My LG24GL65B-B 24″ gaming monitor has a beautiful, sharp, clear, vivid display picture. It’s very easy to set up and the range of adjustment available for the display picture makes it possible for even the fussiest person to get beautiful results.

I would agree with previous reviewers that the out-of-the box settings are over-the-top (like store demo-mode bright) but the user has complete control over that in the monitor’s picture adjustment menu.

I read a number of reviews complaining about the display port cable it comes with being short, but mine came with a 4′ long display port cable which was plenty long for my side-by-side monitor to tower installation.

You might need a longer display port cable if your computer is sitting under your desk rather than next to the monitor. The support stand is easy to assemble, install, and adjusts smoothly and easily with one hand.

The display stand holds whatever position I place the monitor in and it stays there all squared away very nicely. Not sure about the negative comments regarding the stand but I like how stable it is and how easy it is to position the display height, angle, and orientation.

My LG 24GL65B-B was packaged well and arrived with no pixel issues, none were stuck or dead. No hesitation at all recommending this monitor. I always worry when I order a monitor because so much can go wrong.

Then again, that is why I usually order from Newegg because they are in your corner and go the extra mile. Likewise, I can’t say that I have ever been disappointed by any TV or monitor I have bought from LG.

They have always delivered the performance they promised.

Needed a secondary monitor for primarily for working from home. With the pandemic causing product availability to be scarce, I was limited on options and would have preferred to have purchased a gaming quality display to also use as a secondary monitor for my personal laptop.

The display of this AOC monitor is perfect for work, but lacks a vibrant display if you plan to play games or use programs like photoshop. I would recommend this as a bargain buy to casual computer users.

The most important thing to notice about this monitor is the 25ms response time. That means you’ll see shadows just scrolling on a web page. The built-in speakers are tinny and the amplifier is inadequate.

Short summary: Pay a little more for something a lot better. With that said, the images are bright and sharp as long as they’re not moving. The 20″ width is OK for someone who’s used to running apps at full screen size, as I am.

This one replaces an older Viewsonic monitor whose backlight failed after about 15 years. I was rather hoping for similar quality, and sad that I didn’t get it.

For the price, this monitor can’t really be beat. My number one thing is that the flicker-free is true. I’m VERY sensitive to even slight flicker found in a lot of computer monitors. I can get a migraine from it in about 30 seconds.

I haven’t noticed a single bit of flickering on this screen. The resolution is great, and the color and brightness are great. I can also see it from most any angle I put it at on my desk. I use it as a supplemental monitor at my computer so that I can watch videos and other things while I use my main screen.

For the price, it really can’t be beat as long as its big enough for your needs. The ONLY thing I don’t like about it is that it used a VGA (blue) connector. I luckily have one of the little adapters to switch from VGA to DVI but it was annoying having to find it.

And if you don’t have one of those, good luck connecting it to a modern computer without buying one. But it was a minor inconvenience. I love it. You should buy one.

One of the reasons I bought this monitor was so I could get rid of my desktop speakers, but that is not going to happen. The speakers are only 2 watt speakers, meaning they don’t put out much sound in the first place, and because the speakers are mounted on the back of the monitor, the sound is barely audible.

Maybe it would be a little louder if the sound reflected off a wall behind the monitor, but I doubt it because the speakers are so weak. On the positive side, the monitor looks great and gives impressive colors and brightness.

I am using the VGA connector and still getting 1080p quality video, which really surprised me. So, if you need a quality monitor with great picture and brightness for a reasonable price, then this monitor is a good choice, but don’t buy it if you need good sound from your monitor as well.

ViewSonic VG2439m-LED 24″ Dear ViewSonic, I acquired the same model of the monitor but at the 21. 5 variety back in 2015 for my work from home setup. Since that time I moved 4 times, and these monitors never skipped a beat.

