20 Best Vacuum For Water (2022 Updated)

I had a rainbow years ago that got ruined when someone used it and threw it in the closet with water in the reservoir and totally trashed the motor. I inherited the rainbow from my grandmother, and I know she paid about $2k for it, so I knew I would never be able to replace it.

When I saw the Sirena, the whole system was so similar to the rainbow! The hoses and fasteners and everything looked just like my rainbow, but it was less than half the price. I decided to go for it, because I loved how clean the air felt after using a bag less water filter (because dust and hair ARE going to get trapped in water!), and I also loved how you could run it just as an air purifier, and I add fragrance to the water, as well.

One thing I noticed right away was the squeeze-activated self-propel power head. You simple squeeze the handle and it activates and propels the power head. Need to stop the rotating brush for a minute? Just let go of the squeeze trigger.

It’s nice not to have the brush just rotating and wearing on the carpet if you need to stop vacuuming for a second to pick something up, move the canister, etc. The first time I used it, I used my old vacuum first, and I was shocked at the amount of cat hair and dirt I got out of my carpet with the Sirena right after using my old dirt Devil.

I’ve used the bare floor attachment, the turbo head on the stairs and furniture, and the small round brush with the pole extended to vacuum my ceiling blades, and it performed each of those tasks flawlessly.

I won’t lie, the Sirena has actually made vacuuming fun, so I find myself using it a lot more than my old vac, and for a lot more things (I’ll dust more than just ceiling blades). And when I’m done, the air feels clean and smells great.

And since you’re dumping out all the dirty water, that means everything you vacuumed up is getting throw out rather than sitting around in a bag. And the water filter is so great, there’s no telling how long before I have to change my HEPA filter.

Oh, I also tested out the wet vac function and it’s amazing! So much thought in the details with this system! 10/10 would recommend! I also paid with affirm, so it was much easier to budget.

My rainbow vaccum that I purchased 33 years ago is still working but is getting a little worn. We decided to purchase a new water filtration vaccum based on their ability to remove dirt from our carpets.

This time, we tried the Sirena vaccum to save considerable money. The unit arrived and appears to be well thought out and well built. I used it for the first time in our RV and it did a fantastic job.

We have very little carpet but I had to clean the water 3 times based on the amount of dirt it took out of our floors. The foot release on the base is a definite improvement over my old rainbow. The water tank is bigger than my rainbow, and it rolls smoother than my rainbow.

The extendable wands are really nice and the way the power is incorporated into the wand is much better than my rainbow. So far, I am very pleased with our purchase and the 10-year warranty gives me some comfort that the unit will hold up well.

Although we are full-time RVers and have very little carpet now, this unit will replace our Dyson when we get home as our main vaccum for the house. For all you full-time RVers out there, it is amazing how much dirt we track into our 5th wheel.

Campgrounds are usually dusty with a lot of gravel and we do not take our shoes off everytime we come into the RV. This vacuum takes more space to store than the small battery powered Dysons that come with the units but it does an amazing deep cleaning of what little carpet you have.

Our small Dyson that came with the RV makes the entire rig smell like dust and dirt when we vacuum because it just blows the dust out through the back filter. Put a few drops of deodorizer in this vacuum before you start and the entire rig smells fresh when you are done.

My first impression was that this doesn’t feel cheap as with many new products these days. The flexible hose felt very heavy duty as does the body of this unit. The suction surpassed my expectations.

After setting it up, I stuck my hand near the hose inlet as a test and based on how it was sucking on my palm I have decided that it has great suction. Another feature that I like is that it has a compartment at the top that stores your vacuum accessories.

However, one thing that I disliked is how loud this unit is. My reference for this observation is in comparison to my old shop vac that this is replacing. This vacuum is really loud, especially when vacuuming out my car in an enclosed garage.

Depending on your job size, this one does very well. The capacity isnt huge, but as long as you empty it as needed, this machine is awesome. And I like that this vac has a specific output port (VS the ones that just output in several directions around the top mounted motor).

I wanted something to keep in the garage to clean my car interior. This unit is so handy and still sufficiently powerful. The blower function is also handy. When purchased on sale it is very good value.

The house should stretch more easily.

