20 Best Vacuum For Woodworking (2022 Updated)

I purchased the 20 gallon wet/dry vacuum with the 6. 5 peak for my shop expecting a high quality Craftsman product. No so! First, no screws were included in the packaging to mount the handle or hose retainers.

I immediately called customer support only to be told that my product support people don’t work on the weekend so I should call back on Monday!!! The person on the phone could not help me. Not much of a help line if you have a job M-F.

I ended up using my own screws to assemble it. Otherwise assembly was simple except the casters wouldn’t “snap in” as per the instructions. I had to hit them in with a mallet which is a little unnerving when the parts are made from plastic.

The motor housing lid does not fit snugly to the base. When you lift the vacuum by the handle, the motor housing separates from the base. The 20 foot cord is nice except the cord retention feature on the handle is designed to accept a 10 ft cord.

The 20 foot cord won’t all fit and annoyingly falls off. The vacuum hose is very stiff plastic. It requires you to “fight” with it while using it. It has a strong memory to the shape it took on in the packaging.

The only reason I gave it a 2 start rating as opposed to a 1 star is because I like the 20 gallon size it on 1st use, it does have pretty good power and suction.

Bought this about 6 months ago to replace my larger 16 gallon Craftsman that finally died after about 10 years of home use. Material quality looks to be dramatically reduced and several of the “nice-to have” features have been removed.

The good, suction is good so far, no problem picking up sanding of joint compound from drywall, sawdust, wood shavings and general garage and household messes. The bad, the electrical prong is misaligned, so it needs to be bent slightly to actually enter the outlet.

The power cord is much too short, at 6′, now I need to run an extension cord every time, unlike with the previous 16 gallon vac which had a 12 or 15′ cord. The wheel castors are cheap and wobbly, especially compared to the previous vac.

Craftsman also removed the tool holder capability from the top of the castors, which was perfect, they’ve add a small, flimsy “tray” which has 4 cutouts, of which, only 2 cutouts are large enough to hold anything, so that’s pretty much useless.

No storage of the hose onboard, which isn’t a deal breaker, but less than ideal. I don’t have a decibel meter, but Vac sounds louder than the 16 gallon one, my wife came downstairs the first time I used it and asked what was happening because the noise was more than previously.

Last noticeable difference, the plastic is only 3/4 or 1/2 as thick as previously and thus, less rigid than the prior model. I still have the old attachments and the tank and the 16 gallon plastic is resilient and difficult to deform.

I can easily deform the thinner plastic, so very concerned on how well it will hold up long-term. Glad I kept my old attachments, so I can use those. though I’ll need to build my own storage solution.

Very disappointed in Craftsman and their reduction of quality and features, my family has trusted them for generations, but when this vac breaks slim to no chance a Craftsman will be replacing it.

It would be 5 star if it had one hose end that fit power tools for dust collection and the accessories fit to that end. Fits great on the packout, decent run time with larger batteries and works with smaller ones when needed.

Hi and low power selection is great to extend the run time. Large handle is nice, cleaning it out is quick and easy and not needing to remove the hose to store away is convenient Good for dust collection on my jobsite mitre and table saw, however, the hose attachments and storage for these attachments were poorly designed along with the dust ports on certain Milwaukee power tools.

I have to get adapters to fit to the Milwaukee table and mitre saw, You would think they could set standard diameters for their own tools. There are two hose ends that reverse thread on the hose. One is for the the included accessory attachments and the other is to attach to power tools.

You have to unthread the ends to switch from dust collection to clean up with the attachments which is a bit of a pain because neither of the two hose ends don’t fit in the storage area of the vacuum so I have to go digging in my toolbox to retrieve the other hose end to switch tasks with the vacuum which is not convenient for quick work.

I usually just use the power tool attachment to clean with which isn’t ideal. Good vacuum, I would purchase again but the Milwaukee engineers need to consider compatibility with their other products and the storage area better.

