There are many different types of shamanic traditions, each with their own unique take on the role of the shaman. However, one common thread among all shamanic cultures is the use of vanilla shaman race as a key part of shamanic practice.
Vanilla shaman race is a type of plant that is native to the Amazon rainforest. The plant is used by shamans in a variety of ways, depending on the tradition. Some shamans use vanilla shaman race to create a tea that is said to help induce trances and promote spiritual healing.
Other shamans use the plant in more traditional medicinal ways, such as preparing it as a poultice to help heal wounds.
In some shamanic traditions, the vanilla shaman race plant is also used as a tool for divination. Shamans will often burn the plant and interpret the smoke patterns that are created. This is said to be a way of communicating with the spirit world and gaining guidance from the spirits.
Vanilla shaman race is just one of many different plants that are used in shamanic traditions. Other common plants include tobacco, coca, and ayahuasca. Each plant has its own unique properties and uses that are integral to the shamanic tradition in which it is used.

It is naturally clear. Global Goods works endlessly to make sure our Mexican Vanilla comes from the purest Vanilla Orchids in the region. Most of the products sold throughout the United States are chemical derivatives of the vanilla scent.
Global Goods Inc does NOT use any foreign chemicals in our our Mexican Vanilla. The only Vanilla more pure than this is the actual Vanilla Bean.
Mexican Vanilla is the way to go. However, there are only a couple of brands that you can buy in the United States that are safe and you have to purchase it online. Most of the vanillas sold in Mexico have an ingredient that I believe is carcinogenic.
Global Goods is one of the safe ones. You have NEVER had vanilla until you have this. The taste is excellent!! What you buy in the store here is “blah!!!” You’re told you can use half as much Mexican vanilla in your recipes because it has so much flavor!! I use just as much as the recipe calls for, if not more.
I love how it tastes so much that I want that flavor to shine through on most of my recipes that call for it. You won’t regret buying it!!!!!.
This product appears to be the real deal. I use it daily to make my own Frappuccino and have been using it for years. As good or better than the small, over priced alternatives.
Nice smell, but packing was very bad. Big bottle was too heavy for the envelope they sent it in… envelope got ripped and bottle was smashed. Disappointed on this:(

Reviews From Real Customers
I go through multiple bottles of vanilla extract in a year and bought this when all the others were sold out. It’s not as good quality as McCormick, M&B or Simply Organic. It has a strong smell of alcohol upon opening that isn’t present in any other vanilla extract.
Next time I’ll just wait and purchase better quality because this just isn’t it. It’s priced at a fraction of it’s competitors for a reason.
Rodelle vanilla is very good, but the bottle design is poor. You end up wasting a lot of product because it runs down the lip of the bottle opening. If a vanilla retailer sells vanilla in a better bottle I will try it.
I suspect part of the problem is the low surface tension of the product since it contains alcohol. Of course, a thickening agent could be added, but I wouldn’t recommend that. If a bottle could be molded with a small nozzle inside the threaded opening that would work.
Alternatively, a cap with a built in eye dropper would work.
I originally got this vanilla a few years ago at a large discount store. I finished the bottle and tossed it, thinking I could buy another. Nooo. It was no longer being sold in that store. Fortunately I remembered the name and I found these two bottles that are exactly like the first bottle I bought a few years back.
I love the flavor of this vanilla. Would you believe I add it to my coffee in the morning? It’s so rich and I add a little stevia too. Totally delicious.

Global Goods Was Founded By Brian Oaks, A Social Entrepreneur Who Partners With Communities In Underserved Nations To Grow And Harvest The Raw Ingredients Used In His Company’s Line Of Natural Food And Personal Care Products.
I have used this Global Goods vanilla for many years for my pound cakes , brownies and other baking. And I I have done a lot of bake sales where people want to know what makes it tastes so good. Its the vanilla I say !.
Botanical name: Vanilla planifolia. Deliciously scented vanilla, a common ingredient in perfumes, is extracted from the cured seed pods of a tropical orchid. Its familiar aroma – deep, rich and sweet, comforts the emotions and calms the spirit.
It smells really good, I’ll say that upfront. Very wonderfully orange-y, like peeling a fresh one. But it is so oily, and I couldn’t figure out how to incorporate it into anything. For water and cocktails, it was just like a little orange-y oil slick floating on top.
No mixability means not useful for my purposes. For baking, I used as much as I dared — it is oil, and I didn’t want to throw off my recipe by adding too much — and I couldn’t detect any orange flavor in the dessert.
