19 Best Van For Traveling (2022 Updated)

The positive sides were: the welder (it’s our first blowtorch!), Freya McCloud (I really liked the personalization that was done with LEGO city in 2020; some of the minifigs finally have names), the firefighter colored helicopter handle, the emergency motorized vehicle (the biggest of its kind we’ve ever built and my son likes it) and I learned how to build a pipe with several pieces.

As in many homes, the flight of our helicopter is unpredictable 🙂 The weather conditions are however stable, the pilot always has the OK from the control tower to fly away, but sometimes he doesn’t fly away or he doesn’t go very far.

I tried to understand the why in order to see how I could make it fly for sure. I noticed that it is lighter than a Junior model because all its parts are not built with conventional brick. When you make it lighter, it flies better.

The helicopter and the propeller weigh 24 grams, the minifig and the cabin window weigh 14 grams. Our best flights are without the minifig and the glass. The flights that are a little less amazing are the ones with the glass, but without the minifig.

Another reason that can explain the difficulty of the flights is the take-off; the helicopter has to lift itself from the handle to fly (15 mm), if it doesn’t gain enough height the helicopter will stay in your hands.

In order to do this, you should not be afraid to pull the plastic “cable”. As my son is 3 years old, he still doesn’t have the strength to pull and facilitate the takeoff. This doesn’t prevent him from enjoying the propellers turning while he steers the helicopter with the handle.

In the end, maybe the set would have been better appreciated if it had had a gear mechanism that would have turned the propeller without making it fly; the handle would have had a crank that would have helped to turn the propellers.

This is by far one of the best value sets Lego has ever created. If someone asked what the price was I would assume £24. 99-£29. 99, not the bargain price of £14. 99. In the box you will find 3 bags, 3 instruction manuals and a sticker sheet.

Bag 1 is the red tow truck which I was pleasantly surprised by the cool features and size plus the cool black police motorcycle. Bag 2 and 3 includes the police transporter with its simple but effective mechanism which allows the jail cell to pop off.

It also includes an exhaust pipe pointing upwards which isn’t very clear in the photos. Back to the tow truck, it has a clip to attach on the jail cell so after it explodes it can be towed. The wheel axles are extremely rare due to the red colour ( usually grey or black.

) This set is a great add-on to any city police set, especially 60241-46. I bought it with 60244 ( helicopter transport) which was also better that expected. I am really pleased with the 4 minifigures, of them being from the TV series, Lego City Adventures.

The Clara The Criminal figure is really interesting because she has a very rare helmet. The Duke Detain minifigure is great but I don’t really have much to say as he is very common. The Snake Rattler minifigure is a great copy of the TV character.

The police lady is perfect for the driver as she is a double expression character, ( one being happy and the other being scared. ) Both the head and hair\ hat are extremely rare. This is a great set and I strongly recommend as a gift for an aspiring police officer and or Lego lover, Happy building!.

I am validating the poor experience of others who have bought/built this product as well as other Lego sets that use similarly designed helicopters. I bought it for my 6 yr old grandson who expected to see the helicopter fly/hover at least a short distance.

While overall product build quality is excellent, it became clear the helicopter was unable to even lift off of its own accord, let alone fly, from the launch device. On further investigation, it was evident that the downdraught/lift force provided by the rotating rotor was inadequate to overcome the weight of the helicopter.

The rotor, when not fitted to the helicopter, was easily able to lift off and stay airborne for several seconds after launching with the launch device. The poor experience of this product has now reduced my expectations for similar products like #60260 which have now been removed from my wish list.

It is disappointing the Lego designers did not pay more careful attention to this functional aspect the product to give a positive play experience. The rotor lift force and total helicopter weight must be readjusted/redesigned to give a net positive lift force.

Only then can Lego live up to customer expectations for producing innovative functional products for a positive play experience.

It’s neat to see Playmobil partnering with some more established brands, and bringing nostalgic toys for children of campers.

Fun to put together and play with. I do wish it came with more people.

I gave this to my 4 year old son for his birthday and he and is older brother have rather enjoyed it. They tend to replace the Playmobil figures with star wars or bluey characters but they enjoy the Bus nonetheless.