This is an amazing vacuum, lots of suction, highly portable for job sites. I have recommended this vacuum to many friends and co-workers. The two speed I find is nice for helping make a 5. 0 ah battery last a bit longer if you dont require the high suction for some smaller material pick up.

The problem Im having is that it just kinda stopped working 6 months after buying it! You can flip the switch on and then it just fires right up as normal and then triggers itself off. Kinda like it has a dead battery.

But Ive tried multiple batteries and its the same result. Took the filter off and tried to see if that made a difference and still not go. Thought the hose might have been plugged. Still no go. Same result on high or low speed.

Up until now it has been amazing. I contacted Milwaukee through their customer support online and never heard a word back. I have a very large number of milwaukee tools all have been great but worried about my warranty on all my products if I dont hear back from them over a cheap vacuum.

And by cheap, I have much much more invested in Milwaukee than I want to even think about.

I haven’t had a a problem with mine and Ive used it quite often over the last 9 months or so. Love how it attaches to Packout, makes it easy to transport. I agree with the previous reviews complaining of lack of storage for included accessories.

Seems like a small issue Milwaukee could of resolved (i. e. the vacuum storage bag recently introduced with new shop vac system). Also curious if you’ll be coming out with a hose extension or adapter to be used with the new shop vac series hoses/nozzles/etc? Which, by the way, the battery powered shop vac has got to be the new tool of the year for me.

I get sick of tangled up cords/ terrible cheap casters. Even after “upgrading” casters others, still have issues with cords and overall balance of other brands units. Once again your company solidifies my decision to switch to products years ago, slowly getting the guys at work to fall in line and get rid of any yellow and blue tools they might have and go with red!.

I was confused as to the differences between a dust extractor and a wet/dry vac. (i. e. can a dust extractor be used as a wet/dry vac. ) I also was tired of spending a significant amount of time cleaning up dust after a project.

So I took a chance and ordered this unit. I live in a condo and don’t have the luxury of a dedicated indoor workshop with plumbed dust extraction. The Dewalt 8 gal dust extractor is an extremely well build dust extractor that can also be used as an all around “shop vac”.

The best part about a dust extractor is that is puts out clean air via it HEPA filtration. The dewalt units are great because they connect to virtually every Dewalt tool with a locking twist of the hose end.

You can also solidly attach conventional vacuum attachments to the hose. Finally, the bags on these units are very robust. They attached very securely to the unit and from what I can tell keep the unit insides clean.

The auto thumping feature hopefully prevents from having to clean the filters! Only down side to the unit is that it pulls some noteworthy amperage so, you cannot connect a miter or table saw to the same circuit unless you have a heavy load circuit.

This unit does have the ability to turn on automatically when you power on your supported tool. This feature is great for sanding and especially power planing.

Purchased this with a DWE46125 Dust shroud and DWE4011 grinder. As a remodeler we constantly have to cut into plaster and drywall. The dust issue is obvious. Had tried another brands dust shroud but we could never solve the vacuum hose issues.

Constantly either duct taping the hose connections together or using 2 miles of adapters to make the different hoses connect. I went all in with dust collecotor and grinder all dewalt. The system works perfectly.

(For info on the grinder and vacumn see other reviews. ) Also own a 10 gallon, but I find myself using this one more as it is lighter and easier to carry around. The hose does wrap up on top as well as the cord.

Pros – The vacumn has amazing suction. The thumper really does clean the filters, comes with a fleece bag. Hose has a good length and finally the main reason I purchased was that it locks into my other dewalt tools.

ie; table saw, miter saw any tool with dust collection. Cons-Hose marks up everything, I bring in a drop cloth when using it for finish work and do not use it as a shop vac when on site.

I have had this vacuum for 4 and a half months and feel I can sufficiently rate the tool. The good stuff: I love the length of hose on this thing The wheels roll great and have a wide enough base that it doesn’t tip when you are using it fully extended.