I’m sticking with grating and squeezing and DIY homemade orange flavor.
Whether you’re working towards a new personal record or you’re trying to stay fit, you should make the most of your workouts, which includes your recovery. Core Power protein shakes has everything you need to refuel, rebuild and rehydrate, to help you recover from your workout.
With Core Power Vanilla, you get a protein shake that’s packed with 26g of high quality protein, all 9 essential amino acids, electrolytes and the smooth taste of vanilla. Fueled by fairlife ultra-filtered milk, Core Power is about helping you recover after a workout so you feel good and can tackle the rest of your day.
My favorite protein shake is the core power chocolate shake. It has a delicious chocolate flavor and tastes like you are drinking chocolate milk. It has a nice creamy texture and a very nice mouth feel.
They don’t have that overpowering artificial sweetener flavor. I cannot handle drinking protein shakes that have that chalky taste. This one is delicious and the one I reach for when I need a quick meal replacement on the go.
They are a great healthy way to reward myself after a workout and make sure my muscles are getting the nutrients they need to recover and grow. Would recommend to anyone who wants a protein shake that actually tastes good while being good for you.
I ordered this this Walmart online after I was unable to find it in any stores and looking for something that specifically could be used as a meal replacement since I’m a horrible meal skipper. Had my first one today, it left a weird aftertaste but then I looked at the label and realized how stupid I was to purchase this item.
The sodium content is absolutely outrageous and the vitamins it contains pales in comparison to other similar products. Additionally, the cost, which obviously didn’t deter me from purchasing, is definitely on the high end when doing a comparison to another highly-rated, lower fat/sugar/sodium product.
I bought two 12-packs, one is opened the other will be be returned. Typically, I thoroughly check labels prior, but messed up big time with Fairlife/Core.
Delicious. Cannot for the life of me figure out why there are so many negative comments about this Core Power Complete Protein Milk Shake in the Strawberry Banana flavor! Zero chalkiness, zero fake banana flavor and zero aftertaste- unless you count the yum wish I had more of that left feeling as an aftertaste.
Yes, it has fake sweeteners. What protein drinks don’t? Especially ones that actually taste good. I’ve tried quite a few protein drinks, bars etc. and have never been able to find anything fruit flavored that tasted like actual fruit and was pleasant to consume.
It’s always chocolate, peanut butter, or combos of the two. And they’re good, but when that’s all you’re eating it gets old. These shakes are a welcome addition to the rotation. Even with their 6 net carbs.
They’re like a delicious dessert, worth it. Definitely wouldn’t be mad if the price dropped a bit or if Walmart would stock the multipacks instead of only selling the $3 a pop individual bottles, and even making those hard to come by sometimes but that’s not the drink’s fault.
And speaking of them being hard to come by, made the mistake of grabbing a Muscle Milk Strawberries And Cream recently when these weren’t available. How different could it be from these or the also delicious Pure Protein drinks? Answer: very.
Watery, chalky, and next to zero flavor. Never again. Do yourself a favor and try these, get more protein into your diet and actually enjoy doing it. And so much easier than grilling skinless chicken breasts, easier to throw in your bag or cup holder too.

I really wanted to like this. I love coffee, and having my coffee AND protein in one ready made, carry with me solution sounded great. I am overweight and busy trying to care for my elderly mother. Trying to keep my blood sugar levels even and not snacking on junk because I am busy is the first step to getting back in shape and healthy.
These drinks were my hope for a beginning. I have drunk many protein shakes in my day, back when I trained 5-6 days a week, and Labrador has always tasted bad to me. I was hoping that after so many years, they would have improved.
They have not. The coffee and the oil used in this flavor taste rancid. Not pleasant going down. The acesulfame artificial sweetener in this is a problem. It is far too sweet, and the sweet taste stays in my mouth for up to twelve hours after I ingest it when it is used to extensively in a product.
It is really unpleasant. Labrada needs to use about fifth of the amount they put in their products. Adjust gross! Returning.
I ordered Tahitian vanilla beans (grade B) to make extract, and they arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Great quality, the beans were as expected and hoped for. I purchased Madagascar beans earlier and those too, were excellent! I definitely feel I’m getting my money’s worth by purchasing from this company, it seems like a trustworthy and reliable company who delivers what they promise.
