20 Best Valheim Graphics Settings (2022 Updated)

I did weeks of review before I opted for this card. I actually bought the PNY1650 Super OC 4gb card in December 2020 for $ 169. 95 to replace a 3-year old RX 580 8gb card. Believe that. I still like the Battlefield gaming experience on the 1650.

But I also built a new computer since then. Decided to buy the ASUS GTX 1660 Super OC EVO 6GB dual fan version. Be honest, I don’t see much of a difference in gaming in the two, except the PNY 1650 was $ 310.

00 cheaper than the inflated price I paid for the 1660. I am not a FPS fanatic in gaming. I read a while back that your eyes can not detect much difference past 60 FPS. So I run my cards at 60 FPS without an issue.

The card runs cooler, and extends the life of the card by not pushing performance. Both cards run quiet. I do not see a difference between the 4gb vs 6gb version also. I suppose you get down to actual measured instrumentation there might be a difference in the numbers.

But my visual perception is that I don’t see a difference. My system is a AsRock Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard with a Ryzen 3600XT CPU and ram at 3600mhz.

I would NEVER in my LIFE recommend this junk. It was a force buy back in 2020. Because there was NOTHING in stock for other Nvidia Cards. Hell. I wish I spent the money and a Radeon 5700x. I didn’t know those cards where good.

But yeah, this 1660 was just a force buy do to lack of stocks for other Nvidia Cards. It’s not a good card, it runs hot while playing some games including playing around in VR. It’s a bad card and now I back to saving money for a better card.

Given everything that’s going on with GPUs as of late, I was glad to find this in stock at MicroCenter. I wasn’t expecting much – it’s a 6GB card after all, but so far I’ve been pleasantly surprised with it.

I’m basically an old-head and only game very casually, and even then only older(ish) titles like GTA V, Witcher 3, etc, but it’s been able to run most everything I play at 1440p medium-high at 70-100fps which is better than I expected.

If it weren’t for the GPU situation I’d have probably been looking at a Quadro, since most of my use for this card is hobby level CAD work, but so far it’s been plenty capable for that. If this card or something similar is all you can find available, give it a shot, you might be able to get by better than you expect.

I will say, if you can only find a card like this at scalper pricing, I’d pass. But I’d say that for any card.

Meant to replace my aging ASUS RX 580, as it had gotten to the point where it blasted its fans while working, even for not very ‘heavy’ games, it is everything I could have hoped for after waiting to invest into this gen.

It has insanely better performance that runs even cooler than its predecessor, while using no real extra power. Cool aesthetics too. It is quiet, and I have yet to hear the fans ramp up to a loud level like the former card did, though I may just lack anything that can push it, which is good.

With AMD Smart Access on, it’s so much more relaxing to not even think about performance, thermals or power when playing. I have a 650 Watt power supply and wondered if that would cause any issues for a card with so much more performance behind it, but that is not the case.

Zero problems.

I ordered the gpu and received it next day! With $30 rebate I was able to purchase at msrp! This gpu is so well built. The overall look is great. Sapphire just makes great cards! The cooler it top notch.

Running r6 siege at 1440 with max setting I was getting 275 fps constant. The temp never got above 62c. No lag or screen tearing at all. It can’t do ray tracing and no dlss but I’m coming from a 1660ti so It’s not a big deal for me.

So for $570 I’m getting performance that better than a 3060ti and around the same as the 3070. (if you don’t factor ray tracing) the $ vs performance is too good to pass up. It has completely changed my gaming experience! Absolutely buy this card if you have been needing an upgrade!.

I built a new computer for casual 1080p gaming in possibly the worst time in history for the graphics card market. I was shopping for nvidia RTX 3060s and the Ti variant and found the prices too inflated to be any value for money at the time of writing.

So, I researched competitors such as the ATI 6600 series and found this particular card. Performance is somewhere between the 3060 and 3060 Ti. Power consumption is also good, and I can get away easily with my 550W PSU with plenty of headroom.

Benchmarks on 3dMark are above average for 1080p gaming, and can run high to ultra settings on most titles at this resolution. Unfortunately, ray tracing is not very good on this card but the technology appears to not be fully adopted in many games yet.

I’m not big on RGB, but the card’s RGB looks great, with the devil logo and the bars providing lighting inside my case, subtly showing off the internals. I find the syncing with the motherboard via the included cable isn’t too reliable (probably due to a lack of software support) so I just control the card’s lighting independently via the Devil Zone software.

This card’s retail price at time of writing is excellent value for money (in relative terms) when considering its performance, features and the competition. Overall, the card is marketed for 1080p gaming.

It does the job excellently for this purpose, and it highly recommend it.

This is probably my favourite GPU that I’ve owned so far. The construction is incredible, the backplate and some of the shroud are metal which gives a really premium feel and great thermals too. It also looks incredible, the red RGB already matched my setup but it can easily be changed.

The performance was a real surprise, based on how it was reviewed I expected slightly less but it’s surpassed all my expectations quite considerably. I’d also personally consider it a 1440p card in most instances as opposed to a 1080p one.

