It’s okay for the price. I used it for some minor testing because I didn’t have my usual DMM with me. It performed good. However in my first use the red lead front came out and was stuck in an outlet as I was pulling it out.

Thankfully the connection wire inside wasn’t broken so I pushed the front in back and it seems to be holding. I don’t know if it’s made like that, for the front to come out if needed, but I don’t like that.

Otherwise it looks like it’s working fine. Oh, one thing – while it was in the outlet measuring 120VAC I mistakenly/absent-mindededly turned the selector to the right to DC current and there was a noise like a fuse blowing inside.

Lol. Since I don’t use it to measure current and the other selections are working fine I don’t give it much thought. But remember, don’t change while meter is testing voltage. It doesn’t seem to have the protection Fluke meters have.

I recommend this for casual projects around the house.

This thing is nothing special, which is exactly what it should be. It works fine. I mainly use it for continuity testing, though I’ve done some other stuff like measuring the voltage coming from power supplies and checking resistance and so on.

It works fine. It’s your standard cheap multimeter. Would be nice if the different holes lit up depending on the mode to tell you what to plug the probes into. You’ll quickly forget what goes where, trust me.

But hey it’s cheap, and for the price this thing works great. It’s not a fluke, but you’re also not paying fluke prices, and it does what it sets out to do so you really can’t complain. If you just need a cheap multimeter, this works great.

The multimeter worked fairly well for a while, but stopped working, probably because I overloaded it when measuring current. When I opened it up to fix it, I saw that a fat PCB trace had overheated to the point of delaminating and partially burning away, leaving an open circuit.

It was silver in color, despite having been originally covered by the solder mask, suggesting that the trace was made of aluminum. When I tried repairing the connection (which I recognize may affect the accuracy), I found that I could not nicely solder a wire across the gap, further indicating that the trace was probably aluminum.

I recognize that I messed up by overloading the multimeter, but that should blow a fuse, not a PCB trace. So now I have to get a new multimeter, and I’m looking for one that will blow a fuse instead of requiring a replacement if I make such a mistake again.

I’ve had this meter for a few years and use it primarily for AC and DC voltage readings, checking continuity and checking resistance of resistors in electronic circuits. I’ve used it some to check capacitance, diodes and microamps but not enough to comment on those features.

I think it’s a good meter for the money. Here are a few things I hate about it though. The leads for clipping on to circuits are of a very poor quality. My have broken and been repaired and now finally replaced with some high quality ones.

Time and arteries saved. I have a love-hate relationship with the timed on/off. I like the battery saving feature however, it is a timed only feature that cannot be adjusted as far as I can tell. It would seem that if I use the system – like if the resistance measured goes from open to 1K, or a voltage is measured(again from 0 to say 5V) that the timer would reset because I’m actively using the meter.

But it doesn’t. It will just turn off without regard to whether you are using it. The swing out stand in the back needs a tab or something that you can grip to pull it out. The hole isn’t useful to get the stand out.

I put a piece of clear tape on mine to make a tab I can grab. Otherwise its back to high blood pressure land. Finally, the magnets are good and bad. I really like that they can be removed. When on the device, I have had the magnets grab components, cables, leads, tools, and if they were metal I’m sure it would pick up a small child.

Thankfully I was able to easily remove them because I don’t need them!It would be great too if in ohmmeter mode, when checking continuity with the audible beep feature it would display actual resistance too.

There comes a time taking electronics seriously that you outgrow a $10-15 meter and need a step up. This is it. I needed to measure capacitance, true RMS for square waves, temperature of heat sinks and the transistor hFE (aka beta aka gain).

This multimeter does it all! Tighter accuracy on voltage and current, auto-range for voltage and the pushbutton backlight were also appreciated. For ~$30, I was very pleased. The two things that took me a day to adjust to were the ‘input’ slot for the red (positive) probe is only to measure voltage and switching between continuity (diode) and resistance mode on the same setting with the ‘select’ button.

Is fine and how other meters work, just not my old one. Having two meters proved useful where I could measure voltage and current at the same time. If you’re new to multimeters, you have to measure current in series since it divides in parallel.

Voltage works the opposite way. I like how even turned off, the meter with red probe in a current slot still preserved the circuit working. After a week of use, I upgraded the probes with a gold plated set that included IC hooks.

No multimeter comes with a gold probe set so not a knock against this one and the set didn’t have the banana to banana probes included here. Packaging is nice and sturdy. Meter isn’t getting damaged in the mail.