Recently, after a cross-country relocation, I retired those monitors (to my brother) for which they are still going strong. I am so pleased with these 24″ monitors for the following reasons. #1 I have and always will LOVE the interface of ViewSonic monitors, it’s clean, simple, easy, and for me consistent, I rate this higher than all others at the enterprise level; even Dell who produces the best enterprise-grade monitors but for individuals, small businesses this is not the best ROI.

#2 No frills keep costs low This has exactly what you need to be a productive student, and professional. It may seem lacking in the creative department but it’s accurate and unless you are a professional creator it is suitable.

#3 If you already use DisplayPort Technology (Dell / HP) it’s great once you get over the realization that it is simply a different shaped HDMI, but for this product and its a category we get amazing deals because so many people can’t seem to understand.

#4 ViewSonic please reach out to me if you want to sell this solution to large companies whose monitors asset collection is an utter mess leaving IT teams using avoidance measure’s and leaving end-users to DYI which has it’s pros/cons as an individual contributor but ultimately it’s a huge waste of time, effort, and the organization overall.

Low cost, ultrabasic, easy to use/configure, deploy RMA monitors such as these can easily rule the segment with the right sales strategy, who knows how low the pricing can get at scale for these? Bottom line if you want an easy use, quality build that will last for the next 5 to 10 years go with these monitors as 80% of the population does not require more than 1080 HD quality, 4k, 5k, 8k?! That’s for pros and entertainment, don’t over-buy yourself into spec.

Pros: Controls are on the front of the panel rather than the back like some less expensive Viewsonic monitors. Multi-adjustments are great for height, tilt and swivel. Many monitors in this price range do not have that flexibility.

Lots of customizable settings for image color, contrast and brightness as well as a view setting for the type of application displayed. Three different kinds of ports for connection to most computers.

Monitor has (4) USB ports for additional peripherals. Screen size works well on a small-ish desk. Price was reasonable for the quality. Cons: Contrast is mediocre and colors lack vibrancy. Tried adjusting for better contrast, but it only blew out the details.

No HDMI cable included (display port, USB and power cables included). Overall a nice monitor for general office use. I would not use it for editing photos.

the packaging is stupid. i think it’s got two sheets of paper for documentation, not too sure what they’re about because one of them has a few sentences in just about any language but Hebrew, don’t think they’re worth anything to anyone.

The box is “eco friendly” 24 inch monitor in a box smaller than my brother”s 21 inch Viewsonic. it does protect the monitor well enough. Just about all of the “documentation” is the printing on the box itself.

“This end up” represented by a small arrow, you might miss it ( not a word with it) Your direction for opening the box. 3 or 4 simplistic drawings not good enough to really do the job. I wanted to preserve the box for transporting the monitor without tearing it apart, i had to get someone else to figure it out.

just about the only thing i’ve seen that’s worse are those tight plastic things so much stuff you have to cut open to get to your product. My brother’s Viewsonic came with a built in carry handle, it’s very obvious and easy to fiure out for use.

My box? i finally found the handles. cut into the box, they aren’t marked in any way-some people will not even see them. The monitor itself is pretty good, my brother didn’t have to adjust anything it was fine right of the box.

now all I’ve got to do is figure out what those 5 buttons next to the power button do, even it is unidentified. The tilt/cable routing, ability to turn on end, and adjustable monitor height are nice but they’re left up to you to figure out.

I think it’s got speakers- someplace. i wanted to use the HDMI port (?) but I’ll need someone else to hook into that because I can’t do it myself, you have to hook it up by working upside down and backwards (it’s on the back of the monitor good for hanging on the wall but awkward and inconvenient for me.

It looks good and seems to work all right but needs a bit more documentation to help even somebody who knows what they’re doing.

Been needing to buy a new monitor for a while but decided to go ahead an get one now since I’m working for home. It makes a huge difference with this monitor. I had a 19 inch before buying this 24 inch.

It’s a perfect size to use for personal and work. For work I can have spreadsheets side by side on just this monitor plus email, etc. also. The picture is great. It has a built in speaker which comes in handy even if it’s not really powerful.

