20 Best Vegetable For Dogs (2022 Updated)

I came across Dr. Harvey’s products a few months after my almost 16 y. o. (lifelong fed raw food ) clumber spaniel, Tater was diagnosed with “kidney failure & anemia”. He was put on KD food, which while he did like, I’ve rarely fed any kibble.

I saw a few Dr. Harvey’s customers praise the food for their dogs with kidney issues and started off with a few small bags and I think samples of ALL products. All 3 of my clumbers, 16 y. o. , his 10 yo son and 18 mo gr’dau.

LOVE these products. After a short time weaning from KD to Dr. Harvey’s, Tater’s bloodwork showed improvement in kidney values AND the anemia. The staff is great answering questions & doing phone chats.

My vet even said this was good for kidney issues. All of the products contain herbs, etc I would normally supplement even in my raw feeding so in reality, the cost of Dr. Harvey’s is not really outrageous when you balance out the cost of all single herbs you would be paying for separately.

Tater is now 16 yr, 1 mo. and doing great. I even alternate Oracle with reg raw diet for my pup or she pouts not getting the “special food” grampa gets !.

I have been feeding this brand to my cats as an alternative to canned foods for a couple years now, and in April we got a 6month old puppy. She came to us from her previous owners with a high protein adult dog kibble and a litany of digestive issues.

After trying several options of dog food over the course of months, ultimately I came to the conclusion that no matter what kind of kibble I fed her, it was going to cause her to have diarrhea. I started feeding her chicken and rice and boiled carrots or pumpkin purée to stabilize her guts, slowly adding ingredients to her diet to try to isolate the things that cause her digestive upset.

Now, 6 months later, she is doing well on raw and cooked whole foods. I have been cooking for her at home or buying her frozen raw food from a local pet store, but the time and effort of the first and the cost of the latter (combined with having to remember to pull food from the freezer twice a day with enough time for it to thaw before meals) was becoming an issue.

I had previously considered and decided against honest kitchen for my dog, because most of their recipes include peas (more so the grain free varieties, but even the whole grain options mostly include peas) and I’ve read that peas in a dog’s diet can prevent adequate absorption of taurine in the diet.

However, recently I came across the grain free version of this fruits & veggies meal base, which of course was made with peas, but it prompted me to go searching for a not grain free option. So I tracked down this product! Admittedly the most inconvenient part of feeding my dog at home has been preparing rice routinely, and having a variety of fruits vegetables on hand and preparing them twice a day, all while worrying that I may be depriving my dog of important nutrients with my incomplete knowledge of dog nutrition.

This mix has completely removed the worst part of preparing food for my dog from the equation, while giving me peace of mind that nothing is being left out of her diet. Now all I have to do is mix up what we refer to as “dog soup” (and “cat soup” respectively), and measure out her protein.

My dog absolutely loves this stuff (her relentless interest in the cat soup also nudged me towards trying this option), and she hasn’t had any diarrhea since switching her over to an honest kitchen diet.

Now I just wait and make sure no skin allergy flare ups result from prolonged exposure to any ingredients in this food. Fingers crossed! disclaimer: my dog loves the taste of this stuff and will leave nothing behind, but she also loves fruits and veggies in general (she even wants to eat my lemons and limes, and one of her favorite treats is the leftover tops of strawberries), so if you have a dog who is picky about their food, this may be a gamble.

My cats are not crazy about their honest kitchen blend, it’s not for everyone. However, the quality is good and if your pet is one of the ones who loves the taste, it’s a great alternative to costly and time consuming raw feeding.

First off, I gave a review of a 3 rating on the product ACANA Limited Ingredients, which I have used for several months and highly mixed with human beef, chicken, vegetables, egg whites and bone broth.

But, I am giving “The Honest Kitchen” a 5 star rating, at least for now. Why? I have two very different pups (both are 2 1/2 years old) but have two very different needs. The 45 lb female is super active and eats any thing (literally) and was never full.

The 65 lb. male is very particular and less active than his companion and would rather go hungry then eat something that did not pick his nose. Solution: Find a food combination that satisfied both and kept the price reasonable.