It has a lot of fun, classic detail. I don’t have a lot of Playmobil toys so I’m not as familiar with how they do things so the rest of my review is a result of inexperience. The box had an age range of 5-99, which seems lazy because there is no way either of my kids was putting this together.

At least, not with the instructions provided. Perhaps because I am used to Lego, I assumed the age range referred to assembly as well. Regardless, I had no problem putting it together for my son and he enjoyed playing with it.

The other aspect of assembly that was slightly off putting were the decals. As soon as the sticker would get within an inch of the piece, the static would draw the sticker in making it super difficult to line up properly.

At least you can peel it back off and reapply without damage to the decal. This is just a minor issue. Overall, it is a fun toy for the kids to play with and cool for retro minded adults.

Nice looking Bus. Fit and finish are outstanding. The Red and White body of the Bus seems to be dual molded so the plastic is a solid color throughout with crisp lines. Only the VW emblem is painted, all other trim details are molded in color.

I couldn’t get the folding rear seat to snap in. I followed the vague instructions and tried different ways to click it into place but didn’t want to force it. I gave up and just left it where it kind of sits in place.

I didn’t apply the original stickers but copied some to put on. Walmart had the best prices on the Bus and Bug at $10 under MSRP.

I received this bus because I love Volkswagen buses. Even though I am older I wanted to get this as a toy I can put on the shelf and give it to my niece and nephew when they come over. The assembly was a little difficult cause some of the pieces really took a lot of muscle to snap into place.

The overall construction was sturdy though. I know that nothing will be coming out of place once the pieces are correctly assembled. The directions are easy to read for a child but children may need help assembling because it’s difficult to snap in.

I love the fact it comes with two figurines and some accessories.

I (as a grown up!) love this! Initially it took a lot of stickers applying, the front clipping onto the van and threading the shower curtain onto the pole. that was a little faffy but not difficult. There are loads of little pieces (plates, cups, juice, etc.

) that mostly clip onto holes on the fridge shelves or tables so they don’t keep moving around, which is great (but you have to teach your child to support whatever they are pushing it onto or I feel the plastic would be brittle and crack) but I do wish there was some kind of storage box that perhaps fit in the bedroom to store the loose tiny bits like cutlery and toothbrushes (yes, toothbrushes!!!) Press the button on the top and the whole camper easily slides open to reveal the kitchen on one side, bathroom and living/hammock space.

One wall folds down containing the swimming pool, and a double bed area is in the roof. For us it is a relief to have somewhere for Barbie to live: there is space for 4 full size Barbies to sleep! There are also 2 chairs (also used for driving in the cab) and 2 stools, a camp fire and marshmallows on sticks! Downsides of this are that when folding it up for driving (or storage) I found it difficult to store the main table and campfire.

The table comes apart from it’s stand but I still find it awkward to stow anywhere: and there is nowhere for passengers to sit for driving unless you squeeze them (we have 2 small Chelsea Barbies and a normal size Barbie and Ken) in the cab too.

(Perhaps I am trying too hard to treat it like a real camper??? ) So this is quite large (but then Barbie is quite tall!), and you need to be able to reach both sides when playing to really play with it so it gets plonked in the middle of the living room, but it is great that it at least folds away a little smaller for storing.

This is every little (or grown up) girl’s dream toy and I feel it lives up to expectations! My 5 year old plays with it nicely and I’d say she’s the right age for it and all it’s teeny tiny bits! Although expensive this is truly awesome and worth the money!.

Flimsy piece of garbage. Got this for my daughter’s 5th birthday. She’d been asking for it for months. Although it had some poor reviews, I figured it was worth a shot. We returned it the following day as requested by my daughter.

Pretty sad when an easy to please child doesn’t want it. First time we poped it open, a plastic latch snapped. This latch held the whole side of the camper closed. The pool doesn’t snap in. Just slides all over the place and makes it hard to close the broken door.

The pool ladder won’t stand up. Top camper latch doesn’t stay closed. This latch basically hold the entire thing together. Couldn’t drive it without it popping open on its own and spilling everything out the side.

