20 Best Vanilla Bean Paste (2022 Updated)

Learn from my mistake. I am a pure vanilla lover and invest money on the best quality that I can. I blame myself for not doing proper research on this product. I have used Nielsen-Massey extracts before and was happy with the product, and that’s probably the reason I didn’t look more closely at ingredients before purchasing.

My bad. First, this is in no way a paste. I assumed that it would be a paste of ground vanilla bean. It is not. It is more of a syrup. You can spoon it out and it pours freely. First ingredient: sugar.

Second ingredient: water. Third ingredient: vanilla extract. Vanilla bean is the fourth ingredient, followed by thickener. For the high price, I’m very disappointed that the product is mostly sugar and water.

I tasted the syrup on its own. Yes, there is good vanilla flavour, but the sweetness is cloying and I would have been better off with a good quality vanilla extract without the sugar, water, and thickener.

If you want really high quality vanilla without the filler, go to a company called Giddy YoYo and order their pure ground vanilla bean. It is expensive, but you are getting 100% ground vanilla which is incredible added to baking, jams and desserts.

Don’t waste your money on this product which is mostly cheap filler.

I love the vanilla paste by this company. It adds an extra zap of flavor. I love the flavor of vanilla and this give it to you big time. I have not been disappointed in anything I have bought from Nielsen-Massey.

I really like the Heilala Vanilla bean paste when I added it while baking cookies. If you’ve ever asked yourself what the little black dots in ice cream and other desserts are/look no further. You can actually see the vanilla specks.

This product is ideal for ice cream/cupcakes/milkshakes/and custard. It has a wonderful aroma/a great taste and will spice up your dish. I would recommend this product to anyone who would like to try the paste over the extract because it will give your dish an added kick.

Try it/you 5/like it as much as I did! I am really looking forward to trying this in my pies for Thanksgiving!.

Guys I’m in love. I just got this today after wanting to wait til I move out. Couldn’t help myself! I went for it. Also couldn’t contain myself and wait until I bake something delicious. I’d been craving horchata but forgot to tell my boyfriend to bring the necessary milks from the store today.

He instead remembered my comments about wanting to make it that he bought me instead a kerns horchata. It’s usually ok but this time it tasted a little like too much cows milk. Bleh. So I shook my little paste bottle and I threw 1/4 tea spoon into my cup.

And I poured the horchata into my cup and mixed it with my 1/4 tsp. As you can imagine my cup is long and the spoon is little and yet when I stirred it mixed everything from the bottom! And I could see a ton of beans swirling in my cup beautifully! It tasted way sweeter but not too sweet at all just not milky anymore! The beans do settle though and it’s probably more aesthetically pleasing in bakes and the beans are a little thick because I could feel them going in my throat sort of grainy like but I’m not that sensitive so I didn’t need to clear my throat but some might if they drink this.

But I’m so happy! I plan to buy this forever I hope! I recommend it. It doesn’t even expire til 2024. But it’s not a lot especially if you plan to use it a lot but that’s worth it! Sucks some people don’t like it at all.

Store in a cool dry place I would want to store it in the fridge but I don’t know if that will make it thicken too much. Who knows but my house is pretty hot these days. Anyways read the description to find out how much to use but in general is one tea spoon per bean and extract.

There is variety though and of course you can modify to taste and recipes. Best of luck hope you have a great experience like me! I lalalove this!!!!.

Heilala vanilla paste has a rich, aromatic vanilla flor with tiny flecks of vanilla bean interspersed throughout the gel-like paste. It is by far the highest quality vanilla that I’ve ever used in over 50 years of home baking.

I only wish that I’d been introduced to this product sooner.

I love to bake for friends, family, and my local fire department. Because I want everything to taste great, I would not use anything other than Rodelle Vanilla Paste. When I see all the specks of a real vanilla bean in my frosting I know I’m using the very best there is.

You have all the richness and flavor of a vanilla bean without having to scrape a vanilla bean. It’s much easier opening the lid and measuring out the vanilla that you need for your recipe. My cookies, cakes, and cupcakes are very rich tasting, due to the Rodelle Vanilla Paste.

I’ve never tried vanilla paste before so I didn’t know what to expect on texture or taste. First when I received this, the packaging it came it was impressive, made you feel like you were getting something really special.

Upon opening the vanilla paste bottle, the paste itself is more of a kind of syrupy/molasses texture, not thick when the word paste comes to mind. It is definitely much thicker than vanilla extract. I took a little taste of it and I must say it tasted really good so it made me excited to bake with it and I bake quite often for my family.

I used it in my banana bread and muffins. It mixed in nicely with the rest of the ingredients. I used the same amount of vanilla paste as I would with vanilla extract. I like the fact that this is all natural also.

My banana bread and muffins came out delicious. Overall, I would totally recommend this product. I’m excited to try it on other things I want to bake.

It hardly even smells like vanilla. its weird and syrupy not a paste. I made muffins for breakfast, just 6 from scratch. I added a teaspoon of this vanilla, taste batter no vanilla flavor, 3 teaspoon’s later still no vanilla flavor.

At this point the batter is brownish from added “vanilla” and has no vanilla flavor. Bake muffins anyway. Guess what, no vanilla flavor. Not buying this again.

I’m obsessed and love vanilla Bean. This paste I found when making homemade whip ream. It added a whole extra level of oomph. It’s great for drinks and baking as well♡

It definitely works in the smoothies I make! I used it in an avocado smoothie with soy milk and a touch of splenda. I would say it’s the most perfect vanilla flavor and it’s really easy to use. I’d recommend it to my friends for sure, especially for smoothies.