It came a with a fleece bag and two hepa filters It’s fairly light Of course the tool power on/off feature The not so good stuff: There is negligible hose management. It is a stretchy band on a clip that holds the extra long hose in a bundle on one side of the vacuum.

It is an 8 gallon vacuum – they only sell 12 gallon bags to go in it. Such a waste of room in the vacuum body the bag never fills more than 20 – 30% (With the hepa filters in place. ) In four months it has around 10-15 hours on it and less than two using the tool switch.

As of today the tool powered on off switch no longer functions. The vacuum simply stays on when powered on regardless of a tool being used or not. Overall The only thing that would make me buy it again is that it is cheaper than others.

Okay so we love the shop vac because of the fact they have great suction, can be used to soak up water, Or I can use it to blow our deck of any debris and since we have a big house with 8 active teenagers , and 2 dogs theres always some part of our house we are doing some type of repair or deep cleaning and I always use my shop vac.

but after 6years my shop vac broke and so my other half seen how miserable i was he went and brought me another. Except he saw this mini sized one and figured that would work because then i dont have to be lugging the big one around.

BIG MISTAKE! this mini or 2. 5 gallon one is such a dissappointment! first of all the suction sucks i find my self going back and sweeping or using my other vacuum to vacuum over. It smells like its burnt, and I cant even blow an ant off my deck with this! for $40 bucks i couldve just brought me the regular one and i would have been very satisfied! sad to say we brought this in july.

So, how do i use the warranty and is it possible to get the regular one?.

The hose on this thing won’t stay on. Theres NOTHING in the manual that explains in detail how to lock it in and i have looked it over extensively but cannot find a way. You attach it, twist it, push it, nothing works.

Within a few minutes of using it the hose inevitably falls out leading to extreme angry frustration. There look to be little notches that catch but i have tried and they do nothing. I had a cheap $10 wet vac before this that lasted me about 10 years w/o a problem.

No more craftsman products for me. This thing is junk, and to make matters worse it’s impossible to talk to anyone in the company that actually knows the products.

I work in residential property maintenance and I bought this to use for small water spills that tend to occur. It works great for that, and is easy to carry around because of the small size. One unforeseen benefit of this item is the small hose, relative to other wet dry vacs, is great for blowing clear a clogged drain line.

I had a clogged condensate line on a furnace, and I set the vac up to blow and put it over the drain on the furnace side of the line. I was able to blow the blockage out very quickly because the hose is roughly the same size as the drain pipe.

I did the same thing with a washing machine drain that was running slow. I put the hose over the hole and used my hand to create a seal around the top of the drain and blew the blockage out of the way, and then flushed the drain with water.

It worked perfectly and I did not have to use any chemicals or a drain snake. This item is very versatile if you think outside of the box for other ways to take advantage of the features.

I purchased my 14 gallon wet/dry vac model number HD14000 14 US gallon wet/dry vacuum electrical ratings 120 V 10. 5 A 60 Hz recently and I am completely in love. This was no easy task they say the third time’s a charm.

It has an amazing amount of power that’s offered and will literally clean up any mess I could foresee in the future. The power cord is definitely long enough for whatever project you need to complete without the hassle of needing an extension cord, There is no issue with clogging like the two previous ones I purchased and returned beforehand had, comes with every accessory that I needed for various jobs, and the large Size of the gallon is definitely large enough to tackle various kinds of jobs.

I highly recommend this product to anyone and honestly couldn’t be happier with it’s performance.

This vacuum was easy to use, maneuver and even lift and carry when necessary. The cart system works well even on a gravel driveway and the vac pulls around easily by the hose while vacuuming. It is also much less noisy even with the diffuser off than larger vacs.

The floor brush was hard to push, but easy to pull, both me and my wife thought that. The angles seem to be set up for a shorter person, maybe 5 foot. Unfortunately the only big problem was lack of suction.