Window latch won’t stay closed. You see where I’m going with this. None of the latches work. Hammocks are cheap and have to taped on the hooks to stay up. The front cab is completely closed of so barbies have to be crammed through the windows to get in.

If they can’t bend their knees they must sit half out the non existing windshield or lying horizontally in the cab. Once collapsed, nothing else fits in the camper. The tiny cab is really the only place for Barbie and her camping gear to fit.

I honestly can not find a single thing about this that was any good. I paid half price for this $85 nonsense and wouldn’t recommend it for any more than $10. If you’re thinking of purchasing this item, first consider cutting holes in a cardboard box strapped to an old skate.

As expected, the minute my daughter’s saw this camper they squealed with delight and crawled all over me until I had it put together. First plus for this camper is that it comes almost completely assembled.

It took maybe 15 minutes to set up, and most of that time was consumed with placing stickers on the camper. This set comes with two chairs that are used both as dining chairs and as driving chairs, and unfortunately my girls were very frustrated with trying to use the attached seatbelt.

It is fairly difficult to remove and replace the belt and they eventually stopped trying to use it at all. The set does come with play food and accessories, and whoever thought of making the accessories actually attach to the playset is a genius.

It works so much better than just placing the items on the table like I remember from when I was younger. My girls did get very frustrated with the two hammock beds as they do not stay up very well, and those eventually got tossed to the side.

Overall, this is a cute set, but unfortunately the smaller pieces just do not stay in place easily nor is there very much to do with it. Although my girls were so excited the first few days they had this, I have not seen them play with it again after that.

This bag is top quality and cool as. ! I have had other VW bags but this one is by far the best made and best looking. ! We use it in our pram as a change bag for my daughter and it fits in my VW beetle that has limited room with baby and pram on board.

I highly recommend buying this bag. ! Built to last !.

This product seems super excellent and fun to watch. I really like tender and small things to put in my collection. also collection carts, doll accessories such as makeup, clothes, toys, etc.

Bought this for my nephew as one of his Christmas gifts. It’s a great little camper and very easy for a five year old to assemble. Great value for money as it has come down in price. Would definitely recommend this as a gift for any little boy or girl and would suit anyone on a budget.

Both of my nephews aged 3 and 5 have had hours of fun playing with this! Definitely gets Auntie Eve’s seal of approval.

I havent actually done any of the routes due to restrictions. The routes in the book look very interesting and cant wait to try them. Good explanations – recommend for people who want to take time to explore the countryside.

Will be buying the Scotland book as well.

While visiting a vintage car collection, I inadvertently dislodged a travel trailer ornament from its perch on a small Christmas tree. Feeling devastated, I searched the internet and found the exact replacement.

I bought it immediately and personally delivered it to the owner of the collection. I am so relieved to be able to replace the little trailer.

Love this little ornament! I buy a Christmas ornament every year for my kids. I bought this little red truck for my 20 year old son. It is so cute. I’m never disappointed with the old world Christmas ornaments! Such a nice addition to the family ornament collection.

Love it! I just put one on my smaller beach themed tree and it is beautiful. It is so sparkly, bright and cheerful. I bought one for each of my son’s family trees as well, as a memory of a fun experience we had renting a pontoon at the shore this past summer.

My refrigerator became temperamental this summer and stopped maintaining my food properly, so I ordered a replacement pronto. Unfortunately, the pandemic continues to impede the supply chain and I am still waiting for that order as I write.

The next best option was this AstroAI portable unit, thanks to Prime Day pricing and stock, and I could not be happier. I have used it continually as a refrigerator for six weeks now and it has performed above and beyond my expectations.

After reading other reviews, I set the temperature on Eco mode about ten degrees below what I consider optimal, which keeps everything nice and cold but not frozen. The smaller side storage space is not nearly as cold and more like a cooler, so I only put things that cannot spoil before I use them in that area, such as smaller beverages, condiments, candy and nuts, but absolutely no dairy.