It plays GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, Far Cry 6 etc at high+ 1440p with no trouble at all and even plays Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p medium with an average of a bit over 60. So definitely a good performer and possible should have been marketed as a 1440p card by AMD as that to me would be more accurate of it’s performance than 1080p is.

It never goes over low to mid 70’s in temps which is incredible in a small case with an air cooled R5 3600. As for price to performance while GPU prices are on the higher end at the moment, this was priced (on sale) at almost the same price I paid for a RTX 2070 at launch back in 2018 and performs within around 5% of that, but with better architecture and driver support of course.

So to me price to performance is excellent, yes they cost more than at launch but I’m personally happy to pay similar price for similar performance as I was back in 2018 when I got a 2070. I can 100% recommend this card, not only does the RX 6600 XT perform excellently but this specific model is the most premium feeling and looking card I’ve personally owned, and in a bigger case with more fans you’d see even better thermals than I did, which were already fantastic to begin with.

I was running a Gigabyte RX580 Gaming 8G and honestly, I was a little esscared that this card wouldn’t be very much of an upgrade. WRONG! This card is a fierce performer. It gives me perfect, creamy-smooth performance on my PCSX2 V1.

7. 0-dev-125-ge0111195a PS2 emulator. 4K like warm butter, but keep in mind that the emulator uses a frame limiter, so my constant framerate is 59. 94fps. That said, WOW, what a great card! I have it in an otherwise stock Lenovo P-300 with an E3-1245 V3 running things and 32Gb of Kingston Hyper-X Beast RAM (heh, I can’t run either of the memory’s XMP profiles on this MoBo).

I also tested this card on an MSI Z590-A PRO with thee 11600 Kilo Foxtrot unit and 32GB of Crucial 3200 CL22 DDR4 and it was spectacular. I bought the GPU Combo, so this card came with an ASROCK B560 Steel Legend Board, which I’m very happy with.

You can’t go wrong this this card, it’s super sweet! I think Newegg is doing a very good job trying to provide their custies with the best deals in these insane times. The Combo deals are great, the Shuffle is great and if you search the site regularly, Newegg will have great deals on very good cards popping up.

I got a great deal on an ASUS TUF Gaming GTX1650 for $269 & it was $100 to $250 less than what was generally available. It’s a great card & was very happy to get one at that price. I’ve been shopping here for over 20 years, Newegg’s always been based.

TL;DR: Buy this product if it is in stock and if you need a graphics card because it is amazing, but don’t fear if you don’t get it for AMD and Nvidia’s new offerings in Q 1/2 of 2021, may provide the gpu that could be a better fit for you.

I got this product after refreshing the page many times on launch day and was one of the few souls who got it, I wish luck to the others who are trying to get it. Firstly, I use a egpu (external Graphics Card Unit) when I game because of my personal situation, and I was able to get it up and running within a few minutes.

All of my games are amazing compared to my previous card (gtx 960) and I was able to play Battlefield 1/V, Fallout 4/76, Skyrim SE, GTA V, and RDR2 all at 60 fps+ on 4k High/Ultra settings with 1% lies in the low 50s fps at worse (RDR2 during a pretty strenuous scene) and 0.

1% lows in the high 40s fps (also in RDR2). But please remember, even with my relatively good egpu set up, it normally gets no more than 80-95% then what you get in desktop, so your milage may very. Thermals: It never got more than 72°C in my 1 hour stress test in unigen heaven with the very quiet stock fan curve that got to no more than 41%.

The physical card is simply beautiful and it seems to use all of the metal as a heat sink and (don’t touch the card at home, I was just curious for this review) gets quite uncomfortably hot, so don’t touch your graphics card while it’s in usage even though that should be obvious because it is a computer part.

It admittedly warmed up my room by about 1°C with room set at 21°C to 22°C after about 5 hours of continuous usage (along with my 25w laptop and my smaller bedroom, this is an uncontrolled variable but is interesting nontheless).

The airflow and cooling for the card is outstanding considering it is a 200w card and is smaller than my evga twin fan edition of my previous gtx 960. Great stuff! Overclocking: With there being quite a bit of thermal head room, I felt confident in the cards ability to I overclock, and I was right.

I was able to oc it with the core at 2085 mhz (+150 cc) and it was stable during my 2 hour stress test of me playing GTA V story mode. I was able to get it to 2110 mhz (+175 cc), but it was a tad unstable if it stayed there, and would normally fall back down to 2085 automatically in order to not crash.

With the memory clock I was able to get a +1400mhz on the memory and it remained stable and there was no artifacting after that same stress test on GTA V. Ii was able to get about 3%-12% fps performance gains, which is astounding, but the average was more like 6.

5-8. 5% fps gain. With the stock fan curve and with these overclocking settings, it got to 54% fan speed at 79°C, and with my manual fan speed setting of 72% it sat at 75°C. I would suggest using the auto curve if you are a bit sensitive to noise, but if you’re fine with a little bit of fan noise, I would suggest raising the fan speed slightly higher like I did.