Even with a brand new filter and the noise diffuser removed it was unable to pull small particles from between the cracks of flooring. With larger particles like wood lathe shavings the hose just plugged up immediately.

This doesn’t happen with my larger 18 gallon, 3 inch hose shop vacuum. Because it was so handy to use I wanted to keep it, but after several trials it just didn’t do the job I needed it to. ACME tools readily accepted the return and provided a full refund in just a few days.

Nope won’t be winning any accolades for being the most powerful. For me personally though the unit’s versatility and convenience help balance it out so for the tasks I wish to accomplish with it should suffice perfectly fine.

Yes went through countless reviews seeing commonalities such as the elusive circuit board failure. Here’s hoping, after 7+ years since DCV581H initial release, Dewalt has addressed such issues to instill a better level of reliability.

I bought the first unit a month ago. After using that one for just one day, it started to shutoff as soon as I turn it on, then stopped turning on all together. I returned the item through Amazon and they sent me a replacement unit.

Same issue with the second unit. Very disappointing as I’ve wasted a lot of valuable time giving this vac shop a chance. I wish I read previous comments before wasting my time as it looks like this is a common issue.

Very disappointing that Delwatt still has these units out there with a major design flaw.

I really love this vacuum for its portability. It is cleaver how they designed the attachments to fit and form into the housing. The crevice tool fits into the handle and the wide nozzle extension accessory is molded into the body.

The added feature is that it has the electric (cord connected) or battery powered option. I can use the vacuum in my vehicles in battery mode truck or in my house cleaning the baseboards. Thanks DeWalt, you really hit a home run with the DEWALT 20V MAX, Wet/Dry Vacuum (DCV581H).

I’ve tried DeWalt Rigid , ShopVac. The only thing ,I would highly recommend ordering the V20 6ah battery. I use this vacuum every day for drywall dust , sawdust and everything that comes along. With the 6ah battery it lasts me throughout the day without draining the battery.

The DeWalt vac lasted literally 3 hours before it broke ( the hose is glued on from the factory ) DeWalt is a hunk of junk. Spend a few bucks more on the 6ah battery and you won’t be disappointed.

I mainly use this for cleaning my vehicles as it’s cordless, no more hassle of dragging a cord around. I have to say that it’s a fantastic Wet/Dry Vac! The battery that I’m using with this is the 4. 0 amp Craftsman 20V.

With this combination, the dirt doesn’t stand a chance. Lots of power and long lasting. The attachments that come with it are great and conveniently located on the Vac so no looking around for attachments, yes even the crevice attachment in the handle.

I get this vac home and on the box is written no battery or charger included. Now that I looked again at the website, I notice in the specifications next to battery “NO” Once again, subjected to exhaustive reading for something that should come complete.

Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand.

Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed.

I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family.

Highly recommended.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI purchased my Shark Rotator Professional Lift away vacuum several years ago when my old vacuum stopped working. It works perfectly yet. I love seeing results and the fact that you can see through the dirt cup filling up with dust and debris brings much satisfaction.

You can hear it picking up literally the smallest crumbs which I also love. It’s lightweight and swivels so smoothly and it’s low profile base gets under the edges of our beds and recliner very easily without using the hose attachment or moving furniture.

The only downfall which isn’t even an issue because I love this vacuum so much is that the cord isn’t retractable. Both filters are incredibly easy to change too which is huge for efficiency and suction power.

The price seemed about average for vacuums I was looking at. If you’re interested in this but the price is too high for you, wait until around black Friday as I’ve seen these for almost $100 off at Kohls.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI bought this off Amazon for $269 roughly a year ago after everyone in a Facebook group suggested I check out the shark vacuums. It works so much better than the cheaper vacuums I’ve always bought from Wal Mart.

This one has lights and the sucking power is strong. You can even adjust the suction power with a dial at the top. I don’t bother using any of the attachments when I use the hose and have no complaints.