This is my review after owning my multimeter for two years. I am very happy overall with the product. Easy to use and according to other online user testers, very accurate. What is really amazing is that somewhere along the line I misplaced my unit’s thermocouple.

Not a necessity, but handy to have around when needed. I contacted AstroAI customer service and asked for information to purchase a new one. They responded by saying they were shipping me a new one free of charge.

What company does this! After two years from the purchase date! Obviously a company that cares about their customers. I have purchased other AstroAI products and found them to be very good quality with very good pricing.

As an electrician I have owned so many different makes and models of these. This one is the best for a few reasons: 1. ) different colour upon voltage 2. ) loud audio upon voltage 3. ) flashlight is a nice touch….

Great for snooping around in boxes. Any tool that is a double tool is great as it saves the weight from my pouch. 4. ) dual range of voltage means you can test circuits and be sure you’re not just picking up nominal voltage.

But #5…. #5 is where it hits home. It’s WATERPROOF. That is why it’s the best. The reason I’ve been through so many of these is I keep leaving them in my darn pocket and then washing them. Well ladies and gentlemen, after owning it for 5 days only I just accidentally washed my tester AND IT STILL WORKS!!!! Please, Klein, take all my money.

Bought this and loved it for a year. Dropped it 1. 5 ft on concrete floor and hard plastic battery cap broke – now useless. Searched site, could not find replacement parts. Battery cap under high stress due to spring and battery weight underneath.

Poor selection of material used in battery cap. Should be thicker hard plastic or more flexible material.

It has been a reliable and accurate means of detecting energized and de energized circuits keeping you safe. Detects low and high voltages 12-1000V. Both audible and visual alerts. Great sensitivity to determine energized components from de energized circuits even in close proximity to one another.

Infrared thermometer allows you to point and shoot to gather a quick temperature reading at less than 1/3 the size of a regular temperature laser gun. Many other features include back lit display, water and dust resistance, and auto off to save battery.

My device came with my Hughes Autoformer and is plugged into a wall outlet that can be clearly seen by me anytime I’m inside my trailer. It’s amazing how voltage changes over the course of the day. One side benefit it works great as a night light.

Having one is your preference but knowledge of your AC voltage readings in your RV is comforting.

I wanted a simple means to monitor the voltage on my portable generator(s) when connected to my RV. Voltage below 108VAC is generally considered detrimental to the electronics and it’s easy to get below this range when running microwave and other items simultaneously.

Plugged this into the outlet in the kitchen so we could easily decide when it’s time to turn something off.

When I got this meter I tried it out on several locations and and found voltage differences were everywhere. Even at my own home, the fix was easy but I didn’t know there was low voltage where I usually use my power tools.

There isn’t anything I would change about this product. The user interface is simple. The self-test feature is imperative. I especially like the small lights that shine back down the pole.

For years I’ve been using an inexpensive multimeter that I got for free from my favorite discount tool store. It worked, but I always had to look online for how to do this and that with a cheap multimeter, including testing air conditioner capacitors.

My air conditioner went out last week and I decided to fix it myself, which gave me the perfect reason to buy a good multimeter. I decided on this one based on features–especially its auto-range function–and price.

I am very pleased. It even measures farads and gave readings that perfectly match the new dual-run capacitor that I installed on my AC. The temperature probe is a nice feature, and it seems to be accurate.

So, if you’re not a pro and don’t need a professional-grade multimeter, this is an exceptional product at a great price. And it you don’t really know which ohm settings to choose or any other functions on a multimeter, the auto-ranging on this one does the thinking for you.

I bought this to measure current. it does so well, up to 10amps. It has a feature I did not need: it can measure temperature. The probe to do so was flimsey and broke as soon as my dog found it. Dog destroys everything, but I still found this feature useless.

Note: 5 stars despite the temp probe being worthless. If you actually want a temp probe, maybe get a thermometer.

Most people that buy digital meters. only know how to use one or two settings. These work just fine for people like that and even people that will use all the different settings. They are inexpensive but still a good meter.

I’ve used fluke for the last 15 years on an almost daily basis but these are just fine for a home owner or a DIY car repair.

Transformer seems to work as it should. Meter is too small, and has a limited span, so it can only get you into the “neiborhood” of the desired voltage. I use a VOM to set the voltage accurately. I modified mine by installing a IEC power socket for the mains input.

It stores more easily without the power cord permanently sticking out the front.

I ordered this variac Transformer because I have a hobby collecting and restoring vintage and antique tube radios, and having the ability to power up a radio gradually that has been in storage for years is not only safest but also helps to revive old components rather than damage them with todays higher residential voltages.