Tried out “The Honest Kitchen Beef Recipe Grain Free Dehydrated. ” Expensive – yes! But knowing what each pup’s Kcal requirements were (and Vet reviewed), I found that ACANA primarily worked with the over active 45 pd.

pup, when mixed with 1/4 c. dry flakes (makes 3/4 cup wet) with Honest Kitchen, and added boiled chicken and vegetables, and 1/2 c. ACANA at bedtime and she was very satisfied. The 65 pd. pup is only given 1 1/4 dry cups twice/day Honest Kitchen and boiled chicken and 1/4 cup ACANA at night, with no additives.

(However, I do add Organic, low or no salt, Beef Bone Broth mixed with water to all meals. ) The pups stools also improved and the 65 lb. pup’s anal glands and allergies are clearing up. He licks every drop and cleans his plate.

I do think that ACANA has a good product, especially if the pup has allergies (which I was originally looking for. ) However, they need to UP the fiber, lower the sugars and make it more enticing to a dog’s nose.

I am no chemist, so I could be way off on my evaluation; but, I can only evaluate what results from two different types of pup’s reactions are and how they behave and react to the food. Price (on auto ship for extra small/small) wise: ACANA: is 100 cups/25 lbs.

where as The Honest Kitchen is 40 cups/10 lbs. If you have medium to extra large dogs The Honest Kitchen is very pricey. However, you do not have any uneaten food and the pup’s bellies are full. That is why I have struggled (and probably will in the future) to find the right combination for each pup at a price for good food, that I can afford.

ACANA is a VERY good product; however, it just does not fill a pup’s belly up, whereas “The Honest Kitchen” does.

After 2 months of exhausting, in-depth research regarding canine gastric workings and evolution, the industrial control that has degraded the dog food quality, and calculations of the costs that I could afford, I have arrived at HK Grain Free Turkey Dehydrated.

I tried several, increasingly expensive, excellent kibbles and my rescued 6-year-old Boston Terrier just could not tolerate them. She had IBS issues, stomach growling, voracious thirst, sudden bouts of loose stools, shedding, flatulence, low energy, gland issues, and ‘boogery’ eyes.

ALL but the boogery eyes have gone away since switching her to this dehydrated food! I mix it the day before and refrigerate it to give plenty of time for re-hydration. I add a little more warm water before I give it to her.

She loves the food. I throw in several small pieces of quality chicken or turkey breast or thighs to up her lean protein. The ‘pudding consistency so many people don’t like is exactly what makes this food perfect; hydrated, pureed food is easier to digest! Decades ago I had a Boston with liver issues; I cooked and pureed all her food; I wish this dehydrated food had existed! I give her hard knuckle bones or bully sticks to gnaw on from time to time to keep her teeth scraped and clean.

We have been feeding the NB bison to our dogs for years. The texture has always been like a light loaf, and in fact I notice that the name now includes “pate. ” The texture of the most recent shipment (4 cases!) is more like soup than pate.

Clearly a quality control issue, which is never good (what else is missed?), so I called Natural Balance directly. The phone person was very pleasant, apologized for the texture, took down the can “numbers” and acknowledged that it was a quality control issue.

“We have a very strict quality control process, and somehow it must have gotten through. ” That answer is completely unacceptable. Good quality control, by definition, is the part of the production process that NEVER “gets through” — otherwise, what does quality control mean? This is food, not patio furniture.

And this isn’t a subtle quality issue — anyone looking at this could tell it was soup, not pate, so obviously no quality control person ever went near this batch. Ultimately, the phone person was very casual about the problem, and certainly made no offer to fix the problem.

When I complain to Chewy, I know they will make good, which somehow isn’t fair. It’s not their problem. Anyhow, I’ll be looking for a new food that isn’t NB.

We have a small breed dog who would exhibit worrisome signs after eating. We have tried a multitude of brands, all causing her to eat grass, hide and have digestive issues. After doing alot of research we determined that she had protein sensitivities.

This brand kept coming up as one that recognized this issue and worked to provide a nutritious alternative for a healthy diet. We had nothing to loose so we ordered this food along with the wet canned version.

It has been a month now and our little dog has turned right around and is thriving. She is energetic, has no anxiety to load noises anymore, no longer hides after eating, her heart rate is no longer rapid and her eyes even appear clearer! This brand has been truly a blessing for us as all other dog food brands seem to push the high protein diet.

My pitbull suddenly became itchy we searched and searched for the right food. FOUND IT with Natural balance vegetarian. We were thrilled and she ate this food like we were giving her treats, she devoured it even the cat liked this stuff, (not that we feed it to him).