I was very curious as to what the Tahitian vanilla beans would smell like since I had only read descriptions but never actually smelled or tasted it before. I had read they have a floral scent and also notes of anise, and the anise concerned me a little bit.
I was hoping that the anise flavor or scent would not stand out too much, and I was relieved to find that it it did not. I can see why it would be described like that, but I would never have thought of it had it not been pointed out.
It’s like a hint that is well hidden behind other scents, or a tiny bit of a spice that works well with other spices in a dish. The scent is very pleasant, and yes a little bit on the floral side but not directly flowery.
Just a very nice vanilla scent that is a little bit different than your ordinary vanilla. I am very excited to be making extract from these beans, they were such good quality and smelled fantastic! I chopped them up and plan to let them soak in vodka for a half year, shaking now and again, before baking with the extract.
I received my order in three days. Although, I’ve yet to taste the end result of my vanilla extract, I can only imagine how great it’s going to be. After measuring and chopping the 1lb. of b grade vanilla my hands smelled heavenly for a couple of days (and yes I washed them well, multiple times!) Also, my vodka extract looked as dark as bourbon on the second day (@ ~1.
5x strength. ) I also used sugar to clean the bag it came in and decided to add a cheeky vanilla bean so now I have some delicious vanilla sugar as well. (5 out of 5) I would like to sincerely advise anyone on the bench to give slofood vanilla a try! I’m not an expert but of three places I’ve bought vanilla it’s the best I’ve had so far.
best wishes on all your vanilla making journeys B.
I use my vanilla in many different ways. Right now, I am making 3 gallons of 3x vanilla extract. When I open the 3 gal carboy, heaven envelopes the room. I would never, never ever buy anything vanilla from anyone other than Slofoodgroup.
EVER!! The folks at Slofoodgroup are super. When I order from Slofoodgroup I order with confidence that what will arrive will be much better than the last time. And the last time was unbelievably fantastic.
And they ship ultra super fast. The only reason I gave them 5 stars is because 10 wasn’t a choice. Thank you Michelle and keep up the great work!!!!.
Tahitian vanilla beans from Indonesia are generally shorter, plumper, and contain a much higher oil and water content than Bourbon beans. The aroma is flowery, fruity with a smooth flavor. They are often described as smelling like licorice, cherries, or wine.
Gourmet pastry chefs love to work with the Tahitian (Tahitensis) variety, which are perfect for many applications.
For my first time ever making my own vanilla I bought 5 vanilla beans. Never having purchased beans before I didn’t know what to expect but they were soft and pliable. Upon further reading of how to make vanilla I realized I should have more for the quantity of vodka that I purchased soI ordered another package of 5.
The beans in the second order were all about an inch shorter than the beans on the first order. They were also skinnier and they were dried out. So dried that I could snap them in half. I had slid the point of one of the blades of a small pair of scissors up each of the beans of the first order to open them up before dropping them into the jar in which they were to “season” for months.
With the beans of the second order, I could not get the narrow blade of the scissors to enter the bean pod because it was so skinny and so dry. On most of them, when I pushed, part of the pod just broke away.
Naturally, with the pods being so much smaller the amount of tiny vanilla seeds inside was much less. Very disappointed in the second purchase. I didn’t write a review for the first order because being my first time I didn’t know how they compared to any other beans from anyone else.
If I do this again I will ask on my Facebook cooking group what company has a reliable product. Almost $50 on 10 beans and half were not satisfactory at all.
I’ve used these beans before to make vanilla — previously with vodka; this time I’m trying bourbon. The vodka vanilla was outstanding, but it does take longer than 8 weeks to infuse for a full-flavored vanilla.
(It’s been a while, but I think I wasn’t happy with it until it infused for 4-6 months — and it kept getting better with time!). Can’t wait to see how the bourbon vanilla turns out! :-).
With the Vanilla market making a huge recovery the price of Beanilla vanilla beans is no where near the industry pricing. Amazon has just as good quality vanilla beans for for half to two-thirds the price of vanilla beans found here.
You can also go to Aust and Hachmann to receive vanilla industry updates so that you know where pricing should be and where companies are charging higher than normal prices. As with any product, shop around, do your research and know what you should be paying for quality beans.
Vanilla lovers rejoice! Try our 2X Pure Madagascar Vanilla Extract in your cakes, cookies, frostings, meringues, or puddings. Use half as much as the recipe requires, or use the same amount for twice the intensity.
Made from the highest quality Madagascar “Bourbon Islands” vanilla beans.