I absolutely love this Vanilla Bean Paste. It is so flavorful you could eat it by the spoonfuls. It gives a distinct taste to all your baked goods. I put it in my hot chocolate, my yogurt and anything else I think of.

This is a fairly good price compared to so many of the vanillas that are highly priced now.

I usually use vanilla extract but when I saw this I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad that I did! This stuff is wonderful! It has a very strong and pleasant vanilla flavor. It looks like vanilla beans mixed into a gel but it kicks up the flavor in anything you’re making that calls for vanilla in the mix.

It’s inexpensive and that’s always a plus especially when it turns out to be a quality product.

So glad they started selling this at Michaels. Always run out at the last minute and they are never in stock at grocery stores so always windup getting it though amazon and crazy high price. oohh ya.

I tried this small bottle of Rodelle Vanilla Paste several months ago. I have used it in so many different recipes and love it! I definitely plan on buying a couple of larger bottles because the taste is superior to every other single brand I’ve tried and the little bitty vanilla bean bits give my white frostings a bit of sophistication.

Not only that, but just a little bit goes a long, long way in adding a lovely, deep vanilla flavor to everything I make with it. If you haven’t tried Rodelle yet, please do. I’m not saying you will fall in love with it, I’m just saying.

My bottle arrived with lots of paste dried around the rim/lid. It seems that much of the product was wasted due to this since there was only 2 oz to begin with. I did love seeing the vanilla specks in my frosting though.

I finally found the perfect vanilla for my baking! I recently had a bad experience with another company that I used to get my vanilla bean paste from where they changed the recipe and it tasted like straight chemicals and zero vanilla and I have tried over a dozen other kinds and nothing tasted right, well my searching has ended because this is my new best friend! I add this to my oatmeals, milkd, whipped cream – you name it! Adds flecks of real vanilla bean! I don’t bake with this though – I can’t seem to get the ratios right. 1:1 for regular vanilla extract yields no flavor, while 2:1 seems to affect the way that the baked good turns out (probably because of the water and other ingredients in here).

But this product performs well where regular extract can’t, so 5 stars!.

This is a really excellent product. And although not cheap it’s very decent value as a little goes a long way. I’ve used it in various baking with great success, and a quarter teaspoon adds some sweetness to overnight oats if you’re trying to cut down on sugar.

Finally, a vanilla product that actually tastes like vanilla, instead of the strange chemical taste so many others seem to have. Highly recommended.

If used properly, this stuff adds a lovely vanilla flavour. It is a paste, though a gooey one, which means it is intense, like a curry paste, so it must be used sparingly. A 1/4 tsp in cake mix, maybe 1/2 if it’s your main flavouring and you want it strong.

I have literally taken smidge of it and put it my coffee, really gorgeous taste. One of these pots last ages since you need so little.

Just don’t bother with others! This tastes great and not synthetic like the others and feels really luxurious to use somehow…the experience of the jar and getting it out with a spoon all appears more than pouring or squishing from a tube.

This product has an overpowering alcohol smell. I expected it to smell like vanilla but it doesn’t. The other extracts from this same brand smell wonderful. It’s more of a syrup than a paste. It also discolors the food, not a tint but a caramel color.

I had to add more milk and even white gel food coloring to use it as a glaze. The glaze then still tasted like alcohol. I won’t use this again in anything that won’t be cooked. This did work well as a one for one for vanilla extract in baked goods.

Thanks goodness the alcohol burns off. I will only use it for things as such.

I am so glad I found this website and have already shared the information with other Family members who will be ordering products as well. My first ordered arrived yesterday and was anxious to try the Vanilla Bean Paste.

The aroma smells wonderful straight from the bottle then I added it a plain Greek yogurt and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor. Today I am back to order more of the Vanilla Bean plus other items.

Shank’s Vanilla Bean paste was very good for the price. It comes nice and thick. I love the speckled appearance the ground vanilla beans give to my frosting. It has a decent flavor, but I do wish it was a bit more bold like a pure extract.

Nonetheless, I can always use a combination of extract and paste in my desserts.

I purchased this to be used in a dessert recipe that I was making for the first time and was completely unsure how to use it. We’ll, let me tell you that it will be a staple in my home from now on. A little goes a long way and the taste and aroma is wonderful! It will be used instead of pure vanilla extract whenever possible.

I usually buy vanilla beans and cut and scrape them for that fabulous flavor that I thought only they good give, but this paste is like the real bean, and so far superior to liquid bottled natural vanilla flavoring ! The paste is filled with the tiny black seeds that are flavor filled and visually show you are eating the real thing.

I highly recommend this paste, and I will continue to keep it as a staple in my kitchen.

This is an amazing item same taste and look but without the time and money of buying and scraping vanilla beans. Great very “vanillaie” and the seeds let me know it is vanilla bean.

I used this yesterday in my shortbread cookies and it’s delicious and very concentrated. I would buy again but this is a large container and will no doubt last a long time.

Love it. I use vanilla in my WFPB smoothies and other recipes and this is the very best.

I’ve been hooked since I saw cloudykitchen use this paste and got my own jar. I started off with the tiny jar because I didn’t really know what I was getting. Now, I can’t bake without it. This enhances any item that calls for vanilla extract and omg when you make a whipped cream or custard cream with this stuff.

Dead. It’s SO good. Get this. The big jar of it is so worth it, esp during a sale!.

I used this for the first time just earlier this year. Loved it so much had to come back for the large bottle. I’ve always got compliments on my pound cake but using this vanilla paste even makes it better and enhanced more with the seeds speckled thru out the cake.

When I was looking for vanilla beans, I came across this jar of paste and thought how convenient but what about the taste. I am used to using extract and whole beans for special desserts. This paste was the best of both! With as much as I cook, this should last me awhile.