Overall, it’s very impressive from my perspective. Note that overclocking may void manufacturer warranty on some products and may not give same results, so use at your own risk. DLSS and RTX: I really only play one game that uses either that I care to use and that is rtx minecraft which works perfectly at 4k ~55-60fps and looks stunning.

It uses DLSS for the performance gains of from what I can tell of about 15-20+ fps to make it go from playable to very useable. DLSS at this point seems to be very a future oriented technology which is nice, because it gives me some more hope that I will be able to use the 3060ti for longer than I would otherwise.

But, right now it is still a very impressive technology. Overall: This is a great product for $400 and although a bit more vram would have been nice, for $400 there is no question that this is an absolute buy.

Although the review shenanigans that occurred around this launch were quite suspect, this product is still very good and I recommend buying this model or any other 3060ti model if it is under $430. RTX in my eyes is still in it’s infancy, but very much a product to be used, and DLSS along with Nvidia broadcast is also amazing.

Best Buy pickup was fine and they got it too me a day later than expected, but they brought it out my car within a few minutes when I did go to pick it up. Thanks for my long ramble, and I wish you luck on getting this card, or any card for a good price this holiday season.

Packaging is gorgeous. It feels like you purchased jewelry! Gpu feels very sturdy and well made. Backplate makes her sit very snuggly in the case without any flex or movement; very solid. 12-pin adapter is a very silly idea and makes for a clunky looking connection.

Not very fond of it at all! Performance is fantastic and pretty quiet operation. I cannot hear it behind the noise of my watercooler. Connections on the back are good and having one HDMI port is appreciated, given the rest of them are display ports.

Temperatures stay in the low 60s, while heavy operations cause it to climb towards 70°C. Having a price tag of 350usd would have made it golden, but oh, nvidia.

After watching a series of videos on upgrading Optiplex-series of computer for gaming, I bought this card to pair with my i5 4690 and i7 4790K CPUs. It is well built and solid. So far the results are great.

With the upgraded VRAM speed (14Gbps from 12Gbps) the bandwidth has increased from 288 to 336 GB/s (same as the GTX 1660 Super). I’m not sure if any other company has similarly upgraded one of their GTX 1660 Ti models.

The overclocking so far has gone well but I still need to properly ventilate the Dell Optiplex chassis before I make the adjustments permanent. Overall a great card!.

Highly recommend this card. Run’s virtually silent. Pushes 4k content with ease. Warthunder look’s spectacular.

Ordered the GTX 1660 Ti for a new build, and couldn’t be more impressed for the price. Mainly run Destiny 2 so far, but can easily handle 1080p 60 fps at ultra settings, and can even manage 4k60 with some careful adjustments to quality.

My GTX 970 finally died after 8 years of service (may it Rest In Peace), and I managed to find one of these little guys at 2/3rds the cost of what I would have had to pay if I’d bought it off of Amazon.

I say “little guy”, but honestly this card runs like a dream compared to my old card. I can run so many of the games I played at frame rates and levels of detail that wouldn’t have been possible on my old setup.

If you can find this card at a decent price, I highly recommend it.

I recently purchased this to replace my 1050 Ti, and I must say if you follow the instructions you will be satisfied. It was a very easy process for me to switch out (even for a senior citizen who is moderately tech savy).

Huge difference especially in VR. I would strongly recommend this product, and will monitor its lifespan!.

The 1650 Super is a passable card for gaming. Obviously, as of 2021, if you’re looking for a GPU on eBay, God help you son. Desperation is a stinky cologne, but the 1650Su is probably about as low as you want to go for a new card, depending on the kind of system you’re building.

If you’re considering this card for gaming, then either you’re building a lower-end PC, or you’re looking to buy the the cheapest option that won’t make your eyes bleed just to get your rig running until you can scrounge up the ransom to pay off a scalper for a 3000 series.

In that case, there’s not many worse choices than the 1650Su, assuming you can’t also find a used 2060 or a 1080, or maybe even a 980Ti. A 1650Su should be able to play most games at 1080p on Medium.

It’s also pretty low power at 75W, so it should be able to work in just about any system with a single GPU power plug available. That might be it’s biggest advantage as far a gaming card- while a 1080Ti might perform better, a 1650Su is less power, less heat, and more quiet.

But gaming’s not why you’d want to buy this card. And, no, the answer isn’t mining. TRANSCODING. If you have a media server, forget the T1000, forget the P2000, forget the 2060. This is a transcoding powerhouse.

Of course it’s got NVENC, but unlike a vanilla 1650, it’s got the Turing NVENC chip. But unlike a Tx00 series, this is cheaper and easier to find, and I think it still performs better. With a little tweaking, this can transcode as many 1080 streams you can throw at it, at pretty much any bitrate.

I’ve also seen it do 4k without a sweat. The only downside, it can’t do 10-bit, but I think that’s an NVENC limitation in general. So bottom line, this is a okay budget/low end gaming card, but an absolute unit for Plex servers.

It works well, and provides good performance at 1080p. Id say it performs about in line with a RX580, or thereabouts. It is quite powerefficient as the 1650 Super generally is. Its a nice, compact card and ought to fit in virtually any case, although it is fullheight.