So I got some of this vanilla from a little store while visiting family in Okc and it was the absolute best vanilla ever. I wouldn’t say I use a lot of it but I do use it in everything, pretty much, that I make sweet.
I got the 4oz and it lasted almost 2yrs. It’s been in every pancake and piece of French toast , every banana nut loaf, and every bowl of homemade ice cream. Definitely worth the money. P. S. Getting the 8oz this time.
I love vanilla extract. I always add more than the recipe calls for so I thought I’d try this. Now I can use the exact amount and get that extra vanilla taste
Tahitian vanilla has a unique cherry-chocolate aroma that’s a bit more rummy and masculine than other vanillas. This masculinity translates in flavor to a vanilla that boasts of licorice, dark caramel, and bitter chocolate.
It’s the vanilla you want to use in chocolate desserts and caramel sauces. If you enjoy vanilla in savory meals then this is the extract for you. Use Tahitian extract in winter vinaigrettes that will dress salads composed of bitter chicories, kales, and chards.
If you plan to roast some nuts as a snack then toss them with black pepper, salt, olive oil, rosemary, and a bit of Tahitian vanilla for a wildly addictive treat. Our vanilla extracts are not treated with pressure or heat.
This is to ensure only the most pure vanilla flavor possible.
I was so eager to receive this 4 oz. bottle of ‘two-fold’ Tahitian vanilla, but cannot even smell or taste vanilla, ONLY the ethyl alcohol. I used to purchase Zeron double intensity vanilla and it truly was a glorious perfume of vanilla but they no longer make it, so I turned to this ‘two-fold’ in the hope of discovering a new go-to product.
I paid double for shipping plus exchange rate … total over $76 for a very small bottle of ethyl alcohol hand sanitizer. Worse purchase ever! Buyer beware!.
This is the real deal. The aroma has a strong cherry vibe, almost like cherry cough syrup (but in a good way). My first time using this extract was in Stella Parks’s coconut cake. The coconut swiss buttercream uses Tahitian vanilla beans as well as Tahitian extract.
The combination added a real depth of flavor that worked well with the tropical flavor of the coconut oil in the frosting.
I did not bake with this all I can tell you is putting it in my soy milk for cereal or just to drink was incredible. Same as putting it in my plain yogurt with a teaspoon of sugar or maple syrup. It’s a Wonderful Flavour I actually liked it more than regular vanilla and I cannot believe I am 50 years old and never tried it.
I mean I like both types of vanilla but I was pleasantly surprised with this one and it’s something a little bit more special. I would get it especially as a gift for the person that admires stuff like that and is into Simple Pleasures.
Madagascar is famous for the abundance and flavor of its vanilla beans, but the vanilla orchid vines of this island country actually came from Mexico. Our extract is double strength, so reduce what your recipe calls for by half, which can be important for white cakes and frosting.
Also available in Madagascar Vanilla Single Strength Extract, Tahitian Vanilla Extract, or Mexican Vanilla Extract. Visit our blog to learn more about Madagascar vanilla and discover new recipes.
The vanilla has perfect flavor. I use it in many baked goods and in French toast. I’ve been buying all of my spices at The Spice House since the late 1900’s. I used to go into the shop in Evanston. That was always a treat because it smelled so great in there and the staff was always helpful and informative.
We moved to Indiana in 2008 and I ordered my spices by mail. I was always pleased with the service. We are back in Illinois but we live quite a long way from a Spice House shop so I’m still buying by mail.
I continue to be a fan of the service and products from the Spice House. I often tell others how lucky we are to have such a quality shop nearby.
This is a beautiful vanilla. I do not think I will purchase any other type after tasting this. I am a baker so vanilla is very important in the final baked good. This is a soft lingering vanilla that stays on the tongue.
It is slightly floral and I do mean slightly. It is smooth like fine wine and very delicate. It really compliments baked goods. I even put it in my oatmeal and in my yogurt parfaits in the mornings. I love it!.
This double strength is just heaven! When you open the bottle the smell immediately makes you happy!!! Quality is unsurpassed. I ran out and wanted the 8oz that was out of stock. I purchased a foofy madagascar bourbon that was supposed to be double strength and was aged in french oak.
Sounds amazing right? Well it didn’t even come close!.

I’ve tried many different brands of vanilla over the years and this is the very best I’ve found. I use it in all my baking. It has a very strong aroma that brings back memories of baking with my grandmother.
