20 Best Value Golf Set (2022 Updated)

My husband was looking for a new set of golf clubs that were made with quality but didn’t break the bank as he is an amateur golfer. This set fit the bill. Included are the driver, a 3 wood and a 5 hybrid the 6, 7, 8, and 9 iron and a pitching wedge and a putter.

All the clubs are lighter than his old set which he likes. The bag is of very good quality as well as the covers. It shipped in perfect condition and quickly too. This set is made by the Callaway company which is a very respected name in the golf world.

If you are looking for a beginner golf set this is a good option for you.

This product is a great product for me as a beginner for sure. I am obviously a very junior play and have a lot to learn but for the price this is a great start. I have played about 3 rounds of 18 so far and are really enjoying these clubs.

Obviously not much to compare to but they feel. Solid and forgiving of my lack in consistency. I have smacked the ground, missed the ball and more and they are staying strong for sure. Def cannot be happier with these for a starter set.

My husband recently got into golf, but was always borrowing a family members set. I did a lot of research before surprising him with this set. He really loves it! Unfortunately, after playing only 4 rounds the driver cracked along the bottom seam.

I knew other reviews had issues with their drivers so I always knew it was a risk, rest assured though because Callaway makes Strata and they have a great warranty. Technically we could have returned the whole set to Dicks because it hadn’t been 90 days yet, but we only need a driver replacement.

We called them right up and they’re sending out a new driver this week, so we should have that next week! Great customer service, quick and painless. Highly recommend even if the driver can be finicky.

I purchased this set about a month ago. I have not played golf for over 25 years, and just got back into the game. Wanted a good quality set without breaking the bank. You cannot go wrong here. Made by Callaway, the Strata is a decent set starter set.

The irons are solid, the hybrids feel like quality, and the 3 wood also feels and plays great. My only complaint is the driver and putter, which are both so so. I dented the driver on the heel rather quickly, however Callaway sent me a free replacement (one model up Strata Tour) which to date has been holding up, however I do plan on buying a quality driver later down the line.

The putter was also just ok, so I already purchased a better quality Oddysey putter. This set also includes both a sand and pitching wedge, four head covers, and a fairly decent bag. This is a no brainer purchase if your are looking for a complete beginners set.

By far the best beginner set on the market, and yes Strata is made and backed by Callaway!.

Played about 8 rounds and some time at the range so far, just started golfing a couple months ago and got this so no longer had to rent clubs. Very happy with the irons and hybrid. The driver is fine too just a bit hollow sounding, I can see how beginners could break this but mine is fine so far.

Love the hybrid, you can hit some real nice shots with it and sounds fantastic too. The putter I probably will replace but that’s more personal preference, definitely notice it getting beat up in the bag though.

The bag itself is alright, the pockets and zippers feel like that cheap old school bag but so far so good even with it filled up. Straps are comfy and all lighter than i expected for a budget set. All in all for the price in very happy with everything and would recommend to anyone getting into it or needing a set without breaking the bank.

This is my first bag of clubs as I’m just picking the game up within the last month. Tested several brands at the store and these clubs were the winner for me. They are proving to be the correct choice, too.

My drives have surprised me and my golf partners, even during my first time out ever. The selection of wedges in the bag are perfect (7-9) plus the pitching and sand wedges. I haven’t hit the 3W yet so I can’t attest to that club but so far so good.

I have been so happy with my purchase. I am an intermediate golfer and had old clubs. I seriously notice the difference in my accuracy and the distance of my drives. I also notice that hitting the 3 wood on the fairway is much easier to hit and goes farther than my old 3 wood.

I want to mention the irons too. I have never hit my iron’s very well, but I feel so confident. I can hit the ball much further with these irons. I’m pulling out the irons rather than the hybrids and that’s a first for me.

These clubs have improved my game. I’m playing much more often now.

The REVAs are my second set of clubs. They are fantastic to play with. I also bought them for my young teenage son. If my daughter played golf, Id buy a 3rd set! Is there a story behind this listing, Im sensing some anguish with the damn near new comment?.