It’s no big deal. Has various connections HDMI, VGA, etc. Plus the monitor position itself can be adjusted to very low to high, tilt, wide swivel, and it is very sturdy at any position setting. It can also be positioned to be vertical as well as the normal horizontal setting.

I searched for hours for a monitor that had a lot of different features that were important to me, and this one had them all: picture quality, size, positioning variety, built in speaker, and a variety of connection options.

The only issue I had with this item is they gave me a connection cord I have never seen in my life, a USB cord, but not an HDMI cord, the one most people would probably want. So unboxed it at night and was looking forward to using it and found I would have to go back the next day and now get an HDMI cord to connect to my PC.

Doesn’t make any sense. Other than the HDMI cord issue, I am very happy with it after a month’s use so far. For all you get with this monitor, the price is a good bargain.

The picture quality is beautiful. However it is quite loud when you do anything there is a high pitch buzzing/noise. It does it while opening window, using anything on the monitors etc. There is an always there one and then it goes up and down depending on what you are doing with it.

In addition the specs say it has built-in-audio and it does not. I ordered 4 and 2 had to have the audio and none did. In order to return I would have had to repackage the two I already setup as well as the two I needed to have audio at.

Really disapointed!.

Great Curved Monitor: Pros are contrast and a very sharp image with a little adjusting you end up with a Great Picture. Cons: NoN adjustable Stand, does tilt a little so find a box for a higher monitor.

Joystick on rear of monitor for On/Off and Settings. Just put a on/off switch in the front or bottom would much better.

After my current Flat Screen 27″ Monitor Died with Power Supply Issues, I looked around for a Replacement and thought of the Samsung Monitor I helped a Friend Buy a few Months Ago. This one is a slightly newer version than the one my Friend got AND I Simply LOVE IT! Beautiful Sharp Color Image, High Quality 1920×1080 (1080p) Resolution.

Pros: heavy duty mount with easy swivel, tilt and elevation abilities. Nice. Cons: Price, somewhat washed out colors and even though others said the speakers weren’t much I would have to disagree. You can barely hear anything at all with everything turned to max, both at your computer software and also at the monitor itself.

I would say if you are thinking the speakers would be good enough to listen to phone messages etc. they are not. Not sure why they even put them in if you can’t at least do that.

I bought this monitor for my HP Z6 workstation, that I use mainly for my 1K to 2K video work used mainly on the Internet and for individual video projects for many organizations that I work with. The large screen is really great when working with highly detailed videos.

The adjustable rotating and various tilt angles ergonomic base is a nice feature so a person doesn’t have to strain their neck when working long hours on a video project. Although it has multiple connection formats, I use the latest display port connection, which is a nice addition and slightly less cumbersome than the HDMI or the older digital port connections.

The images and colors are crisp, bright, and clear without any noticeable imperfections at any angle that lesser quality monitors seem to exhibit. I prefer ViewSonic products due to their great quality.

The built-in blue light filter is a nice feature to reduce eye strain during long editing sessions. Overall, I’m very happy with this large monitor.

I didn’t realize when I ordered this it was only a VGA hookup. I was worried; I had tried hooking VGA up with another monitor and it looked like something from the late 80’s. So I figured for the price on this one-sale was $89.

(I see it’s $79. now! I may order a 2nd one), just keep it as a backup since for some reason my monitors keep going out. And, I just needed to break this out to use. And, I’m impressed so far. From taking it out of the box, to having it running, took about 5 mins, without needing the directions.

Hardest part was screwing in the stupid VGA screws on the back of the monitor-not much room. And I have thin girl hands. Very easy to put together, and it does tilt. It seems sturdy on the stand. I don’t believe this has speakers with it.

Turned it on, not having high hopes. and I really can’t tell the difference! I’m not a gamer, just basic web browsing and video type of stuff. The only thing I can see, it’s just slightly missing that “sharpness” that you see with with an HDMI hookup.