It enhances everything you add it to. It’s totally worth every drop. You won’t be disappointed. Makes all your recipes the best. It makes an awesome gift too.
The best vanilla extract I’ve ever used! This has been my choice ever since my grandparents introduced me to it in the 1980s. They would bring it back after wintering in Guadalajara, and it made my milkshakes so much better! More recently, I’ve become a hobbyist baker, and La Vencedora gives my baked goods that little “something extra.
“If you love good vanilla flavor (and frankly, who doesn’t?), this is the one.
I just used the last of my previous bottle of this vanilla and don’t want my kitchen or cooking to be without it. Because it contains no alcohol, the strength of the flavoring is far superior to regular store bought vanilla extract.
I love to use it especially in puddings, etc where one is not “cooking off” the alcohol found in other vanilla flavorings. I believe I use less quantity of this product in foods because of the superiority of depth and flavor.
As it is a large bottle of product i’ve found it also “Keeps” well for years of use.
Style:3.3 Ounce Single sourced, using grade-a Mexican vanilla beans. Imported from Mexico – bottled in the united states. Diploma of honor, gold medal first prize, Mexico.
The smell as you pop the cork is like entering a candy factory. The essence of pure vanilla overwhelms you. Taste it. stick your little finger in and indulge. One bottle will last us for years, its ample.
But once you’ve experienced this stuff, the good stuff, you’ll never use another brand. Blue Cattle Truck. The good stuff.
This is truly real vanilla. I bought vanilla at the local grocery store and not only did it not look like vanilla, more like water, it didn’t smell like it or taste like it. Blue Cattle Truck Trading Original Mexican Vanilla has a rich color and even richer smell and taste.
It is the best Vanilla I have had in my mouth in years !.
It is my favorite vanilla. I usually have to order it directly from Blue Truck. I was so happy to find it through Walmart. It was delivered the next day after placing my order. Why don’t you carry it on the shelf? This is the best vanilla ever!!!! Thanks.

This stuff is literally powdered gold. I mean, first of all I have never taken any powder dry and I am really picky with taste, but this stuff is genuinely delicious. Further, I’m really happy to have a natural follistatin supplement (proprietary name Fortetropin).
One serious inhibitor of gaining muscle in the gym for a natural bodybuilder like myself (no steroids) is myostatin. Follistatin is a difficult compound to find in the diet and reduces myostatin levels in the blood.
Having a supplement that can help reduce myostatin is infinitely helpful in building muscle, and long term use of such a compound should have amazing effects. Thus far my gains on doing well, looking forward to more gains as time goes on!.
I have been searching for a myostatin inhibitor for years since MYO-X was discontinued sometime around 2016. I had phenomenal results with that product and am now thrilled to have found this product by Yolked on the market! I am an older body building female who is finding it increasingly difficult to maintain muscle bulk as I age, no matter how much resistance training I do.
I’ve reviewed the clinical trials and know firsthand that for myself the myostatin inhibitors work. Thank you for bringing this product to market!.
I was looking for a way to stop the blood flow to my heart and I finally found it! I just got finished with a triple bypass plus pace maker combo and it is all thanks to yoked! It was a painfully amazing experience and I won’t trade the scarvdown the middle of my chest for nothing.
so bad ***! The only recommendation is to maybe make an extra strength version with even higher levels of cholesterol for those of us who are serious about premature death and high blood pressure gains! Thanks!.
Our single fold pure vanilla extract is made from a blend of premium vanilla beans, infused in small batches & aged for 180 days for exceptional flavor. Buy now.
I mainly use vanilla in baking, I bake to take cookies to work for large groups of hiking trail maintenance volunteers. I doubt that people would notice the difference between the Single Fold and one of the more expensive varieties in my cakes and cookies.
My wife thinks it is good, but I’m not a foodie and probably couldn’t tell the difference between this and McCormick’s. It is more economical than most store and on-line offerings and I like the fact it comes in a glass bottle vs.
plastic. My last 8 oz bottle only lasted 9 months so I bought a 16 oz bottle the second time around. The only complaints I have are an over abundance of bubble wrap in packaging and that it is pretty easy to crack the cap.
That said, my single bottle order came well protected. I had to laugh at all the shipping options. I’m good at planning ahead and not over paying for shipping. Free is GOOD!.
I am an avid baker and go through bottles of vanilla very quickly. This was an exciting find because not only is it more affordable than most brands but it’s also very high quality. I received my order in less than a week and I am super happy with my purchase! Highly recommend!.