Purchased these a few months back to get into the game of golf. This set has been great to learn with and is pretty forgiving considering where I started and where I am now. Pros: – Great price/value; you won’t find many starter sets that offer this many solid clubs in this price range – Great set & performance; plenty of options to get you down any length of hole with a reasonable amount of shots – Incredibly forgiving if you’re not that consistent.

Even with a high handicap (30+) I get pretty regular carry distances with each club – Bag is lightweight and comes with a comfortable shoulder strap Cons: – Included bag leaves much to be desired regarding storage space and pocket size, though I guess that’s the tradeoff for being lightweight – Although forgiving, it’s *really* hard to “read” how you’re striking the irons and adjust to fix your swing.

At least in my limited experience, I didn’t realize what I was doing wrong until I spent a great deal of time at an indoor range that gave me more data on my swing – Driver and woods feel fragile. the shafts are a bit whippy even for my “average” club head speeds, and I have already had to replace my driver as it cracked on the head.

To be fair, that may primarily be my fault for fatting the driver a few too many times. – Putter is eh. I may not know what a premium putter should feel like, but this one definitely feels. hollow and soulless, if that makes any sense.

In conclusion, I absolutely do not regret getting this as my first set. Though it is very tempting to start upgrading the rest of the clubs after replacing my driver, I know that these could last me for at least 2-5 years before I outgrow them.

This set has also made me quite the believer in Wilson gear. If I had to do it again and my budget was in the same range, I absolutely would pick these.

I bought this set last year to get into the game a little more seriously. This set gives you a great start. The irons are solid and still useful as Ive improved a great deal. Are there better ones available? Absolutely but they will cost you double this set for the irons ONLY.

The woods however are just so-so. I really didn’t like the feel of the driver and its not quite the quality that the irons are. I did end up replacing it with a Cobra F Max and it dramatically increased both my accuracy and to a lesser extent, my distance.

The 3 wood is slightly better but very similar to the driver. Ive figured out that the included hybrid is a #5. It is steel shafted while the driver and 3w are graphite in my set. The pros: Quality, good feeling, and forgiving irons Sand and pitching wedges are included (though it would be REALLY nice if they had included the specs on the wedges, so you knew what loft you were using) Decent bag Very nice stock grips on every club Good quality blade style putter included with a larger mid-sized grip.

Cons: The the driver. The distance gap from the #5 hybrid to the 3 wood is pretty big. You definitely should have at least 1, probably 2 more clubs in there eventually to fill the gap. Overall, a very nice, quality made set for a great price.

Id have paid the cost of the whole set for just the set of irons.

I purchased these clubs for my son who is 17 and a lefty. Several of his friends actually had been on the high school golf team and he wanted to start playing this summer after baseball and graduation.

As clubs have become so expensive I wasn’t ready to make a purchase on a premium set clubs until there was some commitment to play regularly. After searching around I stopped at my local PGA Store(Paramus NJ) and spoke briefly with one of the sales professional who recommended the clubs for their price and quality.

My son has been playing with set for several weeks now and says the clubs have a good solid feel. The only complaint is the hybrid club that the set comes with in stead of a traditional 5 iron. Otherwise out of the box you can go play a round of golf on any course.

I bought this set back in 2020. They were recommended by the pro, and I played the year with them. They got me the “Most Improved Golfer” title with the ladies’ league. I bought a set of a more expensive brand in 2022 and I ended up going back to my Cobras because they are easier to hit, and they go a mile.

I purchased this 11 piece golf set for my girlfriend. I tried to call golfbox so I could ask some details about the clubs, but you don’t have a real person to speak to anymore. So I went ahead and bought the set.

When the clubs arrived I was extremely disappointed to find there were only 7 clubs in the set. I went on Your chat and spoke to an extremely rude and unhelpful lady, who informed me that I had undead received what I ordered an 11 piece set of clubs comes with 7 clubs and 3 head covers and 1 golf bag.

This was complete false advertising! if I’d knows there were only going to be 7 clubs inside the bag, I’d never have ordered it. I’m extremely disappointed, and I will never buy from golf box again.

