor Hero did nothing exist for the Shark Rotator Professional like it does today).

Since I LOVE my Shark Rotator Professional, I looked to no other than Shark for the purchase of my next vacuum that would be compatible with the “hard” floors in my new house. So when I saw this Shark Rocket, and it’s “Hard Floor Hero” I knew that this was going to be my next new vacuum.

After purchasing the Shark Rocket, as soon as I opened the box, I discovered that there is in fact two “hard floor” type attachments for this specific vacuum: the hard floor hero and the dust away attachment.

And that these two hard floor attachments are vastly different. The aforementioned “hard floor hero,” that my vacuum actually came with and that I was excited about, was very underwhelming and in fact was/is a joke.

What I thought that I was getting included in my vacuum purchase was t he hard floor dust away attachment, a much more useful and intuitive attachment, not the hard floor hero. that was my mistake. Then, as far as for performance of my Shark Rocket.

I must say that I’m highly, highly disappointed with the performance of this vacuum from day one. The suction on this vacuum is extremely, extremely weak. especially when compared to my Shark Rotator Professional! And the suction on my Shark Rocket was weak even upon the first use of the vacuum.

Unfortunately though, my fiancé unexpectedly passed away less than 1 month after I purchased this vacuum, and before I ever used the Rocket for the first time, and needless to say, when I did finally use my Shark Rocket for the very first time because of my grief, it was way outside of its return window, and it was even just outside of it’s one year manufacturer’s warranty period as well (When I purchased my Shark Rocket, the manufacturer’s warranty period for it was only one year.

). That’s life for you I guess. I would not recommend the Shark Rocket vacuum at all! I would however highly recommend the Shark Rotator Navigator with its Hard Floor Dust Away Attachment if you have some type of “hard floors.

” Wish that the Rotator Professional’s Dust Away attachment existed when I was first looking for a “hard floor friendly” vacuum for my new house.

I purchased my Shark Rocket Corded Bagless Stick Vacuum for Carpet and Hard Floor Cleaning with Swivel Steering last month. I did not plan on buying this brand at first. My intent was a canister type vacuum that was not over 12 pounds.

I noticed the Shark Rocket design immediately and the words “lightweight ” caught my attention. I can’t lift large heavy or bulky items any longer. I picked the Shark Rocket up and it felt great! I noticed it was designed to be user friendly.

I can easily vacuum the entire floor without emptying the holder. There are several features that are wonderful including push button releases that allow you to change to attachments. For a lighter vacuum, the Shark has tremendous power.

I love the ability to clean corners and baseboards at the push of a button. It is easy to empty and clean out, again, at the touch of a button. Above all, the Shark offers a 5 year warranty that comes standard.

I highly recommend this vacuum!.

My husband bought this Shark Rocket for me in hopes of replacing my Dyson Animal with something lighter for quick, daily vacuuming, but it’s not up to the task. First of all, though the Rocket isn’t as big or as heavy as my old vacuum, all of its weight is at the top; the dust bin and motor are connected to the hand-hold, which means my wrist and hand have to support the bulk of its weight.

Because the weight isn’t distributed, the small brush is unwieldy – too light to easily control regardless of how much pressure I attempt to push it with. I’m not a weakling, lol, but my arm gets tired FAST.

Secondly, there is no way to turn off the roller brush and use just suction on hard surfaces. I have to move really slowly in sweeping the hardwoods, or else the Shark spits crumbs and other debris out the back.

Moving slowly = holding the heavy motor/dust bin/handle for longer = even more tired hand/wrist/shoulder. Speaking of the roller brush, it clogs with dog hair and stops rolling after ONE pass over the 5×7 area rug in our seating area; I have to turn off the vacuum and cut the hair from the brush at least four times just in sweeping the one rug (we have two dogs, but I sweep every day, so I’m not asking it to vacuum a week’s worth of hair at once).

It’s VERY frustrating. More negatives about this Shark Rocket: 1. It doesn’t stand on its own. If I need to stop sweeping in the middle of the job for any reason, I have to lay the vacuum on the floor, or prop it up against a piece of furniture.

I still haven’t figured out how to store it. 2. The cord is also attached to the handle, and gets in the way of dumping the dust bin. 3. The attachments are difficult to use because they attach to the motor/dust bin/handle piece either directly or via a 12” hose, meaning I have to continue to hold the heaviest part of the vacuum while trying to manipulate the tools.

4. Though the brush part of the vacuum is small enough to adequately sweep the carpeted steps, I have to either lift the whole thing up, turn it backwards, and dangle the brush in front of the risers, or fight with the inconvenient and unwieldy attachments to get those areas.

I’d say it takes twice as long for me to sweep using this than it does the old, clunky Dyson – definitely not making my life easier. I actually hate this vacuum, and would have returned it after the first use had my husband not thrown out the box it came on.

Two hundred bucks for this useless thing.

This vacuum was on my radar for 2-3 months before I pulled the trigger. Historically, I’d never considered purchasing a Shark product that was somewhat comparable in price to a Dyson. It sounds silly, but does it really? Dyson seems to have the “market” convinced that they’re the king of suction.

