20 Best Vaseline For Lips (2022 Updated)

I have been using Vaseline Lip Therapy original or cherry daily for 25 plus years. The product contents itself is 5 stars but the new container redesign is a horrible flop in functionality, sanitation, and general aesthetics.

The old dome style could be applied from any angle and didn’t have a front and back so could easily feel it in my purse and apply without looking while driving or in the dark after climbing into bed at night as part of my routine.

Now I have to look for the opening and see if there is a gob already on it. Old style had a small hole and you had to squeeze but the new style has a big opening and usually the stick on the cap pulls a gob out accidentally.

This large opening also makes it not sanitary since germs can easily get inside and multiply. The tube itself now looks like prescription ointment and is embarrassing to use in front of other people.

My son agrees and refuses to use it since it looks like lip medication as if you have a disease and the girly slant tip looks like lipstick. Looks like a lot of other reviewers agree that they need to go back to the dome top so fingers crossed.

I’ve heard the Original Lip Tin has been discontinued, so I grabbed this tube instead. I couldn’t figure out that was happening to my lips – they were stinging, burning, rashy, cracking. The more vaseline I applied, the worst it got.

I even went to the doctor, who said I was having an allergic reaction to something. Finally I compared the ingredients of the old original and the new one. The ingredients are different – mainly the addition of perfume in the new one.

When I stopped using it, my lips got better. I’ve taken to just using the 100% petroleum healing jelly and they seem much better. I feel like they shouldn’t make it seem like the same product if it’s different ingredients!.

I have been using Vasaline Lip Therapy for years. It is the only product that will work on my cold sores that relieve dryness, irritation, wind burnt etc. It’s my saving grace. I don’t know what I would do without it.

I would get tiny blisters all over my lips and the original formula will help relive the irritation and after 6-7 days my cold sores will be gone. However, with this new formula. it would seem that it will heal my lip and after the 6-7 days my lip is triggered again and goes through the same cycle of the 6-7.

I’m currently at 4 weeks irritation with my lips because they switch the ingredients! I finally found an old tube of the original formula and my lips are finally healing! Please please bring back the old formula.

I currently have to search online to stock pile the old formula because it’s the only thing that will save me.

This is my most favorite product for lips! Nothing works for me other than Vaseline Lip Therapy. I have used so many chapsticks without any comfort. I feel like most products make my lips dry. This lip therapy offers moisture, it’s thick yet not greasy.

My lips are always dry and in my house every room has this lip balm. I even keep one in my car, one in my purse too. When I found the best price at iherb, I decided to get in bulk as they are my must have.

I even brought some for my sister in India, and she is a fan of it too!If you are tired using the products that make your lips drier, don’t look further. You have found the right product!.

I’ve really enjoyed using this lip balm. Chapped lips can be a constant struggle for me, and it’s super annoying because they hurt and are a distraction. With this tin in my purse it’s been so easy just to pull it out and apply a little several times a day.

The feeling of relief is instant and I can tell it’s working to moisturize and repair my lips right away. It’s a bonus that it gives my lips a light pink tint and has a light pleasant scent.

I love the Vaseline lip therapy line and wanted to try this since it gives a nice light pink hue to the lips. I really enjoy the formulation but the colour was non existent (PSA for darker lips it won’t have any colour payoff).

Additionally that rose smell was really off putting and I couldn’t stand it. So I am taking off major points for it having no hint of colour on my lips and that smell. But definitely try their other lip therapy flavours!.

Great even for my eyes or areas that I want to protect to avoid redness. I often use it when I apply acids and I don’t want them to get close around my eyes, nose, and sensitive areas. Highly recommended.

I’ve been a Vaseline user for years. I recently ran out and found out that Vaseline changed its look. I went ahead and purchased the Vaseline lip therapy. After using the product I instantly new something had changed.

After use my lips felt very dry and I constantly had to reapply. I also felt like a film was on my lips rather than a smooth Vaseline as before. I’m very sad the product not only changed its look. but also the Vaseline product.