Very basic product which does exactly what I needed. The quality looks good and I found it at a good price.

I bought this variac to break in speakers. It does its job of transforming electricity. Its built solidly and the switch, meter, power cord and plug socket are quality units. The dial to adjust the current is either mounted off center or the shaft is bent a little as the know wobbles off center as you adjust it.

Also, the voltage markings for the adjuster are off by a bit so you need a multimeter to know exactly what voltage is being put out.

Product preforms as described. Arrived sooner than the estimated delivery date. Tested it out, look forward to using it on an actual project. Purchased it to control the speed of a portable belt sander.

A loss of torque at the slower RPM’s, but that’s the physics. Heavier than I expected, which in this unit is good.

It works and seems to be built fairly well. Be sure to check your output voltage before you connect anything important to it because the scale on top isn’t accurate. It’s reasonably close up to about an indicated 45V, but the higher you go the further off it gets.

At an indicated 105 volts it’s actually putting out right at 120 volts according to my true RMS multimeter. An indicated 120 volts is actually over 135 volts output.

It helps in a pinch for those pesky 18 V pedals. If you only have a few pedals on your board and don’t want to buy an expensive power supply it definitely does the job. I feel it is a bit overpriced but I did not see any other brands or Cheeper options.

Does the job well and in a compact size. Cheaper than some of the alternatives and works seemlessly with my Strymon Ojai too

Sure, it’s lightweight, switching power supply instead of of the “heavies” which use a heavy and stable step-down transformer. Switch supplies have got a bad name over the years, primarily because of the RF hash they are prone to produce on nearby AM/SSB receivers.

But, this unit produces no HF interference. Indeed, I have several other switching supplies which do not either — not a bit. On the other hand, I have had switching supplies that I needed to toss away, or not use anywhere my ham shack equipment.

Switching supplies seem to have improved over recent years, proving that the inherent RF noise they produce can be suppressed. I do have a heavy, DC-transformer 40-amp supply, and this switching supply makes no more noise than the “big boy.

” There is also almost no AC riffle leak-thru; another bane of some switching supplies. This supply will give you want you want in a bench supply. For those hobbyists and folks who need a variable output power supply – and who doesn’t for testing and equipment operation, this will fill the bill.

Like most switchers, it’s small and light, taking up little bench space, and provides the wide range of DC voltages advertised. The digital readouts are a plus, and tested against a calibrated VTVM, are accurate to within one-tenth of a volt or ampere.

Of course I would always rather have a conventional DC-transformed, rectified and filtered supply, but had all switchers performed as well as this one did, I might not feel that way. :).

I bought this power supply along with a set of power jacks for testing electronics like toys, radios, routers, and possibly the odd laptop. Its rated output is ample for this purpose and the controls are intuitive and precise.

The indicated voltage and current seem to be within the margin of error of my cheapo multimeter. It runs cool due to the fan which varies based on the load. When running, the fan is relatively quiet and has a hushed sound due to being muffled inside the unit.

It’s light (about 4 lbs), but feels well-built due to the metal case and sturdy knobs. I tested it on a few electronics I had laying around and they all worked fine, as expected. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this unit.

It works well and is accurate enough. It seems to have a warning about an inductive load. I do have intention of inductive loads so i have to be careful i presume. I am not sure why this is but it is very light and that suggests its a switcher and they are sensitive to feed back pulses.

This may be a problme but for the money its great.

Safety always comes first when working with electricity. The Amprobe TIC 300 makes checking for live circuits easy and most importantly safe. Being several feet away from a live circuit gives us a sense of reassures.

The wide range of voltages makes it nice to check low voltage and medium voltage without having to get another probe out. We have truly enjoyed having this probe on site.

I like this tester,it realy works the way i want. The warning lights for both low and hight voltage are a good aspect of this item. I would recommend this product for sure to anyone. One who use this product should also use the extended stick sold separatly,it make the hight voltage detector more useful especialy when approching hight voltage.

The variac is great value for the price I paid for it. It works very well for my intended purpose, which is to bring up the supply voltage of a tube audio amplifier slowly in case it has problems, an amplifier that I had not used for many years.

The voltage scale is graduated quite accurately and matches the multimeter reading relatively well. The variacs maximum setting is also high enough so that I was able to use a dim-bulb current limiter in series with the amplifier the first time I powered up the amplifier.

I have to bring up that this is the second variac I purchased from the supplier. The first one was received damaged and was returned to the supplier at their cost. The refund was made to my account the same day I took the variac to FedEx.