I could see this being an issue for a gamer or a “tech snob” that needs the latest of anything and everything, but for me, it’s perfectly fine and acceptable. Where I work, this is a very popular brand, so I think I’ll just leave this as my regular monitor.

I foolishly have gone through 3 of the ONN brand from the W store. First lasted a year before going out, 2nd and 3rd right at a month. Unfortunately I’m in a rural area, and the W store is pretty much it if you need something quick, hence why I opted to get it 3 times.

Lesson learned. I also tried a lower model $130. Acer, and that one went out right about the year mark. I really don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a monitor, but I shouldn’t have to be forking out money every year to replace them either.

Hopefully this one lasts, worst case, I picked up the 4 year ext warranty. If it doesn’t last a reasonable amount of time, I will update.

Plugged directly into the pi and after running the adafruit config instructions the screen was up and running. changing the font settings on the GUI to small also helped. Installing xscreensaver, then disabling it, stopped the screen sleeping.

Good quality screen with reasonable resolution. The addition of the tactile buttons has proved very useful in my hardware projects. For the price, this screen cannot be faulted.

If a miniature screen is what you need, then this is ideal. I didn’t have much luck with the B model Pi, but hope over experience etc and I thought to try the B+ with this screen so as to remove HDMI links and untested monitors from the equation.

Either that or Adafruit’s excellent distribution of the Pi image have made for a seamless install. I can now experiment/learn/play with the Pi as it was intended. I’d rather use the bigger screen of an RDP, VNC or SSH connection for general use, but the PiTFT screen is perfect when a local connection is wanted.

It all just works, which is a refreshing change in my experience.

The pre-assembled Adafruit PiTFT 2. 8 touchscreen for the Raspberry Pi, is an add on board that simply can be inserted on the Pi and with a few lines to install the necessary software it simply works.

The only soldering required is if you want to add some tiny buttons to it, which actually look good and can be very useful for some automated actions. The Raspberry pi basically looks great with this tiny screen.

The 2. 8″ touchscreen resolution is surprisingly good, the display has sharp colors good contrast, the letters easily read. The touch capabilities are ok for big icons or links but you still need a keyboard to type, there is a program XStroke that can be used to type by drawing the letters in the full screen, but it is difficult to get the letters right so it could take very long to type a single command line.

The quality would be equivalent to watch videos or similar things with as little interaction as possible. So when you buy this product you need to ask yourself, how many of these activities with little typing interaction I actually do in my raspberry pi? and how often.

This monitor is quite wonderful so far. ViewSonic as a company has definitely earned my money and commitment. It was extremely easy to set up and get going, practically plug n’ play. Color is amazing, quality is amazing.

I really do appreciate the extent they go to make quality products, so yes. I do definitely recommend this product for those who want something that will last them quite a while, provides a quality experience, and has enough versatility to let you do what you need to do.

I originally bought this to replace an Acer SB220Q as my primary monitor and was, at first, disappointed overall. The contrast was extremely high and tuning its settings through the OSD (whose buttons were extremely sharp and cut into my fingers) didn’t help at all.

Colors were slightly more saturated than I feel they should have been. Viewing angle was pretty narrow and corners were dark, and coupled with the high native contrast, it was difficult to view any dark images or games.

There’s a noticeable screen-door effect on plain white images. The speakers were super gutless and required the desktop audio to be cranked up to max to be audible, at which point it would lose any clarity and had no bass to it whatsoever.

Its response time setting was supposed to reduce motion blur, but the tradeoff was that it added significant ghosting and choppy motion. Most importantly, it had a vignette along the right edge of the monitor that was annoying enough for me to RMA it under warranty.

I received an older manufacturing date model as a replacement and the quality of the two monitors is night and day for some reason. The contrast and colors now match my other displays, including the SB220Q.