We have fed our dog this product in dry and canned, for a year. It was such a hit we found it on Chewy and put it on auto delivery. And then. BAM they CHANGED the label. we thought no big deal. (Kev wont know) WRONG! Something else CHANGED.

She has refused to eat any of the canned. We have canceled our auto ship. Now looking for another canned food for our girl. Went from fantastic to trash and we have a case and a half left over, we will take to local shelter to donate.

It is a kind of vegetable mixed food, which is beneficial to my dog’s intestinal flora. I was confused before buying it, but after consulting my pet doctor, I decided to buy them, and my dogs also like them.

I bought this as a healthy supplement to my dogs diet, I honestly didn’t even know if she would like it or not, and she loves it! It smells like hamster food & beets but she doesn’t mind 🙂 It makes her poo beet red which is alarming but I know it’s just the veggies.

For an extra treat I add in bone broth powder.

Unlike other veggie mixes, this one has no legumes! LOVE IT! I rehydrate it and add a couple of spoonfuls to my 11y mpoodle reg food and she gobbled it down!

I think this is a good product but it is a little misleading, as there are hardly any vegetables in the cans. Out of all the cans I opened, I saw maybe a couple of green beans and the meat and gravy.

There was also a time or two where I opened the cans and it was mainly gravy and nothing else. My dog had a moment to think on eating this and he ate it and seemed to like it, but it was different. As long as my boy is happy ad healthy, that is all that matters to me.

My dog loves it and when he’s sick, this is what we feed him. If we mix it with his dry food he acts the same way. Although it doesn’t smell great my dog chows down on it. Its a good price for the quality and if you have a dog who’s a picky eater, I definitely recommend this (this will most likely be the review for the rest of the dog food reviews).

My beagle is a very picky eater. From the day we got him, he’s been that way. We got him to petsmart and let him smell all the bags of food. He picked this one. He gets the dry food every day and on special occasions such as Christmas and his birthday he gets the wet food.

He LOOOOOVES it. He gets so excited and hyper.

We have 3 dogs & our Goldendoodle (95 pounds) has severe allergies to many, many foods. Obtained DNA testing. Learned the only protein he can eat is Venison & Pork. Dave’s Pork & Sweet Potato is the ONLY complete dog food I’ve found to be free of every allergen for our Ace.

Somehow he knows several of the foods he is allergic to and will not eat dry or wet food with those allergens. When I opened the Chewy box today, Ace shoved his nose straight to the cans. When I popped the top, he sniffed wildly.

Barely got the top off before he began licking the food! He devoured one can & I mixed another with his dry food (venison & chickpeas w/brown rice b/c chickpeas causes wicked gas & diarrhea). He gobbled it down without a pause.

Time will tell if this helps reduce his itching, hives & diarrhea. Thanks a million Dave’s!!!.

One of my dogs (Seamus) can be very fussy. At first, I wasn’t sure he was going to eat it. I mixed it with one of Daves other gravy canned foods to make it more appealing. I gave 4 stars because I like Daves foods but this one doesn’t have the encouraging aroma that will get Seamus’s attention.

I wanted to get the lamb formula but it was out of stock. Chicken can be boring, Seamus loves anything with lamb in it. I’m sure he would have liked the lamb over the chicken.

I bought this food because my dog is on a grain-free poultry-free diet due to allergies. He absolutely loved the flavor BUT then I discovered that the “Liver” listed is poultry liver! Really sneaky to not call it out on the label and probably an issue for a lot of people buying this product for novel protein dogs.

Very disappointed.

My 11 year old German Shepherd had been diagnosed with diabetes, had lost her appetite and was becoming very thin. This food (together with insulin injections) has absolutely revitalised her. Her eyes are bright and shiny, her coat glistens and she’s no longer skin and bones, in fact she looks 5 years younger! (almost tempted to try it myself!).

I was very disappointed to find what appears to be a part pig ear in my dogs’ food. This is unacceptable for a high end pet food company. My older dog attempted to eat the ‘ear’ and fortunately spat it out, which is how I found it.

I can’t help but think my young dog might have choked on it. I am very disappointed with you Lily’s … and now looking for another premium dog food manufacturer.

Pippa (10yr old English Setter) recently had a huge malignant tumour removed from her shoulder. It was feared she would have to lose her leg as there would be insufficient muscle left to support it. Thankfully the tumour was removed without amputation but she lost a lot of blood and was very weak.

