20 Best Vegan Brunch Denver (2022 Updated)

This has the yummiest recipes. All of them have been good. Is it the healthiest? Probably not. But the yummiest? Yes!

After receiving this book and reviewing – it is not what was looking for – many ingredients were unfamiliar and/or unavailable locally – almost like this was written for European vegans. I would have returned it but shipping was almost as much as I paid for the book – so I kept it.

Maybe I’ll find something useful in it. Not giving it a negative review – just not what I wanted in a vegan cookbook.

One of my all time favorite vegan cookbooks. My go to when having company over. I often buy a copy for gift giving as the recipes are that good. The beginning of the book covers some basics of vegan cooking that many just starting out with this new lifestyle may not be familiar with.

All over worth it.

I bought this product because Ghost is just so hyped up on every platform and I am going to share with you all the reasons why it sucks. 1) Protein content is low but I figured it would make up for it with flavor, boy was I wrong.

2) Flavor super mid, accurate tho because it tastes like raw pancake batter, kinda flour and a little tiny bit of flavor. 3) gritty texture never really mixes smooth, often a problem for vegan protein but I’ve never had one this bad.

4) The tub is just way too f#$king big. I am a vegan to help the environment and you’re gunna sell me a product that wastes this much plastic? 5) I am 6’1 210 pounds lean, this is not a review from some skinny vegan who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, go buy VegaSport protein powder, 10g more protein, better texture, better taste.

Primal Kitchen is absolutely amazing. I have been using their Buffalo sauce on everything since I first tasted it. It is going to be the same with this new Ranch Dressing. It has this wonderful consistency that is only slightly oily and wonderful to eat.

The Ranch flavor is very natural and not too strong. You can get a slight hint of avocado along with some subtle spices as well. It is a wonderful addition to any meal that somehow seems to always add the right amount of flavor in the right direction.

I have dipped vegetarian buffalo wings and vegetables in it while watching hockey, put it on vegetarian egg and chorizo soft tacos first thing in the morning, and used it as the finishing touch for every salad I have at night.

It is perfect for every food and every time of day. Primal Kitchen understands flavor more than any other company in the market including the billion dollar giants.

This Caesar dressing lacked taste. Even though there is supposed to be roasted garlic, garlic powder and rosemary extract I couldn’t even taste any of it. It was also a little more tart than I would have expected or liked it to be with the apple cider and distilled vinegars present.

It really didn’t taste like a Caesar dressing at all. Couldn’t taste the black pepper either. There is a taste that carries through while you are eating it but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was exactly, it just tasted cardboard like.

Personally I wouldn’t buy this for all the above reasons and the price at $10 a bottle for only 235 ml is also a turn off. It’s also missing any kind of cheese like the obvious parmesan or Romano that I would have expected to be one of the ingredients.

I don’t buy much (air quotes) organic sauces but if they’re all like this one was, I don’t think I’d buy any again. Would definitely not recommend this to anyone as almost everyone I know are foodies like me.

As far as organic goes, a home made dressing would beat this hands down using all natural ingredients like egg yolk and lemon juice. Just an end note, I do not have a cold and there is nothing wrong with my tasting or smelling.

I actually smelled it from the bottle as well and it’s exactly the way I described it in its smell as well. It actually smelled like a bland ranch dressing. Come to think of it, that’s the best way to put how it tastes because there was no other flavors.

The only thing positive that I could say about this product, is that the texture is just right.

I really thought I was going to like this. I normally like Primal Kitchen mayo’s and I thought I was going to like the Vegan Ranch Dressing. It looked great from the outside when it was unopened. When I opened it up, the color wasn’t that appetizing to me, it was an off yellow color and not white like normal Ranch Dressings.

I pushed on through with the taste despite being put ogg by the color, it did NOT taste like Ranch. I don’t even know what it’s trying to be. It’s an okay dip if your not thinking its Ranch. While it is okay as a dip and not a dressing, I didn’t particialry enjoy the consistincy of it.

I kept shaking it to get back to it “original” state. It kept thicking up- if thats the correct term, and the top kept getting oil after long periods of stasis. I won’t be buying this again.