I’ve had this for over two years and used it around the house and for the car. Its a great unit – sucks well and is not too big. I love the storage for the extensions. Canadians be aware: if you want to get the hepa filter cartridge for this, it is almost impossible to find in Canada.

Rona / Lowes doesnt sell it – I mean why would they support a product they sell?? I waited a for a year for the ‘big online retailer’ to get it in stock. In the meantime I called every supplier I could find and nobody had the hepa filter in Canada.

Might not be an issue if you dont need any upgrades – but it just shows that Dewalt doesnt provide much support in Canada for this product. My other complaint is that the tool end of the hose is 1-7/8 inch.

This is a rarer size – so if you ever want to hook this up to more standard sized dust collection ports (e. g. 2-1/2 inch) you will spend a lot of time or money trying to find an adapter that works correctly.

Or you’ll be using a bunch of duct tape. I tried many parts from big box stores – I eventually gave up and 3d printed the adapter that I needed. Overall I like the vac – its sturdy, has good power, and works well.

I bought it on sale thinking it was a great ‘deal’. Yet I’ve spent more time and money on getting this to work with other things than I should have to. Next time I’m buying a brand that has parts readily available, uses more common standards, and backed by local stores for parts.

I live in a rural town so ordered on line and picked up at closest Rona 1. 5 hrs away. Same price as competitors for this model #. I needed it now as my very old brand X couldnt keep up with the demands of a reno project.

This machine appears to be engineered for work and not just built to sell. Solid, well balanced, comes with all the useful attachments you need and is quiet as a vac this size can be. This vac is everything a big boy shop vac should be and will exceed the requirements of most DIY’ers and contractors alike.

I found the cord a tad short but I got over it as soon as I put this brauty to work thus the 5 out of 5. cleans construction debris and drywall dust almost effortlessly Good Job Dewalt.

I bought this vacuum last week after getting tired of my shop vac being really loud and loosing suction. This one is 100 times better. The suction is great. The pipes are bigger so it does not get jammed often.

It had so much suction too, does not leave screws or nails behind. It is surprisingly quiet for how much power it has. It’s easy to wheel around too. A much better quality then other shop vacs. I am super impressed.

Bought this vacuum for the same reason as many of the reviews, for cleaning a pellet stove. As other reviews it blows the dust everywhere no matter how clean the vacuum or filter is. Called customer service to see if there was something that could be done and all they told me was that this vacuum was not meant to pick up dirt or dust.

Very disappointed that shop vac sells a wet/dry vac that will not pick up dirt or dust. Must be just an expensive paper weight.

I’m sorry I didn’t expect too much from this tiny little shop vac. I was wrong to underestimate how much I would be using this on a daily basis! The wall mount is not too space consuming, the attachments are all stored neatly and easy to interchange the filter from wet to dry.

I’m vacuuming my car every day, goodbye dog hair and beach sand and miscellaneous French fry! I’m driving around like a woman who has her stuff together and it’s not just a valuable tool for cleaning the car! I use it to clean up after my kids and pets (sometimes me) inside the house daily.

I’m using the dusting attachment on the AC, and before making my bed if I see dog hair I can suck it right up. It’s a game changer. I store it in the bedroom closet, wall mounted but it’s so easy to grab and go out to the car with.

The only suggestion for improvement would be the cord isn’t retractable, it has to be wound manually and secured with Velcro strip after each use to maintain tidy appearances, if the cord was retractable I would also suggest a longer cord, as I have had to use an extension cord to reach further than the current cord allows.

All in all the positive is far outweighing the negative.

I am absolutely in love with this thing. If you have pets, or just a hard time cleaning in general- this helps SO MUCH. It picks up hair and litter no problem. Ive used it to clean my carpets and deep clean my couch.

It really is a life saver. I never realized how filthy things can get. The only downside is that it is so lightweight and not on wheels so it is easily knocked over. And when you knock it over you need to shut it off and open it and close it for it to work again.

It is also pretty loud but hey, for a powerful vacuum I expect it to be a bit noisy. It comes with all of the attachments you would ever need. I can’t wait to try it in my car!.