It does require filters or filter cleanings and the cup on the front pops off for easy disposal. It could be a better design for the pop off compartment so that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. I always seem to spill just a little when I’m emptying it into the trash.

This vacuum is still going strong and I do recommend it to anyone asking for a great brand. The biggest pro for me is it works on my hardwood floors and my rugs! There’s even an indicator light that flashes red if something had your roller clogged.

This thing is a beast! Im doing a boat restoration and it sucks up anything thrown at it. I also had to go out in a storm the other night to suck up debris in a drainage channel in front of my garage.

It sucked up all the sticks and leaves and had 0 issue with the water as well. All I had to do to drain the water was unscrew the cap at the bottom and was good to go again. If I had any complaint it would be the exhaust blows the same direction as the hose.

I would prefer it blow away from me when Im using it in confined spaces. Otherwise best shop vac Ive ever used and you cant beat the price!.

I bought this for the backyard kitchen. Vacuuming up pellet ashes,floor after a cook, etc. I usually roll my shop vac out to handle this chore, so I thought this would be convenient to leave it there, and park under the counter.

Disappointed in the suction. Wish I could say this thing sucks, but it doesn’t. I have several Porter-Cable tools that I brag on, but not this. It barely pulls the ash out of my Traegar. Thinking about taking the bag out of it to see if that helps.

It still has the filter.

Poor quality. I expected more from Porter Cable. Would have been happier with another brand. It does work, and I needed it to wet vac my basement, or I would’ve returned it. The drain cap doesn’t seal, and it leaks a puddle everywhere it sits.

The attachments that came with are also poor, very flimsy.

I ordered one of these when there were basically 0 reviews to go off of, but I have to say that I am pleased with it. Admittedly it probably shouldn’t be the only vac on your site, but its like any other tool – the application determines the selection.

Where I would consider this vac my number one choice when my 2 gallon 20v/110v vac is also sitting there: 1. when working inside a house or business and just need something to catch dust for drilling into drywall or mounting a computer to a cabinet or something similar 2.

when doing any sort of quick maintenance even changing Hvac filters and you just want to make sure a smooth floor like tile or vct (vinyl composition tiles) are as good as before you started 3. when working somewhere where the vac exhaust would normally blow around other dust and make the situation worse such as a computer room where the dust sticks to servers like a magnet 4.

cleaning up in my kitchen after children at mealtime 5. in a camper This does not hold a great deal of whatever you are taking in, so if you need to pick up say a pile of sawdust or you are drilling concrete or something this is not the right tool for the job.

Don’t expect too much, but its far better than any dirt devil type unit ive ever tried, and also much better than the makita stick vac which I have also tried. It does eat batteries, the 2. 0ah will only get you about 10 min of runtime (guessing) so its annoying enough that I switched the one I have in my house to get the occasional insect and pick up after mealtime to a 4.

0ah so im not having to charge like every other day. I did end up buying a second one to use for commercial maintenance. I also have 2 people in my family that have also bought this model – youre welcome Dewalt.

This vacuum has good suction and decent capacity. It seems best suited as a small projects vacuum to be kept near your pantry, garage, or around your cars. The tube is sized to fit common small diameter shop vacuum hoses and accessories, so it’s nice to not be tied to one proprietary set of fittings.

According to the documentation, the filter needs to be knocked clean and can’t be blown out with an air hose. It sucked up fine wood dust without redistributing it in the air, but emptying the filter was a little of a pain.

It’s compatible with all the DeWalt batteries I have, from 1. 5 to 6 AH. The motor noise is loud, a little louder than my previous cheapo dust buster, but only slightly. Overall I’m quite happy with this vacuum and hope the long term durability justified the price tag.

This unit has decent power and the attachments are clever. However, storing this for quick access is challenging. It will not store upright nor is there a mounting option for this vacuum. I ended up using the belt hanger loop and hanging it off my garage door tracks.