As I cooked it for tacos, it left an odd pink liquid in my pan. i didn’t know whether to drain off or keep. I used sauteed onions and garlic and browned it. It was starting to look good. I added a little olive oil to introduce the greasy quality of beef.

Looked more like beef. Then my husband walked in and said “what’s that cafeteria lunch smell?” He did not mean that in a good way. Not to be deterred, I added all of my taco seasonings and a little water to keep it from burning while it simmered and I heated up the taco shells.

It was not as good as a beef taco even though the texture was similar. It was a little softer than beef. but I thought well it’s better for me so I ate my tacos. Just to be honest, it did not come close to beef tacos, but was perfectly edible.

I wish I’d used about two or three times the seasoning that I would have in beef as I think that might have helped. I eat a lot of impossible burgers and they don’t taste like beef either but I like them.

Now if I was a vegan, it may have tasted better. I wanted to eat healthier so I hope it is but not positive. It only has three less grams of fat then ground beef and I may have added that back in with the olive oil but that’s a healthier fat than beef fat.

I say to each their own. Give it a whirl while it’s on sale. Season heavily.

The problem I’m seeing in these comments is that people are biting into it and expecting it to taste like actual meat. There are GOING to be differences between the taste of the real thing vs the imitation.

It comes with the territory. Second, the difference between impossible and beyond is the difference between a homemade turkey burger and a burger from McDonalds. Beyond burgers are fuller, and meatier in texture.

Impossible burgers add iron to give it a richer flavor. But they cook like fast-food products. Both are great options for someone who’s into cooking meat but wants a more ethical option. But give and take, man.

I love this stuff. I’ve used it in pasta sauce, chili, taco filler and anywhere else you would normally use ground beef. I’ve fed it to friends and family who were afterwards shocked to learn that it was not real meat.

You can season it however you like and it basically cooks the same way meat would. I’m leaving this review partly because I just tried the “crumbles” from the same brand and they were so awful it gave me a new appreciation for this absolutely superior raw ground beef style.

Note: I am not vegetarian or vegan. I limit the meat in my diet for health reasons (inflammation). This is legitimately a quality meat substitute. I enjoy meat. I love food. I highly recommend this product.

I’m not your typical Ambrosia user– 54 YOA menopausal female. I NEVER eat breakfast and bought this to use as a meal replacement and to try and stop the muscle destruction menopause does to a woman’s body.

I’ve spent sooooo much money on other powders that I just end up throwing away because they taste terribly or mostly they severely affect my stomach. I bought this as a recommendation from a vitamin store, And I was so impressed I went back a few days later and bought two more bags.

Planta is the tastiest protein powder I’ve ever had, and it does not affect my stomach in any way. I have six different flavors now and every single one of them is exquisitely delicious, particularly the sprinkle cake.

I also love the strawberry because it’s not as sweet as the others. Even my lactose intolerant daughter is now a fan. I am now a subscriber and advocate of this line for life. I just hope they continue to grow but don’t get bought out by a bigger company because bigger companies only care about profits, and not people and quality products.

I truly love this protein. It mixes well. The flavors are on point. It mixes well. My favorite flavor has been the pb&j and my surprise flavor was the French toast as I am not a fan of bananas. I like bananas mixed in things not overpowering flavor and I was worried it would be nothing but a cinnamon banana flavor.

It shocked me how much I liked it. I find the vanilla to be a basic VANILLA nothing special the Peanutbutter is very good. The candy bar is amazing flavor and same for the strawberry icecream. The smores has marshmallows, I blended my shake it added a great flavor.

I have not tried melted chocolate yet but that will be my next buy. I have not tried Blueberry scone, gingerbread or Chai nor do I plan on trying those three but that is a personal preference on flavors.

The cupcake was really good however I did find it slightly sweeter and I prefered it with a little more liquid. I was surprised also to like the pb banana. I would say the pb banan was not my favorite but it was good.

I had purchased some flavors originally off Amazon and then they had a sale here so I bought everything else I had not been able to try yet.

IšverstiShow in original languageOf the plant-based protein powders out there, Owyn’s Chocolate is one of the better ones I’ve tasted. It’s definitely not as chalky and vegetal tasting as Vega. I wouldn’t say I love it, but it’s not egregious and it gets the job done.