If you are looking for a small shop vacuum, this is the one to get. I have had this since Nov. 2020 and it has been awesome. It’s big enough to handle any job you might have and small enough for storage and to carrying around.

I was deciding between this one and the Hyper Tough 1. 5gal and so happy I got this one. Since it’s advertised for “car cleaning” it came with little attachments that can squeeze into small tight spots.

The first time I used the attachments was to vacuum my fridge coils, the little attachments were awesome. I’ve used this vacuum for everything in my garage, saw dust, sand, dirt etc. Can not recommend enough if you are looking for a small vacuum that doesn’t break the bank and take up tons of space.

Also, it comes with a wall mount which is kinda cool but i don’t use it since I move it around so much I just have it under my work bench.

Stanley 4 gallon wet/dry vacuum in stainless steel is a great vacuum to have. The instructions are easy to read. Assembly was pretty easy, just simply push wheels in & there’s only one attachment you need to use screwdriver ( to attach the handle).

Once the wheels are attached this vacuum glides with ease. The vacuum has a pretty good size power cord with a good length hose. The hose attached easy to the base & stays securely in place. Changing the vacuum from wet to dry can be done in a breeze, not complicated at all.

It’s on / off button is a good size & easily accessible. The base holds a good amount & is easy to empty. The base has 2 latches that secure the base to the top. Stanley wet dry vacuum has 4. 0 horse power, great powerful suction, picks up the tiniest of pieces.

Great for checking the hard to reach places with it’s long hose & hose extensions & tools. You definitely can’t go wrong with Stanleys stainless steel wet dry vacuum. I would highly recommend this vacuum, it’s definitely a great equipment to have in your home or office.

This Vac is a replacement for an old Sears shop vac that I have owned for 35 years. The old one was noisy and a bit clumsy to use. The Bauer 9 Gallon vac has very strong suction, and is rather quiet compared to my old vac.

You don’t get a lot of accessories, but my old accessories fit this model so it’s not an issue for me. Accessories are way to find and not that expensive. It does come with the hose, and 2 different nozzles.

It lacks a small brush, and a crevice tool. Again, I already have these parts. I like the hefty handle on the top as it doubles and a place to lift the unit, and the power cord stores nicely out of the way when wrapped around the handle.

The wheels work well and the tubes and accessories fit firmly on top of the caster assembly for storage.

This gadget is treasure in my house, and i would not be without it, so easy to operate and so light, pls do not let the cheep price of $39. 00 to fool you, the power is amazing and it should be priced much higher.

I recommend for every house hold to have one of these, and i have purchased 5 3 as gifts, 1 for my house and 2nd one for my business of multi apartments.

I could overlook everything I don’t like abt this machine if there was anywhere I could buy the filters required to use the Vac. Trust me when I say I have looked all over the internet and tried to call the manufacturer however no luck tracking any contact info not even through Walmart.

So basically it is a 1 use machine. The filter is small and no way to clean. I thought we were trying to stop being a disposable country. Well this may seem reasonably priced but since you can only use it 1 time it is really expensive and then it’s essentially garbage.

NTM its very lightweight and tips over easily that makes the top unattach so you have to turn it off and refit the top b4 you can return to what you were doing and it happened frequently. I will try to turn it into something else to avoid filling up the landfills that is unnecessary if even a different brand filter could be attached.

I have waisted enough $s trying to retro fit with no success. Buy anything but this.

This is a little powerhouse, strong enough to pull up throw rugs, and the cleaning attachment may get pulled off when you try to release it. It pulls up water in seconds. It uses only 3 amps. The box says two different horsepower ratings: 1 and 1.

75 hp. Not listed in the manual so I looked it up on another website and it’s 1. 75 hp. Either way, it’s a strong machine. Easy to clean, just unsnap, rinse and dry the tank. You must use the blue filter bag for dry, but remove it for wet.

No filter is needed for wet, but debris is often mixed into water and gets tangled around the filter cage. I got reusable foam filter sleeves for it, and they don’t cover the bottom of the cage, but do keep all the debris out.

Just rinse and wash the filter. When done, the vacuum is light enough to hang in your closet with a bungee cord. Any cons? Typical of shop vacs, it’s loud. The power cord is just about 6 ft so you need an extension.