It looks pretty plain with not even a plastic backplate amp no RGB just a single flashing light. Its quite reasonably priced, but there is a big but. The cooler is extremely basic and comes with 2 small fans that spin quite rapidly at a minimum of 35 speed, with apparently only basic speed controls.

As it is this is a noisy card by todays standards, I can always hear it over my case fan even at idle and as its a pair of small fans spinning quite fast, so its quite a noticeable whirring sound at idle and gets noisy fast as it heats up.

Which it does quite quickly as this is a superbasic cooler with no heatpipes or anything, which probably contributes to its compactness and cheapness. Zotac clearly know its pretty poor and have hardlimited the card to 100 watts, which limits performance as it hits TDP before it hits maximum clock speed.

Honestly if you want a supercompact 1650 super and dont mind a racket, maybe its fine for the price. If youre only gaming on it and dont mind a little noise, fine. But if you want to do other things when youre not gaming and work somewhere quiet, it might drive you to distraction and you should spend a little more for a better cooler, as this one is barely adequate for the job and should never have been fitted with twin fans, which just make it more annoying to listen to.

A single, large fan would be more efficient.

I purchased this card to be the very last upgrade on my older system. I did not actually “need” to upgrade with the games I play currently, but I decided to build my kid another computer, and decided using a hand me down card would work best for both of us.

Am able now to really max out ultra settings on GTA 5, and there is now much less overall stutter. It wasn’t a problem before, but now I do not even notice it at all. Was able to increase my graphic settings on TABS too.

I did a lot of research to find the best possible graphics card for my system so I do not create any stuttering bottlenecks, and the 1650 super, on paper, was about at high as I could go. I’m running an I5 3570K at 4.

5 ghz with 16 gigs ram (1866), and indeed this card fits it like it was meant for this system. Even when I overclock the GPU with a moderate overclock, I begin to notice a slight stutter. This is happening because my CPU begins to bottleneck the card.

Anything over about +25 clock from afterburner, and I begin to see a bottleneck. Right out of the box, this card is an exact fit for anyone else running a similar situation. (Keep in mind my CPU is also overclocked).

I went from a gtx 770 AMP, to this 1650 super. There is a huge upgrade on the ram as the 770 I was running only 2 gigs. And overall, I went from high settings to ultra settings by changing the card for the games I play, and now having a card much more capable of playing any newer titles I get into.

Simply been a fantastic upgrade for my system, so it can gets its last kicks in style!.

Excellent product, fast delivery. I bought an ASUS M32 series and right out of the box, this desktop would cut off like 10-12 times a day right in the middle of my work. Or it would simply freeze and had to be turned off.

I almost threw the thing out the window, except I just bought it. There was no software update and no help from ASUS Tech. Finally, I read a forum where many people had the same problem. After trying 20 other software fixes, none of which worked, one guy wrote that the addition of this card 100% solved the shutting down/freeze issue.

I bought the card, installed it and NOW I have no issues at all. The powerful card, that had a cheap price, solved the problem and now I love my new ASUS M32. If your ASUS desktop freezes or turns itself off, it’s an issue with the graphics.

Get yourself one of these littel boards and all your problems will be instantly fixed. (well, all your PC problems) Thank you for the fix. Carl.

First off, this is NOT a gaming video card. But, when paired with an AMD APU in dual graphics mode, the results are impressive. I put this in my living room computer for HD video and light gaming. I paired it with an AMD A10-7700K processor in dual graphics mode and it gets 70+ fps in games like Sleeping Dogs and the Batman series.

Great for casual gaming, especially considering you can get both the A10-7700k and the r7 240 for about $150 on sale. In dual graphics mode, this is a decent little card. Just remember that a mid-range video card like an r7 360 (for about $110) will run circles around this card, even in dual graphics mode.

Got this card to replace an old outdated Nvidia card. I installed it without any trouble. Went to install the software from the disk and the display drivers didn’t DL. So my system didn’t read the card.

I have Windows Vista so I double checked to make sure it was supported by the card. Right on the box it says Windows Vista. Along with XP, 7, 8, etc. So I figured maybe the disk had bad drivers. I went to the Asus site to DL new drivers.

They had them for everything but Vista. Same with a couple other sites. No go. So I went to AMD and DLed the display drivers for Vista and viola! Card works fine. So if you’re buying this card and have Vista, don’t even bother DLing the drivers from the disk.

Go right to AMD and get them. Save yourself the headache of the dreaded Code 10 error. Just DL the other programs like GPU Tweak from the disk. It allows you to DL them without having to DL the drivers.

Other than that minor glitch the card works great and I would recommend it as an upgrade to outdated cards.

I am astonished at what this card is capable of. Even my high expectations of what a premium priced, 30-series RTX GPU could deliver were exceeded. EVGA delivers not only some of the best enthusiast features, but does so while seriously undercutting it’s competition.

When I walked in to buy my card, it was $500 less than the 3080ti sitting next to it. This is not at the expense of any quality or feature, but simply an economic effect. For once, the market leans in our favor.

The overclocking on this card essentially nullifies any advantages that the 3090 FE has over the 3080ti FE. The cooler is about as good as it gets for the kind of power/voltage that EVGA is putting through this card.