I discovered Owyn about a year ago after randomly purchasing their Cold Brew Coffee flavored pre-made protein shake from Target. I was blown away by the flavor, and I immediately went to Owyn’s website to purchase the corresponding powder.

I was disappointed to learn that there are only three flavors of powder offered — Chocolate, Cookies and Creamless, and Vanilla. So I purchased Chocolate. Since then, I have been coming back to Owyn for protein powder, and I’ve tried all three flavors, but Chocolate — while not amazing — is by far the better of the three powder offerings.

I expected Cookies and Creamless to be much better than it was, and Vanilla smells much better than it tastes. It’s not terrible, but it’s just very bland. So I keep coming back to their Chocolate flavor, not because I love it, but because it’s better than the other brands of plant-based protein I’ve tried, and I’m really not interested in wasting upwards of $35 per tub on potentially awful tasting alternatives.

I just don’t understand why they can’t or don’t offer their other shake flavors as powders, because the Cold Brew Coffee flavor is really *very* good. I don’t use whey protein anymore because it wrecks my stomach, but the Cold Brew Coffee flavor is on par with some of the best tasting whey proteins out there — like Optimum Nutrition (ON).

So their powders are a total letdown in comparison. In summary, it’s fine, it delivers the protein supplementation I’m looking for, and it tastes better than some others like Vega. But please, Owyn, work on your powders to try to capture what’s so great about your pre-made shakes.

IšverstiShow in original languageI use this as a 1/2 meal replacement at lunch. I mix it with I cup of whole milk, 2/3 cups of frozen blueberries, the protein powder, and when I remember, I add a teaspoon or two of Green Vibrance powder.

I blend this combination together in a blender and so have an ersatz shake to drink with a salad or a small sandwich. Three stars because of this worry: The only thing that bothers me is seeing little clear pieces of.

something. littering the protein powder. I can’t figure out what it is and I’m worried it’s plastic. If it IS plastic, then OWYN Must halt their mixing space and find out HOW that plastic has made it into the protein powder.

I want to bring this up with customer service, but can find absolutely NO phone number or email address.

IšverstiShow in original languageI love what is inside this protein powder, and I especially love that it is dairy-free and plant-based. It is my daily breakfast and I feel great. I am putting on muscle in my workouts, and I feel more alert than ever during long work days.

My digestive system is much happier too. I don’t think I’ve ever had enough protein in my diet, and I feel amazing now that I do. I also love that it has amino acids and some carbs. All that nutrition instantly wakes me up in the morning.

But I do not like the flavor ( I ordered vanilla), and the powder tends not to dissolve. I want to give this product 5 stars, but I can’t. It loses a star because the flavor is much too sweet, and the powder clumps and/or doesn’t combine.

No matter how much liquid I add, hot or cold; or how much I shake my blender bottle. there’s always a big chunk of balled up protein powder at the bottom of my drink. But I’ll put up with these negatives, because this product is dairy-free and vegan, most cost effective and highest quality that I’ve found.

Will continue to purchase. This time I think I’ll try the chocolate to see if I like the flavor more.

I was looking for a new protein powder (my old one started putting unnatural sweeteners in) and decided to try this one. It doesn’t leave me thirsty as some of the other sweeteners. The flavor is good and not fake tasting.

The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is I found it a little more difficult to dissolve in water. With my previous protein powder, I was able to use my mini whisk. With this one, it just doesn’t work as well.

I feel like I almost need to use some sort of powered device which I just can’t be bothered to do. I want to try the strawberry flavor but PLEASE make a chocolate version!!.

Hellmann’s Vegan Dressing & Spread Jar is great for anyone who is allergic to eggs as well as for anyone following a Vegan diet. It works and can be used just like regular mayonnaise. We use it for chicken salad, tuna salad and for sandwiches.

It does taste a bit different but it is good. Perfect for the whole family. My son is happy because before the Vegan Hellmanns’s he couldn’t use mayonnaise at all due to his egg allergy. The Hellmann’s Vegan Dressing & Spread Jar has been a staple in our gluten free home for a few years now.

I also like that they use sunflower oil instead of soy oil and the rest of the ingredients aren’t to bad either.