I have long enjoyed Nielsen-Massey vanilla. I tried Slofoodgroup 3 bean vanilla and was found that it had an amazing flavor. Actually like this better NM vanilla. Most subtle flavor notes with complex flavor bouquet.
Would highly recommend this for anyone who is a vanilla connoisseur.
I’ve used Morton and Bassett ages ago and absolutely loved their vanilla extract. I was thrilled to find it at vitacost which ships to India (I have relocated from the US a couple of years ago). The bottles arrived very well packed – I was impressed.
But to my dismay they’ve changed the extract composition. It tastes so so weak and has no aroma except that of mild alcohol. I bought three bottles and wish I hadn’t wasted my money. Please don’t buy this.
This Premium Vanilla does not even smell like vanilla. You only get the smell of alcohol with very little vanilla taste. The product was not sealed as stated – just a lose cap. I don’t know what it is but it is definitely not pure vanilla extract.
The color of the vanilla extract seems off… too light and cloudy. The taste is weakly vanilla. It seems like it has been watered down. If not, this brand is horrible and not worth the money.
Sculpted from over a decade of engineering advancement and a rich lineage of predecessors, the new Vanford tests the boundaries of technology and engineering found in spinning reels. Built upon a CI4+ body for both a lightweight feel and carbon rigidity, the Vanford incorporates a MagnumLite (MGL) Rotor for up to 48% less rotational inertia than traditional rotor construction for a quick response in critical situations.
The Vanford features Shimano’s cold-forged HAGANE Gear and many of Shimano’s premium technologies for increased fishing performance and years of durability. Vanford’s SilentDrive and MicroModule Gear II technologies combine to produce a new level of smooth rotational performance while reducing overall reel vibration.
Vanford also incorporates Long Stroke Spool technology to increase casting distance while producing a smoother line lay on the spool during retrieval. X-Protect technology and water-channeling construction enhance Vanford’s water resistance and overall durability — an important feature for a reel sure to be found in inshore environments.
From ice fishing and drop-shot fishing for smallies in the sweetwater to stalking tailing fish in the flats, the Vanford has no equal. A legend is born. Note: The Vanford 500 (VF500F) does not include the following features: MGL Rotor, MicroModule Gear II, X-Protect Body or Long Stroke Spool.
I just bought my second Vanford 3000 to use on the Tennessee River in North Alabama for smallmouth and striped bass fishing. I much prefer the 3000 to the 2500, since the reels weight exactly the same, but the 3000 holds 30 more yards of monofilament line.
That extra capacity means that when drift-fishing in the current, I have a little cushion to keep me from having all my line stripped off my reel if I don’t react quickly enough to retrieve my lure. I mounted my Vanfords on two different St.
Croix spinning rods – a 6’6″ Med Lt Fast Action Avid, and a 6’10” Med Lt Extra Fast Action Mojo Bass (my favorite rod) – and rig both reels with ~ 100 yds. of 8 lb. Berkley Trilene Big Game as backing and ~ 75 yds.
of 10 lb. Berkley Nanofil, with 6 ft. of 8 lb. Berkley Trilene Big Game as the leader. I use Quadruple Surgeon’s Knots for the backing to line and line to leader connections with good success. The Vanfords are extremely light, extremely durable and smooth, and fit my medium size hands much better than the Daiwa Tatula in the same spool size.
(The space between the reel foot and the rotor is too small on the Tatula, which results in the bail hitting my fingers while reeling. ) I own two Shimano Stradic 3000 FJ’s and two Shimano Stradic 3000 Ci4+ reels, and while the four Stradics are excellent reels for the money, the Vanfords are even better.
This review concerns the Vanford 500. I have no experience with the other sizes of Vanford. I have several Stradic Ci4+ reels from the 1000 up. There’s never been a Ci4+ available in a 500 size, so I’ve been using a Symetre 500, which, after many years, is badly worn.
So I was thrilled when Shimano announced the Vanford 500. I ordered one. There’s a irritating pulse with each turn of the crank. It took me a few weeks to find the cause of the problem. There is play in the main gear bearings.
The handle can be rocked back and forth a few thousandths. This causes the pulse when retrieving. None of my other reels have this problem. I showed it to the fishing guys at Basspro. They proclaimed it a manufacturer’s defect.