The clubs themselves are good; however, I purchased the same priced men’s clubs for my husband. Those clubs are good too, but I struggle to understand why the men’s version comes with two extra clubs then the women’s clubs.

I feel strongly that the men’s and women’s clubs should come with the same number of clubs if the price point is the same. I think the women’s park comes with one extra club sock which is not of equivalent value (monetarily or usefulness).

Decent half set bought for wife who is just starting out playing golf. Clubs are light and a good length. She likes the integrated stand on the bag. The only issue I have is that this package was advertised as being made by Callaway.

I think this is misleading as there is no Callaway branding anywhere – an dif Callaway made the clubs there would be branding on them.

I am 66 and have been playing for 4 1/2 seasons, with a few lessons from a friend who coached at college level. At this point I am a bogey (16-18 handicap) player and have been using these clubs for a year.

They have been durable and perfectly matched to most of the shots I encounter in a typical round, which is why I chose them. Most golfers would benefit from improving their swing rather than buying new clubs, so don’t spend massive amounts of money when a full, matched set like this one will suffice.

They are light, balanced and do the job. The bag has pockets in the right places and has also held up well.

I bought the women’s set in petite as a starting set thinking it would be perfect for me as someone standing at 5’1” and was really excited to see a full set at an affordable price. I found this set great to take to the driving range and par 3s since it has everything you need.

The better I became, I realized that this set is really best suited for someone 5’3” and found it still difficult to use as someone that is 5’1” since I need to adjust my grip up over 2”. I thought being in the middle of the suggest height range meant I would be the perfect height for this set, but it seems like this is still too long for those truly “petite.

” My suggestion would be to get this set if you are truly looking to learn golf and then understand that if you fall in this height range, you are likely to require getting future clubs fitted to your height in the future since standard clubs are definitely going to be too long for us shorter folk :).

I decided to pick up golf again after a few years off. With my height and body proportions, I decided tall clubs would be a better fit. I’m 5’8″, mostly legs. I first took the clubs to a range and was hitting the ball better than I ever did before.

On the course was no different! They’re comfortable, light, and have held up well so far. Added bonus – I love the color scheme! Perfect purchase for someone who wants a quality set but wants to hold a budget.

The only thing is that I wish Wilson sold the Tall clubs with a standing bag, not just the cart bag.

I was looking for an in between golf club set for my taller 12 yr old. He had outgrown a Callaway youth set. A local shop told me about this intermediate set that was a little longer but he said there were none available anywhere in the country.

After an internet search I found Golf discount. I called and they picked up right away and confirmed they had 13 sets in stock. Within the week I had the set. After the first use the bag strap separated from the top of the bag.

I called up and they quickly arranged a UPS pickup for the bag to go back to Tour edge for repair or replace. Got it back in a short time. Things happen but the customer service was excellent and my son is very pleased with his new clubs.

I have used these clubs the entire summer of 2021! I started at the beginning of the summer learning how to play and these clubs have been absolutely amazing. I have kept my tab open since I bought them so I could go back and make sure I leave a review if they were good! I did buy them through my local golf shop (shoutout Edwin Watts Golf in Pensacola, Florida) and I got a steal on them because they were used!!!! Such great clubs and have really helped me enter the sport.

I would say that the two things I feel like I need after using them for awhile is a better putter and driver! Other than that wow these are awesome!.

I received my order–Tour Edge Golf-Bazooka 370 Senior golf clubs–a day before I got home from the hospital. The clubs looked great, the bag is prestigious, and–I was able to send back a set of golf clubs as a trade-in.

Since I live in the northeast, I can only use my clubs at the local bowling alley on a golf simulator. I believe these clubs may just help my game since the shafts are senior flex and at 74 I am a senior.

As soon as I am able, I will be on those golf simulators trying them out.

Recently cracked the face on my gamer, Adams black super hybrid and was looking for a similar more rounded shaped hybrid which is rare. I tried out the Apex, Apex Pro, Sim2, Sim2 Max, G425, Tour Edge C721, and TSi2 hybrids.