This is perhaps my new favorite condiment to spread on sandwiches, salads, pizza, and burgers!. This mayo is free from eggs and gluten, and is plant-based and vegan-friendly. The taste is well-balanced with all of the rich flavor that I would expect from regular egg-based mayo.

The texture is creamy and smooth, which is ideal for all of the foods that I love. The dressing makes it convenient to add extra flavor and flair to any dish! I like how this may is made from simple and natural ingredients while cutting out harmful preservatives and artificial flavors.

This product certainly exceeded my expectation for a vegan mayo, and I continue to be a big fan of the product I totally recommend this mayo to others!.

Anyone who uses traditional mayonnaise but wants a healthier alternative with all the taste, should definitely give this a try. Who needs those partially hydrogenated trans fats anyway? Your heart deserves the best — THIS! Hellmann’s should be congratulated for originating this amazing product.

Even if you haven’t tried regular mayonnaise, you would get a flavor kick out of this. And it comes in a useful jar that you can use for catching those summer bugs — like fireflies — once you finish it.

So take it on your next picnic and see what a delightful party you can have — your best summer is waiting out there!!.

This book is SO cute! The illustrations are adorable and the recipes are awesome for beginner or seasoned vegans. Definitely recommend!!!!

The cutest illustrations, definitely a highlight! Really aesthetically pleasing. Easy to follow instructions. But don’t go into this thinking it’s to edibles, it’s for snacks to make while high.

I have received two copies of this, the second copy was in worse condition than the first. Absolutely a waste of money.

I tried this product with pretty moderate expectations. I’ve done a lot of backpacking and tend to expect textures and flavors to be just meh. This meal was a pleasant surprise! There were real apple chunks that didn’t turn into mush, the grains (oats and quinoa) kept some texture, and the flavor was bright and energizing.

I liked the nutritional profile as well, since non-egg-based backpacking breakfasts tend to be extremely heavy on carbs (especially sugar) at the expense of protein and fat, which isn’t really enough to keep me going on an active outdoors day.

11g of protein is really an achievement here! There’s no good way to include much fat in dehydrated meals, so they did what they could. The calorie count as pretty low for this by itself, but i tend to add nut butter (2T of peanut or almond really rounds this out) to bolster the protein and fat content.

The packaging worked well. The bag stands reseals as advertised to let it sit after you’ve added your boiled water. It also stands up on its own if you put it down on a flat piece of ground or rock or something.

The folds in the bottom that allow that make it hard to get every last bite out, but you can do it if you’re patient. It’s not very insulated, so once you add the hot water, you have to be careful to touch it only on the very bottom or top (or use a glove or something for insulation).

The lack of any insulation keeps it light and transportable, also means that you can’t add your water and come back to it too many minutes later, or it will have all gone cold. There is some room for improvement, but not enough to bring my rating down by a whole star.

A magical solution to increasing that protein and fat content, and increasing the calorie count for a single packet to something that could reasonably keep an adult going for a morning of backpacking, would help.

And finally, if they could add a fill line marker, even an estimate on the back of the package, that would be super helpful. My water bottles are ancient and have long since lost any volume gradations, so i had to guess how much water I was actually adding.

I ended up adding too much and had to sip some off the top to avoid having a breakfast soup.

I’m always leery of freeze-dried meals since they are mostly flavorless, unexciting and leave me with a sense of eating items that have been processed in a laboratory which is why I was pleasantly surprised to find this meal quite the opposite of my expectations.

Yea, upon first glance, it doesn’t look very appetizing, but after the first 3 bites, I found myself enjoying the meal for both its flavor and function. This meal is absolutely packed with nutrition which helped kick start my morning and get the day going.

The blueberries add just the right amount of natural sweetness to provide balance to the oats and the intermittent crunch of a walnut was quite delectable. Meal prep was a snap (just add hot water and let it sit) and clean up was just as easy (I rinsed the bag before discarding).

One recommendation I do have is to use a little less water (perhaps 3/4 cup) for a thicker consistency and let it sit a bit longer than the recommended 5 minutes to ensure full absorption by the oats and hemp seeds.

This meal would be ideal for backpacking, camping, emergencies and/or even a quick snack where light loads, long shelf-life, speedy meal-prep and clean-up is of the essence. If you need a tasty, functional meal that meet these conditions, I would highly recommend this item.

i’ve had my share of freeze dried food and have found myself both pleasantly surprised and disgusted. i expect somewhere in between and this fairly met my expectations. i like that the ingredients are simple – very basic, with nothing added that shouldn’t be.