There are clips to wrap the cord but they aren’t tight enough to hold the tools well, and there’s nowhere to stow the hose. The hose has swivels on both ends but is short. (Good news is standard 1. 25″ shop vac extension wands and tools fit nicely).

Last, it is lightweight and tips over easily. This vacuum is good for small cleaning jobs, but since it doesn’t have wheels, it would be tiresome for cleaning large rooms. I’m glad to have it for emergency spill cleanups.

HAD A STINGER VAC ITS BETTER DESIGN ,BUT MOTOR BURNED UP AFTER 8 YEARS?.

No issues with shipping or the product it’self. This model is extremely powerful for the size. The only thing I would say negatively is that Ridgid should have design it with a handle on the top. If you’re buying this for car detailing then it’s perfect, although I would recommend buying the professional 1-7/8 hose and your accessories separately because the car detailing kit comes with a smaller hose diameter that whistles extremely loud and you’ll lose suction power.

I wanted a small powerful shop vac mostly to suck up water. This one is just that. Probably better quality than my old 5. 5 hp 4 gallon shopvac (that they don’t make anymore). It seems to be more than 1/2hp more powerful.

The 8 gallon and more shop vacs just get in the way and there is no point to sucking up so much water that you can’t lift it.

Very versatile, powerful and handy vacuum cleaner. The blower is so powerful that you can also blow the snow with it. No doubt it is little bit noisy, this may be due to high suction power. The only downside to me and the reason of 1 star less, is without carpet brush attachment and the attachment available at Homedepot does not fit.

You have to buy another adapter to fit the carpet brush. This increases your cost of ownership. I recommend this Vacuum Cleaner.

Had tossed around the idea of going with a lower HP vacuum but decided that I wanted to buy something quality and something powerful and saw that this was on a reduced price. We’ve been really happy with it so far.

We bought it primarily to clean out a basement of dust, dirt, and cobwebs, but also have it handy for the car and whatever else might come up. So far it’s performed very well. I didn’t realize how powerful 6hp really is, but I find it is every bit as powerful as the tall tower vacuums at the car wash place, and tall enough that when I’ve tried it on some of our rugs it’s actually lifted the rug right from the ground.

I read online some complaints about the noise of it, but we have a regular upright Bissell vacuum for the house and to my surprise this Ridgid vacuum is a fair bit quieter. My only complaint would be that it doesn’t come with the carpet head.

Overall I am glad we sprung for a higher power vacuum and for the Ridgid both for build quality and warranty.

Just picked this up today and my initial experience is mixed. First the wheels require a huge amount of pressure to be seated correctly in the canister. I almost gave up. Wear gloves so you don’t injure your fingers when doing this step.

Second, the top half does not give a tight seal to the bottom. there is not a lot of pressure to hold the two pieces together, however when you turn it on the vacuum affect seems to pull the two pieces together.

Shut if off and it becomes a little sloppy again. On the positive side the suction is fantastic. Hopefully going forward it works as expected, and I guess I shouldn’t expect much more for the price. Based on experience so far I will put “no” for recommend this product to a friend until I have time to try it out.

Purchased the Ridgid WD1450 to replace my Lowe’s vac that finally died after many years of service. This replacement vac is quieter with more suction. Additionally, the extra long power cord (20′) makes it convenient to vacuum a larger area without having to relocate the power cord.

The hose and attachments are typical and are adequate. The HEPA filter is awesome as there is no dust that escapes into the atmosphere. The vac has a large collection capacity and is very easy to empty.

(I plan to add a pre-dust collector in the near future). To sum it all up, I have no regrets for having purchased the Ridgid WD1450 Wet/Dry Vac.

This may be the second of the 20 Bauer cordless tools I’ve purchased that I might return, but hear me out – there’s a silver lining. (FYI, I returned their heat gun because the trigger is crap). Obviously a loyal customer here, but I was shocked that it doesn’t have two incredibly useful features: 1.

An extension cord plug. The fan and work light both have this option and they are still compact with a fair price to boot. 2. Second battery plug-in. Yes the run time is great (10 minutes of sucking up debris on my Bilco stairs and I still have 2 dots on a 5ah battery).