I was able to get an almost 100% image match with very slight tuning of the RGB. The monitor’s OSD buttons are more square and blunt and don’t require as much force to press. The speakers are noticeably better.

The response time setting now works with no noticeable trade-off like the ghosting before and makes high-speed games look great. Unfortunately, the screen door is still there and this one also has a dark edge along the right side of the screen albeit much less noticeable, but the improvement in the color was enough to warrant me keeping it.

Its on-the-fly gaming mode isn’t for me as it turns the image bland, flat, and washed out in favor of lower contrast that’s supposed to make it easier to see in the dark for esports or tactical games or something.

I recommend this for gaming, where you’re likely to not focus enough on the image quality to notice its issues, but not for creative work or art as its color and light seems to be inconsistent between units.

No frills monitor with a large assortment of input options. I bought to compliment my existing monitor of roughly the same size. Even though this item is almost a decade newer than my existing monitor, it’s specs are less impressive.

I had to decrease the resolution of my desktop down to meet this product’s native resolution. Good response time. Clunky interface, unintuitive at times. Still trying to tweak the options to get the best pic out of it and at least get the contrast/colors to match my other display.

It works for what I need, which was an additional monitor for teleworking. Overall, I’m rather disappointed considering it cost as much as my “old” Samsung sitting next to it and is an inferior product in every way.

I wanted to be able to take my Raspberry Pi out in the field when I work ham radio at remote locations. This is a good screen for that. My only complaint, and this has nothing to do with the Element touchscreen, the cases they make for the back of the screen force you to mount the screen upside down.

While this isn’t a big deal, it’s easy to go in and edit the config file to rotate the screen, it does cause a bit of an issue viewing the screen. This screen was made to have the best vertical viewing angle when it’s in it’s correct orientation.

So mounting the screen upside down causes the screen to be harder to view when sitting on the table. Not a huge deal, and there are other cases available for the Element 14 screen, but none that provide the protection for use out in the field.

Otherwise this is a good screen, with good color and brightness.

the touch screen is snappy and responsive as well as the setup and ease of use is top notch as its plug and play. If using this for a full desktop environment the pixel density really starts to show in text such as the command line.

I think for the price point this comes in at you could find a larger and higher resolution display from another manufacturer. It wont be as plug and play but overall quality of life improvements would be made.

This tiny screen is much more legible than I thought it would be, and I am surprisingly comfortable using my Pi almost like a laptop. The touch part is completely unnecessary however, since it doesn’t function the way you would expect.

Trying to “click” or “tap” or whatever you call it with touch, the mouse cursor action is located about a centimeter away from the finger, which makes it difficult to hit the right menu options etc. Since it is useless, it becomes annoying when you accidentally touch the screen and something is activated that you didn’t want.

No, using a mouse is a much preferable option, but the screen in terms of display is excellent.

This is an awesome monitor. I’ve ordered 3 of these, used, and all are working great. I’ve just ordered 2 more. – The monitors have a rotation sensor in them. If rotated, and if you have the ’tilt service’ running, it will automatically change the aspect of the monitor in windows between Landscape and Portrait! – The stand has a circular rotation disc on the bottom so it cam be rotated.

– The monitor can slide up and down on its mount. Almost 5″ high, and, can be lowered so it actually touches and rests on the desk surface. – It has a 2-port usb2 hub, so you can plug in your mouse & keyboard, or two other usb devices.

– They have 16:10 ratio at 1920 x1200. This gives a slightly larger display than the new ratio of 16:9 which is 1920 x 1080. It does make a difference – at least to me. – The monitors came with both VGA and DVI cables.

A nice surprise.

HP packs in a USB cable, a DVI cable and a VGA cable. But no Displayport cable. Seriously, who buys a display like this and hooks it up to a VGA port anymore? If you’re planning on hooking this up to the latest type of video connector, make sure you have the right cable already on hand.