The ingredients themselves are nutritious and the whole serving packs a protein punch perfect for the morning get up and go without being overfilling. where i feel it falls short is the flavor. even with the short ingredient list, i expected more.

the apples do taste just like apples, but it’s like the quinoa and oats negate any flavor provided by the fruit and the cinnamon is almost undetectable. that said, it’s not gross, just bland – and sometimes in the world of freeze dried food that’s a win.

one other note: the package instructions fall short on time to let sit in boiling water. it says to rest 5 minutes, but this was not adequate; there was still quite a bit of water and the oats were still pretty chewy (i know they will always be a bit chewy being reconstituted, but this was a little more than should have been).

it is possible that if it sat longer and the liquid had been entirely absorbed, the flavor may have improved as well.

So I picked these up because I wanted something I could eat on my drive to work that would hold me until lunch time. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookies, Peanut Butter Cookies, and the Snickerdoodle cookies.

My favorite was immediately the Snickerdoodles. I can’t describe why that is, it just matched what I wanted the most. So I bought another 12 pack of the Snickerdoodle, and they were noticeably different.

They had so much more of the cinnamon and sugar coating. Loved it. They also weren’t as soft, I didn’t enjoy that. I ended up buying a third box. This one was just trash. The texture was wrong. They weren’t firm, but they weren’t soft, and the way they looked on the inside just didn’t look right to me.

I had a similar issue with the chocolate chip ones. The first box smelled very strongly of chemicals, almost like gasoline, but the second one was fine. It was just weird, you don’t know what quality you will get when you order these.

This cookie is bland and barely has any pumpkin in it anymore. There’s a much more artificial taste, and the texture/appearance looks more processed than ever. Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookies (especially pumpkin and birthday cake) used to be my favorite, but for the past few years they’ve changed all of their recipes.

The pumpkin is barely edible anymore. The chocolate chip is inedible. The snickerdoodle is the only decent one left, only because of the cinnamon sugar coating. Since formula change after questions of protein content and if they were truly vegan things started going downhill.

And then it seemed to happen again when they started playing around and offering different varieties of cookies. Buy only if you’re really not a picky person.

I feel like everyone who has first started their fitness journey runs into these cookies. They have great advertisement because they are at every gym. I personally don’t think they are that tasty and a big chalky.

I also think a big misconception that a lot of people have who are getting into fitness is that it’s “healthy” or will help you “lose weight” when in reality it has a lot of calories. It’s misleading.

Yes it has a good amount of protein but you can get that somewhere else for far less calories. If you’re bulking and want some quick cals and you don’t mind the taste then this is perfect for you. It’s just not my cup of tea.

This thing is a brilliant creation, particularly if you submerge it under 4 heaping tablespoons of Frontera Cilantro/Jalapeno salsa. Vastly more nutritious than most of the super sugary garbage that people tend to stuff in for breakfast low sugar low fat low in salt.

And a heck of a lot of fun to eat. Will probably extend your life by 2 or 3 years by helping you stave off obesity and Type 2 diabetes.

Healthy, good taste, good texture, not spicy at all, not too salty, low calorie, good protein, decent fiber, quick and easy. but could definitely be cheaper! WARNING: If you have a good strong microwave, do NOT follow the microwave directions! It will turn into a giant steamed dumpling and explode all along the front! Of course if you follow those directions, it’s covered with a plate so it doesn’t make a huge mess, but you will have to eat it out of the bowl with a knife and fork! Microwave uncovered on high for 1 MINUTE, no more! Let it sit for one more minute before opening the microwave, and it will be perfect — and portable!.

i wanted to love this. i microwaved it for about a minute on each side and then pan fried it to crisp up the outside. it tastes like an asian style meal which i was not expecting. because of that, i wouldn’t consider this a breakfast wrap – it tastes more like a lunch thing if that makes sense lol.

it’s not horrible but i personally couldn’t finish it because the taste was throwing me off. :(.

I have been eating these Chik’n strips for years and loved them in so many different recipes. I ate them at least once a day and sometimes for lunch AND dinner. I would buy 10+ packages a week, when i could find that many.