I put her on Lily’s K Recovery Recipe immediately she came home and she ate well from the start of her convalescence. Ten days later our lovely vet came to take out her 18 stitches and was amazed at her recovery and the fact that the muscle was already growing back and that she was not only using the leg but getting around fast on it! I firmly believe that Lily’s Recovery Recipe is playing a significant part in her recovery.

She loves it and I am keeping her on it for some time yet. Two of our other eight Setters, Flossie and Fenella the Third, have a tendency to colitis so I give it them whenever they are a little off colour and their systems tolerate it well.

Five Labradors have given us infinite experience of dog food and all my reading on the subject has also provided me with a great deal of knowledge and information. This dog food is, in my opinion, unmatchable.

The nutritional content is without equal, the quality of it healthy beyond compare and the results speak for themselves. Our present Labrador’s coat is bursting with health, without skin problems of any sort and so shiny that we are constantly being asked what we feed her on.

Yes, it’s quite costly and I often wish larger bags were available but. that’s life. You certainly get what you pay for and our dog is so loved that, if necessary, I would go without my own food to ensure that she gets this one.

Thankfully, Vio Vet is an excellent and reasonable supplier.

My 6 year Tibetan Terrier has been fed LilysKitchen for over 3 years. She loves this chicken and veg bake as well as the very venison which unfortunstely seems to have been discontinued. The food is considerably more expensive to buy in larger bags however she is not a large dog.

I tend to buy 2 different flavours and alternate them so she doesnt get bored. 2 large bags last almost 6 months, I do however serve it with a small handfull of fresh chicken and Lulu loves it. There is no waste.

Lulu was a show dog and is in full coat she has never had any skin or health problems to speak of. I changed to Lilys Kitchen after reading an article in the Daily Mail regarding chicken meal used in dry dog foods which is the main ingredient in James Wellbeloved.

I will continue to feed lilys kitchen as I know precisely what my dog is getting. She has no runny poos, no wind or bad breath and is a happy healthy dog. Perhaps if she was a Great Dane I couldnt afford it.

3 years on not a problem. I highly recommend.

My 12 year old poodle mix (possibly golden with it or cocker) was really showing old age. His gastro was ‘ok’ since i had him on an expensive dog food, but still had low energy. Since I changed to this Salmon & sweet potato, he is playing again with other fur boys and much better.

I started mixing this food with Taste of the Wild ancient grains/lamb to get him something besides only Salmon in his diet. That could be another reason he’s doing great. But LAMB is more fattening, and I don’t want chicken meal or by products in any of my fur babies diet!! My standard poodles get ear infections with chicken meal or by products.

(took a lot of $$ to figure that out) But Abound’s Salmon & sweet potato recipe has good looking ingredients. Even has kelp I notice.

My rescue cat (spayed female, 4 years old) loves this kibble in both the chicken and salmon flavor. I alternate the two flavors and she never tires of it. Recommended! P. S. Please note that these kibble bits are round and very small.

My kitty was used to larger-sized kibble at the shelter and it took her a short while to adjust to these smaller round pieces. She is a food gulper, though!.

Based on the ingredients list, this cat food seems healthy. The only issue is the size. I’ve never seen dry cat food that has such small pieces. They are uniform little pellets. This could be a plus or minus for your cat.

My cat usually eats his dry food quickly, but he’s never in a hurry with this one. He only eats it when he’s really hungry and there’s not another option.

My goldendoodle has been on the same diet since we took her home. PetSmart stopped carrying it and there were a few weeks that I had to give her another food. She was NOT happy. So I found our little Petco and they had her exact food! I’ve been buying the Eukanuba dry food for medium dogs and the canned beef and vegetable stew (also Eukanuba).

I and Charlie have been very happy since!.

After a battle with an autoimmune disorder last summer and being diagnosed with lymphoma about a month ago, this is legit the only food our beloved, (soon to be) 12 year-old senior dog will eat. While he has stabilized over the past several weeks (thankfully!), he was barely eating anything at all about three months ago.

He stopped eating all of his typical kibble food he has had for years, he would eat a can of canned dog food one day, chow down and then wanted nothing to do with the food the next day. My dog absolutely loves it. Wont eat any other brand. He’s a 100 lb Golden Labrador thats 9 years old. This blend is made specifically for Labradores. My dog had loved this food since he was just a pup its kept him healthy all his life.