With that being said, I have to remove it every time I need to open my garage. Additionally, I bought the new Ryobi dual roller bar vacuum and it is by far the better unit. Vacuum cleaners are by far the weakest point in the DeWalt tool lineup.

DeWalt should be ashamed of their 20v handhelds and shop vacs. I would not buy this unit again.

I got the Crosswave Max as a splurge birthday present, but I do not like it at all. It is not convenient. Have to assemble before each use, fill with water and their solution (cannot use just water for brush head reasons), then after use have to run the brush clean function and disassemble and clean all the other parts and let them dry.

So you need a dedicated area for all this, just like a full on carpet cleaner. In all that time it takes to assemble and clean up after, I can bend over and pick up or sweep up any of my toddler’s mess AND warm up and use my steam mop.

Going back to the brush cleaning cycle, it does not do much to clean the brush. The brush remains dirty, discoloured, and unless you soak it in detergent for at least 30 minutes with a good rinse after (blue dish soap, or laundry soap, or their solution, etc), it will remain dirty and leaves a lot of streaks and milky film on the floor the next use.

I have darker floors, so it looked disgusting after the wetness dried. I would have to use my steam mop after using the crosswave and the pad would be very gross after, but atleast the floors would finally look good.

It’s also a slow machine to use. You basically wet the floor area going slowly so it’s evenly wet and then have to go over it several times to try to dry it as much as possible. You have to do this section by section.

It would take much too long to do only my kitchen, where I could sweep or vacuum and mop it in half the time. This machine is a great idea in theory, but it is not convenient or efficient and left my floors dirtier than before using it.

The company states the brushes need to be replaced after ten hours of use (I did not use it nearly that long and the brush heads were awful after a short time) and they are not cheap to replace. Also have to use their solution, again not cheap.

For such an expensive device, it requires a lot of additional costs.

I purchased this vacuum back in May/June of 2021 and have had the last 6 months to really use this thing and put it to the test and honestly- I’m not impressed. I’m already way past the return window, so I just wanted to leave a review for others so people can know my personal experience.

It doesn’t have the suction to pull the cleaner/water out of any rugs or carpet I own. So, we are left with wet carpet for hours after using this. It also does not clean the floors properly with the brush.

It’s really just moving dirty water around while only sucking up a small fraction of what I have put down. There are dirty water streaks every time I use this to mop. When using the vacuum dry, the dust and hair clog up the filter within minutes and I have to empty it multiple times while vacuuming, even though the container itself is not nearly full.

I have a long haired cat, and I myself have long hair. Neither of these things have agreed with this vacuum. If you have a cat and plan on vacuuming any cat litter with this- don’t. It will become a large clay litter clump in the suction tube of the vacuum that you have to get out yourself.

It will also leave nasty gray streaks of litter/water on the floor. Additionally, my fallen hair gets so tangled in the spinning brush that I have to cut it off. Honestly, that might not be avoidable or the fault of the vacuum.

My hair also gets caught on the sides of the spinning brush and becomes an unmanageable mess that can’t be removed. This was probably my worst “big purchase” of 2021. If I could return it, I would.

My Husband bought me this two weeks because he thought it was time to upgrade (I have had the same Dyson for almost 15 years; and with yearly maintenance, it still works great!) and I love love love to vacuum!.

I wanted to like it. I really did! We now live in a townhouse with two sets of stairs, hardwood floors, and my original gets heavy carrying it up and down the stairs. Also, the attachments on my old model are worn and “fall off” sometimes while using it.

Things I didn’t like: This is still hard to carry up/down stairs because of its size/length. I had to hold it out front of me or carry it over my head and I’m 5’7. It is quite large and heavy if using to clean the whole house, but the thing I could not get over was there is no on/off switch, it has a trigger.