The vertical viewing angle is very bad. If you pivot it to portrait (it only pivots 90 deg in one direction) the view from left of center is washed out and if you go far enough (even ~15 deg to the left is bad) you end up with a “negative” image.

Right of center is a little better so if you’re using it as a secondary, portrait display like me, you’ll want to have this monitor to the left of your main display. To pivot to portrait, you have to tilt it back, then pivot and finally tilt back forward.

The height adjustment doesn’t go high enough to pivot freely.

I bought two of these at the same time. I also have a 4 year old dell monitor of the same size and resolution. The dell has much darker blacks and I believe better color reproduction. One of the HPs i got has three dead pixels near the middle of the screen.

Doesn’t bother me too much but probably would if it were my only primary monitor. Also, that same screen has a lot of light leakage around the edges of the screen which you can see when the screen is all black.

The other HP has no dead pixels and much less light leakage. The dell has zero light leakage and no dead pixels 4 years later. Of course I paid WAY more for the dell. Over all though I would recommend them, especially at the low price they’re at.

Everything was great! With only one exception, it did not state on the box that it needed an adaptor for the “V-smile” game. We were lucky that we had batteries, or Christmas day would have been a little sad.

Maybe charge an “X” amount of dollars extra for the game. I would pay extra to have the adaptor included. I noticed allot of educational games do this. Not fun when you get home and there is no adaptor.

Product works well. Joystik a little sensitive for young hands, but works the way it should. Little bulky, but new generation of controllers is smaller and wireless. Overall worth it if you don’t mind using last generation technology to save money.

For the price, the picture is nice and I have no dead pixels. However, the sound is so dismal that were it not for the deeply discounted price I paid, I would return it. It is sad to say it would not be an exaggeration to say the sound is _literally_ no better than a string attached to a tin can; (really.

literally). It is is _that_ bad. For that reason, I decided to not use the HDMI cable from my computer to the screen; (which, when used, give you no choice but to use the internal tin-can-speaker system).

Instead, I attached my Digital DVI cable between my computer and the Viewsonic Display, which allowed me to use an external speaker. I was previously using my (20 year old) top of the line Dell Display which had an optional “sound bar” attached to the bottom with two small screws.

I removed the sound bar and now have it laying behind this Viewsonic Display. *NOW* the quality of the sound matches the quality of the picture. [Short Version]: If you must use this Viewsonic Display (or any Viewsonic model within this price range), along with an HDMI cable, be prepared for _horrific_ sound in which my analogy of “a string and a tin can” is extremely accurate.

The problem with using HDMI is that you have no choice but to use the internal tin-can sound system. NOTE: I tried a few of the Viewsonic models in this price range. Apparently, anything under $150 gets you a string and a tin can for a sound system.

It truly is pathetic, and were it not for this issue I’d give the Display 5 stars. especially for the price.

Was a great case until the rubber stopped adhering. Both the rubber around the outer edge and the thin rubber on the inner edge is starting to detach from the phone after Ive only had it for about 3 months.

I drop my phone a lot, but I dont think it has anything to do with it. Just poor adhesive. Id buy the case again if LifeProof could fix that part of the product. Otherwise, it still protects my phone from drops and most scratches.

The case itself definitely gets scratched up on the corners, especially after a few drops. I wouldnt be as mad about the rubber if the product didnt cost as much. Ive bought from LifeProof before and the cases usually lasted about a year, so Im pretty disappointed.

I will not be buying this product again sadly.

If it had been twice the price or so I would have given it 3. The negatives first:The viewing angles are horrible. Had to put a book under it to get a decent look. The contrast setting doesnt do ANYTHING.

The positives:It looks really great. I like the glossy look and finish. The price. You really cant beat the price. You get a decent LED screen with Widescreen and Full HD. I kind of regret buying because of the negatives.

But what can you expect for this price :).

I absolutely loved this case when I bought it. I would have said it was well worth the spend. HOWEVER. after about 3 months its already falling apart. The silicone color band around the edge is almost completely detached from the hard plastic shell.