After many years of use. it’s time to search for a new product.

This is the absolute best lip balm that I have ever tried! My lips get extremely dry. Dry to the point of having those nasty looking dry patches on your lips that you can’t help but try to bite off. It was making my lipstick look horrible.

I was using EOS which helped a little, but not completely. Plus, I hate the thick, waxy feel of EOS. Vaseline Lip Therapy to the rescue! I first tried one of the smaller containers that come in the mini-Vaseline container.

I loved it. Then I found the Pink Bubbly at Target. It’s amazing. I love the smell and there’s an extremely slight taste of a sweet wine aftertaste. It’s good, but barely there at the same time. As for my lips: they’re absolutely amazing.

No more dry flakiness. No more biting the dry skin off and pulling too much skin and ending up with a bloody lip. My lips are so smooth! Lip Therapy has no thick, waxy feel. It’s light and glides on easily.

It has also worked on my son who has the bad habit of licking his lips on very windy days, ending up with wind burn. He would run screaming from me when I tried to put any chapstick on him. I convinced him to let me put this on, and when he finally did, he was happily surprised by the lightness of it.

One other note, this is also a very budget-friendly lip balm. If you have severe dry lips or even just want something to keep them moisturized, you can’t go wrong with this! I put it on several times a day.

It sits on my desk next to my computer and I put it on several times a day. I’ve had the same 0. 6oz tin for about a year and a half, and it’s still about half full. That’s with using it two to three times a day! SO- great value, great product!!.

Absolutely adore this!! I love using this at night before bed as a lip mask. I always wake up with a little left on my lips. It’s so hydrating and makes my lips so soft. There’s really nothing else like this.

Not even those expensive actual lip masks. It is thick but that’s why it makes as a good overnight mask. It doesn’t have a bad taste or anything either like others do. I will keep buying this and continue recommending this!.

I loved Vaseline for my lips growing up but this took it to a whole new level. First off I’m all about smells and this smells amazing. I love how it hydrated lips and gives it a little shine but not like super greasy residue and it doesn’t leave any white behind.

My two year old and I use it faithfully. He gets really badly chapped lips from time to time and he’ll go retrieve the tin so I can moisturize his lips. So it’s definitely Italy Kim and baby approved!.

I had a pick up order at the store and this was one of the items I got in a small “thank you” sample bag. Since it’s Vaseline brand I figured that it would have been really great, but it really isn’t that good in my opinion.

It has a pretty strong smell to it that isn’t all that pleasant, but for the most part I was able to get past it and it doesn’t seem as bad now that I’m used to it. The biggest thing I noticed with this is that it just isn’t that moisturizing.

No matter how much I out on, I found myself having to constantly re-apply it throughout my day because it wears off so fast compared to the normal Vaseline and other chapsticks in general. As much as I wanted to really like it, I barely use it anymore because I have other chapsticks that are just so much better.

I love aloe vera. This product helps your lips not to dry out and crack. Definitely very good price. And I use coupons for this one. Doesn’t need any improving. It’s definitely gentle. It definitely makes your lips feel good.

recently had a Propane gas explosion that from the heat did 1st degree burns on portions of my body, My lips were somewhat engaged by the heat drying them out. I wanted a Brand name I could trust and also a treatment that wasn’t Fruit Flavored.

I found both with this product. To date after 10 days of use my lips are very much better. Thanks to this product.

I used to have about 10 tins of this on the go at any one time. It’s been one of the most constant things in my adult life:) I’d have one in my coat pocket, one on my desk, one by my bed, one in my gym bag, one in my handbag.

Recently, after a couple of years (!) I noticed a couple were nearing the end. I bought 2 new ones. And I put one in my coat pocket. Went for a walk in the wood. When I went to use it and opened the lid it was everywhere.

It was half melted from my body heat, all in the lid, oozing and the sides. This had never happened before. I tried to clean it up to create the lovely neat, smooth product of before. I even put it in the shed.