This was tiring after a few minutes, and does not allow you to change your grip on the vacuum while using. I am sure Dyson has a reason for this, my guess is it has to do with battery life, but keeping my finger squeezed while cleaning the whole house is not an option for me.

Things I really liked: The attachments are amazing, especially the small animal roller brush on furniture with pet hair! It does have power for a cordless and the canister is an improvement over the original model.

I enjoyed the green light and being able to see all the dirty on the floor, but our floors are 1940’s real wood floors, so it was frustrating to see the dirty but also see the vacuum not pick it up. Lastly, as many have mentioned, there is no pile adjuster (on any Dysons) so it did not do well on longer piled rugs.

For the money, I could not justify keeping it and my poor Husband has to pack it up and ship it back. I did look at other models but have concerns about those as well for how I use my vacuum. The ball upright does not allow easy access to under lower furniture without using an attachment, and the canister does not seem to have wheels but is dragged on the floor.

Overall, this did not work for my needs but that is not to say others won’t find it amazing. to each there own. For now, I will continue to use my original Dyson!.

We were excited to find this one on sale, it had much higher horsepower than a smaller one used for years. Since we ordered it online as a Christmas gift for ourselves, we were not aware of how tight or well it went together, & did mot get a chance to use it right away within the 1st 30 days, as 30 days ended before Christmas! 1) It is HUGE, much, much bigger than a larger-capacity one we have of a different brand.

Make sure you have a very large storage place if you buy this one. It is much bigger around than it is tall. 2) Regretfully, when trying to use it, as much dog hair/dirt/soot (still in places from the huge fire near us last summer) blew OUT of it as going in, the two times we tried it-& it didn’t work for the garage any better than our dirty house.

No matter how things were put together, it still has a very large output of whatever dirt you are trying to put in it, blowing all over so it makes it harder to clean afterwards than if you’d just left it or swept it up.

We have not figured out yet, other than a good amount of Duct Tape, how to attach another hose to where the debris pours out, but hope to find something to use soon. This does not work well as a wet/dry yet, I hope I can change my rating after we jerry-rig it to work better.

My wife bought this for me at Lowes in Oct 2020. “Life happened”, so I didn’t get to unbox, or use it until June 2021. At first, I thought it was a great Vac. The hose, cord length, accessories, and detachable blower system were brilliant.

in theory. However, it was poorly constructed with extremely cheap materials making the “Bells & Whistles” moot. I thought “It was just a lemon. All things have that possibility of being a one-off”. But after reading the other reviews, this vacuum should have been recalled, and replaced by Craftsman.

First off. it gets HOT!!! Like “almost catch on fire” hot. The plastic lever that attaches the motor to the surface broke after a couple of uses. The plastic filter support (the plastic cage-like) piece that is under the lid, is poorly designed and falls off too easily.

It will cause the filter to slip out just enough that dust will start to come form the exhaust. So here I am. No warranty, or ability to return it. But I do have a heavily duct-taped vacuum/heater/firestarter bucket with wheels, and it only cost $100!!! (Sarcasm) I was told “You got the wrong Craftsman is all.

” But this one turned me off so much that I’m going to switch brands. There’s no way I can buy another Craftsman shop vacuum and feel like it is worth the $130. So, with a broken vacuum (and soul) it seems that after 20 years of using craftsman tools, I’m finally at the point where it is time to move on.

All things must come to an end, and with a heavy heart, I must walk away. If Craftsman recalled this, and replaced it with a “functional ” vacuum, I’d consider it. But like others here, it seems that I am out of luck.