They could have easily allowed for extra run time for biggers jobs or better yet, for more power when sucking up water (which kills the battery faster). If anyone’s got an emergency situation, they’re gonna want more CFM thank this.

And this sucker is not small, so keeping two vacs around is kind of a pain. I get it – a cordless is not going to crush the specs of a corded any day, especially at this price point. But if it had the corded option I’d probably ditch my 15 year old Ridgid in a heartbeat and make this my go to machine.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty to like here. Great design – Fits Ridgid 1 7/8″ attachments and hoses. Big wheels are nicer than traditional casters, and the lid even has an airtight lip which really ups the suction.

BTW, the hose is crap – I’d recommend a wire-enforced type, but hey, I bought this for 75 bucks on sale, so it was kind of expected. Overall, compared to rest of the Bauer line, I just wish they’d thought this through a bit more.

Without the cord or second battery option this would have been perfect as a 3-5 gallon beast. Now it’s just a pretty good 7 gallon. 3. 5 stars.

Top quality vacuum! I’m very amazed with this vacuum and all my Bauer tools. I’ve been getting all the brushless stuff and couldn’t be more pleased. When I bought it I thought that it would be like every other shop vac in that the accessory tubes and attachments would just fall off all the time.

I’m happy to say I was wrong. They are solidly snapped onto the vacuum. No worries about them falling off unless you drag the vacuum underneath something. I thought it looked cheaply built the first time I saw it but when you can actually feel the quality and use it I actually like it better than the top brands.

I agree they need to make vacuum bags for it. Then it’d be a true replacement for Rigid vacuum we use at work. The bags make it so nice not cleaning the filter constantly.

I really like this battery powered, seven gallon, wet/dry vac. The size is perfect for my uses, cleaning up after small wood working and do-it-yourself project; and cleaning around the cat box (we have a large cat who loves to scatter litter).

Uses the same battery as my reciprocating saw. I recommend the 5Ah battery. Easy to open and empty. Has good attachments for extending into tight spaces. Rolls nicely without tipping over. Plenty of power.

Between the saw and the vac, I have two batteries, and one is always fresh. I highly recommend this and other Bauer products.

Arrived early, looked brand new, in perfect shape. Had an immediate vacuum emergency the same day, and was happy I had it. HOWEVER, it was advertised as being “quiet” and I expected a “muffler” attachment for the rear air output at the back of the motor.

The vent even has a ‘hook’ for a muffler to slide into and attach – but no muffler attachment was included. That was disappointing, but not enough to knock any stars off this product.

I’ve seen reviews from legit experts like Vacuum Wars on the Rigid series Wet/Dry vacuums. This one is as good as the reviews say: it’s really that good with excellent run time. Naturally you need a good battery from Rigid but once you got the platform you’re set with this Nxt.

You get an average of 20mins per 6aH, and with two 9aH you got an hour almost to go at it. This thing is amazing. Only downside is a lack of a HEPA filter included in the kit but for the price at this current date it’s wroth dropping the additional cash for such a strong performance vacuum.

The suction on this is superb and there are some useful features, however I have a couple of gripes. Firstly, as this is not one of the dewalt ‘dust extractors’ and more of a plain old vac, the dewalt attachments do not fit on it, therefore I had a bit of a mare trying to connect it to my 35mm mitre saw outlet.

I managed to source a 3D printed attachment off a well known auction site. It’s very useful having the power take off, however you can tell that this isn’t a uk design as a standard 3 pin plug doesn’t fit overly well as the cord fouls the unit.

Overall the quality is reasonable, it performs well and it has good features.

Small but powerful. I bought this to help get the last of the water out of my swamp cooler in a month or so, but the day after it arrived I accidentally knocked a bottle of peroxide on the bathroom rug.

I immediately dumped water on it to dilute it so it wouldn’t bleach the rug, and then used this to vacuum up the water. Then my garbage disposal broke about a week later, and the sink wouldn’t drain.

I used this to remove the standing water from the sink. Bad luck for me, but good timing, since I now had a wet vac. The only issue I have is that occasional a little bit of water will spray out the blower hose socket while it is sucking in water.

Compared to having a sink that won’t drain, or a wet bathroom floor, that is a minor quibble.