I currently own 2 Dyson vacuums (handheld and upright) and they a do a great job on hard wood and tile floors, but stairs and car interiors were a huge hassle to clean regularly. In addition to those 2, I own and use an additional 6 handheld or upright vacuums in combination against German Shepherd glitter.

The Shark ® Vertex ™ Bagless Corded Canister Vacuum in Black/Copper has blown all of them all away! I’m not particularly strong, so the overall weight of the canister and the attachment is significantly important to me.

It’s so versatile and powerful out of the box and I think this is due to the actual power cord vs cordless vacuums. In my opinion, corded power is significantly stronger. I’ve been able to clean all areas with ease using the vacuum head, power handle, and attachments.

Hard to reach areas behind the toilets, the dust on baseboards, windowsills, light fixtures, inside drawers, behind/between car seats, lint catch in the dryer, my dog’s bed (twice a day), and so many other things that I hated doing because the other vacuums are so much heavier or cumbersome.

The brush roll attachment is not too wide and not too narrow, as it covers a great amount of space but it able to navigate tighter spaces that my uprights cannot. I was so impressed with it’s performance that I purchased additional attachments on the Shark website.

The Self Cleaning Pet Power brush is phenomenal! They should really sell a version that includes this brush for pet parents, because the brush is insanely good. I spent an additional $160 for 4 attachments plus tax/shipping, but only the power pet brush was really necessary.

Overall, I wish I would have purchased this much sooner! I purchased it when Costco had it priced much lower than BBB, but with a sale and a BBB Beyond + membership, it was still cheaper and only a few bucks more than the non-duo clean version.

The only con, is that the dust cup does get dusty when it’s emptied- but like someone else said, that’s normal with any vacuum. German Shedder (Shepherd) mom approved!.

This stick vacuum is amazing. Very easy to put together. Works great on hard surfaces and if I only use it on stairs, I am one happy person. The size makes it so easy to clean carpeted stairs. You can swivel the head around in corners and I like the cordless feature.

Dust cup is easy to empty. I am 75 and find that it is not heavy. Recommend highly. Hopefully I will feel the same a year from now.

This is quite powerful for such a small stick vacuum! Maneuverability was fantastic – the vacuum has a rotating ball to make it easy to move throughout the room and under furniture. The ability to detach the long vacuum to make a handheld vacuum is appreciated as well.

The additional use of the upholstery attachment works great. Some cons: most of the weight is at the top of the vacuum, so obviously it is quite top heavy; this takes some getting used to as you move the vacuum around.

It also is not able to pick up larger items because the floor part of the vacuum is so small – my dog, like many, enjoys tearing apart his toys, and it is not able to pick up the fluff unless you use the attachments.

If you have all carpet, I can’t imagine that this would be a replacement for a traditional vacuum. I have hardwood floors with rugs, and it is perfect for that spot cleaning. That being said, I like not having to wrestle with a cord while I vacuum – the rechargeable battery is a plus!.

I really wanted to love this thing. From day 1 the brush doesn’t spin on low carpets or even bare floors. I am very confused and thought that maybe the battery was not charged fully but even with the full charge the brush doesn’t spin half of the time.

and u never know when it will spin and when won’t. the light goee off and that’s it. i think I got a defective unit and will be returning it.

I’ve been using this vacuum for over a year now. It is my only vacuum for my 1000 sq. ft. house, and I have a shedding dog – it works great for pet hair and for the fluff that my dog pulls out of toys.

The battery lasts just long enough for me to rush through the entire house, but I recently bought a second battery so that I don’t have to rush so much. I love how modular the assembly is – easy to clean out and change length and tools.

My one complaint about this vacuum is that it’s a bit inconvenient for left-handed use. The air that blows out, comes out the right side and straight up. So lefties using this will get blasted in the face with gross air.

I hope they address this in future models. Obviously having the air blow down wouldn’t be helpful but maybe just straight out instead.

Did my research, read reviews and after the TINECO was unavailable, chose JASHEN for their strong reviews. I’ve had my JASHEN V16 for 8 months and absolutely loved it. But. recently it started losing suction.

I emptied the dirt holder, cleaned it thoroughly hoping that it was a mechanical blockage. Unfortunately after ensuring hoses and holders were clear and after turning it back on and trying to increase the suction using the plus button on the front of the machine, it stopped working.

I contacted Best Buy and because it is a ‘Market Place’ purchase, they have contacted JASHEN directly and have said to expect a response from JASHEN within 3 days. I’m keeping my fingers crossed but hope that a company that deals with Best Buy has a good service policy.

Will re-review if not. :(.

Just got the Jashen V16 after reading reviews I was optimistic and excited. When the box came I opened it up and immediately noticed how small the dust/debry container is, it’s about half the size of a normal vacuum.

When I tried it out the suction was very weak, even when I had to on the highest setting (drains the battery super quick). Then if you want to switch between hard surface and carpet you have to manually remove the rotating mechanism (gross).

I felt like it faired a little better on hard surfaces than carpet, I would NOT recommend at all on carpet, my son’s working play vacuum cleans better. So disappointed, and will be going through the hassle of returning.

I guess pay cheap, get cheap.