BUT IT’S SO SOFT. It was melted after all. It’s horrible. I get too much on my finger, it gets all into the lid and then out onto the sides, it makes a mess everywhere i put it and thr formula is too soft on my lips.

It’s not as effective. I really really hate this new formula. Please change it back. For now I will use up all the ones I still have and look for an alternative new product for when one runs out. I’ll throw these new ones away.

They’re a disaster. I’m absolutely gutted.

Honestly what quality control, market research, feedback loops occurred when you came up with your new formula? This has gone from the best product on the market in terms of cost and effectiveness to the worst.

Like many have said, it actually makes your lips dryer after applying the balm. Anyone reading this who’s equally bummed out by the new formula. use Blistex Med Plus little pots. Best alternative I’ve found.

Buy from Notino online if you can’t find any local stock. If the formula was changed due to making it “greener” or better for the environment/animals etc then I applaud your intentions. But you must have lost a lot of customers.

I think people like me are annoyed is because the product has changed. There’s no way I’d go out of my way to review if I just simply didn’t like it after trying once.

Let me start by saying I really loved this product when I first got it. It feels great and the tin is really cute. However, just a few days ago, I developed a case of dyshidrotic eczema on my one finger.

Ironically, this is the exact and only finger I repeatedly used to apply this balm. Coincidence? I think not. I have never struggled with any sort of eczema, and the fact this product caused such a reaction is bizarre and alarming.

Get rid of the “flavor”/aroma/fragrance! Seriously. While I do kinda like the product and how it performs, I really do hate it at the same time and i just can’t give it more than one star. Again, I do like how it performs.

It’s nice on the lips. But the “aroma” (let’s just be honest and transparent here. It’s fragrance) is just SO SO BAD!! It’s called lip therapy, so I assume it’s intended for lips? Please correct me if I’m wrong here? But since I assume it’s for the lips, I use it on the lips.

But the experience is just awful! When you first sniff it, the scent is quite pleasent, but the more you smell it, the more it just smell like straight up cheap awful parfume. But thats only the scent.

It taste straight up like cheap awful parfume as well. And it’s really not a pleasent taste for a lip product. And I really don’t understand the need for the aroma/fragrance in the product expect an awful parfume taste.

The fragrance is really not needed, please just get rid of it. And while you’re at it, just get rid of it in all your products and make them fragrance free. The fragrance is just so awful. Smells awful, taste awful, and there’s no need for it.

It does not benefit the skin, and can be irritating and cause long term allergy. And I just don’t want to recommend products with, and especially not unnecessary fragrance in it, when there’s better options out there for the same price.

Love this… Blaum? Eh. That’s what I call it. One little tin lasts forever and really locks in the moisture. Vaseline. Who knew? I use it on myself and my kids and it works wonders against winter air and burning/chapped lips.

And the scent! It’s so yummy. Love this stuff. Just wish I didn’t have to put my fingers in it haha. .

This is great as a protective layer to keep lips in tip top condition. I wouldn’t recommend it for healing though if your lips are already very dry and chapped, but using it on top of a healing product to seal it all in works wonders.

I’ve also used it as a sealing layer on top of moisturisers on dry areas such as my heels, knees, knuckles and elbows. It is good for cosmetic use too, like setting your brows in place. The tin is the perfect size to pop in your bag too, so you’ve got it with you on-the-go.

Great coverage with so little that it will last you forever. The small metal box will protect this treasure at the Botton of your handbag.

Ive been using Vaseline for so many years that I lost count, since back when the Vaseline brand was just the tub of petroleum jelly and the only product by this brand. Now there’s so many moisturizers and lip products I cant keep up.

First of all it is very cost effective and I can use it for so many different things such as dry patches on my face or body which can appear at any time. I dont need to spend money on fancy lip balms, I just stick to this.

Also i found its great when mixed with my hand lotion, the moisturising effect is so much better and effective. Sometimes when Im cooking i can be a bit clumsy and end up with scrapes or scald my hand, and all i do is apply a thin layer of vaseline and leave it on to do its work, that simple.