Out of the bunch, I liked the G425 and the regular Apex because they are extremely forgiving but was not a fan of their iron-like looks. I was close to purchasing a regular Apex but randomly came across this club and was convinced by all the great reviews.

They weren’t lying! The biggest reason to buy this club is that it sits flat and a touch open making it much harder to hook than any other hybrid I have tried. Even adjustable hybrids often have more weight in the heel or a lot of offset making them hook monsters.

Also for a “pro” hybrid this club is extremely forgiving and has a large enough sweet spot for all handicaps. This club launches high and straight, with a true flight (no ballooning) and has a great muted sound/feel.

The stock KBS shaft is also perfect for this club. It feels very stable and is so well balanced that is it hard to overswing. It should be noted that the shaft lengths are a bit shorter compared to other models out there so you may see a slight decrease in distance compared to your current hybrid.

The Mavrik Pro 3 hybrid is 40″ compared to the Sim2 Max 3 hybrid which is 40. 75″. I prefer the shorter shaft because it fits in better with my iron distances and is a bit easier to control but some people may prefer more distance oriented hybrids.

The Mavrik Pro is like a combination of the regular Apex and the Apex UW but half the price since it is a year older. I purchased my mine with the current 25% discount for $115 in “like-new” condition which is an absolute steal for the performance.

Not sure how this club flew under the radar but I guarantee, you will not be disappointed!.

New Driver: Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero 9. 0* Stiff Flex (Low Spin Weight Setup) Avg Yardage off Tee from first round played with it: 320-350yds Accuracy: Hit every fairway except one.

(mishit off the heel that still went fairly straight and around 200 yds just off the left edge of the fairway). Prelim statement: Hit the Rogue Irons back in 2016 when I was iron shopping and loved the feel and playability of the irons.

When I heard the Mavrik was the revisitation of the Rogue series I had to try it. Luckily, they had a demo Sub Zero at my local club and I had used it previously before purchasing. After the first round of playing with the demo club I knew I had to get it for my bag.

I purchased a “Like New” condition Sub Zero Driver and 3W from here and upon receiving the clubs they had no imperfections on the club at all. Overall Review: Definitely helped my game off the tee even after the first round played with the Driver.

I hit the ball farther, and straighter (the main reason I “took the plunge”) If you currently own a older driver that is difficult to control off the tee I suggest Taking the Plunge yourself and purchasing this club for your bag.

Haven’t used it enough to see if it will lower my scores any, but with the performance of the first round in the bag and leaving me with yardages into Par 5’s that I had never experienced before with my old Driver, this is certainly going to help me shoot lower scores.

This was my first purchased driver as my previous driver was gifted to me as a set packaged with the 904F 3W, and I have no regrets and feel I made the perfect choice for my game.

I bought the Profile SGI set after a lot of research. I wasn’t able to try them before buying but everything I read about them and the few reviews on YouTube, sold me. I went with the longer set for my height.

As a beginner, they feel great when I hit them solid. They feel really good quality and the bag is nice too! Lessons come next.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, unless I find an outstanding product and/or receive excellent service. In the case of these Stealth irons, I couldn’t resist. I was between the P-790’s and the Stealths.

I ultimately decided on the latter and couldn’t made a better decision. All the stats and accolades the critics and manufacturers have made about these irons to me is an understatement. I hate these clubs straighter and longer than any clubs I’ve owned.

I owned a few sets. I even get distance on miss hits. I highly recommend these clubs.

I tried these clubs out and noticed my irons are about 5 to 10 yards further and hitting far fewer errant shots. What is very underrated are the hybrids. Wow do they go far and straight more consistently than my long irons.

Around the green, my bump and run shots get a little bump so that is getting used to. I don’t have that much feel so I tend to over shoot the chip shots. These clubs won’t totally fix all my swing problems, the forgiveness of these clubs are insanely good.

Bought this set after trying them out in store, have been playing a set of late 80s Hogan Edge for 30+ years. Miss the forged feel, but the distance and forgiveness I gained with the Stealth was incredible.