I wish EVGA were more aggressive with their default fan curves, but these are simple to customize. I saw moderate reductions in temps by increasing the fan speed in the 70-80C range, which is where this card operates during gaming.

I personally believe that this card is even overkill for 1440p. I decided to pair it with a 4k 144hz M28U, and I’m glad I did. I would feel bottlenecked with a 1440p monitor. Not only because this card is an absolute beast, but because DLSS will make up for any discrepancy between your FPS and screen refresh rate, if there is one.

As for really intensive titles, I’d especially argue for 4k. It’s truly a sight to behold when this card makes quick work of games you have only dreamed of. For a single component in your build, the price is hard to swallow.

But I will say this: in this GPU market, this is AS GOOD AS IT GETS. Brand new, from a revered retailer, who is pricing it with little to no inflation attached. Like I said, competing cards from other AIBs are inflated by $500 on the same shelf.

I’m expecting this card to take me through this decade, so all things considered, it’s a pretty good deal.

The 3080 Ti is Gen 4 pinnacle performance. You literally can’t do better with consumer based graphics cards without going (waiting for) Gen 5 (ie. PCI-e 5. 0). I bought this card for gaming and on the most intense and demanding game I play (Cyperpunk 2077), I was able to get consistent 63 FPS @ 1440p with all settings maxed out completely.

An impressive feat considering my last card had an FPS in the 20’s under the same settings/conditions. Now I can finally play it. Not every game though is as demanding as Cyberpunk 2077. Everything else I game with this card pushes close to 200 FPS.

Fantastic performance. Good thing I paired this card with a 240Hz monitor. If you want the very best Generation 4 has to offer, this card is your ticket to updating to the highest current standards. There is no such thing as “future proofing” so don’t buy this card for that.

Nothing is future proof. The graphics card is the one & only computer part I’d recommend over-spending on, and if you can find a way to afford it, buy a 3080 Ti. And heck, at the time of me writing this review, Microcenter is selling for UNDER MSRP.

Incredible.

OK, so the price right now is going to put a lot of people off (£1600 at time of purchase), but compared to other 3080Ti cards, this is a decent price for a water-cooled card, but stress “in comparison to” other 3080Ti cards.

I’ve seen some really chunky air cooled cards that are going for a lot more than this. The installation instructions are really bare bones (most of the insert being taken up with other languages), so take your time with it and get the cabling right.

I still don’t know why manufacturers can’t run the all lights and fans direct from the card (I am guessing so the RPMs can be monitored). A single USB cable would have been a much better and tidier option than the breakouts on this for the fans if it can’t all be done over the PCI-E slot.

You will need to pay attention to the instructions which say to put the 240 radiator above the card – this may conflict with any existing water cooling gear you’ve got. I have a 360 rad for my CPU that had to be relocated to the front of the case – it literally took me over 5 hours to get case re-wired and everything done properly, so plan this in if you have to move anything.

The card isn’t silent, you are going to hear some fan noise depending on how hard it’s being pushed, but it’s not intrusive and not something I generally hear as I play with headphones on anyway. At the desktop it’s completely silent.

Because of the water-cooling, it was pushing some really high boost clocks, up to 1965MHz, even higher than the 1800MHz it’s rated for. The Precision-X software can be made to lock the boost in should you have a need – I haven’t had a need so have saved some temps and watts can be saved by not doing this.

The card is driving a 60Hz 4K panel and there’s not much it can’t run at 60FPS, with a tweak in DLSS (where supported) here and there with everything dialled up. Played Control, Cyberpunk 2077, Division 2 – all smooth with settings pretty much maxed out and looking gorgeous.

Moved on up from a 290X so this is a big change for me. I like that you can purchase an extended warranty direct with EVGA for not too much (~£30) to add an extra couple years onto the 3 years. Yes, for the money it should have come as standard with it, but it’s now covered for expected life of the card.

The LEDs for me are a nice touch, they complement the other kit I have, but can also be turned off if you prefer. There are a few different choices in the, rainbow/breath etc. to choose from. Ensure you install the Precision-X software as that’s the way to get the BIOS updated – it had an out of the box required install and a week later another BIOS came along (not sure what for, but suspect Amazon had something to do with it.

) Highly recommended card – it is basically a water cooled 3090 with half the RAM and an exceptional boost available.

This 1660 Ti has so far handled everything I have thrown at it in terms of games and graphics. I consistently get 60-70+ fps on games, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, GTA, Halo Infinite, Cyberpunk. I also love how compact it is, as it sits nicely in my case and doesn’t add too much weight or bulk.

I bought this to stream our church services via OBS. NVENC works flawlessly on here and the card is more than capable for the rest of the tasks on our streaming machine. Bulletproof plug & play option.

Perfect for what we needed.

This is a high-end card from around 2004 and supports DirectX 9. 0b. It easily plays most 3D based games from around that time. Personally the most demanding games I’ve played using it are AOE 3 and NFS: Most Wanted.