It gets bought monthly for my boy so I definently would buy it again. I’ve also got many of my friends on this blend as well that also have labs.

My dog is 12 yrs old yorkie. Doesn’t eat solid food, hurt his teeth, I guess, even tho vet said his teeth are healthy. So I have been exploring at homemade food plus wet dog food to mix in. What I have discover, Sam HATES when food is watery, any liquid form, even if its meat flavor, stew, gravy, etc.

So when I found about this canned food, so why not give it a try. it is not pate-like other solid pate I brought before. It is more well minced in pate form, not very wet, but easy to crumble it over other food or by itself.

Gave sam his first test of 1/3 can, saw him took one big breath (sniff at it I guess) gave me a look then back at bowl, took a lick, then gobbled it all right up! Wow! I hope this food will come back in stock on chewy because I will be buying it again in heartbeat, i haven’t seen Sam eat something without hesitance in last 2 years, its is a big relief to me.

I started feeding my Yorkie baby vegetarian/vegan dog food about 2 years ago. He got heart problem from meat even though I always got him the best, expensive dog foods made with beef. I never got exotic food because I know they’re the worst.

After he got heart problems, I switched to vegetarian/vegan options. Sometimes I get him tuna or salmon. I mix this one with vegan/vegetarian dry kibbles. I always use a different brand in next order.

It’s better not to give one brand all the time. He loves this one. That’s why I buy this one in every other order. It looks and smells tasty. His heart got better since the diet change. He breathes better now.

He’s 11. Good diet is very important. Meat is toxic.

I was getting very worried about my 17 year-old doxie, as she is not supposed to have protein due to kidney disease and she would not eat the Rx foods (dry or wet). We tried several brands and even resorted to letting her eat the protein based food, just to get something in her.

But, she wouldn’t eat that either. She also had terrible diarrhea. She wasn’t even getting out of bed in the morning to eat. Well, this food is amazing! I never saw her eat so well! She is up out of bed, eats it immediately and every drop.

She has way more energy. AND her poops are solid and healthy. I am thrilled! She goes to the vet next week and I’m hoping for a great report.

I use this dog food to help improve my dogs digestive issues. Recently my little one was diagnosed with EPI and her condition is complicated with insulin dependent diabetes. The rice and enzymes in the dog food helps the EPI.

We have been using Fromm for many years. Our fur babies diets are all Fromm based. After reading and comparing ingredients and witnessing Daisy & Gertie’s overall health I would not change companies.

In fact, I would encourage everyone to feed their 4 legged babies Fromm.

I’m very particular about what I feed my dog but she’s even pickier. She loves the Fromm Frommbalya Turkey, Vegetable and Rice stew. Would definitely recommend this product for your fur baby.

My schnoodle has been on these since we rescued him three year ago. Now every time we open the beef flavor trays they are very dry. Chewy is always willing to make your purchase satisfactory but this is not their problem.

I contacted Science Diet and feel the excuses were unacceptable. No, they didn’t dry out during transit since the chicken was just as moist as always. I sent pictures to Science Diet of the over dry wet dog food and that didn’t phase them.

It is time to try something else. I decided that I would return my latest unopened pack to Chewy for a refund. Chewy is not responsible for the quality of their Science Diet products.

Normally i LOVE this food as does my 5 year old shih Tzu Halow. After adopting her i had an extremely hard time find a food she likes, that’s suitable for her allergies, and sensitive skin and eyes, and she will only take WET FOOD.

After a year of searching this has been our holy grail for my sweet Angel. But this last shipment the consistency of the beef entree was different and she didn’t not finish it. But the chicken had it same gravy consistency and she did in fact gobble that up.

! Still love the product and will continue to support but would like to see the same consistency.

I bought this item just yesterday. I have a toy poodle and my girl is one year’s old. and she is a very picky eater. I have never seen molly eat anything as she did with the savory chicken & vegetables even after she was all done molly kept licking her lips for a while and was on her back laid out extremely content.

please remember any food giving takes time if not on the first try give it at least a week. I’m so happy she took to this very fast.

Most dog foods -especially those that contain meat- have unhealthy levels of protein and lack healthy veg and fiber. If your dog is showing signs of kidney disease this could be why. Excess protein is bad and unfortunately our adopted dog has dodgy kidneys.