It is not fragranced which means no chance of irritation as my skin can be quite sensitive. Its literally one of those things i always have a tub of lying around because its so versatile and saves me a ton of money compared to buying different creams and salves for each problem area I have.

A very good multi-tasking product and one I will not be without as long as they keep making it. :).

Was expecting it to be gold shimmer so I didn’t use it sooner but now wish I would have. It doesn’t have the gold shimmer which I am not terribly upset about. What I was most concerned about is that my lips were painful they were so dry.

When I used it the first time my lip actually split and started bleeding when I put it on. 12 hours later and maybe 3-4 applications of the stuff and my lips are no longer killing me and the spot that split and bled is healing nicely! Love love this stuff.

I use Vaseline a lot for my lips, it’s always the product I can count on for dry lips. I saw this in Target and I was immediately interested especially since it has the subtle gold shimmer. Soon as I treated I could tell immediately the formula is a little different then original Vaseline and that’s ok.

I was disappointed in the shimmer aspect though. I wasn’t expecting extreme sparkle but you can barely see any shimmer in this once applied. Next I’ll skip this and use my go to regular Vaseline.

I really liked the Vaseline Gold Dust lip tin. It was easy to apply and very moisturizing for my lips. The gold dust is not glitter like at all and it just gives you a bit of shimmer. I like the tin because you can use your finger or a lip brush to apply it.

It is also a good value for the price, very affordable. Would definitely recommend!.

I used to love this stuff but the scent started to irritate my lips. Also the packaging sucks because although it is tin and easier to recycle, it is so hard to get open if you don’t have long nails.

I keep mine in my car so it melts and freezes with the changing temperature. If it gets too cold I can’t open it. If it gets too warm is starts to leak and is a slipper mess which I also can’t open. Used to love but I’ve moved onto Aquaphor for my lips.

I still hold onto this one as a backup but probably won’t repurchase.

I love this little Tun that Vaseline has added to its collection! It’s super handy to throw in my purse. I used to carry the huge jar of Vaseline with me because I always enjoyed using any kind of Vaseline on my lips! So this was a perfect creation in my opinion! Who doesn’t love vaseline. It is literally the go to product in every household, not just for chapped lips but other things as well. This has been great for my girls I for almost anything that is dry or chapped.

Lips, knuckles, heels. I make sure they have it in their school bags as I also carry one with me everywhere.

Nice. Now I’d like to take credit for finding yet another use for Vaseline, but i must be honest and hand this one over to my Mum. As a kid growing up and experimenting with make up and mascara, she always told me not to use eye make up remover.

Its widely known that certain types of eye make up remover can strip the lashes of their natural oils, making them brittle, more prone to breaking and therefore not conducive to growing long luscious lashes.

Instead, try using Vaseline with a cotton pad and warm water. This even works with waterproof mascara and not only takes your eye make up off, but conditions your eyes and lashes at the same time. (Yes really) It is a method that me, my mum and my sister have followed religiously, and all three of us have been complimented on our long lashes.

This is the truth! You can even take this one step further and leave a little blob of it rubbed into your lashes over night for extra conditioning, something I do daily without fail much to the amusement of my fiancé as I go to bed every night with shiny eyes! It’s a small price to pay.

My most favorite product ever. It’s so versatile and can be used in an unbelieveable amount of ways. So hydrating and plumping, heals every dry patch overnight. I would not recommend this product for people with milia because it can cause them, but if used in very small amount lightly it shouldn’t be a problem.

I love using vasiline after I apply all my skincare to really lock in all the products I applied. The formula is amazing, I love the texture of it! I would highly recommend this product to everyone. If you need an amazing moisturizer that wont cost you an arm and a leg, this is the product for you!! A little extra tip: Scoop up a pea size amount of vaseline, maybe a little less depending on your skin type, and add drop of water to it or run your hand really fast under the sink, then rub your fingers together mixing the water and the vaseline together.

It will create a white-ish gel/cream that is super super hydrating and really locks the added H2O into your skin. I use this tip all the time and my skin is amazing!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this product!!! 😀😀.