It works well with WinXP Pro SP3. Drivers for the card can be easily downloaded from the AMD/ATI website. VIVO is an additional, useful feature that is included on some cards. You can tell if you have it, if there is an ATI Rage Theater chip on the back of the card and if there is a mini-DIN connector instead of S-Video on the slot.

You also need the proper cables. It’s useful for recording old analog video (VCR, Camcorders, etc. ) on to your computer. ATI MMC can be downloaded from the AMD/ATI website to use this feature. A common problem with old, used video cards is the state of the cooling fan.

Mine was making loud grinding and clicking sounds when I received it. I opted to lubricate and clean the fan, which helped a lot. Buying a new fan would probably be better, but these fans are very hard to find.

The only other nuisance I’ve found was the inability to properly capture digitally mastered VHS tapes. The sound worked flawlessly, but the video would become stuck on a frame after a few seconds of play time.

I’ve also had this problem with the ATI HD Wonder 600 USB, so this problem might be originated from another component. Overall, the performance of the card is top-notch when used in the proper situations.

For me, it was a great upgrade from an old MSI Radeon RX9250.

This is a good card for old computers which are stuck with AGP and doesn’t have a fast enough processor for faster videocards like the Radeon HD 3850 or Radeon HD 4650. Image quality is fantastic, low power usage and heat dissipation and works well on Windows 7, able to play most DX9 games on medium settings along with an old Pentium 4 Northwood 2.

80GHz. My only issue here is that the OpenGL driver under Windows 7 is broken, period. No games will run on OpenGL under Windows 7 32-Bit SP1, I tried several drivers and tricks with no avail. I don’t know if its related to the fact that a GeForce was used previously on that PC, but I deleted all nVidia related files, used Driver Sweeper, with no avail.

Overall, it is a fine card for Windows 7 and DirectX, if you want to use OpenGL look somewhere else.

I have been using ATI graphic cards for many years. When my old one in my desk top started acting up, I decided it was time to upgrade. Most of my computers are old technology or legacy as some call them, but they work fine for my needs and the parts are usually pretty cheap/inexpensive.

I have had problems recently finding older AGP cards and when this card came up on eBay I went for it. It has both a VGA and DVI output. It also came with the original disk of drivers so that solved a group of problems.

There is a multi-pin output between the VGA and DVI ports that I have no clue what or how it connects. The only bad thing about this card is that it is old, and as I said or hinted above did not come with a cable for the multi-pin port between the VGA & DVI outputs.

There is no mention in the manual either. The card has been running now for several months now with no problems.

This is as what most reviewers and benchmarks show — the best budget card on the market — with fast DDR6 memory and stream processors, this card can game and stream on twitch for players first starting out or that want to dabble in that.

It can even play COD at 60FPS on medium settings and we all know how resource heavy that game is. It can play all the demanding titles at 1080P medium settings at 60fps and competitive games over 144fps.

If this is your first GPU and you’re on a budget and you just want to play in 1080p. This is your card. Hands down. No question. It’s got most of the recent Nvidia tech so you benefit off of it over using the older GTX models like the 1060.

I ordered this online with a 650w PSU Combo during the black friday week. I bought this card as part of a new build to get into VR (Samsung Odyssey +). I was overseas and was only able to install and test it mid December.

VR and pancake games all ran great. Unfortunately only after about a week, I started noticing subtle artifacts in a highly modded Skyrim. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting the ENB thinking it was the culprit.

It got worse the next day even without ENB and even after reverting to vanilla, I tested other games and they were stuttering and crashing. On about the 3rd or 4th day after the first issues began it got to a point where games and 3dmark would begin showing artifacts within seconds of launching, would stutter and either crash or freeze.

Since I was 2 days past the 30 day mark of buying from Newegg I contacted EVGA, they were friendly enough and it was a quick and pleasant experience working with them. At their recommendation I tried another PSU and validated it was the GPU.

They gave me a ticket to request an RMA number which I began. But after I realized that I would be getting a refurbished product AND would need to pay for shipping, I decided to give Newegg a try despite the +30 day.

I lucked out that they have extended return days for the holidays, which allowed me to request a replacement. I’m still anxiously awaiting for it after sending it back last week, due to the holidays though, I’m not anticipating getting it till probably after new years.

Anyways, my suggestion to anyone that buys this is to benchmark it. Get 3dmark and run their different demos, try out games that put some stress on it to hopefully identify if its a bad card. The XC Ultra has a massive heatsink and quality fans and even in the older less demanding games it failed.

I did not overclock it at all nor run intensive games in 4k. My 7 year old 7970s are keeping me afloat with a PC until I get this thing back, unfortunately no VR 🙁 I’m still going to give this another shot and I want to make it clear that I’m not unhappy with EVGA.

It appears the RTX line from all vendors and makes are having issues. I appreciate their overclocking policy (go check it out!) even though I don’t plan on OC’ing this. It does give me tremendous confidence that their products will run a long time under factory settings.

I had a GeForce 440 that i bought when i was like 13 after saving for months and it was solid. Not too happy with having to pay for shipping or get a refund for a product that only ran a week though.