I bought this vac online one night when it was listed at a price you really CANT beat for a 10 gal 6. 0 peak vac with attachments and filters. i really hadnt had too much experience with the brand i wont lie when it comes to tools or anything that goes in my garage i plan to work with I will typically just spend the difference and go with my fav.

brands like dewalt, makita , Milwaukee. etc. I do alot of different jobs and also hobbies so i tend to be a little hard on tools but for the money i expect the same. as would most people. So seeing the price, the size, the attachments i thought you know what why not? figured if anything i could just take it back.

when i got opened up the box everything looked good the plasitic did feel a little thin but my expectations werent very high from the start. the hose did feel pretty durable and the attatchments were decent.

the wheels did worry me they seemed a little weak and they were but still usuable. when i turned it on i was actually suprised i thought it was going to be annoyingly loud but it wasnt too bad. especially cause i live in a apt! and it was going to be used in car port mostly on my car.

the suction on it was very impressive and i was most impressed when it had sucked up my socket wrench on accident lol. the attatchments all were incredible i washed my seats the carpet basically all the interior and it sucked up literally id say 90 % of the water ! the rest dried ina few hours when i left the doors open and air out.

overall despite the wheels the vac has made some jobs much easier. im definitely please and my expectations were exceeded! so mu h so that iv actually been looking at other products this company puts out.

im anxious to see if the other tools are just as good!.

This is absolutely the best Wet Vac I have ever used and owned. No to mention regular price at Walmart was $100 which is good enough already, BUT I got it on sale for $69!!! Amazing! This has so many different heads for cleaning with like a scrubbing attachment, a squeegee attachment and longer hose attachment.

So you can clean anything from dry to wet surfaces and even detailing anything from inside your home, upholstery, carpet/rugs and cars. The stainless steel design makes it look way more expensive than it actually is and looks so sleek.

Has wheels so it’s very easy to move around while working and cleaning, as well as a nice long handle so you don’t have to pick it up or lift it at all. The best part is when using it as a wet vac it’s near impossible to lift the 8 gallons of liquid it holds to empty it, BUT THIS HAS a cap on the front bottom of the stainless steel bucket.

so when it’s full of water all you have to do to empty the water is unscrew the cap and all the water drains out of it. The suction power with this vac is unlike anything I’ve ever seen, so much power regardless if using it dry or wet! I would recommend buying it from the Walmart app where the price is $69 though because for some reason it will ring up for $100 is purchasing through the actual Walmart store.

This thing is a beast. its only been about a week but it has all attachments i would need i think and they all have a place in fact i think i have room for 1 more. i like it has spring loaded clip to keep the hose tidy and off the ground can also be used on one side if you don’t need the whole hose out The only reason is not getting 5 stars is because the dust bag was putting that in the directions weren’t very cleared the illustration seemed a little off to me on how to set it up so It probably took longer than the entire rest of it because I didn’t want to mess it up and I haven’t delt with/owned a shop vac besides using one.

Just FYI you have the top off you have the base container where the dirt goes the inlet with the curved piping on the inside of the drum you slide the opening of the dirt dust filter over that and then you take the bag in kinda Have a go around the edge of the collection drum so that when you put the top back on the filter there is room in the center for the big filter.

definitely doesn’t say all that just put it on if you want and a iffy illustration. only other complaint was there is a place for everything except the dry or wet vac attachment (depending which you are using ) they clip on the end of a vac end.

A rubber squeegee for wet and brush for dry but no spot i saw or found in book for it so ill put it away or under the hose on the top clip but it was almost perfect. its load lol i was kinda hoping for a little bit quieter for dust collection but it will be hooked to a power tool (will probably still be loaded in most cases) and id rather it be powerful then quiet and it is definitely powerful.

like very much how the attachments connect and disconnect very easy but i felt no air leaking or lose of suction. It is really close in price like 5-10 bucks up or down to the smaller or bigger one but i think the size is fine for me.

could of even went smaller if the power was still there but i like it a lot so far. 9. 5 out of 10 for me. i use it mainly for cleaning up after sanding grinding sharpening and whittling but it will be great for cars.

the cord seems maybe short 8 or 10 feet? idk but i like it because you will need an extension outside in most cases so inside it doesn’t leave a mess of wire when undone and velcro straps away to a hanger on the vac when done.