At 6’2″ I’ve always hit the ball on a higher trajectory than average, and lost distance because of it. When I nailed my first shot at the range with the Stealth, it was just as high as the old Edges, but it just kept going – easily 30-40 yards longer.

Those with newer clubs to upgrade from likely won’t see as much, but these were the perfect upgrade for me. Those hybrids go a looonng way, I like them way more than I was expecting.

You get what you pay for with these clubs. I bought them a year ago so i would have a set of my own rather than some hand me down clubs. I used them for around 3 months before my driver head snapped off on my last tee shot of the year.

this year around I got a new driver amd continued to use the irons because i enioyed the feel and the distance from them until about a month in my PW head ended up breaking off followed by my 9 iron a couple weeks later.

They were nice clubs for the money but if you want to get serious dont be afraid to spend a bit more than this.

Bought these clubs back in April 2020 in the thick of the Covid pandemic. I just wanted a set to get me back into golf and didnt want to break the bank. Ive used this set several dozen times, and honestly theyve performed great.

The fact is, it doesnt matter how high tech your gear is if you cant hit straight. Ive worked on my game with these and now my plans are to upgrade in the off-season. This is a PERFECT set if you only golf a couple times a year.

Has everything you need to get around a full course. The driver makes a great sound on connection with a large sweet spot and decent distance. The bag make is a little on the cheaper side but has plenty of pockets for storage and double back strap for carrying.

14 Piece is a bit of a misnomer as that includes the wood and hybrid club covers and rain hood rather than club count. Really speedy delivery, arrived 2 days later in Perth from date of order.

I live in Arizona half of the year in a golf resort. While there I bought a new set of Strata golf clubs and loved them. Now that I am back in Michigan I needed a new set of clubs here so I ordered the same ones so as to be consistent in my game.

They arrived two weeks ago and I am enjoying them as much in Michigan as I enjoy them in Arizona. In fact, when I recently showed them to a friend of mine he was so impressed with their quality that he is now thinking of buying a set for himself.

Great set for a beginner golfer with all the clubs required to play a round of golf. Looks great in red and very functional with the golf bag having 5 nice sized pockets for other equipment as well as other miscellaneous items such as water and snacks.

Irons feel great and forgiving especially for a new golfer and the hybrid is a godsend. Top notch quality item and can’t be beat in value for a beginner set!.

The order arrived very quickly and everything in good condition. There is no pitching wedge but I assume the 9 iron is the substitute. The bag and clubs are very light and look excellent quality. I am looking forward to using them.

I’ve got about 50~ holes in as a fairly advanced beginner is how I classify myself. The cobra clubs came packaged well in perfect shape. The bag is excellent although white gets dirty easily it looks great and has been complimented more than anything I’m afraid it won’t last looking that way long.

The clubs are great for me. I got all graphite shafts and with the lofts a little stronger than true beginner sets out there that I had, looking at you strata, my distances increased. The driver sounds great and I’ve got some of the longest drives ever.

I also shot my lowest round by 10 since I’ve had these. I know I’ve read reviews and thought the clubs didn’t add 10 and I agree I played out of my mind that day but I the clubs definitely have me confidence.

I’ll be interested in seeing the longevity of the club faces.

These Cobras are a bit longer and straighter than my previous set of Stratas. The headcovers are horrendous, particularly the 3 wood cover. A real strife to remove and put back on. Cobra tells me this is not a defect, their covers do “fit tight”.

I couldn’t use the covers during a round. I’ve seen other reviews complaining about the headcover fit. So if you decide these clubs are for you, order a set of knit covers before your first round! You can do better than this Cobra!.

This is definitely the most complete “box set” of clubs you’ll find! Every club has performed perfectly thus far. This set is a huge improvement from my second hand clubs that provided an immediate boost in my game.

Very balanced and light weight, and the driver gives excellent feedback that just inspires confidence. If you’re tossing around the idea of buying new clubs but fear the price, this is a fantastic way to go.

i bought the set thinking it would be a great starter set. I did a bunch of research and shopped around. my friend ended up with a competitor set and i ended up with this one. out of the box the paint was shotty the colors dont stay where they are supposed to be.

the putter seams to absorb the strike. i emailed wilson to return the set and they told me there is noting they can do. my advise is not to go with this set if you are looking for a starter set that will last you after only 9 holes the clubs looked like they were found in my grandpas basement.