It was a bother but the supplier was very professional about the return. I am a happy customer.

The first one I received the volt meter didn’t work, the return was fast and easy I got the second one in a few days its been working great. So far I used it to slow my wife’s mixer so she can make her pumpkin pies without all the mess and slow my Dremel tool to check for straightness drill and grinding accessories.

I have many more uses in mind. I could do it cheaper with a router but I always wanted a Variac.

A rather nice “Variac” for the price. Very useful for bringing up line voltage on old equipment that has been sitting idle for years or decades. Classic General Radio and “Variacs” are nice, but hard to find.

These do the job! And available in up to 3 KVA versions.

This little converter works great. It does not seem to overheat or even get warm, even though it is mounted in an external disconnect box. My peak power of 51V gets down to the 12V expectation just as advertised.

The mounting holes are in good position.

Bought this item to power up the 12 volt lights and accessories on my 36 volt golf cart. I went with the 15 amp unit (instead of the 10 amp) for a bit of power reserve. Its up and running, no problems, and now I don’t have to worry what is going on with the charging rate of the two 12 volt batteries in the 36 volt pack that originally were used to obtain the necessary 12 volts.

The converter broke up on the second day. It gave direct 50 vdc to my led flood lights and fried them all, I lost over 100 euro value led lights+ the converter. The product is valueless. Strongly not recommended.

I love it. Chargers quick and keeps three different brands of batteries charged in rotation with no problems whatsoever. I use Molicel 18650 p28 35a batteries and one Samsung 18650 30q battery for a Voopoo Argus X vape and a Voopoo Drag X Plus Vape and I use the charger for Imren 18650 25rs batteries that I use in a flashlight cuz honestly Imren batteries are trash besides for a flashlight but even then they get hot after awhile so I would suggest stay away from wack *** Imren but Molicel p28 35a are my favorite batteries and stay charged for like ever.

This charger is a nice step up from the previous Nitecore i2 charger that has served me for a decade. Some notable features include dt/dv charging for Alkaline batteries. This allows the standard AA, AAA batteries to be fully charged instead of stoping at immediately at the peak voltage.

The screen is nice and helps with giving a view on the health of the batteries such as making sure they are being drained equally and not being drained too much (Li-ion). D(4) has four charging slots and will divide 1500 mAh charge between how many are being used.

2 slots used = 750 mAh per cell and so on. It will automatically pick the correct charging method but I noticed bad Alkaline cells will make it choose the wrong one ( no safety issues, just a good indicator that your cell is going/gone bad).

Ordered 2 new 18650 batteries for my HC60 headlamp and a new intellicharger. The USPS package was torn open, but everything that was ordered was there. I have been satisfied with Nitecore products, as an aircraft mechanic I put the headlamps through the wringer, wearing it almost 10hrs a day.

I have to buy new batteries about every 1. 5 yrs. They hold up well and are much more affordable than the competition. Would highly recommend for professional use!.

I got the Klein noncontact Voltage Tester to use at work. I am a build lead and part of my responsibility is running doen problems and checking connections. I have trusted Klein fir all my electrical tools for a long time and as a professional, I stand by them.

This voltage tester is simple to use and gives you a reading super quick. It is an easy fit in my shirt pocket and does the job right. It is even helpful at home when I need to run down a bad outlet.

Simple testers at half the price are much less confusing for basic live wire identification and trouble shooting. This sophisticated and flexible tester is much more sensitive than the basic testers, and it is also capable of confusing the inexperienced user.

But, for an advanced user, it can trace and find breaks in every kind of wire path – from a USB power source, to a doorbell system, to an LED light fixture, all the way up to the wires coming into and leaving the circuit breaker panel.

And, if you need to find broken or failed connections in existing wiring without tearing the walls apart, this could be just the ticket. Useful also if you need to add new outlets or switches in existing homes.

Why? Because it is quite capable of tracing the paths of live wires behind walls. With it you can practically see through the wall by scanning along the surface with the tester held about an inch from the surface.

To make sense of what the tester is indicating, you must have a basic notion of how electric wires are installed and routed inside the walls in a typical home. Also, to keep your sanity in the face of false voltage indications, youll need to develop the trick of desensitizing the tester by holding the tester with your finger resting near its tip to eliminate most false positive indications.

Where you have LED lamps and dimmer switches, the tester can easily be fooled by the kind of electrical noise generated by these devices, but the finger method has worked well for me. Lucky for me to have discovered this trick, because I have many dimmable LED lamps in my house.