The lower the overall temperature, the colder the side space gets, however, so I imagine dairy would be fine in the side area if using the larger space as a freezer. I love the ability to easily change the temperature by degree or switch between refrigeration and freezing, and the unit is quiet, efficient, responsive and simple to move with the sturdy handles.

I am not as big a fan of the internal basket, though, which helps removing everything at once (for example, to mop up the water that pools on the bottom regularly) but prevents some containers from standing upright without extra effort to place them carefully.

Eventually I will probably have to invest in one or more smooth-bottomed baskets for inside the outer basket to solve this problem if it keeps bugging me enough. When/if I finally receive my replacement refrigerator, I plan to use this AstroAI as a supplementary fridge or freezer, keeping it plugged in always.

I have already ordered another portable fridge/freezer unit from a different brand and the AstroAI one is indisputably tons better in terms of operation and space. If it ever goes on sale again for a comparable Prime Day price, I would not hesitate to purchase a second one.

My wife and I took a three week road trip around the country and used the Astro Al to keep food cold along the way. It worked great and we didn’t have any issues. We had the cooler plugged in to the car when we were driving and kept the temp in the low to mid 20s.

We also had a couple of ice packs in it. When we camped in the car and didn’t have power (rest areas and tent sites without power), we left the cooler plugged in to the car’s power port (which are powered with the car turned off on the GMC Acadia).

It would stop running overnight to avoid discharging the battery. We never had a problem starting the car and everything stayed frozen/cold over night. We did find that if we stacked a couple of towels on top of the unit (especially the door) it would stay a little colder.

When we had campsites with electricity, we plugged the unit in to power and it worked fine. We did have a couple of mishaps with us setting the temperature and freezing canned drinks and bottled water.

Seltzer cans leaked a couple of times – due to our setting the temp too low for too long. On the other hand, it seemed to take a long time for the cooler to make large ice cubes, but when we made ice in a hotel room and put it in the cooler, the cubes stayed frozen until we used them.

This may have been because we tried making ice cubes after the freezing mishaps and didn’t have the temp set low enough. After much trial and error, 25 seemed to be a good temp to keep everything cold, even when we parked for a couple of hours and the unit would stop pumping.

and this temperature also kept cans from exploding. I think keeping a couple of blue ice packs in the unit helped to even out the temperature. We generally used the cooler for beverages, leftovers, sandwich fixin’s (tuna salad, mayo, cold cuts, etc.

), and fresh produce. The cooler paid for itself in convenience and the ability to cook on the road and keep leftovers. We also had an electric griddle, a butane stove, an air fryer, an electric kettle, and a stainless french press to round out our camp kitchen.

I’ve had this unit for 2 plus years now and it still works like new. I use it 24 hours a day 365 days a year in hot dessert climate. Works best as a fridge in this environment with temps well above 100 everyday during summer.

Using as a freezer it will struggle in this heat and use a lot of energy. I really like the 12 – 24 volt application. I have all 12 volt batteries in parallel but during day I run my fridge directly off one 60 watt rich solar panel which is around 21 volts (voltage drops with load on panel).

I use a splitter at the end of my power cord with the fridge taking up most the power while cycling the compressor and a few watts going into one of my solar generators. When fridge compressor turns off I get about 50 plus watts into my solar generator.

Saves big time on battery cycles running the fridge without a battery. For a fridge around $200 you can’t go wrong. It’s not as quiet as a higher end fridge and insulation not as good but for a third of the price it’s a good deal.

I’ve more than abused this thing over 2 years and I feel comfortable recommending this. In fact I’m going to get their larger one if my more expensive fridge ever breaks. The power on eco is about 32 to 37 watt draw (spikes back in forth).

In a normal environment at temps in 70s and 80s the compressor turns on 2 to 3 times an hour for 10 mins or less. I’ve ran it over 12 hours in these conditions using less than 180 watt hours which breaks down to only 15 wh per hour.

In temps at 60 or below I’ve seen it use close to 10 wh each hour which is amazing. It seems like all bad reviews are damage from shipping and not fault of the company. If you get unlucky it’s an easy exchange or return.