I’m hoping I got a fluke and the replacement runs solid, I’m definitely going to push it the first two weeks of owning it to hopefully identify if its good or not. If it fails me too, I’ll probably seek out a 1080 if I can find one or hold off for more info on the upcoming AMD cards which seem promising.

First thing first, delivery and shipment were incredible fast. The newegg express eggsaver works perfectly. i made the order on tuesday by midnight, the card arrived by thursday morning (less than 2 days later), consider that i live in Chile!! The packaging was very well built, had no problems at all.

I was a little skeptical about the delivery, because i was told that the card could be held on custom, but i didn´t happen in the end. About the card itself, i come from a marvelous experience with a GTX 980 SC ACX2.

0, that is still performing strong and i wanted finally to step up to 4K gaming because i had the money. I knew that i had to be on the enthusiast range, and on the red side there´s no a real support on Ray Tracing and not enough horsepower to display 4K gaming on the 60FPS range or more, at full-ultra settings , sooo i looked closely on the older brother; the RTX 2080, but then came the refresh for 2060s-2070s and this model was just announced, so i waited until i could buy it.

There are some models here on my country, but not this one, so i decided to bought it here because i feel in my case given the models vs how much they cost and my previous experience with EVGA, that this was my best bet, like some say, best bang for my buck.

What i don´t fully understand is the fact that big part of the community says or recommend that the right GPU to use on 4K is the 2080ti. This card is 17% faster than the 1080ti according to Tomshardware (which is already a good card to start on 4k gaming BTW), am just beggining my experience with this card, so go figure what may happen in the future for me, but games like Control plays really well on 4K on max settings with this card (see pros for detalis), so i expect that trend to last for a few years at least on the vast majority of games to come, including more RT features too, so i think you DONT NEED to spend 1200+ USD on a 2080 ti to see this level of performance, and That´s a fact (at least for now).

So far, am very happy with the card, as long as it has the built quality that EVGA is known for, i guess should not have a problem. EDITED the whole review, to acknowledge the whole experience now almost 2 months later of normal use.

Not only do they speak in a reasonable version of English I am likely to understand as a North American – I know they are knowledgeable about their items, and at every contact I have had with them they evince an intelligent, patient effort to help while knowing when NOT to waste my time or theirs.

Regarding the RTX series Card from NVIDIA RTX is useful to perhaps 1 to 2% of the potential customer base at the moment given the restrictions of being able to game with ray tracing in real time at some of the blistering speeds it needs to be done at not to hold up rendering.

As a step up in performance other than that, it is as advertised. Looking at some of the comparative data from testing, it was worth the nickel – and with the X1 Precision program handling fan profiles and so forth, the card performs quietly, coolly, reliably.

Regarding Newegg I am averse to risk. That is the reason I use Newegg. Like EVGA, Asus, and Thermaltake, usually they have the best values, and in the few cases where they don’t by a few dollars – I can say over the last 20 years, the pittance saved has never been worth the risk.

G Sync with ‘Compatible’ Monitors. Worked with the one we use in the builds listed pretty well with the new drivers current at the time of this writing. You may have to play around with some of the setting/options depending on your specific hardware or the specific program – we were generally pretty happy.

I would definitely recommend this GPU to anyone looking for a decent upgrade from an older GPU. I’m personally coming from 2 – Maxwell GTX Titan X in SLI. I’m a hardcore gamer (since the 80’s) and old-school overclocking enthusiast (since late 90’s early 2000’s).

This GPU out of the box blows away my heavily OC’d Maxwell Titans(50% OC @1500Mhz). I’m still waiting on my GPU waterblock to get here before I start getting into all that. But for now, straight out of the box, this GPU is boosting to 2050Mhz under demanding load and regularly sitting around 1950Mhz under average gaming.

Which isn’t bad at all. I did create a custom fan profile. As I’m not used to seeing temps above 35c under water. Out of the box this thing was idling about 50c and hitting 63c under load with ambient room temp being 22.

2c (72f). I applied the custom fan profile and it started idling at 29c while hitting 58c under load. I generally will not buy Factory OC’d GPUs, as I like to add a waterblock and custom bios/OC/Volt mod everything myself.

However, since these cards are in such high demand and this was the only card available. Its mine now. Good luck to everyone else searching. Was definitely worth it for me. Edit March 7th, 2022 – I put aq Bykski waterblock on this GPU within a couple weeks of purchase.

Temps stay below 38c at all times. (Mo-Ra3 radiator is used with it and my CPU). I’ve had absolutely no issue with this GPU to date.

Bought for $799 – replaces $699 (2017 new purchased) GTX 1080 Ti In short, this is installed in an 8-year-old 4790K Gigabyte GA-Z97-X Gaming G1 board, 32GB DDR3 2800MHz RAM, 1440p 165Hz monitor, WIN10 system.

My graphics run smoother. Not that they were stuttering or hitching but now looks and “feels” more fluid. FPS bump, with settings maxed on any title average is 20+. With DLSS titles, significantly more.

I dont see FPS below 120 in anything I play, but am sure with the right title and maxed settings, my rig would struggle to do so. With custom fan curve (without fans running at 100%) the card hangs around 65*c max inside a TT Spedo Advance full-tower case.