The rubber pieces near the charging port have stretched out and its ripping all over. My phone has been through the normal wear and tear but its very clear that the pieces of the case that are tearing up are not due to physical damage but rather poorcheap construction.

I am very disappointed in this as Lifeproof is known for their durability. If this case cost 20 I would say it was well worth it but for the price I bought it, its trash.

A very good screen. I did have to make some tweaks to the Arduino library to make the graphics line up properly, and the colours also require adjustment. However, it was a quick job so I can’t complain too much.

Great little device – bright display with wide viewing angle. Software setup is reasonably straightforward. I have had a few issues with colours randomly not being the colour specified – there doesn’t seem to be any way of fixing this other than turning it off and on a few times until it starts working again.

The 10″ LCD screen was the perfect upgrade to my original Picade. I received the package in the United States faster than I expected. Even without instructions, the installation was quick and easy. I could have easily modified the original black cardboard bezel to fit the larger screen, but instead I used my wife’s Cricut Explore Air 2 to create a brand new bezel.

For my Picade’s power, I use a 12V AC/DC adapter that feeds two inexpensive 5V 3A buck converters that each have a micro USB connector. One converter powers the screen and the other converter powers the Raspberry Pi.

This simple configuration provides more than enough stable power (no low voltage warnings). The new and larger 10″ screen looks amazing in the original Picade cabinet. I think it looks even better than some of the earlier 12″ screen upgrades.

Again, this was the perfect upgrade.

The LCD itself is really good. A nice bright and sharp display with good contrast and viewing angle. However, the kit does not come with any mounting pillars for the LCD controller. I have the older Picade (hence using this upgrade kit as recommended) and the controller board mounting holes are different, so it does not fit the existing pillars.

The PCB holes are 2mm, so getting suitable pillars has been a challenge. Similarly, the LCD control button PCB holes are different as well, so don’t fit the attachment holes of the older Picade. It would have been nice if the kit was supplied with suitable self adhesive 2mm pillars.

The LCD panel itself is slimmer than the original, so the original screen mounting method doesn’t work. The panel is not held tightly enough. I ended up using Gorilla tape to fix it to the modified bezel card.

No ideal, but works. The ribbon cable is very fiddly to fit and the socket is fragile, so you need to be careful. In summary, great screen and a good upgrade, but the kit should have come with a suitable mounting kit.

You need to be a bit creative to work out how to mount it all yourself.

Screen is crisp, decent color range and great viewing angle for use in a Picade (looks good in both portrait or landscape mode). I have a little light bleed on the top right portion on mine. , Also, this particular screens installs upside down compared to the 8″ screen shown in the Picade tutorial.

I didn’t know that so I had to take the whole thing apart and flip the screen (which got some dust in between the plexiglass and LCD. ) No instructions were included, the Pi 3 B doesn’t have enough power, so plan on using an external USB plug and adapter that you provide.

Also edit the config file in retropie otherwise it won’t detect it on startup. Finally, no instructions were included, but it was wrapped and packed incredibly well traveling from overseas. It did include the ribbon cables and control panel for the buttons.

The 225 series has become a fantastic monitor. initially it was plauged with bad capacitors feeding the ilumination bars, and the manufacture discontined the monitor after relasing a replacement capacitor set.

Most “Working” 225s today have had the capacitors replaced and they are absolutely fantastic, and one of the most reliable monitos for color and lifespan i’ve used to-date in my video business. This is not a gaming monitor, dont expect wicked fast refresh rates, but these monitors were comparable with Apple cenema displays costing 4x as much designed for video and color work.

i’ve had 2 units in almost constant operation for over 6 years, and this ebay 3rd unit we just purchased is performing perfectly. I always recommend Samsung (even the 225 lemon is fantastic if its been repaired).