Luckily for him though there are many veg canned dog foods on the market now. He loves variety! We alternate between about 5 different varieties but Evangers is by far his favorite. Our cats even steal some from him.

I highly recommend from Pet Flow because this is the best price we’ve found anywhere.

My dog is diabetic, but I find that most dog foods have potatoes and rice in them. I loved the idea of this food but when I got it here, I could read more of what is in it. It does have sweet potatoes which is ok for my dog, but it didn’t clearly show the white potatoes.

Rice is also in several foods. This was my mistake I thought Vegetarian would be good. Just didn’t read close enough. He gets 1/2 a teaspoon twice a day with the weight control to make the proper amount of food as directed by the vet per day.

A life-saver! Used with Basijii-Chi mix rescue first then rescue Queensland Heeler. Our Basinjii-Chi was was in very poor health when we rescued him. We started with grave undiagnosed, some known health issues and much ER service and gastro, kidney & pancreatic issue and a prescription food for his first 10 months then started a transition to find a food compatible in addition he had much symptomatic food allergy issues, skin and well a lot of health issues! We passed through a few brands on our journey which settled on the Evanger’s food line.

In about a years time we have settled into a mix which includes this Evanger’s Super Premium Low Fat Vegetarian canned food along with a topper of Evanger’s Grain Free all chicken canned food and the Evanger’s Holistic Grain Free Chicken dry kibble.

This product line has been a game-changer and life-saver for both my beloved rescue dogs. This Low fat vegetarian food provided a great low fat no meat protein wet food in our transition to finding anything he could eat without resulting in health consequences.

At first he wouldn’t eat it. The vet said whatever you feed him if you leave it he will eventually get hungry and eat. Well he didn’t eat. hungry or otherwise. Back & forth to the Vet ER and near death and the ER vet recommended trying the Evanger’s Chicken & Rice canned food.

They said when pets are sickly and don’t eat to extreme it is their magic bullet to offer. Well it worked -he started eating again. He was emaciated when we received him at almost 11lbs but was regaining strength, health and weight with a few bounces back to the ER Vet as we worked him through it.

But that Evanger’s Chicken & Rice is high in calories and he put a lttle more weight on than he should although tolerating eating now and we searched through the Evanger’s line and found this Evanger’s Super Premium Vegetarian canned food.

This Vegetarian canned food was much lower in calories, low-fat, low protein with no meat source (good for pancreas, liver & gastro issues) but he wouldn’t eat it. We started integrating the Vegetarian canned food and added a small spoonful of Evanger’s Grain free chicken canned food as a topper,ground flax seed and coconut oil mixed in and left a little of the Grain free Chicken & pumpkin dry kibble for him.

He picks and chooses his proportioned ‘buffet’ but is enjoying food now and health-wise tolerating this diet mix as a dog once with huge dietary allergies. He has lost a couple unnecessary pounds, beautiful skin & coat (no more dermatitis ulcerative skin issues) and healthy at 19 lbs, with no more emergency vet visits or health issues.

Biopsies revealed they are Sarcoma and she will require much treatment and surgery but for sure she is in better health at this time to battle it.

Amazing! I raise show dogs that we love dearly. Several of our dogs are extremely picky eaters. I take 6 to 7 cups of their dried dog food and add a full hand full to their dry dog food and mix it in.

Sometimes I break the larger chunks of chicken up so the dogs won’t pick only their delicious pet fresh Roasted meal chicken flavor out of their dry dog food. They won’t leave a crumb in their bowl. One of my huge cane corso pups wasn’t putting on muscle or weight to keep her up with the growth chart standards.

Wow, the difference this great product made. Grow girl grow. Beautiful coats also. They love it. I now feed them twice a day smaller amounts at a time so they won’t get the bloat from over eating lol.

Have 2 French Bulldogs. Bella has had pancreatitis twice and has itchy and scratchy feet. Buster was gaining weight on dry dog food even though I cut his servings down as far as I could. Switched to Fresh pet about a month ago, I was worried but Bella was miserable.

A friend of mine had switched her Great Dane without the standard slow increase in new food without any problems so I went for it. Well to say I was shocked is an understatement!! NO trouble AT ALL. They love it.

My two toy breed senior dogs really enjoy this food! They stopped eating their prescription hard and wet food so I had no choice but to find something that they would eat because I wasn’t about to starve them because the vet wants them to eat something very specific.