Love the touch of coco butter in Vaseline in the summer! Just wish they offered it in the big size for better value. Nice scent of coco butter without being too much. Ladies here’s a tip for extremely soft feet… After massaging some of this into your feet and toes, don’t follow up with socks.

It comes off too fast and ultimately is a waste of product and money. Instead, follow the moisturizing treatment with wrapping your feet (going up to your toes if desired) with a soft plastic wrap. (I use Targets and also the name brand.

The key here is *soft plastic wrap. If you use a more generic plastic wrap it won’t feel good and can even v quickly become bother some. ) It’s too tightly wrapped if you’ve challenged your circulation! No need for that.

Just a nice secure but light touch wrap to hold in the Vaseline and stop any possibly escaping. Then you can add the socks if you wish as an added layer of protection for the night. Or, day, as you slip on some sneakers or closed shoes.

A few hours later you will love the results on your super moisturized feet!.

This product is really smooth on my lips, its a must have. If i was stuck on an island and only could have three things, this would be one of them. Ive been using this for years and this keeps my lips moisturized af.

Genius product. Have them tucked all over the place, as i always have dry lips. so convenient to use and carry. Before they came up w/ the tubes, used to have to carry around a small jar w/ me, nowhere near as convenient.

Suffer badly with dry lips n found this to be great especially for the price. Legit wouldn’t be able to sleep without it. Was great for working in a dry hospital environment too and is good for a subtle lip gloss sub.

I received this as a substitute and I’m not impressed. I need to reapply it so frequently it’s annoying, plus my lips feel irritated and as if they’re drying out underneath the lip balm. Very odd. Will be asking for a refund.

So glad I found this. It’s a replacement for Nivea lip balm now that they’ve changed their formula and it feels like rubbing plasticine on your face! This one glides on smoothly and doesn’t end up drying your lips out like some brands.

It’s also great for sensitive skin – i have eczema on my fave and it doesn’t irritate at all.

This is a lovely product. It smells great and has different variety’s. It met all my expectations plus more. No need to improve on this product as it is a great product to use. I’m a repeat user and so is my daughter.

This may sound odd, lol, but I have a really bad habit of licking my lips and chewing on them when I’m anxious or stressed, which is pretty often, so they’re always dry and cracked and flaky and needless to say I can’t stand it! I’ve tried every kind of lip balm, chapstick, and lip oil out there and none of them really helped that much, or the taste or flavor or consistency was bad.

But, the other day I was in Family Dollar and saw the Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lip Therapy for the 1st time and I figured I’d give it a try. Well, it’s now my go to lip balm! It absolutely works wonders! It doesn’t have a bad taste or flavor to it, isn’t thick and waxy, and actually has a pleasant cocoa butterey scent and after taste that i love and find really soothing.

One of my favorite lip balms. The mixture of cocoa butter, glycerin, vitamin B E, castor oil, and Vaseline is the perfect mixture to effectively add then seal in moisture to the lips. Because it’s so effective, it also helps heal any dry or cracked lips.

Contains SPF 15 for protection. I love to wear this during summer, as a prep before applying lipsticks, on top of lipsticks to add a smooth shine, as a lip mask while I sleep. It’s firm but applies smoothly like butter.

Because it has SPF, it doesn’t melt easily in the hot sun. Has a slight buttery/oily feeling on the lips, but not uncomfortable. Makes lips look smooth healthy. Highly recommend.

I like it; it’s moisturizing. But I have to reapply it often, especially when drinking, because it doesn’t “stick” very well. It does not last through the night; I’m not sure if this is due to being a stick or the particular formula, because when I used a gel tube of Aquaphor, it did last through the night.

It does not contain lanolin like Aquaphor, which can be irritating. I’ve gone through 2/3 of a stick in 2 months, so I estimate this 2-pack will last 6 months.

I LOVE this stuff. It’s a cute pink color but doesn’t tint your lips like crazy. It is a really basic and nice smelling moisturizer that works amazing. I would totally recommend this to anyone needing a new lip balm.