All in all, for my advanced projects and puzzling electrical faults, this tester now holds a place of honor next to my venerable and reliable two dollar neon lamp tester.

I bought one from Home Depot many years ago. It would not work the other day. Tonight, I tried to change the batteries. They are so old they had been leaking, with white chemicals visible in the clear plastic in the nose.

This is a very small device, so getting the batteries out was a challenge. I needed to make a removal tool with a large paperclip. All for nothing as there is too much corrosion. Annoying that failing to change the batteries means I’ll have to buy one again.

The cheapest price I could find for a new Vgreen 2. 7 online. Installed on a tristar pump. Very quiet and seems to run efficiently. Display setting is nice in that is shows the power consumption (watts).

Came with a quick start guide and manual. Easy to program with intuitive controls. I would verify the date of manufacture and warranty info with the manufacturer (Regal/Century). Overall, pleased with this motor.

Seems well built. It is heavy so may need a helping hand when installing. Read complaints online of the display panel failing when exposed to rain so buying a motor cover/housing may be advisable (or a DIY plastic bin would work).

Easy installation. Replaced a Hayward EcoStar SP3400VSP without trouble except the power wire locations were different enough that the wiring needed to be lengthened a couple of inches. Had to install a junction box and a longer Liquidtight whip.

Quiet. Wish it had digital inputs like the smaller Vgreen 165 has. Not too bad to program but a more modern UI would be better.

So far very impressed with this motor, its very quiet compared to my old motor and I love how you can run it at any speed you desire and can program three different time schedules at different speeds in a given 24 hour cycle.

Got my first electric bill that included 100% usage of this pump, it was a hotter month than the previous month by an average of 2 degrees 77 vs. 75 so based on comparisons of other homes in my area the similar and efficient homes all showed an increase in usage over the prior month ranging from +3 kwh to +18kwh respectively.

My usage is usually way above both of these categories, I am usually 50% higher than similar homes and 100% higher than the efficient homes. So I would estimate my usage would have gone up by maybe 50 kwh but to my surprise my usage DROPPED by 57 kwh! Since I know my 2 A/C units, (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs) were both working overtime over this billing cycle, we had daytime highs as high as 110, this pump clearly saved me a lot of electricity way more than the 57 kwh reflected in this bill.

I will be able to tell more accurately once I get a month where the averages drop back to the 75 degrees of the prior month or other similar prior months averages.

I’ve had one of these in my pocket for the last 5 years! It’s like a 6th sense for electricity! It’s also a bright little flashlight handy to have for digging around in dark spots! Some reviewers complain it can’t detect electricity behind 3/4 sheet-rock from a foot away.

Of course it can’t, it’s not meant to, and in many cases metal shielded cable and boxes are used inside walls which no non-contact meter will detect. It’s the size of a AA battery, and detects AC current in un-shielded wires from around 6 inches away without a dense barrier like wall board in the way.

If you put it within a few inches of live AC in (Non Shielded) cables, it indicates red, and warning blue from around a foot. That’s it’s job, to double check before you touch a live wire. Even then I always backhand any wires before I start splicing, safety first!.

Light works well. Power sensor is sensitive enough to tell the difference between 0V and hot even right next to each other. It seems to clearly show if there is power right there(solid red) or nearby(blue), and if there is no power nearby the indicator stays off.

Use it every day. The LVD1A just doesn’t last. I have 4 of them that have stopped working setting on my desk. It works great when it is working, however the life of the unit is very short. For $40. 00 the unit should last longer.

I like this product so much that I put one in my camper and my sailboat to monitor the incoming voltage.

It’s exactly what I wanted and seems to work well I connected it to a fuse block. The only thing you have to realize is when you do connect it it’s going to make a spark don’t get concerned.

I needed a new tester for projects around the house. I like to be safe when working on wiring and switches and this tester works perfectly. I have always thought highly of Klein tools and these testers are no exception.

They are well made and should last a lifetime. Just be sure to take out the batteries if it is not going to be used for a long time. The sensitivity is quite good and will come in handy when locating the christmas tree lights that always go out.

I sometimes repair and/or install light fixtures, switches and receptacles. The one tool is very helpful in verifying that the circuits are not energized when I’m working on them. It’s built in flashlight is very handy when working in low light conditions.

The other tool lets you know more specifically what you are dealing with.

As a homeowner that has undertaken many home improvement projects I always say having the right tools is half the job. I had never invested in electrical testing tools, but after years of to many shocks I decided now was the time.

These are quality tools that will hold up and do the job. No more shocks so far.