This product was the best meatless protein available, by far and i have recommended them to every other vegan and vegetarian I know. Until now. The new recipe is horrible. They are a strange texture, greasy and they just taste terrible.

I bought a bunch of bags of the new version before realizing there was a new recipe. I made several of the recipes I always make with them and ended up throwing the food away. I decided to see if something with the product had changed and I found out that Morningstar changed the recipe.

Why would you change the best meatless product available into an awful, strange product? And why hasn’t Morningstar Farms responded to all of the terrible reviews and quickly figured out how to get back to the original recipe??? You have lost so many customers, and not customers who occasionally buy these.

Read the reviews. They are all from customers who live off this product. Please fix this. I won’t buy the new recipe, but they are now fully stocked at every store. I understand that this is not an easy request, but listen to your customers.

You have loyal customers who absolutely love the previous version of this product and would continue to buy them in large quantities. Please fix this.

I already wrote a review but I guess it was deleted. My original review was that this new recipe isn’t good and I stand by that. I’ve tried cooking these strips in every way I used to and they just don’t work anymore.

Now, I reached out to MS about this and their response was this: Hi, we recently changed the recipe as part of our clean label initiative. Our goal was to keep the taste and texture as close to the original as possible while using simple, clean ingredients.

We’re sorry you think we missed the mark and will be sure to share your feedback with the foodies in the kitchen. ” I applaud MS for trying to do better, but it doesn’t matter how clean the ingredients are.

If the product is inedible, we’re not going to touch it. I hope they can find a happy medium with both healthy practices and flavor.

Whatever change was made was terrible. I tried to fry in a pan with cooking spray and this is the second bag that came out like mush. Terrible texture and no crumbles. The old recipe I could get a bit crispy and could eat right out of the pan.

This time I mixed with hot taco seasoning and still could not get rid of the aftertaste. Will not buy again. I’m not the vegan, gluten-free market you’re now aiming for, but I’ve bought this product since it hit the shelf.

I’m done with crumbles. I’ll go back to soaking TVP before I buy another bag of this product.

This used to be my go to product to make everything from tacos, to chili, to BBQ beef sandwiches. it was so good! Texture wise, flavor wise I preferred over all other leading brands including Beyond and Impossible.

key word used to! Because recently something has changed and it is beyond horrendous. I do not know what it is exactly and I’m not sure if I even want to know because I purchased a bag of this looking forward to treating to myself to a great meal and was instead met with an odor so foul and overpowering it had me gagging.

this was just opening up the bag, after cooking it my entire house smelled like a combination of extremely out of date cheap canned cat food that had been left out in the sun, fresh vomit, burnt soap, rotting flesh, and toe jam.

No amount of seasoning, tweaking, saucing, sateing, or soaking makes any difference and the worst part? It tastes the exact same way as it smells. It lingers in the air, you can taste it every time you try to chew it, it’s the worst thing I’ve ever tasted in my entire life.

The texture has changed as well, this product used to have a perfect meaty texture that also had moisture, now it has the texture of something dried out and to my horror. it reminds me of consuming bug eggs or something.

Disgusting, putrid, completely inedible and a waste of money. If it’s not broken, don’t mess with it! I have no idea what has happened here but something has gone horribly, horribly wrong and should probably be fixed as soon as possible because this is the worst thing I’ve ever tried to eat and I will not be making any attempts to do so ever again (unless the original recipe is brought back).

I tried this product a couple of months ago and thought it was disgusting. The smell and taste are absolutely terrible, even when cooked with seasoning and sauce. I can’t quite put my finger on it – a combination of soap and vomit.

I recently came across several glowing reviews of the product. I figured I must have had a bad batch and decided to give it another try. Same thing. Absolutely disgusting even when drenched in sloppy joe sauce.

I thought something must be wrong with my taste buds, but reading the reviews here I realize that the great reviews were for the original recipe, not this new recipe. Don’t waste your money.

I did not know that the recipe changed until I read these reviews. I came to the reviews after doing a Google search, asking if Gardein changed the recipe for their crumbles. This new recipe is terrible.