Since they didn’t have a replacement in stock, Basspro gave me a refund and I ordered another one online. The replacement had the same problem right outa the box. I showed it to the same experts at Basspro and got my refund.
If I can find a Vanford 500 in a store where I can examine it before I buy it, I’ll buy it, IF I can find a good one.
This is my second Vanford, already have the 4000 size and wanted a 2500 to pair with a new Zodias Rod. Vanford’s were the first time I’ve ventured into the mid tier reel market and I am thoroughly impressed.
The reel is so smooth and super light. There’s no free play in the handle and it casts extremely well. There’s plenty of videos around of how these perform if you’re still on the fence. I’m also a fan of the colour combo and aesthetics and it matches perfectly with the colours of the Zodias rod.
The old saying you get what you pay for certainly rings true with this reel!.
Montale Vanilla Extasy is an oriental vanilla fragrance that was designed for women. It was launched in 2008. The maker of this perfume is Pierre Montale.
SOTD is Full Incense by Montale is a Amber Woody fragrance for women and men. Full Incense was launched in 2010. The nose behind this fragrance is Pierre Montale. Full incense is a fragrance dominated by the Somalia incense note, rounded by elemi and labdanum resins, cedar and patchouli, according to Fragrantica.
[unpaid ad-product bought with my money] This is similar with Cardinal (Heeley), Avignon (CdG), and Fille en Aiguilles (Lutens). To my nose this is a closer replica of Catholic church incense than Avignon.
Also, it performs significantly better. Sometimes Avignon comes across as soapy. there is nothing soapy about Full Incense by Montale. Out of all four forementioned, I think Full Incense is the best, with Avignon being a close second.
They are quite similar in smell, but FI is a bit more resinous, with a super slight peppery note that accents the incense beautifully. Churchy-like incense, with some smoky sweetness. The incense note is rounded by elemi, labdanum resins and cedar.
Smoky, warm and meditative. This is a glorious scent that differs just a bit from Avignon’s subtle “cranberry” note. For me FI it might just be too linear and simple, lacking complexity. You cannot go wrong with either one, but I do think that FI is overall a better product, with a longer, more complex development.
Avignon is much softer IMO which I also like but prefer the Montale. I believe it’s redundant to own both, but some rumours says that FI was reformulated and it’s not anymore the fragrance that used to be, so for that reason imo it’s much better to sampling both and see which one you’ll like.
The original formulation was ground breaking absolutely and the scent is very likable considering how copied fragrance is. The magic is the birch, the darker and the darker smokier notes to this and of course the sweetness comes from pineapple, there is this fullness to it as well where it’s just perfectly blended.
If you’re into fragrances like Drakkar Noir, Black XS and Armani Code this will most likely be your next favorite fragrance as they are all a similar style. However none smell exactly the same. My issues are two from giving this a perfect rating.
Firstly it’s inconsistent. This perfumer on youtube Aaron Terrence Hughes who his full time job is being a perfumer and not a shill trying to sell us watered down EDT. He did a great review of 3 different batches this was made and was surprised with how different each bottle smelled.
Sure Polo Green (Ralph Lauren) among others have been reformulated significantly but for the price Creed goes for you’d think that they would be the source for the pineapples, the birch trees and all but no! Really what are we paying for if they can’t produce a consistent product the history, the hype? I’d say go with one of the many, many copies instead because this isn’t the longest lasting fragrance.
Al Haramain L’Adventure, Club De Nuit Intense by Armaf and all the others are my pick. If you’ve got the money though go with Creed, it’s a great fragrance so I’m not talking bad about it but I can’t stomach 400$ for something that doesn’t last 12+ hours and project like a beast.
Oudmazing is a very vintage smelling scent to me. I think it smells like something someone in my childhood wore, though I couldn’t say what! Officially, this one has a huge list of notes that make up the blend: orange, bergamot, pear, fig, iris, jasmine, patchouli, leather, vanilla, pink grape and white musk! Right off the top I do get something sweet, along with that iris note standing out strong.
As the scent develops on the skin, it warms up to allow the patchouli, leather, and musk notes to come through. I really don’t get much of a fruity vibe from this, other than the sweetness right off the bat.
While I do think there’s something vintage and mature about this scent, it’s still very wearable to me. I think it does make a statement, so it’s not going to be right for every person every day, but certainly great for a night out, or maybe a “smell like a boss” vibe.
It seems to give me a self esteem and a confidence boost, because I like the way I feel wearing it!.