They’ve been on this one for about a year now and they are excited every time they eat. I’ve never seen them eat something with so much desire! It’s a bit pricey but as someone who also paid a bit for prescription food I’m fine with the price of it makes them happy.

I’ll keep buying it as long as they eat it and it’s not hurting them! I highly recommend it, even to picky eaters!.

I purchased this a lot back in 2020, until there was a significant change in how the product looked. My dog no longer liked it and I had to return that lot. Recently tried it again and dog still has no interest in the “new version” of this food.

Wish the manufacturing wouldn’t change significantly – noticed the same issue today with the chicken and vegetable type (looks very different from the last 2 years of food). Inconsistencies don’t work for picky eaters with sensitive stomachs.

My adult female Rotterman is a very picky eater and has a sensitive digestion. I had been feeding her grain-free kibbles doctored with bits of meat and egg, but she started to gain a lot of weight, so I tried adding half a can of WholeHearted Grain Free Adult Lamb & Carrot Wet Dog Food to her kibbles.

She eats up this combination with relish, and satisfies her hunger enough to be able to reduce her intake of kibbles. She also digests the Wet food well, which doesn’t give her loose stool, so now I’ve signed up for repeat delivery of this product.

I have been purchasing the Whole Hearted grain free canned dog food for quite some time now and will continue to do so as long as my little dog enjoys it. He is highly allergic and can tolerate the choices with only lamb or turkey (no chicken or beef).

I hope the lamb and carrot flavor will be available soon because he usually gets bored with only turkey after a while and won’t eat it. He’s more likely to eat when I alternate turkey and lamb. Thank you.

Hi! I have developed bladder stones and after surgery was placed on a special urinary diet. My mom chose to feed me Royal Canin Urinary SO. It was one of the vet recommendations, but also her friend whom is a dog expert and groomer highly endorses the Royal Canin brand.

I Love my new food and my sister poodle also has transitioned to the same diet so my mom doesn’t have to feed us separately. The bossy, old chihuahua-mini pin that lives with us also eats it and her teeth have improved.

there is no more nasty tarter and her breath is better. We were surprised that food for a urinary diet would have that benefit, but WOW! Anyway, our family gives a thumbs up to Royal Canin!! We use both the canned and dry food products.

The vet recommended this food for my slightly overweight chihuahua, Caesar. Apparently, I was over feeding him, so he got kinda plumpy. I decided to try 3 different diet foods – carefully sticking to the feeding measurements & regiment.

But Caesar became a different dog. Instead of playful & cuddly – he was anxious, whiny, and was desperately looking x food. To the point that he was attacking garbage bins & stealing food from the table & kitchen counters.

It was like watching ‘Chihuahua parkour’! Entertaining, but worrisome. I thought it would only last a few weeks but he continued this behavior for month. I did want him to lose weight, but not to “feel” like I was starving him.

Especially since I had been my fault that he was overweight to begin with. I discussed these issues with my vet and she recommended the Royal Canaan are satiety line of food. Caesar likes the food. I tamale sure to follow the advised measurements – & I feed him a combination of dried and wet food, two times a day.

Initially, he continued to seek out food. However, within a week he stopped. I think Caesar continued to seek food as a psychosomatic response. He wasn’t really hungry, but since he had been doing it for so long, he felt he must continue the behavior.

Within a year Cesar lost 5 pounds. That is huge. Considering he is a small dog. Most definitely would recommend this food!.

A lot of sites highly recommend this particular dry food for my Yorkie pup but I didn’t get it at first because it indicated for all breed sizes. I feared the kibbles might be too big for a small breed.

My pup is on Wellness CORE Grain Free for Small Breed Pups. He loves it but he is getting too big, like a giant Yorkie. Maybe too much protein! LOL! I decided to try this. Now that I have it, It looks like a perfect size, about the same size as the CORE.

My pup got to taste a few kibbles on its own and also mixed with his current dry food today. He likes them both equally. His poop appears normal and firm. My pup eats 4 times a day so after a week of mixing gradually, I will feed him the dry food separately – 2 times of one and 2 times of the other as I still have plenty of the other.

I love it because my pup loves it, in addition to being grain free, no meat by products, loaded with nutrients and high protein content. He is now 7 months. If he continues to like it, I will keep the same brand and use the adult version when he turns a year.