I don’t know why Gardein changed this product. For years it made the best alternative meat products in that market. I’ve recommended Gardein a lot. Unfortunately, I can no longer do that. Like others have said, it smells really bad and it tastes like burnt dog food.

I never thought I’d prefer Morning Star over Gardein. I hope you guys didn’t throw the old recipe away, because you need to bring it back and announce that you did so loudly to bring back customers.

The Backpacker’s Pantry peanut butter banana oatmeal was delicious. Absolutely no complaints about the flavor. There’s a separate pack of peanut butter inside that you first empty into the main packet before adding hot water.

The peanut butter was rich and creamy and perfectly portioned to make to texture of the oatmeal smooth. My main complaints are that the instructions call for a cup of boiling water, and I have this pre-marked on my container for boiling water, but if you didn’t have a way to measure exactly a cup you’d risk over or under filling.

Not a huge deal, but I wish more of these had a fill line on the inside of the package. Second, the instructions called for 5 minutes of sitting time after adding the water, and this was not enough. I let mine sit for 10 minutes and the oatmeal was still not completely soft.

Third, the banana chunks were delicious, but mostly greyish in color, did not look very appetizing, but that’s a very minor complaint. Overall would definitely enjoy this again!.

The oatmeal breakfast (or snack) is lightweight and very easy to make in the provided pouch. You only need a spoon and boiling water. The peanut butter is in a separate packet within the pouch, so you can add as much or little as you want and save for a later snack.

The directions call for 1 cup of boiling water, this is perfect if you don’t have or use milk with your oatmeal. I prefer my oatmeal to have a thicker consistency and topped with almond milk, so next time I would probably add less water.

Overall, this was very good and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for something to keep you full and to minimize clean-up. The calorie, carb and fat content are a little high, but just right for an active day of backpacking and climbing.

This ended up being a pretty decent breakfast, but I made a few mistakes along the way. First of all, I let it sit longer than the recommended time. I’m not sure if that’s why my oats were basically mush.

Maybe. I mixed what I thought was everything and took a bite and. almost decided to throw the whole thing out. It tasted like. mushy water? Luckily I forced myself to take a few more bites and thus realized that all of the cinnamon was at the bottom of the bag.

After mixing all of the cinnamon in this was actually pretty decent tasting. Certainly an easy, warm, and filling breakfast. I didn’t get a strong peanut butter flavor, nor was there a strong banana flavor.

Glad I couldn’t really taste the banana, would have liked more peanut butter. Would try again.

I really wanted to try this because of the sausage and gravy, but I wasn’t too thrilled about the fake egg. Seems like it should have had some sort of biscuit bottom or top like. pot pie or quiche. The fake eggs were unremarkable.

Kind of a weird texture. The sausage was the weird part – fake sausage is so easy to make! Fake sausage in any brand is usually okay, because it’s all about the spices. There were no spices! I isolated some – they taste like sausage on a school-lunch pizza.

It was very expensive, but I think the grocery stores make the prices.

I liked this product as I have a mammal meat allergy & have gone vegan. It is a very convenient to heat/eat as a weekday breakfast. The flavor is very good, but could be improved by reducing the onion powder, as the taste was a little strong on the onion.

This would even be good with some cajun seasoning added.

I took one bite and had to check the label for cheese. If you like cheese, you’ll like this. Look, I’m not a fan of cheese. There is nothing wrong with the cheese sauce, there’s actually a decent amount of it, it’s just that cheese tastes really gross to me.

The sausage is good, the egg is alright, and the potatoes are a bit hard and bland. I’m not buying it again, but if you like cheese sauce, it’s great.

This is a fantastic breakfast option from Mountain House. I found this even better than their incredibly good mainstay Beef Stroganoff. It’s actually spicy and its well-seasoned; I didn’t need, or want, to add anything to this.

It does contain milk, for those non-dairy people out there.

I found the amount to be adequate for 2 especially if with toast ! I only used 1 cup of water and it was fine. I let it sit 2 minutes longer after there mid way stir. The spice was pretty much spot on and not overdone.

More potato shreads would be beneficial to the palette.

I was actually pretty skeptic about it but it really tasted like there was chorizo in it. Plus it had a little kick that I didn’t really need to add anything extra, spices wize. (Freeze dried egg I usually have to add some red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper).