My daughter absolutely loves this cute little red peppa pig toy car. Comes with pepa pig 2 in toy doll that fits perfectly in the car. It’s pretty cute small enough for small hands and sturdy enough to hold ruff play that I don’t have to worry about it breaking.

It definitely makes a perfect gift for any peppa pig lover. I love the bright red color and the detailing of the car I like that it’s capable to add more characters which are sold separately. Will be definitely picking them up for my daughter.

I love peppa pig and so does my little one. This peppa van and character. It’s the perfect size for hours of play and to take with you places. The characters fit perfectly inside to act like they are driving.

You can also add other characters and collect other accessories to have all of peppa pig items. This is made from very sturdy quality material. We have played for hours with this. I recommend.

My 3 year old LOVES Peppa and could not be happier with this little car. It’s the perfect size for her little hands. She has so much fun sitting on the kitchen floor and zooming it back and forth to her brother.

Peppa can’t be removed from this car and that’s ok with us. One less Peppa figure to keep track of and she’s always in the vehicle. Nothing fancy with this little car, and my daughter is perfectly happy playing with the car.

It’s a big hit!.

These racks are fairly straight forward, easy to install and really do the job of hauling ladders and other long items conveniently. Durability seems good and the finish (sort of a hammered steel look with black in the pits) is neutral enough to look good on almost any vehicle and should stay looking that way in time.

Installation tip: It is my feeling that the single bolt that has to be drilled through the telescoping bars was inadequate to keep them from rattling. The fit is a bit loose, so I recommend the following: Mount the larger receiving side, then mock up the inserting side and mark the bolt hole with a marker.

Remove it again and take some clear polyurethane tape and wrap it 8 times (or if using another kind of tape, experiment until it slides easily though almost snugly) around both the marked bolt hole location and then the very end of the crossbar.

Slide them together (It may take some wiggling to get past the burr on the inside of the hole), then mount the support strut. Drill the 5/16″X2″ bolt through as per the instructions, then measure from the strut to the bolt hole.

Measure from the opposing strut the same distance, drill through there too and add a second 5/16″X2″ bolt and nylock nut, easily found at any hardware store. For just a couple bucks more, this made for a very rigid and rattle free installation.

Since my van is so long (1976 Dodge Maxivan) I doubled up the order for four crossbars total. With the discount code and free shipping, I have a sturdy rack capable of even moderate loads of lumber for under a Benjamin.

I ordered this blind, since the description is oddly vague. This product did indeed ship with TWO BARS despite the quantity stating “1” and only one bar pictured. This is not a complaint with the product, just a clarification on the description.

I was also worried about sizing due to an equally vague dimension spec. The bars are telescoping, so they will fit most vehicles. All and all the best value for this price I could find. I would recommend.

The stanchions are designed for an L-shaped rain gutter whereas mine are less angled and more straight (Chevy Express van) but they will still grip securely. Very heavy duty, the total weight (2 bars + stanchions is around 22 lbs.

Installation is straightforward but be advised you are supposed to drill a 5/16″ hole through the 2 piece telescoping bars (4 layers) once installed/fitted to insert a locking bolt – you’ll need a very good drill bit (like cobalt).

The black/gray marbled finish looks good with my silver van. They’ve only been on a couple weeks now but I anticipate them holding up very well over time.

Originally I thought the print on the keychain was very hazy and unclear and I was disappointed. I could not see anything that needed to be or could be removed. However, after reading another review I looked at it again.

I still saw nothing that could be removed but I just scratched at the edges until the film loosened and it peeled right off on both sides. What a difference that made! Now the keychain is shiny, the print is clear and it is very pretty!!.

I bought this to give to a friend that lost both of her dogs. I thought it would make a great gift. It is cute. The only issue is the background is dark and one of the dogs is black and you can barely see the dogs.

It is okay. I will still give it to her but glad I have other things for her too.

Had keychains made for my nephew and sister, and they came out amazing! The dogs I chose for both were spot on. The quality is top notch and is definitely worthy giving them as gifts. I really couldn’t believe how great they look and am very happy with them.