I am very disappointed in my purchases and the support from wilson, i used to be a fan of Wilsons products but i feel that has all come to an end.

Was getting back into golf and wanted to see if I would stick with it before dropping big $$$. Got these on sale for about $75 less than the posted price. I’m a tall big guy, 6’3 300lb, and these worked pretty good for me.

They irons are definitely longer than standard clubs, but the woods and driver are pretty much standard length. I was fairly rough on them and they held up well for me hitting some horrible shots which included a lot of turf with them.

The bag is pretty nice and lightweight. Came with head covers for the Driver and Woods.

I just bought these after combing the internet trying to find a set of clubs at a reasonable price. I’M NOT A PRO! THIS IS NOT A SET FOR PROS! I wish people would quit talking trash about affordable box set golf clubs.

The market these are aimed at is for beginners who just want to play. These look great and I can’t wait to get them on the course. My only hope is that at this price point Wilson can continue to improve their products.

So far I have no issue with this clubs.

I have had these clubs for roughly 5 months now, and I have truly enjoyed using them. I had golfed quite a bit when I was a teenager (I’m now in my 30s), and around January of this year I decided to get back into the game.

All my old clubs were worn out and a tad short for me, so I needed a quality budget upgrade option. I began to do some research, and found Stix. I loved the look of these clubs and the reviews all seemed great.

I watched several review videos from people like Rick Shiels and LetsPlayThrough and both had really good things to say about the clubs. I decided to order them and give them a go. It took me a while to get used to the new lengths of the clubs and to get used to the stronger lofts, and I had never had wedges before.

I still rarely touch my 60 degree, but I’ve holed many chips with my 56 degree (by far my favorite wedge). The 52 degree is a nice mid range option (when I hit it right), but I would have preferred a 50 degree.

The 7 degree difference between the PW and the 52 degree is quite noticeable in my distances as I have a 25+ yard gap between the two. This very well could be more my lack than the club’s, but worth mentioning.

I was easily hitting my irons a good 20 or 30 yards longer than my old irons. My old 8 iron was 120 yards, with the Stix I consistently hit 160+. I don’t feel like the driver did much to my game. It has the potential to hit over 300 yards (I have done this a couple of times), but my driving game is very inconsistent at the moment and I tend to average around 240 with this driver with the occasional 270+.

Which is very similar to my old $40 driver I was using before. With that being said this driver does seem to reward a pure swing (which I don’t always have) giving the capability of 280+ yard drives.

I’m not the best golfer and I don’t have a ton of experience with different clubs to give a true review. However, I will say that my game definitely improved once I got my swing more figured out with these clubs.

I haven’t had any of the clubs break on me, and the only reason I have given it one less star is the finish on these black clubs rubbed off almost instantly, which takes away from the look of the clubs a bit.

After 5 months they look way more used than they actually are. The red line on the bottom groove also wears away very quickly. This issue is completely aesthetic and does not affect the play of the clubs.

If I were to buy these again I would definitely go for the silver irons instead of the black. The feel of the clubs seems a bit head heavy and could be a little more balanced, but with that being said it helps with not feeling like you need to swing as hard.

I have to tell myself over and over. “let the club do the work”. When I swing pure these clubs are very accurate and put a decent spin on the ball. I have noticed every now and then the ball seems to come out quite hot and I hit quite a bit further than I was expecting to hit (this is probably more due to my inconsistent swing than these clubs, but it is still something I have noticed with every club).

I would love to be able to tell you how well you can shape your shot with these, but, unfortunately, I am not skilled enough to do this yet so alas someone else will have to cover that part of the review.

Overall these are a great option for the price. I believe I got these on a sale, and out the door it was only $850 for the entire set including the bag. That’s a hard price to beat for the performance of the clubs.