You’;ll find several repair kits on ebay as well. if you have a little skill in fixing/replacing components, you can handle the replacement work if necessary. I am considering buying a few dead 225’s and fixing them for my sons computer.

if you want a 225, just be sure its working and you wont be disapointed for a sharp image with true color, or even over enhanced. its loaded with features and you can run both Analogue and Digital to the screen simultaneously, and source switch between.

One of the best monitors ever made. The Samsung 204t is a 1600×1200 60 Hz. native resolution, 20. 1″ monitor that is even today, astounding. I have one on my laptop, and I play videos, games, an the monitor is flawless.

The Samsung 204t has VGA-15 and DVI connectors, and a standard PC monitor power cord connector. It automatically senses which input is being used. The aspect ratio is 4:3. All other things being equal, I have found 4:3 to be a much more useful format than 16:9, because 4:3 is how people work.

16:9 is how people see, but only on a large scale. Movie screens are 16:9, because the visual field for human beings is about twice as wide as it is high. Obviously, that’s totally inconsequential in a computer monitor, because it cannot fill the entire visual field in either direction.

4:3 aspect ratio saves desk space and is more convenient from a productivity standpoint. The one drawback is CCFL back lighting in the TFT matrix (LCD panel) but that can now be retrofitted with LED back lighting.

The Samsung 204t is to monitors what the Pontiac GTO is to cars. If the GTO could be fitted with a modern engine and drive-train, it would be like the Samsung 204t with LED back lighting. This monitor can keep up with fast video.

It has a fairly wide dynamic range, and luminance is rated conservatively. The colors are quite vibrant, a real achievement when these were manufactured. The manufacturer of the display panel (a LCD flat-panel monitor is a power supply, logic board and display panel in a plastic case on a stand) is made by AUOptoelectronics, the premiere superstar in LCD technology manufacturing.

The Samsung 204t feels substantial. It weighs roughly 20 pounds. Refurbished units can be as good as originals, because many 204t monitors were made during the capacitor blight. During those years many defective capacitors came out of Taiwanese manufacturers, because of flawed dielectric technology.

The failed capacitors cause malfunctioning, but do no further damage, so replacing them makes the 204t nearly electronically indestructible.

I Have a couple of these – one purchased new, maybe four or five years ago, another I bought used on ebay. These monitors are terrific for CAD work or if you just plain need a huge desktop or any other high-res purpose.

The high resolution modes provide substantially more workspace real estate than more current 1080p standard monitors can provide. Unfortunately the 1080p standard clobbered the high-res market and high-res (1920 x 1200; 16:10) monitors are now extremely expensive.

The 245BW picture is always clear and sharp with terrific color and high-contrast that Samsung is well known for. It stacks up extremely well against newer LED backlit LCDs. In fact I bought a new Samsung 27″ (S27B350H) and was so disappointed with this newer $360 monitor after owning the 245BW that I returned it.

I though it was a piece of junk compared to the 245BW. What a step back Samsung! The new S27B350H lacks a DVI connection (The 245BW lacks HDMI but you can get a DVI to HDMI cable if you really want that – for myself I way prefer the solid screw-on connection that DVI provides over HDMI which always seems to fall out and disconnect).

The newer Samsungs also have cheapo plastic stands. If you want a solid stand you can find the 245BW stands selling for around $50 on ebay and they’re a bargain at that. This is the most solid metal monitor stand ever made by any monitor manufacturer.

The newer Samsungs like the S27B350H also lack VESA mounts. (The 245BW is 100×200 VESA so you can mount it to a wall or cubical unit). The 245BW is also fairly energy-wise though not as much so as an LED backlit monitor.

Not a biggy for me. All in all – I don’t know of a better 24″ monitor. I have been only disappointed about one thing with this monitor. The supplied monitor cord that Samsung stuck in the box is a piece of junk.

I don’t understand how the manufacturer could build such a quality product and then package it with a cheapo cord that is going to pick up 60 cycle noise and make the monitor look bad. So if you get this make sure you buy a quality cord worthy of this monitor.