This case has high-air flow; 8 case fans + 2 AIO + 2 RAM fans. Performance vs. GTX 1080 Ti. No comparison, especially when DLSS is enabled. Multiplayer competition level bar risen SIGNIFICANTLY! Can’t say enough about that.

When you factor in that I only paid $100 more five years later for this RTX 3080 12G upgrade with an inflation rate at 9. 1% (06/22) it was a beast of a deal! Highly recommend over the 10G and save $ over the Ti version.

Absolute beast of a card, is doing okay heatwise in my case even though I haven’t tried undervolting it yet. Be aware the card is ridiculously huge – it dwarfs the 2070 Super I upgraded from, which is itself a huge card.

Make sure it will fit in your case before buying it. One other caveat – the card wouldn’t output video until I adjusted my BIOS to use PCIe Gen 3 – the “auto” setting was confusing matters. If the card won’t display then make sure to check your BIOS settings for PCIe generation.

Knocking a star off “ease of use” even though it was a motherboard issue because it would be easy to think the card was defective if you didn’t know the PCIe BIOS setting as a possible issue. This is the most powerful video card I’ve ever owned, and it is very, very impressive.

Handles Cyberpunk 2077 like a dream with most of the bells and whistles on and runs smooth as silk. Very good card that I got at a great price. I wish it was easier to turn off the RGB logo, but that’s a small complaint.

I purchased this ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce GTX 1650 for an AMD Ryzen Linux Mint system I was building. The 2D performance was decent though never breathtaking. When playing simple 3D game titles like Minecraft, the card would work fine for about thirty minutes, then would hit some wall and it was stutter-city after that (maybe five FPS or less).

Because I don’t run Windows at home, I got tired of the unreliable Linux support and sold it.

Waited a LONG time for this. Saved for years! For my purposes, 3D rendering, the number of CUDA cores was more important than the VRAM. Everyone in the 3D forums I visited was saying you need tons of RAM for scene size.

I’m not interested in massive scenes. I am not greatly experienced in 3D because my older machine wasn’t built to handle the job. But I have studied this for years. My first few rendering attempts so far with this card have been fantastic, suggesting I’m not wrong with the path I’m on here.

This card easily handles large, not massive scenes, and there are tools & tricks to lessen scene size without losing image quality. My goal, tho, is speed of render, and so far this card has proven it’s super fast.

I should be able to create, for example, high quality animations, by rendering frames under a minute long each. Much shorter if I composite lower-resolution mid and background elements under more complex hi-quality forground action.

As far as i can tell, this is exactly the card I need. I’m still learning, but thrilled at what I’m seeing so far!!.

Incredible card. This thing looks, overclocks, and performs like nothing I’ve ever seen or used. I’ve got it running at + 125 core, +920 memory which puts it over 1TB of bandwidth. Run my overclocks 24-7.

Temps are incredible if you know how to build a PC the right way and have your static pressure setup correctly in a full tower with fan locations and directions. I game in 4K @144hz and at my overclocks, I’m easily outperforming all stock and aftermarket factory-OC 3090 models in all games at 4K.

4080Ti and 4090 will need to create a massive gap between generations for me to jump away from this card. Dont get one for stock speeds and benchmarks you are watching. Get one because this thing will overclock like nothing ever has out of the box and you will get a massive increase in performance over what you’ve seen.

Incredible tech.

Pros: It fits in the NUC, good fans on it, I’m using it for video editing not gaming so I cannot really comment on continuous use over 9 hours. But it doesn’t overheat. The software control package works with Win 11 and gives all the control I need.

Cons: No.

The ad for this was received. Couldn’t believe it. Faster and more features for less expense than the one I was shopping for. Just hyper that they would sell out before I could get down there. Got the last one that day.

Micro Centers specials beat everyone else.

Like other reviewers, I’m not into gaming so striving for top-end performance wasn’t my objective. I mainly just wanted something/anything that would give me better performance than the integrated CPU graphics.

I also wanted something with two Display Port connectors so that I could drive my non-HDMI displays without any adapter cables. I wanted something that would run quiet most of the time, and this fits the bill.

I believe the fans don’t even run at idle. No regrets so far.

I had my 7790 card for about 3 or 4 weeks. Very simple to install and take out. I had a geforce gt 220 for 2 years it played BF3 low graphics and really low resolution Only getting 40 to 50 frames. Using this card i can play BF4 on Medium and 1080 resolution getting 40 to 50 frames per second.

Best performance for the price , unless you look into buying a gtx 650 TI boost for average of 10 more frames but cost over 40 dollars difference. Overall best card for the price unless your willing to spend a little more for a gtx 650 TI boost.

I recommend getting this card for your first Build. This card also have special drivers for It.

A great upgrade form my old Zotac GeForce 550 Ti which had heating issues and performed harikiri in my face after about 18 months of use. This is my first AMD card and I do not regret purchasing it. The card itself has a very impressive look with it’s Direct CU II cooling rods.

Performs great on high settings with the free AMD gifts as well (Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and Bioshock).