I do wish there were some extra options for the clubs such as medium grips and things like that, as the grips that come on the clubs are quite thin and a little rough to my hands.

Bear with me this may be long. Shipping and delivery time: it took about two weeks to build my clubs. For an order that needed to take a half inch off of my clubs, I thought that the build time was excellent.

The shipping time only took a few days after that. rating five stars Appearance: The clubs were some of the greatest looking clubs that I’ve ever seen, especially the putter. They did look tiny at first especially compared to my taylormade set The bag is also one of the nicest looking bags that I have had the opportunity to use but one of the zippers does catch at times(nit picky).

the head covers on the other hand are a bit of a disappointment. Basically they are oven mitts sewed so tightly that they are a pain to fit over a club but still try to slide off during play. Performance: I did lose some distance with my shots, more than some distance with the driver but what i lost there i have more than made up on with quality shots.

When I do my job(swing even sort of well) these clubs perform better than my “top of the line name brand clubs”. They are very forgiving and make even a half decent shot into a bullseye. I was hitting greens on some shots from 175 or 180 yards out and sinking putts from 20 feet.

these clubs perform fantastically well. Durability: I have read that Stix tend to break and show wear. I’ve seen nothing that worries me about breakage at all. As for wear, I bought the black finish, I expect some wear.

Wear means that you are actually using your gear but there is no excessive wear on these other than maybe some streaking on the driver and standard marks. the orange alignment lines are pretty weak though as i did accidentally peel one off of the nine iron by simply running my finger over it.

I do believe that the loss in distance that I have been experiencing may be attributed to me being short and historically using standard length clubs. I also have found that I swing quite hard for a small, older person so stiff flex may have been a better choice rather than the standard that i ordered.

the loss on my drives however, is worse. I have been getting up to a fifty yard loss on my drives. I am hoping that adjusting my stance and approach fix that because this drive hit beautiful and straight shots all day long.

the fairway woods are straight and beautiful shots. The hybrid is a beast of a sniper club and the irons are so easy to hit that it feels like I’m cheating. the wedge set is a little less east to hit but puts so much spin on the ball that I stick any shot that comes close.

The putter is so good, it feels great in my hands and hands down consistently sinks short and mid length putts while making long putts or at least leaving me with nice makeable short putts. I love my Stix and in retrospect I will go back and make it five stars rather than four although a four and a half would be more accurate.

after twenty rounds maybe I will change my opinion, hopefully for the better but i will leave you with this. when we all play on Sunday mornings, I know that I have the sexiest looking golf clubs in the group and that I will pull off and hand full of shots that will leave my group scratching their heads.

Spent around $1200 for the full set (on sale. ) and decided to go with Stix because they looked like a one stop shop. Positive reviews, “premium”, club length adjusted from the factory, looks nice, etc.

Pros Putter (and cover) Neutral Bag – I like the look of the bag, the zippers feel nice, etc. but the lack of dividers make it a real pain to get 14 clubs in and out of the bag. Didn’t spend enough time with it unfortunately, but I think I would ultimately like this.

Cons Finish – I should have went with the silver. I ultimately went with black because they look cooler, and I knew because I’m not that great of a player that no matter what clubs I have they won’t look pristine after a dozen rounds.

but right out of the bag I had issues with the finish and I had hoped the finish was a little more durable. Inconsistent Lengths – I ordered +0. 5″ length shafts. I got some clubs that were +0. 5″ and some that were standard.

Stiffness – I got the “stiff” shaft, which is very similar to my “intermediate flex” cheapo clubs. Was really disappointed in the amount of flex. Closed driver face makes it an awkward adjustment – It seems like a really aggressive angle, and I just couldn’t hit the club properly except once.

Price – Honestly, I wasn’t impressed by these clubs for the price. $1200 for a full set, bag, and club head covers seems really high. Club head covers – I posted a review on them already. but they’re just bad.

Nothing positive to say about them except they “match” the set. The putter cover is nice, although its magnet means you might end up pulling another club out of the bag with your putter. Glove – It felt nice when I put it on.

but I don’t think it provides the grip needed.
